no but like the euro brady therapist playthrough is literally insane you can see this white guy literally unlearning his own biases towards asians and people of color in real time and honestly it's kinda like... more than ever, the inability to admit you were wrong instead of doubling down, and really to listen to what people have to say feels like a skill issue
like what I'm personally most impressed by is that I heard his initial take on Kim's heritage, and he was saying things like "ohhh look at you don't you feel bothered by the fact you're so distanced from your own culture" and things like that, but then afterwards in the "I was wrong about kim kitsuragi" video he actually went and articulated what kim was actually trying to say, and what other commenters had been explaining as well-- that is, his frustration that people of revachol constantly try to fit him inside their own preconceptions of Seolites and how they never truly see him as one of their own. Like I think if doubling down is the worst reaction, one level better would be to apologize, but this guy really went and internalized WHY he was wrong, to the point that he could verbalize how people actually thought about the situation before explicitly apologizing for it. and you can tell it was immensely difficult for him to do that and that he's a bit nervous throughout the video but he really did do that self-reflection and I think that's more than what a lot of people can say about themselves
#just thinking thoughts...#like the way he said 'yeah I definitely felt very attacked at first'#'but when I was calmer I actually went back and reread those comments and realized nobody was actually attacking me.'#'these commenters were just sharing their experiences with me-- experiences that I didn't have and never knew about'#'and once it got through to me that nobody was attacking me it was much easier to really take note of what people were saying'#and honestly like. it's true. you will feel discomfort when you're confronted by these situations#but to be able to work through that discomfort and become a better person because of it is really impressive to see#like idk. I've had those moments but I think they were largely in private#to own up to this to a large audience shows immense composure on his part imo#and I think in part it's definitely due to his background in therapy but still. incredibly impressive

Cod mw 2 with a young therapist reader
various platonic cod x g/n reader
Now most of the guys would rather not talk about their feels and their trauma from their missions and shit but now required by their respective bases and nations a therapist is required for each task force and base to exist. With them being grown ass men who probably have been shut out from the world other then their missions and out of base duties, they have no idea how to outside civilian world works now. When you first came to the task 141 base you were greeted with surprised reactions to how old you were, major professionalism and a distrustfulness in the air, The majority of the boys (mostly ghost) are wary around sharing with you even with things that have nothing to do with mission or personal background like their favorite color or hobbies in case you might find a way to use it against them.
Price : probably the second most willing for therapy after gaz, He doesnât share as much as a normal person would because why tf would you need to know EVERYTHING that has ever happened to him. Heâs does warm up to you but as much as a task force leader can, very concerned about your own mental state and health because he once was in a session with you and he suddenly told him you were high as shit and he spent the rest of the day looking after you.
Gaz : the most willing person! He knows that he has seen some shit and that some times that shit need to be talked about. More thinking that you were unfit to really be part of the task force to stay here almost 24/7 365 and only leaving once a month for 3 weeks, that was until he had brought you to the shooting range they had and you had shot a P45 like it was a second joint in ur arm he was impressed. Speaking of the shooting range I feel like it would be gazâs calming place were he can shoot guns without a care or guilt to creep up on him later.
Soap : unlike how most people would think, I feel like soap wouldnât like a therapist, not that he would feel like they would bother him but what if they leak information or if they got kidnapped and interfaced by an enemy. So many thing run rapid in his mind like the fact he thinks youâre a normal citizen and that you have zero military training, he thinks that your another person he has to protect and not have people bum rush you. Heâs presence around you is like a fed up older brother who is tired but his prospect of you would change when graves took over under the command of general shepherd and you acted as a unknown spy for the now rouge 141 with the shadow company and even them not knowing you were sided with the 141.
Ghost : this is not the first time ghost has met you and he fear wouldnât be the last. The first time you guys met was when you were a normal cadets and he was a LT in training, you had been assigned to his task force âgroupâ called the '47 flyers.' Or the flyers for short. You had been one of the hardest smart assed mouth cadets he was to this day even worked with, constantly putting in your opinion in final orders or strategies or going rouge on a mission or a house sweep. Though those things did help and/or made the missions carry out easier, you were still a smart ass. The second time you guys met is now when you became the 141 therapist, ghost does give you your credits when itâs due like you have matured and the smart assness of your mouth has toned down a lot. He prays to and thanks whatever or whoever fixed you and your smart ass mouth.
Shadow company
Graves : smart ass moth southern boy, itâs giving he needs young coochie with how heâs acting. Definitely flirting and when you just sit there like dude Iâm like 20 and ur probably way over 20, bro laughs and says with a straight ass face âitâs still legal Im gonna make you howel like a beagleâ you look at him and walk out of ur own office. Itâs giving whistle with josh, grave probably has one of those slide show videos with extra brightness and lots of exposure to the old Apple slide show musicâŚhe keeps it hidden and locked up itâs his deepest fear that some one will find it and he will never love that down.

I may as well share my semi-effortful (though rambly) comment on one of Ozy's recent posts criticizing Amanda Shrier on her recent anti-therapy-culture book, as I imagine more people might see or interact with it here than in that comments section. What I'm most interested in here is, what does it mean to experience the emotion of happiness?
I learned of Shrier's existence and her book from seeing her interviewed by Coleman Hughes on his podcast, and I thought throughout that interview Shrier sounded like she was made of good common sense (it helps that I'm already broadly in sympathy with wanting to push back against what we might call "very online therapy culture" which Ozy seems also to be in agreement with), with an exceptional moment here or there: for instance, at some point one of them (I think it was Coleman) seemed to imply that it's good when children are slightly scared of their parents. While there may be some empirical evidence somewhere that children who are slightly scared of their parents stay on the straight-and-narrow and have more positive life/career outcomes or something, this idea still massively creeps me out. But still, overall in conversation, Shrier comes across as reasonable. I think this sequence of posts tearing apart her parenting beliefs as expressed in her book (unless a bunch of these quotes are grossly taken out of context in some way I can't see) show that she's less reasonable "in writing" and that her more deliberate beliefs that she expresses in her work represent a pushback that is righteous initially but goes to an unfortunate far extreme in the other direction. The part of her interview that stuck in my mind the most, actually, was her line about "We used to ask kids such-and-such; now we ask them about their feelings all the time", which wasn't something that had occurred to me before but I was open to where she was coming from. So I find the response to it in the end of this article interesting. I don't say this with much confidence, but I tend to feel more like Shrier on the issue of how often we're actually feeling the emotion of happiness, although I don't think I'm clinically depressed or at all prone to it (although I have a rather negative outlook at the moment about my future prospects and the world in general which may prevent me from feeling much wholehearted happiness, but that goes for a lot of us. I think perhaps a majority of people relate more to Shrier here. Just yesterday or so, I saw a post from a Tumblr mutual saying they haven't had a single actually *pleasant* day in years like they used to in the 2010's, only "good given the worse background situation" days. This seems to relate to the same idea. Maybe due to recent shifts in world events most of us have moved in that direction? I don't know.) I would suggest actually from reading the end of this article that the difference might come not from psychological make-up but from a disagreement over the definition what it means to feel happiness, where Ozy's definition aligns more with what Shrier and I would call "feeling okay".

Obey Me! Characters and an MC with chronic pain
More self indulgence
Lucifer
Is aware, thanks to Barbatos, but also respects your privacy.
Probably won't act like he already knows if you decide to tell him.
Can't stay by your side as much as he wants, but he works hard behind the scenes to make sure you're taken care of.
Makes sure the first aid cabinet is always stocked with pain meds.
Calls you in sick when you need to miss school.
Schedules your doctors appointments
Often tutors you to make sure you don't get behind.
Makes Mammon bring you your homework, Has Satan pick up your meds.
Still wishes he could do more.
The first to check on you in the morning if you wake up in pain and are late to breakfast.
Mammon
The first to know after Barbatos. He's always in your room going through your things, so he found your medications, aids, etc and tried failed to find a subtle way to ask you about them.
Is honestly amazed that you have to deal with that every day and still manage to do everything that you do for him and his brothers, and all with a smile.
Thinks you're a badass.
Whenever he goes on shopping sprees with Goldie, he buys you anything he sees that he thinks might help.
He doesn't know what it is, but it says its for pain, so MC might be able to use it!
It breaks his heart to see his human in pain, and he feels helpless, so he'll stay by you and stroke your hair during pain flare ups.
Hovers a little.
Always willing to lay in bed and have a Harrison Porter marathon.
Gets really good at wrapping your joints in compression bandages, braces, or kinesio-tape.
Leviathan
The resident Akuzon addict will actually research all the best products for coping with pain. He'll sort through reviews and find whatever sounds the most helpful.
He finds out when he invites you to an anime/gaming marathon and you decline, saying you're in pain.
Boy doesn't run, but he's at your door in three seconds flat and out of breath, trying to make sure you're okay.
Video chats, live streams, and other technological ways to hang out become a common option for the two of you, but he also sets up an area in his room just for you, where you can lay down and access anything you'd need to feel better. Tens unit? Check. Pain meds? Check. Heating pad? Check. Braces? Check. Ice packs? Check. The list goes on, MC.
Knows all your comfort characters/series, and incorporates them into his comfort strategies. "'You're amazing! I don't know anyone who could handle what you do every day!' That's what the die-hard gamer from your favorite anime would say in a situation like this, right?!"
Satan
Makes a point to do things for you before you can even ask him to.
Will get things for you, bring them to you, put things you've left out back in your room or where you'll easily find them so you don't have to go looking.
Always offers to carry things for you.
Reads up on whatever he can that might help.
Should we get Cerberus certified as an emotional support/service animal?
Obviously a good tutor when you need help with school.
Reads to you or sends you cat videos when you're having a bad day.
He's really good at reading people, so he's one of the first to notice when your mood starts to change due to the pain.
Makes the others aware whenever he realizes you're having a pain flare up.
The Devildom Museum of Art is suddenly offering virtual tours of all their new exhibits. Hmmm I wonder who could be responsible for that.
Asmodeus
The king of massages and back rubs.
Seriously, it makes Mammon jealous, so Asmo's always giving you back rubs in his room so Mammon can't butt in and demand that he takes his hands off you.
Always there to offer you a hot bath
Learns all about aromatherapy, and knows all the best scents for relaxation and pain relief.
Always buying lotions and massage oils to use on you, especially if he thinks they'll help.
Knows about all of the newest super food trends and encourages a healthy lifestyle and diet without being pushy.
Drink lots of water, MC!
Encourages you to take it easy, and to never feel guilty about taking care of yourself.
Seriously, Asmo will force you to take self care or mental health days if he thinks you need it. (Much to Lucifer's chagrin. Guess he's calling you in sick again.)
Beelzebub
Along with Belphie, he's very good at being able to read your mood and tell when you're starting to feel bad.
Likes giving you piggy-back rides and always offers to carry things for you.
Seriously, between Beel and Satan, you don't ever have to lift a finger if you don't want to.
Checks in with you often, but tries to make sure he's not hovering. He wants to help as often as he can, but doesn't want to take away any of your independence.
Gets really into physical therapy and learns all the best stretches and exercises to help you, but still knows that sometimes only junk food can make things better.
Takes it upon himself to bring you all your meals. He'll even pack you lunches, or go get your food for you in the cafeteria.
Knows all your favorite comfort foods.
Really just wants to hold you when you're not feeling well.
Probably the second best at massages after Asmo.
Belphegor
Prides himself on how well he knows you, and can tell when you're starting to feel run down almost before you can.
Takes it upon himself to learn your limits so he knows when you're pushing yourself and can distract you so you don't overdo it and wind up in pain later.
A little bossy, but his heart's in the right place, "Don't sit like that, MC, your back will hurt later"
Canonically already carries around stomach medicine for Beel, so he's definitely carrying pain meds around for you too.
Snuggle buddies for life.
As much as he enjoys/needs sleep, if you're having a pain flare up, he'll make sure to stay awake to stroke your hair and comfort you until you fall asleep first.
Tries to make jokes to make you feel better.
Doesn't seem like it, but he's a pretty good tutor too. He's used to cramming at the last minute.
Diavolo
Makes sure you have any accommodations that you may need. Online classes, extensions, extra sick days, you name it.
Checks in with you often, but won't say anything about your condition unless you tell him first. Will act like he doesn't know until then. But will sheepishly admit the truth if you find out and apologize.
Does anything he can to help magically as often as possible, but there are rules and limitations even for him.
All he really wants to do is take care of you and treat you to things. Anything at all that he can do to help, really.
Would pamper you within an inch of your life if he could.
Has the Little D's help you out with things all the time, but tells them to act like it's just coincidence that they're there and have time to help.
Lucifer and Barbatos both have to remind him that you need rest and he can't constantly be checking in on you. They roll their eyes whenever they see the Little D's approach you.
Barbatos
Was probably the one in charge of all the details of the exchange program, like transportation and background information, so he would have been the first to know.
Made Diavolo and Lucifer aware as part of his duties, but respects your privacy and wouldn't offer any details without permission.
Seriously admires your strength. It takes a lot to deal with pain every day.
Always has pain meds, braces, or other small helpful items on hand.
Does more for you than anyone besides Diavolo.
Diavolo and Lucifer both think it's sweet, and may tease him a little.
Solomon
Always has magic ointments and creams on hand, and gives them to you often.
Knows that weather can affect pain, and checks in on you when it rains.
Will take notes for you in class and bring them to you at the House of Lamentation.
Worries more than he lets on.
Does extra medicinal magic on you without your knowledge, but only if he knows it'll help somehow. Normally he has no problem experimenting on people, but he cares too much about you, and you've been through enough.
Simeon
Likes to cook for you when you're not feeling well and brings meals to you when you miss school sometimes.
Is really good at taking care of people.
Always there to listen, and very sympathetic.
Has to hold himself back from hovering, but having to remind Luke helps him.
Loves playing with your hair while he comforts you.
Forehead kisses.
Like Beel, he just wants to hold you and make things better.
Luke
Worries about you a lot when you miss school.
Simeon and Solomon have to remind him that he can't constantly call or check on you because you need your rest, but if one of them visits you, you can bet that he's tagging along.
You're so strong MC!
Making you desserts as we speak.
Would share his comfort items with you.

