The Descent
(Yes) I deleted my other Magda and Pernille fic, for no other reason than it was crap and this could replace it. I hope you like this fic, I did try to make it as accurate as possible in terms of the medical side of things however it may not be completely accurate. I am open to doing a part 2. 2k words Warnings: severe sickness, ambulances, hospitals/icu
You felt sick, your stomach churned and your whole body ached. Normally you would be fine sleeping in your own bed when you felt sick, but this felt different, you didn’t want to be alone, however as you stood in front of Leah’s door you hesitated, the game against chelsea was tomorrow and you didn’t want to ruin her sleep or make her sick, but the way your vision blurred quickly wiped away all of the hesitation and you gently knocked on her door.
“You’re all good to come in,” Leah called out.
“Um, c-can I sleep with you tonight?” you asked, barely audible as you avoid eye contact with her.
“Of course,” Leah replied, “do you feel sick?” she asked as she noticed your clammy skin and pale face.
“A bit,” you mumbled as you sat down on the bed.
“Okay, you get yourself comfy and I’m just going to grab some things, just in case,” you slightly nodded at her as you slipped under the covers, curling up into a ball. Leah would be lying if she said she wasn’t slightly concerned, you’d been living with her for 5 years now and you weren’t often affected by illnesses.
Whilst Leah was gone you’d subconsciously reached out for her hoodie that laid on the middle of her bed, so you could hug it, trying to find some comfort. She quickly returned with a bucket, several drinks, an ice pack, some medicine and a thermometer.
“I’m just taking you temp quickly,” she whispered to you as she brushed some of your hair out of the way before placing the thermometer in your ear, frowning moments later, “38, you’ve got a temp, can you take these for me?” she said as she handed you your water bottle and two tablets, you did as she asked before rolling over.
“Try to sleep okay, but wake me if you need anything at all, even if just for a hug,” you nodded as your eyes slipped shut.
Leah turned off the lamp before grabbing her phone, quickly composing a message to your aunt.
To Magda: Hey, just a heads up Mini has a fever and she doesn’t look too good. I've given her some meds and she is sleeping in my bed (she asked) so I can keep an eye on her easily at least, but I doubt she’ll play tomorrow. I’ll still bring her to the game though and make sure she gets checked out by the medics. From Magda: Thank you Leah, let us know if you need any help.
Your parents died when you were a baby, and Magda became your guardian, it was only two years after she’d signed for Chelsea that you got offered a contract at Arsenal, which you took. An arrangement was made with the club that you’d live with Leah and some of the team 2 nights of the week and the rest with Magda. However as you got older and training got more intense you moved in with Leah permanently, but you still did see Magda and Pernille quite often.
It was only two hours later that you awoke to a wave of nausea washing over you, feeling worse than you ever had before, you tried to swallow the nausea however your attempts only made it worse and you knew you needed to sit up. Sitting up felt too hard, it shouldn’t have been that hard. You wanted to cry, pain had settled itself deep into every inch of your body.
“You okay?” Leah asked, as she noticed you had sat up.
You shook your head as you covered your mouth, Leah quickly placed the bucket in front of you before you started to heave violently into the bucket, your body swayed slightly and Leah quickly but carefully moved so she was sitting behind you, you inbetween her legs which your helping to keep your body steady as she rubbed her back. When you finally finished your body practically went limp as you collapsed back into her, your head lolling against her shoulder.
“Le, I don’t feel well,” you weakly breathed out, your heart racing as your whole body shivered, despite the heat radiating off you.
“I know, I’m sorry, I’m just going to check your temp again,” you hummed in reply, as she mumbled a daint ‘fuck’, the thermometer displaying 41.
“Think ’m gonna pass out,” you slurred as your body became even more heavy.
“No, you’re okay, just close your eyes and take some breaths,” Leah tried to reassure you, whilst remaining composed as she dialled 999.
-
“Can you tell me what's happened?” One of the paramedics asked as they started working on you.
“About 2 hours ago she said she was feeling sick and then just 15 minutes ago she woke up and threw up, and she was suddenly lethargic and her temp was 41 and so I called and since I called she’s thrown up twice more,” The paramedic nodded as she took over, checking your pulse and eyes.
“Okay, we’re just going to get you onto this stretcher and into our ambulance, so we can start some fluids and try cooling you down,” she said, but you could barely process what was happening, your head was spinning and you felt like you might die.
Leah sat at your head, watching as the paramedic and special care paramedic worked on you, she’d messaged Magda and Pernille after hanging up with 999 and told them what was happening. You drifted in and out of consciousness the whole way to the hospital, still however finding the conversation Leah was having with the paramedic about football calming.
Magda held Pernille’s hand tightly, as Pernille drove the both of them to the hospital. The swede could hear her heart beating in her chest as her worry for you increased with every minute. Her throat tightened as she felt the feeling of dread rise inside of her. What if this was something serious, what if she lost you too.
“What if she’s not okay, what if we’re too late,”
“She’s strong, you know that, she will be okay,” Pernille replies as she squeezes Magda’s hand reassuringly.
Magda nodded, but she couldn’t deal with all the thoughts going through her brain. “What if this affects her career? She’s been working so hard, the world cup…” her words trailed off, the weight sitting on her chest only growing.
“Let’s not think about that right now, we just need to focus on getting her the help she needs,” Pernille replies and Magda nods and she swallows thickly.
The fluorescent lights in the ICU were harsh, illuminating the entire ward. The beeping of machines, the hushed voices and the tears from others only heightened Magda’s anxiety, they could see you slightly, through the glass doors of the ICU waiting room, the doors to your room were open and many nurses and doctors were working on your small and fragile body, the sight making Magda’s stomach churn.
“We’re here for her, and I’m here for you, you don’t have to be strong this time,” Pernille whispered as she squeezed Magda’s hand, knowing how hard it must be for her.
“Are they going to tell us anything? It’s been an hour,” Magda asked, trying to keep her tears from spilling over, she felt like she was teetering on the edge of a cliff, on the edge of just completely breaking down.
15 minutes later a doctor walked into the room, and sat down in front of them, his expression was serious but kind, “Magda, Pernille, so your daughter-” Magda didn’t hear anything else, the word ‘daughter’ hitting her like a wave, reminding her of exactly how she ended up with you as her daughter.
“Magsy,” Pernille said softly, the doctor having stopped, noticing Magda had zoned out, clearly very used to distressed families, “you’re okay,” Pernille continued, wrapping her arms around her nodding at the doctor to continue.
“She’s experiencing severe sepsis. We’ve started aggressive treatment but she will need to monitor her closely, we’re almost certain the cause is infection, we just can’t seem to pinpoint its location,”
“Can we see her? Sit with her?” Pernille asked as tears rolled down Magda’s cheeks.
“Of course, she has a feeding tube and oxygen mask currently, along with many monitors and pumps connected to her, so you just need to prepare yourself for that. Just make sure you keep your voices down,” Pernille nodded before they stood up to follow the doctor.
As they approached your bedside Magda felt the lump in her throat grow, she just wanted to be able to make everything better and she couldn’t.
“Älskling,” she whispered as she sat down in the chair beside your head, Pernille standing behind her with her hands on her shoulders, “we’re here, Älskling. We’re right here with you,” you stirred slightly, eyelids fluttering, and for a brief moment, Magda thought you might open your eyes. But they remained closed, and she felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, she couldn’t bear the thought of losing you.
You stirred, the heaviness in your body was almost suffocating as you pried your eyelids open, only to be greeted by the harsh fluorescent lights, and the machines around you beeping. You squinted trying to focus on the figures hovering beside you.
“Älsking, can you hear me?” Magda’s voice was laced with concern, yet you could pick out the slight relief in her tone. You turned your head slightly and saw her, tears glistening in her eyes, which were puffy. You nodded, as your eyes slipped closed again, and Magda moved to hold your hand. She really wanted to just curl up in your bed with you, but that was frowned upon in the ICU.
-
It was a few hours later when you woke up again, finally felt coherent enough to take in your surroundings, and realise you weren’t at ‘home’.
“Where…. Where am I?” you managed to croak out.
“You’re in the hospital, the ICU to be more specific, but you’re going to be okay,” Pernille whispered, both Magda and Leah asleep. You tried to reply but a wave of nausea rolled through you, forcing you to swallow your words back down, Pernille’s brow furrowed with concern, “Do you feel sick again? Do you want a bowl?”
“I-I’m okay,” you said as you shook your head.
“You’re a terrible liar, but I’ll believe you, just breathe through it,” Pernille said softly, just as a nurse walked in.
“Oh, I see we’re awake and more alert by the looks of it, I’m Linda, I’m just going to check your vitals and top you up on some medication, the doctors will do rounds soon, so if you’re happy to wait until then for information they’ll update you then” Linda said and you nodded.
“Are you all missing the game?” you asked Pernille and she nodded.
“The teams don’t know why though,” she replied and you sighed, “none of this is your fault, Chelsea will definitely win now though, with Arsenal missing it’s main centre back duo,” you rolled your eyes at her as both the nurse and her laughed.
-
After a while, four doctors entered the room, all of them holding tablets, “Good to see you awake,” one of the said, his tone professional yet warm, “you’re responding well to treatment, but we need to keep you here for observation a bit longer, at least until it’s clear the infection is going away or we find the source,” he continued speaking but you zoned out, not wanting to hear more, it was starting to dawn on you that this was a lot more serious than it seemed to be at the start. You wanted to play again, you wanted to ask if you would be able to play again. But you knew getting healthy was a priority. Not everyone makes it out of the ICU, you knew that.

Harlots of Autumn Master List | Read on AO3 |Part 1 of Harlots of Autumn
The day you were presented to the court during a ball as an eligible female, was the day that sealed your fate. You were meant to secure a husband and elevate your family’s status just like your cousins. It was harder for you, not being of the Autumn Court. That didn’t mean you couldn’t try. You had begged your aunt and uncle to take you to the next ball and begrudgingly they did. You regretted it when you were watched like an Autumn Hawk by five of the seven Vanserra heirs.
The youngest- he was your age or possibly a little older. He seemed the least intimidating of them all. He didn’t pay you much mind, thankfully. Only chatted with you for a brief moment. You thought that was why his brothers were staring. But you still felt eyes on you as you worked the room, talking up males closer to your station than an Heir of the High Lord. You felt confident in your mingling by the end of the night. Until you went to leave and instead of immediately traveling home, you were pulled into a room by your uncle.
“The High Lord has made an offer for you.” He did not look you in the eyes.
