Secret
~ This took so much longer than I wanted it to, yay writers block right? 😭
~ Angst, Fluff at end, WC:2,737
~Remus is keeping a secret
Your boyfriend is cheating on you. That's the only explanation for the way he's acting. Every month he disappears, not just for an hour or two, but full days. Most of the time he disappears for about two to three days. And even if he doesn't disappear, he acts super weird around you.
You've tried to ask James and Sirius about it, but of course they never say anything. They are loyal to bone, which usually you respect but now it's just frustrating. You thought you were a part of the group, clearly you were wrong.
What are you supposed to do? You've already tried his friends, and spent months obsessing over behavior. Analyzing every little thing he does for you and other people, trying to find out who Remus would rather be with than you. You can't keep feeling like this.
You're in the library, trying and failing to focius on your book. Usually Remus would be here with you, but he's not. You haven't seen him since yesterday morning, when he all but pushed you out of his dorm room.
At first this whole thing was frustrating, and confusing, but now you feel rejected, a feeling your boyfriend should never give you. At first you raked your mind for any other reason why Remus would act like this. You went through things like illness, something about his friends, family maybe, you even thought it might have something to do with school work, but none of those explain why he's nowhere to be seen.
So now here you are. On the verge of tears while sitting in the library, wishing he would just come clean about what he's doing. At least then it would be easier to break up with him. But what can you do without proof, left with nothing but a bad feeling.
“What's wrong, sweetheart?” You are quickly pulled from your thoughts by James’s voice coming from behind you. He's always been incredibly sweet to you, mostly because he thought it would help convince Lily to go out with him, but you also know he's just a naturally good person.
“Fine, Jamie.” You give him the best smile you can muster, obviously he sees right through it. He slings his arm around your shoulder and plops down in the seat next to you.
“What's on your mind?” He seems genuinely concerned but you don't believe it. Real friends tell friends when they're being cheated on. You wish. In real life, however, they always stay loyal to whoever came first. You love that Remus has such great support when he needs it but what about you?
“It's nothing, doesn't matter.” You try your best to reassure him.
“No, something is clearly wrong. How can I help?”
“It's nothing, James, just drop it. Please.” He knows you're serious when you use his real name, usually resorting to some stupid nickname.
“Yeah, okay. If you need anything just let me know.” You only nod as he turns to leave. You take a big breath when you're alone again.
You're honestly trying not to panic. You love Remus, a lot. But you can't be with a cheater, you just can't. And if you break up with him then you lose all your friends, because of course, they were his friends first. Which means you have to start over, all alone. Yeah, no reason to panic.
Over the next few days you don't see Remus. Not because of him, this time it's you trying to disappear. This is what happens, he ignores you for a few days then comes back all clingy as if nothing happened. The first couple times you tried to ask about it but you never got a straight answer. He told you he was busy with his friends or with school, which was clearly a lie, so eventually you stopped asking.
You've had to change your daily routine a lot just to avoid him. Instead of going to his dorm for bed, you go to your own. You're not eating in the dining hall, because he would sit with you. You're sitting away from him in class and turning the other way when you see him in the halls. Apparently your avoidance has been so obvious, McGonagall stopped him after a class to ask what happened. You didn't stay long enough to overhear his answer.
“Oh, Angel!” You hear your boyfriend’s voice call for you in the hallway, you do nothing but walk faster, knowing you won't be able to keep it together long enough to face him right now. “I know you heard me.” His voice is much closer as he grabs your shoulder to stop you. He takes the books out of your hand and holds them behind his back.
“What do you want, Remus?” You ask him, not turning around.
“I want to know why my girlfriend has been ignoring me for days now?”
You no longer feel sad when you finally turn and look at him, the irony of his statement filling you with sudden frustration and anger, “Oh really? What about you Remus? You ignore me for days every month and I still don't have an answer for that!”
He stays silent, analyzing your expression before continuing, “It's different,” is all he says.
“How Remus? I would love for you to explain how exactly this is different.”
“It just is!”
“You know what, I don't even care. Come find me when you can explain, otherwise don't bother.” You feel like you're going to collapse as you walk away, leaving him in the hall, with your books in his hand.
You didn't think it would be this hard. Yet after a few more days have passed it seems Remus took the ‘don't bother’ part of your speech more seriously than any other.
You honestly thought he would at least try to give you any kind of explanation. Even if it is a lie.
James and Sirius haven't talked to you either. Remus obviously told them about what you said, they don't want to be friends with you if you aren't with Remus.
Over the last few days, you've spent a lot more time with Lily and the rest of the girls.
“So, you wanna tell me what happened?” Lily asks you. You're sitting with her in her dorm with Mary and Pandora.
“I don't know what to say.” You shrug. What are you supposed to say? You don't want to tell her Remus is probably cheating on you, on the very off chance he isn't. And you don't want to admit how much you miss being around him.
“What did you guys fight about?” Mary pipes up. At this point the whole school has noticed the behavior between the two of you. Everyone has been talking about it, spreading theories as to why such a happy couple has been acting like this.
“It wasn't a fight,” You begin to explain to the girls, “I told him unless he can tell me why he keeps disappearing I don't wanna talk to him.”
You don't miss the look Lily and Pandora exchange. Mary focuses her gaze onto the floor, none of them look at you as Pandora speaks up this time.
“I mean he probably has a good reason.” She tries to offer.
“And you all know, don't you?” Great, you're officially the only one who doesn't know this secret your boyfriend is keeping.
“It's not what you think.” Lily tells you softly.
“Then why won't he tell me?”
“I don't know,” Lily tells you again, “Maybe you should talk to him.”
“I tried that, but it didn't work.”
“Then don't ask him to talk, tell him you're not happy. I promise he's not trying to hurt you.”
“And how do you know? He apparently told everyone but me Lily, what am I supposed to think?”
No one responds.
“I don't know what to do.” Remus tells his friends, running his hands over his face in despair.
“Well, I vote you stop being a dumbass but we know that won't happen.” Sirius offers him. The four of them haven't left their dorm all day, trying to convince Remus he needs to be honest with you. Actually Peter and Sirius have been trying to convince him, James hasn't talked to him all day. He knows why you were upset in the library and isn't trying to hide his irritation, however, he doesn't want to say something to hurt Remus. So he stays quiet.
“I agree. What's the worst that can happen?” Peter shrugs, you'd think Remus would listen to him considering he's the one in the longest lasting relationship.
“Uh, she could leave me!” He practically shouts, rolling his eyes at the look shared between Sirius and Peter.
“Oh you mean like what she wants to do now?” Remus doesn't even notice who says it, too distracted by the ice running through his veins.
“You really think she'll want to break up over this?” His voice is barely a whisper, the slight heartbreak clear in his tone.
“This is one of the biggest parts of your life and you haven't told her. She knows you've been lying about it and you haven't talked to her once since she said “don't bother.” In my opinion all you're doing is showing her you don't care.” Peter tries his best to explain this gently to Remus. Not wanting to hurt him but knowing Remus won't actually understand till he knows how you feel about it.
“I need to tell her. I just- I don't want her to leave me because of it.”
James lets out an exasperated sigh at Remus's words. “She's not going to leave you for being a werewolf, she loves you just as much as you love her. If she breaks up with you it's because of how long you've kept this a secret.
Another week goes by with no word for Remus. You're started to give up hope that he'll even try to talk to you again. Unless to finally end this relationship. Thinking about either of these options hurt your heart, not wanting this to end or go on.
“It's not until you're leaving the dining hall after dinner that you're pulled into an empty classroom. You can tell by the touch on your wrist that it's him.
“What do you want, Remus?” You immediately ask. You try to keep your face as straight as possible, not wanting him to see how upset you really are.
“I need to explain.”
“Seriously? Now?”
“Can I please just tell you what's going on? You can yell or insult me all you want afterwards, I just need you to know.” He lets go of your wrist but refuses to look away from your face.
You give a small nod in agreement but it's all he needs to jump right into what he wants to say, you have the feeling this whole plan was practiced beforehand.
“I was not trying to hurt you. I love you a lot. More than I have ever loved anything before and I couldn't bear the thought of losing you because I'm not normal. I figured if there were something wrong with who I am, I can change, I can fix that but I can't fix something I have no control over and I felt like I would die if I lost you because of it.”
“Because of what?” Is all you ask.
He takes a deep breath before finally explaining, “I'm a werewolf.”
“Oh screw you.” You roll your eyes and quickly walk out of the classroom.
Remus doesn't follow you out. He stays standing in the empty room for a few minutes, confused about the interaction that just took place.
He comes to your shared class almost halfway through and doesn't look at you until it's over.
“Angel, please talk to me.” Remus begs, following out of the classroom. You shake your head and begin to speed up your walk. He grabs your wrist and pulls you into him, “Baby please.”
“What do you want, Remus? Here to lie to me more.” You turn around to confront him.
“I'm not lying about being a werewolf.” He defends, eyes widening in bewilderment.
“That's not what I'm mad about.” Your tone grows more angry as you talk. “We've been dating for how long now and you don't tell me your biggest secret? You've had me panicking every fucking month wondering where you where and who you were with. All because you what? Can't trust me with this big secret?”
Remus visible winces as your voice grows louder. “Please don't be so loud.”
“Oh yeah! Don't trust me not spill anything!”
“That's not what I meant, love. Can we just talk about this, somewhere private.”
“So what? So you can make up some lame excuses?” You turn again and try to leave.
“No angel, that's not why I didn't tell you.”
You pause. As much as you want to keep walking you love him. Deep inside you know exactly why he didn't tell you but you don't think you can bear to hear him say it. You know it's not because of you but you feel like you failed. You feel as if you failed to make him know just how much you love him, just how worth it he is. You want nothing more than for him to be happy and if he hasn't told you about his big secret clearly he's happy enough with you.
“It has nothing to do with you, I promise. I wanted to tell you so many times, so much more than you know but whenever I tried I couldn't. My mouth wouldn't open as much as I tried. I was terrified that you would leave, I know you never would, okay, I know. But the thought that you could stopped me, it stops me from doing many things.”
“Why?” You ask, tears arriving in your eye line.
“Because I can't live without you. I know how cheesy that sounds but it's true. All my life I've dealt with the consequences of being a werewolf even from people that don't know. You have helped me be myself more than anyone ever has and that's enough. I can't bear the thought of you leaving let alone the thought of knowing I pushed you away. Knowing this pushed you away and it wasn't something I could stop because if I could I would. I know it makes things harder for you. I hear how people talk about you because of my scars and how awkward I am and you don't deserve that, you've made me think that maybe I don't deserve it either. I can't lose you. I can't let this push you away because without you I go back to who I used to be. And now that you've shown me who I really am, I can't go back to being him.”
You listen to his words silently, trying your best not to let the tears fall. He doesn't deserve to feel this way and hearing him admit that makes you want to cry with happiness for him, for yourself in succeeding to make him feel as loved as he is. You want to tell him this but he continues.
“I love you, angel. And I'm so sorry I couldn't get myself to tell you before. I am so sorry I made you worry and made other people lie for me. I don't know what to say except for that. I don't know how I can make this better.”
“You already did, Rem.” This time you turn to face him, seeing the tears on his face break your heart even more. “I mean I can't really fault you for your mouth sabotaging you.”
A small smile blooms on his face. “How dare it.”
“I know what it's like to be that anxiety. I thought you were cheating on me.”
“I would never!” He looks genuinely offended at your words.
“I know baby, but there's still that fear.”
“I'm really sorry.” He pulls you in for a hug.
“I know, Rem. I wish I could've helped you more.”
“Dove, you've already done more than enough, I love you.”
“I love you too. But if I find out you're keeping something else I'll kill you as you sleep.”
You feel Remus grin into the crook of your neck.

