knuckles is so extremely careful around tails. he knows his strength and this little thing is so small what if he accidentally hurts him? i think knuckles would be a mother hen when it comes to the baby and constantly keeps an eye on him, even if he’s just napping. he is a guardian after all

on the other hand, amy will let her cuteness aggression possess her. she just needs to give tails a little squeeze sometimes and coo over him. she has been brought to tears by this little guy multiple times. amy will take every opportunity to play with or hold him. she brings him little goodies and completely spoils him

i feel like the general consensus between team dark and the chaotix would be “sonic the hedgehog is raising a baby??? and is doing a decent job at it??” this isn’t much but i really don’t know what else to say 😭

vanilla is an complicated one. sonic is open to any advice she may give him, but the second she tries to “parent” tails, he gets very defensive. this is also just a headcannon i have for sonic’s interactions with vanilla in general. she gives good advice but at the end of the day, sonic is the expert when it comes to his kid and he will fight people who disagree

“Whatever you want. Get ahead on a few bills, buy some of that stuff that’s been sittin’ in your cart for weeks, save it, I don’t know. Your call.”

His casual behavior about the situation left you spiraling. You didn’t wanna know where this money had come from. You had an idea, but you didn’t need confirmation. 

“Frank…I can’t…shouldn’t we give this to the police?”

If he was perplexed before, he was full on confused now. He turned to face you fully, his expression twisted up like you’d just asked him the most ridiculous question.

“The hell would we do that for?”

“Well…because. It’s…I mean…isn’t it…like…”

“Sweetheart, it’s money. Money is money. Don’t matter where it came from or who had it. They ain’t got a use for it no more. Besides, better you have it and put it to good use than some crooked cop pocketin’ it, or it collectin’ dust in an evidence locker.”

Frank made a valid point. The logical part of your brain understood what he was saying. And it would definitely give you some breathing room, taking care of more than a few bills so that you could cut back a bit on how much you were working.

Sensing your confliction, Frank set the mug down on the counter and walked over towards you, lightly grasping your chin to get you to look at him.

“Look, only place that money is goin’ is in your bank account. Now either you can deposit it, or I’ll swipe your wallet and do it myself. But it ain’t goin’ nowhere else.”

You knew Frank wasn’t joking. And you knew you weren’t winning this argument. Letting out a quiet huff, you have him a pointed look.

ok so there's a lot of words and thoughts so it's under the spoiler

so i imagine the movie like this

the start: stone is very sad and depressed we see mourning and grief and somewhere along the way he thinks abt what he could have done to prevent it, the main thing that he remembers is sonic and his friends and thinks if he never let them into the crab this would have never happened and so plots revenge against them bc Gerlad is already dead and cut to stone building metal sonic.

cut to sonic at the end of the movie, we get to re-see sonic getting ambushed by the metal sonics and amy saving him, they talk obviously and tbh i didn't think abt anything right here so lets skip a bit

the middle: stone's causing chaos cus at this point they figured out it was stone (i was thinking something along the lines of tails going to check up on stone and inadvertently figures out stone's the villain and sneaks out of the newly repaired crab in horror but um spoiler alert stone saw tails figuring out he's the villain but idk). They have a mini battle that leaves stone retreating, after that but not right after shadow comes back with news that robotnik is alive and that we have to save him and they do, at the same time maddie decides to take matters into her own hands to figure out why he's doing this and also goes over to check on agent stone and tldr stone wants revenge bc sonic and his friends got the love of his life killed and he knows the doctor sacrificed himself but he still wants revenge and maddie is able to go home safe and sound bc she's good at acting normal

before the end: after making sure robotnik is ok they tell him stone is going crazy and robotnik doesn't believe them at first until they share stories and proof and then robotnik is like "oh shit! we gotta stop this!" (no one has brought up that he's in love with robotnik and the doctor thinks stone wants revenge bc he's his boss not bc he loves him) and there's a cool getting ready and prepared montage with tom, maddie, sonic, shadow, amy, tails, knuckles and robotnik

