jesus fucking christ this fandom. one more time: Piers did not put Chris back in the field in RE6. Piers does not have that sort of an authority. who the hell assumes that he has the actual power to put his own commanding officer back on active duty??? anyone with half a fucking braincell should realize that is not how shit works. yet the amount of "uwu omg i hate piers he did chris so dirty!!1!1" posts I've seen here is STAGGERING. blaming Piers for clearing Chris back to work, blaming Piers for the lives Chris lost with his recklessness? nope. get out of here. get out of my sight.

fate swap AU i came up with and is making me sob A LOT

a few weeks before the incident with stan and ford in actual canon (while fiddleford was still there) stanley was invited by ford to be another test subject for the portal test. he was at first reluctant because he had to be part of something he didn't understand whatsoever, but ended up driving to ford's lab anyhow so he could just see ford again. dummy was still wrapped to his wrist, and like fiddleford in gf canon, he was pulled in for a short moment, with ford yanking him out and fiddleford watching. after being told what he already knows (that he doesn't understand, he's not smart, etc.) by a manipulated twin brother he was yelled at to leave, but came across the memory gun and the blueprints in the process of exiting the lab. maybe a little peace of mind wouldn't be so bad. just a little peace of mind

stan would steal the memory gun, run away from the lab, and disappear. until he's found as an old, tired, unrecognizable amnesiac many years later

by this time, and though he never saw what stan saw in there, fiddleford knew the portal was dangerous. he travelled to hide ford's journals away from him when he wasn't watching until he was caught in the portal room taking the first journal to hide it. lots of shoving, arguing, lever flicking and yelling about ford's twin brother later, fiddleford broke and told ford "he was the one with a sickness". one last hefty push from ford had fidds slowly lift into the air and get sucked into the portal before ford's eyes. fidds would brew over his concern and anger towards ford in the 30 years it took to get back

ford has no friends no brother and no money. he had to succumb to turning his now cold empty lab into a tourist trap full of fake science to keep a roof over his head and the portal, still worried fidds was out there. bill grew tired, bored, mad over the years as it looked like to him ford was "throwing away" his life for a quick buck. there wasn't even fun in possessing him anymore, there was nothing in it for him. so bill would leave, settle with more deals, but let ford live to know that he had no worth to him or anyone anymore. ford can still see that demon in his nightmares, and visions of stan and fidds suffering manifested by him

Ficlet- Stan Loses his Memory (Shapes and Pines AU)

“Oh my gosh, Grunkle Stan you did it!” Mabel excitedly exclaimed as she placed the fez upon the kneeling man’s head.

Ford, Dipper, and Tad lingered behind, sober looks on their faces. Ford rubs his arm as a tear wells up in Tad’s eye.

“Oh uh... Hey there… Kiddo,” Stan hesitantly greets, gently removing Mabel’s arms from his shoulders. “What’s your name?”

Mabel laughs nervously. “Uh, Grunkle Stan?”

Dipper covers his mouth silently, joining next to his sister.

The man in the trench coat touched the back of his neck with an awkward chuckle and looked around. “Heh… who ya talkin’ to?” 

Tad floats up to Stan’s face, reaching for his chin. “C’mon, Mack! You know us! Don’t ya remember me? Your husband-for-tax-purposes?”

The blue being’s supposed husband just stares blankly. Tad grabs him by the collar. “You can’t just forget our anniversary that easily! C’mon, does twenty years of commitment mean nothing to you?!”

Stan backs away from the two, who now have tears flowing over their faces, and Dipper grabs each by the shoulders to pull them away.

Ford leans over to comfort Mabel. “We had to erase his mind to defeat Bill. It’s all gone.”

The older man glances up at his brother. “Stan has no idea, but he did it. He saved the world.”

Ford moves closer to Stan, placing his arms on either shoulder. “He saved me.”

The amnesiac blinked unrecognizingly as Ford teared up. “You’re our hero, Stanley.” His voice cracks. He embraces his brother for the first time in forty years.

Tad reaches for Mabel’s hand, who takes it and pulls him close like a teddy bear. The square cries into her sweater sleeve and she cries into his bowler hat, Dipper putting a hand on her shoulder and lowering his cap.

The family took a solemn moment to mourn.

Hey, Hey- What if- What if all this time it was an amnesiac Bill who had been piloting Stan's Body and Fully believe he is Stanley Pines while Stanley's soul just stayed in limbo? Wouldn't that be F up, right?

Ford and Stan keeping each other grounded. Like of Ford's having a flashback from his years of dimension hopping or thinking about Bill and having nightmares, Stanley's there holding his hand or gripping his shoulders or hugging him and telling him he's alright and that nothing can hurt him anymore. Not while Stan's there. Or Stan having an amnesiac episode and he forgets who he is or where he is, Ford's there already grabbing his arm or pulling him into a hug and rubbing his back, gently telling him facts about who he is. Telling him about Dipper and Mabel and Soos and Wendy, and how he's safe. How Ford is there for him and telling him that he loves him and that he'll always be there him. That Ford is sticking with him.

They keep each other in the present time and place, reminding each other that there's someone out there who loves them. Who'll always protect them and look for them to the ends of the earth. Who will fight and die and live for them. Just two brothers who help the other heal and grow.

the aisles of the grocery store are unfamiliar to him, but he knows which candy to buy, what cartoony band-aids are preferred. he has no recollection of the children that live with him, yet it's only natural to make pancakes for breakfast each morning. he holds no attachment to this old shack, but he finds himself compelled to fix it up in the wake of the apocalypse. he wanders down to the basement at night because he's certain he's missing someone important, he just doesn't know who.

Crystal is such a fantastic character bc shes missing her memories and one of the first things she does is try to be mean to Charles, who is just so delighted by her anyway, and when she realizes that she might have been disliked before, she kinda of just starts over.

and she starts off being by being so kind by demanding they help a girl half way around the world, and they oblige. and then! she wipes the girl's memory of the house so she'll never have to suffer the nightmares the way Crystal does.

she's working through some shit, but every time she comes out the other side having tried to be a better person and trying to help her friends and correct mistakes.

and when she finds out who she is? she is horrified by what she sees and wants nothing more than to get away from that. and she still thinks she's a horrible person bc of what she's done and how her parents react to her calling them. she doesn't realize that you're not your past actions, and just bc she was awful then does not mean she has to continue to be that way.

she wants away from charles and edwin and niko bc she doesn't want them to know her like that. even tho they've never known her like that, and they never will, bc Crystal has changed so much as her time as an amnesiac and she is constantly trying to be a better person.

anyway stan Crystal, she wants to be kind, and her journey from being a bitch to being That Bitch is so fantastic, I can't wait to see what she does next

Huh, if I had a nickel for everytime I've witnessed MCU stans fall head over heels for a dark-haired, over-hundred-year-old, occasionally amnesiac, brooding guy with metal appendage named James, I'd have two nickels, which, I know isn't a lot, but it's still weird that it happened twice.