heart eyes
aww, they're in love with you !
peter
"h-hey," peter's voice cracks as he tries to speak, clearing his throat as a blush creeps up his cheeks. "i-i mean, hey."
his hands fiddle with something underneath his robes, his freckles slowly disappearing as his flush grows darker.
"hi peter, what's up?" you offer him a polite smile as you try not to laugh at how adorable he is.
"s-so i noticed that um...y-you're really good at, um, ch-charms. c-could you maybe...tutor me? i-i mean, i-it's fine if y-you don't!" he stutters.
he clears his throat again as he stares down at the ground. preparing himself to be slapped. for what? he doesn't really know. maybe for even daring to talk to you, let alone asking you for anything. why would he deserve to hold even an ounce of your attention?
"sure, that's fine. i'm free anytime, so let me know when you want to meet in the library," you shrug simply, your eyes widening in shock as he shoves 3 boxes of chocolate frogs in your arms.
"okay, thanks, bye!" he rushes off before you can respond, practically running away from you.
"um...bye, i guess?"
james
"merlin-!" your neck almost collapses as james places his elbow on your skull, casually using you as an armrest and leaning his full weight on you.
"has anyone ever told you how short you are?" he ponders, letting out a quiet oomph when you shove him off.
"get off me, you...ogre!"
"sweetheart, i'm hurt. anyhow, have you heard of what happened to malfoy? i set his mattress on fire," he looks at you with a childlike grin, eager for your approval. "you said he was insulting you behind your back, didn't you?"
"oh, that's not...that's not really a prank. that's just, um...arson." you scratch the back of your neck awkwardly, your lips twisted into a weak grimace.
his smile dips slightly. "well, i didn't exactly consult the boys about it. was more of a personal project. for you. don't you like it?"
"um...it's the thought that counts, right?"
as dubious as your answer is, it causes james' spirits to lift once more, and he tackles you in a hug (which subsequently cuts off your air supply--who knew he'd have such a strong grip?).
"i knew you'd love it!"
sirius
"ahh, good evening, love. sitting at the fireplace all by your lonesome?" sirius says loudly as he plops down on the couch next to you, throwing an arm over your shoulder.
"not anymore," you gingerly pick up his hand as if it's radioactive, tossing it aside and leaving it dangling behind the couch--but most importantly, away from you. "what are you doing, black?"
"you're so cold to me," he sighs, raking a hand through his hair. "you didn't notice anything new about me?"
you shake your head cluelessly.
"nothing? really, love? shoes? haircut? rings? clothes? you don't notice anything?"
you shake your head again.
"i'm heartbroken! devastated! anguished! inconsolable, even! i did all this to fit your tastes, you know!" he complains. "can't i have a little kiss to heal my shattered soul?"
he puckers his lips, leaning in with a hopeful expression.
"yeah, maybe in your dreams, black." you snort as you get up from the couch, moving as far away from him as possible.
he bites his lip as he watches you leave, idly rubbing his jaw.
"oh trust me, i'm dreaming...hell, i'll do a lot more than dreaming..."
remus
"i couldn't stay for break, so i wanted to give you an early yule present, if that's okay?" remus rummages around in his bag and hands you a strange rectangle.
upon closer inspection, it seems to be a (poorly) wrapped gift, but it's the thought behind it that warms your heart and causes an involuntary smile to spread across your face.
yes, too much wrapping paper was used, and there's tape in unnecessary places, but remus made a gift for you. who cares that it looked like it had been constructed by a blind toddler?
"thank you, remus," you say sweetly, your voice dripping into his ears like warm honey. "can i open it?"
"o-of course, and if you don't like it, i also have a sweater in my dorm for you. i um, remember how you'd always compliment my sweaters, so i thought i might get us a matching pair." he offers you a shy smile that makes your heart melt.
"you're so sweet, rem," you say softly. you delicately tear the wrapping paper, not wanting to ruin his hard work.
"it's my favorite book. i thought you might like it, and i annotated it. i highlighted the lines that made me think of you, and i also wrote little comments in the margins," he explains quietly, picking at his cuticles. "but now that i'm saying it out loud, it seems stupid..."
"it's not stupid, rem! i love it! it's really sweet and thoughtful! thank you," you say earnestly. "i'm really excited to read it over break. i mean it,"
"you're welcome, dove,"

Hi omg I just discovered you’re fics and girl 🥰🥰 I love them so I wanted to put in a request could you do a poly!marauders fic where reader has anxiety buts hates taking her medication, thanks!!
thanks for reading and requesting hunny! I hope this is okay. fem!reader x poly!marauders
cw: anxiety, medication, swearing
905 words
You weighed the bottle in your hand, hearing the tablets rattle. You debated your options. It was a safe bet to take them, but they made you feel flighty and drowsy. If you didn’t take them it could end badly, but nothing you weren’t used to. You had been stressed lately, but you could manage. You would regret taking them if nothing happened and you would regret not taking them if something did. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. You decided against it for the time being, closing the medicine cabinet and walking into your shared bedroom.
Sirius was rummaging through his part of the closet, holding various pieces up to his body, while Remus occasionally looked up from his novel to give an indifferent shrug or an approving smirk. James was looking at Sirius with googly eyes while he folded the clothes he was haphazardly tossing.
“See, I think this one makes- hey, gorgeous! -I think it makes my waist pop. What do you think?” He held the piece to his torso, showing off the top.
“Can’t tell if you don’t put it on.” Remus said, nonchalant.
“If you want a strip tease Moons, just say so.” Sirius winked, tossing the shirt into his ‘keep’ pile. You shuffled over to James, sitting next to him and leaning on his bicep as he kissed the top of your head and wrapped an arm around your shoulders.
“You should do this soon, lovie.” James suggested.
“Yeah! You were just saying you needed to go through your clothes the other day. Might as well give us the pleasure of a fashion show in the process.” Sirius smirked at you.
“Like I said, it’s only a fashion show if you actually wear clothes.” Remus said again. Sirius just rolled his eyes, going back to his closet rummaging.
You really did need to clean your part of the closet. You also needed to fill out some paperwork, and do some cleaning, and go through your makeup. Honestly, you had a laundry list of things you needed to get done that you were slowly working through. Slow as in, snail’s pace. An anxious jolt went through your body as you thought about it, making chills spread over your skin and your hands feel fidgety. You tried to take some deep breaths, but they just ended up shaky as you began to pick your cuticles. You could feel James studying the top of your head, and it made you more uneasy. You were running the risk of shredding your nails, squeezing your eyes tightly as if it would keep the anxiety out.
“You okay, baby dove?” Remus spoke up, setting his book down. This caught Sirius’ attention. Unfortunately, Remus’ words did not comfort you, but rather flustered you further.
“Y-yeah.” You struggled out, breathing becoming more shallow.
“What’s going on, sweet girl?” James questioned, backing up to look at your face.
“I- I think I’m just anxious.” You shook, still picking at your nails. You bit hard on your lip thinking it would help. It didn’t. Sirius dropped the trousers he was holding and hurried over.
“Shit, baby. Don’t hurt yourself, it’s okay.” He took your offending hands in one of his larger ones and freed your lip from its abuse with the other. They were used to this with you, which you regretted. James was petting your head gently. You could hear the skepticism in Remus’ voice.
“Did you take your medicine today, lovely?” His amber eyes searched your worried face. You just looked down, shaking your head.
Sirius was exasperated. “Baby,” He chided. “We’ve talked about this.” He said as Remus sighed and stood up to fetch your pill bottle.
“I know,” You said, shamefully. Sirius decided not to scold you worse in your fragile state.
“Here, drink this.” James handed you his water bottle, opening it for you. You drank up, the cool liquid helping your state. Remus returned with your medication, watching you intensely as you took the dose. When you swallowed, Remus took your chin in his hand, lifting your face to look at him.
“I know you have a hard time with this, but you’ve gotta look after yourself. It’s worse when you don’t, sweet girl." He was gentle but desperate as he pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead. You nodded, hiding in James' chest. He was graceful, and gently rocked you, hoping to calm your nervous system. Sirius grabbed one of your hands again, lifting it to kiss each of your knuckles.
“You feeling better, baby?” His eyes were unusually round and glossy.
“Yes, loads better. Thank you guys. I’m sorry I get like this.”
“Don’t be sorry, sweetness.” James kissed the top of your head again. “Just try to be nicer to yourself. There’s a reason you were given the medication.”
“I know.” You settled, your breathing finally returning to a normal rate. Sirius looked most relieved, giving in and tackling you onto the bed, making James squawk in protest.
“Geez Pads, don’t crush the poor thing. She’s fragile.” James relented to stroking Sirius' hair out of his face as the boy grinned on top of you.
“Shush, Prongs. I’m trying to enjoy this.” He turned his gaze to you. “Besides, I heard pressure helps anxiety.” He put all his weight on you, needling his arms underneath your body to squeeze you against him.
He was right. It did help.

Burn-Out
Pairing : Remus Lupin x f!Reader
fluff, comfort, some angst I suppose
Warnings : Burn-Out, depressive episode, anxiety, feelings of emptiness etc. Heavy topic
I want to help, to comfort and give hope to everyone who sadly had to experience (still is experiencing ) this like me <3
Content: Your boyfriend Remus decides to say something about the state you’ve been living in, as he is extremely worried about you.
Authors note: This one is a comfort story based on my own experiences, so you might experience burn out or any other mental health struggles very differently. Your experiences are valid. You deserve to rest and heal. Take breaks. Nothing is as important as your health and happiness! I know it’s hard, but it’s worth it <3 (I’m still learning that too :3)
The finals are killing you. There is no other way to describe it. No time to waste. You’ve got a study plan to use your time efficiently, and if you stick to it you might even get ahead of it too. Everything’s going according to plan. Still, you don’t really feel anything anymore. You don’t think you even really have time to feel. You’re always up in your head thinking about what to do next. Every point crossed from your to do list gives you this rush of adrenaline, only to instantly feel empty after ready to chase the next high.
Reading a romance book before bed, while giggling and slightly swinging your feet happend less and less. Even if you wanted to, there’s just no energy left at the end of the day, or any time of the day if you were honest. Besides, what’s the point of reading anything like that. It’s not really useful in any way. Entertainment isn’t helping you with the finals.
Yeah, it’s just not “useful”
That has become your main excuse if you were honest deep deep down, but you aren’t. How could you ever be? There is just no time. If it isn’t potions, it’s charm. If it isn’t charms then it’s transfiguration. There is always something.
Something to avoid thinking. Now it’s just doing. Doing what you’re supposed to do.
Piece by piece it chipped away your personality. At first it wasn’t as apparent. No one noticed, especially not you. Gradually though, you’ve become an empty shell of the person you used to be. There’s no use in these things, like reading, drawing or just having a chat with people.
Even if you wanted to chat with others, you didn’t have a lot of energy. Can’t say you haven’t tried for their sake, to not disappoint or worry anyone. Still, you’re just different.
Not yourself.
But also not anyone else.
You just became empty.
You weren’t always… but you are now.
Your friends stopped asking you to hang out, as you’ve always declined anyways. They just assume your always to busy for them. The marauders also stopped chatting up with you from time to time, since you were always liked up in homework, and no one dared to disturb you. Especially since you got very snappy most of the time.
Your boyfriend Remus was the first one to grow really worried though. Your date rate dropped slowly but surely down. The random chats about each other’s life’s declined as well. Everything is just so serious now. What hurt Remus the most though was that you stopped laughing. By Godric you even stopped smiling. It was Remus most favourite thing in the world. Seeing you happy. It just stopped. You just stopped being you.
Remus and you studied together in the library a lot. You still do that now, but even that changed. It’s barely chatting now, as you’re always so sunken into the topic you’re studying. You barely listen, and give shorter responses than ever before. After studying, you usually rush to do the next thing on your to do list.
Remus misses you.
Remus misses the actual you.
Once again, Remus and you were piled up with books in the library late at night. You were all alone, as most people would rather sleep this late. Not you, you were focused on your goals, and Remus tried supporting you. As you were scribbling down on your paper, lost in thought, Remus finally had it. He couldn’t bear it anymore. Missing you is one thing, but seeing you this miserable was another. Another thing he’s not able to tolerate.
“Y/n?” He muttered. He looked to his left, where you set next to him still lost in thought.
“Y/n?” Remus repeated. You came to your senses and looked at him, fairly confused.
“Yeah, what is it Rem?” You looked blank, waiting for a response.
Remus looked deeply into your eyes. “I am really worried about you y/n. You’re always stressed. You don’t enjoy anything anymore. You’re always tired. There’s no happiness left in you.”
This hit you like a train. You just thought to yourself after the finals everything will be alright. This is just a phase. Now, it hit you. You’re not okay. You look at Remus, frozen in anxiety. You don’t know what to do, or even say. You’re stuck in freeze.
Remus goes on “please, we can talk about everything. I can help you. I miss you so much. I don’t even know who you are anymore. You don’t laugh, by Godric you don’t even smile anymore. I’m just so worried.” The last sentence came out all wobbly, like he was choking back tears himself.
That made you realise how much your behaviours where not just impacting you, but also him and likewise your friends. Everything that made you happy you’ve chipped away yourself. It was all in favour of a “greater good”, your achievements. But was it really for the greater good? Or did you just sacrifice yourself?
Tears starting to form in your eyes. The growing feeling of sadness in your chest was growing heavy. So, so heavy. Everything you’ve repressed lately boiled up all at once. You never took time to look at your feelings once, since you could always distract yourself with more things to do. It’s like a rabbit hole. You go deeper and deeper, until you realise how incredibly deep you actually are.
Tears started streaming down your face.
You’ve felt them running down your cheeks, to the point where they even dropped down your chin and onto your clothes.
Remus eyes widened in shock. To him this reaction made it all the more serious. You were suffering silently. Drowning in this ongoing state of stress. Working day and night to keep down the pain you were feeling behind your achievements.
Remus put his arm around you, and pulled you in close. His other hand found its way behind your hand, gently pulling you into his chest.
As more tears streamed down your face, all you could produce was a wobbly” I’m sorry… I’m so so sorry…”
“Don’t worry… you’re not alone. I should have said something earlier.” Remus stroked over your back, while giving you a kiss on your head. Regrets filled Remus heads, about how far he let you go down this hole. You just can’t look into someone’s head.
“I’ve been so anxious about the finals. I thought if I do enough I can make it.” You continued to sob.
“I understand, I really do y/n. You’re not alone”
“I just feel like I need to do all of this. If I don’t, I will fail.”
“Y/n..” Remus looked deeply into your eyes. He has the most compassionate eyes you’ve ever seen. “You’re more than what you achieve. People love you for who you are. The way you speak, the way you laugh, the way you are”
Remus always had a way with words. What he said felt like it reached the depths of your heart.
“We’ve been missing you. I’ve been missing you.”
“Thank you Remus. I’ve been missing you too” you replied while a tear was rolling down your cheek.
“I love you”
You felt something. Love. Love for your boyfriend who tried to hard to help you.
“I love you too”
You forgot how it is to feel. You forgot to just be, and not plan every next thing to do. You’ve missed to live in the here and now with Remus.
“I promise I won’t let you alone with this.”
“It’s just so hard. How to I even begin to…to be less stressed.” Your voice was still shivering. You felt so fragile.
“I’m not exactly sure either, but we’ll figure it out on the way” Remus grinned at you. This smile could melt the entire North Pole, but right now it just melts your heart.
You just nodded, still processing everything that just happened.
“For starters, let’s go to sleep. No ones studying besides us right now, and to be fair we seem quite nuts to do so”, Remus said with a chuckle.
You’ve laughed. You’ve laughed again. His sarcastic remarks were always the best. Maybe you didn’t loose yourself after all.
“You’re very much right” you gave back with a slight smile.
Remus saw you smiling again. He couldn’t contain his excitement.
“See y/n, you’re smiling again”. His sweet grin broadened. “ I know we can fix this together.”
Remus kissed you on the cheek. After that, you’ve started packing up your things to go back ti your dorms.
As you are walking down the halls, you decide to ask Remus something. “Can I sleep at your dorm tonight? I don’t want to be alone.”
Remus was more than happy to do so, especially since the lack of couple time was eating him alive. “Of course honey, but I warn you. James, Sirius and Peter haven’t cleaned up the room. To be fair, I haven’t really either”
You just laughed.
“I really don’t mind. I didn’t expect anything else Rem.”
You’ve both got ready, and laid down in Remus’ bed. All the other marauders were deep asleep, and to be fair very heavy sleepers. James only rolled around once, when you kicked a lamp on the floor, which gave Remus a heart attack.
As you looked at Remus in the darkness of the dorm room, you could only feel so thankful to have him in his life. Finally, you felt some of your feelings return. It’s still a long way to go but you were sure with Remus by your side, you’ll make it.
You kissed Remus, and just started at him for a second longer.
“Remus, I love you”
“I love you too, y/n”. Good night”
“Good night”
A yawn creeps it”s way up to you. After that you cuddle up to Remus. You drift away in mere minutes, and finally get the rest you deserve
Once again, take care of yourself. Take breaks. You deserve to rest <3
I hope you all enjoyed this. Leave me other writing prompts if you want to <3

