Of course. I’ve heard from both singlets (people who aren’t systems) and systems both for and against the idea of Killer having DID/OSDD1/being a system/being plural, and as im not a system, im not gonna comment on or control how systems choose to interpret or headcanon Killer.

But I am of the belief that misinformation should avoid being spread—both of Killer’s canon (not only purely on the basis of not being true, but because if people start believing Killer is canonically a system/has DID/OSDD1 and also is a literal serial killer, that has an understandably bad rep but it may cause people to harass or spread rumors about rahafwabas that aren’t true), and of already misunderstood stigmatized disorders. It also has fantasy themes such as magic, souls, monsters, time travel, Resetting, coming back from the dead multiple times, etc.

Killer is a character involved in themes of heavy abuse (captivity, high control groups, kidnapping, labor trafficking, cult elements, organized crime, etc) and these are all elements that require nuance and care in depicting seriously and respectively—which can be hard to do while also having to keep in mind stigma surrounding the idea of “murderous” or “evil” alter(s)—because these types of abusive controlling environments very often require victims to partake in illegal or harmful acts and behaviors to survive. And this can also very easily to maladaptive coping mechanisms that aren’t easily understood or pretty.

So im of the opinion that if people want to write killer as if he is plural/system and aren’t one themselves, they should both do research and speak to any plurals/systems willing to help them out—and in the actual writing, avoid using terms associated with the actual disorders such as DID, OSDD1, alter, host, persecutor, etc.

Not only because 1. killer was an adult when the trauma and abuse happened, so therefore he’s unlikely to be professionally diagnosed with those disorders even if he shows symptoms and presentations similar to them, and 2. killer himself wouldn’t know what he has and wouldn’t use those terms in relation to himself and his experiences.

He is not in any position to seek diagnosis or treatment or support —under Nightmare and with Chara, he is surviving. He may have a chance of that with Color and the Chromatic Crew in the Omega Timeline, but again—unless this is deliberately an AU where all this trauma happened and stuff when he was an actual child—he likely wouldn’t be diagnosed with it.

So instead it’d be best to focus on his lived experiences regardless of what dissociative disorder one decides to write him with—and use the terms he applies to himself or ones he may apply to himself, such as his numbered hierarchical understanding of his SOUL and its Stages (either something he came up with to make sense of his own experiences, or something that was decided for him by external forces such as Chara or Nightmare.) and perhaps use words like “my stage(s),” “my other,” “my other half,” “when I’m like that,” etc.

And if the topic of Killer having DID ever comes up in the story, such as another character asking him or another Stage if he has it, dont feel the need to confirm it. Not only because Killer himself likely wouldn’t know, but also because he likely doesn’t exactly fit the full criteria for a diagnosis in a canon adjacent story where he was an adult when it all happened.

Of course that’s my opinion, not really important in the grand scheme of things—im not a system—but there it is. Systems, as always, can add and chime in as they wish—and correct any misinformation or misunderstanding if they want.

hello !!!!!!!!! im back on the grid again and with a bang, here to deliver a comic ive been working on since september ! its gonna be pretty messy, inconsistent, and just purely me having fun . therell be a lot of things ive thought through thoroughly, and therell be some things i forgot to even existed ! all in all this is a comic about a character whos been gone for a year and one that doesnt even exist, so its all built from me being silly

there will be sensitive topics discussed or depicted ! those will have a warning placed beforehand for each update, even though many of these things are meant to be up to interpretation or implied . some anecdotes ive written have been quite heavy though, so if i end up finishing them, listen to the content warnings

this will be a non-linear story, so instead of chapters i have named them anecdotes . they will be moreso bits and pieces of my o!quackity and o!wilbur's lives, specifically of them together, so some parts will be before or after others . some parts will reference each other, or foreshadow, but u likely wont need to read the anecdotes in any specific order

^ and so, because of this, the dynamics of wwtc&s!tntduo will change and will be inconsistent, just as what happens with real people if u look into random pockets of their life . some anecdotes theyll be more comfortable with each other, some theyll be more spiteful, some theyll be more awkward, etc. especially since oquackity has no character and owilbur is underdeveloped

this comic is a lot about change but also keeping familiarity in said change, which is totally not just an excuse for my inconsistent ass nope nuh-nuh. this time its actually relevant to the characters !!!!

