TF2 nationality headcanons

(I think of RED and BLU as separate characters, who might just happen to look/act alike)

RED Scout - american (Boston, MA) (his ma has irish ancestry, from Galway - I saw this headcanon somewhere and I love it)

BLU Scout - filipino-american (NYC)

RED Soldier - american obv (Atkins, AR) (I know that he's supposed to be from the midwest but I don't care. I headcanon that his dad is from Idaho and his mom is from Ohio. Also I think he's like 25% native or something because I think it'd be funny/interesting if he's not 100% White American™)

BLU Soldier - american obv (somewhere in Virginia) (he was raised by eagles in the Appalachian wilderness, so he barely speaks coherent english)

RED Pyro - chinese (somewhere in the south, but spent most of their childhood homeless in Shanghai) (they never told anyone and it's unlikely they ever will. The only people who know are Pauling and the Spies, but none of them will tell) (I know it's a popular headcanon but I never really saw them as mexican, sorry)

BLU Pyro - irish (Dublin) (their muffled voice is made harder to decipher due to their hardcore irish accent. BLU Demo can understand it best)

RED Demoman - scottish (Ullapool) (literally canon)

BLU Demoman - scottish (Glasgow)

RED Heavy - russian (somewhere in far eastern Siberia) (his family doesn't look white, especially Zhanna, so I think they're probably some kind of siberian people)

RED Engie - american (Bee Cave, TX) (I hc the Conaghers as a whole to be a mix of white & latino, so the Engies speak spanish as a second language and often just switch to it to exchange praise/insults/advice without others noticing)

BLU Engie - american (Bee Cave, TX) (RED Engie's cousin although doesn't have the Conagher surname actually)

RED Medic - german obv (Stuttgart) (jewish, although his family probably converted to christianity many years ago and either way they're not particularly religious, Medic is actually the "most religious" of his immediate family but that's just because he knows Satan exists)

RED Sniper - new zealander, half-māori (born in Auckland, raised near-ish to Perth)

BLU Sniper - australian, half-aboriginal (somewhere in the outback in Queensland) (the half-aboriginal thing is also a headcanon I saw somewhere and happily adopted)

Scout/Pyro/Medic x Gender neutral! Reader enemies to lovers romantic headcanons Summary: How cruel you are for a Blu merc. Warnings: Reader is the 10th merc for Blu team (what kind of merc isn't specified), red team headcanons, (not a warning but just a statement) Pyro uses interchanging she/he/they pronouns, mention of violence (not descriptive). Scout:

It’s insanely easy to become his enemy with how boastful he is, you wouldn’t even need to be on the enemy team to become an enemy of his. Scout is very vocal about his accomplishments and genuinely views himself as better than many, especially Blu team.

While out on the battlefield, you heard him loudly proclaiming his excellence and kill him from annoyance. You are on the opposing team just makes it worse on his end, sitting in respawn and realizing you had also killed him several times before. Other interactions with opposing forces lead to him in respawn because of you! You!

Scout would target you more times than not, intentionally hitting you while reprimanding you. After his constant violence against you, your annoyance would turn to hatred.

It is more likely you both meet when Miss Pauling is going about getting the mercs together for the Administrator. You both were stuck together and were forced to talk, mainly being encouraged to stop any violence that could possibly entail.

Scout would, again, naturally, degrade you and tell you you weren’t as important as he was for the team. It would go on for such a long time, even the other mercs (for both Blu and Red) getting annoyed by it.

It would be a gradual care he would get, starting with compliments that he would hide with a bit of degradation.

“You’re really good at killing the robots but I’m, like, ten billion times better at it. Don’t get your hopes up on being better.”

When he gets back to Red with Heavy, he’ll spend his time telling you how his muscles are huge because he pushed the ginormous rock ten feet and how Heavy was like “woah!” and stuff. Scout will state it’s to show how much better he is than you but it’s to see if you find that attractive.

You probably ask him out. He was going to, but he was so busy hyping himself up for it he forgot the time! Scout will act like he knew and that he understood why you’d fall for such a gorgeous man as himself. Of course, he’s a tomato but will accept your proposal of a date almost instantly.

“Of course you’d fall for me, who wouldn’t!”

Medic:

It’s likely you were a faster merc, making it around the battlefield quick enough to harm several red mercs and making Medic run around helping them. Your existence is draining and beyond annoying. You don’t deal enough damage to kill them but just enough to have them need his help.

Medic would spend his time encouraging you to just go for him personally.

“You might as well go for me to get the others down, no point in running around if I’ll just get them fixed.”

And you then wake up in respawn.

With the news from Miss Pauling needing Red and Blu to work together, he was one of the most annoyed. Medic would have to deal with you. You! And it’s not like you’d like him back, those little stunts where he’d taunt you then kill you didn’t fly with you.

He’d find a way to get Archimedes to attack you whenever you were near his lab.

To encourage him to be kind to you, you allow him to experiment on you. Don’t expect him to be kind but he’ll enjoy it. It’s mostly because, in that situation, he’ll have the upper hand.

Will use the experiment times to do random things to you, whether it’s detrimental or not is not fully disclosed while he’s working. You’ll hear him giggling while he’s about doing his own thing, you’ll ask why, and he’ll answer by saying it’s nothing (it’s not nothing).

Most likely in denial when it comes to his feelings since you’re so annoying! And you aren’t entertaining to watch but he does like looking at you. Medic will claim it’s because you’re funny looking when in reality, it’s because he’s trying to understand why he feels the way he does. But he can’t fully accept his feelings.

It’s quite entertaining to witness you doing stupid things while fighting the OG Team Fortress mercs with Medic watching, going through the five stages of grief when he realizes he’s still attracted to you.

He’s the most likely one to ask you out once everyone is at a calmer point in the mission. Medic will not be traditional about his proposal, simply giving you a well-kept human heart for the occasion. Don’t gag, of course.