───※ ·❆· ※───
Over the next week and a half or so, James was there as you recovered. To the surprise of Lily and Molly, you were doing better than they expected, you were healing fast. Of course, only you knew how many times you had been tortured that landed you on the brink of death, and made it back, all in that hellhole you used to call home.
James was constantly asking if you were alright, if you needed something, and even though you had told him not to, James Potter was full of guilt.
Not only had he misjudged you and been rude to you for years, he was the reason you could have lost your life. He had to make it up to you, somehow. And he was glad you two decided to turn back the pages and write a new story, as he found your company very pleasant.
Sirius was completely blown away at the behavior of his best mate. Sure, you had saved James' life, but that didn't mean James had to follow you around like a lost puppy. Sirius had nearly stopped his cold behavior towards you but didn't try to warm up either. Remus merely quietly chuckled to himself at the sight of James and you. It was quite amusing to him, how James had hated your guts but was now wanting to spend quality time with you.
Going into the second week after the incident, you realized you were well enough and had to head home. James however declared he would escort you home, and would not take no for an answer.
"Potter, I'll be fine." You gritted through your teeth. James' constant stubbornness did manage to get on your nerves from time to time.
"No. I am going and that's final." He said, being stubborn as ever.
"Prongs, let L/n go if she says so." Sirius spoke in between, not happy about the newfound connection between the two of you.
James glared at him and gripped your forearm with a tight grip so you couldn't remove his hand, but not tight enough to hurt you.
You sighed in exasperation. "Fine." You said, giving in. You waved goodbye to Remus and Sirius, the latter not giving any response while Remus wished you farewell.
You and James walked out of headquarters before you closed your eyes, imagining your little cottage and the two of you apparated. You felt a wave of nausea hit you as your feet hit the ground and you bent over.
"Are you ok?" James asked with worry, trying to peer at your face.
You waved a hand, "Yeah, I'm fine." You answered, straightening up. However your mouth went dry and fear filled your whole being at the sight before you.
The door to your cottage was wide open, darkness pooling out. Above the building you called home, a colossal skull, composed of what looked like emerald stars, with a serpent protruding from its mouth like a tongue, etched against the black sky like a constellation.
The Dark Mark
"Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!" You whimpered, running towards your cottage with James on your tail. You rushed in, halting near your kitchen when you saw a dark red liquid staining the walls. Your breaths began to come out short and quickly, you felt your legs weaken as you leaned against the wall for support.
"This can't be happening." You breathed out, afraid of what you would see if you walked a few more steps in. James came from behind and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, surveying the situation.
"Y/n," He spoke softly, "We should go. I'll let the Order know and they can come and-"
"No." You shook your head as you freed yourself from the young Potter's grip, walking further in.
“Y/n.” James tried but you paid him no heed.
In the middle of the room sat such a heart wrenching sight that crushed your heart and soul entirely.
Your beloved House-Elf, the one companion you had since childhood, the one who healed your wounds, the one who had always made sure you ate and slept properly. The same House-Elf who had stayed by your side no matter how many times you had freed him, the one true friend you had for the longest time.
Dead.
And what broke your heart even more was that he had sacrificed his life, as his body lay lifeless in front of a small bundle of fur, also drowning in a pool of blood. The same puppy you had rescued from the streets only two months prior.
Both of them,
Dead.
You sank to your knees, sobbing your heart out.
"I'm so sorry." You managed to say out in between the heavy sobs escaping your mouth. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you two."
James stood rooted to his spot, reeling in with shock.
You shakily raised your hands out, grabbing the handles of the very metal that was pierced into your friends bodies and pulled them out. You tossed the knives to the side in anger, letting out a scream. At that, James finally snapped out of it and kneeled down beside you, bringing you into his chest.
"I'm so sorry." He said, rubbing your back as you cried.
You two stayed in that position for the next few moments. However a new sound caught both your attention.
Crack!
You pulled away from James' chest, wiping your face as you both exchanged a look.
Someone had just apparated onto the premises.
You both immediately jumped to your feet, wands raised in front of you.
You heard very tiny sounds of the pitter patter of feet and James moved forward, putting himself in front of you. You watched with bated breath over James' shoulder and when the newly arrived came into view, you shrieked, happiness and relief overwhelming you as you pushed past James. You fell onto your knees as you hugged your best friend.
"Willy! You're alive!" You spoke, feeling like your heart would burst.
A bark sounded and a very small bundle of white fur pounced onto you, excitedly licking your face. You picked him up, peppering his face with kisses.
"Hello to you too, my sunshine." You spoke as you hugged your dog, Fluffy, to your chest and pulled in Willy for a hug with your other arm. You were so overwhelmed with joy that tears began to cascade down your face again.
"Mistress, please do not cry. Willy did not mean to make Mistress cry."
You let out a watery laugh.
"How many times have I told you to call me Y/n, Willy?"
The House-Elf's cheeks colored pink. "Sorry, Mistress."
You wiped your tears away and then frowned, turning back to look at the scene in the kitchen.
"But if you're alive then, what's that?" You asked Willy, pointing over your shoulder.
"Those are fake, Mistress." Willy squeaked out. "About two weeks ago, I heard someone apparate and the wards shifted. Willy thought it must be you, Mistress, but it was not. You had told us to run if anyone evil came here, and we did but Willy had a good idea and with magic, Willy made the impostors so the evil people think it is us but Fluffy and Willy were gone and safe."
You let out a happy cry.
"You are an absolute genius, Willy, always have been! But how did you know we were here?"
Willy's ears bounced as he replied, "Willy had put up a new ward that allowed Willy to sense a new arrival if someone passed that ward."
You shook your head, smiling brighter than James had ever seen as you turned around, almost forgetting he was there.
"We need to go back. I need to stay at Headquarters until I can find a new place to shift us all."
James nodded but spoke without realizing, "Of course, but you could come to my place, it's fairly empty."
He mentally slapped himself. You two were at loggerheads two weeks ago and now here he was offering you to stay at his flat.
You smiled, "Thank you for the offer, but it wouldn't be nice of us to intrude, plus," You looked down at the excited puppy in your arms, "Headquarters may be more ideal for Fluffy in terms of space."
James nodded, not trusting himself to speak for if he did, something stupid would escape his mouth again.
James and you went through your cottage, collecting anything of importance and essentials, before apparating back to Headquarters, leaving the cottage in the state it was in case someone came back.

