In defence of The Dark Lord |Part 1|
We all know Dark, Chosen's old friend and a villan in AvA V. He killed The Second Coming (TSC) and their friends - and then he was killed by TSC, we all know this story. What if I told you that this story, seen through the eyes of the same cybercriminal, is kinda different? What if, from his perspective, it didn't look the way we see it? Let's start with the background and follow the whole process of The Dark Lord appearing in the series. And to be honest, Dark didn't have much of a chance to show us what's more to him. That's why we rely on what Alan provided in the videos and our own thoughts.
Let's recap, shall we?
It all started when The Chosen One was starting to destroy everything on the computer. And Alan wanted to stop him. So he created a stick, who would be able to kill, or like Alan would say, destroy The Chosen One. And here he comes - The Dark Lord (TDL).
In the first few seconds of the Dark Lord's existence, he stretched. He had no purpose. He was just an ordinary stick with some powers, right? Well, let's take a closer look at this.
Let's note the most significant aspect in this entire situation. The Dark Lord is the only character in the entire series created by Alan that wasn't created accidentally. Alan intentionally made him. It wasn't a coincidence, as was the case with Victim, The Chosen One, and The Second Coming. And let's observe that The Dark Lord behaved very differently from The Second Coming, The Chosen One, and Victim because he wasn't concerned about Alan killing him. He wasn't afraid because he knew he was created intentionally. He wasn't created by accident, Alan had no malicious intentions toward him. It's clear, from the beginning when The Dark Lord started carrying out his orders, and then... that's a different story.
"Destroy The Chosen One"
When Alan set a purpose for The Dark Lord, Dark immediately became more energetic, more curious. Not in the sense of The Second Coming, but he was still interested in where his purpose led. Then, he moved on to confront The Chosen One. It's worth noting that their fight was quite comedic. It seemed as if they weren't fighting for life and death but rather playing like children. Perhaps it's because we're watching it from an observer's perspective. During their fight, Alan observed, but didn't directly assist The Dark Lord. Dark had to contend with a powerful stick that could easily lead him into a minefield, yet Alan didn't help him at all. Alan didn't aid Dark in saving the computer. Therefore, this situation was quite drastic, quite dramatic, foreshadowing something that would later unfold, leading The Dark Lord to officially become the antagonist of the entire story.
It's worth noting that in the eyes of various applications, programs, and the like, The Dark Lord wasn't an enemy. He was their ally, and they readily committed to collectively defeating the common foe, which in this situation was The Chosen One.
I guess it's worth noting that the apps obeyed TDL when Dark ordered them to engage in combat. This implies that he had power over them, likely due to Dark being kinda some sort of antivirus at that moment.
After the great defeat of all programs, including The Dark Lord himself, Dark was cornered. He couldn't do anything and essentially had to rely on the mercy of the enemy. In a way, he showed surrender and fear towards The Chosen One. It indicated that he wasn't entirely loyal to his code and Alan - or maybe this is a sign that Dark had some normal emotions (more than anger and hatred). Perhaps it was because he noticed that Alan didn't help in the battle and was actually enjoying himself playing cards.
I also like to mention my observation: Dark obeys any being stronger than him. Initially, there was Alan, who was in power to delete things at any moment. Later on, The Chosen One, stronger than Dark, but, as known, only after their first battle. Dark always follows someone until that person becomes his enemy or acts against Dark's actions.
The Chosen One made it clear to The Dark Lord that Alan didn't really care about him and didn't help much in that situation. The Dark Lord understood that his creator was indifferent towards him, leading to TDL and TCO joining forces to make Alan's life a living hell for a second.
----
THERE WILL BE ANOTHER PART!!

John Marston's Wild West Comedy Tour
Our main gig: Chapter 1: The PLAN
And our side hustle: Shootin' Down the Fourth Wall
THE TRUE STORY:
It starts off with a conversation around the campfire after a botched robbery. John's telling the tale to pass the time, and I hit him with:
"Hey, you've got material there!" He blinks a few times, because he never thought about it that way. But he has a think about it...
"Damn, you're right!" So we leave the gang, shit's going south, anyway, but John can't swim, which doesn't leave us with much room.
The road's long, the law's tight - we're looking for something better. No more robbing trains - we're robbing people of their SERIOUS faces and selling them some good old laughter. THE COMEDY TOUR BEGINS! The name of our act: The Good, the Bad, and the Goddamn Outrageous
First stop? We head out West, hitting up the towns that have never seen a comedy show in their life. We don't just show up with jokes, we rob 'em blind (of their funny bones).
We start performing anywhere where there's a crowd - saloons, campsites - folks out here want a good laugh as much as they want a good shootout. But the road to Vegas ain't easy. We get ourselves into some WILD shit along the way.
We run into Arthur Morgan who's decided to strike it out on his own too. He begrudgingly joins us as the third wheel. We keep him JUST grumpy enough to get him to pull out his best one-liners.
FINALLY - VEGAS! Yeah, baby!
By now, we've made it big. The competition is stiff, the eyes of the world are on us. We're used to people wanting to take us down, but by now, we're feeling pretty untouchable. On the night of our big performance, we're having a blast, the audience is laughing so much they could bust a steam engine.
BUT good old Edgar Ross comes along and derails all the fun - trust that man to rain on John's rodeo. He wouldn't know a good joke if it shot him in the face. Problem is, as much as we've been making a name for ourselves as comedians, we've also drawn the attention of the law. HOW ARE WE GONNA GET OURSELVES OUTTA THIS ONE, JOHNNY BOY? John Marston and Arthur Morgan team up to give Ross the public ROASTING OF A LIFETIME. You gonna pull a slick one about John's mama being a prostitute? Be prepared to become ROAST PORK, my villanous bro. Comedic vengeance, retribution of the sweetest kind, is within our grasp. The crowd's going to remember the day they witnessed this epic lampooning from the two greatest outlaw-turned-comedians this side of the Mississippi!
Ross won't be able to hold a candle to Arthur and John, and when it's all said and done? They walk off the stage like the kings of comedy they were meant to be.
Ross will forever rue the day he thought he could punch down on poor John about his mama. The three of us? We'll be Legends of the West. Not for our robberies, not for our wanted posters - but for bringing down the goddamn house with every line.

mordred through time (movies, tv shows, opera and musicals)
Part 3: From 2002 to 2010
Other Parts: Part 1: From 1949 to 1981 -> here Part 2: From 1982 to 2002 -> here Part 4: From 2014 to 2017 Part 5: From 2018 to 2023
Complete list of part 2 media with extra information and some of my thoughs regarding the evolution of Mordred’s role is under cut.
In part 2 I talked a bit about how in movie adaptations (since Excalibur 1981) Morgause disappears and Morgana takes her role as Mordred's mother. Here I wanted to note how we actually have a very big gap of Mordred movies in the 2000s. Most of the media in this video are recordings of musicals or opera or tv shows.
Another small point is that we have here the second instance of Mordred in a romantic relationship (the first instance being Mordred and his lady in "Sword of Lancelot") in Merlin BBC, where his love for Kara is a central part of his character development. The third and only other instance will be in a webseries (in part 4!).
2002 Merlin the Return: Craig Sheffer plays an over the top extremely evil Mordred in this tv movie. He is still Morgana's son, and he is the main antagonist (and a wizard). The movie is - an experience. It mainly focus on modern day characters meeting time travelling Arthur and Merlin.
2003 Gary Hughes' album "Once and future king": The song is "The Hard Way", one of the two songs sung by Mordred (the other being "Demon Down"). This album (divided in two parts) has a total of 20 songs sung by different artists each interpreting an arthurian character. It is an interesting narrative musical that follows the rise and fall of Arthur. We do not know if Mordred is Arthur's son.
2003 recording of Albeniz's "Merlin" opera: This is a 1902 opera that is rarely performed nowadays. This recording is the only available dvd of it, and Mordred (a baritone) is played by Àngel Òdena. Mordred is the main antagonist alongside his mother Morgana.
2003 Camelot, Papermill Playhouse: I was lucky enough to have some bootlegs videos of Camelot performances so I decided to put them as well. It is pretty interesting to see how Mordred's "The Seven Deadly Virtues" and "Fie on Goodness!" gets campier, more comedici and sillier! Here Mordred is played by Barrett Foa.
2005 Camelot, Bad Hersfeld (Germany): Another recording of the Broadway musical, here fully translated in German! This is the website of the open air event. Unfortunately I could not find the name of the actor.
2008 Camelot (Live from Lincoln Center): Live from Lincoln Center used to be a tv series dedicated to filming and sharing musicals and performances. This is thus another Camelot musical adaptation. Bobby Steggert (who is now a therapist!!) played an over the top, super-campy, queer coded Mordred! This is probably the first time we have a Mordred that is so obviously queer coded in his presentation.
2008 Merlin (BBC): This 5 seasons tv show was extremely popular, so much it led to the rise of a bunch of arthurian tv movies that were probably trying to ride "Merlin"'s popularity. The show is episodic-like, slightly comedic, and focuses on Merlin and Arthur. Mordred appears as a child (not related to Arthur or Morgana) at the end of Season 1 and he was portrayed by Asa Butterfield (not in video). Then he returned as an adult in Season 5, potrayed by Alexander Vlahos. This is another instance of a sympathetic Mordred. While he ends up being a villain and finding an alliance with Morgana, the show makes a point to explain his reasons. At this point this is the second time we see a sympathetic (but still villanous) Mordred on tv. Interestingly this is also the second time we see a Mordred who is in a happy romantic relationship (there are only three instances, it seems, in all media!), as Mordred is in love with a woman named Kara.
2009 Merlin and the Book of Beasts: This is a fantasy tv movie that focus on Merlin helping Arthur's daughter reclaim Camelot. It features a baffling performance from Merlin's actor (not sure what the director or the actor himself was thinking), and a villain called Arkadian who is supposed to be Mordred and Arthur's son. Here we go back to the role of extremely evil Mordred, and Arkadian also kidnaps his half-sister to marry her and continue the Pendragon dynasty. Mordred (Arkadian) is played by Jim Thorburn.
2010 Avalon High: This is a tv Disney channel movie adaptation of Meg Cabot's novel by the same title. The movie butchers the main story of the novel and tries to surprise its viewers by changing the character's arthurian selves. The protagonist Allie is now King Arthur's reincarnation (instead of the Lady of the Lake), and William (her love interest) is... unknown character instead of being King Arthur. The novel has William's half brother as Mordred, but the movie changes that and now it is the teacher (Mr. Moore) who is revealed to be Mordred, while Marco is just a misdirection. Mr. Moore is played by Steve Valentine.
2010 Merlin and Arthur the Lion King: Continuing our journey into sympathetic Mordreds, we have another one here! This movie is one in a series of tv movies/dvd movies by variation of "Arthur" and "Merlin" in the title. My personal theory is that the hope is that people would find the movie by googling for more popular media (ex. "Merlin 2008 BBC", "King Arthur 2004"). In this animated kids movie, Mordred is a kitten and one of Arthur's friends. He first works with Morgana to stop Arthur from becoming king, but then ends up deciding he does not want to betray his friend anymore. This might be one of the few iterations of a completely redeemed Mordred in movies/tv!
Extra note: 2003 is also the year Heather Dale (singer) released her album "May Queen" which has one song that in my opinion seemed to be sung by Mordred or to Mordred: "Crashing Down". Because it is not certain but only my interpretation I did not add it.
In the same album we also have "War Between Brothers" which reference to Mordred (sung by an external narrator). A previous album ("The trials of Lancelot" in 2000) also contains the famous song "Mordred's Lullaby" which is sung by Morgana to Mordred.