“For me?” You frowned. Your aunt looked solemn and not meeting your gaze either. “What kind of offer?”
“You have to understand, dear. You’re getting older and with the new babe to raise- You’ll be well taken care of.” She said softly.
“I don’t understand.” You mind flashed to the way the heirs' eyes raked over you. How they sneered and watched you all night. “Am I, am I to be betrothed?”
“No. No, you won’t be married.”
You were more confused. “What did he offer you? What does he want with me?” You became more frightened the longer his silence went.
“Being an orphan and from another court, this was honestly the best choice.” Your aunt seemed to speak to herself instead of you.
“What did you do?” Your heart was racing, tears welling in your eyes.
Your uncle finally looked at you. His sadness was palpable.
“He gave us more land- more money than we know what to do with, in exchange for you. For his sons.”
“Sons?” Your were going to be sick. More tears clouded your vision. You knew exactly what that meant. “You gave me up to be a harlot? For some extra land and money?”
“You’ll be taken care of. You’ll be paid handsomely, and have your own money. You’ll be part of the court. It’s a life better than what a male of our station could ever-”
“But I will be a whore!” You cried out.
“You will be a mistress,” your uncle hissed. “This is not a brothel, you’ll be under the protection of the High Lord. You’ll still be able to see us-“
“As I would want to see you after this,” you hissed in return.
He back-handed you for it. You stumbled and cradled your cheek.
“He wants you for his youngest first,” your uncle continued, glaring at you. “You’re lucky he doesn’t want you for himself. If you’re smart you just might become the youngest son’s wife.”
“A whore never becomes a wife,” you whispered.
“This is not a debate. We will go home and pack your things. They want you back here by tomorrow afternoon.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
You wondered if you could die of shame.
Walking into the Forest House the next day, your aunt made you hold your head high despite your fate. You were ushered down the halls to the infirmary to meet with the healer. Thankfully the healer was female. You were in good health. You held your breath as the female went under your skirts and checked you. You had declined male advances your whole life, waiting like a good female for a husband.
Obviously that got you far.
That evening you were led to a room and bathed by servants. The pine green dress they gave you to put on was worth more than months wages in the village, judging by the fabric. They styled your hair and you avoided looking at yourself in the mirror. More servants brought you food and then finally you were left alone. You couldn’t eat, nausea from nerves rolling your stomach. You wanted to rage; to cry. You knew your aunt and uncle didn’t love you- not when you were the cause of your mother’s death during childbirth. But you never thought they would sell you.
The door opened, jolting you from your thoughts. The kind male you spoke with briefly last night came in. He was just as lovely as the night before; dressed down in a white tunic and brown trousers. He smiled, though it didn’t reach his kind eyes. You stood and curtsied.
“Lord Lucien,” she stared at the floor.
You introduced yourself and stumbled over the title of lady. You didn’t know if you could call yourself a lady now.
“I remember,” he replied softly.
You dared to look up, your eyes meeting his sad russet ones.
“Shall we get this over with?” You glanced at the bed in the room, twisting your hands together.
Lucien scoffed. “We don’t have to do this.”
You frowned, fear flipped your stomach. “They will check me.”
“There are ways around that,” Lucien replied flippantly.
You started to panic.
“Lord Lucien, if you are as kind of a male as you seem, please allow me this comfort.” You pleaded. “I- you seem like you’d be more gentle than your brothers.” You were met with silence. “Please? I don’t want to force you but I also don’t-“ you couldn’t say it.
If he didn’t take your maidenhood, one of the other males would. You doubted they cared whether or not they hurt you badly. Lucien sighed heavily; you wonder if he was realizing the same thing.
“Promise me you will tell me if I hurt you.” You nodded. “Can I undress you?”
“Yes.” Your face heated against your will.
“Turn around. I’ll only take off your dress, then you can get on the bed.”
You inhaled deeply to calm your nerves and turned to face away from him. You heard his footsteps; he stopped behind you and gently brushed back your hair. Goosebumps cascaded down your arms, and he slowly dragged his fingers down your neck to where your dress ties started on your back.
“Oh you’re a devil,” you laughed, unable to stop yourself.
He chuckled behind you. “I want to make it good for you, is that not what you asked for?”
“I suppose I did.”
He undid the ties to your dress, the front of it falling forward. You held the fabric close to your chest instead of letting it fall out of instinct. Lucien ran a warm finger up your spine. He leaned in close and you tense your shoulders.
“Drop the dress and get on the bed.” His warm breath fanned along your ear and neck.
Reluctantly, you obliged. The bed was soft, better than the one in the place you once called home. The duvet was a forest green with white sheets underneath. You shuddered at how those sheets would be stained by the end of this. You covered your chest with your arms and sat at the head of the bed.
“Don’t be so shy,” he grinned wickedly at you as he tugged off his shirt.
Your eyes went to his chest, then downward to his trousers before quickly you looked back to his eyes. It felt like your whole face was flushed. He crawled up the bed to you and you could smell his scent sweeten with arousal. He looked like it would eat you alive, the way he grinned at you.
“Lay back, let me see you.” He groaned when you moved your arms, revealing your breasts. “You are a pretty one.”
He pushed you back and crawled over you. You were correct about his gentleness. He was so careful with you, asking you constantly if it was okay to touch you or if it hurt. Lucien coaxed you into relaxing by kissing you gently and then moving down to take your breast in his mouth. He had you squirming under him, your hips rolling against his and his hard cock in his trousers. Lucien moved down further and made you come on his tongue and fingers before he took you with his cock. Then he made you come again with him.
Good was an understatement of how you felt. You didn’t come to your senses until he moved off of you. Then you felt too naked, cold from his lack of body heat over you. You moved to get out of the bed, to grab the dress from earlier, if only to cover yourself before the healers came. You looked back at the sheets and gasped. Lucien was lying on the other side of the bed, arm over his eyes to block out the light. He lifted his arm to look at you.
“Are you all right?”
“The sheets,” you grabbed the dress off the floor to cover yourself. “They’re clean.”
”I don’t know about that. I know I broke a sweat getting that second one out of you.” Lucien grinned at you. “You were pretty wet for me too when I finally fucked you. I’m sure that’s on the sheets as well.”
“There’s no blood, Lucien,” you scowled, cheeks flushing at his blatant crudeness.
He laughed. “Females only bleed when a male doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
”But the healer-“
”Edith won’t care, I promise.” He sat up and looked over the bed for his own clothes. “Let me go get her, I’m sure she’s ready to be done with this as we are.”
Regrettably, that was the first and only time you went to bed with Lucien. You had assumed before that night that you were sent to take his own first time but Lucien was far too experienced for that to be the case. You later found out the real reason you were given to him was because of his dalliance with lesser fae. As crudely put by one of the brothers, they “assumed a high fae cunt would change his mind.”
It didn’t; and a few years later a poor female paid the price for it. You wouldn’t see Lucien again after that for another century.

Masterlist
Summary: (Y/n) and Henry have a house of girls and they are guardians of their nieces who they think of as their daughters. But looking after their girls isn’t easy when (Y/n)’s pregnant and their fifteen year old niece starts to resent (Y/n) and is fighting for Henry’s sole attention.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jamie, come back." Reaching her hand out, (Y/n) tried to grab hold of her niece by her arm but she shrugged her away. "Jamie!"
She didn't mean to snap, she really didn't but she couldn't seem to help it when it came to Jamie. If she were only a few years younger, things might be different than this. If she were twelve years old again or even ten, life might be a lot easier. (Y/n) hated herself every time she wished she could rewind time because it wasn't fair to think that way about Jamie, but she did wind (Y/n) up on purpose and they both knew it.
Fifteen was a complicated age and Jamie's life had been far from easy, (Y/n) knew that better than most, but she wanted things to be like they used to be. When Jamie was younger and she'd look up at (Y/n) with those bright blue eyes that could hold the world within them. She would stare up at (Y/n) and her lips would form such a cheesy grin of adoration and then she'd take (Y/n)'s hand and widely swing their arms back and forth unti. (Y/n)'s shoulder ached.
That was what (Y/n) loved, when her little niece would beam up at her or run and tackle her down with a hug instead of shoot her down with a glare.
She wasn't always like this.
There were quite a few times where Jamie would actually get along with (Y/n), she'd ask for make up advice or want (Y/n) to do something stylish with her hair to make her look pretty. She wuld ask to try on (Y/n)'s clothes and see what would look good on her and she would share a joke she thought was great. But she was getting older now and everything was changing for Jamie and therefore, her moods were changing too.
"What?"
"Don't run off, just walk with me, please." (Y/n) shrugged her shoulders whilst she rammed the pushchair up the kerb to catch up with Jamie who had her hands stuffed into her coat pockets and a speedy determination to her steps.
"I want to go home,"
"And you think I don't? When the girls come out we'll be home within ten minutes. There's no use sulking off ahead anyway, I've got the keys."
With a sigh, Jamie kicked a few loose stones around with her trainers before she nodded and waited for (Y/n) to catch her up. It wasn't that she didn't want to be seen with (Y/n) and they hadn't had a big argument or anything, she just wanted to go home.
She didn't see why she had to accompany (Y/n) to collect the girls from school, she could just give Jamie her key and meet her back at home instead of making her come along.
"What's wrong?" Jamie leaned her head to the side and narrowed her eyes when she looked back at (Y/n). Her aunt was doubled over the pram with her head hung low and her back arched like she was in some kind of pain.
"Nothing, just feeling a bit sick. I'm okay."
(Y/n) shook off the wave of nausea rattling through her system and tried to move a bit quicker to catch up and reach the school gates. The girls would be bustling out at any moment and then Jamie really would speed ahead to try and get home as quick as possible.
Jamie was fifteen now and she could walk home by herself by all means, but (Y/n) liked walking to get her from school. She would walk the long way from home to Jamie's school, wait for her and then go on to get Alice, Violet and Minnie from their school two streets over. When they were younger, Jamie loved being picked up from school and (Y/n) knew deep down she didn't mind walking home with (Y/n), but her eyes would light up if Henry ever came on the school run too.
Over the five years that Jamie and her sister Alice had lived with (Y/n) and Henry, Jamie had slowly gone from being attached to (Y/n) to being clingy to Henry instead. It did crush a big part of (Y/n) because Jamie was resenting (Y/n) in some way. She was retreating from her and feeling cold towards her because she was growing up and her emotions and feelings were changing and complicated and (Y/n) hadn't done anything but love her niece like her own child.