When friends help you get the girl
A Remus Lupin love story
Remus struggles to ask you out and James tries to help. When Remus doesn't want to tell you he's a werewolf Sirius takes the blame. And Peter makes sure you spend some extra time together.
Not really a request, but I got two Remus related asks and I took that as a hint. First time writing for Remus, so I hope I did it right. Furthermore, atm I'm not working through my request chronological bc I was in the mood for a few short things, before I start on the bigger ones. Anyways, I hope you likey and per usual happy readings!
Warning: none, a bit flirty at the end
I. James intervenes
Remus was staring, no, he was ogling you as you walked in front of him and James snickers at his love struck friend. “Mate, you gotta stop staring and just talk to her.” Remus looks absolutely horrified at his friend’s advice. “Yeah, that might work for you, but I’m not doing that.” Remus argues and James chuckles. “So what’s your plan of action then? Stare at her… and hope for what?” Remus sighs. “I’m not staring… and nothing has to happen.” Remus drags his eyes away from you embarrassed at James' accusation. A mischievous smirk tugs on James’ lips as Remus’ eyes land back on you when you laugh at something Marlene says. Without Remus catching on James’ hand moves to his wand and he casts a little spell that causes a soft breeze to lift up your skirt, making you yelp and turn around.
You notice Remus, who’s just smiling at you like a fool, and James who’s pointing at Remus telling you he’s the culprit. You frown at Remus and only then Remus realises James is pointing at him. Remus’ face fills with panic and he takes a step towards you. “No, no, it wasn’t me.” James laughs and Remus gets even more flustered. You grab your wand and James realises it’s time for him to run, leaving you with Remus. “I know it wasn’t you. I know you.” You reassure Remus as he watches James run around a corner, but he quickly looks back at you. “You do?” Remus asks, surprised by your answer since the two of you haven’t talked a lot. You smile at Remus’ surprised look. “Yes. Some people you just know from the moment you meet them.” The beautiful and genuine smile on your lips makes Remus relax.
***
Remus returns to the common room and spots a grinning James sitting next to Peter and Sirius. “So, when’s the date, mate?” Remus chuckles at his friend’s question. “No date. We just talked. She is still after you for what you did by the way.” Sirius and Peter aren’t impressed and James just looks annoyed with Remus. “I took a risk blowing her skirt like that, but I took that risk because I thought you would take your chance and ask her out.” Remus gets flustered, because now everyone’s staring at him. “Guys, I’m not asking her out.” Sirius huffs. “Lame.” Peter shakes his head in disappointment and James looks almost mad, but they decide to drop the subject.
II. Sirius takes the blame
You had your suspicions. The injuries and always after a full moon, and there was also the nickname Moony, but you were sure when you had overheard the four friends whisper about werewolves. However, when you asked subtle questions hoping Remus would tell you something he always changed the subject or denied it, lying to your face how nothing was going on.
You had been understanding up until now, but today you’d had enough. As soon as Lily told you that Remus was in the hospital wing again you marched over there. Not to say you looked angry, but people moved aside when they saw you approaching.
When you spot Remus laying in bed all bruised and cuts on his face you calm down a little, not wanting to yell at him since he’s hurt, so you decide to play it smart. Unaware of you approaching, Remus laughs at something Sirius is joking about. “Hi.” You announce yourself with a sweet voice and Remus looks up startled to see you were here again for him. You had visited him every time he had ended up there and every time he had to come up with a lame excuse. She must think I’m the clumsiest guy alive. Ugh, I’ve got to come up with a better excuse. Something tough and manly. Remus smiles. “Hi.” You take a seat on his bed and grab his hand. “Tripped and fell down the stairs again?” You ask with a concerned voice and Sirius struggles to hide a chuckle, making your eyes dart to him for a second, before focussing on Remus again. Remus swallows and scans the room searching for a good excuse, when his eyes land on Sirius. “I got in a fight with Sirius.” He suddenly blurs and Sirius looks absolutely horrified at the accusation.
You tilt your head and raise an eyebrow. “You got in a fight… with Sirius?” Remus nods, thinking his answer has you thinking he’s a strong tough guy, but you're not impressed by his lying nor his lame excuse. “So Sirius beat you up? But now your friends again?” Your eyes move between both Gryffindors and both nod hesitantly. Your eyes widen at their act and amused you cross your arms. “Why?” Remus shakes his head at your question. “What do you mean why?” You narrow your eyes at Remus. “Why did you two idiots fight?” You clarify and Remus frowns as he tries to come up with an answer. Worst liar ever. You roll your eyes. “Sirius got drunk.” Remus suddenly yells, happy he found an explanation. You frown and look over at a shocked Sirius, who then turns to you staring for a few seconds before picking up on the act. “Yeah. Sooo drunk. And then I punched him hard. And threw him off the stairs.” A nervous chuckle leaves Sirius and you sigh.
“Remus! Stop lying!” You yell suddenly and Sirius takes a step back in surprise. Remus’ smile falls as he realises he was fooling himself thinking you would fall for the stupid lie. “Fine you figured it out.” Remus admits and you sigh relieved that he’s done lying. “I have been keeping a secret… I’m... an animagus.” Your eyes turn stern and sigh annoyed with him. “No Remus, you’re a werewolf.” You state and look to meet his eyes, but he avoids your gaze, feeling ashamed of what he is and also because he was caught in a lie. You shake your head with sad eyes. “Why would you keep something so big from me? You know me, I would never judge you for something like that.” Sirius slowly and quietly moves back, giving the two of you space.
Remus sighs defeated and he knows he has to admit everything, you deserve the truth. “I know we would still be friends, but I don’t want to be just your friend. I wanted to be the perfect guy… for you.” He still doesn't dare meet your eyes, but you continue to watch him. “Remus.” You whisper and smile, leaning a bit closer. “You are perfect. And not despite being a werewolf, but because you are one.” Your statement makes him meet your eyes, confused about what you’re trying to say. “Your compassion, your strength, your loyalty, your gentleness towards everyone and everything is because of who you are as a whole and what you live through. I think every scar makes you look even more pure and perfect.”
There’s a silence as Remus processes your words, but you mistake this silence for rejection. “I’m sorry if I made you feel like you weren’t enough, when you are more than I can wish for.” At those words Remus closes the last bit of space between you two and hesitantly he opens his mouth. “No, no. I was being a coward, you’ve been nothing but good to me and you make me so happy. Please. I should’ve been honest with you. I just- I-.” Feeling encouraged by his words, you reach for his shaky hands. “Kiss me, Remus.” You whisper and his heart stops beating for a few seconds, before he nods making you smile as he nervously moves so his nose gently brushes yours, before your lips meet for a tender kiss.
III. Peter has a plan
At the Hufflepuff party certain Gryffindors are up to no good. “Ingenious!” James whispers excited with Peter’s plan. “This will definitely work.” Sirius adds, making you and Remus frown as you approach the trio. “What are you up to?” You ask, making them jump and turn around with guilty faces. “Up to?” Sirius asks immediately followed by James saying “Nothing.” to which Remus narrows his eyes at Peter who smiles “Good.”. You roll your eyes and look at Remus. “Let’s get a drink.” The three guilty guys give the two of you an awkward thumbs up as you walk away chuckling. “Your friends are idiots.” You joke and Remus raises his brows. “Tell me about it.”
***
“Spin the bottle!” Someone yells and even though you hadn’t seen Peter, James or Sirius since you arrived they suddenly appeared out of nowhere and forced you both to participate in the silly game. “(y/n) begins.” Peter urges, pointing at the bottle in front of you. You’re hesitant because you really aren’t in the mood to kiss anyone that isn’t your boyfriend, but you give in to peer pressure anyway and spin the bottle. You’re overjoyed when it lands on Remus and you instantly shuffle a little closer to your flustered boyfriend. You loved how in public he would still get nervous around you and you bite your lip adoring his sweet smile as you go stand on your tiptoes.
However, your sweet moment is ruined when Peter and Sirius push you. “That way, both of you. No need to do that business when you’re in public.” You notice James holding a door open and signalling for you to get in the room. “I thought we were playing spin the bottle.” Remus argues confused as his friends guide the both of you to the room. “We’re playing the extended version.” Sirius explains. “Yes, 70 minutes in heaven.” Peter adds and you frown at the number. “It’s 7 minutes.” You correct and Peter snorts. “No, 70 is better, no need to rush things. It’s your first time, so take your time.” Your mouth drops, but you’re already in the room and with a grin James closes the door and locks it. Stunned, you turn on your heels to face your boyfriend who’s nervously biting his thumb. “I might’ve told them that we hadn’t gotten around to… uhm, things.”
You raise your brows and smile. “You told… Sirius, James and Peter that we haven’t had sex yet and you expected them to be normal about it.” Remus chuckles nervously. “Their stupid is affecting me.” You laugh at his innocent face and he takes a step towards you, cupping your cheek. “I’m so sorry you have to put up with them.” You meet his lips, kissing him tenderly. “You are worth all the trouble they cause.” Your forgivingness is met with a sweet kiss. “I love you.” Remus whispers and you happily wrap your arms around his neck. “I love you too.” His hands move to your hips pulling you closer, brushing his lips over yours again. “We are stuck here for 70 minutes…” You whisper, lips barely removed from his. “I’m sure we can break the spell.” Remus says, eyes moving towards the door, thinking of possible spells. “Yeah, the stupid is definitely rubbing off on you.” You roll your eyes and it takes Remus only a few seconds to catch on.
“Did I just accidently reject my girlfriend?” He asks with a slight panic in his voice and you give him an obvious look. “You better make this up to me.” You tease and Remus grins. “Don’t mind if I do.” In an instant his lips are back on yours, hands exploring every curve of your body.

A Week Too Long || Remus Lupin
Summary: Request - As always I have another request. Can do you a small thingy of Remus x sleepy reader? Like just always tired and would rather nap together than go out. Maybe she falls asleep at breakfast and then the rest of the marauders go looking for them two and find them napping in bed together? Just something cute and simple about cuddles and being sleepy together 💕💕
A/N: I love sweet and soft Remus. Thank you for the request @loving-and-dreaming !!
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Y/N
Word Count: 1.6k+
It had been another night of rather tragic sleep. It happened every year when you got back to Hogwarts. It’s like your brain failed to comprehend what the hell sleep was. You didn’t know if it was the excitement of being back and being around everybody again, the nerves for a new school year, your worry for your werewolf boyfriend or what had you up all night, but sleep evaded you for the better part of it.
“Hey.” Marlene giggled waving a hand in front of your face, “Are you even listening to me?”
Your glazed over eyes snapped back into focus, “Sorry Marls.” You sighed, “I didn’t sleep well last night.”
She frowned, “Again?” Looping her arm with yours she guided you along the corridor towards the Great Hall.
“Every year.” You shrugged bringing your hands up to your eyes. You tried to rub the sleepiness away, but it didn’t seem to help much. Your eyelids felt like cinder blocks that kept wanting to be dragged down and down.
“What’s that about anyway?” She asked spotting your friends from the doorway.
You let a yawn out before answering her, “I dunno. Think I just got to get used to it again. I’ll be fine in a few days.”
She all but dragged you over to the table. You felt like you were going to fall asleep with your eyes open at this rate, “Remus, your girlfriend.” Marlene unhooked herself from you before bouncing off to sit somewhere else. Did she just drop you off with your boyfriend?
“Darling,” His smile dropped when he saw your state, “Sit down, what’s wrong?” Shooting up from his seat he made you sit down with a gentle touch. You were so tired you hadn’t heard the snickers from his, and now your, friends from behind you.
“Rem, I’m fine. Just tired.” You let out another yawn. Your brain desperate for some oxygen to wake you the hell up.
“Yeah Remy, she’s fine.” James teased turning his voice up an octave earning a glare from Remus as he sat back down next to you.
“Bugger off James.” Remus turned back to you making sure to flip his friend off in the process.
“Didn’t know Remus had it in him.” Sirius just had to add in. He leaned forward on the table, an amused expression gracing his lips as his eyes bounced between the two of you. The two of you were nothing new, having been going strong for over two years now. Naturally, you’d grown quite close with his shithead friends that you really did love. They were everything and more for Remus and that meant to the world to you. An incredible human loved by more incredible humans.
You peaked over giving him a broad smile, “James, Sirius, Peter… lovely to see you all again. How was your holiday?” You asked to nobody in particular letting out another yarn trying your darndest to keep your eyes open.
Without hesitation, Remus guided your head to his shoulder. He should’ve known. He saw you like this last year and you’d always mentioned how the start of the year left you sleepless.
“It was fine.” James grinned seeing the soft side of his long-time werewolf friend come out. James would never admit it, but he dreamed of a relationship like the two of yours. The two of you were each other’s safe spaces. You told each other everything. You also gave the other person enough space to grow and flourish on their own. Only pulling them back when they needed it.
Sirius nodded turning back to you. His smile grew into a sneaky little grin seeing your eyes close on Remus’ shoulder, “Let’s just say I’m glad to be back. And she looks like she is too.” You felt Remus’ hands run through your hair. You just knew he was throwing a glare at his best friend. Probably telling him to shut the hell up. Remus always made sure to put you first, even in front of his friends. It never ceased to make your heart swell with the utmost love.
You smiled letting the group know you heard them. Truth was you were glad to be back. You were more than thrilled to be back with your best friends and boyfriend. How cool was it that you got to spend the next ten months with them? Coming from a muggle home the concept of Hogwarts never ceased to amaze you. You were more than thankful for everything your life had thrown at you, no matter how stressful being twelve was. Imagine, you thought you knew the world and then you were thrown into an entirely new one.
“When the bell rings what do you say we skip potions and go take a nap instead?” He asked whispering into your ear
You opened an eye looking right at in not knowing if you heard him right, “Did my studious boyfriend just suggest skipping class?” You soft smile turned into one much wider knowing you’d corrupted him down to the core in the most innocent way possible. Sleep and snuggles were now his weakness. You, sleep and snuggles was all he needed to survive in this world.
He nodded quickly peaking his eyes back at his oblivious friends, “Slughorn probably won’t even notice love. Let’s get you nice and rested up for charms after lunch. How does that sound?” He gave your nose a quick kiss earning a gag from Peter and a snicker from James. Menaces, all of them.
You nodded almost breathless from the sheer intimacy of the moment, not even his friends could ruin it, “That sounds amazing Remy.” You nodded with the lightest touch of a blush on your cheeks. Even after all this time he still made you feel those butterflies like it was the first time all over again.
As if time was reading your mind the bell chimed letting students know it was time to get a start to their day. Remus waved off his friends letting them get a head start. He knew they wouldn’t get nervous until class started and the two of you didn’t show up. He knew their alone time was limited so the second they disappeared from the Great Hall he tapped your shoulder whispering, “Let’s go love, let’s get some sleep.” He pulled you up beside him softly before walking you back to the Gryffindor common room.
It was all a blissful blue of happiness up until you heard James’ obnoxious laugh echoing from the bubble Remus placed around you. Perks of having a genius boyfriend, he knew all the useful charms. You grinned seeing your boyfriend try and shush his loud roommates trying not to wake you up.
He looked back, his shoulders visibly deflated seeing your eyes open. You heard a faint, “You guys woke her up!” Before he cast the charm away with a simple flick.
“It’s our room too!” Sirius whined sitting down on the foot of his bed.
Peter nodded agreeing with his friend, “Yeah!”
You yawned stretching your arms out towards your boyfriend. A lopsided grin crossed his face seeing you reach out for him so needily. He obliged, walking towards you quickly. You nuzzled your head into his chest once he pulled you back into him, “It’s okay boys. I needed to get up anyhow.” The steady beat of Remus’ heart had other plans for you though. Your eyes shut again once he began running his hands through your hair letting you sink fully into him.
You didn’t notice that Remus cast the spell once more silencing you into a bubble once more. He shooed them out successfully letting you fall asleep for another little bit. Remus continued to stroke your hair smiling down at his sleepy girlfriend. He couldn’t believe how truly lucky he was to have you in his life. He planned to have you in it for a long, long time more now knowing he could do it. He could be a part time monster and you still loved him.
“Hi Remy.” You soft voice tore him away from his thoughts.
He looked down at you with a sweet smile, “Hi love, sleep okay?”
Nodding quickly, you answered him, “Better than I have in a while.”
Leaning down he kissed your temple, “Good.” He kissed you once more before continuing, “I missed you.”
You giggled, “it’s only been a week since I’ve seen you Rem.”
He shrugged, “A week too long.” He pulled you in closer to him. He smelled your hair always loving the scent of your shampoo. It always brought him comfort when he needed it most. The two of you had made it a point to see each other a few times throughout the summer when the other wasn’t traveling. Yes, he’d seen you a week ago, but it was too quick of a trip to your parents’ house. He wasn’t able to do this, no not at all. This was what he wanted and craved. You in his arms snoozing away. This was his version of heaven. You were the something he’d always dreamed of.
You nodded, “A week too long, indeed.”
He leaned down to capture your lips on his. His sweet kisses always seemed to catch you off guard. When he pulled away your cheeks were ablaze, pupils blown out in love, terribly breathless. Remus grinned seeing the state he left you in, “I love you, Y/N.”
“Love you so much Remy.” You grinned laying your head down on his chest once more letting him hold you. You knew he’d get you going for charms if he really wanted to. This too was your version of heaven and you too weren’t terribly keen on giving it up.