Thoughts on King Henry the Sixth Part II Act IV
Okay so it’s been a while. I got addicted to Dimension 20 and forgot how to read. But it’s the first of March, almost the Ides, so I’m back on my Shakespeare kick.
So Act IV opens with a sea battle. It happens almost entirely just off-screen, if only there was a camera panning left or right, you could see the battle, but alas this is a stage. Where we are introduced to… The Captain. No not the guy from How I Met Your Mother, though picturing him as Kyle MacLachlan is fun. He also has this wonderful line:
“The gaudy, blabbing, and remorseful day
Is crept into the bosom of the sea;
And now the loud-howling wolves arouse the jades
That drag the tragic melancholy night”
Which has left all of tumblr poetry shook, scared, and panicking. He’s coming for your gig.
There’s a new(?) character called Walter Whitmore, I kept reading Walter White at first. I ultimately do not care for him.
This whole scene can be summarized really easily: Everyone wants to execute the Duke of Suffolk and the Duke of Suffolk responds “Noooooo.” And then they actually fucking kill him. Legitemately so suprised.
The best line though, because it will be the perfect band name: “And wedded be you to the hags of hell,” So… teenagers everywhere, feel free to use something from there for your garage band.
Also at some point Julius Caesar is referenced, and that just feels like Shakespeare foreshadowing his career.
The next scene introduces a ton of characters including: George Bevis (no Butthead), John Holland, Jack Cade (his name just feels villanous), and Dick (Willy Shakespeare I see what you did there). I thought Smith and Dick were like throwing shade towards Jack Cade as he talks. He would say a line, and then the two would turn towards the camera and say some snarky one liner like “A must needs; for beggary is valiant.” But I think, based on later developments, they were actually hyping him up to the audience.
Later on, while arguing, someone yells out “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.” And it feels so nice to know that Shakespeare is a big fan of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
A clerk gets introduced, it’s established that he knows how to write his name, and immediately is ordered to be executed. I think Jack Cade might be an anti-intellectual.
Despite that, he at one point pulls out an epic moment of pownage. This one guy, Sir Humphrey Stafford, wanders in. He seems to hate Cade because Cade is claiming to be heir to the throne despite being a plasterer. And when Humphrey points that out, Cade responds to “And Adam was a gardener.” Sometimes a good biblical reference is all you need.
What follows is basically a montage. Scene after scene, almost all are sparse in lines and stage directions. In one scene both Stafford’s (there were two!?) die, but in the stage directions introducing the scene. Jace Cade casually tells Dick “You shalt have a license to kill.” Thus revealing that he is James Bond to the audience.
The Queen wanders in cradling the Duke of Suffolk heads and the King, in his only scene, notices how the Queen is mourning Suffolk more than she will ever morun him. She denies it, I don’t believe her. Also a Messanger says “They call false caterpillars.” I have no idea what it means, but it felt notable.
This random guy Lord Scales appears and says he will send Matthew Gough, Who dies two scene later without saying a line.
In another scene, I hope it was meant to be comedic because I found it hilarious, Jack Cade claims that he should only be called Lord Mortimer, and immediately kills one of his own soilder’s when they run in calling him Jack Cade.
Finally the Duke of Buckingham comes in, with this guy Clifford. Together they are the ambassador to the King. They offer a pardon if the rebels agree to leave. What follows is this fickleness of the masses, where they will cheer for whoever just spoke, even if it immediately contradicts what they just cheered for. Cade berates them, but Clifford seems to win out by getting the masses to part, with many abandoning Cade. Leading to him fleeing.
The King receives a message from the Duke of York, claiming that the Duke of Somerset is a traitor. It would be a dramatic moment… if it wasn’t read right in front of the Duke of Somerset. Maybe take a quick peak around the room before you speak Mr. Messenger.
The last scene. I kid you not. Is a random character named Alexander Iden killing Jack Cade. This guy, introduced (I think), in this Act, literally leads a massive rebellion that could be its own story, and is killed by a character introduced in this very scene. All because Cade hid on this guy's land. And then, like an idiot, Cade reveals his identity when he was stabbed. Instead of denying this guy the reward for his head. Because Cade is an idiot. The anti-intellectual little fuck.

The writers do not know how to write Lucas' character, or any their minority characters for that matter. Lucas is constantly shat on by the writers, he is put in positions where his character is pitted against fan fav characters (first Eleven and then now Eddie) so the viewers are automatically pushed to not side with Lucas as he's not as popular as Eleven or Eddie. The racism aspect of it is written very shady, too. It's also that he gets sidelined hugely and his story was entirely Max focused. No offence to Max's character, because I like her a lot but the only time Lucas gets an actual focus is in this season and even that revolves around Max. He is usually put in positions where his character can be villanized, or often times where he faces racism it is used for shock value, not as something the writers actually care about dealing with. That gun scene was unnecessary and used for only drama purposes and nothing else.
We only have so little minority representation on the show and that is how the show treats them. And do not even get me started on how they treat Will, because that is honestly a whole another can of worms.
the Party has died in S1 the moment Will went missing. I guess the writers only care about showing 'the Party' when the characters worry that someone might die but that's about it. When it comes to actual friendship aspect of the show, it is crap. Dustin and Mike preferring Eddie over Lucas sucked. The way Will is treated sucked. Dustin isnt even technically with the party anymore as he left to hang out with Steve and the teenager gang in S3 largely because of the party (and specifically Mike tbh) acting cocky. The show really forces you to ask if the Party even exists atp.
Agreed.
Most of the focus on Lucas is still centered around Max. I've heard good things about the character novel for Lucas, but that was written by a black author. From what I've heard, there are criticisms of his friends' lack of involvement in his interests in the book, which we never see on screen. Instead, Lucas is viewed as the bad guy, the betrayer, and people overlook how the obsession with Eddie came at the expense of Lucas.
Argyle, too - making him the stoner comedic relief comes with it's own problems. There's also the fact that Eduardo Franco is treated like garbage by the media and fandom.