(Y/n) and Henry brought the girls to live with them because they loved them and only wanted to do right by them. But (Y/n) did find some comfort in Alice, the ten year old was as close to her as ever. Alice was more like (Y/n)'s other daughter and Jamie had well and truly gone from her daughter back to her niece.
"Mummy!"
Turning her head, (Y/n) felt herself smile despite the nausea when she saw a flock of dark brown curls flopping in the distance, heading her way. Violet barelled into (Y/n) like they had been separated for years and no merely hours. (Y/n) leaned down to kiss her hair that so resembled Henry and breathed in her scent. She prayed to God that when her girls got older, they wouldn't feel so distant towards her like Jamie. But then again, Jamie had had a bad upbringing before she came to live with (Y/n) and Henry so it was only natural that she started to rebel.
Just as Violet pulled away, (Y/n) felt Minnie cling to her legs for a few moments before she moved to get in her pushchair (Y/n) had brought for her. Minnie was only four but she was glued to her pushchair, she didn't like walking unless they were in the park, she felt safer strapped into her chair.
Finally Alice came skipping through the gates and trotted over to (Y/n), mumbling something (Y/n) couldn't make out before she moved to grab Jamie's hand. Alice was Jamie's weak spot because they had been through a lot together. Jamie could be in a foul mood but as soon as her sister came over, she would smile and pretend everything was okay. It was part of her defense mechanism.
"Did you have a good day?" (Y/n) leaned her weight on her right arm that was pushing the chair and held Violet's hand with her free hand.
"I did some painting... can we videocall daddy tonight?"
"I'll message him and double check what he's doing, but hopefully you can," (Y/n) couldn't quite remember Henry's schedule, he might be busy with a press conference until late or he might have the evening to himself before he flew home tomorrow morning. He had been gone for two weeks and all four girls had missed him terribly.
(Y/n) watched Jamie and Alice toddling on ahead of her and tried to find it in herself to smile. It felt so much better for all of them when Henry was home with them, without him it was like they all felt a missing piece within them. the girls became sluggish and moped about until he came home, at one point when he had been gone a month (Y/n) thought they were all going insane.
Leaning over the pushchair, (Y/n) ruffled Minnie's blonde hair, watching how she snuggled into the chair already half asleep.
A comfortable silence fell over the three of them while Jamie and Alice kept a good ten steps ahead, seemingly oblivious in their own little world yet never straying too far from (Y/n)'s reach. (Y/n) tried her best to listen to Violet's riveting conversation about all the new spellings she had done correct in school but it was hard to stay focused.
There was only one more night sleeping alone- or with Minnie sneaking into the bed- until Henry would be back home with them all. Two weeks had dragged on into a lifetime and (Y/n) always felt at a loss when Henry wasn't around.
It was a relief when the five of them all finally made it to the driveway with two cars and the jeep all lined up on the left hand side.
"Can I have the key?" Jamie turned round and held her hand out to (Y/n) while Alice and Violet both made a break for the front door, trying to see who would get there first.
Just as (Y/n) felt her fingers curling around the key in her bag, a violent scream tore from her lips when she felt arms deadlocking around her waist. Within a second her feet were lifted from the floor and she was swung to the side at the same time as a pair of lips met her neck and a hard chest was pressed to her back. Her heart thudded in her chest and she couldn't breathe when every muscle was frozen stiff and deadlocked in position from fright.
Henry.
(Y/n) could feel herself becoming lightheaded and sick from how quickly he was spinning her round and round while her knees were pulled up near her stomach. It felt strange yet automatic to feel Henry's wide arms around her waist like a cage locked around her and with how he had picked her up, they were almost the same height with his head buried in her neck.
She could feel him laughing loudly into her skin that he was nipping when he finally stopped spinning her around and set her back down carefully on her feet. His arms stayed around her middle and he leaned down to kiss her cheek.
Looking around, (Y/n) set her sights on the girls, only just realising they might have been scared with how loudly she had screamed. Henry had come out from behind the cars, none of them had seen him and they certainly weren't expecting him to be home today or for him to come out of nowhere and surprise them like this.
Violet and Alice had turned around and bolted back over to them at the sound of screaming, Minnie was struggling to scramble out of her chair and see what the commotion was all about. And Jamie had one arm in the air like she had been ready to punch whoever she thought was going to attack her aunt before she realised it was Henry and froze on the spot.
"Daddy!"
"You're home!"
Henry smothered (Y/n) with a searing kiss before he finally let go of her so he could reach down and scoop Minnie up into his arms since she reached him first.
"Hey little mouse, you okay?"
"Missed you daddy," Minnie couldn't help but squeal when Henry peppered kisses all over her face but she deadlocked her arms around his neck when she knew he was about to try and put her down. She wasn't letting him let her go so quickly, even if the other girls wanted his attention too. He was hers now, she had gotten to him first, she was the winner and the prize was Henry's love and affection.
Leaning down, Henry pressed kisses to both Violet and Alice's heads and wrapped them up in his free arm seeing as Minnie was putting up a big fight to stay pressed up to his chest.
When Jamie slowly walked over, Henry wrapped an arm around her and kissed her forehead, smiling when she didn't let go for a minute or so.
"Why didn't you say you were coming home early?"
"I wanted to surprise my girls," Giving Jamie a small nudge, Henry turned and walked towards the door with his army of girls following close by. It was a last minute change of plans to get an earlier flight and he had been desperate to call and check on them all. But at the same time, he didn't get many opportunities to surprise them and he knew it would be great to see their looks if he turned up without telling them first.
All their school bags were either hung up or very quickly discarded next to the coat rack behind the door before all of them piled through into the lounge. After each girl entered the lounge, their heads turned and their big doe eyes looked up at Henry with a look of wonder and confusion.
Following after them all, (Y/n) wrapped her arms around Henry's waist and tucked her face between his shoulderblades. Her much smaller height meant she barely scraped up to Henry's shoulders on a good day but that was how he liked it. He liked to tower over her or rest his chin on top of her head, but his favourite was to pin her between him and the wall.
Leaning around him, (Y/n) looked to see why the girls hadn't put the tv on yet but her stomach flipped with shock when she looked around the room. There were a five balloons ranging from pale dusty pink to deep ocean blue scattered around the room.
He wanted to tell the girls their news.
"We have balloons?" Violet spun on her heels with a big grin on her face, praying that they each could have a balloon.
"What's going on?" Even Jamie couldn't hide the smile that was slowly spreading across her face. She didn't like to admit it but she did love a surprise and usually when they did this kind of thing, something good was about to happen. They might be going away on holiday, they might be having a party soon. Maybe Henry had a new movie role he wanted to share with them. There was no end of possibilities going through her mind.
"Sit down, we've got a surprise girls." Henry beckoned them to move and sit down so he and (Y/n) could move into the room.
Jamie perched on the arm of the sofa while Violet and Alice bounced back in their seats on the sofa and Minnie begrudgingly let Henry sit her down next to the girls.
"What's the surprise?" Violet couldn't take her eyes off the balloons that were spread out from the corner of the room, across the fireplace and near the bay window. She loved surprises but she didn't like the anticipation of waiting to find out what it was.
(Y/n) felt a bubble of anxiety welling up in her chest before Henry's arm swooped around her waist and he pulled her into his side. They had already guessed what their girl's reactions would be and mostly they knew it would be enthusiastic but that didn't stop (Y/n)'s anxiety from spiralling away with her. They had decided that when Henry came home, they would tell the girls their news, (Y/n) had thought she would have one more day to worry about it before it happened. But Henry had come home early and she knew he was so excited that he wouldn't be able to keep quiet, which was slightly adorable.
With a lasting look, (Y/n) nodded at Henry, silently agreeing that this was the moment.
"You're all gonna be big sisters... we're having a baby."
Henry's hand made slow circles over (Y/n)'s stomach as he watched each girl for their reaction.
Minnie was first to react, a small squeal left her lips before she began to clap as if they had told her they had won a championship game of some kind. Violet's dark brown eyes seemed to widen into big saucers bit the smile on her lips and the way her fingers were twitching and rubbing together gave away how excited she was feeling internally.
Alice seemed to blush as if she had been told some sordid secret she didn't truly understand but she seemed to silently gasp in utter surprise which was a good sign. She knew she wasn't technically going to be a big sister, she was going to have a cousin but it didn't feel that way. Since she was five, she had grown up with Violet who had been only two when Alice and Jamie moved in with them. She had been a little sister to Alice and she had been here when (Y/n) was pregnant and gave birth to Minnie who again, was a little sister for her to play with.
For all intents and purposes, Alice was their sister and she had come close many times to calling (Y/n) mum and Henry dad. They were her make shift family, the parents who chose and actually wanted her and she wanted so badly to be their child. She was treated like their very own daughter and a lot of the time, it slipped her mind that biologically she wasn't theirs.
Jamie wasn't happy.
The bright blood red face and tears tracing down her cheeks showed she wasn't happy and it broke (Y/n)'s heart.
"That's why you've been sick?" The way she spoke made it sound like an accusation and (Y/n) couldn't help but flinch a little. "It's not fair!"
Tears fell from (Y/n)'s eyes when Jamie stood up and roughly barged into her shoulder on her war path out of the living room. They could hear her feet pounding into the stairs as she galloped up to her room to hide herself away with her sorrow.
Henry's arm moved up from (Y/n)'s waist to delicately place over her collar bone and shoulders and his lips pressed into the back of (Y/n)'s head. She could feel him sighing into her hair and whispering that he would talk to her later. She quickly wiped her eyes on the back of her sleeve before she moved her hands to gently cradle Henry's bicep that was placed across her chest. At least the rest of their girls were happy.
"Do we have to share rooms now?" Violet looked rather nervous but she tried to smile.
She didn't want to share her room, none of them would want to do that. They all had their own rooms and that was how they liked it, Minnie had just got her big girl bed too now. She wouldn't want to be in a room with a baby and Violet didn't want to share with Minnie when she didn't always sleep through the night.
"No sweetheart, the study can be turned into a nursery," (Y/n) had already been thinking about it, they could turn the upstairs study into the nursery and just have the downstairs one at the back of the house for Henry's study. The perks of a big house meant each girl had their own space and there was still room for new editions.
"Where's baby now?" Minnie hopped up off the sofa and trotted behind her parents to pick out a rose pink balloon for herself before she stood in front of them like a strict teacher, waiting impatiently for an answer.
"Right here," Both Henry's hands moved to cup (Y/n)'s stomach and he couldn't help but chuckle at his youngest girl. She looked like her mind had been blown wide open, but then again, she was only four. Minnie hadn't seen anyone in the family who was pregnant before, she didn't know where they came from or how it happened. The only babies she knew were the dolls she played with.