Grinch Young R.L. x GN!Reader
Warnings: swearing, mentions of depression, mentions of poverty, and just disliking Christmas
Word Count: 2.8k
Pairing: Young!Remus Lupin x Gender Neutral Gryffindor!Reader
Summary: Christmas was quickly approaching and everyone was excited but you. As the residential Grinch you were not looking forward to the holiday but turns out Remus Lupin is a Grinch as well.
A/N: Hello all! This is my first fic back after a break and I'm really glad to be back. Thank you to everyone who is still reading my stories and I love you all. Also this was inspired by my disliking of Christmas so I projected on the reader and Remus a smidge.

Christmas had exploded around Hogwarts. Pine trees were set up in just about every corner in every single room in the castle. Trees were taller than most of the students and covered in brightly colored baubles and tinsel and magic balls of light that changed color every minute. Garlands and wreaths covered the stone walls and the smell of gingerbread followed the students everywhere they went. The suits of armor broke out into Christmas songs and danced anytime someone passed by. The Great Hall was by far the most decorated part of Hogwarts with festive table runners, stockings hung on the fireplace, large real snowflakes on every surface enchanted to never melt, and the magical ceiling was snowing. It was horrible.
You had never been one to get into the Christmas spirit. The songs were annoying and wormed their way into your brain and never left. The decorations were everywhere and followed you around, literally while at Hogwarts. People were just insanely obsessed with Christmas and overly happy. They were happy to the point of it being creepy and fake and weird.
Possibly the worst was just how excited all of your friends seemed to be. James Potter, sunshine incarnate and your best friend, loved Christmas. He loved everything you hated about it. In fact, James had been talking about Christmas since the beginning of November and he never let you escape it.
“Happy 10th day of Christmas Y/N!” James’s bright and cheerful smile popped up between you and your book. The sudden appearance of his face made you jump, smacking him a little with your book.
“James! You absolute asshole! I’m trying to read.” You huffed and shoved him away as you tried to turn back to your book. The common room was quiet and the perfect place to read until now.
James only rolled his eyes and wedged himself into the miniscule space between you and the arm of the couch. “You know there is an entire couch open? Actually the whole common room is open but you had to sit practically on my lap?”
“Well yeah,” James chuckled as he tore the book out of your grasp and fully moved himself onto your lap. “I have to tell you what I want for Christmas! This year I want Lily Evans to date me.”
“Fat chance buddy. You’ve been wishing for that since you were 13. Give it a rest.” With one hard push, James fell off of your lap and onto the rug with a loud thud. “Besides, don’t you know you don’t get your Christmas wish if you tell it to the Grinch.”
James just looked at you with a wild smirk. “Then I suppose I’ll have to sing a song to reverse the curse!” He then burst into song, singing the Twelve Days of Christmas at the top of his lungs. You clamped your hands over your ears but nothing managed to block out the horrible sounds coming from James until the portrait opened and a figure sped by and body slammed James.
Sirius pulled James into a headlock while Peter quickly sprinted over and sat on James’s chest. “Please Prongs, we’ve talked about this. You can’t sing. Don’t ever try to do it again.” While James struggled to break free from Sirius and Peter, the fourth marauder sat in the open space next to you, his eyes already on his book.
You knew Sirius, Peter, and Remus but not like you knew James. Yes they were friends with your best friend but you never spoke to them unless it was for class or James made you. There was nothing wrong with the three of them. Actually, quite the opposite. You loved them and loved hearing stories about them but you never ran in the same circles. In fact, you didn’t see James as much as you used to either. You had grown up next door to him and as kids you two were always together. It’s not that you two aren’t friends anymore because clearly you are, you just don’t see him around as much.
James found Sirius, Remus, and Peter and never left them. You found your own friends and spent more time on your studies than James ever could. Sirius was fine and you waved to him in the halls. Peter would wave if he was with James or Sirius but not on his own. Remus never really acknowledged you. However, that never stopped you from looking at him. Since James had become friends with Remus Lupin, you were drawn to him. He was quiet just about all of the time but that didn’t mean he wasn’t sassy. You heard the way he would call out James and it was cutthroat. He was tall and handsome and rather mysterious in a way. Not to mention he was smart and was always seen with a book.
“Hey Grinch!” James's voice came from somewhere on the floor.
“What?” You and Remus both said. At the same time, you looked away from Remus as he looked away from his book to find James. Hearing Remus, you then looked at him while he looked at you.
For only a second, no one moved or spoke until James broke the silence. “Right, sorry. Forgot there’s two of ya. Moony?” Remus slowly tore his gaze away from yours to look at his friend who had continued speaking but you could hear none of it.
That was an interesting development. You had assumed James was talking to you since not only does he know about your distaste for Christmas but you called yourself Grinch not very long ago. But Remus also responded so Remus must also not be the biggest fan of Christmas. Otherwise, there would have been no reason for James to call him that or for him to respond.
The night slowly grew darker and while more and more students arrived in the common room, Remus never left the spot next to you. James, Sirius, and Peter eventually left to find some poor soul to bother but Remus remained, his nose still in his book. Honestly, it was making you a little nervous at this point. The man has hardly ever spoken to you since you were introduced back in third year. It's been three years since then and it wasn’t like you were much closer than before.
“You don’t like Christmas?” Remus mumbled, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye. He sounded almost disinterested.
“Yeah, I think it’s quite dumb to be honest.” You expected him to respond, like people usually do when having a conversation but he didn’t. He just hummed a little and went back to his book. “You don’t like it either?” If he wasn’t going to continue then maybe you would just have to make him. It brought almost a sense of hope thinking about the fact that maybe someone else wasn’t enjoying the season. You didn’t want someone to wallow around with but to have someone that wasn’t going to complain about your less than thrilled outlook would be really nice.
“I don’t. Never have.” Remus didn’t even bother taking his eyes off of his book as he answered. It could have been just your imagination but you thought you could just hardly see him smile. He suddenly closed his book and stood, his arm brushing yours in the process. Remus made it to the base of the stairs before he turned back around to look at you. “Hey Grinch.” As soon as you turned and he could see your face, he smiled. “See you later.”
---
At the Gryffindor table later that week, you had once again been minding your own business when James interrupted you. He sat across from you and smirked, reaching over to poke your arm. “Happy 14th day of Christmas, Grinch Number Two.”
“How come I’m the second?” You said with a roll of your eyes before you continued eating your breakfast.
“Because Remus is number one.” He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Well, I disagree. I knew you first.”
James hummed and shrugged. “I’ll take that into consideration. Did you talk to him after we all left?”
“Did you set that up James?” You asked with narrow eyes.
“No, I just simply called him the nickname I always give him this time of year which just so happens to be the same as yours and I assumed he would mention something about it to you after. Did he?” He leaned forward, eagerly awaiting your answer.
“Yes.” James let out a cheer at your answer, getting him some weird looks from the whole room since he was so loud. Before you could chastise him for being so loud and obnoxious, Remus sat next to you. Which was very odd since before last night, he’s never sat next to you.
Immediately, James got up and moved further down the table to bother Lily. “Are you going home for Christmas?” Remus asked as soon as James was out of earshot. “The final day to sign up to stay here is Saturday.”
“Will you be staying?” You asked.
Remus nodded. “I stay every year.” He opened his mouth and closed it a few times before he evidently decided he didn’t want to say anything and kept it shut.
You could have gone home and while it would have been nice to be with family, you never actually stayed at the castle for Christmas. Now might be a good chance to do it. “I think I’ll stay. I go home every year; my family can survive without me for one year.”
He smiled and started adding food to his plate. “I’m glad you’ll be staying.” You were too busy trying to hide the blush on your cheeks to notice the blush on his.
---
As the holiday neared closer and closer, everyone got happier and happier. Well, everyone but you and Remus. While James and Sirius, who were also staying at Hogwarts, were planning a Christmas party and singing songs, you and Remus bonded over the opposite.
His least favorite song was We Wish You a Merry Christmas, he thought Santa was beyond creepy, and he found the smell of pine to be overpowering. You sat together at meals and laughed at people who were wearing festive outfits. He made you smile as he made faces behind peoples’ backs as they gushed over holiday traditions. On more than one occasion, he shoved James into a pile of snow when he was being too cheery. Remus Lupin was bringing you a lot of joy this season and you were not the only one to notice it.
James made it a point to tell you that this was the happiest he had ever seen both of you around this time of year. In fact, it almost looked like you were enjoying Christmas. You had scoffed at that and then proceeded to shove him into some snow but he did have a point. Remus was making you really happy and it's hard to be a grinch when you’re happy.
But it was nice being happy around the holiday and it was even nicer that Remus was the one making you so happy. You always found him attractive and you knew he was smart and funny but now you got to know just how sweet he was. Yes, he was poking fun at other people but he was doing it purely for your entertainment. He admitted one night after you two had made fun of a particularly ugly Christmas sweater that he never does this; he just liked hearing you laugh. Which made your insides turn into jelly and you couldn’t stop smiling. You also learned that he liked the same books as you and he was so passionate about reading.
He was extremely loyal to his friends and would do anything for them. He wasn’t great at expressing his feelings but he tried his best to let the people close to him know they were loved. He was brutally honest especially when it came to James and Sirius; he was always telling them how stupid they looked or when they were acting like idiots. You felt like a cliche Christmas romance movie but you were falling in love.
---
It was Christmas Eve and James had insisted all seven of the Gryffindors who had stayed needed to sleep in the common room. It was a tradition you two used to have as kids. The night before Christmas you two would sleep on the floor in the living room in front of the tree; you kept up with that tradition until you went to Hogwarts.
Of course before that, there was a party. It was nothing insane like the parties Sirius and James threw after winning a Quidditch game but it was still a party. There were snacks, drinks, games, and Christmas music, much to yours and Remus’s disappointment. You mingled for a while, which is more than Remus could say. He sat on one of the loveseats and only moved to grab more snacks. James tried to get him to play pin the nose on Rudolph but it was easy to guess how that went. While you also didn’t join in on the festive games, you stayed to watch. Sirius managed to get the nose perfectly on Rudolph which made James accuse him of cheating to which Sirius tackled him for ‘insulting his honor’. He confessed to cheating ten minutes later.
Many more games went on like that and after the fifth one, you found Remus still on the loveseat. As you approached, he moved so there would be more space for you. You sat in silence for a while before he spoke up. “Why do you hate Christmas, really?”
You had told him once you didn’t like the music and yes that’s true but it's not the only reason. “I guess I just don’t like how happy people pretend to be. There’s real genuine happiness like James but so many people aren’t happy. Life is horrible and nothing is going right but as soon as it's December, they pretend. It's ok to be unhappy during the holidays; you don’t have to pretend life is perfect just because it's Christmas.” You looked at Remus only to find him watching you. “Can I ask why you don’t like Christmas?”
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I never really had a good Christmas. My mom really struggled to be happy around this time of year, especially after…”
“After you became a werewolf?” His eyes grew wide and he started to shake. “No one told me,” you whispered and put a hand on his arm to calm him. “You just were always missing on the full moon and sometimes the day after. I figured it out. I don’t think of you differently.”
Remus took a minute to process the fact that you knew his deepest secret before he continued his story. “Yes, after I was bitten my mother was horribly depressed around Christmas. I think it made her remember everything and she couldn’t be happy. It also was harder for my parents to get money after since no one really wanted to be around us. I saw my parents struggle all month to save money to get me a gift. My mother especially would go without dinner just to waste money on some stupid toy. After seeing that, well it makes it hard to like Christmas.”
Your hand found his and you intertwined your fingers with his. “I’m sorry Remus.”
He shrugged a little and watched your hand as his thumb stroked yours. “It isn’t your fault. Actually, you’ve made this the best Christmas I’ve ever had.” He smiled and looked up at you, his cheeks a dusty rose.
“You’ve made this my best Christmas as well.” It was then something bumped your head, causing you to look up. Behind the loveseat was James who had tied some mistletoe to a stick and was holding it over your head. Remus followed your gaze and sighed, rolling his eyes. “We don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“Do you want to?” Remus whispered. You knew James could hear every word you were saying despite him pretending not to listen but you didn’t really care.
“Yes.” You hardly finished the word before Remus leaned down and brought his lips to yours. Immediately your arms wrapped around his neck and brought him closer if it was even possible. His hands found your waist, lips moving against yours in perfect sync. Unfortunately, the kiss had to end so you could breathe.
Remus nudged your nose with his. “Now it’s the best Christmas ever.”

