a MCU/Percy Jackson crossover with Bucky Barnes as a demigod. Ik your already thinking, he's a soldier so Ares obviously but he's actually a child of Aphrodite. Reasoning: before the war and when he's healed he is dressed very well. He wasn't really into war. he's never really fighting for the fight, he's fighting for someone or because he has to. He was forced to be a soldier in both instances (drafted/brainwashed). Mcu Bucky doesn't give off Ares kid vibes. So Aphrodite kid.
#plus theirs this version of Aphrodite called Aphrodite Areia which is a war like Aphrodite and the idea of this Aphrodite kid#forcibly going from đ„°đđ to đčâïžđ. b#bucky barnes#marvel mcu#marvel cinimatic universe#now comic bucky is an ares kid he was rasied by the military LITTERLY that was kinda fed up but thats old comics for you#the winter soldier#i think he should be pissed about hydras logo not being a fukning hydra! thats an octopusđ#hydras have multiple HEADS that grow back when they get cus off đ#mcu headcanons#marvel#mcu bucky barnes#captain america#steve rogers#the avengers#captain america the winter soldier#percy jackson#percy jackon and the olympians#pjo#also any of the aus with the Avengers being a demigods are so funny like imagine going from the battle of Manhattan in like 09 then less#then five years later 2012 the battle of ny happens!#Demigod Avenger: YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHERE THE HELL IM FIGHTING THESE ALIENS!!!!!#Demigod: no idea#Demigod Avenger: BACK IN NEW FUCKING YORK!!!!! Idk if this is a huge request or not, but could you explain more about Bell? (The shitten in your au)
I would be thankful, take care.
Yeah, ive done like... 3 pieces of her max but she gets SO many asks lol. the story isn't really ready for her yet, and i'd like to finish what im working on before i do more with her, but i'll give the basic rundown.
she LITTERALY started as a joke baby post but she got so much interaction i said i'd expand on her design and now she seems to just have a following of simps (oops, like lamb like daughter)
most of the old ideas for ewen and nari with her are out of date now on the art, but heres a bunch of plot and some unposted sketches under cut
Nari and Ewen are married and leading the cult still. all the siblings have kids, grandkids and even great grandkids (excluding shamura). Its only after they decide having a child is someone for them to love and raise, not someone who they're forcing the cycle of trauma on that they have Bell. And they adore her. While growing up, one by one, the former bishops, all her aunts, uncles, and shamura decided it was time to peacefully end their long lives. So she sees death as a good thing, the satisfying end to a long life story. So when Ewen and Narinder are ready to die together, even though they say she doesn't have to, she takes on the crown and ends if for them with a last "i love you" between them. She runs the cult now which is more themed around their shared neck wound "rings" and their relationship than just the lamb. She's called "the black sheep" by her followers (or queen if they're kinky, princess when shes younger). she wields the crown as a pair of horns and a sythe, sine the cult of the black rings also referenced Ewen's large black horns and she keeps up the theme.
Baal and Aym are her "brothers" (more of her body guards and technically her cousins but she refuses to call them anything else) and her body guards, staying after their master's death. They've known her since she was a baby and still treat her as one sometimes. She's VERY protective over them, but also will bully them sometimes, like kicking their asses when training and saying they're just going easy on her like when she was a kid, knowing full well she's overpowered by the crown.
Because shes such an oddity, the mystic seller assigned one of their followers to keep an eye on her and, much like her "ba ba" she found the overpowered demigod shes now obsessed with. With some help from Ewen before they passed, they were able to translate their glyphs. Now that helper follows her around disguised as a poor imitation of a regular mortal to better understand her and the mortal realm. Or at least thats what she convinced them to do since she wants them around <3 probably not to their masters liking lol. I haven't decided on a name yet. Bell eventually give them the purple crown (they/it)
Before they left, Narinder was trying to reawaken the crowns, whether for the memory of his siblings, or that the cult was growing too large to be centered on the red crown. They're not very powerful right now and Bell is the leader of the others, more like a babysitter.
The blue crown is with Kalliope (kalli for short) (she/her), a distant relative of Kallamar's who had to fight, both physically and socially, with all her other of age relatives to get the chance, since Kallamar's polycule made a LOT of kids and grand kids. She's kind of bitchy about it and whines about everyone not respecting her or how hard she worked. shes a flamboyant cuttlefish and trans femme. also the crown is worn like an earring. Bell has little tolerance for her and they have a lot of bitchy girl fights.
The green crown is with isop (a kinda combo of isopod and aesop) (he/him) who is a rubber ducky isopod. he's Leshy's great great grandkid, and really only god the crown because no one else on the peaceful forest farm leshy put together in his later years really wanted it and figured it meant free babysitting. he's pretty young and small with a fascination for chaos and violence that only little kids without developed social perception can have, though he more watches at this point. The others tend to carry him or he rolls around in a little ball. The crown is worn like glasses.
The orange crown is with Mycelia (lia for short) (they/them plural) who is a homunculus mushroomo made through experimentation by Heket and Sozo before they died. they're the only one who is actually older than Bell. They're undying because they're a hive mind of all the mushroomo, who have been progressively growing. They can see everything the others see, can spout new bodies when needed and even feed on their own dead bodies. Bell sometimes just kills them when they're frustrated with them or other things. They'd be a threat but they're very monotone and emotionless about pretty much everything and don't care. They've worked with the red crown just because death is a natural boon to fungus and keeps them alive. The orange crown is worn as a necklace.
Heres some sketches since I haven't been able to get the designs to my liking but people keep asking so :T

Camp Seventeen: Chapter 1
Pairing - Afab!reader x ot13 (Reader x Seungcheol, Reader x Soonyoung for this Ch)
Word count - 13K
Genre - Greek Demigod AU! Weâve got crack, smut (tags for the chapter are under the cut), fluff , angst, hurt, comfort, all of it in this series, buckle up!
Chapter summary - It's been a week since you stepped foot in Camp Seventeen - as you navigated the days trying to wrap your head around the 13 boys, one's touch and another's voice start to become a bit too bothersome....
A/n - And the series has finally kickstarted! Please read the prologue before this! Big thanks to @okiedokrie and @c-oupsie for helping beta read this, y'all are the sweetest <3
I do have a taglist so comment on this post to be added! And if you enjoyed reading, please don't forget to leave feedback in the comments or tags - we've got lots of chapters to go and hearing thoughts really helps <3
Smut warnings - mutual masturbation, fingering, use of a very questionable dildo, is this considered cheating? Idk it's all blur here, jerking off, cum feeding, cum eating and I hope that's all?
