BREAKING NEWS: canon character banned from own series for being "too problematic" (by the same community that also thinks visibly disabled characters(and likely people in general) need to be censored or otherwise hidden because "some people think that's gross" which is a mixed signal at best. Do we care about their feelings or not)
#basically the moral of the story is wcue players fucking hate disabled people but they won't admit it#and also eventually your “activism” wraps back around into being harm if you keep going long enough#eventually any depiction at all becomes “potentially offensive to someone out there”#i generally try not to “slippery slope” things but they are basically already there in this case so i feel like i'm allowed to this time#wcue#roblox#reports channel#good lord#i'm going to die young#dislike “-kitty” users btw. not as aggravating as “exp” line breaks in bio S/H people#but close#one time me and my friend were hanging around#and someone walked up to my friend unprovoked and suggested he change his bio from “tom” to “hekitty”#because his character had pink on him and they insisted that it “fit better”#anyway that's not related i'm just being reminded of it#no i couldn't tell you why their name is offcenter either#i do know it's on purpose though and i hate it#sorry i have a lot to say about this one lmfao#remember this game is officially endorsed by the warrior cats team. Take Yourself Apart For Me - Chapter 2
Whumpuary2024, Day 08 - Prompt: "Help Me"
Shin confronts her deepest fear: asking for help
I'll level with you: I cried a bit writing this one
AO3 Here
Shin spent the next two days in the Mandalorian's bed. Despite her escape attempt, they never attempted to put her back in the restraints - maybe they thought her injury would keep her captive. Or maybe they trusted her not to kill them in their sleep. Ahsoka Tano had given her back her lightsaber and from the weight of it Shin knew she hadn't removed the power pack, and she wondered what Baylan would have expected of her now. Tano was a war hero, he had told her, and she had no chance against her. She would sense her intentions even in the deepest of sleep and cut her down in seconds. But Sabine was weak: barely able to use the Force unless her life depended on it, unbalanced, and with aggression that rivalled Marrok. Shin had bested her in every contest they'd had, and she could kill her without breaking a sweat.
Her eyes shifted down to the drawings on the wall. Did she want to kill her?
Baylan had sent her to Lothal. Morgan Elsbeth sent her on Seatos. Thrawn sent her on Peridea. Not once had she decided for herself.
The door opened and Shin rolled onto her side to face the wall before Wren could see her face. Murley's portrait looked up at her, and Shin felt that its stare was a little accusatory.
"Brought you food," Sabine said, with cheer that didn't sound forced, no matter how much Shin wished otherwise. She lifted her hand and Sabine pressed the carton into her fingers without complaint. As always, she'd already put the straw in for her.
At Huyang's insistence, Shin was on a liquid diet of blended protein infusion until she was fully healed, and the thick, flavourless gruel she had to suck down through a straw sometimes made her wish Feldspar had actually killed her. She could hear Sabine beside her, unwrapping a protein bar for her own breakfast, and wished her presence didn't comfort her so much. She was sick of eating alone.
"Your armour," she said, after a long silence broken only by Sabine's chewing. "I heard the droid saying."
"It's wrecked," Sabine said, trying and failing to sound flippant.
Shin remembered Sabine kneeling under a barrage of blaster fire from the bandits that had once been her allies. "Why did you save me?" she asked abruptly.
She didn't need to look to know Sabine had shrugged before she answered. "Ahsoka saw something in you," she said. Neither of them spoke for a moment. "Why didn't you go back to Thrawn?" Sabine finally asked.
Shin closed her eyes. She wanted to reach out for her lightsaber, sitting on Sabine's desk on the other side of the room - not to attack, just to feel the weight of it in her hand for a while. Instead, she pictured it: the orange crystal sitting at the centre of the emitter matrix, the delicate twists and curls of the cables that ran along the core to the power cells, the thick insulation sheath and the metal hilt that sealed it away.
"I don't know," she lied.
"Right," Sabine said, scrunching up the wrapper of her protein bar and getting to her feet. "Good talk."