and YEAH . i am doing all this just bc cc!quackity mentioned in the 2021 wine stream that he was in the originssmp discord and wanted to actually play but never did . im still mad abt it so ive decided to just make shit up now 👍

people who identify strongly by their personal perception of their own political beliefs have a knee jerk angry reaction to learning that people with other beliefs enjoy the same things as them. its why certain misogynistic rock fans dedicate their online existence to shitting on babymetal or whatever. its why any tumblrina has ever made a post about liking something in a way that is inherently more clever or thoughtful or deep than any other fan does (bc theyre smarter than Those Fans and not like Those Fans and tbh Those Fans are Not Real Fans)

of course a person can support the republican party while also working for ao3? there are republicans who consider themselves lgbt allies. there are gay republicans. there are gay people who are white supremacists and antisemites and transmisogynists and xenophobes. there are people who masturbate privately to the fantasy of trans bodies qnd its alluring specifically BECAUSE of how publicly they devalue and despise trans lives.

when you learn that you enjoy something thats also enjoyed by bigots, the response shouldnt be to defend yourself, or launch into no-true-scottsman bullshit, or to forcibly distance yourself from those bigots. the appropriate response is to return to the source material and ask yourself why it might attract bigots. ask yourself whether you noticed those themes the first time. (its maybe more obviously true that a fanfiction archive accessible to anyone will have a lot of highly offensive shit, sure, but this is true for any movie, book, or tv show you enjoy.) ask yourself this: if watching a tv show with gay characters ISNT enough to make a person an ally, what am i doing that makes myself at all different from those people?

you will struggle find a fandom or media property or piece of art that is one hundred percent pure and untouched by cruelty or hate. because everything and everyone is the product of the world they come from. make personal judgements and pay attention to the underlying intent and messages of the media yiu internalize and share with others. i dont remember what this post was about. maybe im just a super salty person bc its 5am and im Still not sleepingn and Still thinking about it but i cant help but feel that qtubbo fans are some of the most hypocritial people ive ever seen. this is like. full of generalizations and just observations ive made as a crow and im. typically defensive and salty so im gonna try to be objective but at the very least im not trying to neg on the characters or the ccs, since im directing this towards the fans. its also like a solid two months of build up .so. oops?

but uh. how to start explaining this. well for one im taking this as a recent fan who is a phil watcher pretty much only. but i tend to chronically read posts about other characters since when im into things i like to be informed on all cases (idk constant instinct i have lol). like i said im gonna focus on qtubbo here, if i go into qphil stuff its purely as a comparison point. i cant speak much on interactions with other fanbases since i simply am Not informed enough but yknow.

for one, i think both tubbo and phil ahve similar things when remembering lore that is Not their own. not a neg on either one, since i dont expect them to remember it, but both have forgotten major stuff recently, ie. fred's kidnapping (phil) and the birdhouse (tubbo). both things happened before purgatoryand the subsequent forgetting happened after so even in character it makes sense (they had more to worry about), but i also think reactions in character tends to fuck with audience perception. ie, tubbos very visceral reaction to the ill timed fred joke phil had made (and it was ill timed, and thats all that i feel was criminal about it. tubbo and phils friendship is very much based on banter and friendly barbs, lots of teasing from either side. phil simply shot back on a smilar level as tubbo had originally, making his joke about "phil and who?". other people have spoken on that so im not gonna rehash about whos comment was worse, since imo they were both just shy of being insensitive, had tubbo not been dealing with freds presumed death at the time. im not gonna talk about the funeral, becasue if i do i'll get mad.). likewise, when tubbo forgot birdhouse phils reaction was much less outwards. he just said a birdhouse wouldnt be slaying- given the imprisionment he had, it makes sense that phil would associate it negatively, especially since it catalzyed all of his future derealization episodes. both of these are simply ooc things imo, from their original standpoint. i dont think either is in the wrong for forgetting. but what annoys me is the fandom perception.