âFucking hell.âÂ
You mumbled, waking up the same way you had been for the last one week - startled and nearly jumping off your bed.Â
While most people began their days to the ringing of alarm clocks (or roosters if they preferred the countryside), you regularly woke up to the sound of Seungcheolâs eagle screeching in your ear.Â
Turning your head, you glanced at Zephyr perched on the window before it gave you a short nod of acknowledgement and flew off into the darkness. Yes darkness, because unlike most people, your day also began at 4 fucking am in the morning.Â
Groaning and stretching, you sat up, holding back the large yawn that was threatening to pull you back to sleep. If Zephyr was here to wake you up, that meant you were late yet again and you hated that - you had done too many walks of shame to the training field and were in no mood to be conspicuously stared at by 13 boys as you stumbled over, carrying all your gear.Â
Knowing you didnât have enough time to drop by the washroom, you popped a mint and sprayed some deodorant before quickly grabbing your things and running out into the darkness.Â
The sun was just starting to peek from between the mountains as the House Of Zeus became smaller and smaller behind you. Although you had a long list of concerns living with Seungcheol, an unbeatable advantage was how close his residence was to the training grounds. Still, you could somehow never manage to be punctual. By the time you reached, you were 15 minutes late and Seokmin had already begun the morning drills.Â
âTwo laps around the field newbie.â He muttered as you walked past him, habituated to receiving the same punishment everyday.Â
While you begrudgingly jogged around the perimeter of the grounds, your mind wandered to everything and nothing that happened over the past few days.Â
Life at camp so far had beenâŠ. strange.Â
You would be lying if you said you were already accustomed to life here. You most certainly were not. And forget a week, not even a year could prepare you for what living in the wild was like.Â
To begin with, there was no electricity here. Thatâs right, no lights, no air conditioning, no Internet, nothing.Â
Memberâs began their days at sunrise and ended it as sunset - after all nothing much could be done in the dim illuminance of the fire torches scattered all around the base. So of course for you, who functioned best from 1 to 3am, this archaic way of life was highly inconvenient.Â
The only place that had even a trace of something technologically advanced was the Great Hall - some of the more brainy boys had managed to set up a small circuit for kitchen appliances, laundry machines, a small charging station and that was about it. Rumor was that Wonwoo's residence had its own circuit too, but no one could really confirm that intel - it was as though none of them had ever ventured into the House of Hades.Â
And as though the lack of scientific inventions was not enough, showersâŠ..were communal. Apparently it made more sense that water lines were directed to one common bath house rather than to each individual house. For them it was definitely more convenient to have the baths, jacuzzi and sauna all in one place, but for you that meant waiting everyday after training for the whole lot of them to be done washing up before you could do the same, with some privacy.Â
Oh and speaking of privacy, in the last week you spent here, you had come to realize that in this all-boys-greek-mythology world, it was privacy that was the real myth. Obviously after years of living together the boys were close but sometimes, they were perhaps a tad bit too close - like the time you had walked in on Mingyu and Seokmin boxing in just their underwear or when Soonyoung and Seungkwan sat right next to you, loudly comparing their dick sizes. You usually drew the line at phallic discussions.
The one place on camp that perhaps gave you some alone time and space away from the mess that the boys were, was the library. Considering you had shifted the last year of your University to an online study, you had a shit ton of assignments to complete and that was the only place you were able to get anything done at all. It was like the boys didnât even know the study building existed - no one cared enough to go there so yeah, maybe occasionally, you also allowed yourself to let down your hair, sing in your horribly off pitch voice and dance to beats from your walkman. Outside those four walls it was impossible for you to feel even a little peace and quiet.Â
Surprisingly, not even the temple, which one would think would be a place of sanctity, was spared from the deviant actions of the boys. The altar was less a place of worship and more a place for bargains and exchange deals - it was the only way to connect to the gods, aka, the parents in Olympus.Â
You had come to learn that just like the human world, not all God parents loved their kids the same - some members were regularly showered with gifts and goods, others would not receive so much as a response. You found yourself falling in the second half. Your father never cared for you in the human world and apparently, neither did your mother.Â
Brushing off the thoughts of the woman you had thought was dead for the last 25 years, you wrapped up your punishment and joined the boys for morning exercises, ready to start yet another tiring day.Â
âAll done!âÂ
Joshua gave you a sweet smile as he stepped out of the bath house, rubbing the towel into his wet hair. Thanking him softly, you walked into the showers, stripped out of your clothes and turned on the hot water. The mud that Minghao had you rolling in today as part of combat training washed off as the heat worked to soothe your aching muscles. Lathering shampoo onto your scalp, you finally felt yourself relaxing, letting your favorite citrus smell take over your senses. Outside the bath house, you could hear Seungcheol raising his voice, instructing all the members to head for breakfast, loud footsteps following his words.Â
Choi SeungcheolâŠ.. Living with him so far had been frustrating.Â
When you first stepped into his residence, you told him that youâve always lived alone so it might take you a while to adjust to living with someone and Seungcheol seemed to inwardly decide that giving you space was his life's purpose. After that, whenever you appeared before him, he politely greeted you and walked away. Whenever you stood as much as two feet near him he took a step back, like he didn't want to intrude on your personal space. Whenever you sat in his vicinity, he excused himself stating he'll give you some âme-timeâ.Â
You wish he knew how much you were in fact craving for the exact opposite - You wanted Choi Seungcheol. God you so badly wanted him.Â
It wasn't like you could just make a move on him becauseÂ
1.Hell no you didn't want him or anyone in this camp to realise just how (as Jihoon called it) thirsty you were andÂ
2. Seungcheol wasnât just anybody, he was the leader. Members bowed to him when he walked by, even the companions, specially Patricia who listened to no one, obeyed him - anything and everything on this camp premises held him at the highest regard. You couldn't just walk up to such a man and tell him, âhey, you're hella hot and I'm hella attracted to you, I wish you would ravage me.â????Â
All you could hope was that Seungcheol somehow approached you on his own but that seemed questionable given the clear line he had drawn between the two of you.Â
The one person you wished would actually draw a line was the first one to always cross it - Yoon Jeonghan. You knew he and Seungcheol were the same age and that they were close but you didn't understand just how close they had to be for Athena's son to barge into the leaders residence whenever he wanted? Even at times you were changing your clothes or lying casually on the bed in your night dresses that barely covered anything.Â
The most infuriating part was Jeonghan did not ever apologize - he'd just laugh and walk away and you wanted to do nothing more than throw a shoe at him. For some reason he enjoyed getting on your nerves, he enjoyed making you angry and it wasnât just you - in the last one week, it was evident that Jeonghan was a pain in everyone's ass but somehow they all adored him? You didn't get why they all seemed to love a man who always liked to pull their leg, never leaving any chance to fool them with his wit - you assumed they just preferred to be on his good side so all his harmless fun remained harmless.Â
Even Joshua, who was one of the sweetest people you knew, seemed to have a soft spot for Jeonghan.Â
When you asked him why he said before Jeonghan joined camp, Seungcheol was very uptight and ran the camp like a military barrack - it was the formerâs pranks and carefree attitude that allowed members to be at ease. Though he was talking about Jeonghan, you knew what Joshuaâs words truly reflected were his own good nature. He just seemed like the kind of guy who could do no wrong - like a pure, sweet soul. The days after you first arrived at camp it was Joshua who showed you around, guided you with everything and tried to make you feel at home. No one else really tried to get to know you as a person - they were all more interested about how and why you landed in their camp.Â
It also helped that Joshua was extremely pleasant on the eyes - at times when you didnât want to feel overburdened by thoughts, you loved to sit next to him and watch him work on his little craft for the day or write that new novel of his. Yes he was good looking and yes when he smiled, you felt dazzled, but it was his sweet disposition that made you choose his company over the other members.