"But... but, how do you get it out?" Her small hands started to pat (Y/n)'s tummy like it was a drum but she sounded so serious and concerned as if (Y/n) had put the baby there by mistake and now it was stuck forever.
"You don't have to worry about that, Minnie mouse. Around Christmas, we'll get the baby out just fine."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey," Henry poked his head round the door to the dark scarlet bedroom, his eyes instantly finding Jamie tucked under her weighted blanket in the middle of the bed. When she didn't respond, he took it as his cue to enter the room and he perched himself down on the end of the bed, resting his hand on her lower leg. "Are you alright?"
Her eyes gingerly looked up for a brief moment before she looked back down at the stars on her blanket, silently nodding her head. She knew the way she reacted was rude and she knew it had been hurtful but she couldn't seem to help it.
"You know you really upset her, don't you? Why aren't you happy?"
Henry could think of a few reasons why Jamie wasn't best pleased about this but he had truly hoped she would be happy. When they had Violet Jamie had been so excited to have a cousin to play with and when they had Minnie, Jamie had been amazing. She had helped (Y/n) when she felt ill, gone out to buy the crib with Henry and went out with (Y/n) for all the clothes and blankets and picked out toys and dummies, everything. She had been so involved and caring and excited about Minnie.
"I... I just, I'm not yours."
"What?"
"Me and Alice aren't yours. People see me out with (Y/n) and they give funny looks, they know she's not old enough to be my mum. I'm like the odd one out and now you're having another baby, I wish... I wish I was yours."
Jamie didn't want to be selfish but it was hard not to be when everything bad seemed to happen to her. For about seven years she had been brought up by Henry and (Y/n) and for five years they were her legal guardians. She loved them like they were her parents, but people could see (Y/n) wasn't her mum. With Henry it was harder to see if he was old enough or not, but (Y/n) looked younger than her actual age. (Y/n) was fourteen when Jamie was born, she wasn't old enough to be her mum but since Jamie was three, (Y/n) had acted as her mum and took on that responsibility.
Having another baby just proved that Jamie wasn't theirs and didn't truly belong with them but she wanted to. She wanted to erase the past and change all her memories and make them her parents. She wanted nothing more than to be their family, truly theirs.
"Sweetheart..." Henry hung his head and pursed his lips, he needed the right words but he didn't know what they were. "You know when I have my interviews, you know what I tell them?"
"No?"
"I say I've got four girls waiting back home for me and I always mean it. You're my girl and (Y/n) might not be old enough to be your mum but she's acted as a teenage parent. You don't know how many people have seen her in the street at the age of what, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, with a toddler and called her a teenage mum or said something snotty to her."
Jamie was too young to know or remember what it was like.
She had grown up with her grandparents raising her and (Y/n) being her mother figure. She didn't know what it was like.
When (Y/n) would go out and take Jamie to town for some shopping or take her to play centres and have people telling her she was too young to be a mother or saying slurs at her. Calling her names in the street, calling her everything under the sun just because they thought they had the right to judge.
Jamie didn't know how hard it had been for (Y/n) to raise her and take her on when she didn't have to. She didn't know how hard it was for (Y/n) to date Henry and tell him she truly wasn't Jamie's mother but she was raising her for the time being. And Henry took her on as his niece and then as his own daughter because he cared. He saw how hard (Y/n) tried with her and he wanted to help and he loved her as if she was his girl.
"I know it's not easy for you and it isn't always fair, but I need you to try and be nice to (Y/n). She loves you and you've been pushing her away. We're never going to kick you out or act like you don't belong here, fuck even Alice is starting to call me dad and I'm fine with that. I don't want you to feel like we don't love you, sweetheart."
Deep down, Jamie knew she would never be kicked out or told she didn't belong, she knew that. But her deepest fear was being pushed out because she wasn't theirs.
If she was being truly honest with herself, Jamie knew another reason why she was starting to feel the green eyed monster dwell in the pit of her stomach. She could see what (Y/n) had and she wanted it too. Jamie wanted to have a great marriage and a family of her own, and she knew she didn't want that just yet but she could see the life (Y/n) had and it wasn't fair.
(Y/n) had Henry and he was the light in Jamie's eyes. She loved him, he was her father figure but she couldn't bring herself to call him her father. He was uncle Henry, the man who stuck up for her when no one else did, the one who acted like she was the only person in the world worth listening to.
Sometimes, Jamie wondered what it would be like to her her aunt, married to Henry. It looked so perfect, so inviting and amazing and now (Y/n) was having another baby with him.
Why couldn't that be Jamie?
"I know you do, and I do love her, so much, I just... I don't know, we clash, I get mardy and jealous but I do love her."
"I know, now you know tomorrow is Tuesday so after school-"
"No, no please don't-"
"Sweetheart I don't have a choice. If it was up to me you wouldn't have to go but she is your mum."
Every two- sometimes three- weeks, Jamie and Alice had to see their mum for an hour after school. It was called contact, they would meet at a social services centre and spend an hour talking to her and acting like she was going to try and be in their lives, but she never did.
They didn't want to see her, she wasn't their mum in their eyes and Jamie knew (Y/n) didn't want much to do with Jasmine and they were sisters.
Jasmine had barely scraped seventeen when she gave birth to Jamie and she couldn't be a mother. She wasn't a natural and she didn't want to do it, leaving Jamie to be raised by her grandparents and (Y/n) and the amount of times she promised to take care of her and Alice and eventually, they went back to their grandparents house. Until (Y/n) stepped in and said they were living with her, that was the best day of their lives.
At least they didn't have to see their dad. There was a court order in place, Jamie was old enough to know that her dad couldn't contact her or Alice, under any circumstances.
That was one of the things she admired about (Y/n), her fierceness around Jamie's dad. She had punched him and kicked him to the kerb more times than Jamie could count and it made her aunt a hero when she was younger. Even now if he ever came around, Jamie knew (Y/n) would get him out of her life.
"I'm taking you to contact after school, then you me and Alice can go do anything you want. Just the three of us, I promise."
"Thank you,"
Henry leaned back against the wall to brace himself when Jamie suddenly threw herself onto him with her arms wrapping around his neck. He knew she could get jealous over attention and he knew it was natural. After all she had gone through, he and (Y/n) agreed Jamie and Alice needed time with them on their own. They had fought for attention and love all their lives, the couple vowed they wouldn't have to fight any longer.
Jamie lived for time alone with Henry, even if Alice would be coming along too. She could bear the hour of her mother's incessant pleas and nagging if she got time with Henry afterwards.

Both were asleep in bed, when little 7 year old Tony walked into the bedroom and climbing into their bed.
Jason woke up first rubbing his eyes and sighed, "Bubba what you doing? We built you a new big boy bed last week.."
"Bad dream.." Said little Tony balling up his fist and getting under the covers, "..and Daddy is out."
"Oh right Momma visiting Aunt Peg for the week.."
"I'm sorry..c-can I stay?"
That moment Elizabeth woke up ruffling her nephew's bed head and yawned, "Sure, Bambino. But you wanna talk about the bad dream first?"
Tony looked down holding his teddy bear and mumbled, "I was in a dark and scary cave with a dragon..and I could not fight him, I was running but there no way to go.."
"Aww sweetie, look it's okay not every dream is gonna be a good one but you're okay. Everything is okay, you hear me?"
" I know..it's okay, b-but I was lost and scared..I did not save the princess..I fail.."
"Oh no sweetie, you didn't fail anyone. It was just a bad dream, there are no dragons here to hurt you."
"But the princess?"
"Maybe you will save her in the next dream."
Jason added with a tired smile, "Or maybe the princess already saved herself? Like auntie Lizzie or auntie Peg. And she's now waiting for you in the dream."
"Really?" Tony asked with a small smile.
"Yeah, sometimes it's the little prince that needs to go on journey to find the princess waiting for him in the end."
"Okay, I am ready to sleep now..and meet the princess."
"Out of curiosity, who was the princess?"
"Her name was Molly."
"Ohh nice name."
Elizabeth cut in with a chuckle, "Yeah very nice! Now we can please go to sleep and save the kingdom tonight in this dream?"
The boys nodded with a smile, cuddling up in bed with the lady of the house.
------
Elizabeth blowing raspberries on Tony's tummy as his giggles filled up the house with laughter. Jason was building up rocking chair in the living room and walked into the kitchen.
Jarvis was making lunch for them.
"Hey babe." He said with a smile, kissing her forehead then gave his nephew one on the cheek.
"Hi dear." She replied with a smile bouncing their nephew in her lap who giggled brightly.
It was a running gag but a sweet one calling each other pet names since the day they met. It went beyond, just them calling each other nicknames Jason called Jarvis's wife, Ana, honey and doll all the time as a term of endearment.
"JJ!" Tony yelled in glee with a toothy grin, as both adults looked their eyes at his silliness.
Something that would carry on once Tony is older is that silly toothy grin of his, no matter what the situation is. Especially his giggles.
Jarvis set the table for them, as Jason rushed over to help him and cutting Elizabeth's food into smaller sizes. Ana joined them soon enough watching all of this in curiosity. However, it confused the British man, once they all sat down to eat.
"Why does Jason need to cut your food, Miss Stark?" Jarvis asked them as he ate.
"Just watch, dear." Ana added, curious knowing she will get an answer.
With Tony's booster seat resting between them. Ana grabs a glass of wine and sits next to her husband. Looking at the kid who are begin to eat but what caught Jarvis's eye was Tony’s other hand gripping Elizabeth’s left hand in a tight grip.
"Aww how adorable." Ana said with a smile eating her chicken.
"It is indeed but what exactly is happening? I might need an explanation." Jarvis questioned with a smile.
"Tony had this new habit where he only can eat if he holds Elizabeth or Maria’s hand. It started a few days ago." Jason explained chuckling as he ate.
"I don't mind it. It keeps him relaxed and allows me to make sure he's doing alright while eating." Elizabeth replied eating with her other hand.
"What happens if you remove your hand?" Ana asked, in love with the way Tony's happily eating.
Elizabeth lets go of Tony's hand and all of them looking at the youngest Stark who started fusing while chewing a piece of meat, one hand starts waving asking for his auntie’s hand.
Elizabeth just let Tony wrap his fingers with her own in the meantime as Ana chuckled and Jarvis snorted with a smile.
"Howard tried it yesterday, removing Tony's hand away from Maria and he just cried. Not pretty." Jason added chuckling.
