I'm playing Three Houses again. I forgot how BAD some of the characters outfit colors are. Dedue and Caspar have all-brown clothes (even the armor????) Lysithea's colors look really bad, makes me wish her CYL gremory dress was canon. Leonie, Lorenz and Ingrid's mounts don't match the color of their clothes, it's just looks off

Yeah the default outfit colors if you’re not in the proper class tend to suck. Gremory Flayn bugs me the most personally, just give her a black version of the dress she already doesn’t get a timeskip outift

This is why I usually just have cutscene outfits stay on but that’s not possible if you make someone mounted and also can we TALK about how weird Ingrid’s thing is like she’s clearly geared to being a Pegasus knight but in both this and Three Hopes you gotta stick her in Paladin in the middle

Anyway point being: the generic uniforms in Three Houses are fucking dripless and it is tragic

So you've heard about the DC Absolute Universe and you're wondering what it is all about.

While details about Absolute DC is still coming out, I decided it might be useful to make a breakdown of what we know so far (mostly from SDCC).

DC Absolute Universe Breakdown:

The Absolute universe is a new alternate universe influenced by Darkseid energy. It is a 'darker' universe where all the heroes have lost something key to their Earth 0 selves which leaves them as underdogs. While separate to the main universe it will link in through the events of the All In initiative. There doesn't seem to be many superhero teams yet, but a lot of iconic heroes have had their own solo series' announced:

Absolute Batman (By Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta):

The series brave enough to ask...what if Batman was an absolute unit. This is a Batman with no money and no status as the Prince of Gotham. Instead he is a construction worker and city engineer who has turned himself and his costume into an absolute weapon. He has an adorable French Bulldog and is also apparently blonde.

This Bruce Wayne never had a butler but there still is an Alfred in the Absolute Universe: Alfred "Penny", the grizzled and tired MI-6 spy. They seemingly meet for the first time when Bruce has already began his caped crusade against crime (and the series' confirmed big bad Black Mask)

Bonus: The Jim Lee variant cover gives us a better look at his costume's armoured texture and one of his weapons. He's seemingly more of a heavy hitter than the Batman we know.

Absolute Wonder Woman (By Kelley Thompson and Hayden Sherman):

This Wonder Woman was raised not in Paradise Island but rather in The Underworld. She has no sisters and no quest for peace. Instead she is the last of the Amazons who becomes a warrior and a witch, and eventually the Absolute Universe's first superhero. She is more heavily armed, carries a massive sword, and flies around on a skeletal pegasus made of iron.

Unlike her Earth counterpart who is notable for not wearing a mask, this Wonder Woman seemingly has two, including a rather demonic looking helmet. Also, her colour scheme is based less on the American flag and more on the idea of lava under rocks.

She also has a Jim Lee variant cover which suggests she also will have a lasso.

Absolute Superman (By Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval):

Superman is the member of the trinity we know the least about. He is supposed to be more alien (suggested by his glowing red arms and the fact the cape seems to be made of pure energy) and according to the solicitation is "Without the fortress... without the family... without a home" but honestly we don't know much more.

Absolute Green Lantern (By Al Ewing and Jahnoy Linsday)

Absolute Green Lantern is a "first contact" story and "reimagining" of the Green Lantern mythos featuring Jo Mullein, Hal Jordan, and John Stewart. We have some cool concept art of it including a redesign of Jo that suggests the lanterns might be in civilian clothing illuminated green.

Absolute Flash (By Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles)

This is the book we know the least about. All we really can infer apart from the creative team is that the Flash is presumably Wally West and that he appears to be more tortured character than in most other iterations.

I Get A Feeling That I Never Had Before by @darkimpala1897 (Clegan+Hambone) 978 words, so it's short but sweet! Funny and original and creative, and like, of COURSE this is how Buck discovers his feelings for Bucky & Ham.

