I've seen the last '"g-d made you perfect" that I can handle, and it's led me to a realization about how I think of g-d.
I don't think we were made perfect. We were made human. And, if I'm honest, the only perfection in my mind is g-d, and that sense of perfection is what differentiates humans from g-d. If humans were as perfectly-made as g-d, I for one wouldn't see the point in following, believing, trusting, caring for, or loving g-d.
I guess for me, I see the ways in which humans alter the Way We Were Created that I really don't think it's right to speculate as to if there's a limit to altering our abilities or bodies. For instance, as a trans person, I've definitely been inundated with this idea that because g-d made my body "perfect" that I shouldn't alter it ever, but isn't that a dangerous precedent? Is it really so, that our bodies are magically made perfect, as g-d that to even tamper with the idea of change would be the same as cursing g-d? I really don't think that's compelling.
I love thinking about just how much g-d is placed into people, but I don't think it warrants restricting the ability to learn, create, grow, or change. Thank g-d that He created the ability to change!

It's such a vibe that, in truth, Light canonically doesn't give a damn about L's 'loose screw' or whatever Kira-Light pretends to think about L's habits.
His response to L's morbidly fascinated, wide-eyed smirk is simply 😊i knew this would cheer you up <3.
The chemistry in this panel specifically is so wholesome. While the rest of the team still seems a little weirded out after months, Light is just there "Let my hunched friend spin on his chair..; Alright climb on the armrest of mine & put your arm around me bc I won't bat an eye if it's you - Look at this research I did for something I know would release you from your demotivated state. This intense look on your face tells me you're invested. Glad you're back on it *smiles softly*"

Surely someone must have written the Everlark Gilmore Girls AU right? Because like -
Fiercely independent single mother Katniss Everdeen raising her sweet, intelligent daughter Prim (who is so close in age they’re practically sisters), and friends with the bakery/café owner Peeta who keeps her fed in cheese buns and bread, and sees her everyday while quietly and patiently pining.
FT: Best friend Madge who Katniss later opens a business with. Grumpy town eccentric Haymitch. Flamboyant dance studio owner and gossip Effie. Prim's best friend Rue who Katniss also ends up mothering because that's who she is. Estranged mother Mrs Everdeen who Katniss felt abandoned by but adores Prim. Local fashion designer Cinna who took Katniss in when she first arrived.
And then Prim’s father and Katniss’s teenage sweetheart Gale comes back around periodically wanting another chance but doesn’t realise they’ve changed too much to ever be together.

I just think it’s so cute that Blake and Yang did the cute little shove as they had their little flirting moment. It reads so much as friends / ppl who are comfortable with each other WHO THEN transitioned into a romantic relationship. Like the friendship aspect of their relationship has not gone away once romance was added, it is the foundation and the first layer of them being a couple. And Blake being the one to get in Yang’s space and be silly and giggling like. She’s grown so much but also seems to be returning to who she once was before Adam and just. Getting to see actual Friends To Lovers while keeping the friend aspect intact is so important to me. Bc they are not shy characters so the shoving followed by not quite holding hands feels so perfect. Like oh we can have banter and tackle hugs bc they are more aggressive / kind of rough and tumble shows of affection. But holdings hands Just Because, not in the context of “I’ll protect you” or “We’re protecting each other” or a hug in an empty classroom bc you’re running on fumes and I’m worried about you? Holding hands just bc we both want to and there’s no immediate danger and I just want to hold your hand? Are we ready for that yet despite how much we’ve already been through? It sticks out to me. Bc you would think holding hands would be simple I mean Yang already caresses her face in V8 surely holding hands as they walk isn’t a big deal. But they aren’t there yet they haven’t met each other there yet and the Friends to Lovers “I know you like me but are we on the same page is this the right time to add explicit romance to the friendship” god it’s so good it’s So Good!!!!

theo thinking of winning his father's recognition even before he thinks about winning the position of crown prince and the power it conveys,,, wanting people's admiration,,, one of his motivations to become heir to the throne being sparing his brother's delicate health,,,
he's really just a kid that wants his dad's love and attention, that craves everyone's approval in the face of his father's neglect and who wants to take care of his older brother despite everything and everyone pitting them against each other
and he thinks he can gain all of that if he can just become crown prince.
is it any wonder he was so desperate to win the duel. or that he fell apart apart when the goal he'd worked for his entire life was snatched away from him no matter how much he told himself he was okay with the outcome??

