Back in March, onions already cost 50x the usual price they go for in Gaza. A kilo of peppers cost almost £70 in August. Other food items are also exorbitantly expensive.

I have previously written about Ibrahim @aburakhiaibrahim's family of 28. Donations to their GFM are still very slow, and so far they have only raised $6,393 CAD of their $30,000 goal, with only 3 donations in the last 24 hours.

hi! idk if you've watched tcw (spoilers ahead), but there's the arc where Angry Teenage Boba takes jango's armor and ship and embarks on a quest to get revenge by killing mace windu, then after breaking out of prison becomes the head of a crime syndicate (at age 12), starts a gang war with cad bane, and proceeds to spend the next 20 years bounty hunting and basically trying to live up to what he sees as jango's legacy. and anyways i have so many Thoughts about Angry Teenage Grogu doing the *exact same thing* - taking his father's armor, a replica of his ship, abandoning almost everyone in his quest to kill gideon, and after breaking out of house arrest he's started bounty hunting because that's one of the major things grogu remembers about din - !!! and it reminded me of that scene where he didnt want to paint his armor because din never did, and how he's trying so hard to be what he thought din was like, strong and fearless and shiny because that's what he remembered as a baby, that he's started losing sight of what din wanted *for him* - a peaceful, non-main-characterish life surrounded by loved ones.

(okay this ask is getting very long and i hope it all shows up right lol)

poor boba's probably sitting in the palace (speaking of, boba's like 70 now right? since he's 10 yrs younger than anakin who i think is about the same age as grogu?) despairing about how grogu, this kid he's raised and rescued, is making Every Single Mistake he ever made, how he tried so hard to be who people remembered his father as, the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, the jedi-killer, et cetera, and in that he only became the person jango was at his lowest, most depressed point, having pushed away everyone who ever cared about him, and how he only dragged himself back out after falling in the Sarlacc and spending the next three(?) years half-dead ;-; and now he's watching grogu going down the same path for the same reasons and he really doesn't want the kid to get mostly-digested in order to reflect on his life!!

but also he's about as socially capable as his rancor and he doesn't know how to explain this all to grogu, and now he left and isn't answering comms, and boba can only hope grogu doesn't push vars away too, because one friend is better than what boba had at that age, at least. and grogu's despairing over the 'clan of two' stuff and boba despairing over how he doesn't know how to tell grogu that he was literally in the exact same position, that jango died and he was left alone. and he doesn't even have his father's actual helmet anymore because he destroyed it in the explosion trying to kill windu, and the metaphors are so obvious!!

anyways just. the parallels here are heartbreaking, and i really do hope grogu de-sithifies himself enough to have an actual Conversation before boba dies, because boba spent 24 years chasing the echoes of his father's ghost and grogu's just started ;-;

But what Grogu needs isn't actually understanding. Grogu needs to accept. He needs to put it down. He's carried the weight of his father's death, LITERALLY with the helmet on his back, ever since it happened. And it's been preventing him from moving forward and growing and living. He needs to put his grief down and to do that he needs to realise to putting it down won't make him lose it (just like how he tends to fret over leaving his father's helmet outta sight for fear of losing it Grogu cannot imagine a life and a world where he is not drowning in his sorrow). Because Grogu has grown up losing and losing over and over that it's become a part of him. Unintentionally he's cemented himself as that kid who lost his dad

But he could be more. He could be more if only he'd let people in. Dream-din once said to him after he ran away that he was upset Grogu did that and "abandoned the people who cared about him". Because god people do care about him. But Grogu is so enveloped in his grief that he doesn't even know who he would be without it. Every time he thinks about a life after avenging his father he comes up empty

And it's delicious that Boba knows exactly what that's like. He's likely the person who'd understand the most but BY VIRTUE of being able to understand he's also had to live it and damn if it doesnt still hurt to think about, decades and decades after. Damn if Boba wasn't also shaped by his grief. Aurgh these two are so everything to me im so happy you understandddd YOU UNDERSTAND!!!