what makes the dsmp’s story stand out
Why the dsmp is so special and why it distinguishes itself amongst the insane amount of media that we could be consuming instead right now.
So basically, this is really obvious and simple and i think we all kinda know it without thinking about it but i still felt like writing it down because it’s super important to me.
The thing that makes this story stand out amongst so many others (apart from the fact that it’s a mc rp lmao) is that all the character’s are treated like people. What i mean by that is that they can’t be treated simply as ways to further the plot, they can’t just kill off characters in favor of contributing to some other character’s arc, they can’t have stuff like “manic pixie dream girls”. and that’s because each character IS a real person, if they tried that, if someone suggested that stuff someone in the discord call is gonna go “hey, what the fuck man, you can’t just kill me off like that”.
Each character is therefore special, none of them can be 2d because they are people, they all exist as people instead of being plot devices. There aren’t any extras (except arguably the guests like drista, lil nas x, etc) there aren’t really any side characters*, because it’s everyone’s story, all the characters have someone sitting there that actually care about them and are interested in making that character special, they won’t be neglected.
that’s also why, often the characters just… don’t fit in tropes. they don’t really exist the way normal character’s do, they don’t have this “purpose” that movie or books characters do, like hero, trainer, soft character that teaches the main character about love, comic-relief, or love-interests that’s only there for 3 chapters because they die for the mc to teach them about grief.
They’re only there as, themselves. They don’t fit in one trope because people don’t do that, there’s more to them then that, they’re complex. they’re closer, more similar to real people than anything that’s been made in a really long time, and that’s because they all have a person to take care of their little character.
there was this really cool thinking written by @/mt-words which i’ll link here about techno not fitting in a trope and that possibly fucking with people’s expectation of his characters. i think the idea that we’re so used to getting the same tropes regurgitated back to us over and over again that we don’t know how to handle stuff that doesn’t fit in them is very funny (and also a bit sad). Like, has media really become THIS repetitive and unoriginal??? But i digress.
anyway, time for quick examples, i was watching the “healthy competition” stream from 07/26 and i noticed something cool. So basically c!wilbur asks c!ranboo to ”pick his brain” and then asks him a bunch of questions about his morals and they discuss his alignments and other similar stuff right? And we can see clearly that c!wilbur is completely baffled at the stuff c!ranboo is saying about him not disliking anyone and not really having any strong stances at all. he just genuinely doesn’t understand c!ranboo and can’t relate at all.
Yet 10 mins later, he’s pouring his heart out to him and more importantly he’s talking about how he feels like c!ranboo really gets him. Obviously they are super similar in lots of ways, like their paranoia and anxiety, how they’re both kinda people pleasers, etc.
the fact that they can be in complete agreement on a topic and be so similar in certain aspects while also being complete opposites and being genuinely confused at the stuff that’s coming out of the other’s mouth on other topics really shows how multifaceted the character’s are, how 3d and real they feel.
I’m going to be adding another example from a post i just read by @/shrugofmud here it is :). It’s basically about how c!jack and ghostbur are cool because they balance comedy and drama. I’m gonna talk more about c!jack here. basically he’s comedic relief and he leans into that role right? but he’s also so much more than that, the way he balances the jokes and the clear comedy of his plotline with the sadness and loneliest he clearly feels and let’s that seep through in his jokes. He’s more than one thing, he’s more than comedic-relief, he copes with humor and covers his desire for a sense of belonging and to be heard by a bitter hatred and desire for revenge on c!tommy.
They’re more than just one thing, they aren’t reduced to a trope or a key personality trait the way characters often are. there’s so much to them, different parts of their personality that work together to make a whole, like a person :)
I also believe this is why the fandom as so much character analysis material and just keeps going, but it’s also why there’s so much disagreement on the characters and their personalities, like “oh people are villanizing c!wilbur too much” or “people are reducing c!niki to her villain arc and turning it into a ‘girlboss moment’” or “people are making c!tubbo too soft”. the character’s are harder to write into fanfic properly or analyze because you have to take into account all the different subtleties of them.
some people chose to focus on certain aspects of the characters, aspects they find more interesting or aspects they relate to, while other’s chose to focus on other aspects, which causes a bit of confusion.
It’s what makes this story so original and cool to think about and make the character’s so fucking compelling. It’s what makes me sit down for 6 hours straight and watch VODs so i can better understand different characters, it’s what makes me excited for each lore stream. it’s how human they are, how real they feel.
And this is why i’m the biggest believer and will always push for STUFF CAN BE TWO THINGS!!

hypocrisy man I'm so conflicted like I understand his motivations and his story so well but like how is this helping okay but Alina's expression changing ever so slightly at him saying 'you and me' stop breaking my fucking heart assholes why is Jessie breaking my heart more on this watch than Ben did on the first one I knew it before he said it but I still gasped when he did on my first watch the little head tilt after he says it still with tears in his fucking eyes man I love this show this was the most devastating break up I have ever experienced and I will not accept any counter arguments okay actual villain time we love to see it sir please don't erotically remove her cloak you have long lost the right again I knew it before they said it but them saying it had me screaming WHAT A GLORIOUS EPISODE

Imagining if Doctor Who was Brasilian...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCv5o7n_mtk
So, you may remember that link over this paragraph, wich was a trailer reimagining if Doctor Who was an american show, to celebrate the 50 anniversary that happened six years ago.
Inspired by that video, i haved this idea to post my fan cast, reimagining who could play the Doctor if the show was produced in Brazil. I have no ambition to wait for any TV Show to buy the rights of adaptation from the BBC, this is just a fun way to introduce you for some of the most talented actors and actresses of my country, and i will not go with all Thirteen encarnations, because that would demand a lot of brain cargo.
In no particular order, here it goes seven brasilian actors who could bring great charm and charisma to the character of the Doctor.
Born in the city of São Paulo (Saint Paul) on March’s 01 of 1965, Miwa Yanagizawa is an prolific and aclaimed theater actress and director in 1989. Starting on TV in 1991 with a minisseries called Filhos do Sol (Sons of the Sun), though she continues to show up on television, it’s hardly with high lights. All of her roles were secondary (a deepo synthom of how badly brasilian television and cinema represents the significant japanese comunity that we have).
She started to get some atention with roles in the telenovelas (yes, you thinked that only México produced this ones?) Viver a Vida (Live the Life), Morde e Assopra (Bite and Blows) and Sol Nascente (Rising Sun, of wich his role as Mieko Tanaka is pictured above with the hat). But they are usually stereotyped as the kind and motterly figures who usually fall under the radar in favor of young protagonists. Worst, this telenovela called Rising Sun that i mentioned? She did play the sister of a japanese character who have importance for being the leading heroine’s adoptive father, and this character of her brother was played by A WHITE GUY! And this was in 2016, we still do this shit!
The closest to a role diferent of the kind and sweet type was in the telenovela Bite and Blow from 2011. Tough still a mother of a side character, she have the chance to show a more stern and severe side in the role of the traditionalist and conservative Tieko. If she played the Doctor, somebody with a tough and exterior learning how to thrust people and acept them as his friends would be a performance that i believe she totally could explore and be successful.
Mohamed Harfouch is a syrian origin actor born at October’s 29 of 1977, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. He has a long career on television, my favorite role of his being the romantic musician Romeo in a kid’s show called Teca na TV (Teca on TV, pictured down here).
He is now establishing himself in telenovelas. While all of this roles have been side characters, they still are a little more varied, alowing him to show from comedic to dramatic range, in rules such as the travelling lebanese barber and doctor Farid in 2011′s Cordel Encantado (Enchanted Cordel) and the palestinian medicine student Pérsio Farouk in 2013′s Amor à Vida (Love to Life).
If he played the Doctor, it would probably start with a broading and mysterious apearance, but lather reveal the more funny, energetic, kind and helpfull side of the character.
Born at December’s 15 of 1969, Luis Miranda is recently gaining mainstream popularity in Brasil due to his role as transgender woman Dorothy Benson in 2014′s telenovela Geração Brasil (Generation Brazil). But he has an extablished career in theater comedy, with the role of comunity leather Edith (pictured down below) in the show Terça Insana (Insane Thursday) probably being his most famous.
But he also showed facility in more serious roles, such as the sleazy politician Ulisses in 2011′s TV Movie Homens de Bem (Man of Good) and the villanous Reverend Magalhães in 2013′s Film Trampolim do Forte (Fort’s Trampoline).
With such a varied of range, there is a very unpredictable Doctor, who could always surprise each episode.
Born at the city of Cajazeiras in Octuber’s 27 of 1963, Marcélia Cartaxo gained great aclaim as the naive Macabéa in 1985′s cinematic adaptation of the classic novel A Hora da Estrela (The Time of the Star, pictured down below):
After this role, tough, most of his roles had being very sided, and sufered similar stereotiping as Miwa Yanagizawa’s. But she is starting to break this after working in Fort’s Trampoline as Dona do Céu (pictured down bellow with the yellow dress), an autoritarian and fanatically religious mother of the boy Felizardo. If she followed the line of using the smiley facade as a way to manipulate his enemyes, his Doctor could be an excelent experiment for her range as an actress.
Born with the name Paulo Rogério da Silva at December 18 of 1970 in the city of Fortaleza, poet, singer, composer, acor, director and dramaturgist Gero Camilo has being particurally prolific in comedic movie roles, like Firmino in 2004′s Narradores de Javé (Narrators of Javé) and Zé Burraldo in 2007′s Pequenas Histórias (Little Histories, pictured down bellow).
However, he also haved the chance to show range in dramas such as in 2003′s Carandiru and voice acting the protagonist of 2010′s animated short adaptation of the teatrical poem Morte e Vida Severina (Life and Death Severina). His Doctor could be very expressive, genuinelly and explicitly funny, kind and show a lot of otimism, pathos and empathy in the most dark and dramatic situations.
Born in Salvador at January’s 01 of 1970, João Miguel’s rise to fame came trough his role as the murderous cook Raimundo Nonato in 2008′s film Estômago (Stomach, pictured above). Three years later, he worked in the telenovela Enchanted Cordel playing the role of sensitive bandito Bel (pictured down bellow).
After that, his stardom just keeps growing. He is now playing a Ezequiel, an aparently villanous character on Netflix’s 3 %, the first brasilian sci fi distopian TV series (pictured down bellow). So yes, he is no strange to the genre. If you either direct him be simpathetic, funny, misterious, scary, you can be very sure that he is totally capable of naturally pulling all this emotions at the same time.
Born at October’s 15 of 1964 in Rio de Janeiro, acting since his youth in the 90s, Denise Fraga’s started his rise to fame in series of comedic sketches at the variety sunday show Fantástico. She usually played roles inspired by the lives of various wimen in diferent regions of the country, whose histories she collected. After that period, she shined with his performance as ex theater actress, buddist and astrologist Bia in 2008′s minisseries Queridos Amigos (Dear Friend’s, pictured down bellow), who tried to maintaing a joyous face despite the trauma of being phisically tortured during the Brasilian Military Dictatorship:
And also as the traumatized guerrila veteran Vera in the 2013′s film Hoje (Today, also pictured down bellow), who is learning to acept the death of husband during the same period:
Her Doctor could be very excitable at the possibility of having an adventure, wanting to share his passionate curiosity with his friends, and always want to do the right thing despite being afraid and vulnerable.
So, that’s all for today. Say in the coments bellow what you tought of the pictures and sugestions of this actors, and if you have any curiosity to know any of their works ;)