Learning Curve by @hogans-heroes Clegan through the perspective of Alex Jefferson, explores his friendships with Buck and Bucky, and his observations of them from an outside view! Really heartbreaking and sweet and touching, such a great writing style.

Pegasus by merle_p (Rosie/Bucky) Egan is an absolute horny menace and a terrible authority figure sometimes lmao, and this fic gets it! Loved the characterization in this one. And the ending is just <3

Render Me a Wreck by @almost-a-class-act (Brady/Bucky) you guysssss you GUYSSSSSSS you KNOW I love me a Brady fic and holy shit this one is IT! this one is IT!!!! absolute masterpiece that comes roaring out of the gate and never lets up. a must-read!

save yours, and take mine from me by @corrosivesaints (Brady/Bucky) another Brady fic and I loveeeeee it!!! this author absolutely nails Brady's prickly little personality and the mutual trust and attraction between him and Bucky. and not just trust to not turn each other in, trust as in knowing they need to keep each other ALIVE. which is basically love. as the author said, "guys who are not normal about each other and never will be" <3

I have this headcanon that Nesta’s pegasus** DOES NOT like Cassian. Her pegasus is definitely a black stallion and super aggressive with Fae men, but absolutely adores Nesta and her friends. He’ll allow mane braiding, petting, spoiling with apples and sugar cubes, etc. He’s an absolute sweetheart with the Valkyries, Priestesses, Nyx, and the Archeron sisters.

But Cassian? No, sir. The Pegasus will not let Cassian *breathe* safely. Lots of growling and snorting whenever Cassian is within ten feet. He WILL bite if Cassian attempts to stroke his mane. Even the delicious sugar cubes won’t help Cassian; the Pegasus simply glowers disdainfully and ignores until someone else offers the treat. Cassian is very sad about this.

Nesta does not improve matters by being EXTRA affectionate toward her Pegasus whenever Cassian is around. Or by going on long flights without Cassian whenever Nesta wants alone time. Or by saying things like “you’re my favorite black-haired winged-creature to ride.” This last one is Cassian’s breaking point; he storms out of training while Gwyn, Azriel, and Emerie collapse with laughter. Cassian is especially bitter that the Pegasus has warmed up to Azriel, so he can’t even pretend that the Pegasus has a problem with Illyrians. To rub salt in the wound, Gwyn’s Pegasus *loves* Az (shadow-petting is extremely useful when Gwyn is busy).

Things do change eventually. There’s some battle or conflict (idk just imagine something bloody). And of course Cassian, the overprotective brute, sees a sneak attack from behind and lunges to protect his mate mid-air. The attacker plummets and dies in a very painful manner.

After watching Cassian’s actions, the Pegasus decides that perhaps Cassian deserves Some Rights after all. He still won’t allow prolonged petting or Cassian to sit on him (in his defense, do you want a large Illyrian brute to sit on you? Don’t answer that). But the Pegasus will allow occasional pets and sugary tweets.

Nesta has been publicly amused by this saga for a while but also secretly worried that her two males can’t get along. So the new peace is a big relief to her. She also doesn’t *want* to always fly without company. Alone time is nice, but do you know what’s nicer? Racing with Cassian to see who can reach their destination faster. Nesta loves flying with her two favorite males.

(However, Nesta still maintains that Cassian is her *second* favorite black-haired winged-creature to ride. The man’s ego is dangerous if left unchecked)

** The Pegasus colors are inspired by this amazing artwork that lives rent-free in my brain. I’m sure that Nesta is black, Gwyn is white, and Emerie is brown/gold. Not sure about the genders of the other Pegasus — I think Gwyn has a mare but I’m unsure about Emerie.

She'll do anything to keep your love on her while masquerading as your lover.

Eventually she doesn't just love you for the magic, she loves you because she's addicted to you.

Then there's King Sombra... something completely different.

As you can tell his way of obsession clashes with Queen Chrysalis.

He's a pony made into shadow, a unicorn king who controls ponies through fear.