"It was hilarious!" Elizabeth told them as she snickered, "My brother promised to let him sleep with their room last night, if he stopped. Howard was third wheeling."
------
“Will you please go to sleep now? You're a growing boy, come on please do it Uncle JJ.” Jason sighed and rubbed his own face with his palm.
“No way.” Tony runs “I wan Liz…”
“I give up.” Jason buried his face in the kid’s bed
Jason finally gets up and walks to the living room where his best girl is reading something from her notebook. Watching Tony just dive to her lap startling the woman.
“What the-?” Elizabeth jumped out of reflex “I-shouldn’t you be in bed and counting sheep?”
“I’m not sleepy.” Tony shakes his head.
“Well, I am.” Jason sighed and sat next to Elizabeth looking into her eyes hoping she understood the silent help signal, "No more kids, one is enough.."
That was when Hank Pym called as Elizabeth put him on the speaker and started talking with him as she tried to put her kid to sleep.
"Lizzie is this a bad time?" Hank asked while on the phone, hearing Tony mumbling in the background and Jason's voice muttering something.
"No, Hankie it's fine. Someone's allergic to sleep just like his father, I'll pay you 500 bucks if you can get him to sleep." Elizabeth replied jokingly.
"I'll see what I can do. Do you remember the equation use for invention you and Howard were making?"
"Actually, yeah I do. The one for that android prototype? Yeah I do."
"Good because I thinking we can use for this new formula I was creating."
Both scientists go to work, talking with the equipment and possible new investments they would make that month to present to the others. Laughing and gushing about their week as well.
Jason was napping when he was accidentally smack on the shoulder due to Elizabeth's excitement how on they can improve the formula for the shrink ray.
"Ow!" He shouted softly, being woken up.
"Oh, sorry JJ. I was just, you know." She replied trying to explain with a chuckle.
"I know let me take this little guy off your hands."
"Alright."
Both expected to find Tony still awake on his auntie's lap but he nodding off as they spoke. They chuckled quietly thanking Hank's believing their science talk tired him out or something.
He picked him up as Tony's head rested on his shoulder, his eyes were trying to stay open as he mumbled, "I'm not tired...no sleepy.."
"Oh yes you are, Bubba. Very sleepy." Jason said with a soft chuckle with sighed, "Say night night."
Elizabeth stood up cupping his little face mumbling sweet nothing into his ears as Tony hummed a soft, "..night night."
"Night, my little star." She replied with a soft smile, deciding to help tuck him in.
They tucked in their little boy, turning on the recording on Maria Stark's gentle singing voice as background noise for Tony.
Moments like that, they both wished Howard and Maria were not busy sometimes but they're more than happy to raise the little guy instead.
----
As much as he is their little boy, he is Howard's son and that being said he was a little rebellious at time. Especially in his early teens and his years as an adult..
"Anthony Edward Stark, where the hell you think your going?" Elizabeth asked with her arms crossed and tapped her foot with a glare.
"Out!" Repiled Tony, who was 12 years old at this point with a classic smirk.
"It's Monday afternoon on a school night!"
"So?"
"So you're not heading out to whatever your heading off to! I don't care what it is, Friday it's another thing, I allow it. But Monday, hell no!"
"You're not dad, auntie Liz!"
"And thank god I ain't. Be lucky it ain't Peggy either, why do you want to head out anyway? To act cool with your friends?"
Tony sighed in defeat dramatically dropping the smirk and crossed his arms, "Well no shit. All my friends are doing it."
Jason stepped in after returning home from an getting supplies hearing his nephew, "Please tell you didn't just curse in front of your aunt."
"I just said 'shit'! Relax.." Tony replied with a sigh thinking of something knowing who's the softer parent, "And aunt Liz won't let me go out."
"First off no cursing at your aunt. And second, out where?"
"An party..all my friends will be there!"
"Is it on Friday?"
"Yup! It's on Friday, it's a small party."
Elizabeth scoffed, "No! It's tonight, an silly little stupid party with his friends doing god knows what. God knows if the parents will be there!"
"She's lying! She doesn't want me to have fun this week and stay stuck in this house, only invite to Rhodey or something." Tony shouted.
"Enough!" Jason yelled raising his voice, "I know she ain't lying and that you're the one who is actually lying. You know the rules Tony, no parties or anything on school night like Monday. And something tells me those kids parents don't know they're going to that party."
"B-but that's not fair! I should be allow to go." Tony yelled.
"No you shouldn't and it is fair, she’s saving you for tomorrow. She knows that something off is going on if it's on a Monday, simple as that. Doesn't that sound a little weird to you?"
"...yeah..it does."
"We will talk about this later."
A few more words were said before Tony left to the living room. Liz was pissed off and so was Jason.
He sighed and told her, "You were doing the right thing."
"I know.." She sighed, "I know. I'm just trying to protect him. Something tells me this won't be the last argument."
"Cause it won't. But we just try to lead him down the right path.."
"You got that right. Protecting him and all that.."
----
Road trips with the three of them tend to be something else. Tony always making himself known with questions, annoying them on purpose and snickering afterwards.
"Where we going?" Tony asked in the backseat, playing with his jacket zipper.
"To meet Peggy and your parents in San Diego." Elizabeth replied like it was obvious with a smile.
"And why are you driving?"
"Because your uncle JJ has a bad history with driving."
Jason perked up, "I'm right here, you know?!
Tony snorted, "Okay what time we get there?"
"Midnight." Elizabeth said with sigh.
"What happens at midnight?"
"You're bedtime."
"Can I drive?"
Both shouted at the same time, "No!"
That resulted in Tony laughing at their response as both parents chuckled at his ridiculous way to make times like that a joke or two.
---
Sometimes Elizabeth tends to become a mama bear, as if she isn't already. Like when Tony started dating, Howard rolled his eyes chuckling at his sister and Maria gushed hoping her boy enjoys the dating scene.
Elizabeth on the other hand, she was so excited and sat beside Jason one afternoon while he was reading. He was reading a classic children's' book from the shelfs, 'The Giving Tree' when Elizabeth came with a grin.
"Yes my darling?" He asked looking up from the book with a laugh.
"Tony got a date!" She repiled with a smile.
"With who? I mean I'm not surprise our kid has been a cheeky little guy since the age of 3."
"You know that day Howard took Tony down to that event in Chicago? Well there was this nice girl there with her mother, Tony sneaked off to see her and now they met again due to her mother bringing her here for an clothing event. And according to Ana, he has a date."
"That's my boy. If he's not a gentleman, I'll ground him for life. Where to?"
"Ana said that caravel downtown this weekend. She was eavesdropping and I love her for it."
"Not bad for a first actually date with a girl he seems to like."
Elizabeth sigh assuming something, Jason knew that look on her face and ask her what's going on.
"I don't want to sound cheesy but he's growing up so fast, JJ! I mean where did the time go? It felt like I was helping him add 2 + 2 yesterday! Now a date? Damn..he's my baby." Elizabeth admitted with a sigh.
Jason opened his arms pulling her into an tight embrace as she was nuzzling comfortably against his neck. She pouted, it was a rare moment but she did. He chuckled rubbing her shoulder.
"Aw, Lizzie, darling. He's growing up, I don't like it. Hell I would rather stop time and let him stay the way he is now. But we can't. Before we know it, he's buying his own house or deciding to buy this one off his father." Jason joked with a smile.
Elizabeth chuckled, "He might as well do that. I'm not ready for him to keep growing up, what if he doesn't want hugs from his auntie anymore? What if he grows up hating the idea of living with us? I mean it's a packed a house, i don’t blame him."
"Hahaha no, honey he won't. I think he rather have a packed house than a quieter one. And he will always need his auntie, he's your baby. Tony knows it, hell he might make you an godmother one day."
"Oh god no, don't think that far hahaha! I want him live in the moment now, before he's old and gray. I'm still gonna baby him no matter how old he is! You know that right?"
"Oh I know. And he's gonna be annoyed but love you for it. No matter what you do, you will be there to protect him and stand up for him."
"You too!"
"Oh hell yeah I will!"
---
And they are right about that. Yeah sure, Lizzie was gone under the ice for years due to a freak accident thinking she was goner. Having Jason and Tony feeling down in the dumps for some time.
But when that girl returned, her mama bird side came with her. And the man who was her right hand was more than happy about that.
"He's insane!" Liz yelled with a sigh, pointing at her nephew, "You're insane."
"Hello?! Have you met me?" Tony replied with a chuckle, "I think Pepper would love a big bunny for an anniversary slash Christmas present."
"Okay I dealt the whole 'I'm Iron Man, I can do whatever the hell I want' thing. But your Tony Stark! My Tony Stark, use that head of yours is a big bunny a good idea?"
"JJ gets you big jewelry and spoils you! I blame him for my actions, the bunny stays."
"Oh jeez. Did you at least get dinner ready?"
"Yeah it's pizza tonight. Why are you acting so uptight lately?"
Elizabeth sighed, "I've been asleep for years in ice and I come back to find you as Iron Man. A superhero. I know it's been an year now, but a part of me is still scared your gonna blow it!"
Tony chuckled pulling his auntie into a hug, "Oh Liz, it's me we're talking about. Hell, JJ is still terrified for my life. And honestly, I've already it blew it last year, in New York. I am stressed but I will be fine.."
"I know about your late night snacking and sleepless night, Tony. I'm worried about you. We all are."
"I know you are..but if anything happens, I will tell you. I promise."
~~~
Last forward to Christmas time, once the house blew up and JARVIS announces Tony's anxiety problems to everyone after arriving at the snowy side of the U.S. before shutting off.
Soon enough, they're dragging themselves across the snow to find a safe house. Rei's suit is being dragged across the snow, as he decide to start helping his godfather.
Liz snaps, "Anything you want to tell me?!"
"Okay in my defense I was gonna tell you soon." Tony winced.
"When?!"
"I was gonna make you an omelette and tell you about it!"
"Oh my god!"
Jason sighed dragging the Iron Man suit with them across with snow as the night fall onto of them.
"You two knew about this?! This whole time and didn't think of telling me?!" Jason yelled.
"I thought you knew about this! Or that he told you!" Liz yelled back.
"Great, now Ma and Pops are fighting." Rei added sarcastically, "Good job, Dad!"
Tony turned look at his son, “I’m sorry, how is this my fault?”
“Isn’t everything?”
“This is unbelievable.”
----
Other times, Jason and Elizabeth would be protecting themselves or their kids presence even when the guy isn't nearby.
Such as 2014, when they were called by SHIELD when it came to Alexander Pierce wanting their signature onto the new helicarriers.