rewatched arrival for the hundredth time. this movie never fails to gut punch me with its approach to determinism. louise embracing her future that she knows every moment of, despite the tremendous loss and pain it contains, with open arms. she doesn't hesitate, or ruminate on how she can try and change it. she accepts it all, the good and the bad, because what she gains is worth it, so many times over for her. she steels herself against a certain future and runs forward to meet it all, to love, learn, and lose, and trusts and leans on herself to live through it all. because that's what life is; it's the joy and the suffering. to try and isolate the joy alone is madness, futility in its purest definition.
comparing her line of thinking to a palindrome (how she named her daughter, hannah), the movie kept emphasizing, "it's the same backwards as it is forwards." it doesn't matter if you can see the end; life is the same whether you live it "forwards" (without knowledge of the future) or "backwards" (with foresight). it doesn't change the significance of your life experiences; to try and avoid certain future pain just because you have the knowledge of it is a zero sum game. you think you win because you avoided pain, but you also avoided the joy that preceded it. the metamorphosis. so you still lose if you try to win, and vice-versa.
all you can do is rush forward and take it all head-on. see this whole beautiful mess as your one most precious gift; this one life, this one chance, a laughably miniature blip on the colossus that is linear time, to experience all there is to feel before you return back to an eternity without perception. it's all worth it, because only in living a full-fledged life open to everything it has to offer does the experience of living turn out to be greater than the sum of its parts; it's in trying to beat the system (avoid pain) that we actually lose.
"if you could see your whole life from start to finish, would you change things?"
"maybe i'd say what i feel more often. i...i don't know."

Apparently there's been a lot of discourse about Nico and Percy on Twitter lately? Idk about here cause I haven't seen much personally, but here are a few facts I think people need to remember, coming from someone who is rereading the series right now:
Nico and Percy do NOT hate each other. They don't even dislike each other
Nico never hated Percy. Nico never really blamed Percy for Bianca's death (he was projecting. This was explained in tbotl).
Nico never wanted Percy dead or to get any revenge on Percy for Bianca's death
Percy never bullied Nico or was even outright mean to him, except for in the Last Olympian
Nico and Percy were on good terms by the end of the Battle of the Labyrinth. They were fine. There was literally no bad blood between them
NICO WAS WRONG TO TAKE PERCY TO HADES WITH NO WARNING. Nico thought Percy wouldn't get hurt because Hades told him he wouldn't hurt him (remember, Nico has no reason not to trust his dad), but Nico still could have at least explained the situation to Percy before taking him to Hades. There was no need to trick him. Percy might have even agreed to go talk to Hades to help Nico in exchange for Nico's help gaining the curse of Achilles, or explained his history with Hades and that Hades was most likely tricking him. Nico probably would have listened! There should have been communication from Nico to Percy
PERCY WAS WRONG FOR THE WAY HE TREATED NICO IN THE LAST OLYMPIAN. Yes, he was stressed. Yes, he was under a lot of pressure. That does not excuse his actions. Him being mad at Nico is 100% understandable. Him holding a sword to Nico's throat and purposely not moving it when he realized Nico was there to get him out is inexcusable, especially when he claimed Silena and Luke were heroes after they got multiple demigods killed and almost killed him/ got him killed multiple times (he called them heroes in the same book, when he was just as stressed, if not more so bc he was literally in the middle of fighting a war and people were dying around him). All three of them took actions to right their wrongs, but only Nico isn't considered a hero to Percy? Why, because he didn't die for him?
Regardless, Nico and Percy DO NOT HAVE BEEF after that. Nico convinced Hades to help and goes and helps in the battle of Manhattan, and Percy appreciates and acknowledges it. No more beef between them
I'm going to stop here because I haven't reread the Heroes of Olympus series yet, and I don't want to misremember anything, but the point is:
Nico and Percy have a complicated relationship. They both have hurt each other, but they've moved past it. They're friends. They're not super duper close, but they do care about each other, and no one can or should deny that.
The faster people accept that they both have done bad things to each other and have moved past those things and don't dislike each other, the faster we can put an end to this ridiculous discourse.