On the days he would go off to the city for some work, the next best place you found yourself was on Junâs farm. Not that he was particularly nice to you or anything, Jun wasâŠ. quiet. He seemed to always do his thing, not bothering anyone, only speaking when required. When the evenings rolled around, you liked to take Natalie on a walk to visit the man she had a big fat crush on. Honestly though, who wouldnât have a crush on someone like Jun - though he was the one working in the fields, it was you who was sweating, just watching him.Â
Although you did want to talk to him, try to get to know him a little bit, you chose not to - as someone who enjoyed the peace and quiet, you decided to let at least some member offer you that because guys like Soonyoung sure as hell could not.Â
Soonyoung wasâŠâŠ.. A teenager stuck in a manâs body. Oh yeah he was hot as hell - just the nice build with muscles popping in all the right places. He knew how to dress better than most people on camp too - if you had seen him somewhere else, you would have thought he was one of those cool kids you always saw on campus.Â
But that image of him was destroyed the moment he sat on a Leopard and insisted it was a tiger. Over the last week, that was the predominant discussion between the two of you. That and his incessant flirting. Or rather, attempt to flirt. All he came across was cheesy, kinda humorous and loud. Extremely loud.Â
Wonwoo on the other hand was as silent as the night.Â
Most of the time you didnât even know if and when he was around, it was like he was non-existent. The members too didnât seem to bother much with what he did - you noticed he didnât wash up with the others, often hitting the showers after you were done. He never came for any meals on time, he always stayed back, even after all the members dispersed for the day - he just seemed to function however he liked and no one questioned him. He never questioned you either - Not once did Wonwoo ever attempt to make conversation with you or even meet your eye. It was like he couldnât care less and that wasn't very pleasant for you.Â
Someone who seemed to care a lot though, was Jihoon. Oh Jihoo was quiet too, but somehow he had his eyes on everything. Everything you did, everything you saw, even everything you felt seemed to find its way into Jihoonâs radar - he just knew. It terrified you that he was able to see right through you but the good thing about Jihoon was that he generally kept his mouth shut and wasnât too keen on discussing his observations. Regardless, his presence made you feel extremely conscious and a part of you often tried to not be alone with him, lest he could read your mind or something.Â
As the last of the soap rinsed off you, you turned off the water and grabbed your towel, patting yourself down. Your body was sore and aching all over - Minghao said that was because you were not used to such combat routines and in a few months time you would get used to it but you werenât really sure if you had it in you to tolerate all this for that long.Â
You also still had no idea what exactly these skills were needed for but from the conversations you overheard, it sounded like some sort of competition? That was both unlikely and terrifying cause who really competed with swords and spears anymore but if it was true, then what the actual hell??? Minghao said he didnât want to scare you with the details just yet and would explain everything when the time came. For now, you were to focus on building your core strength and basic self defense, in case the camp is ever attackedâŠ. Yes, cause that is less scary, way to make one feel better.Â
But that was the thing about Minghao - he did not have the habit of sugar coating things. He was honest with his feedback no matter how rude it sounded and though sometimes it did make you feel like shit, he also made sure to push you to do better. You knew if there was anyone you could approach for a real, unbiased opinion, it was him.Â
The same could not be said for Mingyu though - everything that came out of his mouth was saccharine sweet to the point it actually annoyed you. There was no doubt he was a nice guy - he was handsome, goofy, really good with his hands, really really good with his brain but the same didnât extend to his mouth. His style of getting your attention was to ceaselessly seek validation and unfortunately for him, you werenât really someone who was great with words of affirmation. When he was not trying so hard to please though, Mingyu was truly the biggest sweetheart with the fattest, most caring heart you had ever come across - the kind one wanted to wrap in bubble wrap and tuck away safely.Â
Seokmin too fell in the same category - the type who was so precious, it was hard to believe people like him even existed. The only reason you were able to survive these few weeks of training despite coming late was because Seokmin had your back every time Seungcheol wasnât watching - allowing you to take breathers, overlooking the fact that you were doing less sets than you were supposed to, things of that sort. He was always sweet and calm, giving you soft smiles and sweet eye crinkles.Â
With his members though, Seokmin was a whole different person - he was unnaturally loud, extremely energetic and all over the place. The problem was, you didnât know which of the two was the real him. You werenât really sure why but something told you Seokmin wasnât the man he seemed like and a strange curiosity coursed through you every time you interacted with him.Â
Seungkwan on the other hand was the exact opposite, he was exactly what he seemed like - always annoyed, unabashedly honest and unnecessarily snarky. In a way, you understood him - Seungkwan had the habit of taking on many things at once and keeping him unbelievably busy. In university, you too were like this - you took extra modules, signed up for multiple clubs, worked an internship alongside a couple of part time jobs and more. You liked to be occupied, to not allow yourself the room to think about what your life could have been otherwise. Maybe thatâs why you saw yourself in Mr. Busy Boo - always roaming around with that bluetooth in his ear, attending some meeting or the other, frequently heading to the city to get work done - ârestâ was just not a word in his dictionary.