Jason was tired as he asked, "Okay Pierce, what the hell is this?"
Elizabeth was standing next to him and pressed, "Mr. Secertary, what he meant is there a reason you've asked us to come here?"
"Signature, Mr. Underwood and Miss Stark." Said Pierce holding out pens, "As well, I was hoping you ask your nephew to stop by my niece's birthday party as a favor for Nick."
"He's our nephew, not a party entertainer." Elizabeth said with a raise eyebrow.
"Unless it's for his own children, and at the moment he's not dealing with your favors." Jason added, "What's the favor you're doing for Nick?"
"That's classified information, sir." Pierce replied.
"Of course it is..you know, it was a pretty long day and I don't want to be here. Matter a fact, none of us want to be to here! So good night Alexander." Elizabeth said standing up from her chair.
Jason stood up following her, opening the door for the girl as he gave Pierce an odd look before walking out. However that didn’t stop Elizabeth Stark to get information later on that day, returning to Alexander Pierce’s office after cooling down to get any information needed.
——
Sometimes due to Jason and Elizabeth being so close to Tony, along with their godchildren they get mistaken for the actual parents. Hell, even for being a couple more than once.
Such as in the early to late 2010s, Justin Hammer once asked, “Are theses your parents, Stark? I thought they were dead..”
Tony would give an sarcastic smile and reply, “Aw Hammer, you’re jealous? Too bad not everyone was given 3 sets of parents.”
“Three?”
“Oh yeah, didn’t you hear? Or were you too busy washing yourself in that horrible 80s cologne?”
Justin scoffed, “Damn. But seriously, are they giving out set of parents for free or what?”
“No. They’re mine, you can’t have them.” Tony added with a smirk.
~~~
Or when Fury called Tony and The Avengers out a few times, he will tend to bring JJ and Liz names into conversation, using the term parents. Such as in 2015, when they are all in Clint’s Barn. Also known as The Safe House.
Everyone was in the kitchen, including the teens and kids. Some were at the table such as Natasha, Bruce, Rick, Ava, Rei and Rochelle. Others were surrounding the area near the sink and fridge across from the kitchen island, such as Tony, Clint and Steve with Liane and Luna.
Clint’s wife Laura was listening in as the younger kids were wondering around.
Elizabeth was drying dishes as Jason washed them, meanwhile Fury was finishing placing some orange slices on a plate.
Nat spoke up, “You know boss, when I was hoping I saw ya, you would have more than that.”
Fury replied, “I do. I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everything, ears everywhere else. You kids have all the things you can dream to use, Stark’s parents didn’t have much to work with beforehand but they made do. Now here we are, back on earth with nothing but our wit and our willingness to do good.”
Jason added, “Just like old times, huh? Rehashing a plan during dinner, then collaborating in the morning to figure out what can be done..”
“Ain’t that the truth. Nothing but our strength to save the world and make a difference for others.” Elizabeth commented with a grin.
Fury gave them a half smile and continued his speech, “Ultron says The Avengers are the only thing between him and his mission. And weather or not he admits it, his mission is global destruction. All this lay in the grave. So stand, out with the platinum bastard.”
Natasha winked at Rick and Rochelle before saying with a smirk, “Steve doesn’t like that kinda talk.”
Steve gave her a humorous mock glare, “You know what, Romanoff?”
The teens and young adults in the room snorted and chuckled. The group kept talking, figuring out what will they all do next, with the young members of the team chiming into the conversations.
Even Jason mentioned, “You can try Pentagon's firewall, are they open this time?”
“That could work, they are still roughly open this time and hour.” Elizabeth comments.
“Should i know why you know that?”
“I had to message the Pentagon years ago to reach an barrier of systemic risks, for SHIELD’s locating tactics. And Tony did something he wasn’t supposed to..”
“Oh god, what was it this time?”
Fury ate his orange slice answering, “You’re boy cracked into SHIELD systemic burns, but beforehand he cracked their firewall.”
“That’s something, I do think I remember he did!” He replied chuckling, “We got mysterious calls afterwards for weeks.”
Tony chimed in with a grin sounding proud and said, “I cracked the Pentagon’s firewall in high school on a dare and got a sweet deal afterwards.”
Elizabeth grinned brightly, “That’s my boy! Definitely a win in my books.”
“And me? I cracked into SHIELD firewall too multiple times.” Rei added with a sly smile, as you could hear his godfather holding back his laughter in the background.
“I love you too, kiddo!” She replied to her sarcastic godson, “Both of you are the reasons for the facility's cyber-security sub-bar.”

Every Breath You Take
Violet Bridgerton II x Edward Becker (OC) Love Story
Chapter 1: Wonderstruck
Summer 1838
Edward had been to My Cottage before, he stopped regularly on his way to Eton to collect William Bridgerton but it was the summer of 1838 that would forever stick in his mind.
He was 16 years old and was becoming more aware of what was to become him in a few short years. He was the only son of the Duke of Somerset and he was 10 years younger than his older sisters and he had been unexpected but to his father, a welcome relief but now at 16, his father was actually taking an interest in him and preparing him for inheriting the Dukedom.
He’d spent a lot of time alone or with his cousin, the future Earl of Devon, Thomas Shuffield before he reached Eton where within days he’d become best friends with William Bridgerton.
William had everything that Edward had wanted in his family and often found himself jealous of the stories that William would tell him about his escapades with his cousins and siblings during their breaks from school and whilst he had heard a lot about William’s younger sister, he had never met her.
Over the last few years when he had stopped at My Cottage, Violet Bridgerton had often not been at My Cottage, having been either at Romney Hall or visiting her aunt and uncle at the parsonage but that fateful day, she had been home.
Edward had meant to spend the night at My Cottage as was custom before he would set off with William to collect Thomas on their return to the school but the weather had been bad and it had meant that he had to sleep on the road and arrived just after when the Bridgerton’s would break their fast.
He had sent a man ahead on horseback to let William and his parents know and he knew Mrs Bridgerton would worry about him if he was not there by the evening, when he arrived Mrs Bridgerton welcomed him at the doorstep and gave him a motherly hug and explained she’d prepared a bath for him if he wished to freshen up and eat before they departed.
He thanked her profusely, feeling awful from sleeping in the carriage and desperately hungry, so he made his way through the comfortable country home towards the guest room he would usually reside in and as he made his way onto the landing, thinking longingly of the hot water and Mrs Bridgerton’s cooks biscuits, there was a commotion and he heard the bark of the Bridgerton family dog Arthur and as a door opened he heard a girls voice “No Artie! Give that back!” and then the dog appeared with a rag in his mouth as he made a bid for freedom down the hall.
Edward chuckled and carried on walking only to find himself being crashed into not even two seconds later and he felt a cold wetness spill across his chest and as he looked down he saw a blur of blonde hair and the greenest eyes he had ever seen.
“Ooops! I am so sorry!!!” said the girl and all Edward could do was just stare, blinking like an idiot as his brain seemed to stall as he took in the girl.
“Vivi! Artie’s down the hall with your painting rag, if he gets in Dad’s stuff he’ll… well he’ll not murder you but he won’t be happy” came Will’s voice as he appeared around the corner “Lord, what happened to you Ed? Vivi you need to watch where you’re going”
“Right, yes sorry… I’ll go get Artie, sorry again” Vivi said to Edward before running off around the corner before his brain could mutter any words.
“It’s not a problem” he said half-stupidly as he looked at the space and just blinked.
Will just laughed and clapped him on the shoulder “sorry about Violet, she doesn’t look here she is going sometimes, especially when Artie is involved. Come here, I think i’ve got a spare waistcoat. Mrs C will get that cleaned up and send it down to us at school…”
Whatever else happened that afternoon Edward had no idea, it was all a blur as he swapped his waistcoat and put on one of his best friends, but he didn’t see Violet again as he was in the carriage within an hour but he was certain of one thing as he climbed into the carriage…
He was almost 99% sure he had just met the woman he wanted to marry…

Am I the a-hole for running away from home to avoid having to meet my relatives for Christmas?
I (12M) have never been able to smile naturally. I can force myself to with a bit of work, but it usually hurts a lot, so I'd rather not bother. Mom (40F) and Dad (38M) have always been understanding of that fact, as has my brother (12M), so normally it wouldn't be an issue. However, Mom comes from quite an esteemed family, which is accordingly very strict about our conduct. That I can't just plaster on a perfect, friendly face all the time, is a source of frustration for Mom's siblings, especially two of whom I will call Uncle G (42M) and Aunt K (45F).
The last time I saw them for Thanksgiving, G pulled me aside into the kitchen and threatened to carve my face up with the knives there if I didn't smile, because it was a celebration and we should be happy, and me not smiling brought down the mood. And then, when K caught me not smiling later (because I needed to rest my face), she threatened to pour boiling water on me so as to teach me a lesson about obeying elders.
I'm scared they'll actually go through with it for Christmas, because we were all supposed to stay in one big lodge together for a week, and I can't keep up a smile like that for such a long time. I never told Mom, Dad or my brother about it either, because according to our other uncle D (49M), who is the patriarch of the whole family and a super important politician so he's very wise, sibling relationships are really important. Telling Mom about it will make her argue with K and G, and maybe D as well, and it will ruin her relationship with all of them. And Dad and my brother would just tell Mom anyway.
So when I had just finished packing my bag, the night before we were to leave, a thought suddenly occurred to me. Everything I needed to survive the next few days was in the bag - my clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, water bottle, etc. I could just leave. I thought about Uncle G and Aunt K, and what they would do to me, and, in a moment of impulse, took my bag and left while everyone else was sleeping. I snuck onto a train and made my way to my best friend S's (11F) house. Her mother, Auntie C (older than Mom, F) let me stay at her house for as long as I needed, and offered to call CPS, but I told her not to because Mom's family is important enough that calling the cops on them would probably result in the caller getting arrested instead.
So, right now, I'm with S, we're both officially having our first sleepover (that could potentially last forever) and it's really fun! We had a movie night, and also got to play video games, and I even got to help them make traditional desserts for the solstice (which may or may not have devolved into S and I flinging flour at each other and having to clean the kitchen after that). I'm really thankful that I left and came here instead. But, my parents and brother have apparently been really worried - they even called Auntie C asking if she'd seen me, but I begged her not to tell them so she didn't. We haven't seen any missing child posters go up yet, though that's probably because my relatives don't want people knowing the family managed to lose a child and isn't quite so picture perfect.