“It’s very nice, very pristine. I kept it in good shape for you!”

Pyro:

If Pyro hates you, it’s more likely because you’re a water based merc for Blu team. You would go around helping fix the fires she had created intentionally. It would then lead to a hatred that he couldn’t deny, absolute hatred.

They’d target you at random points on the battlefield, especially in water areas where you’d more likely be around. The hatred you gain is because she’s a fire based merc, just simple hatred, maybe even stereotypical. But who cares, you both hate each other.

When out and about on a random morning, Pyro found you alone, sitting with the water. She naturally tries avoiding you since it wasn’t something he wanted to deal with in the morning. Then you stopped them and tried encouraging a normal coworker relationship because Miss Pauling needed Red and Blu to work together.

The way Pyro would be grateful Blu members can’t understand him is beyond words, she quietly makes remarks about the way you do things and Red team would be forced to listen to whatever they had to say about you.

If you tried being kind to him, she’d take it with a grain of salt. You set a fire for them? Are you going to torture him by putting it out before she can truly enjoy it? They bet you will!

It wouldn’t take as long as the others when it comes to gaining feelings for you. Yeah, Pyro is violent but when you need to work together and you’re putting an effort into making him happy, she can’t deny the feelings they gradually get for you.

It would be a quiet crush thing. She follows you around since he doesn’t know how to fully express to you how they feel. And it’s also because she kind of wants to admire you but that’s not for you to know.

Another thing Pyro does is constantly try protecting you. She knows other mercs don’t like him for the fire and stuff, so they’re beyond willing to follow you around to help you.

Pyro vision gives hearts around you.

Asking you out will be eventual, but very difficult. Once, she tried being vocal about his feelings and you couldn’t understand a word. Then, they turned to note writing and that went ten times better.

Pyro adores when you kiss their mask, especially the areas that would be considered mouth areas. You’ll never see her without the mask, but you’ll get used to it.

My Merc LGBTQ Headcanons

Disclaimer: my headcanons aren't set in stone so these are like, what I assume them to be in the average fic I write unless stated otherwise. For example, usually I headcanon Medic as bisexual, but I might make him gay in an AU if I want to explore that instead. And I might make a merc I usually headcanon as cis trans if that's a story I want to explore with them.

Scout: Bisexual and hasn't quite come to terms with it yet. He has a strong preference for women, but being stuck living closely with a bunch of men definitely has him experiencing thoughts he never did before.

Soldier: Transgender and technically bisexual, but he thinks he's straight because he considers having sex with Demoman every night 'masculine male bonding to strengthen our manly friendship'. Demoman doesn't have the heart to tell him that yeah, it's pretty gay. He's trans because the hypermasculine American patriot named Jane Doe of all things is just Valve spoonfeeding transgenderism to me. I also like to entertain the idea that he's forgotten that he's trans (lead poisoning) and regularly breaks into the medbay screaming at Medic about how the communists stole his penis until Medic finally gives up and just gives him bottom surgery.

Pyro: Genderqueer butch lesbian who uses any and all pronouns.

Demoman: Pansexual, it makes no difference to him what gender his lovers are. I think he's known this for a long time too, no sexuality awakening that caused him any turmoil, just always knew that he didn't have a preference.

Heavy: Gay, and unlike Demoman, he definitely did not know until very late in his life. After joining Team Fortress, to be exact. After meeting Medic, to be exactly exact. Living in isolation for so long definitely stunted his ability to explore his sexuality. He had a 'crush' on a girl when he was about 6, but he only liked her because she had red hair that he thought was pretty. Looking back, it meant about as much as a crush when you're 6 can be expected to mean. He always assumed that the reason he didn't feel a desire to find a woman and settle down, like his mother always hoped he would, was because he hadn't met enough women to want such a thing, and if he did meet the right woman, that's when the feeling would click. Then the feeling ended up clicking instead with a maniacal doctor who liked putting black market zoo organs in him.

Engineer: Biromantic and sex neutral asexual. He always assumed he just liked women, simply because he didn't realize he could like both. After Medic told him that he liked both women and men, things started making a lot more sense. He can handle being in some specific sexual situations, but he refuses to be on the receiving end of anything, and exclusively gives.

Medic: Bisexual, reciprosexual/recipromantic. In simpler terms, Medic does not feel romantic or sexual attraction to anyone unless he knows for certain that they're attracted to him first. As a result, he has never made a first move in his life, and is also sometimes very bad at picking up on romantic advances unless they're extremely blunt.

Sniper: Gay, I don't really know what else to say he just gives me huge homo vibes. He probably got a mindblowing handjob from a bloke behind a Macca's that changed his life or something. Yes I think high-tech TF2 Australia that's basically a spoof of Wakanda still has Macca's why wouldn't they.

Spy: Bisexual, I'm going to be honest I don't spend a lot of time thinking about Spy's sex life but he definitely fucks men look at him just look at him. He's fucking men. And Scout's mother but also men.

Soldier x Demoman / Boots n Bombs

Starting off with a Demoman ship cause this man does not get enough love I think. These two enable each other's stupidity to an incredible degree. They're both geniuses in the art of reckless stupidity, and with their brains and hearts combined they could be making new inventions like "ultra turbo sticky-nade launcherator" and it flings them 8 miles in the air and they die instantly (but they both cheer and think it's awesome once they're revived and they do it again. Medic doesn't care, but he's getting a bit bored of piecing together the same two bodies over and over again). These two would become masters of destruction. I also can imagine them passed out on the couch on top of each other, or Soldier waking up to do drills at 4 am and Demo telling him to fuck off (Soldier can't help it, his love language is explosives and boot camp </3). I like them a lot.