But even amidst all this business and even though his automated response was to snap back at people, he still managed to bond really well with the members despite having joined the camp only a few months before you had. It was like they all needed him to be their constant reality check.Â
The one who you thought required his presence more than anyone was Hansol. A man like him whose entire personality was avoidant needed someone like Seungkwan who would drag him into everything forcibly. Hansol wasnât like Wonwoo, who was unbothered, couldnât care less and pretended like you didnât exist. Hansol was well aware of your presence and chose to actively avoid you every time - if you remembered right, there were even instances when he had practically run away from you. Something was just weird about that guy.Â
Perhaps the most normal of them all was Chan - actually he was just as loud and consistently blabbering much like some of the others but something about him made you feel very fond of him. Sure he was the same age as you but he felt like a child, always babied by his members, always grinning like a cheshire cat. And consequently, you too naturally babied him and Chan too enjoyed it - the two of you were perfectly content with your dynamic.Â
If only you got that same feeling with everyone elseâŠâŠ
As you grabbed your things and stepped out of the bath house fully dressed, Wonwoo was standing outside with a towel slung on his shoulder, scrolling through his phone. Without so much as looking at you, he walked past you, into the shower room, loudly shutting the door behind him.Â
âCan you ever be on time?â Jeonghan sighed, handing you a plate of pancakes as you looked around realizing everyone was nearly done with breakfast. âItâs not my job to wait your table every morning.âÂ
âUntil you lot arrange for me to have my own shower,â You grabbed an apple, taking a bite into it as you sat at the extra long dining table. âIâm afraid this is exactly how late I will be everyday.âÂ
âYou know what they say sweetie,â Soonyoung whisked the apple from your hand, taking a bite of his own. âIf you canât beat the crowd, join the crowd.â
You looked at him exasperatedly, knowing that he was just talking out of his ass. Maybe if it was someone else you'd be offended but seeing his childlike face and full cheeks, you were only mildly amused.Â
âI'm more of the âdon't join the crowd, let it follow youâ kinds.â
âOh I'd follow you anywhere Y/n.â He sighed dreamily as you laughed, taking a bite out of your pancakes that were still too hot.Â
âHow about you start following your own girlfriend instead Kwon?â Minghao walked around the kitchen island shooting Soonyoung an unimpressed look. âRumour is that she was seen outside the Dreamboys Disco and we all know exactly what one goes there for.â
âShe's not my girlfriend anymore.â Soonyoung muttered. âWe broke up.â
âWeren't you just planning an anniversary trip two days ago?â Seokmin looked at him quizzically.Â
âYeah then we argued over a location and she said it was better we broke up for a while.âÂ
âThis is what, your third breakup this month?â
âFifth.â He whispered sadly in a way that made you want to pat his back. âSixth actually, if you count the one that lasted for 3 hours.âÂ
âI'll never understand these on again off again kind of relationships.â Seungkwan clicked his tongue, hurriedly grabbing a banana, balancing all the files in his hand. âThe only thing it screams to me is disrespect.âÂ
âOkay Mr. Seung-I-am-the-son-of-Hera-and-marriage-is-the-way-of-life-Kwanâ Soonyoung rolled his eyes. âNot every traditional relationship is healthy, and not everything unconventional is toxic.â
âYes, except yours is both unconventional and toxic.â Seungkwan scoffed, raising his hand before Soonyoung retaliated. âI canât care enough right now, tiger boy, Iâm already late. We can reschedule your relationship counseling session sometime later.âÂ
âHow about never?â Soonyoung grumbled as Seungkwan rushed off, attending a call on his bluetooth. âWhoâs idea was it for him to join the camp again?âÂ
âMine.â Seungcheol slid onto the seat across you, raising an eyebrow. âIs there a problem?âÂ
âNope.â Soonyoung shook his head fast. âAbsolutely not.â
Smirking just a little, Seungcheol turned to you, sliding a couple pieces of chicken breast off his plate onto yours. âYou need to eat more Y/n, that little wonât last you through the day.âÂ
âSame goes for you..â Jeonghan mumbled, placing a bottle of protein shake near Seungcheol who gave him a grateful smile. From the corner of your eye, you saw Jun increase the portion of chicken to buy on the huge shopping list scribbled on the white board.
If there was anything you absolutely loved about this camp, it was the brotherhood. No matter what each member was like individually, as a team, they loved and cared about each other immensely. You werenât really sure if and when they could extend the same for you but having lived alone nearly all your life, a part of you craved to be one of them, to be cared for like that.Â
âI wonât be able to make it for the meeting tonight.â Wonwoo, as usual, strolled in much later than you and no one, as usual, had any complaints with that. In fact rather uncharacteristically nicely, Jeonghan handed him breakfast, shooting him a worried look.
