Funny how this alt is supposed to be from the Nopes part where Sothis hijacks Billy's body to get revenge for Jerry ; Nopes Sothis never mentions her dead kids (save for AG) and never expresses a desire to avenge them, she wishes to terminate Agarthans (Barney) for what they did to Jerry, but not for slaughtering her own children.

In Feh proper (her quotes + forging bonds) Sothis is pissed and fights against perceived threats to both her and Billy, but we don't know why she is pissed. It could be from the same Nopes's scene when she wants to avenge Jerry, bcs Billy's accessories are Jerry related.

But in this video of Feh ??? They explain why Sothis is pissed, it's not because Jerry died, but because Nabateans, her very own children, were genocided ?

The one reason/motivation both Fe16, Nopes and even Feh work their hardest to ignore (it's just an infodump with no consequences in VW !), now this video gives it some light and thoughts ????

Like, rip to Jerry, but for the people who made this video, the only reason why Sothis could be totally pissed and willing to off the first peon who looks at her wrong is her ire at the loss of her children ?

They completely retconned the non-character she was in the Fodlan games, to make her react in a more logical way, Rhea BaD or not BaD, the second Sothis has her memories she destroys the Agarthans and their allies, to avenge the children, her children, who were massacred.

By making this video, IS first shows that Sothis genuinely cared about her children and maybe Rhea wasn't completely delusional when she called her a loving mother, second, and more importantly, they just shat on 3/7th of the combined games. Tru Piss!Sothis wouldn't marry Billy after siding with Thales to finish the massacre of Zanado, and Supreme Leader would have also been terminated, even if Sothis had to take over Billy at that point. Ditto for Clout in Golden Shower, if Sothis!Billy is from around, he dies the second the plot arrow crits Rhea. Jury's out on Supreme Bullshit, but I doubt Sothis would be A OK to work for Supreme Leader whose aim is, at times, to make Garreg Mach Rhea's tomb.

And third, only for the lols, where plot reasons prevented them to meet and interact in the Fodlan games and when Sothis being a piece of crap prevented an interaction in the halloween event, Retcon!Sothis finally meets her daughter in this video ! It's a nice nod to last year, F!Rhea believing and wishing she would meet her mother again in Askr, and the video delivers - Sothis, through Billy, protects her !

Of course this content only pops up in a video bcs even Feh in its main game cannot drop such a heavy dump on Fodlan's writing and plotholes, but I wonder what prompted IS to release this video, with this explanation as to why Sothis is angry.

bought and started playing Cloudpunk because i wanted to watch a video essay on it and honestly, from the video title and based on the person that made the video, i don't know what i was expecting the game to be but i don't know why i didn't expect it to be a "existential dread under capitalism" simulator, this is simply too fucking much. like the game (so far) has some really good fucking writing and really good fucking pacing and really good fucking voice acting and a gorgeous world and great design and aesthetics but like my brain is simply shutting off trying to think about the implications like it's too much. talked to Teko and my brain just switched off trying to think about the implications. talked to Eveline and my brain started to think about the implications and i completely zoned out (not really but my brain was almost static at that point although i clapped when she said "don't tell me how to label myself"). rn i'm only a few deliveries in, i just gave Never-Slow Joe his drive converter and the moral dilemma the game presented was simply too much so i am. done for the day. that is a problem for another day.

currently working on: nothing important really, i just need to get started on my homework for this week, usually i start on monday and finish wednesday, but since my new job doesnt allow me to stay after class to do homework, i haven't actually started, so now i need to start doing assignments at home which is bad bc i always procrastinate if it's not done in the library (all i ever do is school and work and play video games/ watch youtube or podcasts during my free time, so i feel like i'm not really working on anything interesting.)

Slayin it up video game edition

ppl used to try to make fun of me for using zoo tycoon as a reference for animal shit and idk man like.... the game is literally built off the idea of educating you, it literally has an encyclopedia that tells you not only about the animals but also about the plants too. yeah its a tycoon game but thats only if you focus on it in that sense, personally i dont, I've always liked playing it to learn more about the behaviors of animals. sure things are generalized here and there and not 100% accurate- partially bc it was made in the early 2000's and we've probably acquired more info since then, but regardless its still pretty solid and taught me a lot about certain animals growing up, which other tycoon games dont really offer... anything teach-worthy.