HSMTMTS 2x09 Review
Spring Break was a bit of an odd ep but helped move some key plots forward. Letâs dig in!
Well people can no longer claim that Portwell is one sided. We finally got Ginaâs pov and she starts off the ep uncertain whether the shift in their relationship means that EJ likes her but by the end of the ep she seems sure of herself and that EJ likes her back. I liked that she didnât try to pretend that nothing had changed or that she hadnât noticed potential signs that EJ might like her; it always sucks when tv characters act like idiots.Â
Perhaps the most important reveal of this ep was that Gina has a much older estranged brother who left her and her mom many years ago. That certainly makes her backstory more tragic and is definite set up for her brother to eventually return.
The writers continue to give Portwell great tropes, capping this ep off with an airport rom-com trope that also calls back to EJ getting Gina the place ticket so she could come back in S1. Not only did Gina keep EJâs Duke sweatshirt but she altered it to fit her better which is both sweet and bold in the assumption that it was hers to keep. Gina got her sign when not only did EJ show up to drive Gina home and take her luggage but he brought her the granola bar that she had wanted but forgot to pack. I wonder if her posting on her story that she was ubering home after her flight was cancelled was intended to see if EJ would show up since the camera focused on her posting it. Also sweet that sheâs taken to calling EJ, â Eejâ.Â
EJâs opening was good, shows a lot of his character growth from the selfish guy he was in S1 and how heâs learned to value other people which of course leads into his feelings for Gina. We got another great use of the camera as character tonight when Gina was laughing after her facetime call with EJ until she realized that the camera was on her.Â
Jack was a lot of fun. Though he didnât really change Ginaâs mind over anything like the ep description said he would.  Seemed like Gina was largely over Ricky and wondering about EJ at the beginning and the end solidified her feelings for EJ but Jack didnât really play a role in that, itâs not like he encouraged Gina to reach out to EJ or anything. Thereâs a vague sense in which Jack being nomadic linked him to Rickyâs unreliability in Ginaâs eyes with her craving stability but thatâs a stretch. Jack mentioned that the second most dangerous part of a plane ride is when the plane takes off, a hint to the blossoming Portwell relationship where in order to take off one or both of them has to risk a confession even though they could be turned down.
This ep might seem a bit weird in hindsight. The zoom parts probably wonât age well and five years from now people might be wondering why they had Gina hang out with a manic pixie dream boy of sorts for an ep.
The path is clear for canon Portwell in the finale with EJ being Ginaâs second chance at romance and her first kiss since they clearly telegraphed it out of nowhere. Iâve been impressed with the great work the writers have been doing since 2x05 to build up Portwell as a ship but also work on Gina and EJ as individual characters; theyâve been the highlight of the season so far.Â
There was discourse this past week over how well or poorly Portwell has been set up. Objectively very few ships on this show get much in the way of set up or consistent writing. Redlyn and Kowie had barely any set up before getting together. Seblos had none (though in fairness that was due to Disney restrictions) and Miss Jenn and Mike Bowen didnât have much set up either. Rini did get lots of development in S1 but thatâs because they had already dated and were the main ship of the show. The showâs not really about slow burns, if Jenzzara canons in the finale theyâll count and if Rina ever got together theyâd also count but neither of those ships have gotten consistent development with Mazzara not being in several eps and Gina and Ricky not even interacting for the past 3 eps.Â
Is Portwell a slowburn? In a sense since they did feature quite a bit in each otherâs S1 plot lines and even had a fake dating plot but it is true that they were platonic and not that close in S1 so itâs a wash. There was clear set up for romantic Portwell in 1x10 with team wonderstudies and Gina staring at EJ (which interestingly enough looked more like set up for Gina to pine over EJ). I think the main problem is that even though we saw Gina and EJ hanging out in the background we didnât get any scenes of substance between them until 2x05. It was a mistake and there should have been some scene, like EJ and Gina commiserating in 2x03 over being single on Valentineâs Day or something like that. Hell there was even that still from 2x01 of EJ and Gina looking at each other at the piano while they were in the frame between Ricky and Nini singing and having a moment which would have been good foreshadowing but that shot wasnât in the ep.
Whether Tim just really wanted Portwell to be a surprise in 2x05 as a mid-season twist to throw the audience off of what looked like a Rini/Rina triangle or he was unsure as to whether he wanted to go with Portwell or if he just planned it out poorly we may never know. Regardless theyâve had great writing for 4 eps in a row now which puts them slightly ahead of the 3 eps in a row of development Rina got in S1. Iâm sure if someone added up their screen time theyâd find that Portwell has more screen time this season than Kowie and more screen time than Redlyn or Seblos got in S1.Â
Caswell cousins was fun and Ashlyn did in fact paint EJâs nails.Â
Set up for Seblos drama next week, itâs refreshing to see Seb being jealous over Carlos flirting with other boys thatâs definitely not something you see on Disney shows.
Ricky got some healing done with his mom. Enough to cover their issues? No but this is probably the best this show is capable of. There was a brief mention of therapy sandwiched between other options which sounds more like checking off a box then setting up Ricky actually going to therapy. I noticed Lynne was smiling at odd times like when she told Ricky she knew about his breakup with Nini; whether that was poor directing or acting I donât know. Who knows if weâll see Lynne again. As an aside still so wild that Tim named Lynne whoâs been a kinda shitty mom after his own mom who he seems to be fairly close with.
Really liked You ainât seen nothin as a song but not a fan of the Tiktok style vid. Iâll level with you wildcats, Iâm too old to really get Tiktok, it just seems like a crappy version of Vine to me. Let you go was good, seemed better fitted for Joshua Bassettâs voice than some of his previous songs. A big sign that theyâre not circling back to Rini for a long time for sure. Though on that note we got a bit of a hint that Ricky was Niniâs muse which may one day come back as a way to help bring them back together.Â
Looking Ahead:
If thereâs only 3 weeks left till the Menkies, with only 2 weeks left for rehearsal due to spring break, itâs hard to see East High winning unless North High is disqualified or has to withdraw.Â
Lily is in a promo photo so sheâs likely the unexpected facetime Ricky gets which is what I had theorized. Also makes it much more likely that sheâs the party crasher Ricky re-evaluates in the finale though what Tim actually wants to do with those two I do not know.
Thereâs little point in bringing back the Valentineâs chocolate since thereâs no real stakes. Rini are already broken up, Gina hasnât spoken to Ricky since 2x06, and itâs not like Nini and Gina were ever close so even if they stopped talking to each other it wouldnât really affect the show in any way.Â
Seems pretty likely that Second Chances refers to Gina realizing that her first try with Ricky failed but her second chance with EJ wonât and that leads to her sharing her truth and cue the Portwell confession and kiss, perhaps with an assist on EJâs end from Mazzara. Weâve gone well past the point where Portwell can be brushed off as just a plot device to help Rina but Tim is playing with fire by getting the audience so on board with Portwell if heâs once again going to have EJ lose a girl he likes to Ricky in S3.
Gina certainly needs to talk with Ricky and I do think that happens in ep 11 or 12 and leaves them on better terms. As I mentioned last week, if Tim was smart heâd slam the door on Rina if heâs going with canon Portwell or vice versa. If he wants Rina to be a slow burn heâs really botched the writing this season, itâs been too one sided and too angsty to sustain any kind of momentum or audience interest. They havenât even interacted for 3 eps now and not only has it not affected the show but itâs inarguably made Ginaâs story line much better. Again I donât think heâs smart enough to not try and do Portwell and then later Rina but heâs accidentally set up the Rina story line to quite easily slam the door permanently on them by having their conversation be closure for Gina whoâs moved on and an apology from Ricky who never liked her back as much as Gina liked him.
Not looking forward to seeing Nini basically live out Olivia Rodrigoâs life in future seasons
Curious to see Carlosâ apology song to Seb. Ricky helping him with it is a great way to help start redeeming Rickyâs character in the audiences eyeâs. According to Matt there is a bit of a Ricky/EJ rivalry this season and if itâs really happening the sleepover would be a good place to do it though I hope itâs not about Gina.Â
Until next week wildcats.

THEăťRarest Bakugou
Given Bakugou-kun's description as a "juvenile delinquent" (Horikoshi sensei uses the term ä¸čŻĺ°ĺš´, or furyou shounen, meaning juvenile delinquent boy), it's expected that he wouldn't conform to standard. So obviously, it's not possible to find Bakugou-kun wearing a tie properly................
What is up with this perfectly tied nonsense right here?!
Bakugou-kun, I thought I knew you!!! THE LIES! THE BETRAYAL!!!
But, it's probably just a fluke. You didn't mean it, right Horikoshi-sensei?

WTF?! WHY?!!! Horikoshi-sensei?!
Yep. Contrary to expectations, Bakugou-kun wearing a tie correctly only ranks at Ultra Rare status: difficult to find, but not impossible.
So, what's rarer than a tie-wearing Bakugou-kun? Go Beyond, Plus Ultra Rare Bakugou!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In fact, it's even harder to find Bakugou-kun wearing a tie improperly. Given proto-Bakugou's loose tie design, I would have expected that to be the likelier delinquent-esque tie option. But I've only seen Horikoshi-sensei draw him like this once:

(Horikoshi-sensei's one year celebration illustration. This is still fairly early in the publication.)
On top of that, Bakugou-kun consistently wears his uniform tie-less and with at least one button undone on his shirt collar. His pants are always slung low on his hips and legs bunching up at his feet (except when he had to wear jeans for Best Jeanist). You can even see panels where Horikoshi-sensei drew in the rips at the hems near the heel where they drag on the ground.
So why the inconsistency, Horikoshi-sensei? I see you over there, stop pretending you didn't notice. I know you're paying attention.
Horikoshi-sensei gave proto-Bakugou a loosened tie, so what is the reasoning for taking Bakugou-kun's tie away?
Some No-Tie Theories
Fan Theory #1: HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW
//Like Midoriya-kun, Bakugou-kun came from a middle school with gakuran uniforms. They never learned how to tie them. Midoriya-kun messes up his tie, while Bakugou-kun doesn't even bother to try.//
I actually think this is the least likely reason. Bakugou-kun was designed to be a naturally talented genius. I think this applies to anything he wants to do. If he does something, it's always perfectly done.
Bakugou-kun can (and does if you look above) tie it perfectly when necessary.
CONCLUSION: If Bakugou-kun doesn't do something, it's completely out of personal preference or because he doesn't see a reason to.
Fan Theory #2: REBELLIOUS NATURE
//Bakugou-kun is a delinquent and maintains that image because he thinks it looks cool. Or maybe he is rebelling against fashion designer parents. Either way, because of his family background he knows how to tie a tie, but wants to be a rebel.//
I'd give partial points for this one. I'm pretty sure he wears his pants loose at least partially because he thinks it looks cool. However, Bakugou-kun's parents were noted to be designers and not specifically fashion designers.
Despite appearances, this is the kid that sleeps at 8:30pm, doesn't break school rules, and yells at his friends for smoking.
He zips up the collar on his gym track suit all the way. Both the summer and winter versions get the same treatment. He doesn't feel the need to "make a statement" by wearing his track uniform incorrectly. Outside of class, he can and does sometimes wear his track jacket unzipped, but during class he always wears it properly.
So then why does Bakugou-kun refuse to wear the band T-shirt and Christmas party Santa outfit? Because he isn't cooperative. In Ultra Analysis, his Cooperativeness Stat was the lowest rank: E.
CONCLUSION: Bakugou-kun may be non-conformist and uncooperative, but he isn't a rebel.
Fan Theory #3: TRAUMA/PTSD
//This is one of the more popular theories. Between Dabi grabbing his neck, the Sludge Villain and being restrained at the School Festival, our boy has been through the wringer. As a result, he just doesn't like stuff around his neck because it gives him anxiety.//
The Western Fandom is definitely concerned about the mental health of the kids. But I don't actually think this is the reason. Not that I don't think they all need some therapy and self care, especially right now, but there just isn't evidence for this specific trauma in Bakugou-kun.

He wears scarves and even turtle necks without a problem.
On top of that, Bakugou-kun ALSO unbuttoned the top button of his shirt and gakuran in middle school; even from before the Sludge Villain incident. There isn't any evidence Bakugou-kun changed his dressing habits due to trauma. He wore a scarf to the entrance exam for UA, too.
CONCLUSION: Bakugou-kun has ALWAYS worn his shirts with the top button unbuttoned.
These 3 theories are inadequate, too. Even if they did explain the reasons Bakugou-kun doesn't wear a uniform tie, they don't factor in the reasoning for why he DOES wear his other ties properly sometimes.
HC#1: Bakugou-kun's preference
Bakugou-kun doesn't seem to care about his image and how "extras" see him. Even during the press interviews after his hero debut, he wore the same style of open collar look. He's not shy about being nude or taking his shirt off.
But what he hates is being uncomfortable.
He is "explosively brawny". Just look at how thick Bakugou-kun's neck is when compared to Midoriya-kun's. It isn't just that Midoriya-kun is supposed to be scrawny, but also that Bakugou-kun has a thicker than average neck.
Bakugou-kun doesn't like to button up his shirts all the way because it's uncomfortable. It's reasonable that he zips his track suit and everything else up because those are looser at the neck or made of stretchier materials.
As for why he doesn't wear the uniform tie at all... Don't forget Bakugou-kun is a perfectionist and a bit of a neat freak.
He always tucks his shirt in. For the band performance he wore a collared black dress shirt. From what we saw of his room, it's minimalist and clean. I don't see him wanting to look like a slob.
A sloppy loose tie would probably irritate him more than just not wearing it (which is even funnier when you think about Midoriya-kun's chonk tie. It probably makes him want to strangle Midoriya-kun, or maybe just tie it himself...)
Bakugou-kun has difficulties compromising when it comes to his high standards. So if he has to wear it, it's going to be either 0% or 100%.
HC#2: Explosiveness
Why draw Bakugou-kun with either 0% tie or 100% tie? If Horikoshi-sensei is going for a delinquent image, wouldn't the 50% tie option make more sense?
Taking a look again at Bakugou-kun's profile page, Horikoshi-sensei describes him to be explosive in every way. That includes his whole body being "explosively brawny", but also adds a note that he looks slender in clothes.
Horikoshi-sensei put an effort to make every element of Bakugou-kun's character in some state of either fully compressed or explosive.
His slimming clothes, general appearance and even his speech patterns are highly compressed (blunt/terse) and loud. The extremes of his attitude are compressed too; if Bakugou-kun is not loudly raging, then he's quietly observing.
This contrast is key to his character. You can't explode if you aren't compressed first. It's supposed to be shocking to see how brawny he actually is under his slenderizing clothes. And I always feel shocked whenever I see this kid compressed into a tie.
HC#3: Deku & Kacchan
These two are set apart from the class by design and very much on purpose. Horikoshi-sensei designed them to be at opposite ends of the same spectrum.
If Bakugou-kun has muscular arms, then Midoriya-kun needs muscular legs. If Midoriya-kun buttons up his shirt all the way to the collar, then Bakugou-kun's collar has to be loose. Their designs reflect their connection.
So if Midoriya-kun has a poorly tied tie, the opposite of that is either non-existant or perfectly tied. If it's perfectly tied, he'd just blend in with the class.
The no-tie option just makes more sense.
Plus Ultra Rare Bakugou
Horikoshi-sensei only ever draws Bakugou-kun with a tie in specific scenarios. Costume events that require the neck tie as part of the costume or "fancy" events where everyone is in formal wear. And even in those, Bakugou-kun manages to not wear his tie 90% of the time.
So, I just imagine that when Horikoshi-sensei makes Bakugou-kun wear his tie, he's super grumpy! Just look at his face in every illustration he's wearing a tie in. He's probably hot, uncomfortable, and really not enjoying himself at all.
Ultimately, the "Plus Ultra Rare Bakugou" is a Bakugou-kun who wears the tie and SMILES while doing it.
(Yes, I know that's NOT actually a tie. Shut up Bakugou-kun. You're only smirking in this one because you won the Popularity Poll for the 5th time in a row...)
(Well that's random, you say? Welcome to my blog. Considering the stuff going down on canon, I figured I should give fans, and myself, a break from angst to talk about something silly.
Please note that this applies only to the manga. I've found that the anime isn't quite so strict about how Bakugou-kun looks.
Regarding the headcanons, I just want to clarify that everyone is free to think whatever they like. I enjoy all headcanons and support your right to have them.
I wrote this a while ago and then debated posting it because it's such a huge meta about... Bakugou-kun's tie. I had regrets. But now it's become my new years post. Regrets were for 2020, it's already 2021!
Demons out, fortune in!!! I know it's not setsubun for another month, but 2020 was such a demon.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!)