He is controlling of you through his magic and likes to make you fear him more than love him willingly.

He is the opposite of Queen Chrysalis' plan of being subtle.

How is she supposed to feed off your love if King Sombra keeps controlling you with fear to keep you to himself?

This is what makes them fight as they are both quite possessive.

They could never share as they conflict too much.

They are both manipulative and possessive, a dangerous combo when they are in a rivalry.

Queen Chrysalis no doubt tries to make you trust her more.

Are you scared of the umbral king? That's okay...

Still under the disguise of your lover she pulls you in closer, hiding you away while she feasts on your love.

Meanwhile King Sombra does whatever he can to expose Queen Chrysalis.

Scared of him? Well... you should be more scared of your lover.

They're using you... that's not even their true self.

Somehow Sombra would knock Chrysalis out of her disguise to make you run back to him.

There's no winning this scenario for you.

You don't want to pick either of them but they aren't going to give you a choice.

Eventually either Sombra will materialize and take you away or Chrysalis will send changelings to drag you back to her home.

They no doubt would fight often.

Queen Chrysalis has the advantage in numbers but King Sombra has powerful magic.

They both watch you quietly before finding time to strike.

Even if one acts first, the other will storm them soon after.

Queen Chrysalis is nearly losing it as King Sombra ruined her plan.

They both can use magic to control you but they're constantly countering each other's magic.

You're dragged between the two villains with no possible means of escape.

You can only hope the Princess of Friendship helps you...

Surely she can get rid of them and save you, right?

Hello, I adore your work, I was wondering in this world does any other form of transportation exist such as locomotives 🚂 (I’m an avid Railway/rail fan enthusiast and considering there were races between horses and the earliest locomotives, with horses and other four legged critters helping building the lines before being replaced) I feel like these “iron horses” wouldn’t exactly be much of a threat.

That's so cool. Trains are so cool. I seriously wish we had more of them here in America - both historical trains and tracks but also highspeed rail. I will die and go to heaven of happiness the moment I can take a reliable train to a destination other than the metrodome on a Twins game day sob.

The old west history of trains is fascinating and a little tragic, but yeah you're correct about the SC world. Due to the chasms, trains aren't really that viable for cross-country travel and shipping of goods. Here's a quick rail line theoretical -

The main cities are circled in purple -

West/North/South Rook and Southcut are a farming and nymbak center due to the relatively large swaths of unbroken land and the river.

Denavi and Oakridge are known for their timber (and Denavi for lightning fish products).

Woodloch and Vale have universities.

Slipshod and Carver Canyon Falls are known for their mining, and the area north of Carver Canyon is another bread basket.

Almost all the space in between is free-range farm, timber, and livestock land.

I've drawn potential rail lines between them and you can see all of, uh, the problems lol. If there would be a maintained line, it'd be in the middle of the farmland north of the Rooks to transport grains southward to the Rooks, but people are so accustomed to skimmers (flying pegasi pulling wheeled carts on the ground) and shortwings pulling carts along paved roads, it'd be hard to convince them to put in rail lines. The people of SC are used to using what's in their local area to make a good living for themselves, supplemented with goods and knowhow brought in by pilots and trade routes supported by bridge and cable cars.

Eventually I want to make a map that includes bridges and cable cars because that might switch this up a bit, but first I gotta finish the book :)

But yeah, the pegasus is the main mode of transportation in the SC world, and other than footpaths there aren't really any others that get close to the popularity and efficiency of pegasus-centered methods.

You didn't specify a guild this time, so there's a world of possibilities. If you're not an independent mage, maybe you're from Blue Pegasus or Lamia Scale or Mermaid Heel, or even Quatro Cerberus if we want to make things funny. Regardless, you're probably on the stronger end of the wizards there.

...So you were probably the forward one in starting the relationship. Sometimes you think it might've been easier going for one of the more bombastic ones; definitely needed level 90 speech and charisma to pull this one off.