She sounded annoyed, and it reminded Shin uncomfortably of the way Baylan had spoken when she was younger, and failed one of his drills or didn't put her all into an exercise.
"Wait," Shin said, before she could stop herself. She rolled onto her back to check that Sabine hadn't left, and saw her standing with her head cocked slightly and her hand on her hips as she looked at her.
"Go on," Sabine prompted. Gently this time.
Shin swallowed hard, and then nodded. "Baylan left me," she said. The words caught in her throat, but she got them out. She had barely admitted it to herself before now. "I… couldn't leave him."
Sabine sat down again. "He's family."
Shin shook her head. "We're not related. But I've never known anyone else."
Sabine moved her hand, and for a frightening moment Shin thought she might touch her. Instead, she just laid her fingertips gently on the edge of the mattress, an inch away from Shin's arm. Her nails were painted deep red.
"I lost my family too," Sabine said quietly. "My planet. And Ezra, twice now."
Shin looked away from her eyes. "I never had any of that," she said to the ceiling.
Sabine tilted her head. "Well, not many people have an Ezra to lose."
Shin thought it might have been a joke, but she didn't feel like laughing. It would hurt too much anyway. Sabine sighed and Shin felt her weight shift like she was about to get up, and she opened her mouth just to stop her.
"I haven't felt anything since that day."
Shin couldn't tell which of them was more surprised by what she'd said, but it was true so she didn't try and take it back. She did try to stop the tears welling in her eyes and the tightness constricting her throat, but it didn't work. Slowly, Sabine leaned forwards.
"I've been there," she said softly. Shin felt a tear breach the corner of her eye and roll down the edge of her cheek into her hair.
"Then… can you help me?" she asked.
This time Sabine did reach out to her, and Shin tried not to flinch too obviously when her palm came to rest on her forearm. She could feel the warmth of her touch even through the sleeve of her shirt.
"What do you need?"
*
Sabine took her weight as she guided her across the common room to the cockpit access, one of Shin's arms over her shoulders. Her instinct was to loop her own arm around Shin's waist, but she had noticed how little she liked to be touched without warning and instead left it pressed awkwardly between their bodies as they walked. She kept an eye on the white surgical patch Huyang had pressed over Shin's wound once the skin had healed enough, looking for signs that she'd torn her stitches again, but they made it to the cockpit without incident. She lowered Shin carefully into the pilot's chair and then took her usual seat once she was settled.
Sabine flipped the intercom switch. Ahsoka had left early to scout the mountain path ahead, but Huyang had stayed aboard with them. "Huyang, I'm taking us for a ride," she said.
"For what purpose?" the droid asked.
"Uh… We've been hovering for a week now, I want to run the engines for a bit. Make sure they don't dry out," she said, shooting a glance over at Shin. She was too busy familiarising herself with the cockpit to return it.
"This is a T6 Jedi Transport," Huyang complained. "The engines do not 'dry out'."
"Ignore him," Sabine said. Shin was already ignoring both of them.
"Taking us out," she said, and tugged the yoke towards her. The ship rose gracefully into the sky and Shin accelerated a little as they climbed towards the clouds. Sabine watched her hands move over the controls with the ease of an experienced pilot and the care of someone who dearly loved to fly, and was reminded strangely of the way Hera flew the Ghost. She felt a pang of sadness then - Hera and Zeb and her old life were so far away now, and she would probably never see them again. Kanan was further away still.
"This suits you," Sabine told Shin, more to get out of her own head than anything else. It was true though: the other woman was sitting up straight with a look of calm concentration Sabine had never seen on her. When they fought, she looked feral - blistering focus and a vicious will to win - but now she looked in control.
"Baylan didn't like flying the ship," Shin said without taking her eyes off the wisps of cloud starting to break apart on the screen. "I taught myself."