this is a problem im going to link back heavily to purgatory. im not sure if it was present beforehand, as i only really got into qsmp the last two-three weeks in october (bad timing) and had only really been watching vods in order to catch up. that being said, i think the bolas and soulfire rivalry had widened the gap between the fans, which in turn affects negative perception. later weeks in november had full bad faith interpretations of phil because he was critical of tubbos choices or simply didnt understand sunnys character perfectly. and there were. a lot of those. purgatory had happened just a few weeks prior, so i liken it to that. maybe it is just my expierence, but the phrasing of a lot of character crit and analysis between the two has wildly different interpretations of a character (to wildly different results)

you can get qphil fans explaining against a bad faith interpretaiton, and people will (and have) called them excuses to defend against character analysis. i have noticed, however, when qtubbo fans do the same thing (and they have) it seems to be more of a matter of adding context to the conversation. thats.... exactly what qphil fans are doing however? when talking critically about qtubbo not communicating with other parents and friends both his and sunny insecurities, its all that hes younger and in a bad mental state. but you have something about phil not understanding sunnys character perfectly, and hes a cruel stepmother and such; and when an explanation is added to why hes not a bad father nor a good father, just an imperfect one trying his best, its simply a "mindless defense against a crit of his character". are these not the same things? providing context to a percieved bad faith interpretation? idk. i cant tell if its the age or the percieved roles theyre supposed to take, but why is tubbo allowed to be imperfect and doused in outward angst, especially when interacting with other characters (ramon had to take the initiative to communicate with tubbo. and yet. age age age.) phils just as complex and imperfect and unwell. all of qsmp is unwell. it is an explanation, not an excuse.

anyway. i think i was thinking about this because of the flightless bird/ostrich dna joke. ill timed, just like the fred one. but phils reaction speaks volumes doesnt it? if its an age one maybe he'll overdramaticize, but he laughs it off mostly. theres a lot he laughs off. he doesnt. "if your kid wasnt here id kill you". tubbo doesnt know about phils failed flight. he probably wont for a while (i cant help but think qphil is embarassed. he was knocked unconcious from hitting the water too hard. and he knows how to fly? fuck, man). i think its wild, however, that one fred joke gets the entire fanbase ready to deface and mischaracterize the whole character. but one wing joke gets maybe shocked laughter and about two posts complaining? idk. maybe im just complaining about nothing, im tired as fuck.

tldr is that tubbo fans are so wildly hypocritical that they cant see when theyre doing the same thing as everyone else. im sure im being hypocritical in this post, its human. but its annoying as fuck when its everywhere, and i think purgatory made it worse.

YAYYYY i would love to talk about it ofcourse.!!!!!. some of them i picked off of pure vibes some i thought abt their personalities+ story arcs

for earth ponies i chose the people who had a 'grounded' personality, like both the sect leaders & tang soso :3 for chung jin and yoon jong, a big part of their characters is that despite not being special they have their own parts to play, so i put them in earth pony category.

for jogul and hye yeon, physical strength is their thing so i put them there too hehe

the unicorns are the 'cunning' ones? i dont have a particular reason for them being there i just think these characters would be the ones that'd most fit the unicorn type and make the most of it :3

but since im sobyeong and jang ilso are the most 'similar' to chung myung in canon, they all get to be unicorns together. geumryong gets to be a unicorn bc he's the pride of the family and im sure using magic is a big plus 👍👍

as for the pegasus, 'freedom' is the biggest factor! tang bo is a pegasus bc he loves freedom the most and his butterfly motif alrdy makes him wing-coded yaknow(also he's the flight to chung myung's magic)

baekcheon is a pegasus also to contrast geumryong and bc he's 'free' too, in a way :3 i typecast yu iseol as a unicorn at first but i thought abt how speed is always a thing in her attacks. also it's fun to think abt how as a pegasus, she taught tang soso the earthpony how to be free...

the others i picked off of pure vibes..lol...... but since there were 3 elders i wanted to make it so that they're all their own thing hehe

cheonma is an alicorn for ummm obvious reasons. but honestly thinking abt it wouldn't it be neat to imagine him as a changeling queen like chrysalis?