Scout x Sniper / Speeding Bullet

I will admit, I am a bit of a Scout hater when it comes to ships... Actually I'm just a Scout hater in general. However, I do think the dynamic of "annoying little shit" plus "gruff weird guy" works. Scout is the type to press his partner's buttons for the funnies (although he does this with his friends as well) but given how he was in Expiration Date as well as the Cold Day In Hell comic (if I remember right), then he would be genuinely caring and considerate toward his partner's feelings. Scout would push his buttons, but an hour later he'd be splayed out on top of Sniper and rambling about his day. Sniper is more blunt and to-the-point with affection, I think. He'd bother Scout right back, of course, and he'd just as happily sit there and nod along to whatever the hell Scout is talking about. These two would stay up until 5 am together several nights in a row.

Heavy x Pyro / Bear Grill

Since it's such a rare pair, there's some debate on what the ship name actually is. "Russian Wildfire," and "Heavy Fire" are the alternatives I've seen after scouring the tags. I'd like to toss my own suggestion in with "Firing Squad," although that could probably work for other ships too. I personally really like the hc that Pyro is (maybe aro?)ace, and I think that works well with Heavy (I also hc it/they Pyro but any pronouns work for this lil guy tbh). Heavy would support his little maniac's vested interest in fiery homicide just ignore the fact that he says he's scared of them in Meet The Pyro that's not important right now, and I think Pyro would really like watching Heavy use Sasha (the muzzle flash would be really neat in Pyro Vision). Outside of battle, I can imagine Heavy taking care of his guns while Pyro talks to him and tells a (very muffled) story. Heavy would listen to it when it talks about all the wonderful things it sees during their battles, and Heavy would maybe defend it when the other mercs start talking about how terrifying it is... Maybe. They're still very concerning.

Engineer x Heavy

There is no damn posts about this. "Heavy Metal" is a slightly popular one but "More Gun" has been suggested a lot, as well as "Mechanical Literature." I personally like More Gun(s), and I honestly really like this ship, and I feel like it works really well for the same reason that they both work well with Medic--they're both relatively calm and amicable compared to the rest of the team. I feel like Engie and Heavy would be the parents of the team, telling people to go to bed before 3 am and not to explode things in the house (it doesn't work but they can try) (and Engie probably has been the source of one or two fires but not necessarily on purpose). These two would be sickly together. Engie'd be going "good morning Misha 🥰✨" and tap Heavy's shoulder until he leans down far enough to let Engie kiss him on the cheek, and Heavy would give a quiet happy hum as Engie whistles away and they make me sick. I love them so much.

I also think that Engineer would give Heavy some absolutely monstrous artillery as a gift. They absolutely enable each other's horrific acts of bloodshed. More Gun <3

Characters: Spy, Pyro, all the other mercs, and Miss Pauling (primarily Spy and Pyro, but everyone else has important moments too)

Warnings: TF2-typical violence, PTSD, panic attacks, trauma in general (none of these guys are okay)

Description: After the events of the comics, the mercs try to go back to how things were, but it's never that easy.

Spy can see his teammates going through their own struggles… but something seems to be very, very wrong with Pyro in particular.

And since no one else seems to be doing anything about this, Spy makes it his mission to get to the bottom of what is troubling Pyro. For no particular reason.

Prologue

They were pretty sure they knew what awaited them when they got to Gray Mann's base. Or, Spy was sure, anyway. Mann was after the same Australium they were, and they'd be interrogated for what little they knew. And he wasn’t going to get that information out of them easily.

Spy’s tongue nudged one of his fake teeth. The time would come for that eventually.

His suspicions were confirmed when Demo, still distraught from the loss of Sniper, was dragged out by a couple of the enemy mercs, who snickered over the ways they could "make him talk."

That left him, Miss Pauling, Soldier, Zhanna, and Pyro, all of them chained up in a tiny room, waiting out their fate.

Well, until that thing entered.

It was the other team's pyro. Their Pyro perked up with an interested hum when it saw the other, only to jump—as much as it could with its feet chained to the floor—when the enemy pyro removed its face.

Spy had, admittedly, been caught off-guard, but rolled his eyes immediately after. This was not like their Pyro. This one was a human—a woman, her face scarred with old burns and one eye missing, her hair pepper gray with half her scalp scarred over. The fact that she was human had startled him more than any disfigurement could have.

Of course, he had to remind himself that his team was the exception, as always. They'd become so accustomed to the incredibly strange nature of their comrade that it felt eerie to actually see a human behind a similar mask.

Pyro must have felt the same, with the way it tilted its head with a hum of consternation.

The woman stared at it in turn. "Hm. This one seems promising."

Miss Pauling's head shot up, but Spy nudged her and subtly shook his head.

Unfortunately, Soldier was not on their wavelength. "That one? HAH! If you need a building burned to the ground, maybe! But Pyro doesn't talk!"

One of the woman's eyebrows raised in interest. "Really."

Spy shut his eyes, imagining himself flipping open his butterfly knife and driving it through Soldier's throat.

"Nope! It's completely incomprehensible! It can’t tell you anything! The rest of us won’t, either—we will not yield under torture, especially not me. Though I'd love to see you try!"

"Soldier, no!" Zhanna cried. "I must be tortured first!"

But the enemy pyro did not respond to them—likely still staring at their Pyro. "It doesn't, eh?" she said, putting a heavy emphasis on the pronoun. "Good. I like a challenge."

Seconds later, several robots filed into the room, immediately heading for Pyro and unlocking its shackles from the floor. Pyro mumbled something at them.

"Wait, no!" Soldier cried. "Pick me, pick me! I'm a good challenge!"

But the robots paid them no mind as they escorted Pyro out, and Spy cracked an eye open to see it showed no signs of worrying about what was about to happen. The door slammed shut, and he let out a sigh, tipping his head back. "Soldier, you are going to get us all killed."

"We're gonna die anyway!" Soldier protested. "We can at least go down fighting!"

"We are not going to go down fighting, you imbecile. We are—" He stopped himself there, deciding he didn't particularly want to reflect on their fates with someone who wasn't going to care anyway.