Sorry if you don't accept these (currently on mobile) but can I get a five and one for bakushimanari. Five times Denki needed to be rescued by his bf (probably from villans) and the one time he can return the favor for them. If not I'd just love to have little bulletpoints on how each scenario would play out (btw I FREAKING LOVE YOUR BLOG IT GIVES ME LIFE)
So, I’ve never done a 5-1 fic before but it’s something I’ve actually wanted to do for a while now so I’m super glad you requested this especially with Bakukirikami!
Also, I probably won’t accept many of these since they are very long and very time consuming. But I’ll gladly do this for you!
This also takes place after they graduated from UA and are now pro heroes. I included some serious scenes and also some comedic scenes! I hope you enjoy!
Under the cut too because it’s 7 pages long on a doc so it’s a very long post though the scenes vary in length
1.
The sounds of screams echoed in Kaminari’s ears as he rushed down the street towards the mushrooms of smoke and the blaring of alarms. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to move faster as another explosion shook the ground.
Turning the corner, he froze when he saw just how much chaos there was. Multiple buildings were crumbled to the ground, villains and heroes entangled in combat, civilians pinned under the rubble and caught in the crossfire. There was so much going on and Kaminari didn’t know where to do first.
Gritting his teeth, he heard the cries of a small girl and ran in that direction. The cries were coming from a pile of rubble, formerly an apartment complex. He didn’t waste any time before moving the slabs of concrete, muscles burning as he tossed them out of the way. Slowly, he made progress, digging his way to the child.
Eventually he reached the small girl, who shrank away from him when he came into view. Exhaling harshly, Kaminari put his hands up and smiled softly, trying to calm his hard breathing. “It’s alright. I have you,” he reached out a hand slowly while maintaining eye contact with the frightened child.
Tentatively, the child reached out a small hand to him, holding tightly. He pulled her out carefully, holding her close to his body as he crawled out of the rubble with her. Standing up, he stumbled slightly and looked around again.
Kaminari’s eyes widened when he saw one of the villains throw a large slab of concrete in his direction.
There was nothing he could do and he knew that, turning so that his body was between the child and the projectile. Closing his eyes, he held her close, using his body as a shield and expecting the contact at any moment.
The sound of concrete colliding with something rang in his ears, yet no pain came. Slowly and confusedly, he uncurled from around the child and peered behind him to see the familiar red hair of one of his boyfriends.
Kirishima turned around and smiled, flashing his sharp teeth at Kaminari, who let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Get the little one outta here Denki,” the other said calmly before rushing forwards. To the side, Kaminari heard controlled blasts of explosions and watched as Bakugou soared through the sky, taking down another villain in meer seconds.
Softly smiling, Kaminari wished he could admire his boyfriends in action, but the choked noise that came from the child had him moving to the safe zone, keeping her close as he trusted the other two to take care of the villains.

2.
The moon shone bright as Kaminari sat holed up in his office. Head in his hands, he peered down at the paperwork that covered the expanse of his desk. Groaning, he threw his head back and leaned back on his chair. This was his least favorite part of the job.
Well, it’s more accurate to say it’s his second least favorite part.
The first being beaten by villains.
But paperwork was much more common than that.
His eyes burned from constantly looking at the numbers and paragraphs that littered every page of the seemingly endless pile of papers he needed to fill out. Normally, he could get done at a decent time, especially when he had his sidekicks to help out.
But he sent all of his sidekicks home early because he liked to be the “nice boss”.
He was regretting that now.
The ticking of the clock on the wall was distracting. He looked at the time, groaning even louder when he saw that it was almost midnight. There was only one place he wanted to be at the moment and it wasn’t stuck in his office, filling in the blank places on the forms in front of him like some sort of corporate robot.
“I wanted to be a hero so I wasn’t trapped in an office!” he said to no one in particular, jumping when a laugh came as a response, practically throwing himself off of the chair as he whipped around fast.
He was greeted with Kirishima’s bright smile, calming himself down before standing and walking over to the other, lightly punching him in the arm. “Don’t scare me like that Eiji!”
“Sorry. Figured you heard me come in.” Kirishima wrapped one arm around Kaminari’s waist and pressed a chaste kiss to the other’s temple, causing the blonde to smile and his heart to flutter. “Wanted to see what kept you so long.”
Sighing, Kaminari sat back at his desk, gesturing to the papers scattered about. “Ah,” Kirishima made in acknowledgement. He looked around for a moment, Kaminari watching him in confusion as he grabbed a chair in the corner and pulled it up next to him.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m gonna help you of course!” the redhead told him like it was obvious. He reached forward and grabbed a few papers, reading them over. “This is from the subway attack right? I can fill these out for you since it was a joint effort between us so all you’ll have to do is sign.” Without waiting for a protest or a confirmation, Kirishima grabbed a pen and began to fill out the summary of what happened.
Kaminari watched him, relief flooding into him as he bumped his shoulder against his boyfriend’s. “Thanks Eijirou.”
–
3.
Pain was the first thing that Kaminari picked up on when he became aware again. There was a dull throbbing throughout his entire body but the most intense pain was in his arm.
Slowly, he opened his eyes. He didn’t want to move much, not wanting to exacerbate the pain, but he did look around. It was hard to see, the room too dark to make out many details. However, he looked to his right and noticed that his forearm was snapped. Chuckling, he found out what the cause of the pain was.
Kaminari began to panic slightly as he started to feel other things besides the pain. He could feel rope around his wrists and ankles but he was too weak, in too much pain to try to get free of his binds. So he just sat there, listening to the drip, drip, drip of a pipe somewhere in the room he was in.
He tried to scream but he was unable to, overcome by a metal taste in the back of his throat as he coughed. No noise was being produced by his vocal chords.
He was truly helpless.
Sitting there, he tried to think of ways to escape. The thought of using his quirk to fry the rope was his number one idea. However, even though his tolerance and usage has increased, he wasn’t sure how many villains were around or how much of his quirk he would actually need to escape. And he didn’t want to risk frying himself out in the middle of his escape.
A few more possible scenarios ran through his mind but he was distracted by the sounds of screams, thuds, and mild explosions. Not wanting to get his hopes up, Kaminari braced himself for the worst, gritting his teeth to try to hold back his own scream as a sharp stabbing pain rang through his arm at the slight movement.
A loud thud rang out through the room, Kaminari assuming that it came from the door. Hinges squeaked and he squinted his eyes to try to see who was coming into the room.
“Oi, Sparky!” Bakugou’s angry voice yelled out and Kaminari had never been more happy to hear it before in his life. He let out a relieved sob.
“H-Here,” he managed to croak out, throat protesting at the use of his voice. He could hear the other quietly curse as he walked up to the blonde. Kaminari smiled at his boyfriend, whose red eyes held a mix of relief and complete and utter rage in them. It was obvious that Bakugou was debating whether or not to just escape with Kaminari or to go back to finish off the people who hurt him. Kaminari chuckled. “I-I’m so g-glad.” His breathing was becoming labored as he slumped forward in the chair, something sharp in his chest.
“Shit,” was all that Bakugou said before kneeling in front of Kaminari and carefully untying the ropes that bound the other. He felt arms around his back and under his knees, letting out a pained cry as he was hoisted into Bakugou’s arm, his broken and useless arm dangling to the side as Bakugou carried him. “I got you,” he reassured Kaminari, voice unusually soft, the same kind of softness that was saved only for him and Kirishima.
Kaminari was able to forget about the pain, feeling safe in Bakugou’s arms and knowing that he would be okay.
–
4.
There were hands around his throat, cutting off the air to his lungs. His vision was growing blurry, limbs numb, ears ringing. He couldn’t think, couldn’t even remember how he got into this situation.
All he knows is that he can’t breath and his feet are not touching the ground.
Slowly, he cracked open his eyes, seeing yellow eyes shine through the blurriness. Kaminari tried to kick, scratch at the arms holding him up, but he was growing too weak for his fighting to be effective. His lungs were burning unbearably and he was growing deprate.
A tear streamed down his face as he began to accept his doom.
Somewhere off in the distance, he heard a familiar voice call out his name. He couldn’t focus on it, though, because the hand had suddenly disappeared and he was falling but there was no floor underneath him.
Finally, he was able to take a deep breath, lungs thanking him. But being able to breath wasn’t any good if he was going to fall from an indeterminable height.
Something wrapped around his ankle as he fell and he felt himself jerk, back hitting a concrete wall and knocking the wind out of him yet again. Kaminari coughed as he felt whomever caught him pull him up.
After a few moments, he was pulled onto what he assumed to be a roof but, before he could get his bearings, he was being pulled into an embrace, two familiar arms wrapping around him. Turning his head, he was met with red hair in his face but smiled nonetheless, returning the embrace as his boyfriend held him tight.
–
5.
“Uhhhehehe.”
Kaminari laughed as he was forced to sit on the couch in his office, mind blank. There were voices all around him, all ones that he recognized but he couldn’t make out what they were saying.
His mind was absolutely fried, the outcome of going over his voltage limit.
Somewhere buried deep, he knew that he had to recharge but he couldn’t stand up, couldn’t walk, and couldn’t talk to tell his new interns what was going on.
It was their first day and he didn’t have time to brief them on what to do when this happened and no one else was around either.
“Where is he?” A familiar voice boomed through the office and the interns jumped, cowering behind each other as Bakugou stomped into the room.
“Wey!” came a noise of excitement from Kaminari as he waved at his boyfriend before falling backwards on the couch, laughing again.
He missed Bakugou rolling his eyes and giving him an amused smile as he walked over.
“Y-You can’t be in here,” one of the interns told Bakugou, fear lacing her voice.
“The fuck I can’t. Now move out of the goddamn way unless you know how to fix him.” No response came. “I fucking thought so.”
Kaminari rolled to his side, watching Bakugou rummage through his desk drawers until he came across a charging cord and wall outlet. He’d been through the process many times, finding the nearest plug and handing the other end to his boyfriend, who put it into his mouth immediately.
Bakugou lifted his head and sat down before letting Kaminari rest his head in his lap, running his fingers through his hair. They sat like that in silence for a few minutes until Kaminari started to come to his senses again. “You need to get smarter interns.”
–
+1.
Kaminari stood frozen at the scene.
There was fire, debris, blood, destruction, everything that could have gone wrong did. He didn’t know how things went so bad so quickly when everything was perfectly fine not even thirty seconds ago.
His eyes drifted the unconscious forms of his boyfriends. Bakugou laid on the other side of the street, face down and not moving. Kaminari couldn’t even tell if he was breathing from that distance. Turning his attention to Kirishima, the redhead laid just a foot away from him, body covered in the rubble that was supposed to cover him, not Kirishima.
He couldn’t contain the tears that spilled out onto his cheeks. Sobs wracked his body at the guilt and sorrow he was feeling at seeing the two people whom he loved most lying motionless in the street.
The laugh of the villain echoed throughout the speech, Kaminari freezing as he heard it. His sorrow didn’t disappear but rather took a back seat to the rage he felt at that exact moment.
Slowly standing and walking forward, he screamed and broke out into a run at the villain, electricity shooting out in a controlled way, puncturing the villain through the abdomen. He increased the voltage the closer he got, feeling himself sway but also able to control himself. A dark part of him wanted to fry the bastard that did this but he knew that wasn’t the solution.
After a few moments of releasing high voltages of electricity, he collapsed to his knees and watched as the villain fell, unconscious.
He was unable to revel in his victory, immediately standing and running to Bakugou’s side, shouting the other’s name and flipping him over onto his back. “Katsuki!” he shouted over and over again until he saw the other’s face twitch, a sign of life. The adrenaline coursing through him allowed him to drag the other over to where Kirishima was, not wanting to leave the blonde. He removed the debris from off of Kirishima’s body, sobbing in relief when the other let out a choked gasp.
As the sirens got closer, Kaminari sat there, holding Kirishima’s hand and gently coddling Bakugou’s head in his lap, crying tears of joy that they were okay.