âWhy, whatâs wrong?âÂ
âI need to drop by the headquarters today.â He sighed, sitting a couple of seats away from you. âThereâs an important official coming and apparently my presence is needed.âÂ
âWill you be back by nightfall?â Seungcheol asked, looking concerned. You knew why he was worried - if Wonwoo wasnât there on camp grounds at night that meant all the members had to take their places on the perimeter to guard overnight. Sleep was not an option that night.Â
âYeah,â Wonwoo replied, not looking up. âI will just have to miss out on the meeting for the lawsuit.âÂ
Right that meeting. The one you, Jeonghan and Wonwoo, had been trying to have for days now to sort out the biggest mess of your life.Â
âShouldnât be a problem, Nonu.â Mingyu patted his shoulder, shooting you a wink. âY/n has other plans with me today anyways.âÂ
You frowned confused as Mingyu clarified. âYou were going to finalise your house plan so I could start construction, remember?âÂ
Oh yeah, you had that too.Â
âAwesome, then I can go to the city today.â Jeonghan clapped cheerily, taking his apron off.Â
âYou donât work today thoughâŠ..â Jun muttered, looking at the shortage in the lunch boxes he had packed.Â
âDonât worry about food, I got some friends to meet over lunch.â The older man shot him a two-fingered salute before jogging out of the dining hall, earning Seungcheolâs tired sigh.Â
âI can never keep up with him-âÂ
âCab leaves in five!â Chan shouted, poking his head through the window.Â
The members around immediately stuffed the last of their breakfast, grabbing their things hurriedly, rushing out to get the front seat in Chanâs car. Afterall, the ones behind had to squeeze to fit themselves in and the one hour bumpy ride to the city was not fun. From their collective groans though you could tell Jeonghan had called shotgun - the asshole was lucky as usual.Â
Seungcheol downed the last of his breakfast with a fond laugh before turning to you.Â
âHave a nice day Y/n, Iâll see you later.âÂ
You tried not to smile back at him too widely as your eyes followed him leaving the premises. When you turned back to your meal, you could feel a set of eyes keenly looking at you. Looking up, you saw Jihoon staring at you with a small smirk, his expression all knowing. Gulping, you excused yourself from there.Â
You stared at the blueprint before you, humming skeptically.Â
âAre you still not happy with the design?â Mingyu sighed, crossing his arms.Â
âI donât know.â You drawled. âSomething about it feelsâŠ.off.âÂ
âSomething about your own design that you made for your own house feels off?âÂ
âGyu.â Joshua chastised, standing up from the couch and walking over to you. âArtists second guess their work all the time, have some patience.âÂ
âI am patient.â The bigger man pointed. âBut sheâs unbelievably indecisive.âÂ
âI know, Iâm sorry.â You looked up at Mingyu guiltily. âItâs just, Iâm wondering if having a bathroom in my residence is a good idea or if I should just have another small one built by the bath house? I mean think about it - my residence is so far from the training grounds and the dining hall, if I had to walk all this distance everyday, Iâm only going to be more late-âÂ
âI get it.â Mingyu patted your back. âI get your concerns but the sooner we finalize this, the sooner I can get to building it and the sooner you can get out of Seungcheolâs house and into your own space.âÂ
Ahhh.Â
Right.Â
A part of you was thankful that Jihoon wasnât a part of this discussion otherwise he wouldâve seen right through your subtle attempts to delay this process. You didnât want to be an inconvenience on purpose butâŠ.. You were just a girl and you wanted to get to know Cheol a little better. It didnât help that he was barely ever at home, leaving at the crack of dawn for training and only returning very late at night, after he finished attending night school doing that stupid astronomy degree of his. The only time you ever got with him was on Sunday because members did not train on Sundays - everyone was free to do whatever they wanted. And you wanted to do Cheol.Â
So far you only had the chance to spend one weekend alone with him and maybe just maybe if you pushed your house construction a little youâd have the chance for another weekend or two. Then perhaps, youâd be able to take this unresolved, unnecessary tension with him somewhere.Â
âHow about you take a few days and work on your plan again Y/n?â Joshua rolled up the large paper carefully, handing it to you. âWhenever youâre ready let me and Mingyu know - weâll try and figure out the materials, budget, feasibility and all that.âÂ
âItâs times like this I miss Jeonghanâs brain.â Mingyu clicked his tongue, disappointed. âWhere did he say he was off to again?âÂ
âWhen does he ever tell us?â Joshua mumbled. âHe should be back by nightfall though. Jun said he needed help with the fertilizer composition and Han told him he would help.âÂ
âWow, heâs capable of being useful.â You rolled your eyes, stashing the blueprint into your bag. Mingyu and Joshua laughed, amused.
âJeonghan is always useful..âÂ
âWe still havenât managed to figure out a thing about my lawsuit and my hearing is in a few weeks-âÂ
âHan and Wonwoo will sort it out Y/n, donât worry.â Joshua rubbed your arm comfortingly. âTheyâre the best one can ask for.âÂ
âYeah except I canât seem to ask Jeonghan for anything cause heâs a little bitch or ask Wonwoo anything because for that he would need to realise that I exist and I donât think he does.âÂ
âWonwoo hyung isâŠ.â Mingyu trailed off. âHeâs a little hard to understand. Just give him some time. Once you figure him out, youâll know why heâs like this.â
Exasperated, you shook your head and walked away. Time was the one thing you never seemed to have.Â
Like always, as the sun began setting you glanced out of the window of the library catching sight of the varied hues in the sky. On the camp ground you could see Mingyu riding his big mechanical bull, lighting up the fire torches around for the night. Pulling out the lighter from your bag, you stared at the candles stacked in the middle of the table.Â
Sighing you cast the lighter aside and snapped your fingers, watching the flames come to life in your hand, dancing across your palm. Stretching your fingers, and moving your hand around, you watched the orange yellow light just glide across your skin like it was a pretty accessory and not literal fire that should have obliterated your hand by now.Â
Fire never did burn you - how could it when a mere thought could make it come alive in your hands. You first discovered this when you were 16 and accidentally dunking your hand in a pot full of boiling water did not leave so much as a scar. Even though you were unscathed you roamed around for a few days with a fully bandaged hand - the world would have thought you were some sort of freak otherwise. Over the years you tried to play with fire in many ways, just to test your limits, just to see how far you could go and each time, much to your own dismay, the limit didnât exist. Each time proved just how much you didnât fit in the world, just how much you deserved to be alone because you really were a freak.Â
But that was until a few weeks ago.Â
Until you discovered it wasnât the inability to burn that was the true madness - it was your ability to create fire itself.Â