REALLY LONG DREAM

just had a dream where I was supposedly playing a video game, but it was much more like a movie — or maybe it's just that I only remember the cutscenes?

the main character was royalty, a young man around 17-19 years old. I believe he was a prince who would be king the next day. it opens with him running through a dark, murky corridor that is completely overgrown and thick with moss and algae on the walls. he runs a bit longer and makes it to a slightly wider room with strange marks on the floor and a large tree facing him on the other side of the room.

the tree is a pink cherry blossom. its flowers are so vibrantly pink that they appear to glow in the dark room. there are cubby holes off to the right of the room that are just big enough for one adult to fit standing up. all of the room is dark save for a small amount of light coming from a crack in the tree's canopy and illuminating the markings on hhe floor. it looks as though people haven't been here in a long time.

the prince stumbles forward and gets down on one knee in front of the tree. he starts begging and pleading for it to give him protection, because he is being pursued by someone who wants to assassinate him. the tree does nothing. he continues to plead for the tree to wake up and help him, but in his desperation he forgot to keep watch for the assassin that was following him.

the assassin approaches and quickly puts their sword straight through the prince's back. the prince shouts in shock as the assassin removes the sword and runs away back down the corridor. the prince curls in on himself and crumple to the floor with painful cries mixed with more begging for the tree to help him. as his blood starts pooling he slowly goes silent.

it's at this moment that the tree finally wakes up. it must have been the blood seeping into its roots. the flowers start glowing very brightly and the air becomes thick with sparkling pink mist. the prince's blood continues to pool and the must gets thicker and thicker until nothing is visible.

suddenly the prince wakes up at the foot of a different cherry tree. this one is on a hill and surrounded by pink flowers. as he pushes himself up he finds that he's still been stabbed and still bleeding, but there seems to be wood growing through the hole in his body that is stopping him from bleeding out and dying. as he looks around his new surroundings he spots a large brown mole cricket that seems to be boring a hole near the tree. the cricket turns to him and says "oh, you too?"

he and the cricket talk to eachother for a while, the cricket saying that the assassin stepped on him as they were leaving. the tree had revived anyone and anything that had died in its chambers at that moment. the prince was reassured a little by the fact that the tree had listened to him, and was also very happy that all the other creatures were revived alongside him.

but as he left the mole cricket to continue with his hole, he saw the surrounding landscape and immediately knew that this was not how he had left his kingdom. the forest that contained the cherry tree was now right next to the castle and citadel, and a large ring around them kept the grass inside green, while all the grass outside of the circle was a sickly charcoal grey. there were people moving in and out of the circle carrying trading items and bringing wild animals from outside into the circle.

his kingdom used to be outside of the circle. it seems that the entire population had to move to a central point �� including his castle — to avoid the black grass. as he stared in confusion he suddenly realised that ow ow ow this hurt a lot and he might want to make his way over there to try and find some help. he picked a few of the flowers up, said goodbye to the mole cricket, and stepped out of the ring and onto the dark grass.

the bit in the middle gets a little vague. I remember him awkwardly ducking and moving between people in the streets, walking past a herd of sheep in the middle of the path and talking to locals. the citadel was built on uneven ground and some buildings were on slopes. at some point he got told that he looks a lot like the royal family, and rumours started that he was a secret fourth child of the crown. he had to run from people who wanted answers, and it got to the point where the queen knew.

she waited until he got close to the castle, then asked one of her daughters to go to the front gate and invite him inside. the prince was unsettled by how much this princess looked like his mother and he slipped back into the street out of discomfort. the princess told the queen about how much he looked like a previous ruler. the queen thought back to her grandmother and how one of her sons had gone missing.

she sent out a party to find the prince and convince him to come to the castle.

the group finds him and brings him to the castle. he meets the current royal family and everyone absolutely freaks out because uhh yep, that's the missing prince. this has all happened in the span of three days or so and the prince is still recovering so they hang out and don't tell the public for a while just to get things sorted.

the queen mainly runs the country because the king is sickly and wouldn't be able to handle everything by himself. they have two daughters and a son. one of the princesses has a husband and children already. the single princess is set to be the next ruler. our prince thinks she'll be really good at it.

on the grey grass thing, apparently it had started to spread seemingly out of nowhere within the past five years, nobody knows how to get rid it, and the only things that are known to counter it currently are the magic cherry blossom trees. although the kingdom is currently protected by the power of the main tree, it won't last long and the tree will most likely die within the next two years.

