Hello and welcome to Day 13 of "Let's Explore My Plot Bunnies"

I have been a bit under the weather so this is a bit later than I would have liked to post but oh well...

As I said in yesterday's post, today I will talk about another My Hero Academia System AU, but this time, Izuku is unlucky to be actually trapped (alongside other people - OCs mostly) into a System that gives them a series of tests with the very real possibility of them dying during said tests.

This idea is heavily inspired by the novel (and manhwa) "Global Examination" - which I urge you to check out cause it is awesome.

The title for this fic is: System 16-564-53

(The title is kinda important for the story so if you wanna, try deciphering it)

In this AU, Izuku never went to U.A, thus never becoming a hero nor getting All Might's Quirk - which means Mirio got One for All.

Izuku instead continued his life, getting into college after going into military service for a year or so. While in college, Izuku gets a sketchy email about him being selected as a participant in a contest, which he ignores. At least up until Izuku wakes up in the middle of nowhere (together with 9 more strangers) where System 16-564-53 tells them they are in a series of tests where their lives will be at stake.

Of course, one of the people there doesn't believe an iota of what it was said by the System, which prompted it to kill the "nuisance" as a warning for the other "players".

And so, Izuku finds himself in a position where his insecurities need to be left aside so that he can get out of here alive - and, hopefully, he can help the others survive too.

Unbeknownst to Izuku, the System is actually a part of All For One - one of the many Quirks he stole - which has its own hidden agenda with the tests. One thing is for sure, however, this is CLEARLY not the first time such tests have happened.

Some details:

Most of the people Izuku interacts with in the System are OCs. But there will be mentions of some other characters from the series.

Izuku is badass and has so much knowledge that comes in handy here.

Because Izuku is badass, most of the other "players" actually fall for him. I actually have an OC that I literally called "Simp" in my notes. His name is Yutō and he is my baby.

I actually have an Alternate AU where Hero!Izuku from Canon meets Yutō from the canon dimension, and they fall in love there, too.

Numbers and how things are worded play a very important role here.

All For One is the cause of everything and Izuku, in any universe, still ends up fighting against him. (Poor guy, even in an alternate universe, he can't take a break)

I mostly wanted my hand to guide me into practicing drawing odd angles like this, where the head appears closer to the viewer then legs/lower body. Almost like forced perspective? But I didn’t use any reference images…so you let me know if this works or looks wonky lmao

Soooo, since the Avatar AU fanfic is quite fresh in my head, you can imagine I was pleasantly surprised about this character template...

....Wait, getting ahead of myself - let me start again.

So I bought the pen and paper starting kit for the Avatar universe, 'cause I finally want to start a p&p session and the Avatar-verse was always appealing to me..

And as per usual, there are some premade character sheets to play with, and look who I found...like this is extra interesting..the outfit, the figure, the face, the LOOK!!!

Now all I need to do is trick my party to play ANYONE except him, so that I can put him into the story as an NPC.. and then I can do whatever I want with himwhosaidthat...

So yeah, he already has a certain profile including a name, but I already forgot it. I deleted it from my memory the second I saw him.

There is only one name fitting for my man and we all know it.

I just finished my rewatch of AOT and one thing I noticed is how different Connie is after Sasha died (or just Season 4 in general)

We know him to be an idiot and a joker even in serious situations, like in Season 3 where he made a joke even though the rest of the Survey Corps was literally dead (honestly he was so real for that. I, too, use humour to cope lmao) and then Sasha hit his head as a result.

Obviously, all of the younger main characters had drastic character development after Season 3 and it makes sense because of what they've been through. For example, Armin spoke up more and wasn't as timid as he used to be. Jean's leadership skills really showed itself in Season 4 and he became less of an asshole.

So yeah, they all changed quite a bit, but in my opinion, Connie changed more obviously because it sort of went in a "negative" direction. Him changing is not bad but because he became a little more aggressive (something we don't really see in S1 - S3) and he lost most of his joking nature (something we DO see in S1 - S3), it was more noticeable to me.

He became more angry or defensive in certain situations and he kind of lost his joking nature after Sasha died. It's not a bad thing at all BUT this just shows us how much Sasha meant to him and how much of an impact she had in his life, just as he did in hers. He really meant it when he said they were like twins and that she was his other half that died. The only joke I remember him making and the only time he ever laughed throughout the entirety of Season 4 is when Annie was stuffing her face with pie and that's it. Here are 2 examples of when Connie got really aggressive that, for me, felt out of character for him compared to Season 1 - 3:

When Onyonkapon released them from their cell and Connie's first response was to choke him against the wall and shout at him. It doesn't ONLY have to do with Sasha's death, but I feel like if Sasha were here, he wouldn't react as aggressively

Same here where he demanded that they feed Falco to his mom and even went as far as kidnapping him. If Armin and Gabi hadn't shown up the next day, there would be a higher chance that Connie would've made his mother the Jaw Titan. Even when they were camping in the forest, Connie started talking to himself, saying that he misses Sasha

I'm not entirely sure about the reason behind Connie's character development, but Sasha was definitely a huge part of it. Even if he didn't become angrier because of her death, it was definitely that that made him joke around a lot less and made him become more serious

Okay so Oda showing this lady in the Cross Guild crowd in one of the latest chapters was so funny though

Because like, back when Cross Guild was introduced when Buggy was showing off Crocodile and Mihawk to his crew there were speechbubbles of people going "Kyaaa~❤️" and just fawning over the two. Now knowing Oda, the implication was that there were some women in the crowd going wild, he just didn't show them to us.

So when Toei was adapting the episode, instead of getting some women to shout "Kyaaa~❤️" at Croc&Hawk and maybe showing some shots of them, or hell, getting the male VAs to go "Kyaaa~❤️" for the two, what did Toei do?

Dudes shouting as usual, but hysterically, Toei added Galdino in there just straight up simping for Crocodile

Now of course, if they're going out of their way to haul his VA to voice like two lines for the episode then why not add one more line, that's fine

But it's still hysterical considdering Galdino isn't actually loyal to Crocodile at all. Crocodile tried to have him assassinated and then proceeded to mummify him and fed him to his gators. When the two finally ran into each other in Impel Down, Galdino's reaction was that of fear and horror

Galdino sucking up to Croc when he arrived isn't because he's genuinely happy to work for the man who damn nearly had him killed, he's kissing Crocodile's ass to save his own

Like I'm not saying Oda drew women in the crowd as a response to Toei having Galdino simp for Croc, but it's still funny to see and have a confirmation that yes, there are women amongst Buggy's henchmen who are down bad horrendous for Croc and Hawk (though maybe not quite as bad as for Buggy himself lmao)