From there things spiraled. You learnt you werenât the anomaly but a part of a rather large group of such circus acts - a world completely hidden from your own. In a cascade of events you were thrown into camp seventeen out of no will of your own and now, this was your life, this was your world.Â
Holding your flaming hand over your redrawn sketches you glanced at them. Thanks to the two boys yet again canceling the meeting with you, you found yourself working in the library earlier than usual, exhausted by the time the sun set. As you debated between working a little more or heading back, the door opening with a slow creak made the decision for you - if it was windy outside, it was most likely going to rain and you didnât want to stay long enough to get drenched. Quickly dousing the flame and blowing out the candles, you grabbed all your things and saw your way out.Â
In the darkness, the camp was quiet as usual. You figured most of the members mustâve retired to their residences for the night and when you reached the House of Zeus, surprisingly, so had Seungcheol.Â
âY-youâre home.â You stuttered, watching the shirtless man, doing sit ups in the middle of the living room in the dim golden light of the paraffin lamps.Â
Evidently Seungcheol hadnât expected your presence so soon either because at the sound of your voice, he got up with a jerk, pulling a muscle in his abdomen.Â
âCheol oh my god-âÂ
âYouâre early.â He got up wincing, holding the side of his trunk. âIâm sorry I should have been doing this in my room-âÂ
âI mean, the whole house is yours-âÂ
âThereâs a heavy rain forecast today, not really much astronomy I can do-âÂ
âYeah I came back because of the rain too-âÂ
âYeah me tooâŠ.â Seungcheol trailed off realising how silly he sounded.Â
Grabbing his shirt from the floor, he attempted to put it on, groaning miserably at the pain shooting up his abdomen. Watching him struggle, you quickly dropped your things and tried to reach for him to help out, but just as your finger barely grazed over his skin, he stumbled back like he was electrocuted, pushing your hand away.Â
âDonât touch me.âÂ
âCheolâŠ. â You frowned, confused. âI was just trying to help-âÂ
âSeungcheol.â He corrected. âAnd I donât need your help Y/n. Please justâŠ. stay away from me.âÂ
You blinked at a complete loss of words at his unwarranted behaviour. Unsure about how you felt, you grabbed your bag from the floor, turned on your heel and walked out silently, the same way you came in.Â
As usual, bad luck had followed you on your way out.Â
Not only was your life miserable, the weather too decided to be a pain in your ass and it started drizzling the moment you stepped out of Seungcheolâs house.Â
Even though the water was cold and you were shivering, you took off in the rain. You needed to get as far away from here as you could.Â
You were such a fool. You should have known that Seungcheol wasnât being nice or giving you your space, on the contrary he was keeping his distance, putting you at an armâs length. It was evident today - not only was he uninterested, but somehow it seemed like your very presence was disturbing him in some way.Â
And there was you who was always desperately wishing for the smallest interaction with him.. What an idiot.Â
Hugging yourself, you walked further down the cobbled path. Tomorrow you were going to finalise your house plan with Mingyu and get out of Cheolâs house as soon as possible. But as much as you wanted to avoid him and pull yourself away, a part of you was still aching at the loss of something that you believed had a lot of potential. Why did it have to be him of all people? Why couldnât it have been someone like Mingyu - he was hot as hell and unlike his leader, he actively showed interest in you all the time.Â
As you raised your head, Mingyuâs house loomed before you and your feet, as if they had a brain of their own, took you towards his mini mansion of a residence. That was until you saw Jihoon stepping out of the same place and instinctively took a swift u-turn.Â
The last person who could see you right now was Jihoon - that man would read you like an open book and know exactly how fucking embarrased you were. Hoping to god he didnât spot you, you quickly ran, entering the nearest gate for temporary refuge, till you got out of his sight.Â
But in hindsight, perhaps falling in Jihoonâs line of vision was better than the situation you had landed yourself inâŠ.. You werenât really sure whoâs house you had trespassed until the low growling expressed just how much his companion disliked it.Â
Horang.Â
Realising you had quite literally thrown yourself into the den of a wild cat, you froze, praying that it didnât notice you and you could slip out as easily as you slipped in. But before you could do anything, a hand grabbed you quickly, leading you into the neighbouring cottage, shutting the door behind you.Â
âAre you insane?â Soonyoung looked at you confused, shaking the water off his hair. âWhy would you enter Horangâs enclosure unless you wanted to be ripped apart.âÂ
âI didnât knowâŠ.â You rubbed your arms, generating heat. âI was justâŠ.trying to escape the rain.âÂ
âYou should have knocked on my door then..â He muttered, disappearing for a split second, returning with a towel in his hand. âHorang isnât used to you yet so please donât venture near my tiger in my absence - he only listens to me.âÂ
You tried not to hyperfixate on the inappropriate labeling of Horang in the off chance that an annoyed Soonyoung threw you back out. Instead, you accepted his towel, patting yourself dry, still shivering a little. With his hands on your shoulder, Soonyoung led you to the fireplace, guiding you to sit on the couch across. As you did, you glanced around his residence.
This was the first time you were in Soonyoungâs place and in all honesty, it looked much like that designated room in college dorms where all the parties happened - he had party lights everywhere, streamers hanging from the ceiling and techno music softly playing over the speakers.Â
When you turned back to him, Soonyoung held out a christmas mug, with a grin. âMulled wine.â
âI canât.â You shook your head although in the headspace you were in, you could really use some alcohol. âI wonât be able to wake up on time tomorrow.âÂ
âItâs not like youâll be on time even if you were sober.â He chuckled, immediately regretting his words as you narrowed your eyes at him. âYouâre in the House of Dionysus. This is literally the only hot drink I have to offer.âÂ
Sighing you took it from him, desperate to have something warm coursing through your body after all that coldness you experienced earlier.Â
âSo, why are you out and about in the rain?â Soonyoung sank into the couch beside you, sipping a drink of his own.Â
âIâŠ.just needed to be away from that house for a while.â You mumbled, taking a sip.Â
âWhy? Has Seungcheol gotten overbearing already?âÂ
âItâs not himâŠ.âÂ
âItâs always him.â Soonyoung sighed. âBut itâs not his fault. He just has a lot of pressure on him to be perfect as a leader, you know? That sort of thing gets to you.âÂ
âI know. Itâs justâŠ.. â You sighed, not knowing how to explain things to him. âForget it, I donât want to talk about it.âÂ