She banked the ship a little faster than necessary and Sabine saw her relish the brief rush of G-force pressing them sideways into their seats. She didn't smile, exactly, but her wide unblinking eyes softened and the tension in her jaw eased for a moment. It returned quickly, though, and Sabine noticed her knuckles tense a little against the yoke.
"What is it?" she asked, and immediately regretted it. Shin hated her prying, but she couldn't help it.
Shin's lip twitched, but she answered the question. "The last time I flew, I was trying to kill you."
"That was you?"
"You didn't know?"
Sabine thought for a moment, remembering the one-man fighter craft diving and twisting out of her gunsights every time she thought she had them locked. "The gold one," she said, and Shin nodded. "No wonder I couldn't hit you."
The tiniest hint of a smile tugged at Shin's lips, and Sabine let herself grin openly at the victory of finally cheering her up as Shin took one hand off the yoke to adjust the thrust vector of one of the engines, and then instead of putting it back on the controls she laid her hand, almost casually, on the console between them.
Sabine stared, slackjawed and stunned, for several seconds. Then she looked up at Shin, who was looking very intently the other way. It was obvious, overt even, in a way she would never have expected from the woman who communicated in angry glares and five-word sentences. She almost didn't believe it, especially when Shin shied away from any attempt to touch her. Cautiously, Sabine moved her own hand - not close enough to touch Shin, but near enough that she would know she had noticed. She was reminded of facing off against her on Seatos, and the way she had read Sabine's guard and taken a counter-stance to match her. Sabine's heart was racing the same way, too. She looked over at Shin to see what she was going to do next. A barely perceptible blush rose on her cheeks under her gaze, and slowly, without taking her eyes off a point on the distant horizon, Shin moved her fingers out until they brushed against Sabine's own.
Sabine couldn't help the gasp that slipped her lips, and she worried for a second that the sound made scare Shin off. Instead, when she looked over, she saw Shin looking back. She hadn't turned her head much, just enough that Sabine could see both of her pale, blue-green eyes. Her usual wide-eyed stare had softened, and now there was a definite smile lifting the corners of her mouth.
"Thank you, for this," Shin said.
Sabine nodded slowly, and flicked out her tongue to moisten her lips. Cautiously, she lifted her little finger and let it drift gently across Shin's until she could curl it into the space between her third and fourth digit. Shin took her counter-stance: her little finger closed around Sabine's.
"So what happens now?" Sabine asked.
"I don't know." This time she was telling the truth.

Here's an idea: Transformer One Amphibia AU but its not the trio as Cybertronians. Just normal Amphibia except the events of TF ONE are transplanted into the continuity. Because of TF ONE's setting, we can further extend the timeline of them arriving in Amphibia to maybe at an even younger age through whatever means. We see childhood friends Marcy and Anne working as miners or maybe just advisors that scout around the different regions to do good, helping citizens out and what not.
Sasha, being their supervisor after the turn of events that made all of them land in Newtopia together, was deemed appropriate for the position given her tendency to be protective of them. And yes, Marcy and Anne are meant to parallel D-16 and Orion respectively, with Sasha acting as Elita One did in the film (except Sasha is way nicer and closer to them). They're also not so scrawny here, because they've essentially been raised as part-time child soldiers in this AU.
Of course, they don't know any better and look up to Andrias, especially Marcy. The old king has done so much for them, loved them like children, and never made them do anything unreasonable. He claims that he won't just help the trio get home once he finds all the Stones, but will usher in a new age of peace and prosperity for Amphibia once the Calamity Box is activated. Now, a lot less happens because of this very significant change. We never see them encounter the Plantars (yet) and the box is kept in Andrias' possession after the three unexpectedly arrive in Newtopia, and being younger of course they let him take it.