While we were at it I'm gonna Jeremy strong tthis shit but in my way this may piss tom girls and tomgreg girls off anybody who watch succession lightly to
Succession is comedy in the sesne that it has comedic bits but shows alot behaviors traumatic realities people face
Succession seemingly outlandish behaviors like Jeremy performance of kendall is something I have seen in real life
And tomgreg isn't like a true love story more story of man isolating this scared 25 inexperienced man who acts way younger than his age from his family to gain power amd if you look at logan behaivor and then look at toms behavior towards greg the way tom belittles greg makes him feel unsafe and makes his reality unstable its extremely similar
Tom is Logan and its suposed be disturbing and its suposed to be alarming tom doesnt have the same relationship the company the kids and even Gerri does
Tom would be fun villain if he wasn't echoing Logan behavior that suggest that homosexuality isn't one thing and that kust because something or someone is gay doesnt mean there good
Now yes succession is everyone is bad
Succession doesnt have traditional villains because the villain is trauma its pain the villan of succession is an denial of reality its what Logan refuses to face his homosexuality is trauma his potential death he can't face it
and tom if anything is a example of just privilege he doesn't have the same immigrant identity issues the roys kids struggle with logan trauma that makes going to home where he was born really hard to the point he can't express it to hsi children tom never has to deal the abusiveness logan and ewan had from there uncle or what the roy kids mariane and greg receive from Logan and ewan
I will never understand the draw of tom because he thee epitome of entitlement and yah shiv is bad wife but she never hurts on purpose disregarding the I love you scene which is both her loving him but not being able to say because shes lesbian its also her knowing there something wrong so she cant commit and on some level its fair for him to he upset
Now i do think he loves shiv and greg but hes also a metaphorical tree and is fighting a battle of darkness
Tom is the villain in the sense that he's an entiled closeted white gay man who wanted power who also is abusive to the family little cousin
Succession is just like a goofy show its show about power dynamics of rich white people and how privilege in different ways is shaped by childhood and the way white supremacy matians its power
Its very funny to me that people dont take that seriously and act like its like silly show when it's handles the most interpersonal traumatic issues possible from the beginning when greg is concerned about a child possibly being sexually abused so he puts him in his car
Succession is basically like mad but now and to lesssen that is like removing the thesie is of the text

American Horror Story: Apocalypse - S08E01 REVIEW ♥️💀
Seeing as I'm so hyped for AHS and I have been Evan peters trash ever since Asylum, I've decided to start doing week by week reviews on the show lmao. (Basically what I liked/disliked about the whole thing ep and etc so....enjoy 😉)
.I didn't know what to think about this new season when I saw the trailer...so I didn't have that much high expectations ( cause I knew the last two episodes were most likely going to cover coven/haunted house characters anyway...so there was no reason for me to be hyped for the first episode lmao 🙄) so I didn't know what the rest of the show would entail...but boy was it good! ✊🏾✊🏾.
The end of the world storyline makes me so proud of Ryan because it had all the elements of making a great post apocalyptic movie 👏🏾 and I enjoyed it!
. Evan peters playing a gay hairdresser? 😂✌🏾 Ok. I Stan 🤣♥️👏🏾
.It annoyed me to the fucking core when it was the 'end of the world' and people in their office clothes were standing there or walking around like it was no big deal 💀. I know they are in shock but...come on dude 😩😭
MOVE YOUR ASS 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also you know DAMN WELL that driver could of gotten in that plane 🤣🤣🤣 like? Its not like the airport workers metal bars could penetrate the plane so what was the hold up? 💀 I just thought that part didn't make any sense 😂
. Btw who tf was driving the plane in the first place? Like who took off? ... Nah seriously I wanna know 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cause u can't expect me to believe the plane went into the sky by itself lmao. So unless this is Infinity War did the pilot vanish into thin air?
. Evan peters is a bae and I fcking love him! 🤣♥️ Totally the comedic relief in this shit storm. But it was sad af when him and that next guy was rubbed down of ' diseases' when it turns out it was BULLSHIT anyway 🙄🙄 like...my poor babe 😭💔
. These people who have been 'chosen' are kinda ungreatful highkey lmao. I know it's frustrating and the hospitality could have been better (cause it's shit tbh) but why don't they act like the teenagers and sit tf down and be quiet 🤣🤣🤣🤣. They have been there long enough to see how unhinged the staff r in there...i.mean..thats what I would do. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
. Now I don't know what's wrong with this physcopatyh but she needs to relax yo 🤣
I mean...yes I can see she is gonna be this seasons Villan but come on? Human meat? No sex or intercourse rule (how are they gonna repopulate 💀), tricking a person into thinking they were unpure so she could what? Wear a purple dress 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this girl.
But I am interested in her past though..like..how did she get there? Why does she have a cane? What is her background. All of these unanswered questions got me intrigued.
. They said they have been making this 'post apocalyptic' sanctuary (laughs) for years...and people (apparently) have paid money over time to be there in case the world ever got to shit...so tell me please... why is the only food available is just these small white cubes for 24 hours of the day 🤣🤣🤣🤣 like..what? They don't have any other edible food left over? I find that hard to believe lmao.
I wouldn't be surprised if the people in charge are fcking hiding it somewhere🙄.
. What is Cordelia Goode goal? Really? To kill everyone off and make their lives miserable? Cause she/her minions seem mad and high mighty for some reason 🤣🤣 like? What is going on?
. Now...before y'all roll your eyes. I couldn't care less. I ship these two already ♥️♥️♥️♥️ don't @ me 🤣🤣
(unless they do something stupid that could get them BOTH killed) I think they are cute lmao. The first romance of the show, some chocolate and vanilla swirl going on 😂😂, and a post apocalyptic romance? Relying on eachother when the world has gone to shit? I Stan 🤣🤣✌🏾 I just hope for my sake they make it!
TIMOTHY X EMILY 🔥♥️🔥♥️
Cause like...Tate and violet are a loss cause like ...literally and forever lmao . so...might as well? 👀🤣
. Now.. who tf is dis? 💀🤣
When he walked in he looked like a 'vampire pretty BOI' NGL 🤣. But how unnerved it got Cordelia Goode was reason enough for me to take interest in him 👏🏾👏🏾. He seems like the TOP DOG in all of this and had this very unnerving and a sinister evil presence about him (which ofc ain't good for the residents cause shit could get even worse 💀)but let's see what happens. Who knows? Maybe he won't end up a total asshole....but I ain't holding my breath.
Annyywaaaayy, I give this a 10/10 because the episode was actually good! I was entertained and I was at the edge of my seat and NEVER bored with what was going on. I'm so hyped for next week u don't understand! 🤣✌🏾.