âNo, tell me.â He whined making you turn to him, finally noticing he was fully dressed from head to toe like he was about to march right into a party.Â
âAre you going somewhere?âÂ
âWork?â Soonyoung stated like it was obvious. âDonât tell me you forgot what I do.âÂ
You looked at him sheepishly. âIâve been here for just a week Kwon and thereâs thirteen of you so Iâm sorry if itâs taking me some time.âÂ
âForgiven.â He nodded amused. âI own the Midnight club in the city centre.âÂ
âRight, that big Demigod rave place.âÂ
âNo, the Midnight club is for humans. Thereâs another club hidden behind it, After Hours - Thatâs for Demigods exclusively.âÂ
You let out an oh of realization as Soonyoung continued.Â
âBusiness usually runs fine on its own but I try to drop by from time to time to just remind everyone who the boss is.âÂ
âI heard thereâs a life size portrait of you behind the DJ booth to do the same.âÂ
âObituaries are portraits too.â He rolled his eyes. âI need to let them know I am alive, kicking and always in charge.âÂ
You shook your head laughing. âWell then arenât you getting late? You should probably leave by now-âÂ
âI donât think Iâm going.â He mumbled, downing his drink in one shot, red slowly creeping on his face. âNot in the mood.âÂ
Glancing at him silently, you just blinked at him. You knew guys like Soonyoung could not keep a thing in them - he would share whatever was bothering him without you even asking in three, two, on-
âThe intel is that my ex is going to be there tonight.âÂ
âAhh.â You crossed your feet on his couch, settling in. âAnd you donât want to see her?âÂ
âI donât want to see her with other men.â He gripped his mug tight. âWith the news out that sheâs single, guys will be falling all over her and I know sheâs going to play along just to make me jealous.âÂ
âWell two can play that game right? You can do the same?âÂ
âWhat makes you think there are girls fawning all over me?âÂ
âDo you just want to hear me say youâre hot and that you could pull if you wanted to?â You cocked your head at him. âCause I can. I have a little wine in me so I can use it as an excuse.âÂ
Soonyoung laughed, throwing his head back. âNo I know Iâm hot, but do you know who she is?âÂ
You shook your head, drinking up more.Â
âAphroditeâs daughter, the femme fatales of the demigod world - boys want her and girls donât want to mess with her. No one is going to so much as look at her ex, forget trying to hit on me.âÂ
âHuh.â You pondered, the cogwheels in your brain turning. âWell technically, no one in the human world knows her so Iâm sure one of them will-âÂ
âThereâs no point of that. She knows I wonât go for a human.âÂ
âWhy is that?âÂ
Soonyoung stared back at you a little hard before a small smirk formed on his face. âY/n, are you a virgin?âÂ
You blinked, breaking out into a laugh. âI sure am drunk cause I seem to have missed why this intrusive question is relevant now?âÂ
Taking your empty mug from you, Soonyoung filled it up again from the pot. âWhat I mean is, demigods donât sleep with humans sweetie.âÂ
âWhy not?âÂ
âBecause weâre half gods, do you think humans can really satisfy us?â Soonyoung raised his eyebrows. âMortals canât keep up with our sex drive.âÂ
As you looked confused, the smirk returned back to Soonyoungâ face. âWhich is why I asked. If you havenât realised that a mortal man canât pleasure you, then either youâve never had sexâŠâŠ. or youâve never had an orgasm.âÂ
âI donât have to answer that.âÂ
âCome on, humor me.âÂ
âMaybe Iâm starting to get why your girlfriend dumped your annoying ass.âÂ
Soonyoung pouted, feigning hurt as you rolled your eyes.Â
âSo now if you want to get her back, you wonât be hit on by another demigod and you canât be hit on by a human which means your only chance of making her jealous is withâŠâŠâ You looked at him intently. âKwon Soonyoung, why are your eyes glimmering with mischief?âÂ
âYou.â He took the cup from your hands and set it on the table, much to your dismay. âYouâre the only one who she doesnât know about and the only one who doesnât know herâŠ..âÂ
âSo?âÂ
âOh youâd be the perfect bait.â Soonyoung clapped his hands. âOne look at you next to me and sheâs going to be quaking in her boots.âÂ
âIf you think Iâm about to stroll into a nightclub and pretend to hit on you to make your ex girlfriend jealous youâre sorely mistaken.âÂ
âWhy?â He whined. âWhy canât you do me a small favour. I saved you from Horong-âÂ
âNumber one. If you didnât pull me into your house, I would have ran out of the gate and been safe anyways-âÂ
âSure.âÂ
âNumber two, I donât know what the hell is in this wine. Normally it takes a whole bottle to knock me down but two glasses in and Iâm already buzzed-âÂ
âItâs a special blend.âÂ
âAnd number three, unfortunately for you, women are really observative creatures. One look at me next to you and sheâs going to know thereâs absolutely nothing going on between us.âÂ
Soonyoung opened and closed his mouth like he was thinking about what to say. âIt wonât work out Kwon.âÂ
âThis always happens.â He sighed. âShe breaks it off with me for any small thing, goes on to have her fun, pushes me till I have to beg for her forgiveness and then she accepts it whenever she feels like. Everything is always whenever she feels like it. We havenât even had sex in like two years-âÂ
âOkay.â You cut him off before he went into details you didnât need to know. âIf youâre so aware of what sheâs doing, why do you always give in to her? Do you really like her or⊠is she just a habit?âÂ
âI donât know.â Soonyoung stared at the floor, lost in thought. âI just know that weâve been together since we were 18. And I canât throw that away.âÂ
âI never knew you were such a romantic Kwon.âÂ
He laughed, sinking further into the couch.Â
âYou really want her back huh?âÂ
âI do.âÂ
âAnd this time do you want her to make the effort?âÂ
âA man can hope.âÂ
âWell then.â You turned to him. âPoint number three was relevant only if she saw meâŠdo you have your phone?âÂ
Soonyoung nodded, patting his many pockets and finally finding it, holding it out.Â
âYou're going to call and tell her you're hitting on me?â
âNoâŠ. If you give her a missed call will she call back?â
âNot immediately.â He sighed. âShe'll take her time to pretend like she didn't see and then get back to me-âÂ
âDo it.â He continued to look at you confused. âCall her and cut the call.âÂ
He followed through but the frown didn't leave him the whole time. âY/n what exactly are you doing?âÂ
âThis may be a bit diabolical but it should do the trick.â You took a deep breath glancing at Soonyoung. âWhen she calls you back, she's going to hear us having sex.â
âW-what?âÂ
âBefore you get any ideas, I'm not going to have sex with you Soonyoung, we're just going to make her think that we are.â
âHow exactly will we do that?â
âWe'll fake it.â You shrugged. âMake a couple of wet skin smacking sounds-âÂ
âand you could moan my name, say how good I'm making you feel.âÂ
âDidnât you get onboard this real fast.â You narrowed your eyes at him. âI'm going to make it really clear once again that this is for her not-âÂ
Ring!Â
At the sound of the ringtone both of you glanced at his phone and in a split second, Soonyoung picked up the call, holding it against his ear. Thankful that you got the opportunity to execute your idea so soon and determined to put up the show you promised, you immediately got to it, clearing your throat.