The Marauders-Love Languages
AN: excited for my first bit of writing to be up! forgot to mention but I'm an english major so this is also just good practice for me anyways (and an opportunity to be lax with my grammar, shh, don't tell my professor!). the valkyries version of this should be up soon, probably tomorrow as it's 1 a.m. and I've lost steam lol. hope you all enjoy!
-starly ☆
Remus J. Lupin
Quality time.
Moony loves to curl up with a good book and his lover nearby. His idea of heaven is silently doing his revision in an armchair in the common room while his friends run about causing utter mayhem.
“Oi, James give it back!”
“Catch me if you can, Evans!”
James runs from Lily, book in hand as she chases after him trying to get her belongings. Meanwhile Sirius and Peter are sprawled out on the floor scratching their heads at arithmancy.
“Pete are you sure that's right?”
“Er, no actually, I’m not…”
Marlene and Mary sit on the couch holding hands and giggling to each other.
“Marls! Are you serious?”
Marlene raises her right hand and places it over her heart.
“Yeah, swear on m'life.”
Remus relaxes into the armchair, smiling contently to himself as you approach, sitting on the arm of the chair. He wraps his arm around your waist, nuzzling his face into your side as he sighs contently.
"You okay Moony?"
"Just fine lovely, just fine."
Peter J. Pettigrew
Physical touch.
Wormtail loves to shift down to rat size and doze off in his lover's pocket. He doesn't mind staying normal size either, after all, it's quite hard to hold someone as a rat.
Peter sighs gently as you lie on his chest.
“Alright, dearest?”
You sit upright to make eye contact with him.
“All good. How long d'you think we have before the boys come back?”
“Hopefully a long, long, ti-”
“SIRIUS ORION BLACK NEXT TIME YOU KNOCK ME OFF MY BROOM-”
You jump up suddenly from Peter as the door swings open and a blur of black hair comes speeding in.
“IT WAS AN ACCIDENT MATE!”
Sirius O. Black
Words of affirmation.
After years of being degraded by Waburga Black, Padfoot loves nothing more than a good bit of praise. Confirmation that he can do something right, that he does, something right, goes a long way for him.
“Come on love, try it again.”
Sirius groans, dropping his head down onto the mattress.
“I'm telling you, I can't do it. I've tried over and over and it just doesn't bloody work!”
You grab Sirius’ hands, looking deeply into his eyes.
“Pads, you can do it. I know it's a hard spell but just concentrate, breathe. You're so incredibly smart, you could be head of our year if you pulled a few less pranks per week. I know you can do it.”
Sirius’ eyes soften and he relaxes a bit, taking a deep breath, and murmuring the incantation. His magic feels electric as it courses through the air. As the spell ends you look to see he’s smiling brightly. Sirius drops his wand, tackling you onto the bed in a fit of giggles.
“You’re bloody brilliant!”
“Me? You’re the one doing the advanced magic!”
“Yeah, but I couldn’t have done it without you. You’re my muse, I think.”
“I better be.”
James F. Potter
Physical touch.
Prongs doesn’t know any other way to live. Won a quidditch game? Arms immediately thrown round you. Aced an exam? Lifts you up and spins you around. Successful prank? He may as well have tackled you.
James’ breath tickled the back of your neck as you stood front-to-back underneath the invisibility cloak. James had found a sticking charm to cast on the floor, while Remus and Sirius crawled off to the dungeons to lure the slytherins out. You however, had done the most important part, levitating buckets of sludge collected from the bottom of the lake. Holding onto the spell was a bit taxing, but it would all be worth it.
“You got it darling?”
You shifted on your heels a bit.
“Yeah, just a bit tired.”
“D’you want me to hold the buckets?
“No no it’s alright, I don’t know the sticking charm anyways.
“Hopefully the lads don’t take much longer, I-”
Suddenly loud footsteps came bounding down the hallway, and Remus and Sirius came flying around the corner.
“Now James!”
James cast the sticking charm and up ahead, Snape, Barty, and Regulus could no longer move. James steps from beneath the cloak, pulling it off of you as well and laughing loudly.
“Alright Prongs,” Sirius laughed boisterously, “Got the spell down just right.”
“Better bloody have, took me ages. Love? Ready?”
You grinned wickedly.
“Ready.”
You finally relax as the buckets tip, spilling out their content onto the floor, and slowly floating to the ground. Snape, Barty, and Regulus are completely covered in the sludge, and now stuck to the ground and unable to run.
James throws his arms around you, swaying widely, and a feeling of overwhelming warmth and love spreads through you
“Merlin’s beard! My brilliant partner does it again!”
You laughed, trying to shrug James off.
“Get off me you lousy git!”
Remus is stood nearby, leaning on Sirius as they smile at you and James, and the three boys trapped in the hall scowled fiercely.
“Sirius I swear I’ll tell mother if you don’t remove this charm right now!”
The black haired boy probably would have stood in the hallway all night laughing forever if Remus hadn’t begun to drag him away. Another one for the books you thought, as Prongs slung an arm around your shoulder, holding you close as you snuck off to your next bout of mischief

Prompt 18 - Pet
@jegulus-microfic February 18 Word count 848
Previous part First part
“I don’t know what you mean.” Regulus’s fingers moved towards his wand.
“Reg, you forget I was there when you were with James at Hogwarts. I’ve also seen what Remus’s fists can do. Those bruises were perfect. Admit it, you basically just had a week’s holiday with your honey bun while we planned a fight.” Evan hadn’t even batted an eyelid. He looked so calm. Regulus was shitting himself.
“So? What are you going to do about it?” Regulus’s emotionless mask was firmly in place, but he could hear his heart pounding in his ears.
“Nothing,” Evan shrugged. “You saved Barty. If you’re going behind the Dark Lords’s back to hang out with a bunch of know order members, you must have a good reason why.”
“I really was captured. Sirius appeared when we were taking the supply house and ambushed us. He tied me up and took out the others.” He felt the need to explain. Evan was his oldest friend, and he’d always had a way of getting Regulus to spill his guts. “That mad Auror, Moody, tortured me for a while but gave up when I didn’t talk.”
“So they used Potter against you?” Evan interrupted. Regulus nodded.
“Yeah, him and Sirius.” He paused, debating on telling him the rest. “Dumbledore came to see me.”
“Shit Reg.” Evan gaped.
“He told me either I help them or they’d send me to Azkaban.”
“So what are you doing for them then?” Evan questioned.
“Information. They want to know who’s saying what and any major plans that come up. Are you going to give me away?” He had to as. He couldn’t leave without knowing if he was safe or not.
“No, Reg. I won’t say anything.” Evan sighed and dragged a hand through his hair as he mulled something over. “Contrary to popular belief, I don’t actually care about what Voldemort and that lot believe. I only got this thing,” He held up his left arm, letting his sleeve fall to reveal the snake and skull tattoo that matched Regulus’s own. “Because my father forced me. If I’d had a choice in the matter, I’d probably have taken Barty and Pan and gone to France or something.” He shrugged, not bothered at sharing the information that would sign his death warrant if Voldemort heard him. Regulus gave him a sad smile.
“Same here.” Evan snorted.
“Wow, our parents are dicks.” They both burst into laughter. “Are you getting immunity out of it if that side wins?” Evan asked, looking like he really wanted to know the answer.
“Yeah, if I give them enough good information,” Regulus told him truthfully.
“Do you think they’d do the same for me and Barty if I help you?” Evan shuffled nervously.
“I can ask. If I ask James, he’ll do everything he can.” He couldn’t quite believe that Evan had felt the way he did. That was the curse of the mark. Everyone was too scared to say what they really felt in case it got back to Voldemort. Because he’d just have them disposed of, he had plenty of followers to replace those he had killed.
They walked back through to Evans's bedroom, closer than they had been before, a new bond firmly formed.
They were greeted upon their return by a grumpy Barty and a mass of silver-blonde hair.
Pandora, Evan’s twin sister, was sitting on the bed next to Barty, patting him on the head like a disgruntled pet.
“Evan, she’s doing it again,” Barty complained as he tried to evade Pandora’s hand.
“Oh, don’t be silly, Barty. You love it when I pet you.” Pandora said, smiling happily at him. “Here, have a chocolate frog.” She passed him the treat. Barty appeared somewhat appeased. At least he didn’t complain again.
“What do you want, Pan?” Evan asked. She stood from the bed and floated over to them, her feet bare.
“Father wants to speak with you. Hi Reg,” She added as she wrapped her arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his cheek. He could feel the oily residue left from her lipstick. There’d be a perfect lip mark on his face.
“Hello, Pandora. How are you?” He asked her politely. He tensed when she snuggled her head into his neck.
“Oh, you know, bored. You boys all get to go out and have fun, and I have to be the perfect Rosier princess and sit in my ivory tower.” She sighed dramatically.
“Oh, shut up, Pan, we all know you sneak you’re girlfriend in here all the time.” Evan teased his sister. Pandora winked at him and removed herself from Regulus’s neck.
“I’ll leave you alone. Goodbye, darling.” She waved at Barty and blew him a kiss before smiling wickedly at Evan as she left.
“I swear if she didn’t keep me in such a good supply of sweets, I’d find her very annoying.” Barty grumped as he licked melted chocolate from his fingers. “So, Reg.” He said, looking up at Regulus and sucking a final finger. “You a spy then or what?”