I haven't been feeling very good lately. Mentally, not physically for once. I can't tell you which is worse.

Lately I've been feeling very invisible and very hopeless. I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to achieve things the way other people do. It's not always from lack of skill at the specific task, but rather it's like people just don't see me. That post I made about piracy basically doubled my follower count and yet I haven't seen an increase in notes or interactions. Maybe like 2 or 3 new followers actually seem interested in what I post.

I fight through my disabilities every day and try to share stuff people will enjoy, but somehow I always miss. I'll come inside from taking photos for a while and think "oh boy people are really gonna like some of these" and then they get 2 notes. One from Tobi liking it and one from him reblogging it. With art stuff people always say to just keep making and posting and eventually people will gather, but I haven't seen it. I've been doing photography since 2017 and I haven't had any substantial increase in interest. Friends sometimes enjoy what I post but beyond that there's no growth. I don't know what else to do.

As a result of that I have like no money to spend because any I do have is being responsibly saved for what I've been requesting it for in the first place: a new laptop. Every day I'm terrified the one I have will just not turn on anymore, and my ~art~ is my only pathway to income. I type this on a duct-taped piece of junk lemon of a laptop. There's so much more I could do with my photos if I had one that could actually run Lightroom and Photoshop without stroking out.

I'm not even going to sugarcoat this: I resent seeing people's checkmarks, crabs, and whatever other 'funny' stuff Tumblr staff dangles in front of everyone's faces. I see people with like 18 checkmarks and think of how much I wish I could've received that money instead. That's 9 payments of $7.99 USD. That's like $70. Almost $100 CAD. If someone gave me that much I would cry. Do people not realize things like that? That there are people out there so desperate for scraps that they'd get emotional over money you pissed away on a website you claim to hate?

The worst part of all this is that people won't read this post anyway, and making it won't change anything. Just another wasted effort.

Doing it immediately after could irritate her skin. My argument to that is that all skin types are different and some skin never gets as irritated from shaving as others (ask people who have to shave their faces, some grow beards because shaving is a literal pain, others have more irritation from the facial hair). Personal comfort has so much to do with it that I will add my experience: I have more discomfort if I don't shave down there.

Anon suggests that it will be more fun "in theory" but I can say that it is fun in fact. There is a particularly wonderful sensation akin to having shaved one's legs then getting into clean, cool sheets after a hot summer day. Very much like that, now that I have written it. Anon says "irl it won't be fun" but I want to point out that Daemon isn't always concerned for his partner's fun. Would he enjoy any stubble or even a day's worth of hair growth if they waited to have sex? Nope. He would definitely not want that, not for this "experiment."

Now for the fictional elements:

Even on 21st century Earth we have some great things to help with discomfort with waxing or shaving and the most basic and, often, most effective is hydrocortisone cream applied after shaving. So, one could invent something that maesters concoct for prostitutes to help with the irritation (because I know some of them probably do that from time to time). If this was something you, or any Daemon writer, really wanted to make happen he would have at least some knowledge of this, the cad.

Also, because fiction, if Daemon just wanted babey to be bare and not shave her himself, invent Westerosi waxing. (See point above for his "expertise" in the subject) But also because that is plausible in a setting like Westeros even if ladies and royals wanted to remove hair. Daemon would certainly enjoy embarrassing babey by having someone wax her while he watched.

Lastly and again, because fiction, babey could have such soft hair that the regrowth isn't as irritating. That is something that could be researched about 21st century human hair, of course, but could be almost entirely made up about silver Targaryen hair if the author chose to do so. (I'm so pleased with that gif being bracketed by the thought of him watching and now the thought of Targaryen pubic hair that I just had to point it out. Not sorry at all.)

You could ask 100 people and get about 70 different answers I bet. There will always be some readers (like anon) who have experienced it differently and might not believe any of it or might not be willing to suspend disbelief (not at all a criticism of your anon). And to the point of Daemon going down on her after... he better do it soon after because he won't want to in a couple of days or he might get a bit roughed up himself.