and this is entirely speculation because togashi gave us JACK SHIT about bonolenov so i choose to believe this purely for the sake of my delusions.

so starting with the obvious is obvious. bono is not the prettiest mf around. meanwhile feitan. he is traditionally good looking. there i said it- but seriously. bonolenov is not the societal standard of beauty, whereas feitan can at least pass without turning heads with his mask off.

bonolenov came from what we assume was a good and loving family. his devotion to his people and the dead traditions speak volumes. and i genuinely wonder if that sets him apart from the rest of the troupe since we know for damn well most of them aint had parents or blood family.

feitan, as mentioned above, doesn't have a family. he even refuses to call his close friends family even though we know- WE KNOW- they consider each other the closest thing to family. found family is a thing, but he refuses it because he dont need that shit.

they both share that distant connection to each other. the troupe itself is made up of these fragile bonds that were made with the inevitable intention to break.

it's the meteoran mantra of "thinner than water, thicker than blood" which is this paradoxical loyalty to each other, even if that means having to kill themselves. its so. MMMMMH. this is what i mean when i like non traditional relationships its so GOOD.

anyway. bonolenov and feitan walk that thin line while coming from their own backgrounds. bonolenov had to learn what that phrase meant while feitan grew up with it engraved on his soul.

i feel the need to say before i finish this post that im not accusing anyone or "the fandom" of doing anything, this is merely an observation, but i find it really interesting that all of what ive seen people criticize ford for is coincidentally a lot of what looks like to me, as an autistic person, is him having classic "undesirable" or "frustrating" autistic traits, things like lack of understanding for social norms (manners in particular), lack of empathy, being incredibly blunt, and inability to understand other people. These are all traits that a lot of typical abrasive scientist characters have so its not like im here saying hes canonically autistic or anything, its just to me he feels like a very autistic character. which is why its so interesting to see people criticize him so viciously for things that ive found myself doing or at least can perfectly understand his thought process in doing those things. Like one thing ive seen someone complain about is when hes monologuing about how he got fiddleford to join him on his portal, and he says that fiddleford was "wasting his time making personal computers" and i guess to the average person maybe thats rude, like maybe he liked making computers! but to me i can see how it probably wasnt meant in malice or contempt for fiddlefords work ford just knows that fiddleford can do better and doesnt understand why hes "wasting" his time making computers because ford doesnt understand what his motivations are, like fiddleford can build GIANT KILLER ROBOTS and INTERDIMENSIONAL PORTALS, fords probably thinking "fiddlefords a genius he is so good at building why is he building computers when he can make big cool awesome stuff" that doesnt really seem that bad to me? definitely doesnt seem like itd make ford an asshole. And then theres the portal thing and like, i guess how not immedietly saying "are you okay" after your assistant just went face first into a portal to who knows where and is speaking backwards is not a good thing to do, but i definitely dont think that it meant ford didnt care about fiddleford, especially if he expressed multiple times later on how he regretted fiddleford leaving and missed him. to me its like, ford was already mad at him, already probably tense bc theyre testing the portal, then he gets fiddleford out and hes not like actually bleeding or anything (and even if he was visibly distraught i dont really consider ford to be the kind of person to really factor in psychological damage when youre making sure someones okay (and he may have already been used to seeing fiddleford have panic attacks at this point so he couldve assumed thats what was wrong (but also like either way youre gonna be spooked if you just did the interdimensional portal equivalent to almost falling off a cliff))) so ford just probably assumed he was fine, plus hes already there for the portal test so his brains thinking about the portal test, having someone go in the portal is a pretty good way to test the portal so that person must know a lot .. and like still kinda a shitty thing to do but i dont think that means ford didnt care about him thats just a weird conclusion to draw based on how ford acts especially. there seems to be this big idea that ford secretly hated fiddleford and saw him as less than when thats not really true at all, ford even admits in his journal that he *needs* fiddleford and that fiddleford can do what he cant but also that he enjoys his presence and has gone out of his way to do things for him, plus theres so many times where ford really does talk about how much he admires him! fiddleford got a whole page! just about him! when ford couldve just offhanded mentioned him in his journal (that is SO important to him too) he decided to dedicate a whole page to listing off his quirks and drawing a picture of him like thats just pure adoration!! i just think that with all the stuff with bill combining with his lack of empathy and ability to understand others he just comes across as meaner than he probably was