i ainât done anything for @tolkienocweek yet, mostly because my covid-induced neet-dom has decoupled me from any association with sidereal time and thus thereâs no way i could guarantee getting something out on its specific day. still, i do have one character that could potentially qualify for day 3 (background characters) or day 4 (self-inserts), sorta. iâd like to introduce you all to the proprietor of the fĂŤanorian ethics department, the as-yet-nameless fed elf
fed elf is a... moderately idealised self-insert of mine, though sheâs taking on a life of her own
sheâs also a noldo. of course she is
her Noldorin Craft⢠is, as iâve said before, arguing. she has very strong opinions about almost everything and will debate them at length
sheâs moderately infamous for it in tirion
sheâs especially fond of philosophy, in the ancient-greek asking-a-million-rhetorical questions style. what should we do? why do we do the things we do? why do the valar get to tell us what to do?
... you can probably tell which side of the fĂŤanor/fingolfin debate she landed on, if it wasnât already obvious
sheâs not particularly close to any of the future capital-H House, but she is in their rough orbit. one of the miscellaneous guild trolls that form the rank-and-file of their initial expeditionary force
idk if sheâs ~devoted to the cause enough to go to formenos, but when the trees get eaten and fĂŤanor rolls up into tirion with the solution to all their spider problems, she is all for it
sheâs a passing acquaintance of maedhros from those times when heâd show up in her guild hall for debate night, so she probably ends up with his crew, at least initially
... thereâs a very good chance her first attempts at crafting a new noldorin ethical system happen on that horrible night aboard the blood-stained swanships of alqualondĂŤ
in any case, she gets good enough at murder to not die before the brothers hellspawn are divvying up east beleriand, and the formerly reasonably undelineated fĂŤanorian host is splitting up into its various garrisons
most people stay with whoever theyâre already riding with, but there are exceptions. she is one of them, as soon as she hears about caranthirâs Plans she immediately switches allegiance to the future lord of thargelion
heâs deliberately trying to set up on the trade routes! theyâre gonna make contact with the dwarves! there are apparently trails leading over the blue mountains, links to communities of elves unlike sheâs ever seen!
so many new people to argue with!!!!!!
so she heads up to lake helevorn, and helps with setting up the city. she winds up filling some middling role in east beleriandâs military bureaucracy, when sheâs not on orc-killing duty
but her true passion is *~ethics~*
there is actually a practical component to this. due to Certain Events the noldor (especially the fĂŤanorians) arenât as-well suited to their pre-darkening moral codes as they might have once been
they need a new one, with contingencies for, like, murder, and all the other new situations theyâll encounter in this new world! the questions of whatâs right and wrong have been blown right open, and fed elf is possibly the happiest sheâs been in her life. theyâre building everything else from first principles, why not this?
and the fĂŤanorian host in aggregate does actually care about morality, even though outsiders never believe that. itâs what separates them from the orcs (in their minds at least); theyâre doing everything for a Cause, not for destructionâs sake alone. say what you want about the fĂŤanorians, their problem was never a lack of ideals
she gets people coming in sometimes, wanting to know what the right thing to do in a situation is. either that, or they think sheâs wrong about something and want to explain why in depth, which is almost as fun
soon enough, thereâs a small shop just off the main streets of lake helevorn called the fĂŤanorian ethics department
(sheâs the only one with a shop, but sheâs not the only member of the host with Opinions. the guy on the other side of the market district whose system is fairly similar in the broad strokes but completely different in the details is her personal archnemesis)
for most of the first age, fed elf has it pretty good. by her standards, at least, and sheâll happily exposit at length as to why theyâre the only ones that matter
the work on the system of ethics never quite stops, but it does slow down. sheâs less prescriptivist than most noldor, so she does a lot of observation and interviewing and stuff, and also new things keep happening for her to cover, but she does manage to nail down the basics!
she does consultation, in varying levels of official capacity, but sheâll also just. answer anyone who comes in with a question. or asks one within earshot
itâs mostly noldorin fĂŤanorians she has debates with, the sindar and atani generally prefer to ask her whatever they want to know with minimum fuss, but whenever she gets a real fight going they all join the crowd. watching fed elf argue with people is one of lake helevornâs municipal spectator sports
she also has conversations with travellers! these usually start when some newcomer is staring in befuddlement at the sign outside her shop and she takes the opportunity to pounce
she asks them detailed questions about their own ethical systems, which she files away for potential future incorporation/argument ammunition. they fairly frequently ask questions of their own, most often variations on âyou guys seriously have morals?â
sometimes this even turns into a proper ethical debate! these arenât usually as well-argued or intense as the ones she has with other fĂŤanorians, particularly if sheâs not talking to a noldo, but when she meets someone whoâs a proper match for her it is the highlight of her year
running the shop does generate a fair bit of paperwork she tends to be too emotionally invested in to deal with properly, so she hires help now and then. one recurring underling is a clumsy perpetually-ill atan who is nevertheless really good with the filing and holds fierce opinions of their own, even if they hide under the table whenever anyone so much as raises their voice
(that atan is me. much less idealised self insert)
like every other elf in the host, fed elf is still under arms. she has a unit, sheâs part of the orc patrol rotas, when caranthir needs to do a battle she pulls her broadsword out from under her desk and reports for the muster. east beleriand is just a pretty violent place in general, and her most impassioned arguments frequently shade into all-out duels. east beleriand, where even especially the philosophers will knife you
but just like fĂŤanor promised on tirion upon tĂşna so long ago, sheâs built a place where she can be the best version of herself, and she couldnât be happier (marketplace douche notwithstanding)
like so much of the host, she has big plans for when they topple angband and reclaim the silmarils. itâs just, well
i am not entirely sure what fed elfâs fate is after the fall of thargelion. most likely she died at some point, because so do most of her peers and also because she has an aversion to cutting her losses thatâs definitely gonna backfire sooner or later
itâs either that, or she abandons everything she ever worked out to flee over the blue mountains, or she sticks with the host long enough to see all their ideals and dreams burn to ash. out of all of them death is probably her kindest fate
if she does die - sheâs definitely a kinslayer at least one time over, she is staying in the halls for a While. the local maiar completely stonewall her every time she tries to argue her way out, she has plenty of time to sit around and think
because yeah, the hostâs century-long self-immolation has given her a lot to think about. she was wrong, it turns out, in several important ways, and from the outside she can see how much the ethical system she put her heart and soul into was bent towards destruction
if she ever gets out, itâll be after a lot of self-reflection, a massive dose of humility, and her accepting her own small-but-not-insignificant role in the nightmare they created
the fĂŤanorians as get let out of the halls of mandos are without fail less violent, more self-aware, and just generally more conscious of their actions than they were when they went in. fed elf is no exception to this
sheâs also no exception to the rule that their time in elf afterlife therapy generally fails to lower their volume at all. soon after her rebirth, after some time spent rethinking her personal moral code, fed elf puts out a thesis as to why elwingâs refusal to give up the silmaril was perfectly justifiable under fĂŤanorian ethical mores
this pisses off a measurable proportion of amanâs sapient population. soon the furious letters of rebuke are pouring in nightly
exactly. as. planned
#tolkienocweek#my terrible headcanons#my terrible ocs#feanorian minions#i have a lot of hcs about how they work that i tried to fit into here#in general i feel like their initial noldorin core is mostly made up of the family hellspawn's personal friends#just groups of buddies going off to war together! there's no way this can end badly!#my mental image of fed elf is way more defined than it has any right to be#i made her up to have a cool blog title and for absolutely no other reason#still it is oc week. y'all are basically asking for my ideas at their dumbest

Complete transcript of the Wonderland interview, by Catherine Santino, below the cut :)
In 1993, the year in which Freeformâs new thriller series Cruel Summer opens, actor Froy Gutierrez was yet to be born. Chat rooms and beepers, just two of the symbols of 90âs culture featured in the show, were absent in Gutierrez's own childhood. Instead, the 22 year old grew up among the endless, glowing feeds of social media â and the inevitable pressures that they create.
âThereâs a kind of self-awareness that comes from growing up with the internet, which everyone in our cast did,â Gutierrez, who stars in the upcoming series, tells me over Zoom â his boyish charm tangible across the screen. âWeâre all technically Gen Z or like, older Gen Z. And so you have to unburden yourself from curating a persona online.â
Due to the dizzying evolution of technology in the past two decades, Gutierrez and I had drastically different experiences with the internet growing up â even though heâs only seven years my junior. I fondly remember a time without the prevalence of social media, while Gutierrez was born into an era where internet presence was not only common, but expected.
Like most of Gutierrezâs peers, the actor was active on social media from a young age, but his presence has quietened over the years â even with 1.7 million instagram followers. âIf thereâs a general consensus on the internet of a certain readership or viewership, you know about it, because people tweet about it directly to you,'' he says. âThereâs a kind of lumping in of the character youâre playing with who you are, that people do. I donât know if itâs intentional. Itâs probably just a human thing, but that happens. And it can be hard not to internalize what you read about yourself, you know? Words have power.â
In 2017, Gutierrez appeared on supernatural MTV drama Teen Wolf, a show with a massive internet fandom. Suddenly, fan theories and commentaries about his character, Nolan Holloway, came in droves, something that the young actor wasnât necessarily prepared for. âI was still a teenager,â he says. âAround that time, you're an adult, but youâre still figuring things out. So I learned where to set my boundaries because I didnât know where they were beforehand.â
When Cruel Summer came around, Gutierrez assumed he would be portraying the âdesirable young maleâ he was used to auditioning for. âThe first time I read the character, it definitely felt like an archetype. When I auditioned for it, I walked in and was very much myself, and Michelle Purple and Jessica Biel responded very well to it.â However, after he got the role and production ramped up, he was pleasantly surprised. âIt didnât really hit me that they were wanting to take him in such a unique direction until I showed up for wardrobe one day to do my first fitting for the pilot,â Gutierrez recalls. âI looked at the mood board for Jamie and it was like, young Heath Ledger, Keanu Reeves and Kurt Cobain. And I was like âOh shit, I need to step my game up,ââ he laughs. âI couldnât get by doing the same thing that Iâve always done when it comes to characters like that.â
Cruel Summer takes place over the course of three years â â93, â94, and â95 â showing splices of each year in every episode. Produced by Jessica Biel, Tia Napolitano, and Michelle Purple, it centres around the kidnapping of a teenage girl and the fallout of the crime in her community in Skylin, Texas. Gutierrez plays Jamie Henson, the boyfriend of the missing girl, Kate. In her absence, a quiet nerd named Jeanette suddenly rises the social ranks and assumes Kateâs place â including dating Jamie. When Kate returns, Jeanette is suspected to be involved in her disappearance, throwing Jamie into some seriously challenging circumstances. His character could easily be a one-dimensional archetype â and truthfully, I expected him to be â but Cruel Summer took the opportunity to explore toxic masculinity and its widespread impact.
We see Jamie caught in the middle of conflict, unsure how to respond to a traumatic event that certainly no teenager expects to be faced with. Heâs not a hero, but heâs not a villain either. Itâs unclear whether weâre supposed to root for Jamie or not, which makes him that much more interesting to watch. âHe talks a lot about his desire to protect the people around him, regardless of whether or not they asked him to protect them,â Gutierrez says of his character. âHe kind of superimposes his own idea of what the people around him need. In order to maintain the peace of the people around him, he kind of robs the people around him of their agency. Itâs just a really fascinating character to play in that way.â
Gutierrez has also been able to explore the ethics of true crime in a time when the genre is exploding in popularity. Though Cruel Summer is fictional, it questions the effect that public opinion can have on criminal cases â and perhaps more importantly â the well-being of the people involved. âWhen it comes to the investigation of a crime, you have to weigh the good it can bring into the world versus the bad it can bring. Or making one person seem suspect, or airing the dirty laundry of a private citizen for the viewership of loads of people.â
Despite his eloquent reflections on Jamie throughout our conversation, itâs clear that Gutierrez doesnât take himself too seriously. He speaks into the camera like weâre old friends on FaceTime, and when my dog unexpectedly jumps into my frame, he gushes excitedly and asks what her name is. Heâs able to laugh at himself one minute and share poignant truths the next. Itâs refreshing, much like Cruel Summer.
Another likely contributor to the showâs authenticity? The fact that the cast was kept in the dark when it came to overarching plot points. Instead of knowing the showâs trajectory ahead of time, the actors would receive scripts for the next episode while they were filming â and they were subject to change. âWe didnât know where it was going,â Gutierrez says. âAnd we were told, ââThis might happen here, or this might happen there.â And it would shift around.â
Without foresight into their characterâs arc, the actors have no choice but to focus only on where they were in that moment â a difficult task when a single episode spans three very different years. Gutierrez faced an even greater challenge, as, unlike the two female leads, his character didnât undergo any drastic physical transformations over the three years.
âI didnât really compartmentalise the character,â he explains. âI kind of thought of the different years as different phases in my own life. The first year, â93, was a complete absence of any regret. Youâre still very young, I was just thinking of like, a complete golden retriever,â he laughs. âA 16-year old boy who just wants the best and isnât aware. â94 is me right before I made the decision to go to therapy, where I was making all these bad decisions and I didnât know why. And then â95 was a whole desire to wrestle with those things and really look at yourself in the mirror and take accountability.â
Gutierrez didnât only infuse personal experience into his behind-the-scenes work â some aspects made it onto the screen. The actor, whose father is Mexican, grew up spending time between Mexico and Texas and is a native Spanish speaker. Because Cruel Summer is set in Texas, Gutierrez suggested creating a similar background for Jamie.
âI was talking with Tia Napolitano, the show-runner, and I was like, âHey, you know what would be really cool? What if the character is half-Mexican, too?ââ Gutierrez says. âAnd she's like, âOh, yeah, letâs write it in the script.â And I got to write a couple lines in Spanish, which is really cool. [Jamie] could have been this mould of a cool, likeable jock. And then he ended up being this very nuanced human being, which is awesome.â
Though he is learning to appreciate all parts of his heritage, Gutierrez hasnât always embraced his identity. âI remember feeling like I might have been not American enough for America, and not Mexican enough for Mexico,â he says. âAnd I remember having a bit of time in which I had an accent in both languages. Even my name â in Mexico I always went by âFroylanâ, which is my full name. And then in the U.S., I went by Froy, because I thought it would be easier for other people to say.â
He continues: âI identify as Latino, but Iâm also very wary of auditioning for Latino roles because Iâm aware I donât look like a typical Latino person. I donât want to be someone that you can just sub in for that role, when Iâm really white and blonde. And so whenever I do get a role like this, one where heâs not written to be any particular direction and weâre able to collaborate, Iâm able to inject some of myself in there. So itâs been really cool to embrace all sides of my history.â
But of course, as is true for Gutierrez, Jamieâs cultural background is only a small part of who he is. Cruel Summer is committed to portraying him as a nuanced character that breaks the moulds of masculinity while tackling complex inner conflict. âLiving in his shoes and walking in them, a big question that came up for me was, âWhat is the difference between guilt and shame? [Jamie]âs coping mechanism was terrible and unhealthy, and caused more pain for the people around him. But at the same time, the shame that he internalized made it worse for him. One thing I really learned, is that shame is about yourself and beating yourself up. And guilt is about taking accountability and apologising, moving forward without expecting the relationship to come back. It's just about trying to heal what happened and then moving on, on the terms that the other person sets. Itâs not about you, and I think thatâs what the character learns throughout the show.â

hello i have thoughts abt gristol so. you're hearing them im sorry
anyway i definitely think that he is a very sudden twist, though there is build up to there being A villain i.e. truman acting suspiciously - not knowing ford likes bacon, not knowing/being sure what the brain id thing is ((i cannot remember what its called rn)), the caviar and hotel key NOT getting explained and the delugionist scribbles on the wall, and there is some background into the tyrannical gzar even if it doesn't imply there's a prince or focus on that. Oh also his body being shipped to truman
Anyway the best part about him is that its unapologetic. he sucks. hes a spoiled, bratty prince that doesn't care if people DIE as long as he gets what he wants. his head is Its A Small World because he fabricated a world which makes himself the star of the story, a tragic figure, while his family still has caviar and fancy casino hotel money. It's honestly a great character to add to a story mainly focusing on how people who cause harm are often hurt by their trauma, and help and support can bring them out of a bad place, or help them control darker tendencies.
But then there's this bitch. gristol - absolute tool. I think he's really key to show because all the other villains got redeemed in some way - oleander, maligula, loboto - i think there needs to be someone who - though he is technically influenced to do all this due to his trauma, you SEE his mind, and that his trauma is pretty baseless and ignoring key facts - like maligula wanting to kill his family. He's delusional, but even when you specifically address the bad things about grulovia and his dad's reign, he does admit that he doesn't care cause he doesn't have a cotton candy machine in his room.
anyway this is just a long-winded way to say I love that they did the gristol twist. I feel like its an honest reflection of a world where good people can be bad through trauma, but there are always people who are also selfish implicitly, "delugional" to a point beyond repair. In therapy, clients drive their own change. Gristol doesn't want to change, or see the need.
anyway sorry im like this here u go
oh yes, i do mean âsuddenâ simply in that hes like, not properly revealed at all until the very end- which is such an interesting move to me (and a great one). i had made a post a while back about how there are soo many hints that definitely put you off to him before knowing its him-- he calls loboto a âpsychoâ, doesnt know the thinker print, he says to âfixâ ford, etc. he exists in a twist that feels sudden due to not ever getting a clear answer until what feels like the last minute (in an already stressful situation i may add, as you struggle to understand maligula)
but yes! he really is awful i love that he comes up right at the end, so terrible. i remember getting into the last parts with maligula think âis it really just her? is she really the villain of this game?â and of course she isnt. and gristol such a GOOD terrible villain. because he pads out the need for someone who had true malicious intent, tying together those last holes in the plot. like, its great that so many characters get a story to allow them to change, but there is also a point where thats not how it always goes. and in this case with a story that hits so much harder, Gristol is a great addition. because this story was so much more high stakes than the first, and it really just upped the stakes right at the end as everything is coming together.
i also found his mind to be so interesting. everything about it was made up. part of me kept think âthis is so damn boringâ but i think thats my instinct as having ridden Its A Small World a few times before lol. because its such a good design for his character. its all made up to be a retelling of his life that validates him and only him. hes in his own little bubble of what he considers the truth and it also seems obvious no ones ever had the chance to challenge that in him as he seems to have gone straight from his home to running away with his family- who likely never told him the right story either.
the twists PN2 threw out were just great, i agree. from maligula to gristol, every one of them got me tbh! every character in the new game really gets me but i cannot say i expected maligula or gristol to be such stand-out ones for me either lol.