The beginning of the end of their peaceful life happens when they are sent by Andrias on a mission to Proteus, to 'convince' the Olms there that they need their iron. Problem being is that their city is built on the rich reserves, at least Anne seems to take note of once they get there. Its vast underground view doesn't last long in their eyes as Parisia strides up to them, asking what their business is here. They oblige her demand, stating that King Andrias sent them for some diplomacy as to move them away from his drill machine so that the iron deposits below may be harvested. That goes about as well as you'd except, and the trio are forced to fight for their lives for about an hour. Weaving in and out, landing hits on her, almost getting a bone or two broken just trying to dodge. A pillar gets brought down, almost collapsing on top of Marcy. Sasha took care of it by throwing herself at her long-time friend and safely getting her out of the way.
Mother Olm then abruptly shows up, demanding that they stop immediately. Anne is about to tell her what they have to do and why they're here but she is immediately silenced, mentioning something about an "unnatural thing that does not sleep and will not die". In her murmurs, she exclaims how Andrias has been plaguing them for months. How she happens to know a prophecy, but they must make haste. She leads them deeper into the city, showing off murals on the ceiling that the three stones must be recovered, and that Andrias plans to use them to conquer other worlds. At first, she is scoffed at by Sasha for daring to incriminate the King of Newtopia, but Sasha realizes she is out of her depth when she shows them The Core. Or at least, visions of it. A horrible hivemind whose hunger for conquest will never be quenched. The trio has to make a choice now.
An army of unblinking Frobots suddenly burst into the cave, accompanying the drill machine as it reaches its goal. The girls are long gone, and they will have time to escape to another region before Andrias realizes whats going on. The Olms are left to an unknown fate, yet they would never tell Andrias of what just transpired.
Somewhere a little more wooded, and darker, Anne stumbles down and sprains her leg. Not the worst but she'd rather walk properly than hunker down for the night. Marcy isn't faring much better, the sting of betrayal fresh on her mind, twisting her thoughts into violence. She wants Andrias dead now more than ever.
The three have been wandering for almost a day, arriving at Wartwood Swamp completely by accident. Despite their initial hesitation to step off and be acquainted with the local frogs, Anne nudges them in the right direction. Suggesting that they did need help and maybe the villagers would offer them some. Well, maybe.
How timely, the Toad Army is also here, possibly roughing up a few of the poor villagers who haven't paid their taxes. Or more likely, just roughing up whoever happened to look at them funny. Either way, Sasha strides up confidently to address Captain Grime on the matter of their progress, yet not mentioning what Mother Olm had told them hours before given how she doesn't want to risk them getting ratted out to Newtopia. The toad is quite adamant that he can handle his army on his own, but Sasha insists he hand command of them over to her for the timebeing. She has a plan brewing in her head, having gone over it with Marcy earlier. To overthrow Andrias with her own army.
The tension in the air is palpable. Anne tries to reason with Sasha and it works, she calms down before it gets any worse. Oh, but Marcy has had it. After everything that was just revealed to them, and now this other delay? She wants out, and she wants revenge. And she's going to take it out on this stupid toad, maybe taking his army as a bonus too. In a rare display of anger, she challenges Grime to a fight by headbutting him almost immediately. Of course, he doesn't take too kindly to the declaration, leaping forward and immediately throwing a punch. Its a good thing she's wearing armor, otherwise she would have been a goner. The fight goes like the D-16 vs Starscream fight, Marcy eventually coming out victorious after almost choking out Grime as he egged her on to kill him. She's still mad, and promptly pulls a sword on his neck, slicing a heap of flesh off before Anne screams for her to stop. It works, Marcy proclaiming that "This will be the last time I show mercy. You can continue to serve your incompetent captain, or you can follow me! We will march into Newtopia, and I will take down Andrias! ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!" (basically what D-16 said after he beat Starscream within inches of his life)
She takes command immediately, concerning Sasha and Anne but they don't say anything about it. Instead, opting to see where this goes despite being a little heartbroken at her sudden shift in behavior. That perhaps they should have been nicer to her before.