hearing this, the prince worries that their kingdom will die alongside it. while trying to think of a way to combat the grey, he suddenly remembers that he died in the chambers of the main tree, but woke up underneath another tree that was a way away from the kingdom. as well as this, as he walked on the grass, his footprints left green patches behind him which quickly faded. the same happened with the mole cricket burrowing into the ground.

he pulled the plants he got from under the tree out of his pocket and found the seeds, then asked if maybe finding more trees could get rid of the grey. while the royal family wanted to do this, the grey ground was too tough to dig very deep and anything planted in it wouldn't grow. they had to find another way.

resolving to think about it later, the prince decided to check his injury from when the assassin killed him. the wood growing through it had spread and sprouted leaves and pink flowers. when he went to sort it out the plants retreated further inside and he decided there wasn't much he could do about it.

a few days later the royal family and our prince came outside to make a speech to the kingdom, but they spoke it more like a poem. behind the castle you could see the ocean, but this background faded and turned into a watercolour-like retelling of everything they were saying. the first half of it was the queen explaining who our prince was and how he had gotten here.

then the rest of the royal family started talking about how the tree was what was stopping the grass from spreading. as they spoke the sky turned dark and it began to rain, the background thingy turning grey and stormy as the prince spoke of how the kingdom was in danger and they would need to find a way to either destroy the grass or leave for safer lands.

after this the royal family and our prince go to visit the king in his room, who was sitting at his desk, writing and drawing. they asked him if he had any idea of what to do. the king asked if he could talk to our prince specifically for a while, so everyone else left them alone. the king asked about the trees and whether they grew anywhere else.

suddenly the prince remembered a country across the ocean that had hundreds of magical trees that he went to visit when he was 9. he doesn't remember much but he remembers the ruler saying that the trees had taken a liking to him. the ruler also had a tree growing through his body. the prince says that maybe the trees are able to communicate with eachother in some way, and those trees liking him meant that the trees here liked him too.

the king nodded and then started talking about how he knew people the trees liked too. they all lived far away, and all of their kingdoms had several of these trees. he said he would try and send word of the struggle to some of these faraway countries and find whether there was a safe place the kingdom could possibly move to.

the prince went to visit the main tree and try and ask it what the right choice was. as he walked through the chambers he got nervous and remembered how the assassin had chased him through them. he entered full-on panic as he reached the central chamber. though it had been cleaned since, there were still stains in the ground where he had bled out while begging the tree for help.

in his panic he stumbled over and fell backwards into the thick trunk of the tree. as he touched it he felt the flowers of the tree inside him grow warm and the flowers on the main tree glowed.

at this point it gets fuzzy too. I think he spoke to the tree and it told him something like it was dying and the kingdom absolutely had to move because the other tree wasn't old enough to protect them yet. the prince calmed down a little and thanked the tree for saving him, then left when the tree had to fall dormant again.

I'm guessing he told the family what the tree said. there was a bit of a time skip and the whole kingdom looked like it was working on making boats and taming marine animals in order to escape the grey grass. in a year or two there were hundreds of huge ships loaded up with all the people and their belongings, plus livestock, wild animals, local plants, and anyhring else they could think of that would keep what remained of their old kingdom alive.

some people couldn't fit on the ships so they rode on the backs of giant marine dragon creatures with huge wings and sparkly blue ram horns. others flew planes, blimps, small boats, all sorts of things. the kingdom then set off across the ocean to find one of the kingdoms with the forests of magic trees in hopes of finding a safe place to stay.

before they left, the prince took some of the seeds and planted them next to the main cherry tree. he also cut off a branch, whose flowers immediately died, fruited and went to seed. he planted two of those seeds, then kept the remaining ones with him. then they left.

that was the end of the dream. I don't know if they made it to that next kingdom. I don't know what became of the land they left. I don't know if the trees lived, I don't know if the prince stayed in the kingdom, nothing. all I know is that they left in high hopes for a safer future. I hope they made it.

all of it was beautiful. I remember mentioning several times how beautiful it was. the colours were vibrant and the whole thing was very painterly and absolutely addicting to look at. the prince's outfit was mostly red but had leaf patterns all over in blue and green. the rest of the royal family were wearing different colours with red accents, for example the queen was in purple, the eldest daughter in pink, the younger prince in light blue, etc. the kingdom itself filled with earthy greens and bluish greys, which made the colours show absolutely beautifully.

I wish it was real. I want it to be real. I loved this dream. it's one of the ones I want to bring to life one day.