"Poor Pyro," Miss Pauling murmured. "What are they going to do to it?"

Spy shrugged. "Better it than us." He lowered his voice. "With luck, they'll waste several hours trying to get information out of it before they realize Soldier, idiot that he is, was more-or-less telling the truth. That may buy us some time."

"You think we can still get out of this?" she whispered, hope edging into her voice.

"Not likely. We're probably delaying the inevitable." His tongue nudged one of his molars.

"We'll have to hope.” Miss Pauling sighed, staring at the door. "I guess Demo or Pyro could break out."

Spy barely resisted the urge to snort. "The drunkard? Not likely. Pyro? Who knows."

"I still can't imagine what they would do to it."

Spy tipped his head back to regard the ceiling for a moment. "Who can say? Waterboarding, perhaps?” A random guess, and he snorted at the absurdity of it. “Though I struggle to imagine what could break that creature."

"Neither could the Administrator. That's one of the reasons she recruited it." Miss Pauling shook her head. "If that's the case, maybe it'll find a way to break out. And break us out of here."

"Unless it decides to burn down the whole base with us inside. Regardless, resisting torture and breaking free are two different things. But we shall see."

Soldier groaned. "But when's it gonna be my turn to get tortured for information?"

"Will be our turn soon," Zhanna reassured him.

Spy heaved a sigh, and Miss Pauling shut her eyes.

They sat in uncomfortable silence (save for Soldier and Zhanna's chatter) for some time, Spy keeping an eye on the door while Miss Pauling stared at the floor, lost in her own thoughts.

The minutes ticked on. For how long, Spy was uncertain—he couldn't reach his watch to read it, and the feeling of dread in the air was not helping with their perception of time. Next to him, Miss Pauling occasionally muttered to herself, and every so often he could pick up phrases.

"...and we could go back to Australia, and..."

"...if Scout or Heavy are still out there..."

"...and Sniper could... wait, no..."

Sighing, he almost considered tuning her out, but it was a good distraction from his nicotine cravings, at least.

At some point, she raised her head. "Where is it?"

Spy raised an eyebrow. "Hm?"

"Pyro. They've been keeping it for a long time."

"Yes. Demo has been gone for some time, too."

"Yeah, but... they can get information out of him." She turned to face him again, and an unspoken question hung in the air.

Spy returned her gaze. "Miss Pauling, if you are under the impression that we are in the hands of anyone other than violent sadists, I do not know what to tell you."

Before she could react, the door burst open.

“I VOLUNTEER!” Soldier cried, straining against his manacles.

But instead of their captors, Pyro stumbled into the room.

Spy would have hoped that it had indeed broken loose and come to rescue them had it not been for the fact that its hands were shackled behind its back.

The robots escorted Pyro to the end of the bench, where they shackled its feet to the floor. Meanwhile, the enemy pyro stepped into the room.

"Finally!" Soldier exclaimed. "You've had your turn, Pyro. Now it's mine!"

"Our turn," Zhanna corrected.

With an unfriendly smile, the woman turned to face them. "If you insist."

While the robots got to work escorting the two least intelligent people out of the room, Spy and Miss Pauling looked over their recently-returned companion. "Pyro?" Miss Pauling whispered. "You okay, buddy?"

Pyro said nothing, sitting still on the bench and facing forward.

"...Well, it looks okay, anyway." Miss Pauling shrugged. "Guess the Administrator was right."

"Hm." Spy's eyes narrowed as he continued to look Pyro over. While it was true that it looked more-or-less uninjured—the suit was a little roughed up, but that was it—he couldn't be too sure that it was unharmed. The enemy wouldn't have just done nothing with it, and the way Pyro did not answer them, nor even respond to its surroundings, was not encouraging.

Nor was the fact that it was trembling.

But before he could analyze Pyro's behavior any further, the doors burst open again, and this time a barely-coherent Demo was practically dragged into the room.

In the whirlwind of events that followed, the torture that their fellow mercs had endured was nearly all but forgotten.

But it would not stay that way.

This blog will be centered around my own headcanons for the characters, including agere/petre/agedre related headcanons, gender/sexuality headcanons and personality headcanons!

Of course i will try to keep their personalities as close to canon as i can when running this sort of blog, but theres going to definitely be a lot out of character most likely!

How does this work?

Its rather simple, just send in an in character ask and youll get an in character reply!

If you send a not in character ask, or an ask towards me or about the lore, ill answer accordingly!

You can send the requests to specific characters, just specify who!

Sadly right now there wont be any art to go along with it but theres a chance ill start adding some if i can later on :)

Is there a story or plot to this?

Sorta yes! The main idea is the usual, the merce live in the same house/base and hang out out of work! Only differences is that miss pauling lives there too, and saxton lives close enough to come by a lot!

This is set in the red base specifically, where its much warmer and sunnier!

In this, red team is the originals and blue team are slightly tweaked clones! Its confusing and wont be brought up much though. The blue team acts different and have different likes/dislikes, and they live in a very cold area.

What you should know about the cloning thing is that the spys are both fathers of their respective scouts, red spy and red scout and blue spy and blue scout! Scouts ma does sorta know about the clones, she just chooses not to think abt it too much /hj

Who regresses in this? Why? To what? (+ pronouns)

Scout (he/they) - age regressor and babysitter! He regresses usually around 4 to 8 usually, but some days he can get down to 2. His main cg is engineer but he also likes to be cared for by spy

Sniper (he/him) - flip! He regresses to around 5 or 6 usually, only gets littler under high stress. He mainly likes being cared for by heavy, but doesnt mind to be babysat by saxton or engie

Pyro (they/it) - age regressor and temporary babysitter sometimes! Has the biggest age range, 1 to 15, but usually stays in the 5 to 8 range, but sometimes dips all the way to 1 or 2. Their primary cg is engineer, and they are almost always a bit little honestly, they also love being babysat by heavy and medic!