I know I should be ashamed of myself for making my family panic so much, especially since I managed to overhear that my brother has been really depressed since I left, so much that he keeps refusing to eat. And I do feel guilty! But going back will just lead to me getting shuttled off to the lodge and getting punished even worse than before. It's selfish, but I don't want to go home. I'm happy here, I'm happy that I left, which is probably why I'm TA. It's been weighing on me, and while S insists I'm NTA, I think she's biased because spending time with friends is fun. So, if anyone out there might offer a more objective view of the situation - AITA?
UPDATE: Basically I still got found anyway, but Auntie C and a few other family friends convinced me to tell my parents about what happened last time. I did, and now Mom has cut all contact with her family. And also G and K are actually getting arrested! Good riddance - I just found out that they had been really harsh to my brother too, and he also didn't tell anyone for the same reason as me. I'm honestly starting to wonder if D's emphasis on siblings might have messed up our entire family a bit...

A different sort of man
part ii
Gif by @nofckingfighting
The witch scours through every book on magic she owns, and Thomas spends the time trying to see how different this Tommy’s life is from his.
The tattoo on his hand is different.
Instead of TGC, he sees an entwined E and T. Same monogram on the linens, tiles on the floors and carved on his own desk.
“You got it done on our first anniversary in 1921, we didn’t have Charlie yet.” The witch answers as she tossed another book into the stack and leafed through the next one. “Charlie was born in 1922, September to be exact. We eloped on June 1920 and a month ago we had a church wedding to cover up the Russian business and because our families ---mainly Polly and my aunts--- demanded we pretend to be good catholic people despite us being atheists.”
“How do you know about the Russians?” he tensed.
He didn’t confide in anyone save Polly, he couldn’t trust Grace even after three years. Too many lies, too many things ruined by her presence alone.
Even his family was distancing themselves from him because they can’t stand her.
“Because you tell me things, we are not just husband and wife, we are also business partners, have been since I told you Grace was the rat and told Campbell about Black Star Day.” She answered before muttering a curse, tossed the book and began searching through the couch cushions.
Lucky, lucky Thomas Shelby, this Tommy has a wife he can trust, with a good head on her shoulders and a spark of gypsy magic.
Something gnaws at him because he knows he cannot even begin to comprehend why he even sought Grace out in London in the first place.
“Should your stay last longer than it should, I am perfectly equipped to handle everything the other you has left pending. I act as your proxy when you aren’t available, if I do need you to make an appearance, I will brief you on it.” The witch runs a tight ship it seems.
“Mrs. Shelby, Mrs. Gray is here.” Mary, the same housekeeper he employes said with a little more warmth than her counterpart.
“Thank you, Mary. Please send her in, I am afraid it is rather urgent.” She thanked the housekeeper with a smile.
Grace was not an easy woman to please, demanded perfection, demanded that everyone knew their place and would never have even acknowledged Mary with a smile.
Where had this woman been all these years, he found himself asking.
“71 Watery Lane, with my daj, Ethel Smith.” She answered his unspoken question to his horror.
“You aren’t you.” Polly cuts to the chase as they meet in his office.
“No. Believe it or not, when I went to sleep my wife’s name was Eva, my son Charlie was five months older and I would have never sought out Grace Burgess for what she did to us six years ago.” Tommy explained to Polly, she was closer to the original one, but there was a coldness to their interactions.
He couldn’t blame her, Eva had told him that Grace believed Pol to have incestuous feelings toward him and assumed it was jealousy and not disgust because she saw her for who she was.
“If only that version of you had your sensibility, boy.” His aunt said with pity aimed at the man whose body he occupied.
This Thomas had a similar tattoo on his hand, except for the monogram Eva has on tiles and linens, there is a G for Grace, a C for Charles and a T for Thomas.
This man’s feelings were not strong enough to keep it just their initials, he had to add the baby that turned a fuck up into his life.
“Yeah, if only.” He found himself agreeing as he tossed the photograph of Grace into a drawer.
This house was a dark and gaudy shrine to her and him, he had not been surprised to know she had not curtailed his less than fashionable décor. Worse, Grace Burgess had enabled him.
Grace’s tastes seemed to exist within the confinements of her wardrobe and even that was questionable.
If Eva were here she would have burned the garish purple wedding dress with unabashed gusto, along with every portrait he commissioned.
He missed her, not even three hours apart from her and he wants to return to her and his much, much happier life.
“What do we know about Eva Smith, granddaughter of Ethel Smith at 71 Watery Lane?” he doesn’t hear the quiet gasp until Polly’s dark eyes zero in at the woman spying on them.
Fuck.
Fuck him, fuck her, fuck them all.
If Grace was just as he remembered, she will be calling the All Saints’ Hospital to throw him in there before the sun sets today.
As if he didn’t already have the Russians to deal with too.

May I introduce to you my headcanons for Duke and Danny
Let’s start with Danny cause he changed the most [kinda]
The Fentons are a mixed Filipino-Cuban family [Maddie-Jack] b/c I wanted to [I am not Filipino or Cuban so if I mess up somewhere please tell me!] Jazz, Danny and Maddie all grew up learning and speaking Tagalog
Maddie and Alicia are Filipino-American & 3rd gen immigrants, their family name is Palad
Alicia’s farm was something their aunt had owned then later left to Alicia since her kids didn’t want it
Jack’s mom Olivia nee Castro was Cuban and his dad Rupert Fenton was white [that’s the Fenton-Nightingale side]
Danny is transmasc and has been presenting as such for awhile now
As like a general assumption, the Fentons aren't Horrible vivisect their child kind of parents in most of my AUs, they just aren't perfect half the time
Now onto Duke!
Duke is Nigerian, with both Elaine and Gnomon being centuries old for the most part [depends on AU but before Europeans started their bullshit]
Duke speaks an old dialect of Hausa that Elaine and Gnomon had grown up with and one he grew speaking it along with English
His adopted Dad Doug Thomas is Black, and he has an Aunt and Uncle Tracy & Alvin Jackson who live and in Bludhaven
Duke’s cousin [who’s cannon] Jay Jackson is a decade or so older than Duke and his legal guardian after his parents couldn’t do so
Duke still lives with the Wayne’s sometimes [they were his foster family until Jay could get custody] just jumping between each
The We Are Robin gang are still together but no longer as a group of vigilantes but as friends
I call them The Flock and they each have their own bird nicknames, Izzy|Fieldfare, Riki|-Galerinda, Dax|Alaemon, Andre|Blackbird, Dracy-Joanna “DJ”|Sparrow
They had another member Troy|Warbler he died during the Robin Wars when he was trying to defuse a bomb, it was rigged to blow anyway
Danny does this thing where he just stares at Duke for prolonged periods of time
Duke thought he’d be bothered by it but he actually likes it alot, for Danny to just look at him like he’s his only light
Danny’s always had dysphoria around his body, especially after he started to become more ghostly
Duke always thought he was beautiful and would tell him as such, he loved to watch Danny blush like a fool at his words
I’ve always thought of Danny as a romantic, he’s the type of person to do anything for his partner
He thrives off of physical affection and word of affirmation
Duke is also kinda romantic but he finds it difficult to do physical things, when he truly loves a person he holds them alot, taking their hand, hugging them, things like that
He loves to get things from people he loves, and acts of service
These two are made for each other I swear

So I have made it through the first half of the month and wanted to give an update from when I mentioned I'd been having some troubles. It's been more mentally exhausting than anything by this point. I've been building up my Ko-fi portfolio mostly with nature photography I've taken (which I've also been sharing on my side blog because I've been unable to focus on drawing anything, but I hope to change that) but I keep hoping I'll get to more creative things eventually. That said, even if I haven't earned much, I appreciate all of the support I got when I first posted since even just getting a note or a bump made me feel not so alone in that moment.
That said, I am not out of the woods yet, but since I'm in a better state of mind, I feel I can finally explain some of the details.
So long story short, my grandmother has been in and out of the hospital four times since the end of June. On visit two, we honest to goodness thought we were going to lose her, but she's proven to be quite the fighter. Unfortunately, visit two proved that even if she was stabilized, she wasn't okay. So, knowing that she won't be coming home, we've been in and out of three different nursing facilities between each hospital visit. We think the third place we've ended up at is probably the level of care that she needs, so we'll probably go back there after this latest hospital visit, but that's partially why I haven't gotten much of anything done is staying with her (like my family has done shifts in making sure she's not alone so I've had several hospital sleepovers as well) has been stressful. And trying to raise money for her care while trying to keep enough for the monthly bills hasn't been helping, but like I said, we've gotten this far somehow. Which is almost a relief because even if I still don't get paid until September, I'm a lot closer than I was when struggling through July.
Buuuut that's been taking care of bills and food and gas going back and forth to the different locations (and basically moving each time since we had to clean out the rooms after thinking we were moving in.) The actual bill for her care hasn't come in, and while the hospital visits have allowed some miserable level of delay, I'm still waiting for the ball to drop.
To make matters worse, my family has been split between cities because while I've been taking care of my grandma, my older sister (who lives about an hour and half away) had been on watch since she was pregnant after having some complications with a previous child. Because of the complications, we knew when the baby was due since she'd have to do a C-section, and my aunt often tried to encourage my grandma to hold out long enough to see her great grandbaby arrive. The procedure went fine, but it seems our little girl is having complications after coming out, so she's been in the NICU. My parents have been trying to help between hospital visits, babysitting the other kids, food, gas, groceries, y'know. So they can help much on my end, but I haven't really been able to do much for them either. My dad got to come visit though, and I took a day to go see my sister since I thought we were settled but it's while I was away, I got the message about hospital run number four.
It's kind of weird I'm looking forward to going back to work just to get a break from my "vacation". But maybe getting to be with other people in a more lively space with some quiet time in those break periods will give me the motivation to try writing finally. So we'll see. School starts next week so wish me luck!

Aftershock Day 2 Recap:
Yesterday was incredibly awesome and incredibly hot. It was 95°F/35°C, and I definitely felt like I was dying at some points, but it was entirely worth it.
We started off the day by seeing Fire From The Gods. I don't know their music super well, but I've enjoyed everything I've heard. They were great live! The singer's microphone was cutting out through the first couple songs, but after they resolved that issue the show was great!!
Next up was Memphis May Fire. They were SO GOOD!! I am really sad that we only caught about half of their set, but we wanted to get close for The Hu. They were the first band of the day to have pyro, and in addition to the good music that was cool to watch! Some bands struggle live, but these dudes sounded even better than on recording!!