I think people are way too quick to dismiss classic romance stories as not romantic in the same way people are too quick to confirm classic romance stories as romantic. In the heart of all examples like romeo and juliet, great Gatsby, lolita, etc etc is tragedy, sexuality, infatuation, but its not necessarily *wrong* to call these stories love stories. Theyre not the typical disney "no one has any power over the other and everyone lives happily ever after" type stories bc that isnt their purpose. Theyre there as a warning, always.

Im going to use lolita as an example bc its the one ive read most recently. I want to preface this by saying i dont think the ppl who think humbert had a pure love for delores and only wanted to cherish and protect her and the only issue between them is the age difference are right. No, people saying that completely missed everything about the book. But the people who vehemtly deny that also miss crucial parts about the book.

Humbert loved delores. He loved her fiercely and violently. He often described her as a brat, as annoying, as sucking his life away, but he even loved that about her. Everything she did wrong was not wrong because she did it. When he got worried about her, he enrolled her in school. When she got sick, he rushed her to the hospital. When she got kidnapped (left semi-voluntarily) it led him on a desperate chase across the country that led in a man's death.

But the thing people miss is that love isnt pure. Its brutal and horrible and some of the worst things people can do is because love. Love is *intoxicating*. It surrounds you and affects everything you do. its the reasons crimes of passion are a thing. Its sickening. It is completely possible to do the worst things ever to a person and claim its bc of love.

Its not wrong to call unsavory love stories love stories. The love is there for a reason. People get them mixed up with savory love stories for a reason. The characters do those things bc theyre sick with love. Love is deadly. Trying to recatoragorize a genre of romance/love books bc they dont fit the perfect definition of love and romance will only harm our understanding of something every human experiences.

what do you think bsd is trying to say about war? do you have any other thoughts about political themes present in the story?

oh i have,,, thoughts,, for sure. also these are more loose threads that have been floating around in my head more than a concrete thesis so sorry if they dont make much sense as a whole

one thing i think is crucial to discussing bsd as a political story is to look at which countries' authors asagiri choses to include in the story.

obviously the main cast is japanese, but the other prominent characters come from usa and russia, and if you also take in characters from the light novels or ones, who have been foreshadowed to be important (like agatha), france and the uk come to mind. those are all states with imperialist past/present, and while there are none morally pure countries this specific selection is still pretty intense all things considered. many of the authors included in bsd were also involved politically one way or another (most had been active during the first half of the 20th century, and wrote about war one way or another)

the imperialism isnt really touched upon, unfortunately so, but ( and maybe this is just me being hopeful) i like to think its less about asagiri not seeing it and more about him not wanting to open another sensitive topic in an already complicated work of fiction.

ultimately i'd say bsd is anti-war. that's the most prevailing political theme, and one that has been slowly revealing itself and becoming more prominent the further we go into the story. worth noting is how elements that could've (and maybe should have) been shown as explicitly political avoided this framing in earlier parts of the story (fukuzawa's old profession, kunikida's ideals), but ig there's still time for that. the anti-war sentiment ties back to a lot of the works that the abilities are named after, esp in the agency. no longer human, thou shalt not die, the makioka sisters (tanizaki's light snow) are all prime examples (and kunikida's ability could technically be put under this too depending on how you look at it, since his war journalism is what made him a prominent literary figure). even if some of the authors had some questionable opinion's irl, the parts that asagiri choses to include always come back to the horrors of war.