Engineer (they/he) - flip with caregiver lean! He doesnt regress often and he even less will he let himself be cared for without a fuss, but when he does he goes veeery young, 0 to 3 at best! Hes a very warm father cg though and the main one for pyro and scout

My TF2 Headcannons and favorite ships :D

I recently got back into TF2 and that made me think about my old headcannons and ships. Of course, some things have changed over time, but I’m still going to share them with you :3

Demoman: Demoman is bisexual and uses he / him pronouns. His best friends are Soldier and Engineer, yet he a bit scared of Pyro. Because fire and explosives don’t go together that well.

Engineer: Engineer is a demiboy, he uses he / they pronouns interchangeably and he is omnisexual. He is friends with most members of the team and loves helping them out whenever they have a problem. He also enjoys designing weapons or machinery for them to use. Demoman and Pyro are his best friends. And he is in a relationship with Spy.

Heavy: Heavy is gay and uses he / him pronouns. He is usually the calm and chill guy, who will only get angry at you if you either eat his sandwich or if you touch his precious gun. Otherwise he’s always there if you need someone to talk to and he is good at keeping secrets. He is in a relationship with Medic, who is the only Merc that was allowed to touch Heavy’s gun. Also Heavy is extremely protective of the Medic and Archimedes. Because Heavy loves birds.

Medic: Medic is asexual and homoromantic and uses he / him pronouns. He is in a loving and wholesome relationship with Heavy. One time on Heavy’s birthday, he gifted him a bird, a dove to be exact, because he knew that Heavy loves animals, especially birds. And now Archimedes has a friend too.

Pyro: No one really knows Pyro’s assigned gender at birth. But that’s not important. Pyro identifies as genderfluid and is fine with any pronouns. But they / them might be their preferred choice. They also bought a pansexual pride flag, so it’s safe to assume that Pyro is pansexual. They enjoy doodling and sometimes Pyro even gifts some of their drawings to the other Mercs. But only to the ones they truly like. Engineer has accumulated a collection of sketches and artworks from Pyro and he puts them up on a wall in his workshop.

Scout: Scout is ftm trans, bisexual and uses he / him pronouns. The time he came out to his team, he was super nervous and afraid that they wouldn’t support him. But he soon realised that they are extremely accepting of him. To his surprise Spy was the first one to use his preferred name and pronouns.

Sniper: Sniper is gay, demisexual and uses he / him pronouns. While he may seem quite introverted to most people, there are some who have seen his unhinged side. One of these people being Soldier. Speaking of which. Both men, Sniper and Soldier are in a relationship. While Sniper tried his best to keep the relationship a secret, Soldier however couldn’t help himself but to tell everyone about it. At first Sniper was a bit angry at Soldier, but he couldn’t be mad at the American for long, due to his personality.

Soldier: Soldier is also gay and uses he / him pronouns. He isn’t the brightest member of the team and he often does stupid things, that get him into trouble. Maybe that’s a trait Sniper finds cute. Who knows. At least he found himself a boyfriend, who doesn’t mind him teleporting bread and hoarding buckets.

Spy: Spy never talked about his sexuality, nor gender identity. But he uses he / him pronouns. Regarding the fact that he is in a relationship with Engineer, it’s safe to assume that he is not straight. He loves spending time with his boyfriend, even if that means having to accompany him to home depot. Typical things dads do…

American Aviators - My fav ship headcannons:

- To have at least some privacy, Sniper and Soldier share Sniper’s van. While it isn’t spacious, neither of them mind it, since both of them enjoy their company.

- Neither of them have that much relationship experience, so they tried out the classic ideas for date nights. Going to a restaurant, the movie theatre, etc. But neither of them enjoyed it. So the next time they went camping, fishing and hunting. Which was much more enjoyable. It was also the first time for Sniper taking a couple of days off work.

- Even though Soldier is shorter than Sniper, he is in fact the big spoon. He loves holding his boyfriend close to him and cuddling with him. Something he also does in public, giving Sniper hugs, picking him up and carrying him around from a to b.

- Sniper doesn’t mind that Soldier has great interest in teleporting bread. One time he even teleported his Jarates, because of Soldier.

- Soldier often plays with Sniper’s hair. While Sniper doesn’t really like it when someone messes with his hair, he has given up on telling Soldier to not do it. Because he will do it nonetheless.

- The longer they have been in a relationship, the more extroverted, unhinged and crazy Sniper has become. Especially when the both of them are together, they partake in stupid, maybe even dangerous activities. One time Soldier tried to teach his boyfriend how to rocket jump, which lead to Sniper getting injured quite badly. Soldier had to carry Sniper to the Medic to get him fixed up.

- Soldier is the only member of the team, who’s allowed to drive Sniper’s van. And for once, Soldier has actually been careful handling the vehicle.

Number one, I'm here from your science party fic and oh my GOD? I adore how you wrote all of the mercs, especially Medic! He's a wonderful balance of silly, scary, and just...Generally unhinged. Wonderful. Amazing. Mwah. Thank you sm for feeding my science party brain.

!! Thank you so much!! I love writing all of the mercs so much,, and with Medic I put 110% of my effort and energy into  making him the manic and eccentric maniac that I know and love. What a little goofball. Same with the others. They're all so much fun to write with their wacky personalities and such. I'm glad I was able to give something to the other Science Party fans and make more propaganda for the ship. <3

Now for the ships. I've got a lot of neutral opinion, but I'll just ramble about some that I like quite a bit in particular, namely Red Oktoberfest, Sniper/Spy, Speeding Bullet, Napoleon Complex, Boots N' Bombs, etc. They're not going to be nearly as in-depth as with my Science Party ramble, but I just like em'.

Now, onto the others. I really like Red Oktoberfest. It's like Science Party, though I wouldn't say Heavy is nearly as unhinged as Engie. It's sweet and nice, but I prefer Science Party over it just because I prefer Medic and Engie's dynamic. Still really nice. I also love reading that one 13k word essay on Ao3 that goes into detail on all of the content on it every now and then.