This is the medic berth sharing anon, and I forgot to add, what if when talking to a bot(not necessarily a medic), the conversation some how drifted to where the human just casually mentions that professional cuddling is A Thing, and what would the reactions be?
I've got a lot here as a follow up because once again, your ideas inspire me anon! Prepare for a wall of text!
Rodimus
¡He's not necessarily surprised, because your species is so incredibly soft, why not have humans who specialize in using that talent? But he's still never considered it before, and is curious as to how one becomes a "proffesional" at something so basic, and what kind of training it could possibly entail.
¡Hearing that it's more for humans who have endured trauma, or humans who come from cultures or backgrounds where such contact is frowned upon, makes him a little sad. He's an affectionate bot and can't imagine not having access to something so simple, but then realizes their own species could perhaps do with some physical affection based therapy, not that he feels qualified to suggest such a thing...
Drift
¡After a brief request for more information he's delighted by the sound of the practice, even if he doesn't have all the details. Creating harmony through positive energy and healing through affection is a personal ideal of his, and to hear another species practicing it is quite uplifting!
¡It's unfortunate it isn't widely practiced, but the mere fact it exists is enough to give him some inspiration, so he asks for as many facts as you can give. With a bit of planning he absolutely intends to pursue this for Cybertronians, even if by just bringing it up as a proposal, and hopefully Ratchet will be willing to give it a chance!
Ultra Magnus/Minimus Ambus
¡Initially he needs you to repeat yourself and explain in more depth, because he's certain he heard you wrong. How can one do something so common "professionally"? It takes a fair amount of conversation and a lot of context for him to understand the therapeutic aspect, which he begins to see once you also lay out what a social species humans are and how damaging solitude can be.
¡The idea of healing through affectionate contact is something he can grasp, at least. Cybertronians aren't so different, though many such needs have long been neglected, and he is doubtful it could catch on until a significant amount of restoration is done. He'd be interested in seeing it happen, and can see how it would benefit a war ravaged population, provided there is proper licencing for those who wish to pursue it.
Ratchet
¡He's immediately intrigued, but not at all surprised, and discusses the similarities such a practice reveals between humans and Cybertronians. As imposing as bots may be, they're still a social species, and a lack of physical affection can do great harm. Also like humans, bots tend to be unaware of the depth of the need until they're suffering.
¡Talking about it really gets him thinking. They've neglected a lot to win the war, and now that they're here, needs like this should come back into focus. It would certainly be worth it to encourage such things where he can, even if bots don't understand or believe in the benefits. They may not have proffesional cuddlers, but this ship is undoubtedly bursting with lonely bots who'd be willing to give it a try.
Rung
¡As a kind of therapy, it's entirely new to him, but the benefits are exceptionally clear even before you elaborate. Bots are a caring and tender species under all that armor, despite the image the war has created, so he can see that humans would find solace in such a thing due to their similarities. Being a proponent of slow and measured healing also makes the idea quite agreeable.
¡He discusses the possible changes one would have to make for Cybertronians, which would probably be somewhat significant due to their differences in size, anatomy, and cultural practices. The basic idea could still stay though, especially for the many traumatized not just by battle, but by the shortage of tender intimacy the war created in its stead. He'll absolutely write a paper on this, and he actually feels it's worth publishing! Should you suggest he'd be a natural at providing such care he will blush for a multitude of reasons.
Swerve
¡He keeps it to himself, but his first emotion is one of absolute longing. Someone to just hold you, and comfort you, with the skill of a therapist but the gentle embrace of a friend? He plays it off like he sees it as another quirky human thing, but he subtly prods for more information under the veneer of casual conversation, and starts wishing his own kind had an equivalent.
¡As much as he'd prefer having someone who just wants to be with him like that as a friend, the idea of a proffesional is still tempting beyond belief, and he wonders if the increased interaction between your species might make some bots pick up the trade. Just enjoying the simple, uninterrupted company of another for a bit would be heavenly, but he's absolutely not willing to say that out loud.
Skids
¡Knowing that slow and steady therapy works, he can definitely see that being helpful, even if he doubts he'd ever get anything out of something like that. He likes to move and have fun when he socializes, and sitting still with someone would probably just end in a nap for him, not that he minds the idea of that too much...
¡One thing he is curious about is the statistics of the occupation, as baffling as they may be. Why are the proffesionals mostly female and the clients mostly male? Don't humans, like bots, long for affection no matter their physical makeup? An explanation of stereotypes and gender roles and everything involved on that front just makes him think he needs a drink.
Whirl
¡Of course he cracks a few jokes about tiny squishy humans needing to be mushed, but it's in good humor, because he actually gets it pretty much right away. The whole idea is a sappy one, but all of therapy is sappy, and you can thank brains for being so darn easy to trick up with feelings for that little design flaw.
¡He explains that the biggest part of you to hurt when someone screws you over is your sense of trust, so something that makes you be super vulnerable is obviously the way to fix it, at least for some. After emphasizing how he'd never benefit from such a thing, he posits that cuddling is potentially the most dangerous thing you can do, making folks willing to try it on thr regular with strangers pretty damn brave. His logic on the ease of stabbing while snuggling is not one you can argue.
Chromedome
¡Fully aware of the chaos life can bring, he immediately gets why someone would want a little time to relax with someone calm, even if it's more of a clinical session than a platonic bonding. Admittedly the lack of concrete guidelines does worry him a little once he hears the qualifications are rather loose, but is anything perfect?
¡Being a bot who fully gets how desperate a suffering individual will go, he can't help but consider what a benefit such simple pain relief could be, but also mourns for those who don't have access to something so... basic. Suffice to say he gets ample cuddling, and knows full well how precious every moment is.
Rewind
¡Being so focused on memory has taught him the emotional impact even a little encounter can have, so he isn't at all surprised some species would have learned to utilize this, only that his own hasn't. Being such a varied and armored species can make any intimacy difficult, but that hardly means they're strangers to snuggling after all.
¡The thought of such loneliness can't help but make him a little sad, especially when he learns many of the humans seeking out this service are in relationships. Not a day goes by for him without hand holding or hugs or nuzzles... He hopes your species makes this more common as therapy for their own sake.
Cyclonus
¡Initially he's a bit bewildered, though many aspects of earth culture bewilder him, and further discussion does little to help him grasp the concept or its benefits. It seems silly and, at least internally, he can't help but perceive it as inappropriate. It isn't until you elaborate on why humans seek this service out that he begins to get some clarity.
¡Hearing about how many human cultures frown on caring contact in virtually any situation, even between partners, is a little alarming. He knows the struggle of expressing emotions after even allowing yourself to feel them, but to be so caged by tradition that one needs secret contact with a proffesional for a taste of warmth or companionship... well, that's unfortunate.
Tailgate
¡Immediately you see him perk up, as if the mere mention of cuddling catches his attention. He asks lots of questions, some on the proffesion and others on the ways humans express care, and while saddened that the job is needed he's happy that help is there for those who need it.
¡You're then given an enthusiastic but confidential talk on how he's finally getting all the hugs he needs with Cyclonus, who will never admit it but he's certain is benefiting from the cuddling as much as he is. While not aware of the six million years he was out, it's felt as if his body is, and thus he's been eagerly catching up with loving snuggles whenever possible. Speaking of which, want a hug?
Velocity
¡She's not at all caught off guard by the idea, as it makes a lot of sense for the sake of mental health, especially to a doctor of a species that could use the practice. While Caminus has been spared the war between factions, it's unfortunately not a haven for emotional wellbeing either. The need to stand out and meet cultural requirements of frugality forces many to be just as reserved with their needs as the humans seeking out help that you describe.
¡She wonders if it'd be possible to introduce something like that to her own people, if not on Cybertron. But there's a lot of cultural resistance, just as she's sure you've seen on earth, to taking care of oneself even for such a basic need. She expresses respect for humans on actually taking the steps to improve.
Nautica
¡As with all new things, she's immediately interested in learning the full depth of the subject, both inside and out. If you don't know it all that's okay! She can just plough through a few books and then she'll feel like she's got it down! This means she wants to know about human therapy, affection, cultural hindrances, the neurochemtistry of physical contact... Anything you know to start on these subjects would be helpful.
¡Before and after her quick study break, her biggest takeaway is the huge taboo humans have placed on touching, something she can barely wrap her head around. Sure, bots have unnecessary hangups as well, but casual taction just... happens? Why would any culture have issues with that? Even as someone who occasionally trips up and crosses physical boundaries, she knows that space is important, but it's not meant to be a barrier. You'll let her know if you need a break from what sounds like an exhausting mindset, won't you? She's always here for a quick hug or even just a shoulder pat!
Megatron
¡All talk of human culture once made him cringe, not out of disgust, but out of an admittedly deserved guilt. With you he's at least opening up to conversation on the topic, and this is one of the things he needs a bit of elaboration on, as his bafflement is so great you can see it on his face. His experience with physical affection being nonexistent doesn't make it any easier for him to follow.
¡When you mention the concept of being "touch starved" he finally gets it, but has a less than thrilling realization himself. He's never heard a word describe his deeply buried longing so effectively, and your talk of earth culture occasionally stifling people to the point of needing these services strikes a nerve he hadn't known was so tender. As with every other vulnerability in his life, he buries it down and secures the weakness firmly away, keeping his expression neutral as he pretends the topic is just another curiosity.

So many questions about one (1) cyborg
The last post I reblogged reminded me of some of the stuff I enjoy thinking about when it comes to Genosâ brain, his body and how the two might function in tandem. If youâve read my fanfiction and/or ever discussed the topic with me, you know that itâs something I love talking about.
I have no training or special knowledge in any field that might come in handy to solve these kind of questions. So I definitely donât have the answers, but I love thinking about them anyway. The human mind is fascinating in its own right and adding the concept of a mechanical body makes it even more exciting. Iâm going to present some of the stuff I think about re: Genos as questions, without answers, because we donât have them. One day we might, or not. If you too like this subject, you might enjoy thinking up answers for the questions. If you want to, feel free to reply or reblog with your answers. I will add my own headcanons in a separate reblog and I would love to hear your theories! All questions are SFW.
Let's go!
Basic background: Genos is a 19 years old full body cyborg. He has been a cyborg for four years. He does not remember most of his pre-surgery days. We do not know any of the details of his surgery or recovery process. He has said that he was at the end of his strength and that he was weak when Kuseno found him, but that could really mean anything.Â
Doctor Kuseno wants Genos to be able to live as much as a normal human as possible. He has hinted that both of them have been fumbling in the dark, finding their way together. Dr. Kuseno appears grateful towards Saitama, but there are also many struggles between Saitama and Genos in understanding the other and their intentions.
Questions about Genos body modification surgery: - Do you think Genos was near death, moderately injured or mildly injured/unhurt at the time of body modification surgery? Each option will give different implications, especially if Genos ever reaches a point of questioning his choices. - Do you think Genos had all his body converted at once or in steps? If the latter, was it intentional to easen the stress on his body/mind or the result of further injuries? Was there any infection/rejection from his body? - Did he require physical therapy after conversion? What did that look like? Any other kinds of therapy or training to get back on his feet? Questions about his brain & body cooperating: - How do you think Genos sees, hears, smells, feels and tastes the world? - Do you think Genos has control over his body in a way a regular person doesn't? If so, how? Are there other things that we might be able to control, that he can't? - Do you think Genos has ever dealt with phantom limb pain? Do you think he ever struggled with replacing parts of his body and/or accepting new parts as part of himself? - Do you think he ever struggles with, for instance, falling asleep or waking up because his brain and body aren't in perfect sync? Or how he exepriences certain stimuli, bugs in his system etc. - How do you think having/using his proximity sensors and other additional information on his HUD affects him? - Do you think it he had any problems getting used to his new body? For instance, imagine no longer having a heartbeat or a pulse. No longer bleeding, getting used to seeing wires, to exchange skin with metal. Do you think he ever struggled with spatial awareness, gauging the correct strength when gripping something etc? - How much do you think Genos is involved in the decision process when designing his body? For instance, take the latest body, dubbed the "dragon body". Do you think he or Kuseno decided on that colour scheme, not to mention all the spikes and plates? - Why do you think Genos has forgotten so much of his past? Is it due to the trauma, due to the surgery, a combination? Something else all together? - Do you think a full body cyborg is likely to have a lifespan comparable to the average human, longer or shorter? Do you think a full body cyborg might be at increased/decreased risk for any particular conditions?
Questions about staying fit for fight & daily life: - Genos has a mechanical body but his brain still requires nutrients. What do you think Genos needs to/likes to eat? - ONE has stated that Genos goes to dr. Kuseno for scheduled maintenance but can do basic repairs himself. Do you think it took time to get used to doing repairs on yourself, such as opening up your arm to fix a broken joint? - What kind of morning routine do you think he has? Weekly/monthly routine? Does he use any special cyborg products? Do you think there are stores selling cyborg related products in their world? If not, where do you think he gets hold of them? - ONE and Murata seem to have different ideas on how Genos sleeps. ONE has drawn him sleeping on a futon like a regular person, while Murata has suggested he sits in a corner and charges. What do you think? Do you think he needs more, less or equal amounts of sleep, compared to a regular person? - We know that Genos gravitates towards expensive/designer clothes. Do you think he has to make any special considerations when he chooses what to wear? Â Do you think some materials suit him better than others? Do you think he ever feels aversion to any particular material or something else related to wearing clothes? - What do you think Genos' hair feels like? Do you think he uses regular shampoo/conditioner or different products? Do you think he ever experimented with other colours/styles than the ones we're familiar with? - What do YOU think are the secret function of his earrings, that ONE has hinted at?!
#some of these definitely aren't open questions I'm sorry lol#but they're all ones I do or have thoughts about in the past!!#I'll try to write my own answers now...#meta#about genos

is book of nile your favorite ship?
Favorite ship in Old Guard fandom? ABSOLUTELY
Favorite ship of all time?
Yeah. I thought about it, and yeah.
The shocking volume of fanworks Iâve produced about these two in the past (checks watch) half-year is definitely in part because of quarantine (are we still gonna call it quarantine even though that means 40 days and itâs been over a year??) but when it comes down to it itâs because Nile is my character I relate to (affectionate) and Booker is my character I relate to (derogatory) and their backgrounds and hangups and flaws and possibilities and chemistry are so tailor-made for me that my OTPs of past fandoms (Sam/Steve, Matt/Mohinder, Remus/Sirius, Buffy/Spike) canât compare.
Iâve always been a multishipper and Iâll happily read fic where Booker and his first wife are still happily married and Nile meets non-betrayers closer to her own age who make her blissfully happy. And Iâm in the midst of writing a fic where Nile and Sam are cousins and the action happens when Nile is barely giving Booker the time of day and Sam dumped Steveâs ass due to Steveâs post-Civil War AU nonsense. (Unfortunately this means Sarah Wilson is also Nileâs cousin, because otherwise I am here for that pairing.)
(It occurs to me that in this post I made yesterday I didnât mention Nile/Dizzy or Nile/Jay and thatâs because for personal reasons I am beyond pissed at Nileâs squad for being upset that she survived. But in the right AU, yes please! Nile/Dizzy as exes on sort-of good terms is a personal fave of mine in no-powers AUs and if I were into reader insert it would be me/Jay all day long)
But I think one of the reasons Book of Nile has grabbed me so deeply is this pairing feels like the post-therapy evolution of Buffy/Spike. I was a teenager when Buffy was on the air and I was in an abusive household and the idea of everyone telling you youâre bad but you want to be good but you have to fight really hard to be good just did something for me at a time when I didnât have enough access to therapy yet to understand that those two had chemistry like lightning largely because they were reenacting their traumas on each other. And here come Booker and Nile, whoâve both made some very bad choices, Nile worse than Booker if you ask the people of Afghanistan, but they both want to do good and theyâre both fighting to be ok and get better and they happen to meet each other at life-defining turning points for both of them. Am I the only one? Iâd love to hear from other BoN shippers who were into Spuffy once upon a time.
(PS Iâve always ESPECIALLY been a multishipper in Cap fandom and I equally adore SamSteve and SamBucky and Stucky and Steggy and BuckyNat and SamNat and if thereâs ever a Peggy comes to the future AU where she gets with Sam I would like to see it)