decay of angels is another thing, given it's named after mishima's last novel, one that he left to his publisher on the same day he started a coup trying to restore the emperor of japan and commited seppuku. there was a theory i saw a while back that said bram wasnt actually a doa member, and the 5th person is yet to be revealed, and it'd be really interesting if we got mishima in bsd but he's still to this day a pretty polarizing figure (understandably so) and im not sure if asagiri would want to take that step, since it'd be a point of no return in terms of explicit politics in the story. and he's been pretty timid with that i mean look at the way he handles police brutality (cops in yokohama being portrayed as incompetent yet ultimately good people, jouno going from prime example of someone knowingly abusing their power to apparently caring abt the innocents, and this is obv a different, more complicated topic so uhh idk maybe ill talk abt it some other time adgsfgagd). idk it just seems like he's afraid to really push the ideas forwards, keeps them palatable to the general public although idk if this is a concious choice or not. im willing to give asagiri the benefit of the doubt bc of how he handles fukuchi though. people hate him bc??? idk he's not a twink and he killed someone ig but personally i adore him, goofy aah guy imo. it'd be easy to write him off as just an autoritarian crazy guy who wants to take control of the world for unspecified "greater good" but the arguments he makes are generally pretty compelling! and not just to readers, we see atsushi questioning the way world works and government's role after listening to fukuchi explain himself. its fukuchi's methods that are questionable not the ultimate goal of state abolition. and we still dont really know what his ultimate reason for doing all this is, just that he claims it's not revenge on fukuzawa, so im curious how this is going to get handled.

and the last thing is the brief anticapitalism theme in the guild arc but again, its like asagiri gave up on it before it became too prominent. fitzgerald is the ultimate capitalist and we see this esp in relation to steinbeck, whose dislikes list finansists in the enligh translation and capitalists in the polish one (no idea what is listed in japanese exactly). but fitzgerald is ultimately sort of redemed, with his (and poe's) wealth treated as a gag rather than a human rights violation

Day 15 - Are there any ships you dislike?

alrighty so. there are only rlly four i ‘dislike’, and the first three… it’s more complicated than anything, it’s not entirely utter pure-n-simple disdain. it’s less about the ships themselves (in two of the cases, anyway) and more about how they seem to be perceived by the fandom + how much they dominate everything. other ships exist, guys! the other characters exist! anyway ill try not to be mean but i am gonna be petty, lol

so for starters, yeah, jack x ianto. i have a very specific view of it, that i do enjoy, but the fandom seems to be doing something else entirely and i've developed some resentment despite myself. especially bc it’s overrated as fuck. don’t get me wrong, it’s iconic, as far as being culturally significant gay rep, but if im honest idk how well they hold up in 2024? i thought their relationship in s1 and s2 of the show was lackluster at best. poorly written bread crumbs. and yeah i know it was big for 2006 but im just personally kind of offended that they could show them sucking face but not show the intricacies of why the hell ianto would fall for a guy who shot his girlfriend down?? like, their relationship is inherently dark and angsty to me and im interested in exploring that, bc the show certainly doesn’t (initially) bother to, and a lot of the fan content i see is either fluffy (??????????), or angsty in a Tragique way, or is just kind of… fetishy and whumpy? people slot them into a Specific Kind of Dynamic and it grosses me tf out. so the fandom culture rubs me wrong, and then it’s just… such a bummer to like owen and tosh and gwen in a fandom that only seems to prioritize this one ship. there are 22k fics in the torchwood ao3 tag, and 13k of them are janto. now, all that being said… they do intrigue me and endear me, just a bit. but it took the audios to make me give a fuck about them, which is sad. 

on that same note - i have the same relationship with tosh x owen, but i'm significantly less fond of it, cuz it just plain rubs me wrong. i like them in theory, so i spent months trying to figure out how to make them work and what other people are seeing that they think is so endearing and cute - i just can't find it. owen's treatment of tosh is just about the only thing i can't stand about him. he treats everyone poorly, but most of the rest of the cast defends themself (or even hit back, like ianto and gwen, and thats why i ship them with him! it’s spicy! i love balanced unhealthy dynamics in fiction hfdsjkf i can’t lie) - but tosh just lets him, creating an unhealthy power imbalance where she’s just getting hurt over and over again, and it makes me wanna fucking punch him cuz she does Not deserve that. i want him far away from her lmao. except under certain circumstances, cuz i have written fic about them, and i’ve read like three rlly good ones (and the main link between them is tosh stands up for herself and puts him in his place! i HATE how he walks all over her in canon ughhhhhhhhh). additionally, i do admittedly enjoy the angst of their canon arc. i just think fandom throwing them together and making it cutesy is lazy, uncreative, and an injustice to both characters. i think the SHOW throwing them together was an injustice to both characters, especially tosh’s. they're tragic and compelling, ill give them that, but theyre not sweet, and i don't think they'd be good for each other. 