you squeezed remmy's hand and tried not to bite your nails or nervously scratch your arms.
"y' alrigh' love?" remmy asked, squeezing your hand back. you just nodded and walked a little bit faster past the shop, remus matching your pace.
you slowed down and let out a breath. remus looked at you as if to ask "you sure you're okay?" to which you just nodded again.
"i'm fine remus. just saw... um, someone from school. just didn't wanna run into them is all," you lied.
he looked at you questioningly but let it go.
but once you saw the toy store it seemed everything was going to trigger your regression.
"i... need to use the toilet." you told remus, letting go of his hand. "i'll be back."
remus nodded and smiled. "alright. i have a store to go to that i'm not sure you'll like. i'll do that and be right back."
you smiled at your boyfriend and went to the bathroom, trying to keep yourself big. big kid thoughts. like taxes.
you came out after a few minutes and remus was outside, as he said he would be, with a paper bag in his hand.
"what'cha got there?" you asked. even though he said you wouldn't like the store you were still curious.
"nothing darling. how about some ice cream?" he suggested. "it's the best ice cream in london darling." he said excitedly. "just a scoop then we'll go back t'mine yeah?"
you smiled at his excitement and nodded in agreement. "alright. i can go for some ice cream." you agreed.
you and remus got your ice creams from florean fortescue and made your way back to his house. you two took the tube in london, taking it as far as you were allowed, and walked the rest of the way to his house in the country.
it wasn't too terrible a trip but you nervously tried to stop yourself from regressing. you were quieter than usual and remus noticed.
he draped an arm over your shoulders and squeezed your arm a bit. you're safe with me.
his parents weren't home, for which you were grateful, and you sat on his bed with him.
"y'know..." he started slowly. "i got you something while we were in diagon alley.
you were confused because he didn't say anything. "oh, remus... i didn't get you anything."
he shook his head and handed you the paper bag. "don't worry about that. i just... um... i think you should open it." he nodded toward the bag.
he seemed nervous about your reaction as you opened it. you kept an eye on remus as you opened the back and gasped at the stuffie remus bought for you.
it was the softest little niffler plush, as well as the cutest. "i love it remmy!" you squealed, nearly tackling your boyfriend to the ground.
"you gonna name it?" he asked. oh he knew what he was doing now... and you absolutely loved it!
you sat back on his bed and shrugged. "mmm, i dunno. wet's name 'im together." you smiled. remus sat next to you and draped an arm across your shoulders.
"hm..." remus tapped a finger against his chin in mock thought. "well, let's think. what are some of your absolute favorite things in the whole world?"
you made a face. "in da whole wide worl'?" you asked, to which remmy nodded. "wet's name 'im... remmy."
"remmy sounds like a good name, i like it."
"it's yours silly goose!" you giggled.
"mine?" he asked. "why, i've never heard it."
"silly goose."
"just know, it's okay little love. i still love you."
your little lip wobbled and you squeezed remus as hard as you could. "tanks 'emmy. luv u so so mush."
"i love you too."

Wolfstar Microfic - Stronger
Words: 627
@wolfstarmicrofic
This was written as a response to multiple people asking what Remus did in fourth year after the Moon-Grumpy fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/58156276) but it can also be read as a stand alone!
🌙✨🌙✨🌙
The first time Remus tried firewhisky, he hated it. It was stronger than he expected, and within half an hour he was good and tipsy, and tipsy Remus liked to talk.
James, equally tipsy, found this fascinating. He was so used to Remus holding himself back. It was like getting to see a whole new side of him, and it was so endearing.
“What are we doing for Hogsmeade next week? I need to go to Honeydukes. Need.” Remus said, lying on his bed with his eyes closed. Pete had gone to throw up, and Sirius had been dared to sit on Marlene’s lap for fifteen minutes, half an hour ago.
“You not going with Em?” James was propped against his trunk, grinning.
Remus laughed softly, “No, I’m not.”
“Is she busy?” James asked. “Too busy for you?”
“Nah.” Remus paused, “We broke up.”
“You what?!” James yelled. “When did this happen?”
“About two hours ago.” Remus wanted to curl up into a ball, roll off the bed and roll away into the distance where James wasn’t about to interrogate him about his failed relationship.
“Moony! What the fuck?” James crawled across the room to sit next to Remus’ bed. “Are you alright?”
Remus shrugged, “Yeah, I think so. I didn’t see it coming, but I’m also… I don’t know. I thought I’d be more bothered.”
James studied his face, “So, what happened?”
“Oh, we just… drifted apart, I guess.” Remus wished he was having this conversation sober. It would be so much easier to lie sober.
“Well, that’s bullshit, because she was up here reading with you last night.” James continued to stare at him. “So what really happened?”
“She noticed something about me, and it bothered her. When she asked me about it, I didn’t deny it, so she broke up with me.”
“Is this— Moony did she— She dumped you because you’re a werewolf?”
Remus spluttered and sat up, “No, of course not! Jesus Christ, Prongs! She dumped me because I’m in love with Sirius.” James blinked at him, as the realisation of what he’d just said dawned on Remus’ face. “Oh. Oh no, no. Wait—”
“You are?” Remus didn’t know what he’d expected, but it wasn’t James looking at him like he’d just announced the birth of a child. He said nothing. “Moony?”
Remus nodded slowly, “I think so.”
“Since when?” James looked way too happy about this. Remus had so many regrets. He wondered if there was a nomadic tribe in Mongolia that would accept a werewolf. Probably not. They’d never trust a wolf around the sheep.
“Maybe since forever. I don’t really know.” Remus rolled his eyes as James let out an excited yelp. “It doesn’t bother you?”
“That you fancy Pads and not me?” James grinned, “Well, there’s no accounting for taste, mate.”
“Tosser.” He muttered, “No, that I’m … queer?”
“Oh, that? No, of course not.” James tried to stand up unsuccessfully.
“And you won’t tell him, right? You won’t tell anyone?”
“I reserve the right to tell this story on two occasions. When you start dating, and when I’m the best man at your wedding. The two of you have to duel to see who gets me.” James managed to hold onto the bedpost and was finally on his feet.
“When?”
“Pads could do a lot worse than you.” James shrugged. “And you could do a lot better than Pads.”
“Thank you?” Remus squinted at him. “Firewhisky is fucking lethal.”
At that moment, Sirius burst into the room with a purple hickey blooming on his neck. “Good evening!”
James looked at Remus sympathetically before turning to indulge Sirius in whatever bullshit he was about to announce. Remus sighed, back to pretending.

ensure, april 6 -- @jegulus-microfic -- 1,336 words
idk how i feel about this one, but i like it and had fun writing it, which is the main thing ofc.
i'm also thinking that this might be part one to a series where the next few prompts will be something related to this. got a few ideas in the works. they will be appropriately labelled when the time comes should anyone gets confused :)
content warnings: kissing, brief mentions of sex but nothing like obvious; i literally just tell you they shagged and that's it. no description of it lol
----
Sometimes James thinks that when his dad handed down the invisibility cloak to him, he expected him to use it for something important. Defeating the powers of evil, conquering the darkness, battling dragons or trolls, or other epic things James can’t be bothered to think of right now.
Certainly not sneaking around the castle with Regulus, the both of them huddled up underneath it, trying to be quiet as they head back to the Gryffindor dormitories.
“Are you sure they won’t notice?” Regulus whispers. He’s walking in front as he’s smaller than James, and James can see the corridor a bit over his head, warped slightly through the cloak.
“Yeah, I promise,” James replies. “Sirius sleeps like a log. Not even shaking and throwing things at him wakes him up. Peter will be out like a light too. Remus … might be awake. He’s probably reading actually, but he won’t say anything. As long as you’re back in your room by eight tomorrow, it’ll be fine.”
“And that’s tried and tested, is it?”
“What?”
“Tried and tested. That we can throw things at my brother, and he won’t wake up?” Regulus grins slyly over his shoulder, and James has to smirk.
“This is dangerous, you know,” he continues, stopping in the corridor, turning around to face James. “If Sirius finds out …”
“He won’t,” James jumps to assure him, gently taking hold of Regulus’ shoulders.
Regulus has been worrying about Sirius discovering their relationship since they started dating almost two months ago now. What had started as a mistaken, drunken kiss after a Slytherin party had slowly morphed and turned into … this. Sneaking around after hours, brief snatches of glances at each other across tables in the Great Hall, kissing and the occasional shag if they had time in storage cupboards between classes.
And now, James is bringing Regulus, Sirius’ brother, back to his room, because he wants to hold him in his arms for longer than a few minutes, find out what it’s like to share a bed with someone he loves. He’s worried too, of course he is, but Regulus has been most vocal about it.
It’s been a topic that’s cropped up more often than not as they’re timing their exits from storage cupboards so no one sees them, tucking their shirts back into their trousers and sorting out their hair. Regulus will fret, “What if my brother finds out?” or, “What if someone sees us?” and James, pressing a kiss to his cheek, will murmur, “They won’t, love. We’re okay. If they do, we’ll just … talk about. What’s the worst that could happen? We’ll deal with it together, okay?” In reassuring Regulus, James reassures himself too.
When Remus found out, that’s what they did. Told him together, and … he couldn’t care less. He promised to keep it a secret until they were ready to say something, though he cautioned them to soon because it’s only a matter of time before it got out. But they’re careful.
“He won’t find out,” he repeats. “Tomorrow’s Sunday, anyway. He won’t get up until breakfast is almost over, at least.”
“Okay, if you’re sure,” Regulus says, and he sounds like he’s coming round, especially when he rises up on his toes and kisses James.
Even though they’re in the corridor, probably one of the worst places to snog in the whole of Hogwarts, the invisibility cloak gives them some sense of privacy as James gently backs Regulus against the wall.
“James,” Regulus says, giggling as James peppers his jaw with kisses. “We’re in the hallway.” Yet he makes no move to push him away, only pull him closer.
“So? You started this, Reggie,” James points out, moving down to Regulus’ neck. He finds his pulse, gently mouthing it, earning a sharp intake of breath in return. “You, and your infuriating, maddening, pretty little mouth—”
There’s a noise at the end of the corridor. Regulus flinches, grabbing hold of James’ clothes as James tears his lips from his skin. Turning to see what it is, he tenses, holding his breath.
Professor McGonagall, dressed in a robe, with her arms partially crossed and a mug of tea in her hand, stands there. She’s staring in their general direction, eyebrows pinched in suspicion.
James curses softly under his breath. Did she hear them? They weren’t being loud, were they? They’re always so careful, always aware of their surroundings. But had they got carried away?
“Who is— oh fuck.” Regulus sighs, his mouth forming a hard line as he spots McGonagall. “What the fuck do we do? She’s going to dock us house points for being out of bed.”
“Maybe she’s just patrolling,” James hisses. “She can’t see us. If we just—”
“I know you’re there,” McGonagall calls. “Show yourself now, and the punishment won’t be as harsh.”
James presses his lips together, shaking his head. They’re so fucked, facing detention or worse, yet Regulus just looks more annoyed than frightened, upset that their snogging session has been cut short.
But McGonagall loves James, and he knows this. He’s hoping, as he presses a finger to his lips, that Regulus will get it and remain silent, letting James take the fall for them. He starts to back up, and Regulus, glaring, clocks on instantly to his plans.
“James, don’t you—”
“Sorry, Professor,” James says, ducking out from the cloak and silencing Regulus with a hand over his mouth. He sees Regulus’ outraged look before the cloak falls over him, and James adjusts his position to hide him, flashing a smile at McGonagall. “You caught me.”
His head of house frowns, peering down her glasses at him. “Why am I not surprised that it is you, Mr Potter?”
James shrugs, as if he doesn’t know himself, and McGonagall resumes, “On your own this evening? No Mr Black, or Mr Lupin or Pettigrew with you?”
It’s an effort to keep a straight face when McGonagall says Mr Black; although she means Sirius, it’s not entirely far from the truth that James does have a Mr Black with him. Just not the one she’s thinking of. A different star in an entirely different constellation.
“Nope. Just me,” he says.
McGonagall doesn’t look like she believes him, but she doesn’t dispute his claim, staring at him disapprovingly. “Hm. What are you doing out of bed then?”
Underneath the cloak, James can feel Regulus breathing through his nose, the contours of his lips beneath his palm. It’s distracting, if he’s honest, especially when, Merlin save him, Regulus starts kissing his hand.
“Um. I’m … walking,” he gets out. McGonagall’s disapproving expression deepens. “I like to walk sometimes. You know. Fresh air. Nobody’s around.”
“I’m aware of why you’d want to go walking at night, Mr Potter,” McGonagall interrupts, saving James from digging himself a further hole. “But you know why you can’t do that, as much as I’m sure you’d like to, it is against the rules.”
James is having trouble focussing on McGonagall’s words, Regulus’ mouth brushing against his skin. It’s torturous that he can’t do anything except stand here, clinging to the scraps of his composure.
“I’m sorry, Professor. Won’t happen again.”
“Ensure that it does not. Five points from Gryffindor. Get to bed.”
“Yes, Professor.”
She turns to go, and James ducks his head in resignation of the docked house-points, but really, he’s so relieved that she’s leaving.
Until she stops, back to them.
What she says next makes James’ mouth drop open in horror and Regulus abruptly stop kissing his hand.
In an unamused, no-nonsense tone, McGonagall adds, “Oh, and ten points from Slytherin, too, Mr Black.”