Some Meta on Murdock and mental illness
Generally speakig, The A-Team is a dumbass, light-hearted comedy with action on the same level as youtube poop videos. Obviously there isnât alot of depth to be found here. The show had tons of different writers, all with their own take on Murdock and none of them offer any clear info or a proper backstory for the character. Itâs basically up to the audience to fill in the blanks and thatâs exactly what Iâm gonna do by overanalyzing the mess that is the showâs canon.
The question of whether Murdock is âââreally crazy or just fakingâââ has been around for over 30 years, but Iâm gonna argue that heâs both.
When Kelly visits Murdock in the psychiatric hospital and confronts him about why heâs living there in the first place he gets instantly uncomfortable.
He really didnât want her to ask, itâs why heâs been avoiding her. Joking about how youâre hashtag crazy⢠is easy; having to admit that youâve been institutionalized for over 10 years because you have legitimate problems is much harder. (Sure, the VA also gives him a convenient cover from the military police, but if that was the only reason for him to stay he wouldnât react to Kellyâs question in this way). âItâs a long storyâ, is all he says. There are clearly some painful memories here that heâd rather not delve into.
Heâd have to explain how he got committed in the first place. We know that after the gang was arrested for war crimes in â71, Murdock was still serving as a pilot in â72. They never clarified when and how Murdock was sent home, but iâm guessing without his only friends around and it being, you know...war, his mental health eventually deteriorated until he received a medical discharge straight into the VA hospital.
After Murdock gets wrongly released in season 1, instead of his friends being worried about his supposed cover getting blown they just shrug it off and go âOh well!â (This could all be due to the showâs inconsistent writing, but you know)
No longer being an inpatient would finally allow Murdock to be employed as a pilot again (his #1 passion), and yet he seems really disheartened about the situation. Even though the hospital gives him no privacy, the staff barely respects him and he spends most of his time there by himself, he still prefers to stay.
For a character whoâs allegedly cheery comic relief, he sure gets his feelings hurt alot, mainly when dealing with other peopleâs ableism towards him. B.A. and Face are obviously just palling around, just guys beinâ dudes, they donât want to hurt Murdock for real, they probably donât realize how sensitive Murdock is about the subject. Usually he plays along or shrugs it off, but sometimes he gets genuinely upset. In the first half of In Plane Sight heâs so fed up with it he tries to ââact normalââ until #Woke #Queen Hannibal reassures him that they love him the way he is.
PTSD was barely starting to become a diagnosis when the show first aired, but I think itâs fair to say he suffers from it. The pilot episode states that he has anxiety, paranoia and memory loss, so that checks out.
With PTSD you donât just have to deal with flashbacks and nightmares, but also intrusive thoughts, images and memories about your trauma. Murdock copes with it by getting hyperfixated on a new activity or pretending heâs someone else. This is were alot of people will go ââhaha wow look how wacky and insane he is! Heâs talking to his sock đââ. But Murdock knows itâs all made up nonsense, he just needs his mind to focus on something else. Whatâs important here is that he never lets his coping mechanisms distract him when heâs flying, first of all heâs already focused and also he doesnât wanna crash (lol). Thereâs a believability to his actions thatâs missing in the 2010 reboot.
In the episode where the gang helps out the vietnamese cook from the POW camp where theyâve been tortured, Murdock tries to distract himself with some golfballs. He soon starts projecting his trauma on them however.
I think this is the only time in the show where Hannibal tears up, so this scene is kinda significant. As the leader, he probably blames himself for getting his team captured and tortured, and seeing that Murdock is still so strongly affected by it gotta hurt.Â
Compared to the rest of the gang, Murdockâs alot more fucked up over the war. There are subtle changes in his voice whenever he talks about it. In the ep about their old war buddy Ray, Face was reminiscing about how cool of a guy Ray was for borrowing him his helmet, Murdockâs memories meanwhile are much less upbeat. âMy bird was the only one left in the skyâ he remembers while we see an image of a field filled with shot down helicopters. His experiences are bound to be different from the other three as a huey medevac pilot. Murdock did have one off-screen breakdown in the present timeline, after collecting every newspaper article about the upcoming execution of the team in Firing Line. Apparently it was bad enough that he had to be restrained. Itâs been 10 years, so heâs recovering and getting better, but heâs still not all there yet.
Everyone knows Murdockâs just messing around when heâs being interrogated by the military about his connections to the team, but like what about when the military isnât there; or NO ONE is. He often talks to himself or just puts weird shit in his mouth for no reason while nobodyâs paying attention to him (eating leaves, paint, an entire raw egg, a frozen sandwich). Sometimes heâs just unhinged like that.
Another thing thatâs brought up a few times in the show is his anxiety. Murdockâs often seen being generally tense, sweaty, uncomfortable or reflective in the background of a scene. (I have no idea if this was a deliberate acting choice but Dwight does have anxiety irl so who knows if that had anything to do with it, I mean who knowsssssss, iâm just observing)
Heâs got a habit of fidgeting with his hands or touching his neck when heâs stressed out. Murdock also does it when heâs telling his psychiatrist Dr. Richter about his dreams âIf you were me, wouldnât you be terrified to put your head down?â he asks him.
Richter isnât really paying attention though, because heâs so used to Murdockâs non-stop clownery, he canât exactly tell when his patient decides to be honest about his feelings for once. He just replies âWell only if it was a bad dreamâ. Which really irritates Murdock because what other dreams besides bad would he have? So he derails the session by rambling some made up bullshit on purpose.
Richter knows that Murdock uses humor and fantasy to cope, but heâs obviously tired of Murdockâs cringe antics, he just wants to help him. But Murdock doesnât like to open up and be confronted with his traumas again, he just wants to avoid talking about it all together. There are still parts of reality that Murdockâs not ready to deal with, or he wouldnât always retreat into his fantasies.
Before he can continue messing around a helicopter passes by and Murdock freezes for a second. Richter assures him that the helicopter is real; Murdock nods and starts fidgeting with his hands again, seemingly in deep thought. We know from the season 4 finale that he hears the sound of rotor blades when he dissociates. He was definitely being sincere here.
After getting drugged by some military goons he has a few brief flashbacks (feat. cheesy 80â˛s neon filters): seeing the chopper fly away, getting stuck in a potted plant as if he was walking through the jungle, being surrounded by heavy smoke and sparks from the burning carpet).
Despite being the 2nd highest ranked team member, Murdock dislikes being in charge and gets severly distressed when anything goes wrong that he might even be slightly responsible for. Most notably is the episode where the owners of the diner get kidnapped after Murdock got knocked out by evil cowboys or hill billies or whatever they were. Instead of telling anyone what happened, heâs just lying on the floor, repeatedly calling himself a failure until the others show up.
Seems like Murdock gets startled more easily than the rest of the crew as well. We often see him flinch when guns go off; one time he literally wore fluffy ear muffs to a backalley shootout.
This short moment from Family Reunion always stood out to me. Face opens the van door a little too quickly and it takes Murdock so off-guard he has to take deep breaths to calm down.
Murdock sounds exhausted when he has to remind Face not to sneak up on him. Face also realizes he messed up, he just wanted to check up on Murdock and not trigger him on accident.
When it comes to portrayals of mental illness in fiction thereâs obviously better representation out there than Murdock. But sometimes you just wanna see a mentally ill character have a good time instead of being miserable 24/7. And Murdockâs already got the worst behind him, heâs had therapy for years and friends who love him. I just think thatâs refreshing to see, especially with a character whoâs so kind and openly affectionate.