(also worth noting on a show where everyone has tension w each other, imo barrowman & gareth and naoko & burn pull it off the least convincingly and have little to no chemistry. like every other duo just kind of sparks in some way or another, and neither of those duos do. which SUCKS bc they’re the canon ones. but it’s also heavily poor writing like they were doing the best w what they had. grr. like i still dont know what the fuck ianto likes about jack or what tosh likes about owen 😭 that’s ridiculous!)

the other ship i’m petty about is jack x john hart. i just think it’s far too popular for what it is. idek why that is, do we have a substantial amount of buffy fans in the fandom? don’t get me wrong, i liked john in the show + i liked their relationship as well, but i'll always be annoyed when a minor character gets more attention than the fascinating main ones. 

and lastly i hate john x ianto, because i respect ianto, lmao. i can’t lie, if he was my fav i’d probs ship it HJFKDSHFK i love putting my favs in awful situations. but as is it just grosses me out. get him outta there!! 

tldr: i don’t interact w the john hart side of the fandom, and if a fic is tagged 'jack/ianto tosh/owen gwen/rhys' i probably won’t read it 😷

i remember i used to not selfship publicly, since it wasn't common to do it back in my days (wow okay grandma /silly), and honestly i don't think i realized i was selfshipping, in a sense? i have countless documents of 'cringeworthy' selfship imagines and shenanigans across all the different fandoms i've hyperfixated on, that never saw the light of the day (and that's okay! i wrote those purely for self-indulgence haha). i've never really talked to anyone about it either because of how uncommon it was, plus, like you, i was afraid i'd be seen as 'weird' or 'cringe'.

i can't really define when exactly it was that i started selfshipping publicly and got comfortable with it? i think over the course of the years of internet development, it just became more and more common, and i just started to naturally post about it across all the blogs i've had. i understand it can feel daunting at first, but personally for me the more i post about it, the more comfortable i get (especially when my friends or you guys support me on that endeavor! i'm always thankful for that ᰔᩚ)

i just realized that john is the only one i put as a human, while other 3 were varies as natural inherent characters sort of. it doesnt mean the other 3 are less human than john bc i didnt put any meaning like that on the writing, but rather the way i view him. this is more like sharing my perspective of each members of the beatles, but the special episode belongs to john as he is an interesting charismatic almost impenetrable mindset serpentine behavior deceitful craft bewildering inmost spirit and soul to me (i honestly do not know if the terms and the concepts of spirit and soul are distinguish or not.) i also put many big words as partly english is my second language and i dont fully understand all those words, partly i try to find any words that can virtually touch on the way i see him, and partly is because i dont think any word are enough to help me describe him, or im just not good at english. i mean john is a thought provoking case study for me i didnt not think of him that much just to write this long ass paragraph. i personally have a lot of specific feelings towards him that i havent shared.

my interpretation of beatles and the concept of universe: while paul and geo is the sun and the moon, john to me is an astronaut who is floating in the universe. he feels the apocalypse of his life has come near, yet he doesn't care that much. he only wants to explore the emptiness of a rich of so many void. he is lonely, but at the same time he feels the warm of that loneliness in that vast field of stars and he suddenly doesnt feel alone anymore. while starr is literally named starr, he should be a star right? but to me he is the ocean. the last piece of the band who gets along the same line with the other, like how similar is the sea to the universe. we all know the universe is so infinite and mysterious. while whenever thinking of going to the beach, to the seaside, swimming in the ocean, we only think about fun. like how starr is potrayed as the band's clown and all. but the sea also have its depth and enigmatic charisma, and human also yearn to learn about the darkness inside that big void like how they want to touch the moon. starr is that little starfish who dreams to belong to the sky, and at the end he is. john wants to be the sun, but he is just a nowhere man. paul desires to follow the sun, he is the fool on the hill yearning to be one. A random headcanon: UHHHHHHHHHH OH MY GOD . I KNOW i have headcanons abou t this bitch he swarms around in my mind all the time. do you have any thoughts on class 1a dynamics as a whole? i really love whenever they make an appearance in your fics (like the party in tlaao) would love anything more you had to offer, whether in high school or in a hypothetical future