Speeding Bullet is another one I like. I like the two of them just being together and goofing around. They truly are the ADHD vs Autism ship. I do like Sniper's more collected attitude and Scout's rambunctious behavior and the two of them butting heads. The ship also reminds me of how Sniper is only four years older than Scout, which is wild to me. I always think of him in his late thirties as opposed to being like...26 when he first meets the team.

In a similar vein, I like Sniper/Spy. I can see the two of them bickering with each other because of the other's lifestyle (Sniper throws jars at people and lives in a van while Spy is French), but overall having some sort of respect for each other because of their professionalism. They do care about each other, even if they don't like saying it.

Boots N' Bombs is a classic. I love how Valve just created an entire update and so much content for these two. They work really quite well together. It's amazing how well their personalities compliment each other and there's plenty of room for both humor and angst. They're really just neat.

Napoleon Complex is just neat. I like it. I find their personalities clash, but really match on another. Engie's laid-back and hardworking salt-of-the-earth nature and Spy's more up-tight and professional vibe is just nice.

Again, most of these I see as being platonic. I do like considering and watching others portray them as romantic, but I overall see them all as close friends. I've got a lot of writing ideas on all of those ships though.

Pyro I don't really ship with anybody mostly because I see them as That Guy. Not exactly a little sibling or somebody who can't feel love or show emotion, but I can't really...see them as ever being involved with anybody romantically. I am an unlabeled any-pronouns single Pyro fan. They just wanna be friends and have a tea party with the whole team.

But, now I suppose is the time where I let the two ships that've spawned from the depths of my psyche out onto the world. I should mention that I'm a delusional fanfic writer, meaning I that when I see a character, my first thought would be how they would react to another character. This is how you get rarepairs, folks.

With that being said, I like Merasmus & Medic and Pauling/Bronislava.

so, here are my personal, tf2 sexuality, and interest headcannons.

Scout, as I've mentioned, is trans (ftm) and bisexual. Because, yeah. Mhm. He's into comics, specifically superhero ones like Marvel and Dc. He loves Spider-Man, Captain America, and Shazam. He started transitioning when he was 20. His mother was always supportive of him, plus she knew, he was super masculine when he was young, influenced by all his older brothers, plus, he never really liked the feeling of being a woman anyway. Pyro is transfem, I usually use he/they for them in my work, but that's cause I don't usually put my headcannons in my work. But I think I'll start doing that :)

Pyro uses any pronouns, likes mlp duh, and also has a weird obsession with motorcycles, totally random but it started when engie got him a motorbike one day and then she got super into it.

Soldier doesn't realize it, or cares, but he's pan. Made out with demoman a bunch drunk at a party so everyone knows, but he doesn't ever remember. When asked if he swings both ways, he will give you a slightly confused look. "YES! I GO LEFT, AND RIGHT. WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT?" (He/him)

Demo is bi, that man cannot be straight I'm sorry. Bi, kissed a boy once as a teenager and since then on he's had very strong feelings about men. Feel like he would be kind of androgynous in terms of how he dresses if he had the chance to, idk.

Also he likes books that teach on certain, very specific topics. Hes a weirdly cultured man. (He/him)

Heavy, I feel like would be demiromantic bicurious? like he's thought about it, he doesn't really get along with much people on a personal level, due to him always having to work, and always being feared. And he's had feelings for men, he just always sorta, denied it? in denial, even though the closet is made out of glass.

Heavy likes to woodcarve, and weirdly i think if he tried, hed be good at painting. (He/him)

Engineer is trans (real.) ftm, pansexual. He started transitioning when he was a bit older. His parents weren't supportive at first, but in the end, were proud of the man he became. He likes those wooden sets you buy where you construct your own object with wood! (Music boxes, animals, buildings, I did one of these, it was a music box, and I definitely know he'd like it as a stress reliever or gift. (Any pronouns)

Medic is not straight don't start w me. Androsexual, (if you don't know, androsexuality is being attracted to anything masculine no matter the gender. The opposite is gynosexual, attracted to anything feminine no matter the gender.) He's into masculinity, me thinks.

Likes bird watching and has a weird interest in the strange and unknown, like if YouTube existed he'd be the type to watch those long documentaries on the sea while he works or something. (Any pronouns, but mostly refers to himself as he.)

Sniper, panromantic demisexual. Don't know how to explain, so won't. Also likes to carve with wood, discusses it with Heavy a lot. Started when he was a kid, he'd get bored, go to the woods, and just carve a bunch of stuff. He also likes sweets. won't explain. (Any pronouns)

Spy is bisexual, genderqueer (omg same) does not gaf abt his gender bro, she'd look stunning in a dress. Has an interest in corny poetry, would never admit it, but it's true. (Any pronouns, but mostly He/She)

I'm genderfluid but I present in a more masculine way and I primarily use he/they as my pronouns but I don't mind others. I'm also pansexual, with a masc preference, and I'm demiromantic.

Right off the gate first things you're going to want to know about me is that I have ADHD and SPD (sensory processing disorder). And I'm a artist I love drawing both digitally and traditionally but I have a hard time actually sitting down and doing it when I'm not in a work space environment.

I love playing games specifically video games and my favorite genres are story driven, RPG, gatcha games and I'm obsessed with lore and characters backstories.

I can sometimes come off as pretty rude or cold but that's just because I use that as a front for past trauma, so when people actually get to know me I'm actually really lovable fun person. I get very physically affectionate with people that I feel close with. My love language is physical touch and quality time. I'm not used to receiving physical affection so I get very flustered when I do end up getting it.

As for a romantic partner, this sounds kind of sad, but I would like to have someone who won't abandon me since I've had past experiences like that. I really would love someone who could both match my energy or just someone who can understand my energy and not put me down for it. Having similar interests would be nice but having someone completely opposite of me isn't bad either.