ani....morphs.....
ok so picking up after the david trilogy, which hit hard as FUCK, we have book 23, which basically was a semi truck that ran over my corpse, jesus christ, they really followed up the david trilogy w/all that....
23 was so so good and also painful. its the culmination of a lot of tobiasâs characterization in the series thus far and also we finally get the reveal weâve been waiting for about elfangor....ooooh manÂ
and there was a lot of painful stuff in this book but the worst imo was tobias wondering if it were possible that somebody wanted him and would take care of him, only to have it all come crashing down in the worst way when it turned out aria was visser three in morph, ouch.Â
that was so brutal augh. and when he figured it out and just crash landed and kept thinking about how he wanted to die and how he was stupid to think he could have a home...bro get these kids some THERAPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Â
so yeah that book was absolutely brutal but also so good...and it further fleshed out the animorphs working as a near-flawless team, w/the whole setup of tobias meeting w/the lawyer being so airtight and well-plannedÂ
also more free hork bajir!! its cool that there's stuff happening w/them offscreen, I like thatÂ
I literally had to take a break from reading the books bc the david triology + 23 was like so much, and also bc the olympics were on and all my time got dedicated to watching those, but then I opened 24, not sure what to expect, and BAM it was the helmacrons lmaoooo
I don't even remember the helmacrons but ig a lot of people hate them? lmao so that whole reputation preceded the book and I was like oh wow time for a change in tone
which wasn't wrong but also I liked that book?? I was never bored, even tho the whole thing was patently ridiculous and also had very little bearing on the overarching story
but I think it would be a standout if it were a TV episode w/a good budget - the visuals were amazing even in text, and I can imagine all the cool shrinking/growing/cellular stuff would be WICKED cool visually (ideally 2d animation but an ant man-esque live action adaptation wouldn't be terrible if they had the budget for it)
whatever let me dream. so yeah I didn't hate the helmacron book even tho the helmacrons themselves were...sure something. lmao I think they come back? that should be interesting
next book is the arctic one, we have yet another alien of the week style adventure - I liked this one too, it felt like more plot-y stuff happened since they destroyed the base, and marcoâs POV is always funÂ
I do find it funny/interesting how sometimes when the animorphs do something - like in this book, destroying that base in the arctic - it doesn't really seem to impact the yeerks much/it doesn't get brought up much after that. and then other things like them destroying the ground-based kandrona get mentioned a lot (that example is understandable tho bc that WAS a big deal). its just hilarious to me how blowing up entire building complexes has become so routine that it isnât even worth mentioning at this point
Also I adore when they meet other random people/kids and are chill w/them, like w/that kid they met in the rain forest earlier on w/the time travelÂ
the descriptions of the brutally cold weather were great. I hate the cold so I was like oof this is a nightmare lmao
also ig that was the first ghostwritten book and I did kinda notice it was slightly different than usual? maybe? I could be imagining it thoÂ
okay but book 26 tho...BOOK 26. bruhÂ
that was SO good and I really didnât know what to expect - but when we finally revisited Jakeâs dream w/crayak I knew it was gonna be good (but I didnât expect it to be a chess game war epic..!)
basically I loved it. SUCH a good Jake book - I really appreciate his character now as opposed to when I was 10 and often overlooked him (sorry jake).
similarly, when I was a kid and read these I sympathized a lot w/the chee and felt bad for them towards the end of the series when they had to get more involved in the war (genuinely donât remember what they even do but ik I felt bad)Â
but now I've basically 180â˛d and I'm like damn those chee sure are hypocrites huh.Â
like they could solve So many of the animorphs problems but their stringent adherence to nonviolence leads to them actively getting in the animorphs way sometimes? and obviously pacifism is a complicated topic, but in this case it also intersect w/the whole âchild soldierâ thing, and as beings who are insanely old and wise, the chee probably shouldn't just leave all the dirty work to a bunch of literal middle schoolers
aaaaanyways. thereâs so much I love about this book. the iskoort! they were sure something. and the âplot twistâ that they are actually 2 beings, the Isk and the Yoort - and the Yoort are essentially Yeerks - that slapped. the symbiosis of it all!Â
I loved the part where they all realize what this means, that this is why Crayak wants the iskoort destoryed - because someday the yeerks might come across them and realize parasitism is not the only way. I love it!Â
alas I donât recall the iskoort returning in the story (but also my memory is terrible so who knows?) but still that would be cool
basically I feel like this is the book where Jake Truly comes into his own as a leader, in every sense. he outmaneuvers Crayak, and even the ellimist, whoâs yanking them around in his own way
the scene where jake shoves the howler off the cliff and jumps off and morphs and acquires the howler...that was fantastic and tense.Â
also the murder is definitely becoming more overt. I mean, it has been for a while, but it isnât really pointed out as much anymore. oof
more on the chee - as Jake points out in this book, and other characters point out in other books - the chee could have saved the pemalites, but instead just stood by while their creators were slaughtered. on the other hand, jake says, what do the chee do AFTER theyâve killed the howlers - where to point them next? when is the end of their violence?Â
buuuuut also standing by while atrocities occur is pretty damning, as is frequently mentioned in this series - from the very beginning, when marco initially doesnât want to get involved in the war at all, and the other animorphs basically tell him that turning his back on the war and acting like he doesnât even know itâs happening would be immoral and cowardly (which imo this reaction helps to push marco in the direction he ends up going, but I digress) - this topic comes up again in 19 when cassie quits the team and rachel is upset bc she sees it as cassie elevating her own feelings above the greater good (as in, as long as cassie feels good about how she acts, it doesnât matter how much preventable evil the yeerks are committing while she turns away). etc etc. but thatâs essentially whatâs happening w/the chee - even tho they help w/intel, the lack of any sort of Action on their part means that theyâre essentially allowing awful things to happen when they could prevent them. this is rambly but basically...animorphs deals so much in grey areas, and the chee are noticeably black and white in their actions, despite falling, in a meta sense, in an extremely grey area. its such good, thought provoking writing!
anywayssss I keep talking about the chee lmao what else was there. oh YEAH jake and cassie kissed for the first time awww that was super cuteÂ
and ofc immediately marco teases them as asks jake if heâs gonna kiss him next, and all I can say is...marco is a biconÂ
also I love the background worldbuilding w/the iskoort, how they have all these groups and guilds and stuff - its not dwelled on much, which actually works really well to give the world/species a sense of lived-in realnessÂ
okay oh man and the reveal at the end that the howlers were just like...children who thought the whole thing was a game...AUGHH man thatâs sooo fuckedÂ
like, when jake morphs the howler and has rachel ready to knock him down in grizzly morph if he gets out of control due to the howlerâs murderous instincts, and he morphs to find that the howler is...playful, like a dolphin morph. SUCH a good fucked up sense of dawning horror thereÂ
and the fact that as far as I can tell the chee KNEW this, but wanted revenge anyways, so they let the animorphs assume that the howlers were Evil On Purpose
also I love smaller moments, like jake seeing that ax is ashamed for briefly running away during one battle w/the howlers, and then entrusts him w/an important task bc he knows that ax will see that as redemption - and when everyone thought jake was dead and were so happy when he wasn't (they all love each other so much im gonna cry about these child soldiers augh)
basically that book was so good
man one thing I absolutely love is that the longer the series goes on the more obvious it is that andalites, despite inventing morphing technology, barely use it themselvesÂ
like, most of the andalite characters we see barely morph. its kind of a last resort to them, as theyâre already plenty dangerous in their regular formsÂ
meanwhile for the animorphs, thatâs all they have to fight with. thatâs their only weapons against the yeerks, and its so fun to see them use the power in so many varied ways, and so creatively, while the andalites have barely scratched the surface of their own technology
its also interesting to contrast against the yeerks who start out w/absolutely no technology, and the andalites share some but not all of their technology w/them...its too bad that morphing technology was just starting out cause that wouldâve been interesting
like imo a lot of the conflict w/the yeerks couldâve been avoided if they could just nothlit into better forms - of course, thereâd still be plenty of yeerks who want to go start wars or w/e, just like pretty much any species in the series, but a lot of yeerks would probably be like âyeah I'm goodâ and just chill out as nothlits
also people online love to talk about how humans are alienfuckers and would definitely have sex w/sentient aliens and whatnot, and while I'm not saying that's untrue, its just funny bc in animorphs the truest alienfuckers are definitely the andalites
as of the hork-bajir chronicles, we now have a second instance of an andalite morphing another species to be in an inter-species alien romance (and eventually have kids)Â
speaking of, I donât think Iâve talked abt the hork bajir chronicles yet??? even tho I read it a while ago lmaoÂ
HBC was great...I honestly havenât really run into an animorphs book Iâve actually disliked at this point, Iâm sure itâll come w/all the ghostwriting and whatnot, but Iâve liked at least some aspects of every book
anyways HBC was great, and itâs funny bc I remember that I read this book as a kid, and yet rereading it now I didnât remember a single bit of it lmaooo
I really liked the framing device of the free hork bajir telling this story to tobias. I also liked how we know from the beginning that this story wont have a happy ending - we know all the hork bajir end up enslaved by the yeerks, but itâs still somehow hopeful at the end? I think this is largely due to the framing device tbh.Â
also I love toby, and I love that the First free hork bajir named their kid after tobias ;_;Â
and oooh mannn I LOVED the different POVs from this book. all the characters were so interesting! aldrea was fascinating - I really like the increasingly negative view of the andalites that the readers are getting, all while maintaining the sense that they arenât like, actively evil, just that they have their issues - like aldreaâs arrogance, and the general andalite arrogance which lead to the loss of the hork bajir. also, who knew andalites had their own brand of sexism? Ls
I did like getting a female andalite tho, that was cool. and dak was really cool, he was such a good, compassionate character who was able to maintain his morals in an interesting way throughout the story
and VISSER THREE...or should I say esplin 9466, because heâs not visser 3 yet...getting his âorigin storyâ was excellent - I really like how weâre learning about visser 3 backwards - we start off the series w/him as the main villain, and heâs campy and menacing, and then we see him in the andalite chronicles as a power-hungry sub-visser trying to climb the ranks and eventually getting alloran as a host, and then back even further here, w/the start of his focus on the andalites and the beginning of his ambition. its been very cool and interesting to see
plus, the beginning of the yeerks as we know them! seerow! alloran! itâs a party and nobody is having a good time, except for some of the yeerks.Â
I like how itâs pretty obvious that the andalites are well-meaning with their interactions w/the yeerks, but go about it the wrong way - they give them enough technology that the yeerks realize thereâs a whole world out there to experience, and then they blockade the yeerks on their planet and tell them they canât leave. nnnnot the best approach imo
again, as I said above, Iâm interested in how things couldâve gone if the andalites had given the yeerks morphing technology early on - could a lot of the conflict have been avoided, or would it have been worse? the yeerks seem pretty evil in this book, immediately jumping to enslave anyone they can. otoh we hear from esplin that not all yeerks like having host bodies, and find it overwhelming, preferring to swim around in the yeerk pool as a slug - I assume as host bodies became more available this type of thinking was probably stamped out in yeerk society or w/e, but there are a lot of interesting what-ifs in the situationÂ
I loved the scene where esplin first experiences having a host, and immediately knows he canât go back. there are a bunch of great sensory descriptions, and itâs a nice scene to pinpoint as a foundational moment for the visser three in the current story, who spent a lot of time and energy getting what he sees as the best possible host body, an andalite
I find it interesting how much visser three clearly respects the andalites, even while constantly deriding them. and you can see the origins of that here as he immediately focuses in on the andalites, working to become an expert on them in order to make himself useful enough to move thru the ranks
another thing I like is how esplin seems a lot more crafty and ambitious than the visser three from modern times - I would guess that reaching his goal (andalite host body) and being given all that power was detrimental, playing on his weaknesses instead of his strengths. basically, I donât think itâs ooc or anything, I can see how HBC-esplin became animorphs-esplin, especially w/TAC in between
as for seerow...poor dude. you really do have to feel for him, because you get the sense he really did just want to be kind to the yeerks, but it was borne from a place of pity, and he (and the other andalites) consistently held too much power over the yeerks for the species relations to ever be truly equal and functionalÂ
AUGH I have so many thoughts about alien space politics. omg. I need to talk about the actual story lmao
so yeah I also feel for aldrea, she had a rough time, watching her entire family die and being thrown into a hopeless war
and then the andalite council or w/e not listening to her bc she's a girl AND seerowâs daughter...oof
also, I really really liked the running theme of the andalites - specifically aldrea - looking down on the hork bajir as âsimpleâ and constantly underestimating them, especially dak
and I like how this is portrayed as a bad attitude for aldrea to have, and she still remains and interesting and sympathetic character even while having obvious flaws. itâs about being 3-dimensional baby!
and oh man I love that dak realizes that aldrea looks down on him, and his entire species, but he can see that thatâs how the andalites are, and it all connects back to the beginning of the story w/the yeerks, bc the andalites looked down on the yeerks and treated them with pity and kept them pinned under their proverbial thumb âfor their own goodâ and look how that turned outÂ
but dak is wise and kind enough to not hate aldrea for this, even acknowledging when sheâs using him, but not pushing her away because he recognizes good in her too - and she ends up changing, partially because of his faith in her
and I feel like it can all be compared to that scenario of like - a hypothetical creature that lives in a 2D world suddenly being thrust into a 3D world, and comprehending what its seeing, and understanding that thereâs so much more out there outside of the flat lines of its world - and then its dropped back into 2D-land with the knowledge of all the stuff its missing out on, and no way to get back to it or explain it to anybody else
I loooove that âtropeâ or w/e you wanna call it, and itâs done beautifully here w/the yeerks - whos the say they wouldn't have been fine in their pool swimming around; as esplin said, a lot of the yeerks were terrified of having a host, it was only from the andalitesâ perspective that their lives were sad and pitiful, and the andalites showed them what the world could be like, and then said âno, you canât travel the stars like we do, you have to stay here on your planet and do what we say.â
and then again, w/the hork bajir - dak talks about how, even though he drinks up the knowledge that aldrea gives him, in the end it might have been better to just have lived peacefully, not knowing what was in the sky or the Deep - as aldrea says: âIt was too late for Dak: he knew that the stars were not flowers.âÂ
plus the hork bajir having to go from a completely peaceful species who donât even understand the concept of violence, to a bunch of soldiers fighting a war...oofÂ
basically everyone in this story uses the hork bajir. the yeerks use them as hosts, the andalites use their planet as a convenient place to dump seerow and then take their sweet time coming to help, and the arn created them as means to stabilize the planet, but block them off from their society and refuse to help when the yeerks come
like, the arn modifying themselves to be un-infestable by the yeerks and then being enslaved for physical labor instead? oof guys. if they had teamed up w/the hork bajir resistance things might have gone better, but probably notÂ
more on aldrea - throughout the story I was always thinking âhow am I supposed to see her? as a good person, or as a bad person?âÂ
as a POV character, especially a âgood guyâ andalite, you just start off automatically thinking of her as a good person, but as the story goes on, she starts getting lost in revenge and begins using dak and the hork bajir, and youâre left wondering if this is a story about her slide into darkness, and then towards the end of the story her character development culminates in her making the decision to stay w/the hork bajir, and the be with dak, and thatâs about when I went âohhh right this is animorphs so every character is pretty much gonna be greyâ
I feel like that moral grey-ness was on full display w/aldrea, and I really enjoyed that. I love so much when characters who are good do bad things, for good or bad reasons, especially in media like animorphs thatâs aimed at kids. itâs so compelling.Â
oof, and the ending when aldrea convinces dak to mobilize the hork bajir and teach them violence...and dak asks her if sheâs ever killed another andalite, and sheâs horrified, and says of course she hasnât, and he says that thatâs what sheâs asking him, and all the hork bajir, to do - to kill their own people, even if they are being controlled by the yeerks. biiiig oof. I love that dak can keep up w/aldrea and her andalite supremacy attitude - it seems that the non-andalite characters who get along best w/the andalites are the ones who wont take their bsÂ
what else happened....oh my god how could I forget about alloran, and his quantum virus. oooof. I like how we find out about alloran in parallel to visser three, in the same backwards way - in animorphs heâs the tragic host of visser three, in TAC heâs the disgraced but still semi-respected war-prince who becomes the first ever andalite controller, and here heâs the guy who decides to commit some war crimes because, hey, we havenât tried that yetÂ
but yeah that was fucked up, I love it. Iâve said it before I think but I like that alloran isnât some perfect martyr tragically taken by the yeerks - itâs a lot more compelling that heâs a very flawed person who was taken as a controller partially due to his own bloodthirstiness.Â
but yeah, the part where aldrea morphs alloran and âsneaksâ into that room was great. aldreaâs dedication to disposing of the virus is a great indicator of her character development - it really feels like the straw that broke the camels back w/re: to the andalites not being what she thought they were, w/their tardiness coming to help the hork bajir planet and the way her father was treated being the precursors to this realization. it all culminates nicely in aldrea saying âfuck this actuallyâ and nothlit-ing into a hork bajir.
and itâs really tragic but realistic that even though aldrea and dak end up seeing eye to eye at the end and getting together, the virus ends up being released anyways (and fails in its objective to stop the yeerks from using the hork bajir - the whole thing was p much a lose-lose situation oof), and aldrea and dak still die fighting a hopeless warÂ
but then we have the free hork bajir on earth, including toby, who, like tobias, has andalite ancestry, but no DNA to show for it - I like that they have that connection as well as tobias being her namesake
so yeah I enjoyed that one and its many-layered themes
WOW this got long uuuuuhhh ok I think iâll leave this one off here. at the time Iâm actually finishing the writing and editing, Iâm on book 35 lol so I have some backlogging to do. never fear, I have a lot to say....