TLJ Commentary
This is just my compilation of the different responses I had to folks who were sharing their metas/interpretations on The Last Jedi. Mainly for my reference since I might do a review/analysis in the future once I’ve got a copy of the bluray.
This will cover the following:
Finn and Rose in Canto Bight is not a useless arc.
Hux and why he can be a Big Bad.
Kylo/Ben and why he’s wrong on “letting the past die.”
Kylo/Ben is not worse than Anakin/Vader, like some people want to believe.
Kylo/Ben was let down by his family, but that doesn’t mean they are bad people.
Paige Tico - she is important.
Poe and his reaction to Holdo’s plan.
Rey’s parentage and why she really is a nobody.
Note: If you choose to read this, please keep in mind that this is my opinion and reflects how I read the movie. You can have a different interpretation.
1. Finn and Rose’s adventure in Canto Bight is not a useless arc, and highlights that we shouldn’t be viewing Star Wars as black and white. Originally posted here, in response to grejedi’s commentary here. @darth--darcy had some awesome points to add which you can find here.
The Canto Bight arc showed us several points: (1) that when you choose neutrality (just like DJ), you choose the side of the oppressor; and (2) that the good guy-bad guy dynamic depends on your point of view. Let’s focus on the second point.
Finn and the Resistance view the First Order as the Bad Guys; therefore, the Resistance is the group of the Good Guys. This is true to a certain extent - after all, the First Order somewhat represents oppression and fascism. But when the Resistance defeats them and the Good Guys win - what happens next? New government, another New Republic. Will it be a rehash of the Rebellion defeating the Empire? And then another form of the FO comes popping out? If I recall correctly, the new government/New Republic didn’t exactly live up to their promises and bring peace to the galaxy. There were still corrupt senators, and the system they established allowed the FO to breed in the first place. And their same system allowed the Canto Bight folks to profit from selling weapons. (And for a bigger picture – Jakku seemed like a forgotten town, with folks there suffering from extreme poverty. Didn’t they care about them?)
Both the FO and the Resistance (as well as the old Rebellion) contributed to the hardships of the galaxy. And maybe both have something good to fight for. Maybe instead of an all-out weapons war, these two groups could meet in the middle. Balance, anyone?
If you recall what Luke said in the teasers, “It’s so much bigger.” He was probably referring to the force, but I think it applies to the whole war as well. I try to understand that maybe some folks just do a surface read and walk away with incomplete tidbits and say, “Oh this is just another war movie: the Resistance is the underdog we must cheer for and Kylo and the rest of the FO are the oppressors the underdog must completely eliminate.”
But - newsflash - even real-life war isn’t so black and white. People need to dig deeper and understand - why did the war start in the first place? Were the "winners” really justified? What were the “losers” fighting for anyway? Because if we just take it at face value - “Oh, this group won because they were fighting for the good thing. Everything else from the losing side is garbage.” - we will just repeat the cycle. If the root cause isn’t addressed, the future will just be the same; the new government will again be ineffective and another insurgent faction will creep up.
Even the characters aren’t so black and white. The sequel trilogy wants its viewers to think and question what we know. Example: Luke, Leia, and Han.
One of the major beefs of the fans of the OT - and I know this has made countless rounds online - is that the original heroes didn’t turn out how they expected, i.e. always pure and good. “Luke was a hero at the end of the OT, he should remain a hero for the rest of his life. Leia and Han resolved their differences and got together, they deserve their happily ever after.” And to go against this will be out of character for them.
But what they need to realize is that people change and evolve depending on their experiences. The major characters of Star Wars weren’t meant to be one-dimensional. How boring will that be? Heroes can’t make good decisions all the time. We must give them room to make mistakes.
People make mistakes. People make bad decisions. People fall off from the high pedestals some put them on. We must be able to accept this. The way they wrote Luke, Leia, and Han made the characters very relatable – they’re people who make mistakes and bad decisions. Han AND Luke were able to accept this before they died. They knew that they failed Ben and confronted and apologized to him for it. And they moved on. But some viewers haven’t, apparently.
2. Just because Hux is not a Force user, and that he had some comedic moments in TLJ, does not mean he cannot be a Big Bad in Episode IX. Originally posted here, in response to daxcat79’s and i-live-in-the-reylo-moon’s post here.
While he had a lot of comedic moments in TLJ, you have to give Hux credit.
It’s been mentioned in various sources and by a number of folks that Hux is cutthroat and ambitious. He also has a delicate ego and is very sneaky. I believe the TLJ Visual Dictionary even states that he has an assassin on command – and that this assassin is afraid of Hux himself.
A see a lot of folks saying that Hux is weak and won’t be able to kill/plot against Kylo/Ben because he doesn’t have control over the Force. But recall Order 66? All those clones did not have any ounce of Firce power yet they were able to successfully eliminate most of the Jedi. The element of surprise + sheer numbers – I bet Hux has control over the First Order officers and troopers – can overpower even the most skilled Force user.
Personally, it will be interesting to see a big bad who cannot use the Force. Just like the Rey heroes-can-come-from-anywhere storyline, Hux can be the villans-can-come-from-anywhere one.
3. Kylo/Ben’s view of letting his past die is actually hurting him rather than making him move on. Originally posted here, in response to reylo11’s post here.
The only way to go forward is to embrace the past, figure out what is good and what is not good about it. But it’s never going to not be a part of who we all are.
This is what Kylo/Ben needs to realize. I feel that he struggles so much with himself because he’s so intent on killing his past (“Let the past die.”), even doing so literally. He wants to create a new version of himself by forgetting where he came from. He looks at his past with so much hatred. I understand that it wasn’t all fun and rainbows given that his parents abandoned him and his uncle and master tried to off him in his sleep (at least from his point of view). But instead of him accepting these experiences, he wants to throw them away as if they never happened. Because his view is these experiences make him weak.
Those who do not know how to look back to their past will not arrive at their future. One has to be able to look back into your past and accept all your experiences if you want to be the best person you can be.
We are made up of all our experiences, even the shitty ones we want to forget. They build character and make us a stronger person. The good things and the bad all contribute to our character. Kylo/Ben needs to accept this so he can finally decide what his future will be.
4. Kylo/Ben is not worse than Anakin/Vader. Originally posted here, in response to @renperor-of-the-galaxy’s post here.
Until the novelization comes out, we probably wouldn’t know what really happened in Luke’s Jedi temple. We just know that (1) Luke thought about offing Ben while he was asleep; (2) Ben misinterpreted Luke’s action as a definite attempt to murder; (3) Ben brought down the hut, rendering Luke unconscious; and (4) By the time Luke woke up, his temple was burning, some of his students were dead, and Ben was gone with a number of his other students.
It’s possible that Ben killed his fellow padawans/knights. It’s possible that he didn’t – maybe the two groups of students just fought it out. The thing is, we don’t know for sure. While Ben is known as “The Jedi Killer,” this could also be based off rumours.
To say that he is worse than Anakin/Vader isn’t quite right. Remember the scene in ROTS where the younglings looked up to Anakin while the temple was being attacked? “Master Skywalker, there’s too many of them. What do we do?” The younglings were so relieved to see him and then Anakin suddenly ignites his lightsaber. They were completely defenceless.
Now, versus Luke’s students – we don’t know if there were younglings. We don’t know if they were defenceless. If we go by the Visual Dictionary, it looks like they were Ben’s age, so would have been able to fight.
To sum it all up – calling Kylo/Ben worse than Anakin/Vader is premature.
5. On Ben’s family, and how it doesn’t mean they are bad people. Originally posted here, in response to a longer thread here (commentary by shallowlethargy, a-heart-of-kyber, and renpressrey).
There’s a difference between calling Luke, Leia, and Han as bad people vs bad parents. Antis need to understand this. Even good people - and heroes - make mistakes. For the Skywalker-Solos, it translated to not being there for Ben enough when he needed love and guidance.
To Antis saying Ben is a grown ass man so he should know better - not necessarily. His formative years weren’t exactly fun and nurturing: parents busy with other things, culminating with (from his POV) attempted murder from his uncle/second father figure could mess someone up. Add in Snoke to the mix and you have a very troubled person (which Kylo/Ben is).
He is still very conflicted (pull to the light, etc.) so this makes me believe he is inherently a good person. It’s just hard for him to reconcile this because of his experiences: the people on the “good” side (his family) didn’t exactly treat him right AND he has Snoke constantly whispering in his head. In a sense, he was sort of conditioned to act a certain way, which is very hard to break, no matter how old you are.
6. Paige Tico is also important. Snippet originally posted here.
I feel like Paige isn’t being talked about enough. Not gonna lie - I was so emotionally invested in Paige. Her death is the second saddest moment of the film for me, after the Reylo throne room conversation.
She gives a face to all the forgotten less-than-side characters who sacrifice themselves so the heroes can go save the day. Versus Holdo, who is a high ranking official, she shows that even the ordinary folks are able to contribute to the big picture.
7. Poe’s big lesson on trust. Originally posted here, in response to a longer thread here (commentary by hunterinabrowncoat, whtwlf, frozenmusings).
TRUST was really a big lesson for Poe.
Some people are complaining that Holdo just should have told everyone of her plan. From an audience standpoint, this would make the most sense; as a viewer, we won’t question the decision, right? And maybe we expect the characters/Holdo’s subordinates to do the same.
But the members of the Resistance are active participants in this. There’s a chance they won’t just “go with the flow.” There will be arguments, just like what happened with Poe. The mutiny could have happened earlier, and the Resistance will still be in a bad shape.
With the clock ticking on the Resistance, they just couldn’t afford drawn out discussions on what to do. Holdo had every right to make an executive decision. Given her rank and experience, as well as that of her team, she more or less knows the direction she should be going.
And guys, this happens in real life, too. You don’t have the leadership teams of various organizations (even non-military ones) broadcasting each and every detail of the plans they have as they go along. There may be a right time for this.
8. On Rey’s parentage. Originally posted here, in response to skysilencer’s analysis here.
Earlier in the movie (shirtless Force Bond scene), Kylo/Ben tells Rey that she can’t stop needing her parents who threw her away like garbage - “It’s your greatest weakness.” And this is true. Rey wanted to go back to Jakku, a backwater planet, because she’s still holding on to the idea of her parents coming back. She was willing to throw away her future and her potential because of this weakness.
As stated above, the delivery (especially the throne room) wasn’t exactly great, but it helped push Rey into the path of acceptance and moving on. I think a lot of people miss that she was the first one to admit that her parents were nobody. And what Kylo/Ben is telling her is that it is okay - okay that she doesn’t have a big background, okay that she doesn’t come from famous parents. And it’s great that she can now move on from the past! She defeated this weakness and can be what she was meant to be, so to speak.
Rian says, “If the answer presented to her was, ‘Your parents are so-and-so, here you go, here’s your place in this story.’ That would be the easiest thing for her to hear. And easiest thing for us to hear! Wish fulfilment. It’s like, ‘Oh, great! That’s who I am. That’s that.’ The hardest thing she could hear is, 'No, you’re not going to get that answer, that definition.’”
A lot of people were shocked over the reveal, which I guess was the point. As mentioned by Skysilencer above (and in other metas), the whole movie was about failure and subverting everyone’s expectations. A lot of folks expected Rey to come from somewhere - just like Rey was in denial and that her parents were coming back - and by revealing that she doesn’t come from an important family, we share her pain.
As talked in this article, Rey is on a journey of self-discovery. Her bigger conflict is not the current war of the First Order vs the galaxy - it’s figuring out who she is and what her place in the story is. To quote from the article, “To have her learn some kind of easy answer about a noble ancestry would not only immediately zap away that important conflict, but would also totally freeze and dismantle her important journey of self-discovery. Without the simple explanation, the heroine must stand on her own and carve out her own path, rather than just follow one already carved out for her.”