the end: there's not really much to it just as they see each other when getting ready to fight (i haven't thought much abt the 'how is stone gonna get revenge' aspect) stone sees robotnik and gets more angry bc he thinks they somehow cloned robotnik to get him to calm down but he sees right through it (even tho stone's completely wrong). They fight and he FINALLY lets slip (in front of the real robotnik mind you) that he's doing this bc they killed his doctor the love of his life AND HOW DARE THEY MAKE A CHEAP IMATATION, robotnik doesn't have time to process that stone loves him bc they keep fighting, eventually it looks like sonic and the gang won't win until robotnik makes it very clear that it's him the REAL him and that he's ALIVE (i was thinking something only the real robotnik and stone would know) and everything stops and a tearful but happy reunion ensues and the badniks make the heart eyes at them, stone says sorry to everyone and robotnik, robotnik says sorry and he loves stone too. Everything returns to normal with shadow beginning to live with stone and the doctor and at this point the doctor and stone are tired, and they want to stop going after sonic and his friends and they do and get to be slightly friends with them and tom and maddie and yayyyyy happy ending

the post credit scene: if there's other sonic villains besides robotnik one of them appear with sinister music in tow

i believe this would be the best course of action for sonic 4 it just feels like it goes full circle and snice apparently, they're willing to go full mcu for the sonic movie franchise i've heard this'll be great to do

Amy walked through the double doors leading to the balcony groaning lightly to herself. She walked towards Sonic with her head hung low in defeat as she leaned onto the railing next to him. 

Sonic turned to look at her with a bored, knowing expression, “So. It's not all it's cracked up to be huh?” 

Amy let out an exasperated sigh and looked out over to the view ahead of her. The hilltop residence of the mansion gave them a wide and colorful view of the city below. 

“It's not that exactly… Everyone is having such a great time…and I love hanging out with all my friends its just all…” 

“Too much?” 

Amy looked over at him, surprised he was able to finish her thought. 

Sonic gave her a sympathetic smile and placed his hand on her arm, “Hey, it's alright. You’ve been working real hard to set this up for everyone, it only makes sense you’d be kinda over it by now.”

Amy looked down at his arm on hers before turning to look past the railing again, “I know it's just, I was really looking forward to this. I just--I want them to have one of the best evenings ever. Tangle and Whisper deserve this after all they’ve been through together.” 

Amy held her hands together, “ An engagement is such a beautiful and romantic thing I just wanted it to be perfect for them...”

Sonic gestured inside with his thumb, “Well, last I saw those two, they were over the moon with joy. I’m a hundred percent sure they’re having an amazing time, Amy.” 

Instead of being comforted by this like she shouldv’e been, She felt a twinge of envy rip though her before it quickly bubbled down into guilt and shame. Leaving her feeling ugly and selfish. This whole night she’d been hit with these unwanted feelings and they only made her feel gross and insincere.

She cares about her friends. Dearly. When they had asked for help to set up the engagement party, she had -literally- jumped at the chance to do all the major party prep. 

But as the planning went on she realized her motivations hadn’t been entirely pure. She was using this as an opportunity to live vicariously through them- as if she were almost planning her own engagement party. As much as she didn’t want to believe she could stoop this low emotionally, she couldn’t avoid the truth of her heart. She never could. And seeing those two share in loving embrace after embrace grew too much for her to bear. 

She wanted that. She wanted to be happy like that, she wanted to be with the one she loved like that. And when the guilt of all these selfish thoughts piled up in her heart, she decided it was best to step back and get some fresh air. 

Sonic rubbed small circles on her hand and it brought her back to her senses… and back to the object of-practically-all her desires.

It was his sophomore year of college when Marble Hornets had debuted, it was a rookie student film, but one that got him a good grade and into his advanced classes. His junior year rolled to a close and he was given a summer project, his student thesis project, due by the end of his senior year. Ultimately he decided to make a film in universe with Marble Hornets, something better, something using the skills he learned. It’d be great. It was supposed to be for fun. It was supposed to be dipping a toe into the world of film, a summer project he would finish up when school rolled around.

Something happened to Tim that summer, something no one had answers to. He stated to recluse, and he stepped away from the project.

