2. How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

i started playing FL in 2018, but it wasn't until late 2020 when i finally got around to playing the Light Fingers finale that i really… started thinking about my player character as a solid character in the world. the parental feelings for the Hybrid is really what came first. then, the second thing that really started to solidify CM in my mind was, uh… getting really into the Chiropterous Hoarder romance in SSkies, because it was the second time i got really into a Mad Scientist With Baby Fever character, which kind of made me come to a realization that. wait. this character concept i like can exist in multiple characters? -> what if... i incorporate character concepts i like... into my oc?

so i guess what i'm saying is that Mr Apples's fertility is indirectly responsible for baby Hope.

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

although i didn't start getting an idea of them as a character until 2020, CM got a name (and a new cameo, i honestly don't remember what my original cameo on that account even was) in 2019, simply because i wanted my player character to feel a little more in-universe. i picked the name basically purely on aesthetic/mouthfeel. i always have a moment's confusion when people try to call them just "crow", because in my mind it's all one flow of sound, crowmelusEEN. "crow" is some other guy.

ok so after hitting a random number generator like fifty times (which I think defeated the purpose of the random number generator) I finally settled on "Crossing State Lines" by Morgan Wade.

I chose this song because the first time I heard it a few months ago, the sound really gave me remdean vibes and then I read up on the lyrics and OUGH.

This song would be from my perspective - I have my remdean playlist mostly divided into eras, the first chunk being Dean and I's "falling out era", which as the name suggests takes place during/after we have a big fight and I leave for college. It's a whole big misunderstanding and I had wanted to hunt with Dean but this big fight obviously set us on opposite paths for a while.

Anyways, this era takes place before the show and I had feelings for Dean at this time but he did not reciprocate them yet. So I can just imagine this song playing while I'm at college, feeling bitter but missing him because I liked him but I had it in my head that he was just a big jerk who uses women and doesn't care about who he hurts along the way.

Specific lyrics that I found were very fitting:

my absolute favorite part of canon is that there is false kyber. in master & apprentice, kohlen crystal is almost entirely like kyber from appearance but acts differently. and its so cool. and i love it so much.

(i also just really like rahara wick + pax maripher from that book. please more people read the book.)

4. And reverse, which one of the four things [the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story] did you struggle with the most?

mmmm personality, i think. CM isn't the most immediately distinct character, i still kind of worry that they're a bit forgettable.

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

petty criminal focused on their own survival -> learned to care about others, became a parent and was inspired to clean up their act to be a better role model -> oh no turns out they can be corrupted by bat *****, the "caring about others" development is narrowing back down to "caring about their loved ones foremost and increasingly letting the rest slide", uh oh, oh jeez

so it's going well

they don't have an ending yet :) could be good, could be bad, i have a few... ideas... but nothing is canon

obiwan. i do not like obiwan. the only people i trust to talk about him and make me enjoy him are my friends.

ignoring all of the awful parts (Certain ships, the ways clones are characterized in a very fetishistic + racist way, the whitewashing, etc)

i honestly really dont like those incorrect quotes blogs. i wouldnt mind them if they actually got the characters correct and just attributed wrong quotes to them, but they entirely bastardize characters and arent even funny.

13. worst blorboficiation

ignoring the extremely obvious choices (obiwan and kyle ron. and this is also me not going into din blorbofication bc itd turn into talking abt fetishization). i hate the way most people portray anakin. like, hes my blorbo too. but i see people literally blame padmé for her death ("he Clearly thought she was cheating on him" as if that's a reason for it), and they just blatantly want him to be some daddy dom sex machine when hes a fucking loser.

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

im going to give a list instead of one specific thing. the headcanon that anakin + padme would be good parents, codywan (purely bc i was so overexposed to it that i dont like it and i only like when my friends talk about them bc once again fetishization), those fics where the jedi and clones are besties who dont have nuanced issues with each other. theres probably other things.

21. part of canon you think is overhyped