I think I should rephrase I don't see Namor as a villain but I do believe the movie villainizes him (or at the very least tries to get audiences to see him and his people this way) for reference I'm Latino American and so sick of my people being the villains or just the comedic characters in media) so this is the view I speak from.
I mean Africans because Wakanda has never been colonized i just got used to adding African Americans since I'm American.
Here are some of the reasons I believe the movie is villanizing Tukola
1) think it's rash that in response to the killing of a few guards Namor plays a direct hand in killing the Queen who is the strongest leader in the world and attacking the only other nation with vibranium.(maybe Namor has some 16th century wisdom that I don't see. I get he knows first hand of the evil of colonizers but I don't think that justifies him recklessly putting his people more in danger i feel that it negates his character and done by creators to drive plot further). I see how maybe it can be a large attack to show Wakanda that infiltrating its borders and killing their people will not to be taken lightly but to not only kill the leader of their nation but to have a direct role in it seems too much.
2) I was hoping Namor would have a direct relationship with the guards who were killed(revealed by flashback or any mention) give them a funeral like they did the Queen or show the population mourning and being afraid at the very least but so far they were his people so it meant to devastate the heads of Wakanda. If they'd shown his direct relationship I think Namor could be seen as how Shuri was depicted corrupt with vengeance (because Namor killed her mother) more.
3) I think the ultimatum Namor gives Wakanda is also villainizing(everyone interprets it differently and I think you're spot on about it'll vary depending on your ethnicity or life experience but to people who are yt and kids too young to understand they don't get either pov). It also negated his love for his society's safety because he jumps to an ultimatum pretty quickly.
4) this point adds to point 3. One reason I don't enjoy marvel as much as before is because they try to jam-pack too much into too short of a movie. These things could've been addressed if split into two movies but it was rushed into one instead.
5) Someone(theyre African American but obviously they dont speak for everyone of African heritage) also pointed out that those of African heritage are typically used as scapegoats even now(not much has changed since before) and Namor and his people are the ones putting Wakanda in that situation.
6) Namor and Talokan's weakness doesn't seem hard to figure out it's like that of most sea based creatures, and Namor knows that Wakanda has the resources and smarts to figure this out so why be so reckless.
7) the movie is called Black Panther Wakanda Forever. This one is obvious but I'll add it anyway. From the get-go audiences know who to root for and big movies like Marvel put it in your face who is the super hero who is the villain. People can make their own minds but the movie is pretty obviously trying to get audiences to lean one way more and people with the most agency can use it as a way to justify villainizing real world people.
Summary: I got excited to see the two work together to fight the real oppressors but that didn't happen creators opted to pit minority groups against each other yet again(like we don't get enough of this in the real world). Audiences may have loved or hated wakanda and Talokan fighting against the world thats been invading them for vibranium (it's kind of like Cap and Iron man fighting we don't want to see it but man do we want to see it). To me it felt like the creators didn't put enough to really validate a reckless and thoughtless war initiated by Talokan. Maybe they'll work together in the future but typically in media when someone kills a parent of the protag its hard to come back from.
Edited to add I'd love to hear from more Africans about this as well I don't have the same perspective so feel free to add. ^.^
Does anyone else feel like Wakanda Forever is driving hard at the Latino vs Africans?(I'm redacting Americans) I'm really bummed the first big Latino representation in the MCU movies were the villains and Namor's actions don't feel motivated it felt like more of a push for that Latino vs African Americans to garner views. Also it sounded like everyone was calling him Nemo?? Come one 💀