Of course, once conversation started to come easier between you two, you hit it off well. Rogue is easily in touch with his feminine side and doesn't get insecure very easily, he loves adorable things (like Frosch) and is more of a listener than a speaker. He's kind of an ideal boyfriend when you get right down to it.

His ability to sink into the shadows and pull anyone he likes with him means that it's never very difficult to get away from crowds or other hassles, nor difficult to find privacy.

Rogue is great for de-stressing from long or difficult days. You can hang off of him if you need to be held, or if you want solitude, you have it. He will always be able to figure out which brand of chocolate you're after when some fool has pissed you off one too many times that day.

The pregnancy was guaranteed to have been planned. Not only because Rogue is too cautious in general to have passed on a condom, but is also highkey very concerned about the effects on a child that could be had by his hybridized genes and dragonized cells. So that means your relationship was probably at least a few years long. Congrats on bagging the one!

You don't get this far without Rogue being willing to step up. The wedding is very small and quiet, and you end up wearing a pendant with jetblack dragon scales dangling from it.

God he looked great in a suit, though.

Do you do each other's hair? Of course.

Sex with Rogue is kind of like making love with a shadow. He's unusually hairless and smooth and he always seems to be able to move around and wiggle into the right positions almost like he's barely moving.

It's typically very slow, both for fear of hurting you and because that's just how Rogue does sex. You can, with some prodding, get him to go harder--but almost never faster.

He loves the little details. He loves listening to your heartbeat, he loves running fingers through your hair, he loves little marks and identifying features and leaving some of his own.

Sex that is already very gentle becomes even moreso when there's a bun in the oven, 'cause he's so against anything that might damage the bun or the oven. It's almost like a religious experience, it's slow and easy and attentive and wow he's good at using his fingers--

to be honest, i could see him as both because sometimes he wants to be babied and cuddled to sleep but on the other hand, he’d be all generous and clingy that he tends to spoon you out of nowhere. but to imagine it in detail, here’s a headcanon for that. 

big spoon. 

seungmin is not clingy, but to think of it, he wants cuddles when he’s in the mood. 

he would wrap his arms around you when your back is facing him and bury his face in the crook of your neck, leaving kisses. it always happens when you two are in the comfort of your bed after an exhausting day. 

if he sees you cooking in the kitchen when he comes home from practice, expect a pair of strong arms around your waist, kissing you on the cheek. it is a way of saying “i’m home.” 

it could be like sitting on the couch as you watch a movie with his arms around you while rubbing circles on your stomach. you’d be sitting between his legs with your back leaning on his chest. 

or when you’re upset over something, he’d come up for a back hug and ask what was wrong while kissing your shoulder, squeezing your arms for comfort. maybe it would happen when he decides to surprise you at work, laughing at your priceless reaction. 

he’d sing you a lullaby or one of his songs while caressing your hair as his other arm wrapped around you when you can’t fall asleep. 

seungmin is not fond of skinship but when he does, it is the most comforting thing in the world. 

small spoon

being the puppy he is, you couldn’t deny he’s adorable and he will ask for cuddles because, of course, he deserves it. 

he would sneak between your arms when he finds you reading on your bed. your agenda is suddenly interrupted by a golden retriever but you don’t mind. instead, you are always willing to cuddle him. 

seungmin would lay his head on your chest as he listens to the calm heartbeat which helps him fall asleep. or when he lays on your lap and reached out for your hand to play with his hair. 

he doesn’t need to say anything when all the cuddles came from you. 

and just like him, you’d walk over to the kitchen when he’s cooking just to wrap your arms around his waist, feeling the broadness of his back and shoulders. you love his body frame. it is like he is perfectly made to be the one you love to cling onto. 

“it’s good,” he’d mumble when he gets comfortable being inside your arms while you run your fingers through his brown sugar hair. 

and he never forgets to say “i love you” whenever he is thankful.