Severus and Remus were standing outside of the room on either side of the door, listening in to see if they could hear anything. They couldn't, which made them more concerned, they both thought that they would hear crying or pacing or even just shuffling around, but they heard nothing. Y/N was in the room, by herself, on the bed just staring at the wall, she was trying to cry but she couldn’t. She tried thinking about things that made her sad like her brother, but still, not a single tear to be shed. She was starting to think that something was wrong with her, that something was seriously wrong with her.
When Harry walked past the room, he was curious as to why the two men were standing outside, not moving and not talking, just standing. “What’s going on? Is Aunt Y/N okay?” the boy asked.
“She wants to be left alone at the moment, we’re just standing here to make sure she’s okay,” Remus replied, trying to ease the boy’s concern. Instead of answering, Harry opened the door and walked into the room, closing the door behind him. He saw his aunt on the bed, just blankly staring at the wall, the smell of cigarettes looming behind in the room despite the open window. The boy decided not to talk and to join his aunt on the bed, climbing in beside her.
“It’s okay that I lay with you, right?” Harry asked the woman.
“Yeah,” She replied quietly, opening her arms for her nephew to fall into. Harry did just that, laying in his aunt’s arms, his head resting on her shoulder as they laid there quietly.
“Are you okay? I know this summer has been a lot and you’re always making sure that I’m okay but I never see if you are,” He asked her, rambling slightly which made her chuckle lightly.
“I’ll be okay, my love. Maybe not now, but I will be,” She told him, turning her head to plant a gentle kiss on his forehead.
“Can you tell me more stories about your time at Hogwarts with dad?”
“Of course I can, have I ever told you about the time Sirius asked me out?”
“What? No, tell me!”
**
It was well into her fourth year, everything was going exceptionally well. She had the highest marks in her year, she had her friends and her brother and she had quidditch. Now she wasn’t as good at quidditch as her brother but she still excelled at the sport. She had a bet with Sirius, if she had scored over 60 points during their game against Slytherin, he had to chop his hair but if Sirius had scored over 60 points, she had to go on a date with him. This was right before Sirius realized that he had a massive crush on Remus but was still playing into the straight thing.
As the game went on, the two of them were scoring points left and right, however, Sirius was 20 points ahead of her and James was zooming after the snitch. As Y/N went for the quaffle, that was when James decided it was the perfect time to catch the snitch and win the game for Gryffindor. Sirius had a big smile on his face as he flew over to her, shooting a wink her way.
“Looks like I won, dove. Guess we get to go on a date then, huh?” Sirius teased.
“Just wait until Jamie hears about this one, he’s gonna kill you,” She sing-songed the end of her statement before landing her broom and walking off of the pitch.
Later that night in the common room, the party had finally died down, most of the students going to bed, the marauders and a few others lingering around. Everyone was a few drinks deep other than the two Potters, James was usually the one who drank the most but he decided to stay sober with his sister for once.
“Hey, Prongsy! Guess who has a date with Dove?” Sirius asked loudly, his words slightly slurring together.
“Oh, Dove has a date? Who is this unfortunate bloke?” James teased his sister, who covered her face with her hands.
“It’s me! Haha! I’m going on a date with Dove!” Sirius laughed drunkenly.
“What?”
“We had a bet, if I scored more than 60 points, he had to chop his hair but if he scored over 60 points, I had to go on a date with him. And he ended up scoring 60 and I scored only 40. Trust me, I don’t want to go,” Y/N explained to her brother.
“Oh come on Y/N, you totally want to go! All the girls want me!”
“Correction, some girls want you and I am not one of them. I’d rather go on a date with Lucius, than go on a date with you.”
“Yikes, that’s unfortunate for you mate,” Remus chimed in with a chuckle.
“You’d go on a date with Snivellus?” Sirius and James asked in unison.
“Okay, one, that was freaky, two, his name is Severus and three, he’s a nice guy so yes, I’d go on a date with him. You guys are just a bunch of assholes to him,” She defended the Slytherin boy.
“You’ve got a crush! Y/N Potter has a crush on Severus Snape!” Sirius shouted.
“Shut up you buffoon! I do not have a crush on Severus,” Her face was hot and she was avoiding eye contact, that was her tell.
“You’re such a liar! Snivelly of all people! Y/N!”
She groaned loudly and hid her face in her knees as she went through relentless teasing from her friends and her brother.
**
“So you’ve had a crush on Uncle Sev since your fourth year? And you guys only just got together?” Harry asked his aunt.
“Well you know how he is, it’s hard to get a read on his emotions. Herminone says that Ron has the emotional range of a teaspoon? Has she met your uncle?” Y/N let out a giggle at her teasing. Harry grinned widely at the sound which made her tilt her head in confusion, “What?”
“I haven’t heard you laugh all summer. It was nice to hear,” He said, bringing a tear to her eye. Harry was quick to wipe the tear from under her eye before it made its way down her cheek.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been as present lately. I haven’t really been sleeping because I want to keep you safe. I can’t lose you, Harry, you’re my boy. I don’t think I’d be able to handle losing you,” She admitted to her nephew.
“You won’t lose me. I have so many people around me protecting me from Voldemort and keeping me safe. You don’t have to do this alone, Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore will help keep me safe at Hogwarts. Here there are so many more that will keep me safe, so you can take a break. Let someone else keep me safe for once and you relax and rest. We’re all worried about you.”
It was then that the floodgates opened, endless tears streaming down her cheeks as she tried to calm herself down but nothing worked. Harry knew to just let her cry it out, hugging his aunt tight and letting some of his own tears fall. As she cried, the weight on her chest lessened, it felt like she could breathe for the first time since the summer began. She clung to her nephew, keeping him close, his presence alone helping her feel better. Just as she thought she was about to hit rock bottom, her nephew was the one that was helping her back up. They two both knew that it would take a while but she’d get back to where she was eventually. She’d be back to the bubbly and happy-go-lucky person she once was with a little bit of time, some patience and a lot of love and support from her family.

"Just friends"
James Potter x reader
Summary; truth or dare leads to drunken confessions leads to sweet kisses
Warnings; alcohol, mentions of weed
Words; 1175
Requests are welcome and encouraged! I have an anon submission box and you can ask in comments!
Welcome to my blog Harry Potter fans, please get along with the obx and Avatar fans who also reside here
“Mk, my turn, Lils, truth or dare?” Marlene asked, taking a sip from her firewhiskey.
“Mmm, dare.” Lily said with a smile.
“Okay, I dare you…” She put her finger to her chin in thought. “To kiss Y/n. On the lips.” She decided.
Lily looked at me and giggled. I leaned in and placed a fat kiss on her lips. I pulled away with a smile and took a gulp of my drink.
“I know who you pretended she was!” Dorcas said in a singsong voice.
“Jamesie!” Marlene sang with her.
I threw a pillow at the couple, “Shut up. He doesn’t like me like that. James and I are just friends.” I was thankful that when I drank I became flushed, or the girls would tease me for the heat rising to my cheeks.
Lily laughed loudly, “Friends?” She asked incredulously. “Babe, I’ve seen that boy almost snap his neck because he heard your laugh and wanted to know why you were laughing. But yes, keep telling yourself you’re just friends.”
I took another drink from my bottle.
“Yeah. I’ve talked to Siri and he complains about how annoying James is when all he can talk about is how perfect you are, about how he just wishes you loved him back.” Marlene added to which Dorcas nodded.
“Mhm, and not to mention the fact that he changed all of his classes to be in your classes. Or that he always watches you as you pass by as if you’re an angel from heaven. Or when he looks at you over his books and turns beat red when someone catched him. Or how about-”
“Okay, okay, I understand.”
“Okay, my turn.” Lily announced. “Y/n, truth or dare?”
“Dare, duh. I’m no pussy.” I said confidently, straightening my posture.
“Okay then, I dare you to go tell James you’re madly in love with him.”
If it wasn’t for the whiskey coursing through my veins I would’ve immediately shot down the idea, however, I was drunk as fuck. And maybe the fact that they just told me about all the things he supposedly does that showed he loved me as I do him gave me an extra burst of confidence. I stood up, a determined look on my face.
“No way.” Marlene muttered and I downed the last of my drink and made my way to the door of the dorm.
I opened the door and turned around with a grin, waving to the girls, “I’ll see you later.” I said, quieter this time so as to not wake anyone. I stumbled down the stairs, giggling slightly at how out of it I was.
I walked up the stairs to the boys dormitory, thankful for the lack of enchantment on their stairs. Eventually I reached the boys dorm, which was lively with noise. The group was talking and laughing loudly as music played. I wonder how their neighbors feel about how loud they are. I admired the carving the boys had made in their door as I waited for the liquid courage to kick in. The messy carving had read “The Marauders” with a little wonky smile next to it. I smiled as I remembered carving in the smile while James carefully carved the eyes. I closed my eyes as I remembered the heat of his body behind mine, and the feeling of his breath hovering across my neck.
I took a deep breath, “Here goes nothing.” I knocked loudly and the talking stopped, a moment later the music ceased as well. After there was no answer I knocked again and soon after heard quiet footsteps nearing the door.
The door opened to reveal a slightly sweaty, high out of his mind, Sirius Black.
“Ah, my favorite girl. What brings you here, love?” Sirius asked.
“Pads? Who is it?” Remus asked from behind the door.
“I need James.” I told him, a slight slur to my words.
Sirius’ eyes widened slightly. Of course he knew how his best girl friend was in love with his best boy friend. He had known from the beginning. He had tried to get them together so many times but neither of them could get it through their thick skulls that they both loved each other.
“Prongs, you have a visitor.” Sirius called back with a grin on his face, not breaking eye contact with me. Sirius stepped to the side and a confused James stepped into view. Suddenly, all the alcohol left my system and fear filled my body as I sobered up.
“Y/n?” He asked quietly and my heart fluttered.
“Can we talk?” I asked, almost in a whisper.
James looked at Sirius for a second before he nodded and stepped out. I gently grabbed his hand as the door closed and led him down the stairs. I sat on the couch and pulled my hand away. James sat next to me as I watched the neverending fire.
“Y/n? What did you want to talk abo-” James asked softly.
“I love you.” I interrupted him. I shook my head, “I’m in love with you. And I totally get it if you don’t like me- or love me back.”
“Y/n.” James tried.
“And I also understand if I just ruined our friendship, and I’m really sorry but I love you.”
“Y/n!”
I looked over to him. “No, James, let me talk.” He closed his mouth. “James, from the day I first saw you I’ve been drawn to you. And it was different from the way I was drawn to Sirius, or Remus, or Lily, or any of them. I didn’t figure out how it was different until third year and ever since then you won’t leave my mind. Everything about you entrances me, your voice, your laugh, your personality, your eyes, and your hair, oh my Godric your hair-” James laughed and I flashed him a smile. “I love you, James. Way more than I’ve loved anyone. I get it if you don’t love me back, but I just thought you’d want to know. And I was dared to tell you how I felt. And I’m really drunk.”
James scooted closer to me and lifted his hand to my cheek, “Can I kiss you?” He asked and I closed my eyes.
“Please.” I whispered and in a moment his lips were on mine. He pulled away after a second and looked into my eyes. He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear before leaning back in with a soft smile. My hand found its way to the nape of his neck and I gently pulled him closer to me. He laughed into my mouth and stroked my cheek before he pulled away. I kept my eyes closed, wanting to savor the moment. A soft smile came across my face as he gently kissed my eyelids and I opened my eyes. He rested his forehead against mine, keeping his hand on my cheek.
He placed a final kiss on my lips, “I love you too.”