end of work week so No Brain Energy for a “full post” so here’s just like. a brain dump of stuff i liked and disliked about 7 deadly sins (s1). pretty spoiler-y
dislikes (so that we end the post on the most tasty part of the meal)
they give melio.das a flaw of “repeated sexual offender” with the same level of gravitas and plot-irrelevance that ya authors make their self-insert protagonists “clumsy” (i.e. it’s written as a “flaw” but doesn’t affect the plot and is often used for ““comedic effect””). unlike clumsiness though, repeatedly groping women should get a person arrested. thanks
elizabeth is still a damsel
jericho. not the feminist take that the author thinks she is. awful
ultimately the cool female villains turn out to be not that strong or important, and also get love interest’d with members of the main heroic cast (& both’s motives depend on a man)
depending on how her character arc ends up diane’s obsession with wishing she wasn’t a giant is kinda uncomfortable
i don’t mind that elaine looks young-ish but i find it uncomfortable that she has an anime kid voice to top it all off (in jp...?)
gil.thunder’s side-switch wasn’t appropriately established and his og character sucks. years of acting as a moustache-twirling bishie villain don’t appear to have affected his psyche in a meaningful way, and it’s impossible to come away knowing what he’s supposed to act like now
final villains of the first arc are BORING (i think they get more characterisation after they come back to life lmao)
usual shonen bullshit that is both a draw to the show and also makes threat levels kind of ridiculous and non-existent after a certain point (getting bogged down in endless fights, people coming back to life, refusal to acknowledge that maybe their society’s awful power structures are the problem, rapidly changing definition of “the most powerful villain EVER”, etc.)... all encompassed in one pig death fakeout
the weird fatphobic king thing
tiddy outfits. (though i don’t mind didane’s actually?)
more generalised misogyny
the most important hetero ships this season are mediocre
if you know king arthur shit you will know that everyone’s loosely based off of characters from arthurian myth. if you don’t know you will be so pissed when king arthur the 16yo sports anime character shows up to be like “YOUR NEXT ARC IS HERE”
holy SHIT the second opening song is so bad. it’s so bad y’all (the the first op for comparison)
likes
all the characters are adult colleagues (above everything else) and they act like it. (they’re... kind of found family nakama but there’s a bit more there.) they’re all unique, respected, practiced masters of their craft from the beginning of the story
gula & jericho for the when they were threatening were REALLY cool. i am so psyched at the thought of a random minor young female villain who is so badass & dedicated to the evil cause she’s willing to enter a near-death state to chase some random losers into hell. gula’s outfit slaps
(cw: suicide) ban is a really neat character. he’s like... an interpretation of a “vampire curse”. he was never really happy before he achieved immortality (seeking it only because ”if you live long enough, something good might happen to you eventually, i guess”), and getting it (by accident) only made him Worse - more self-destructive and more isolated from the people around him. he often can’t bring himself to care about much of anything, other people don’t care about him, and ultimately his existence is so fucked up and he’s laden with so much guilt that he doesn’t care about himself either. but he’s also a fun guy! incredibly powerful! will help you beat up your abusive dad! probably bi! also he has his tits out at all times and who am i to say no 2 that
personality: part of the reason that he’s isolated from other people (and othered) is his social class... but a main part of it is how his childhood kind of, created his personality. he doesn’t really connect to social norms (or laws), has niche interests, and has a “weird”, disconnected personality (again, made way worse by living 100 years past his lifetime). that being said, he’s not emotionally unintelligent, has interests outside of fighting, and is ultimately a good person
(maybe don’t read this one if you’re interested in watching? it’s all spoilers) Depression: ban willingly runs head-first into danger not just bc it’s a valid fighting technique for someone who can’t die but bc he’s... too ready to give up. but this reveal is only interesting bc it comes after like. a period of getting along with the group, being friends and having fun. ultimately hanging out with them hasn’t solved his problems - it’s just made him able to put them aside for a little while... until his trauma gets brought up, at which point he’s willing to take the first hint of an easy exit, despite how unlikely it is that it’d achieve his supposed goal, if it just lets him relieve himself of his guilt and existential suffering by letting him believe for just one second that he can fix all of the things that he “broke” with his own death (note: killing melio.das would have broken his heart and probably have been suicide by proxy). (this causes a lot of trouble and is not framed as positive, but it’s also not framed as all his fault. and he has to deal with the consequences of this? he realises in retrospect that it was an incredibly unsound idea? and lEAVES THE GROUP BC HE REALISES HE HAS TO TAKE A BREAK???)
comparing ban to a traditional vampire arc: unlike with vampires (who are often an allegory for a group of people, e.g. rich people or oppressed groups) there’s only one ban. and therefore instead of having a group with the same trauma he just suffers alone
meaningful conflict between the main characters. i don’t think i’ve ever really gotten this in a shonen show? there’s a LOT of unresolved trauma. the characters still work together bc they’re Adults... but it’s simmering
ban <-> meli: meli is the only person besides elaine who ever really understood ban... but that doesn’t mean that ban’s ok, now (in fact, the resentment about only being understood by one person kind of makes him... worse). (e: meli also has connections to the rare fantasy creature which started ban’s life hell). ban has too much damage to the point that he becomes a liability
ban <-> king: resolved early, but still good. king is convinced that ban is the cause of all of his suffering partly bc he’s too jealous to admit that smo else got close to his sister when he couldn’t; ban has enough guilt that he just Takes It. even afterwards their personalities are kind of incompatible so it’s fun to see them hang out
meli <-> (king <-> diane): relationship drama but it’s not a frustrating bc it’s relevant to each character’s flaws and Baggage (and the plot doesn’t bother to pretend that diane will end up with melio). king has a lot of guilt over accidentally (?) ghosting his family and SOME of it’s valid (but not all). king is jealous of meli for being the target of diane’s affection but also kind of lowkey thinks he doesn’t deserve her bc of the pain he’s caused her
meli <-> elizabeth <-> diane: diane KNOWS she’s not going to be in a relationship with meli but she still desperately holds onto hope. diane’s fears about being unlovable feed into her lack of self esteem as an oppressed (or at minimum, villanized) minority
elizabeth (the princess) is firmly a member of the team and her determination and character improvement is taken seriously. she DOES get badass moments BEFORE she’s revealed to be a reincarnated angel child or whatever
diane (the only female member of the 7 sins who has a big role this season) is consistently taken seriously (by the writers & other characters)
elizabeth & diane get to INTERACT!! and BE FRIENDS!!
i love elaine. first show i’ve seen that (unintentionally? & through fantasy tropes??) nails Older Sister Disease, i.e. the oldest female sibling being left to deal with all the family business, emotional and physical baggage, while all the male/younger siblings just fuck off. caring for your family members but also lowkey resenting them. they don’t invalidate her feelings even after relieving king of a little of the responsibility for her suffering. (i liked the romance prequel manga a lot - i p much only picked up the anime bc i bought into the romance b/w her and ban)
(despite everything) meli.odas acts like a proper leader for his squad. he takes his responsibilities seriously and treats his colleagues as his equals
ngl the twist with gowther disguising himself and his protagonist hair as a disposable marked-for-death npc was really funny
aesthetic is unique and distinct from the overdone isekai dnd fantasy that’s popular atm
the first ed song by flow & granr.odeo cheers me up every time
the feeling of going on an adventure with your buddies. it’s fun!
#pfssws#tl;dr the character relationships are interesting?#in smth like bleach or naruto there's either very little conflict b/w the protagonists OR there's a lot of dramatic heel-turning#but in this it's more like everyone's always on the same side but they have interconnected histories and traumas

Who's your favorite BNHA character?
Yay, first question!😊
I have a few actually, so brace yourselves! There are two in depth explanations about why I love Todoroki and Bakugou down a little further, but other than that, they’ll be in a list of three categories: student, hero/villain, and civilian.
Student:1. Shouto Todoroki (down below)2. Katsuki Bakugou (down below)3. Kirishima or Kaminari: I really love these two’s interactions with the class and each other. Both can be hilarious (especially Kaminari) and overall great kids. Tbh, these two are very relatable for me, which is why I really like them.4. Izuku Midoriya: Deku didn’t impress me at first, but soon began to grow on me. I see a lot of myself in Deku, making him very entertaining to watch.5. Jirou : It’s really nice to see a character like Jirou in an anime like this. I think it’s really easy to mess up a character like her and make her either way to punk or way to feminine. They found a perfect balance for Jirou. I also really love all the girls in 1-A since they’re all empowering in some way.
Heroes/Villans:1. TOGA HIMIKO: Ahhhh I love her so much. I really love her way of going about life in her own crazy way. Her quirk is also SO cool; I literally had to scream when I saw her in action at the hero license test cause she was so cool. I love her.2. Dabi: He’s the perfect down to earth villain that the league of villain need. Also his relationship with Toga is tbh the best, I love the two of them.3. All Might: I really would put him at 1, but I just really like those two a tiny bit more. All might is truly the greatest hero in every way. I love what he stands for and how he decided to help Deku. Also, his comedic timing is perfect. I love Dad Might.4. Best Jeanist: What he did to Bakugou was more than enough to earn this spot5. Erasurehead: He’s a great teacher and hero. Also me, tbh.
Civilians:1.MITSUKI BAKUGOU!!!!: Fave character because she is me.2. Inko Midoriya: She needs more love. All the mom’s do. She’s a great mom who I literally love with all of my heart. Throughout the story she is in the background rooting for her son, but will lay down the law. She is honestly a great mother.3. Fuyumi Todoroki and her mom: I really want to give them as much love as I can give. 4. Nana Shimura: She seems like such a great person, and I really wish Deku got to know her. She also has my favorite quote in the entirety of BHNA so far. “When you have to save someone, they’re usually in a scary situation. A true hero saves not only their lives, but also their spirits… That’s what I believe. So no matter how scary things get, give ‘em a smile, as if to say, “I’m a-ok”. The people in this world who can smile are always the strongest.“ 5. The Ochakos: They deserve more
The first character I really liked was Todoroki; he was just downright badass and I LIVED FOR IT. I really like the whole tournament arc in general, but I definitely enjoyed getting to know our boy Todo a bit more. Also there are some qualities that Shouto has that are not only hilarious, but also very realistic to the way his character was created. He’s tbh a great character overall, and it’s not just his looks (let’s be real it’s his looks lol) but also his development as a person and a future pro hero.
He is still one of my top characters, but I’ve started to really get interested in others, such as Bakugou. I really did not like him until the last two weeks; I especially did not like him for most of the first season of the anime, especially not the first episode. He got on my nerves and I never really found him to have anything to redeem his terrible attitude and actions to his peers. Then I read chapters 118-122 (I think) where he has his fight with Deku and it really moved me. I realized that once you find out what’s sort of going on in his head, he’s actually quite relatable. I’m really rooting for him right now in the sense that he can develop in to a great hero that everyone loves. Also, Katsuki is REALLY FUCKING SMART. There is so much unsaid about his skills to possess and retain knowledge, but also to apply it to his life or in battle. Overall, Bakugou is really growing to be a great character that I love. Sorry this is so long lol. I have a lot to say.