I both been told I have apparently a "savoir" / "I could fix them" complex but I don't really see it.

the gloves that sniper handed down to brawler still have the scent of piss. he’s tried multiple times to wash it out but the smell still lingers. he just covers it up with their air freshener.

the reason why he hates pyro (the feelings not mutual) is because he, obviously, burnt his arms. of course, pyro didn’t know that because of his case of schizophrenia.

brawler likes talking to sniper the most, as he is his father figure to him. sometimes he even joins him up there during rounds so sniper can teach him how to snipe. if sniper is talking to someone else however, his next go-to person would be heavy or medic, or both if they’re in the room.

he also likes talking to sober demoman, spy and engineer. he still likes soldier cause he’s very playful and silly, but he doesn’t really trust him after the “expiration date” incident.

he attempts to stay away from scout because, girl or not, he tries to flirt with him. brawler doesn’t think he took into account what being trans meant, maybe he just thinks his pronouns are different, that’s all. but if he does, brawler would be convinced that he’s bisexual.

when spy found out about the brawler transitioning, he went out and bought a few things that boys like and gave them to him. he told him if he doesn’t like any of it, hand it to scout. brawler is still very grateful.

soldier doesn’t really know what being trans is. he doesn’t NOT support him, but from time to time he accidentally refers to the brawler with she/her pronouns. engie has to explain to him what being trans is over and over again, but soldier doesn’t really pay attention.

OH I GOT THIS

okay so there's been. a lot over the years. he's always seemed to take accountability and change for the better, but a lot of people don't really care about that. it's honestly up to you whether you think any of this makes him too bad to support. i'm also going to put this under a cut bc i don't know how long it's going to get!

firstly the transphobia. this is what gets brought up most afaik so i'm going to go through it first. he made a video ten years ago looking for the gender of the tf2 pyro, where he used a lot of typical gender stereotypes as evidence, as well as calling them both 'it' and a 'shemale'. there's honestly not a lot of defense for this but it was ten years ago and he has said that there's a lot of early game theory videos he's really ashamed by, though he didn't specifically mention which. it is entirely a guess of mine that this happens to be one of those.

he also made a form for people to fill out, and in said form for the gender section, i believe it was 'man' 'woman' and 'other' if i remember correctly, with the 'other' selection being one of those where you fill in your own answer. in the video talking about the responses, he read out a bunch of people's attack helicopter jokes, and then when he started getting pushback for it, he made a twitter thread saying, among other things, 'point your witch hunt somewhere else'.

this one is quite honestly the dumbest in my mind, because, as he points out in said twitter thread, he included that section in an attempt to be inclusive, and it was misused. when he read the attack helicopter jokes out, it also has a very sarcastic feel to me? like he legitimately says something along the lines of "i had absolutely no idea that we had such a diverse set of theorists here. that was sooo helpful.". as for the witch hunt part, i honestly feel that the prior things are enough to show that he wasn't being transphobic, so i definitely think it's fair for him to be a bit upset when everyone turns on him for it, though that's entirely just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

this isn't entirely related to the transphobia, but i'm grouping it here regardless. back when everything was going around with Scott Cawthon, people claim that Mat said (or basically said) that he understands everything the lgbt community goes through because he was a theater kid. this is a flat out lie. he says in the video that it's hard to be close minded and a bigot when you're in the theater space. he also specifically says that this doesn't mean he understands everything the lgbt community goes through.

one last thing i want to note on the subject of transphobia, is that he almost exclusively refers to one of his employees, Ash, with they/them pronouns. i don't know what their pronouns are, but the fact that he does it very consistently and has never made it seem like a big deal, does say something to me.

next there's fanart stealing, but he's addressed this multiple times, that in the old days of youtube artists used to message him a lot saying they were glad he liked their art enough to use, but that he recognizes that times change and does his best not to use fanart. he also says that he has a really big team, and he tries to make sure that none of them accidentally use fanart either, but it's difficult when there's so many images they have to use. one last thing on this note is that he gave fanartists a list of steps on how to protect your art to make sure it doesn't get used accidentally. a lot of people take those last two statements though as him just making excuses, once again it's your call.

admittedly it's been very hard to find much of the context surrounding this one, but there's a lot of controversy with him supporting autism speaks. i didn't think i was autistic when this initially happened, so i wasn't very informed on autistic issues, and don't remember a lot of the details, this is just going to be what i've been able to dig up. basically Mat was invited onto a charity stream to raise money for a group similar to autism speaks. it's worth noting that this one wasn't actually autism speaks, just a similar group that may have been collaberating with them, and that he was invited by someone with an autistic son, so he could have neglected his research on it because of that. not an excuse, just a guess based on something i could see myself doing. just an easy thing to overlook, imo.

i also heard that he made a small donation to autism speaks itself, but i haven't gotten a source on that.

finally, and what i think is the hardest to defend, stigmatization of mental illnesses. it started with the Mario is mental two parter from about nine or ten years ago, and has on and off been brought up whenever he covers mental illness. this one is going to be the shortest, because with me not being a professional i don't feel qualified to say anything substantial on it.

a lot of people don't like him diagnosing characters with mental illnesses, especially when those characters are villains or he theorizes that they're villains, citing the issues real disabled people have with being stigmatized. again, not my place to say much, and i don't believe that he's apologized or addressed most of the mental health stuff.