In the commotion, the Frobots catch up to them. Instantly, the village is swept into chaos. Frogs running for cover there, some of them even grabbing a few tools to swat back at the Frobots who are indiscriminately firing. The Toad Army taking down a few, some of them getting walloped to the ground. And here comes Marcy, flying in with a kick, denting a metal head in. She knows it won't be down for long, instantly bashing it in with a few blows of a wooden panel. Sasha following up by slicing its legs down. The fight will be hard, but if they just stick together they ca- Darkness.
...
Marcy comes to, blinking her eyes as she is kneeling before the throne. Oh, I've been kidnapped. She doesn't know how or when but she cannot do anything about it, King Andrias' booming voice coming in from behind. How disappointed he is in her and her friends, that he had hoped she could be a willing host for The Core. But it seems that now she would be disposed of instead, pointing out how weak-willed and indecisive she was throughout her time serving him. Still, it pained him to do this. He begins with a "I loved you girls like my own tadpoles." As if that would change anything about what they found out courtesy of the Olms.
Meanwhile back at Wartwood, not all hope is yet lost. Anne and Sasha have already composed themselves, having just dug out of the rubble and ashes of Wartwood. They will rebuild, but they needed to act now. Sasha sternly moved towards Captain Grime, who was surprisingly not captured, perhaps because of the fact he was not of interest to Andrias. They have to do something, especially since Marcy is kidnapped, no telling what the old king will do to her. They devise a plan, approaching Captain Grime to talk.
...
They storm Newtopia as it begins to rise from the ground, Andrias already fully aware of what they know, proclaiming he wished he didn't have to do this. The trio instantly engaging with him in combat, his more agile frame despite his size making it difficult for them to pin him down or even hit him. He was on the defense, lashing his tail if they got too close, swinging his sword to close gaps. And then, come the people. In an instant, spears come flying in from the Toad Army, striking him but not enough to injure his cyborg body. But its just enough time for the girls to tell them to "Aim for his legs!"
...
An hour barely passes before they take him down. He is defeated, and humiliated. Not even glancing up at them as his limbless form takes ragged breaths. What follows next is basically Marcy having the worst crashout known ever. She trusted Andrias, he was like a father to all of them. And now, their time, their very presence here was just a lie to mold them into ideal sacrifices? She will not stand for it. For the first time in her life, after being subtly ignored in moments around the other two, for all the times they wouldn't listen to her, and for all the vulnerability she dared confide to the tyrant? It breaks her. She looms over the defeated Andrias, anger dripping down her face, and no more mercy in her eyes like she promised. She reaches for the laser dagger, unfurling its thorny frame into its full size. The sight is enough to cause him to scramble backwards, the edge of the flying castle, and the power of the calamity stones long since drained. She stops near his head, still adorned with The Core's unblinking orange eye. Disgust is the only thing she can feel at this very moment. So she raises her arms, and swings.
...
"Marcy, don't!!!"
...
The squirt of blood is euphoric, he's finally dead. Now the rest of Amphibia is free from his reign, and The Core will be next. Except, the amount of blood is a bit... Oh no... She opens her eyes, only to be greeted by Anne, who is now half the girl she was, seconds away from tumbling down below. She reaches for her hand, but the weight of the sword pins her, guilt downed like the bitter afterthought it is. And she watches her body fall, a rift suddenly forming and swallowing the brunette up in seconds. She doesn't even register Sasha crying in pure agony. Anne is, Anne is gone.
...
That was just about the last straw. Her mind is made up now that she failed to save her. Marcy has had enough with her plans getting everything but fulfilled. She raises her arms again, dragging her limp across. Then activating the full, bright length of the weapon as she got closer to the downed newt, splotches of red still on it. She ignores the searing pain shooting through them, and brings it down again. This time, making Andrias lose his mind, or head rather.
...
She doesn't even have time to register before she starts laughing, it's pure bliss. Finally, their oppressor is dead, and she will carve out her own destiny. Then, the ground starts to shake, rumbling intensely as the walls start to come down. Anne arises from the rift in the ground, a trail of cyan light cascading outward as she stands tall. She's still the same Anne they knew, yet somehow stronger. Eyes now starry and wide, her hair aglow so white yet she's never looked any younger. Her eyes concealing a profound sadness only the other two recognize, her fists remaining steady.
