In light of the ceasefire we are witnessing now, my family, which was forced to flee its area of residence due to difficult conditions, is suffering. We would like to return to northern Gaza after a period of displacement, but we are having difficulty securing the transportation costs we need to return.

in august 2023, ola (@olasfamily), mathematics grad student at al-azhar university in gaza, had also just gotten her first teaching job at a school where she was beloved by her students. but just a few months later, her neighborhood, school, and university were destroyed by israel, forcing her, her parents, and four younger siblings to leave their home and be displaced multiple times in northern gaza. they need funds for food, water, clothing, and other essential needs.

they have currently raised 88.25% of their goal.

While her family has raised some money towards this goal, they are still in need of more funds—liquidity takes out 30% of their funds when transferring money to Gaza, and GoFundMe takes another 21%. With the Rafah border crossing opening up, not only do the Al-Anqars need to raise money for the crossing fee, but for Iman’s foot brace so she can make the journey into Egypt.