My Reaction to âAvengers Endgameâ
Yes- I still havenât seen this movie. Yes I know exactly what happens in this movie. I mainly avoided it for a while due to overhype but with some convincing from my brother, Imma sit my butt down and try to watch this.
Pressing... play!
Right off the bat, I feel like I should warn you guys and say that I have... my opinions... about stuff. Plus Iâm a dumbass about Marvel so just bear with me.
I like that Disney Plus has to warn us about product placement
Clint!
Are we gonna see little Nathaniel running around- THERE he is!
We are gonna see Clintâs entire family get freaking obliterated
Is all the rumbling from the sky or are those airplanes freaking crashing to Earth in the distance?
What if they pulled a reverse WandaVision and showed the people getting snapped out of existence in a future film or show? That would be freaking terrifying.
Theyâre [Tony and Nebula] playing paper football...
I wanna see more of THEIR interactions aboard the Milano. The shots of them just repairing the ship are great too.
âIâm fine. Totally fine.â Everyone ever.
I also like you see the visual difference between Tony and Nebula. While heâs growing gaunt and haggard from loss of oxygen, you can still see that Nebula looks absolutely fine because sheâs like 75% android
So between 1995 and now, what the heck has Carol been up to?
âThanos wiped out... 50% of all living creatures.â So like entire ecosystems are just demolished.
*anthropology major part of my brain scrambling for answers*
âWe lost. And you [Steve] werenât there.â HE WAS IN WAKANDA!
Wait so the arc reactor ISNâT in Tonyâs chest anymore?
âWhere the hell have you [Carol] been all this time?â Good question!
*silently bops to opening theme*
For some reason, I just really want the ship radio to randomly turn on so you just see everyone sitting awkwardly as âPiano Manâ plays over the speakers
*Thanos slowly cooks his food* Faster, all together now! COOKING CAN BE FUN!
âI [Thanos] used the stones to destroy the stones.â ...what?
âI am...[Thanos] inevitable.â *starts humming âInevitableâ from TGWDLM*
âI [Thor] went for the head.â YES YOU DID
[FIVE YEARS LATER] All righty so weâre doing this
*gasps* Is... Steve running the therapy sit downs like Sam did in âThe Winter Soldierâ? Thatâs awesome. I really like this tidbit.
Iâm also really liking Alan Silvestriâs score for this so far
Iâm really trying not to nitpick but I feel like it would take more than 5 years for greenery to just completely overtake a suburban neighborhood
Also wow pre COVID life looks great you guys
âThereâs a part of me that doesnât even wanna find him.â Are they talking about... Clint? Is Clint just going the full vigilante route?
DOES HE KILL PEOPLE?!?
I really like Steve and Natashaâs friendship in these movies but for some reason I donât feel like we get enough of Natasha for me to get behind her on an emotional standpoint
Are they gonna use the quantum realm to jumpstart the multiverse for Phase 4?
Also speaking of multiverse, I honestly really donât want Spiderman:Â No Way Home or Wandavision to get too cluttered by that
I like Tonyâs lake house. And he got a whole vegetable garden going too. Kudos!
The little kid who plays Morgan Stark is adorable
âNot if we strictly follow the rules of time travel.â Which we obviously wonât.
âWeâre gonna need a really big brain.â So where the [expletive] is Banner?
âStranger danger.â *snorts*
âDab!â *rolls eyes*
So is the whole Professor Hulk thing permanent? I know heâs gonna be in the She-Hulk show but Iâm wondering how theyâre gonna tackle that. And theyâre gonna have Tim Roth too!
*smiles when Tony takes Morgan to bed*
Steve Rogers here [when they do the first time travel tests] is a Look â˘
Maybe donât let the GIANT GREEN MAN keep pressing a bunch of tiny tiny important buttons on a dashboard
*laughs at Steve shaking his head in disbelief when they finally bring Scott back*
*Tonyâs car races toward the Avengers base*Â NYOOOMMMM
*Tony rolls down his window*Â Itâs Britney, bitch
âAnd maybe not die trying.â And you definitely will.
This whole bit where Scott keeps losing his dorito only to get another one from Bruce feels like a Doritos commercial.
*jams out to "Supersonic Rocket Ship by The Kinks*
Did they just keep reducing the green pigment for Hulk or what?
*sighs when they reveal Fat!Thor*
MIEKâS ALIVE!
Please tell me Noobmaster69 is Kid Loki, whom we meet in the Loki series
âDonât... say that name.â âYeah we actually donât say that name here.â I like this. I like that Thor has so much resentment for killing Thanos at the wrong time and that he felt that could have done better cause heâs A GOD. So the fact that THANOS was on equal level and BEAT HIM-
Hawkeyeâs killing people
This sword fightâs great [between the Yakuza person and Clint]
WHY DIDNâT THEY BUILD ON THIS [Clint and Natashaâs connection] ???
*laughs when Rhodey suggests killing baby Thanos*
These shots of Clint going through the Quantum Realm looks like something straight out of Andy Parkâs concept art and thatâs awesome
âWell I [Scott] havenât [encountered an Infinity Stone] but I donât even know what the hell youâre all talking about.â *snorts*
âThe Aether, firstly, is not a stone.â Thank you!
The little glance Nebula gives after Thor mentions the Dark Elves just make me think that somewhere down the road, she has either A) encountered them or B) has encountered other Asgardians besides Thor
âGuys if you pick the right year, there are three stones in New York.â âShut the front door.â *laughs*
Also underrated trio: Steve, Natasha, and Bruce. Gimme more.
Wait a minute, in 2012, Doctor Strange wasnât active yet. So are they gonna go see- OOOOOOOHHHHHH
[NEW YORK 2012] Oh here we go
*cracks up when Bruce very half-assedly smashes stuff on the street*
âIâm looking for Doctor Strange.â âYouâre about five years too early.â Wait a minute.
HOW DOES SHE [the Ancient One] KNOW?!?
*giggles at Thor and Rocket sneaking in the background with a bored Loki in focus*
âThatâs my [Thorâs] mother. She dies today.â I love this scene already.
Also WHY IS THOR- or the Thor films in general- have like the most well written characters in the whole canon?
Itâs those movies, Guardians 2, The Winter Soldier, Civil War, aaand.... I canât think of any more of them.Â
Oh yeah and WANDAVISION cause THAT HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK-
Rocket just said he thinks of the Guardians as his family Iâm gonna die...
What about their [Natasha and Rhodeyâs] friendship?!? I want more of that!
âRonanâs obsession... clouds his judgment.â ...HUH
*Thanos uses his sword to lift up Nebulaâs chin*Â Aw heck no
âAs far as Iâm concerned, thatâs Americaâs ass.â *has to take a second before nodding in agreement*
Wait is that Jasper Stillwell?
âFlick me.â That bit alone could be taken out of context
âWeâre in route to Doctor List.â Whoâs Doctor List? Is that a code name?
âHail Hydra.â THE BASTARDS WENT AND DID IT
Please tell me this hand off scene is gonna be the opening for the Loki show. Please tell me this is gonna happen.
*Loki takes the Tesseract again*Â AND HEâS GOOONNNEE!!
LETâS GET TO FREAKING JUNE ALREADY!
*ends up quoting âYeah, I know, I knowâ along with Steve*
Iâm really glad Tilda Swinton actually came back for this cameo
*keeps slapping my laptop screen when people keep saying Doctor Strange made a mistake when it was an explicit point in Infinity War where he encountered 14 million other AUs to find the best result*
Are you telling me that this whole plan could derail because Nebula accidentally hacked into her own WiFI network? Are you seriously doing this?
*Thanos and Ebony Maw scan Nebulaâs duplicate memory bank and track her down*Â Are you freaking kidding me?
...I have 96 minutes left?!?
âThe future hasnât been kind to you [Thor], has it?â Frigga is underrated
So for these shots with Jane, are they just reusing different shots from Thor 2 or just footage from deleted scenes?
Can we talk about how Frigga is absolutely the best parent Thor has? Meanwhile her husband ODIN is like âoh yeah by the way you have a secret sister totes magotes iâll die now byeeeeâ
*sings along with âCome and Get Your Loveâ by Redbone*
*laughs when we cut to Quill just very badly singing along to his iPod in the distance*
I want a bonus short with just Rhodey and Nebula doing their thing
*Nebula gets her memory taken over by 2014 Thanos*Â Nooooooo...
Are the glasses that Tony wears here part of EDITH from âFar From Homeâ or are they like a prototype?
Also I havenât seen âFar From Homeâ yet because Sony hates me
Doctor Zola?!?
*jams out to the music playing when we see Hank Pymâs lab*
âA little girl would be nice. Less of a chance that sheâll end up exactly like me [Howard Stark].â *gasps softly*
Oh my God, heâs [Steve] in Peggyâs office
Alan Silvestri is really killing it with this score
JARVIS!!
Wait and thatâs the guy from âAgent Carterâ!
Ohhh that shotâs [of Thanosâs ship coming out of the clouds] awesome...
*2014 Nebula hands Thanos the Pym particles*Â Oh are you kidding me...
The CGI for Red Skull is also awesome
*gasps when Natasha reveals that she never knew her dadâs name when Red Skull told it to her*
*is super bummed out when Natasha sacrifices herself*
Kevin Feige really went and said âso Phases 3 and 4 are gonna make everybody cryâ and the writers went âYESâ
Wait doesnât Cap go and return the stones at the end of the movie? Howâs he gonna handle meeting Red Skull on Vormir then?
âItâs like... I [Bruce] was made for this.â Please someone get Mark Ruffalo his own Hulk movie before he combusts from giving out more spoilers
So Thanos used the Pym particles to time travel then. Honestly thatâs kinda genius
I just noticed that Scott shrank himself right as the explosion hit the windows
I really want someone to just drop one F-bomb somewhere in the MCU and I really hope itâs Clint because he would 100% say it
*starts singing âHollaback Girlâ when Thanos arrives*
Hereâs my question; how did Thanos acquire Nebula then? With Gamora, it was with the genocide of her people.
âWe [Gamora to Nebula] can stop him.â LETâS GO!
[Thor uses his storm powers to summon both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir] *softly* Ohhhhh thatâs badass...
Now Iâm just imagining the cast just in the green screen room just hitting Josh Brolin with a bunch of foam weapons and making all the sound effects while poor Josh is just struggling under the weight of the Thanos reference head on his mocap suit
Who does the voice for FRIDAY?
AN:Â Irish actress named Kerry Condon
*Steve deems himself worth to wield Mjolnir*Â OKKAAYY OKAAYY
Love how Thanos is like âyes, Iâm gonna stab you with an AXEâ
âIn all my years of conquest...â Steve you suuuucckkk...
Are we getting the Chitauri again?
âOn your left.â *laughs incredulously* O-ohhh my God...
*Everyone starts coming out of the portals*Â Oh my God Iâm getting chills
I would have lost my mind in the theater
I HAVE ACTUAL GOOSEBUMPS RUNNING ALL OVER ME. This is how good this is
WAIT ARE THOSE THE RAVAGER SHIPS ABOVE THEM?!?
âAvengers... assemble.â Oh my God this is amazing!
MâBAKU!
Also âEndgameâ really just said âWe are KILLING FOOLS TODAYâ
How are they gonna tackle Peter and Gamoraâs relationship in Guardians 3?
[Horn plays La Cucaracha] LETâS GO
God Iâm gonna turn feral
*has to pause to scream in excitement when Wanda touches down in front of Thanos to fight him*
*puts hands on head*Â OHH MY GOOOOODDDDD
Theyâre literally just playing Keep Away with a teenage boy. Marvel, everybody.
*Captain Marvel destroys Thanosâs ship*Â WELL IT TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH
OK I got mixed feelings about that [the girl power team up scene]
*Thanos unsuccessfully headbutts Carol*Â Oh shit!
*Doctor Strange holds up one finger*Â Oh my God this is it
Someone definitely tore off when Thanos pushed Tony off
It was in that moment he [Thanos] knew- he effed up
*All of Thanosâs army dissipates*Â Byeee...
Is it bad that Iâm not crying at Tonyâs death?
*gasps when Peter reunites with Ned at school*
Wait the whole time heist takes place within ONE DAY?
âI love you 3000.â I really hope we see Morgan again somewhere in one of the movies or shows. Actually a cool way to reincorporate her would be in the Ironheart series whenever they make it
Even Drax is wearing black!
Itâs the âWe should be getting therapy but we got a TV show insteadâ trio [Wanda, Bucky, and Sam]
Wait is that guy- was that guy- the little kid from Iron Man 3?
AN:Â Yes
So right after this funeral, Wandaâs gonna storm SWORD right?
AN:Â This was finished up on 2/26 so probably YES
*Thor crowns Valkyrie the new leader of New Asgard*Â I now cannot wait for âThor Love and Thunderâ
Wait Peterâs looking for Gamora!
Still cannot believe that the time travel suits are completely CGI
I know they had a body double for Chris Evans here but I do think it would have been cool if they used the body doubleâs voice for Old Steve instead of Chris trying to sound old
He [Steve] put the shield in an art portfolio bag...
*says âNo, no I donât think I willâ along with Steve*
*silently jams out to âItâs Been a Long, Long Timeâ playing during the credits*
Wait and that was the song Fury was playing in âWinter Soldierâ
Oh they even got the actual signatures! Thatâs awesome!