Reader need something from dragonspine, so he agreed with aether to go with him, but cyno got a bit jealous, so he goes with reader too :D

We all know cyno's outfit🥶, reader asks cyno about the cold, but cyno tells him it's ok(it's not), so reader hugs him, cyno gets so flustered ;)

All I can see is just really pouty Cyno as he trudges through the snow behind you basically attached to you while traveller is just tryna talk haha. I actually really liked the idea considering the change in scenery and overall just feel of Dragonspine compared to the desert and how he just wouldn't know how to act properly with not being accustomed to the mountain. I just noticed this would be my first fluffy story on this account and I actually quite like covering a different thing to usual! I don't write for male readers that much but I will try! If I make any mistakes with pronouns (story will be using He/him but will be first person) please inform me so I can adjust it. ❄️Snowflake❄️ ❄️Warnings: I don't think there are many warnings as it's overall just fluff with some jealousy. You knew that Aether knew Dragonspine best of the people you were friends with in Sumeru, taking the chance to request for him to go with you to look for something that had piqued your interest. Aether accepted happily, seeing it as a chance to both hangout with you and see Albedo again if he was working at the lab. The Adventure was sure to be long and hold it's struggles, but with Aether is felt a lot easier than you're usual adventures. Cyno had demanded to tag along with you both, thinking he just wanted to see the snow which never was found in Sumeru with the harsh temperatures on a regular basis. As you reached the frost covered ground, the cold quickly hit you, nipping at your exposed cheeks and nose. You listed your hands to your face as you continued the stroll, snow clinging to the material of your thick pants. The pre set camp came into view as you slowed a bit, drowsiness finally kicking in after the long hike. As Aether wandered ahead, informing of his plan to visit a friend your attention flicked over to Cyno who awkwardly shuffled in the dense snow. You only now noticed him still in his usual attire, chest fully exposed to the cool breeze. You had expected him to be wearing his cloak that he would always wear when venturing out of Sumeru, so you were somewhat surprised by the fact that he wasn't and that you somehow didn't notice earlier. "Cyno where's your cloak? It's cold up here you'll get sick." Worry was evident in your voice as you look towards him, his nose turning a shade of red from the low temperature. "I must of forgotten it before we left. I'll be fine it isn't that cold anyways." He gave a small shrug walking towards the camp once again. It was clear that the cold was getting to him despite his denial, walking close behind him to follow him towards the tent. He stopped in front of a small tent, looking towards the frost covered trees in slight wonder, not seeing snow in what felt like forever. You hurried towards him, wrapping your arms around him as you leaned into him. You tilted your head back, looking at his flustered face as he avoided eye contact with you. "what are you doing?" His voice came out in a hushed whisper, one hand raising to cover the lower half of his face while the other rested around your waist. "keeping you warm of course" "But i'm not cold" "just accept the hug then" He slowly melted into your touch, wrapping both his arms around you as he leant against your shoulder.  The both of you stayed in place for a few moments before you felt him shiver slightly, proving further his denial. You pulled back heading towards the campfire, taking out your catalyst and quickly lit the fire. Walking back towards Cyno, you began to tug on his arm to pull him towards the fire to sit on the log. You once again pulled him into an embrace, leaning against his chest allowing yourself to rest. Cyno's hand came to rest on your head, stroking your hair as he let you pull him closer. He felt something fall on his arm, looking up to see snowflakes falling gracefully. His free hand lifted up, catching a lone one in his palm watching the crystallised snow melt against the warmth of his skin. He looked down at you with a gentle smile, feeling your body slowly rise and fall. Your soft snores reached his ears as he pulled your cloak tighter around you, making sure to keep you warm as more snowflakes fell around you both. He leant against you , resting his head on your own as he let his eyes closed, keeping your body close to his. Aether walked back to the campsite with Paimon by his side, speaking to her hearts content as they scaled the steep slope on the mountain. The sound of fire crackling caught his ears as his eyes became level with the tents, seeing the both of you resting on the log by the still lit fire. He turned to Paimon, motioning her to keep her voice down as he pointed at you both who went unnoticed by Paimon at first. The two Sat on the opposite log, taking out a sunsettia each waiting for you one of you to wake up. Aether noticed Cyno shift as he tilted his head towards the pair, raising an eyebrow not realising when they had returned.  He noticed their looks towards you, a mix of confusion and slight worry visible to him. "He's sleeping, he was tired from the walk. You guys can look for what we came for tomorrow." Aether gave him a nod as he gave Paimon a look, standing and walking towards their tent giving Cyno a small goodnight before closing the door behind them. His attention returned to you as he placed a soft kiss on your forehead, staying in place to allow you to sleep further as he allowed his eyes to wander towards the unfamiliar scenery. "I love you y/n." ❄️❄️ I wasn't sure what to do for certain parts so I wrote what came to mind. ❄️This is one of three requests so far! Being a pyro vision user, Diluc is basically your personal heater.

If your cramps are really beating you up, he’ll put aside his Dark Knight duties

If they aren’t too bad, he’ll still put them aside because he loves you.

He still has to tend to the bar though sometimes, but he’ll make sure to tuck you in and have a nice hot cup of tea.

Eula

I feel like the Lawernce Clan, were just waited on just hand in foot in regards to their monthly

But also are trained to not show if they’re in any pain.

Eula is very good at not showing any pain

However, she had to learn from Amber on how to take care of herself in regards to her cramps.

She’ll make sure you have sweet treats and tea as she tucks you into bed and holds you close.

If you feel any discomfort, make sure to tell her.

If not then you will pay.

Jean

Jean, as busy as she is, still is able to pick up on your change in demonro.

Although she can’t directly help you, she’ll send in people like Lisa and Kaeya to help you with anything you need.

It’s a bit of a running gag that Zhongli has remedies that take forever to make

Thoma is on it

He knows exactly when your cycle is about to hit and has everything read the moment you wake up.

The sheets were changed the night before as well as a towel being sneakily placed under you sometime in the night

Childe

Childe is a mix of Thoma, Jean and Kaeya all in one.

Thoma because he tries his absolute best to make sure your 100% comfy

Jean because if his Harbinger duties take him away from you, he has to go,

But you better bet that he’ll finish that mission in half the time to get back to you.

And Kaeya because he is all over the entire duration.

This cycle has been a one of the more cramp-y ones. Love that for me! Also this kinda went from their reactions to your period cramps to just the period in general lol
