#im on ch97 #the relationships between the characters are quite good #jupiter... i love you jupiter #at first i really hated that it felt like the protag knew everything and we didnt get to find out until the author decided we were #allowed to know what he already did #but thats not really a problem anymore #it also nails the emotional beats pretty well theres a few scenes that had me feeling it #its a fun read

put him and karkat in a room with a pile of stuff and tell them they can't leave until they've jumped into it and talked about their feelings

#realtalk therapy doesnt work unless the person getting the therapy puts in the effort to make it work #eridan starts the comic in complete and utter denial that he's in need of help #so there's really nothing i nor any stranger could do about that #HOWEVER he does talk to karkat often about his feelings (and vice versa) and #the reason they didnt hang out during the game seems to be #1) they were on separate teams and didnt realize the teams were the same team until later on #2) by then it was too late and eridan had aggro'd all his angels #3) gamzee was deliberately keeping eridan away from karkat and vice versa (likely bc gamzee had a palecrush on kk)#4) karkat was too busy falling victim to his own insecurities abt being a leader to pay attention to his actual friendships #4a) eg. it shouldve been the time player doing the frog hunt with kanaya & not the blood player #like im not saying moirallegiance with karkat would have fixed all of eridans problems but i am saying #what eridan really needed was a friend who took his problems seriously and could see past his bullshitting #and karkat already WAS that friend - they just never hung out #so by the time the meteor rolls around eridan has spent WEEKS feeling abandoned anxious and alone on his death planet #and karkat has gotten used to not thinking about eridan too much #so karkat - who is basically eridans only actual friend at that point - isnt able to get through to him & eridan snaps #like the thing about sburb/homestuck is that it really stresses the importance of friendship and working together #letting each other help with each others' problems #thats why the smallest viable game is still two people by necessity #so when we see things like gamzee snapping or eridan snapping or vriska snapping #as much as these are the 'fault' of the person snapping they also need to be viewed as comprehensive team failures #the people who should have spent the game together didnt and the people who shouldnt have spent the game together did #vriska was allowed to bully tf outta tavros and nobody intervened #eridan was left all alone and nobody tried to help him #and everybody was mean to gamzee and nobody tried to connect with him #and you know whose job it is to make sure the right people are hanging out together? the blood player #and unfortunately our blood player was so insecure that he was doing jobs that werent his to do #im not saying pale erikar would fix homestuck but i am saying pale erikar is a symptom of things being fixed in homestuck

Saw this prompt for incorrect OC quotes and couldn't resist with a bunch of my Breach goobers. Some of them would absolutely say these things word for word in canon if I gave them half the chance to, though. XD

They're in order of when they showed up in person - Qīng, Ghost, Red, Marisol, Shio, Cam, Daruk, Tawoos, and Alondra - as well as some important honorable mentions who have only been mentioned or gotten dialogue - Star, Blake, and Creation.

Star's design is a slight spoiler, I suppose, but it doesn't reveal if they're human or impostor, so it's all good. Creation's "design" also isn't a spoiler at all, because They can look however They want, LOL. As for Shio...some of you who have seen the body horror I've done of them may be wondering why they look so normal here, but I promise there are Reasons. :3c

For some reason I had never listened to the high school ear biscuits episode and I am sobbing over this like they are just so truly in love with each other? Like platonically, romantically, whatEVER it is so obvious!!!! They chose each other so easily, almost subconsciously, over and over and being with each other forever was literally the default? #Alright I got tragically interrupted while watching it but I'm finally finished watching the episode!!#It's really really good both the animation and drawings are very detailed compared to the rest of the anime but...#The pace is so off :((( Like it's not the end of the world but ugh. It's unfortunate...#So many things just don't hit off as deeply because everything is moving so fast all the time and there's no time to process anything.#They won't allow you one second for the last line of a scene to sink in that the next scene's ost is already playing.#And like it's not even the worst crime an anime can commit I guess but still...#I wish they didn't. Like rather than make a 13 episodes season and squeeze the Sky Casino arc in merely two episodes it would have been–#a lot better to finish the season at the previous episode and make 12 episodes out of everything (so that everything could be better paced)#Like yeah maybe it's not the best season ending that there can be but... unpopular opinion but actually i love when heroes refuse to kill their enemies and no one is gonna make me not love it

#personal crap #i think it makes writers have to be more creative about how they solve problems #plus it allows you to play with the morality of killing and what ways to fight are ok #(doctor who and su do that a lot obviously and imho it slaps idc what anyone else says)#and have stone cold badass moments of like emotional superiority (vash from trigun does that a fair bit #and my favourite recent example is how in gotg 3 rocket refuses to kill the high evolutionary bc he knows he's already won #and doesn't want to do to him what he did to lylla teefs and floor)#when heroes do just kill their enemies in cold blood it feels kinda boneheaded to me by comparison #not to mention a lot of purity culture weirdos loooove when villains are just one-dimensional evil dicks who have to be destroyed #bc that plays really nicely into their morality #oh and i just thought of another one: in rotj luke refusing to kill palpatine to take his place is so cool #especially in contrast to how in tros rey just kills him like it's nothing even though they spent the whole trilogy #building up the idea her allegiance to the light side of the force isn't as strong as most jedi #only to go 'nah if you kill palpatine everything's good'

Worse he keeps trying to become Megumi’s New Dad and Megumi cannot emphasize enough how much he does not want him to do this. Why does Gojo keep asking him to throw a baseball with him. Why does he keep trying to ruffle his hair.

Megumi’s her boy. she’s #not betraying his already fragile trust by airing out his business to other people #it’s sort of painfully obvious the Zenin used to beat him but no one talks about it. Megumi would shut down if anyone tries #like his life was sort of terrible and he didn’t see it getting better but somehow it did and he just wants the past to die #he wants what happened to be dead and buried and over and he knows it’s far from it but he just. he doesn’t want anyone to know.