This was my second time seeing The Hu, and it was even better than the first. Last time they were on one of the small stages, but this time they were on the big stage with a huge crowd! The crowd was super into the show, and there was lots of chanting. The band has such a cool vibe. Their energy is amazing, and I'm grateful to have witnessed it again. On another note, I've never seen so many crowdsurfers get dropped 😭. Idk why people kept trying after seeing so many people go down 😭.
We hung back in the shade for Skillet's set. I love Skillet, but we were all so damn hot that we needed a breather. I sat in the shade and vibed. They were fun just like last time! Plus I got to hear Psycho In My Head for the first time! We did end up leaving their set early to head over to Bad Omens.
Bad Omens had a huge crowd by time we got over there. It was so stinking hot, but I was jumping as soon as the first song started. It was so much fun!!! They are incredible live. If you don't listen to this band yet, check them out!! It was funny when the band came out, because they were all wearing black hoodies and masks. The crowd was like "they're going to die if they try to keep that on" lol.
I'm not lying or exaggerating when I say that seeing Limp Bizkit live was a highlight of my life. Their set was so damn fun. The energy was so high. A very high percentage of the crowd had never seen them live before, so we were all keeping each other hyped through this shared experience. Words can't describe how much fun I had during Nookie lol. Also they started AND ended the set with Break Stuff. It was awesome! Fred Durst was dressed as a cowboy, and did some weird hip thrusting dances lol. At one point the crowd chanted "no", and he asked if we were calling him a hoe. He also requested that no one flash their boobs because he is "allergic".
Holy cow Godsmack did not disappoint!! This was my second time seeing them, and I had a blast. I was jumping and headbanging like crazy the entire set. My friend and I managed to get really good spots. We could see the stage, and we still had space to move around + jump! They always put on such a great show. I also got horns from an older metalhead, and that was super cool. At the beginning of a song, I screamed really loudly and started jumping. This older woman looked at me, smiled, and put up horns.
My brain is kind of mush. I am very tired, but incapable of sleeping in beyond 7:30 lol. I am having the best time despite the exhaustion and heat though!!! The first picture is my wristband + bracelets I was given. My aunt made the FOB one, and one of my friends made the Aftershock one. Both glow in the dark!!! The next two pictures are Limp Bizkit. When the band came onstage, they had "nu metal cowboy" on the screen, then Fred Durst came out wearing a cowboy outfit 💀. The last picture is from Godsmack's set.

Mari/Xiaodie Headcanons Part 3
Age
This is a category of its own.
Mari was 19 when she first landed in the Tang Dynasty and lost her memories. During the events of LMK, she was 21–22 as it took time for her to finish college while carefully planning to leave for China.
Because of the 14-year journey she went through, she's mentally in her early thirties. Time loops mixed with eating life-extending fruit are weird
My heart says that MK is 19, but my head says he's at least 20 (well, I guess he's 19 at heart even when he's well into adulthood). A storyboard artist sees Mei as 23, and I am apt to believe that Red Son is at the physical age of 24. I'm making this comparison because, it's truly a mystery on whether Mari is the second oldest or second youngest of the four because the journey is still something she experienced, albeit while in a coma.
It's like Narnia all over again when the adult Pevensie siblings get out of the closet and go back into their childhood bodies.
It gets even funnier when you consider that Red Son was physically and mentally younger than Mari/Xiaodie the last time she saw him (although Red was probably already biologically older than her regardless). Now, he's physically older than his aunt in the modern day.
Onstage
Mari has the voice of an angel. As Xiaodie, she has attracted demons and humans alike many a time with how enchanting she sounded much to Wukong's chagrin.
I think it'd be funny that Macaque and Mari both do well performing in front of crowds, but Sun Wukong does not.
Mari is used to performing in front of her large nuclear and extended family during events as well as singing in a choir at her school.
Past Wukong believed that there was a meaning to the songs she sang. There were no such meanings. Xiaodie was just regaining memories from singing. She sang "My Jolly Sailor Bold" often causing Wukong to get all huffy and jealous about his supposed "rival" whose name was William lmao.
Leaving Home
It was a difficult feat.
Mari left home without her phone, and therefore no GPS. She couldn't take it with her in order to prevent being tracked down. The layout of modern China differs greatly, so finding Flower Fruit Mountain was difficult.
On top of that, she gets caught in heavy rain hours after she took off from her balcony, rendering her wings too wet to fly. At the very least, she landed herself in a coastal area of China before she fell into the sea and relived her trauma of drowning.
8:00 AM, Mari is dead tired and wet, she finds shelter in a payphone and calls home to tell everyone that she's alright.
On a funnier side to this story, this is Mari's running away from home note.
Despair
There was a slight misunderstanding when Mari first heard about MK being a successor, and it caused Mari to lose courage in hoping to rekindle her relationship with Wukong for a bit.
She came to the conclusion that Wukong might have moved on from her and found someone else and then had MK. There's no way he would wait so long for her. She shouldn't have expected him to.
(Wrong! He did. He waited. Since she was born, Wukong would buy gifts for her on her birthday, thinking that "maybe this would be the year she comes back to me." Those gifts are still collecting dust on his mountain and in the Shame Temple.)
Mari cries in her hotel room that night. She considers going back to Singapore and apologizing to her family for leaving, making this trip a lost cause.
It takes a few days for her to get better, but then she hears something about a shame temple in the Monkey Village, which isn't too far away.
She decides that maybe she should go there, shed some light on the situation, and find out if Wukong found someone else. If he has moved on, Mari will accept forfeit and go back home.
And then the Lady Bone Demon sneaked up on her in the dead of night.
(Tbh, if it turns out Wukong and MK are related, I'm hoping that they're brothers. I don't mind Wukong acting like a dad, I just prefer MK and Wukong being bros. It's cuter imo.)
Marriage
I saw this tiktok of Wukong singing 'Get this Right,' a deleted song from Frozen 2, and I'm like this is how he would propose for the second time when they finally reunite after season 3:
Ahem, go on and guess what the picture below means for them:
Other Random Headcanons
Mari owns a 10-foot caterpillar plushie that she had since she was 7. It's a comfort item to her. During her time as a pilgrim, Xiaodie made herself a small stuffed caterpillar to prevent any more sleepless nights.
Along with not aging because she was in a two-week coma for the journey, Xiaodie's hair only grew an inch after chopping it off and her pink hair dye barely faded away.
In a situation where Xiaodie is angry, it's arguably scarier than Wukong's temper because there is hardly any solution for the problem other than waiting for time to pass until she has cooled off. Xiaodie generally knows how to tame Wukong's rampages, but she stubbornly sticks to whatever mood she's in.

my parents are FINALLY sending me to therapy
VENT!!
(mentions of su*c*dal thoughts and death)
i haven’t had someone to truly talk to since when my bsf/cousin died 2 years ago in a crash, and in that time life has really declined and no one in my life believes how i really feel when i tell them. they call me “over dramatic” and a “liar” so i really have no 1 to talk to. i’ve tried journaling and all that but nothing ever seems to work.
my breaking point was new years night. we were at a cousins and we (my mom, dad, older sister, and i) decided to just stay in a hotel for the night. my dad was drunk and my mom was obviously upset. we get to the hotel room and they just start to fight, my sister is having a panic attack and she’s spiraling, and it was just a lot.
my dads siblings finally realized that i’ve been through way too much for my age and shouldn’t have to be dealing with this, so my aunt is gonna start paying for my sessions.
(there’s more to the story, but i don’t wanna air out my information like that)
i’ve also had su*c*dal thoughts for god knows how long, and my cousin was the only one that really understood where they were coming from. he helped me deal with it, and i was definitely better then than i am now. i’m just hoping that therapy will help me out at least a little bit!

C, D, H. For both muses.
// Sorry, im gonna take these only for Igris ;P Fen is a tougher nut to crack
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically… I’m a disgusting person)
I am...not quite sure where to go with this but...Well, Igris'...release is quite warm, more than the average human. Unexpectadly, his diet is also well balanced, and he is in a very good physical and hormonal shape so....it tastes..pretty good?
He does enjoy tasting his partner's release a lot, feels like a reward for his effort, and he finds it usually tasty too.
He does not enjoy too much cum play in general otherwise, he doesnt super like seeing it stay on his partner's face or body , and he doesnt necessarily like it on his own either. It's fine for a few moments, but not to linger.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Ooooh boy.....Im not even sure what counts as dirty secret and when it crosses to fucked up...
And what even is a secret for him. Mmmnnnn.....Well, here goes nothing.
He has slept with his young Aunt. She is like...4-5 years older than him. And more than once. Quite often actually. They snuck around a lot for this.
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
Weell.....His head hair is in a very good shape. He takes good care of it, it will very rarely be messy. When he finds a quiet moment in a bath, he will always take his time to take care of them.
Body hair, Igris has a healthy amount for an adult man, but not too much. it's mostly on his chest and his forearms and little elsewhere. He takes care of his armpits a lot too.
And for the private places hair, he has them always very well trimmed and short. Not shaved, but always trimmed short. He has sexual interactions often, he makes sure he is attractive to his partners.

Hello dearest Caitlin, I hope married life is treating you well! The last chapter of PSOLC was perfection and I am rereading from the start with relish ( loved the 19th C footballer reference, and my brain went straight to Hufflepuff too- I think you added the strong Ravenclaw tendencies to Penelope too, possibly based on my drabble where the kids get Sorted!).
I was wondering if you had an idea of what Eliza and Edward Hotchner’s marriage was like. I see Edward as being a gaslighting, emotionally/mentally abusive at best. There’s an ep on the show, towards the middle of its run ( honestly, anywhere between 4 and 10 is possible!) when a wife is arrested for shooting/stabbing her husband in their bedroom, out of the blue. It transpires that the husband was belittling her, turned the kids against her ( « Mom is a useless piece of crap and Dad is always there for us and is 1mazing ») and while they are explaining things, the look Hotch has on his face and the questions he asks, his tone etc all make me think this is something he saw his mother experience. I think she was also physically abused by him too though. Aaron had 3 years after his mother died with that monster, my heart just breaks for him so much!
ahhhhh I'm so excited you're rereading!!!! it was really interesting to reread it while I did my edits. I hope you like the reboot!!
I have some extremely specific thoughts in mind about Edward and Eliza. Without delving into it too much (because it'll definitely come up in the fic) she met him when she was a freshman in college and he was older than her, and it was definitely a situation where she didn't realize how bad it was until she was in too deep. He was definitely abusive, and he isolated her from her friends and her family. Her baby was her whole world, she did her best to be a good mother to Aaron and keep him safe. But the three years between his mother dying and going to live with his aunt and uncle were horrible.