Alex ran into a lot issues, corrupted footage and broken cameras. There were other issues of missing tapes, but he powered through and released the film just in time for graduation.

They celebrated, inviting Tim but with no answer.

It was a week before graduation that things went downhill.

First it was Jessica, who’d suddenly stopped answering calls, missing. Amy had gone looking for her friend naturally. Amy never came home. Alex followed her location on his phone, only to have a run in with none other than Tim.

Then, like a chain reaction, Jay had went in search of Alex, also having a very unfortunate run in with Tim.

Over the summer, Tim had a very personal encounter with the Operator, one which left “Masky”, a protective alter, rendered dormant. Masky is known to hold onto injury and pain much longer than Tim, and ever since this incident he is nowhere to be found, leaving Tim effectively without his shield. For the next several months he’s visited by the Operator, over and over again like he had been in the institution, except no one was here to save him. It was his fault, this thing. That’s what he’d told himself. When he’d seen the corruption of Alex’s film, he knew he’d done something awful, and he had to stop it, stop it from spreading, stop it from infecting others. He’d starve the fever, then stop the source.

Alex had woken up in the hospital the morning of his graduation, with no recollection of the previous night. Jay was gone, Amy was gone, Jessica was gone. Jessica and Amy were missing, no evidence of where they may have gone. Supposedly, in a woods not far from a local school there had been a spent bullet casing and blood tracing back to Jay Merrick. With no sign of a body, he was deemed missing but deceased.

After his funeral, Alex moved out of town, with little word to his remaining friend, Brian. He had to get away from everything he’d lost.

It was Brian, years later, who decided to look further into his friend’s disappearances, into how odd Tim had been. He played detective, documenting his findings with video and photo so he could try to find answers.

At first, Tim was cooperative, but his stories didn’t always add up. Brian still followed, taking note of weirder things going on. Corrupted footage, burned photos, something deeper was at play. The Operator, two strange masked men, and still no answers about Jessica or Amy or even Jay.

OKAY LET ME EXPLAIN. In her opening cutscene in SA1, Amy laments how every day is the same, before talking about how things were way better when Sonic was around, and they were adventuring. How there was always something to do when Sonic was around. And my vision is 100% tinted by confirmation bias, but. GIRL. GIRL WANTING TO BE AROUND SOMEONE BECAUSE HE'S FUN AND HE ADVENTURES IS NOT THE SAME AS A CRUSH.

What Amy WANTS is to go on adventures, and Sonic is where adventures happen. Combined with everything I laid out in the above screenshots, and combined with her just plain missing him- To borrow phrasing from my bestie, Amy's mindset is, subconsciously, "Me + Sonic = adventure. So if I want adventure, I need Sonic. And if I need Sonic, that must mean I'm in love with him."

The exchange she has with Gamma also becomes FASCINATING through the lens of Amy being aro.

GAMMA: "Insufficient data. You have feelings for something you know nothing about. Illogical!" AMY: "I pity you. Love is not part of your programming, you are missing something good."

THIS FASCINATES ME. In this reading, (romantic) love isn't part of Amy's programming either. And what this tells me is "Amy is someone defined by love, yes, but not necessarily romantic love." She loves everything so, so, so much! That's undeniable! But it doesn't mean she's IN love.

And it's so interesting to me because like-Not to mention, robots and aromanticism, there's a lot of history with aromantic people being compared to robots. So like- this whole thing is SO INTERESTING.

Plus when she sees Sonic for the first time she stares DIRECTLY into the camera and says "My hero!!" and BITCH THAT WAS MEEEEEE THAT WAS ME WHEN I WAS A KID I WAS CONVINCED I WAS IN LOVE WITH THIS GUY BECAUSE I WANTED TO LIVE OUT A ROMANCE MOVIE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO LOVERS THAT WAS MEEEEEEEEEEEEE AMYYYYYYYY I CAN SHOW YOU THE WAY OF AROMANTICISMMMMMMM

They wore a long greenish skirt, with a tight-fitting black long-sleeve shirt. Their hair was getting longer, curling over their shoulders and with their new (self-cut) bangs. “Thanks, you’re looking very pretty yourself.”