Marcy is in disbelief, grief, and anger all in one sentence addressed to one of the halves of her heart. "And you come back stronger?" It was so hateful, so loaded with malice. She didn't know why. Anne only stared on at the scene.
Marcy didn't mean it but, it was too late to take it all back.
...
The heat of battle is profoundly tragic, she can't believe she enjoys this, trading blows with her friend. Like every second she spends here the more her heart breaks so beautifully. Every ounce of love now replaced with anger. Its a kiss with every fist thrown and weaved out of, sometimes wishing they'd all meet their mark so Anne would know how much she loves her. Like she told Sasha a week ago, admittedly rushed, but she figured she had better lay out her feelings then and there. And now, it seemed, her chance for Anne was gone. But whatever crawled back out of the earth isn't Anne anymore, that's not her. She can glimpse the three stones on her chest, partially infused into her skin, and what might be her heart beating. Its glassy like her eyes, yet unwavering in brightness as she charges forward.
Sasha is still recovering from her wounds, taking deep breaths as she tries to assess the damage. Anne is taking every hit, tears dripping from the sides of her eyes as she can't help but want Marcy to be right, that a violent takeover like Sasha almost tried was the key to saving their home. But she knew better.
...
The fight concluded once Anne decided a show of strength via cosmic powers was enough, the shockwave sending Marcy hurtling back, hitting her side against a wall as Anne looked solemnly down at her. "You betrayed Amphibia and its citizens, putting their lives at risk for the sake of a coup. You chose to destroy the peace, just like Andrias."
She gives pause, her otherworldly glow fading in an instant, back to the more familiar dark brown hue of her hair. "And you betrayed, me. Us. We were inseparable." Marcy feels this is unfair judgement, especially after Anne and Sasha's own faults towards her. But in a way she was right. Maybe this was too far.
Anne offers her a hand up, but for some reason, she refuses bitterly. She limps away, still clad in the armor of the oppressive force that had kept them in the dark for so long. Ironic, that she had snuffed out her own spark of hope in the name of what she thought was right. She calls to the Toad Army and whoever else may be listening, to follow her into exile. And so willingly, they join her. Away from the facade of Newtopia, away from the wreckage, and away from the lives they once knew.
...
It was strange really, that even if Anne had won, Sasha could sense her sorrow. Not even being stabbed through the guts hurt as much as this. They could take care of The Core later, for now, they had to rest. Captain Grime sat down, perhaps worn out and overwhelmed from the outcome. What were they to do now? And so, Anne flew them back to that wretched palace. Those familiar hallways she used to play with the other two when they could, those nights they spent by the steps simply talking to one another about what they wanted to be when they were old and gray. Those times would never come back. The splendorous decorations now a haunting reminder of what was hidden from them, and what they lost that day.

I find it kinda funny that the LU boys make comments alluding to Time being grouchy and unable to “lighten up” because while he definitely can be intense and strict…otherwise he’s sorta just an introvert lol
#like he usually seems to remain kinda quiet when the others are talking#and even sits a little apart#like in the comic where they find out about malon#but generally once they include him he’s willing to participate#and usually finds a way to either tease them or allow them to talk more about their adventures#he’s just one of the quieter and more reserved ones in the group#not as much as four maybe#but close#he also generally seems to not want to come off as intimidating#because every time he does (like like incident and twi’s injury not included)#he falls into a more easy going manner of speech#that’s almost similar to malon’s#to try and lighten up the situation#idk I’ve just been thinking about this the last few times I’ve reread lu#I find it interesting tbh#especially since I know firsthand how introverts can be viewers as stuck up or intimidating because we’re so quiet and reserved#*viewed*#although we’re usually just sitting over there feeling awkward or hanging out in our own little worlds XD#also can you tell I’m a little obsessed with him?