honestly i dont have that many thoughts on the subject bc if im being real i only care about like 40% of class 1-a lol. sorry to the extras but so many of the charas are not developed or interesting enough for me to have thoughts on them. i vacillate between wanting to just flesh out characters myself or point to canon and just give in to the fact that loads of the characters are boring / have no depth, so i dont have specific takes on like The Entire Class. but i do enjoy the way certain charas bounce off each other and some of the friend groups, notably the whole kirishima/kaminari/sero/ashido subgroup who i think feel like an actual group of friends w clear similarities in temperament but distinct personalities, unlike a lot of the nebulously fanon friendships in the class.

for the class as a whole i do find their like group dynamic interesting objectively given 1) the insane amount of trauma theyve been through and 2) the way certain classmates are unarguably like the mvps of the class. theyre all traumabonded war vets by this point so i imagine theyre pretty close regardless of personal affinity, but then also 5-10 of them are consistently involved in high stakes drama and 3 of them are like the main characters of their universe, espeeeecially bakudeku. i have this whole thesis on 1-a v bakudeku that ive never worded properly which is like… yk how all might says theyre 2 sides of the heroism thing? i think thats also true wrt to their class. like in their own way i think both of them are kind of the heart of the class/the class mascot. i know that may seem like a stretch regarding bakugou but i think its p true. theyre both fairly aspirational and also heavily involved in class plots (for bakugous side think sports fest and kidnapping for starters lol), n i think lowkey both have similar leader traits ™ despite opposite approaches as the story progresses. importantly they have like opposition/foil roles to each other so i think in conjunction is when they really act as class mascot. and i love that in recent arcs bakugou is like the class voice of reason leader to midoriyas rogue agent thats a fun reversal (altho id argue midoriya has always been a pretty reckless and independent actor who is a team player only by chance).

also i just enjoy narratives where there are some people that Stand Out and i wish there was more of a… idk, Vibe there where 1a acknowledges the Otherness of some of their classmates instead of typical ‘together we fight! we are here for each other! go team!’ ra-ra shonen bs. bc it would be really weird and interesting to examine what its like to be a character w like normal / above average but normal for 1A abilities but then have to contend w these Super OP classmates. imagine going to class and endeavours kid is there w two quirks. and one guy has all mights quirk. and the other guy gets kidnapped by the league of villains as a recruitment stunt bc hes that good. ok.

i realise ive gotten very off topic from ur ask i think in a less meta way something i enjoy is the semi unlikely spinoff friendships that develop w age. like i always enjoy making uraraka close with both bakugou and todoroki bc i think she admires them both a lot in hs and sort of befriends them individually by accident through midoriya except it just sticks bc shes good-natured but not much of a pushover so she can handle their antisocial antics. or like sero is unexpectedly one of those ppl who just has everyone’s number bc hes really chill and has unlikely hobbies. in general i think 1a likely hang out a lot even as adults and their in-jokes are all really disturbing but funny to them alone. they also try to drag the horror trio kicking and screaming out of pure workaholicism whenever they can (kirisquad esp). i feel like the first couple of times 1a went out they went massively overboard bc of their abnormally important need for stress release and it was a complete mess that barely anyone remembers anything of except the usual sober(ish) contingent. todoroki and bakugou both know more than they let on but will take the memories to the grave for a variety of reasons.

theyre probably all very competent heroes in general when older also but like yk how when youre surrounded by smart people you forget theyre smart? i feel like their sense of normalcy is so skewed none of them realise how impossibly trained they all are at their jobs. their peers/the GP is in consistent shock and theyre just like ‘whos up for drinks next tuesday lol’. running gag that all of 1-a is ridiculously overqualified and also like way too used to dealing w earth-shattering danger so normal villains avoid them like the plague to spare themselves the embarrassment.
