Technicolor Ch. 1

Summary:

It had been five years since Sasuke Uchiha had fallen out of Sakura Haruno's orbit. Five years of college, of fighting with his family, of dreading existence. Five years of desperately running. But a random day she reaches out to him, and face to face with radiation green eyes and flooded with memories of unfinished kisses and cold winter nights, he finds himself caught again in her orbit.

It had been five years since Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha's relationship had crumbled at the direction of his father. It had been five years of spiraling, of isolating herself from everyone she cared about, of starving herself until she is nothing but skin and bone. Five years failing to find refuge in herself. But when she needs him, he comes to her, and she finds herself desperately wishing things had been different.

Or once upon a time Sasuke and Sakura were stupid kids who fell in love, let life tear them apart, and are fighting to maybe find each other in the future.

not to sound like a boomer, but I need some people to learn how to write emails in a semi-professional (at the very least) format so you're not cold emailing a business/potential employer/any other stranger about formal matters in the exact same way you'd DM a close friend on instagram

the formality/language can loosen up in the email chain once you've established a rapport and you match the other person if they're being less formal, but please don't have the very first email you send a stranger be written in all lowercase ultra-casual sms slang with no greeting or signature and a billion emojis

Really says something about the dire state of offerings for men interested in sewing their own clothes that even searching things like "interesting men's clothing patterns" brings up articles with links to four or five whole websites that primarily offer admittedly nice but practically identical patterns for making button-ups and work pants and maybe a varsity/bomber jacket if you're lucky.

(Branching out into historical costuming for everyday wear is like your one shot at variation, and even then, the ratio of men's to women's patterns on every website is frustrating to say the least.)

Patternmakers as a trans man I am begging you. Give me a little more to work with here.

“I’m sorry, could I borrow one of your cigarettes? I emptied my pack on the way here.” He noticed the small dimples peeking out from her cheeks and before he had time to think about it, he was obliging her. He gave her a cigarette and the green lighter he always carried with him. She fumbled trying to light the tobacco while one of her hands still held her coffee. The better mannered part of him thought he should offer to hold it for her, but he frowned at the idea. Soon she handed the BIC back to the boy and mumbled her thanks. Grey clouds puffed out of her pink, pink lips, and she fell into silence.

There was something awkward stirring in Sasuke’s blood, causing his heart to thump a bit faster and his palms to sweat. He glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. Amethyst hair and vivid green eyes. A green he had never seen another human being have before. They were leaf bright, elven eyes, comic book radiation seeped from them and incapacitated him.

He sighed.

Even though she was silent, she was almost as annoying as Naruto was.

Sasuke didn’t like colors. He was a boy who appreciated the normal girl. Medium height, medium build, nondescript. Maybe ordinary brown eyes that didn’t make a big fuss about themselves. He liked plain, he liked normal. Plain faces, simple eyes. That’s what he always thought was beautiful. He had only ever wanted a normal girl, there was already too much special in his family and he wanted no more of it. No more special, no more exotic, nothing remarkable. He was plain and boring. He wanted plain and boring.

But there she was, standing there quietly, not even trying to interact with him, and he couldn’t help but glance at her. Sakura was some sort of pixie creature with wild amethyst hair, elven green eyes, and slender hands that looked so wrong holding a cigarette. She was brilliant, bright, luminescent. She was remarkable.

Sentient Mystery Shack, who is really biased towards Stan, so when Ford tells Stan he has to give it back after the summer it’s on sight.

Ford keeps tripping over nothing, nothing is where it's supposed to be and somehow he keeps running into closets when he tries to go outside.

But the worst part, the WORST part is that Ford's lightbulb just won't. Work. No matter what he does it keeps flickering and exploding.

Ford is spiraling. 

There is no reason why it shoudln’t work. All his trial runs work perfectly. He’s already checked the Shacks wiring three times and relearned this dimensions science from the ground up. 

Nothing works.

The Rift? Bill? The impending apocalypse? Eating? Sleep? Who cares about that. 

WHY. WONT. THE. LIGHTBULB. WORK???

It doesn’t help that Stan keeps laughing at him.

“Then you do it!” Ford eventually snaps at Stan.

Stan shrugs and with a little song under his breath screws his own lightbulb in. It works perfectly.

Stanford screams.

Ten and Donna end up on a fucked up deadly space newlyweds show despite uh. Not being newlyweds but they get almost all the questions right. They start to sweat when the final question is "what's one secret desire you have involving the other?" And Donna writes "sometimes I wish I could occasionally shrink down the doctor real small so I could carry him around in my pocket and make sure he doesn't get lost' while Ten writes "sometimes I wish I was small enough that Donna could carry me around in like a cat backpack or maybe a shirt pocket" and they look at each other like AYYYYYY because not only are they deeply drift compatible they're also fuckin weird about it 💖

I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them

People who are used to aloof Vulcans who avoid Humans at all cost running into one comforting a Human