Interlude: No More Drama | Part 10 | White Night
Interlude: No More Drama Masterlist
Word count: 4,689
Warnings: Angst
Part 10 | White Night
âDream of you all night long.â
Prev ⢠Next
You say that I'm selfish,
Get it all off your chest
If we're being honest,
Without you I'm a mess, oh
Cause when I'm at my lowest, oh I run too
Don't matter the problem it's always you
Give me no reason to question you
Give me no reason to question you
âWhoâs that?â
He broke the song on the stereo, no longer able to contain his curiosity.Â
âSomeone, Yuta.â You brushed him off, not in the mood for feeding his interest.
âI bet heâs not just someone.â He said, sarcastically.
You rolled your eyes, âWhen is your birthday?â
âHm?â He only took a quick glance at you, since he was focusing on the steering wheel. âOctober 26th. What about it?â
âAh, a scorpio.â
âIs there anything wrong with me being a scorpio?â
âNo, but youâre fearlessly curious. Sounds very scorpio to me.â
Yuta lets out a chuckle, âOK, you seem to know a lot about scorpios. Your boyfriend is a scorpio?â
âAquarius.â
âSo he is your boyfriend?â
You couldnât believe how you just automatically answered him.
âHeâs not. I mean, he was, but not anymore.â
He reached the traffic light, finally looking at your direction, âIâm sorry. Didnât mean to touch the sensitive subject.â
âWell you keep asking about him, no wonder I let it slip, jerk.â
He laughs again, so free and pure. His smile is brilliant, completely washed away the cold demeanor that he has.Â
âYouâre funny, [Y/N].â
His compliment makes you scoffed dryly.
âWant to go out with me?â
Whether his words are true or not, it definitely succeeded in shocking you.
âExcuse me?â You asked him to repeat his question, making sure you didnât hear him wrongly.
âGo out with me, [Y/N].â He said as he changed the gear, being so casual about it.
âOther than the fact I know that youâre Doyoungâs partner ânot sure whether you guys are considered friends or not, and the fact that you are a Japanese, we literally only met once over a brunch and this is our first time going out together.â
âWe can find out about each other later. If you want me to re-introduce myself, hi, Iâm Nakamoto Yuta. You just found out that Iâm a scorpio and you better remember my birthday. Osakaâs pride. Takoyakiâs my favorite food, what elseâŚâ
You laugh at how absurd he lets the conversation flow, âYou donât need to shove that much information at once, you know.â
Yuta beaming at the sound of your laughter, âLaughing suits you better. So, can I take it as you agree on slowly knowing each other better?â
At the rebound of the topic, you entwined your fingers together, âWhy are you so eager about this? I bet you donât even like me.â
âSays who? Youâre pretty attractive to me.â
Your cheeks rose red at his directness. Fortunately Yutaâs eyes were fixed on the road, else he would tease you about it.
âYuta, Iâm flattered you think of me that highly, but I just broke up with him like a week ago. I donât think Iâm ready for another relationship.â
You were hoping you didnât make the atmosphere awkward. It didnât, as Yutaâs smile is still apparent on his face.
âWe donât have to officially date, you know? Iâd like to get to know you personally, you seem like a great girl. You have a charming personality.â
You stayed quiet. Itâs not like you donât like Yuta. As the reality of the matter, you share the same feelings towards him. His directness is like a fresh air, filling your lungs and clearing your mind. However itâs quick to judge whether youâre ready to jump to another relationship.
âJust be with me,â He continues, holding your hand now, and thankfully Doyoungâs car is a matic car, if not youâd be screaming at the way he recklessly drives, sort of. âWeâll figure out the details later.â
Before you know it, youâve reached Doyoungâs apartment parking lot. He parked the car, yet Yuta leaves the engine going because heâs still waiting for your answer.
âYuta, really, Iâm delighted that you see me⌠that way. But I donât think Iâm ready.â
The answer is already set way before Yuta gave you any time to think. In all honesty, after his sudden confession, all you can think about is the face of your previous lover. You could imagine Jaehyunâs face if he figured this out. How his heart would shatter when he knows you moved on so quickly from him. How awful it would be for him after he declared his profound love towards you.
Yuta sighs in disappointment, conscious of the catastrophe which you have brought upon him. He thought he would have a glimmer of chance. After all, he might not be Jeong Jaehyun, but Yuta is not losing in terms of look. His features are so easy on the eyes, more so when his radiant smile decorates his expressions.
âBut,â You resume, seeing him frowning. âLetâs be friends. I know this is me stereotyping you and please donât be offended, but I'm a fan of Ghibli and maybe we can start there?â
In a blink of an eye, you can hear the sound of his laughter, âNo offense taken.â
â
The cloudy sky greets you once you open your eyes.
Yesterday was probably the busiest you've ever been. After three months since the unfortunate event, your project with NCT Corp. almost comes to an end. All it has left is the launching event that will only happen on the following week. You returned home very late last night and only up when the clock almost hit noon.
Even though youâve been going back and forth to their office, you consistently avoiding Jaehyun with all your might. He sends you texts, only for you to leave them on read. His display picture would appear first whenever you upload something on your socials, and you tried your best not to do the same.
Youâve lost in touch with Jaehyun.
The situation is in contrast with Yuta. Youâve been talking to Yuta a lot, to discover that he does read manga, but wasnât a fan like you. He turned out to be as sweet as what you expected, because he would actually watch anime with you. What makes it even more charming of him is that he even bothers to tell you the Japanese trivias along the way.
Itâs funny. Yuta has been very gentle to you, yet you still need time to recover from your old flame.
Despite his strong appearance, you thought he would lose his patience but he doesnât. Yuta never forced you to like him back, or asked you the âhey-are-you-ready-to-dateâ question again. And youâre grateful for that.
Maybe time is all you need to heal. Maybe youâre like one of the arrow in a clock, and youâre slowly ticking your way to meet Yutaâs.
It was not your usual Saturday afternoon. By now, Yuta would relaxedly lounging at your couch, crossing his arm over your shoulder while you lean your head to his shoulder. He would probably browse any available movie to watch, before it bugs you and you would end up deciding the final verdict.
Other Saturdays Doyoung would come and pay his visit. He checks on you regularly after what happened. He may seem indifferent, but that is just Doyoungâs way to show his affection. After you moved back to your place, he would come to pick you up, just to make sure youâre in one piece.
On this irregular Saturday, both of them are in Osaka. They were a business partner before they became friends (partially because Yutaâs glued to you, inevitably making their interaction go beyond partnership). Today is the day where they have to make a business trip to Japan, leaving you all alone this weekend.
You stared blankly at the window, still nuzzling yourself to the cozy duvet. Itâs been awhile since youâre completely by yourself, and itâs probably the therapy you need.
It would probably be best if you donât waste anymore time, so you force your step to the bathroom for a quick shower. Prep yourself afterwards before marching outside.
As odd as it might seem, you actually savor the cloudy weather. You take it as a constant reminder that life is not all sunshine and everything nice. You love the trickling sound of the raindrops. And the best part is when the rain finally over, you get to see rays of sunshine peeks through, as if the weather tells you that even at the darkest hours, there would always be light. That there would always be hope.
Whenever it almost rains, you would often make your way to the small coffee shop near your place. You reach the front door, where the word Interlude is written on the storeâs sign. Though small, they feel like home. The store is unlike other popular cafes, in fact their customers are probably only the loyal ones. However it only means that you could spend your time looking at the window while admiring the rain passes without having people talking in the background.
Itâs been awhile since you last visited. You donât even share this place to your best friends. Itâs a silly rule you apply to yourself, keeping this place as your personal oasis. Itâs thrilling, and you feel secured to have a safe place where you can run to which nobody knows its whereabouts.Â
So itâs shocking to see Jaehyun sitting down at your usual spot, turning his head to your direction after hearing the bells at the door rang at your presence. Making eye contact with you.
â[Y/N]...â
Desperation filled his voice. His cheekbones look more apparent now, and youâre guessing due to him neglecting his diet. But youâre glad at least his eyes werenât as hollow as the last time youâve met him.
âJaehyun⌠What are you doing here?â
âIâve been coming here every week.â He said while scratching his head.
You furrow your brows, âEvery week?â
âI⌠remember when you said you have this one coffee shop that you always visit whenever it's about to rain.â
You tilted your head, thoughts wandering through your memory.
âIt was when I stayed over at your place. It was raining cats and dogs, so we cancelled our plan to try the new bubble tea place. We spent our days at your bed, with your laptop and you were playing The Notebook.â
And that was a long time ago.
âYou told me that the view from the furthest window at this place is the prettiest when it rains. You said the rain would gently hit the rocks, making the most soothing sound. I could remember your eyes were practically shining when you told me that it is very satisfying to see the shadows that the sun made, saying that it looks like a painting.â
How you wished your feelings are numb, because all you can feel right now is the heartache that creeps and consumes your heart whole.
âI asked you to bring me here, but you told me since it was already raining, I wouldnât get to enjoy the whole experience. You promised that you would bring me here next time.â
He grazed his gaze to you, âI guess⌠You kinda did now?â
You bit your lower lip, feeling extremely guilty, âSo youâre telling me... youâve been coming here every single week?â
He nods at your repeated question.
âBut⌠itâs been a while since I last visitedâŚâ
I know. This is my new Saturday ritual, I guess. Whether itâs sunny or rainy outside, I would still come, in hope that youâd appear from that door.â
He lets out a soft sigh, âTo be honest, Iâm not fond of this weather. It gets dark silently as it seems about to rain. Still, you like this deafening weather. After coming here for weeks, I encounter days where it actually rains. That is when I grew to like rainy days. It looks beautiful from here, like what you said.â
You could only taste the bitter sorrow at the tip of your tongue. The sadness travelled through the stifling air. Memories start to flood in your head. The days youâve spent with him. His gentle touch. His smile that is always followed by his pair of dimples. But it was probably his voice that you miss the most. The richness of his low rumble that always wraps you warmly. The gentle voice that feels like a melody to you.
The thoughts make you want to return to his arms. How you wish you could brush the disheveled bangs that covers his eyes, so you can have a clearer view of it. How you long to caress his face, intoxicated from his signature musky scent that is mixed with nicotine that is now that heâs only a few inches apart from you.
Yuta.
The thought of the Japanese man refrains you from doing so.
âHow are you?â He asks, breaking the silence.
âI-Iâ You stutter, donât know how to react, head hung low. âIâm doing fine, I guess.â
You return your gaze to him, âWhat about you, Jaehyun?â
He lets out a smile that is dyed with woe, âIâm coping, [Y/N].â
Jaehyun canât seem to divert his gaze other than to your eyes.
âGod, how I longed for you to call my name again,â He said, squeezing his own palm that he tugs inside his jacketâs pocket.
âSo,â He sidetracked, as if he didn't want to make the situation even more awkward than what it already was. âI heard you are almost done with the project. Johnny said we wouldnât be able to pull through if it wasnât for your directions.â
You beamed at the sudden praise, âHeâs just being polite, Jae. Johnny is more than capable of doing it himself, to be honest. Heâs a man with many talents.â
âI agree,â Jaehyun muffled, âStill, do give yourself credit. I know how you always work hard and how dedicated you are.â
The quietness speaks louder than both of you.
âCan I hug you?â
He spread his arms, not widely but enough for you to be in his embrace.
Of course, you were not expecting it.
If only I have the rights to permit you, Jaehyun.
âYou know we canât Jaehyun.â
âIs it that guy?â
You give him a look that asks him to further elaborate his statement.
âThe one that picks you up that day?â
âAre you talking about Yuta?â
He flinched at the mention of another manâs name. The gleam in his eyes starts to fade.
âThat was him?â
âYeah, if you could recall, he is Doyoungâs partner from Osaka.â
âYouâre seeing him now?â
Hurry can be heard from his tone, as he demands for an answer.
âWeâve been talking a lot.â
âHas he been treating you well?â Jaehyun felt your answer was ambiguous, not confirming anything.
You took a pause before you replied, mustering all of your strength to do so. Hoping that he could swallow your answer, âHeâs wonderful, Jaehyun.â
Jaehyun looks down, fussing on his shoes.
He never felt this dejected.
âStrange, isnât it?â Jaehyun looks at you, âTo wake up and your eyes just naturally search for someone thatâs not there.â
âJaehyunâŚâ You pleaded for him not to continue, as you have the hunch that his next sentences will tear you apart.
âI wake up, only to do the necessities for the sake of survival. Better eating, nice sleeping, donât know what it is.â He shrugs his shoulders, âInstead, I wish I could live on my dreams.â
âMy dream is still you. You left traces of you, entangled me. But all I want is to stay.â
A part of you wished you didnât reject his invitation to hug him. It destroys you when Jaehyun was being so vocal about his heartbreak, and all you did was to run away from him.
âForget it,â Knowing youâre struggling to get a word out, he did the call. âI guess Iâll go now.â
âYouâre leaving?â
âYeah, itâs about to rain and I finally get to meet you. I donât want to interrupt your quality time with the rain.â He peeks at the window, confirming that itâs about to drizzle anytime soon. âDonât look at me like that [Y/N]. It makes it even harder for me to leave.â
âJaehyun, I-â
âNo, I understand [Y/N].â He stopped you from continuing your sentence. âIâll leave now. Iâll see you at the launching event.â
You saw him disappear through the front door.
He left, yet he still lingers.
â
âYou sure itâs OK?â Yuta asked in the front corridor, fixing his suit in front of the mirror.
âWhat do you mean?â You shouted from your room, making final touches with your lipgloss.
âWell, this is a company event and not just some random party. And he would be there too, riâŚâ
Your sudden appearance hushed him. Your dress for the night was a maroon halter maxi dress. It was a simple silk dress, but the backless design and the fitted waist feature definitely add more flare to it.
âYou look beautiful.â Yuta fixed his gaze on you, not looking away even for a second. âThey say the dress made the woman. I say the woman makes the dress.â
His admiration flushed your cheeks, now noticeably pink. âAnd you look dashing, Yuta.â
He finally looks away, reacting awkwardly over your compliment.
âTo answer your question,â You tug the wild strand of hair that decided to rebel itself from the rest of Yutaâs hair. âYes, even I would love for your company. Johnny already confirmed to me that itâs OK for me to bring a plus one.â
He leans forward, kissing your lips softly, âWho wouldâve thought that I would eventually be your plus one.â
You smacked him playfully, âNow, I never know youâd like my lipgloss that much youâd steal it. Should I tell you which brand it is?âÂ
â
âMs. [Y/L/N]! Glad you made it in time!â Donghyuck greets you, joyful that he finally has a company.
âDonghyuck! Youâre here.â
You held Yutaâs hand while walking towards Donghyuck, whoâs busy talking to the waiter nearby. He noticed that your eyes travelled somewhere else, so he is guessing that you might be looking for another personâs stature.
âMr. Jeong has not arrived yet.â
Your eyes bulged from the false allegation, especially when youâre holding another manâs hand. âI was about to ask about Johnny, though.â
âAh, sorry!â Donghyuck immediately regrets his choice of words, late at realizing that your hands are firmly intertwined with Yutaâs.
âMr. Seo said heâs going to be a tad late. He mentioned he would probably come with Mr. Jeong, I guess that is why I mixed them up.â Donghyuck made a poor effort of an excuse, âThey got something else to take care of, it seems.â
Soon after, all heads turn towards the entryway. While everybody was mesmerized, youâre the only one who turned pale.
âWhatâs wrong?â Yuta lowered his face, meeting yours who is busy looking at the ground. He took a gracious glance at the center of the attention, quick to make his deduction. âThatâs him, right?â
You gave him a small nod, refusing to tilt up your head.
Fear consumes you.
âMr. Jeong! Sir!â Says the few people who crowded next to him. âI heard our young Jeong Jaehyun was involved in this project. As expected from your son!â
âAh yes, this is nothing. This should be the standard coming from my son.â He replies, uninterested to keep them entertained while Mark on his side tries not to show his sour emotion.
âIt would be an honor if I could speak a few words to him, sir. Is he not coming with you?â
Before Jeong senior could answer their pathetic efforts to gain his favor, two men entered the hall, almost too dramatic. It was easy to find the reason why peopleâs attention averted so quickly, they are practically a show stopper.
Todayâs event was free from any dress codes, nonetheless both of them are instantly stealing people favoritisms by wearing white suits. Johnny opted for a more toned-down version. Only when you carefully zoomed in the details, you will realize that the lapel was finely embroidered in tiny black sequins. Jaehyun, on the other hand, looks stunning in his choice of suit that is printed with big black and white floral patterns. Itâs nearly impossible not to look at them.
âFather,â Jaehyun greets out of courtesy. âIâd like you to stand by near the stage.â
His father gave him a confused look.
âAlso,â He continues, âPlease bring Ms. Hyun along. Iâd like to make a few announcements.â
Even the distance you can tell that whatever Jaehyun is telling his father brings so much delight to him. You never see that cold man look so happy before.
You were in daze before Yuta pulls back your attention, squeezing your hand tighter.
âItâs going to be fine.â
You nod and smile, feeling a bit more relaxed after his words of assurance.
Then you feel like someone is looking, so you look back.Â
You regret doing so.
If looking back means you have to see Jaehyunâs broken-hearted face, you would keep your eyes fixed on Yuta's instead. As if his soul was crushed, he never knew seeing you in another manâs arm would hurt so much.
He thought that it should be him, holding your delicate hand. He should be the one who makes you laugh.
Yet heâs only able to stand from afar.Â
Yet the only touch that he could give you is the same air that you breathe.Â
His tears are dry, but heâs drowning in remorse.
Unable to bear the pain any longer, he walks away. Your eyes are still motioned at his direction, saw how he whispers to Johnny before separating their way. You pretend you didnât anticipate Johnnyâs arrival, when in fact you saw heâs coming to where the three of you are.
â[Y/N]! Youâre here.â Johnny warmly hugs you, followed by a friendly peck on your cheek.
âJohnny, look at you, how marvelous!â
âDitto, [Y/N]. You shouldâve checked the mirror!â He returned the compliment, before looking at the man who stands right beside you. âAnd this isâŚâ
âOh, how rude of me.â You let go of Yutaâs hand. âJohnny, Donghyuck, this is Yuta.â
âAh! Nakamoto Yuta, right? [Y/N] briefly told me about you.â Johnny reconfirms, and Yuta replies with a polite smile. âHi, Iâm Johnny Seo.â
âNice to meet you, Seo. Nakamoto Yuta.â Yuta firmly shakes Johnnyâs arm. â[Y/N] on the other hand told me plenty of you. She told me youâre a powerhouse, so Iâve been wanting to meet you.â
Johnny shifts his gaze to you, âPowerhouse? [Y/N], what have you been telling your boyfriend?â
âNothing, Johnny.â You chuckled.Â
Suddenly Yutaâs phone rang, regretfully breaking the friendly atmosphere. He quickly excused himself before ruining the mood further.
âAnd,â You quickly continue, making Johnny tilt his head closer to yours. âHeâs not my boyfriend, Johnny.â
His eyes grow bigger, showing that your statement took him by a surprise, âIâm not Jaehyun, you know? You donât have to be polite, I saw how you guys cross your fingers together.â
âFrom the beginning, in fact.â Donghyuck adds.
âHyuck!â You protested. âI mean, weâve been seeing each other. But technically weâre not dating yet.â
âShould I emphasize the word yet?â Johnny said, receiving your slap in return. âI mean, if you never clarify, I wouldnât be able to tell. You are gleaming next to him. Jaehyun saw it too, andâŚâ
âAttention, ladies and gentleman.â
The MC of the night cuts Johnny abruptly, marking that the event is about to start. All of you quickly find your seat, including Yuta who just returned following her cue. After she gathered everyoneâs attention, she proceeds on her MC-ing.Â
âMy name is Mina and I will be your host for the night. First of all, weâd like to thank all of you for coming to our launching event. Itâs a great honor to be able to stand in front of our esteemed guests.â
Claps followed her after she reached the full stop. âOf course, tonightâs celebration canât begin without a grand start. Without further ado, Iâd like to welcome our very own COO, Mr. Jeong Jaehyun.â
She left the mic stand, and was quickly replaced by Jaehyunâs figure. Your table is located on the left side of the stage, securing the prime view of the stage. Enabling you to see Jaehyun oh so very clearly, with all of his glory.
âGood evening, everyone.â His low voice echoes, âIâd like to welcome each and every one of you tonight, and thank you for sparing your time to join us.â
He backs off, clearing his throat, âTonight is the night where we celebrate the launch of our latest and our proudest project yet, Neo Zone. After months of R&Ds, working in between departments, countless sleepless nights from the staff, including myself,â The audience gave him soft giggles in response, âIâm very proud to say that tonight is the origin of a new era for NCT Corporation.â
âBefore we take a deeper dive, Iâd like to invite important people to the stage because I have an important announcement to make.â
Itâs almost peculiar how you saw the MCâs reaction. She wasn't aware of Jaehyunâs sudden declaration judging by the way she looked. As if she didnât receive the brief beforehand.
âFather, Ms. Hyun Kyungmi, would you take the honor to come to the stage?â
Your heart sank. The addition of Kyungmi, grinning as she couldnât contain her happiness, makes things worse for you. The sight of his father, escorting her while she canât stop being so giddy causes you to feel like your stomach to turn inside out.
Theyâre going to announce their engagement.
Yuta, who even supposedly clueless about the situation, even grasps the whole meaning of Jaehyunâs action. He saw the tense your facial muscles are. He was about to hold your hand so you can relieve the stress, but Johnny outdid him.
âItâs gonna be OK, [Y/N].â
You looked at his rich hickory eyes. While you, and even Yuta are baffled at the sudden detour of the eventâs agenda, Johnny shows an opposite reaction. He is very calm and collected despite all the fuss. Confident, even.
Kyungmi didnât show any signs of hesitation once she reached the stage, trying to act like a smitten fiance and rushed to hug Jaehyun. Jaehyun managed to dodge the worthless affection as he quickly reached out for the mic again.
âAs most of you should know, the man standing beside me is the founder of NCT Corporation. Today he is not standing alone as he is accompanied by Ms. Hyun Kyungmi, the daughter of the founder of Hyun Ventures.â Jaehyun quickly introduced them. While his father is keeping his stance, standing tall and pride, Kyungmi is already acting like sheâs on a pageant, showing her overly white veneers.
âWithout a doubt, I wouldnât be standing here confidently if it wasnât for their attendance at tonight's event.â
Jaehyun's speech gains two different reactions. One, Kyungmi that is all over the moon and his father is now busting his chest out, ready to share the happy news. You, on the contrary, wished you were not a VIP for this event, ready to flee. What are they doing, celebrating your sorrow?
Jaehyun cleared his throat, ready to continue his speech in a single breath. Smirk appears on his face, almost too smugly.
âHereby Iâd like to use this opportunity to declare my father denouncement, as he is proven to be guilty in the act of illegal transactions; including drugs, gamblings, prostitutions, and sexual assault. Officers, please guard both Mr. Jeong Sr. and Ms. Hyun.â
The roomâs atmosphere took a grand fall. You move your palm against your mouth, at a loss for words as suddenly four people in uniforms enter the stage, married with the audible gasps that echoes in the hall.

A/N: Iâm not sure about you guys, but I felt so many emotions writing this chapter. I wish I could have this version of Jaehyun in my life minus the mafia background please. Also! Grab your popcorn people, I think the next chapter should be quite exciting to read :)Â
Fun fact: White Night is probably my favorite track on this album, so that is why I was so attached to this chapter?