Even though Amy was in her sixties, she got on with Sirius like they’re the same age. Remus adored that about his partner, that Sirius could just charm everyone and their mothers off their feet.

“And your handsome Lover, my favourite nephew!” She hugged Remus even though she was even smaller than Hope and only got to his torso (with her huge hairstyle). Sirius chuckled beside him and their smile shined so bright Remus almost forgot to hug his aunt back.

Yet another updated take on Blaze for my AU, Metal Breakers. I'm way more satisfied with this one. I'm comfortable saying this is the final design I'm going with. I decided to lean further into her arms and hands being burnt and gave her different shoes finally. I was going to save this for when I finished it up and gave it color, but I'm kind of stuck because I don't know what I want to do with Silver. which is weird because he's like the most important member of Team Ruin because the idea I had is that he would feel the most upset over Null destroying their universe, feeling like he failed because he traveled back in time to prevent destruction, but it ended up happening anyways. An idea I had was him maybe having pieces of other characters on him as like a way to remember them, something like one of Shadow's inhibitor rings, maybe a piece of Amy's dress, or something from Espio. I feel like he has more of an established relationship with those three compared to everyone else. But something that kinda ruins that idea is the fact the Metal Virus from what I can tell seemingly effects clothing as well so how would he even do that?

Because the Sonic of games already accepts Amy hugs without him being fully uncomfortable. (And IDW follows the Game canon). Frontiers shows a growth of Sonic and Amy respectively. Specially with the dialogues Sonic says to himself alone when no one can hear him

Frontiers is the Game we're Sonic realizes the situation is criticam and how his friends are in danger and possibly die. He feels vulnerable in many ways and tries his best to help them and while he's on his own in the adventure he feels lonely and he has his time to give thoughts.

Those moments were needed so he can realize how he took the past moments not so serious and he's afraid they won't get out of danger this time.

That's why frontiers was so important for the mainline, it's a new beggining for Sonic and cast

Sonic accepting Amy's hugs without putting his hand on her face like generations did Or Even being a total asshole with her (which seems many fans want that back for some reason :/) (Even if sxs generations changed it but the damage is already done) is showing a growth with how Sega and Sonic team want the dynamic between Sonic and Amy to be in the next years were fans don't see in a superficial way that Sonic "doesn't care" for Amy for doing this antics.

This image didn't help in anything for the series. Fandom still uses it as evidence for why Amy is not a good character or for anti shipping reasons but almost no one calls out Sonic for being an asshole with his friend, shouldn't that be a mischaracterization for sonic? Yes.

Sonic accepting Amy's hugs is not mischaracterization.

What it goes against Sonic characterization is him being fully expressive of his feelings or acting obliviously in love or being kissy with his partner (like Archie did) Or him being the one to start hugs like prime Sonic did but I don't see anyone complaining about that, specially on the shipping side.

this is mischaracterization of Sonic's original character. He isn't the one to start hugs, he's uncomfortable reciving them

He still feels overwhelmed and uncomfortable when Amy is being lovy dovy with him. The difference is that the artists don't put a disgusted expression in his face so fans don't get the wrong ideas like decades ago were even in 2025 fans still believe these two are not even friends or that he's disgusted by her.

So IDW is aware that certain characters aren't huge huggers, especially from Amy who is overly affectionate. Got it.

So... why is idw still portaying Sonic gladly accepting hugs from Amy with no discomfort?

Sonic isn't a big hugger, either. It's been established both in the games and in Sonic X that Sonic isn't a big hugger and isn't usually one who's touchy feely with affection, especially if he isn't the one to initiate it. He's shown to be uncomfortable and nervous by Amy glomping him, she overwhelms him.

And before you say "but their relationship developed!" No. It never did. It's just a change in their dynamic out of nowhere and it goes against Sonic's established characterization.

I can see him possibly allowing Amy to hug him while not reciprocating the hug, or reciprocating it while looking uncomfortable or holding her at a distance. This panel is fine.

But alot of IDW panels with Sonic just straight up accepting hugs no problem, no signs of being uncomfortable, surprised, or nervous just seems really out of character for him and just seems to be put in there for ship bait.