âFuck yes Soonyoung, that feels so good-âÂ
With widened eyes and a swift movement, Soonyoung shut your mouth with his hand, shaking his head.Â
âYeah, yeah I rememberâŠ..Oh no that was justâŠ. our cow?âŠ..Yes Daisy, she's just having a rough nightâŠ.. Anyways thanks for the reminder Hyungwon.â
You stared at him mortified, all the wine threatening to exit your system.Â
âYeah sure, see you tomorrow bro.â
Soonyoung brought down both the phone and his hand at the same time.Â
âOh god Iâm so sorry, I thought it was-âÂ
âThatâs your idea of having sex??â He looked at you shocked. âThank god it wasnât Mina because there was no way in hell she would have believed that?âÂ
âHey, I had no preparation time, you try faking it off the bat.â You mumbled. âBesides, it wasnât so bad.âÂ
âWasnât so bad?â Soonyoung looked scandalised. âDo you even know what you sounded like? Fuck yes Soonyoung, that feels good-âÂ
You leaned back inching away from him.Â
âWhat theâŠ..what was that?âÂ
âThat's what you said.âÂ
âI know butâ You frowned unsure if you heard right or if you were starting to get too drunk. âYou sounded exactly like me. Like your voice, itâŠ.it was mine.âÂ
âOh.â Soonyoung scratched the back of his head. âYeah well um being the son of the God of Theater comes with its own skill set. Imitation helps confuse opponents during war - it has actually saved us in quests many times.â
âYou can imitate anyone?â
Soonyoung nodded.
âAny sound they make?â
He nodded again as you let out a low whistle.Â
âWell that's brilliant, then you don't even need me. You can make your girlfriend jealous by simply impersonating me.âÂ
âThe keyword is imitate. I can only repeat sounds I hear, I can't just make them up.â He shifted in his seat. âSo if I should impersonate you, I need to hear what you actually sound like during sex.âÂ
You rolled your eyes. âDon't push your luck Kwon.â
âI'm kidding.â He laughed leaning back into the couch, his eyes fluttering shut. âBut you really have to work on the faking.âÂ
âYeah I've been told.â You muttered as Soonyoung sat up again.
âAha, so you have never had an orgasm!âÂ
âBecause of a man, no I've not.â You confessed. âBut bold of you to assume that I'm not perfectly capable of my own.â
Soonyoung looked confused.Â
âEver heard of masturbation, genius?âÂ
Soonyoung's mouth formed an O of realisation. âWell I've been in a relationship for almost 10 years so I've never had to take care of myself.â
âDon't rub it on my face Kwon.â You scoffed but regretted immediately knowing some dirty joke was going to come out of the man. So shutting his mouth with your hand, you held a finger to your lips. âNot a word. You're going to shut up till your girlfriend calls back.â
âThat could be a very very long time.â He mumbled against your hand making you press it harder against his mouth with a shush.Â
5 minutes later you were on your fourth mug of wine and Mina still hadn't called.Â
10 minutes later, you were nearly falling asleep and Soonyoung was already snoring away beside you.Â
15 minutes later the sound of the rain began to get softer outside.Â
And 20 minutes later was when you finally lost your patience, shaking Soonyoung awake.Â
âItâs getting late, I should goâŠ.âÂ
Soonyoung looked up at you sleepily as you got off the couch, standing up.Â
âYou should.âŠ.. Iâm sorry, I shouldn't have roped you into thisâ He glanced at the blank screen on his phone. âClearly Mina is either too busy having fun on her own or she doesnât care.âÂ
You smiled at him sadly, as he pulled his feet up, snuggling into the couch.Â
âI'm so sorry.â You whispered. âGoodnight Kwon.âÂ
âGoodnight sweetie.â
Setting the mug down, you grabbed your bag and opened his front door, relieved that the rain seemed to have stopped. But something was also stopping you from stepping out.Â
Giving it a thought and sighing, you turned around, looking at the half asleep man again.Â
âYou said you could imitate me right?âÂ
Soonyoung's eyes slowly fluttered open. Â
âSo if you listen to how I actually sound, if and when she calls back, you can execute the plan on your own right?â
Soonyoung looked at you in a mix of confusion, drunkenness and sleepiness.
âAre you saying thatâŠâ
âNo, I'm not going to sleep with you Kwon Soonyoung.â
âBut you're horrible at faking.âÂ
âYet again I'm going to remind you about masturbation.âÂ
You sighed, looking at his eternally lost expression. Grabbing his hand, you pulled him off the couch, leading him to his room.Â
Soonyoung's room was just how you expected it to be - a mess. There were things scattered everywhere, all kinds of band posters up on the wall, snack wrappers all over the floor.Â
He quickly kicked the trash under his bed and looked at you pleadingly. âYou cannot tell Mingyu how messy my room is. And you most definitely cannot tell Seungcheol I'm snacking - he does not understand post break up slump.â
You gritted your teeth annoyed to be reminded of him again. Of course he didn't understand anything remotely related to feelings.
âDon't worry, no one's gonna know anything because you too are going to keep your mouth shut about whatever happens tonight.âÂ
âI still don't know what's happening tonight.â He mumbled as you walked around his room, glancing at everything.Â
âI'm going to get myself off and you're going to listen and take notes.â Soonyoung's eyes finally widened in realisation.âDo you have a towel?âÂ
He nodded, quickly going through the stack of clothes piled on the chair across his bed and pulled out a long white one. Taking it from him you laid it down on his bed, the two of you staring at it mindlessly.Â
âCould you also close the curtains?â You fidgeted with your fingers, putting your bag down at the foot of his bed as Soonyoung nodded. âAlso dim the lights please.â
Following through your requests he tried not to look at you as you stripped out of your jacket and threw it on the bed. But when you unclasped your bra and pulled it out from under your shirt, Soonyoung was quite literally gawking.Â
âIâm hot.â You mumbled as he walked back, standing much closer to you than he was before.Â
âYeah you areâŠ. I mean,â He cleared his throat when you raised an eyebrow at him. âYeah it's a little hot in here.âÂ
Both of you tried to ignore the sound of cold raining softly falling against the window.Â
âOn second thoughts,â You took a step back. âI donât know if I can do this.âÂ
âW-why not?âÂ
âIf you havenât noticed I am buzzed as hell and Iâm not sure I can doâŠ. a great job on myself right now.âÂ
Lips slowly curling into a smile, Soonyoung cocked his head. âI can help.âÂ
âYes and I can finally use all that combat training and kick your ass. Soonyoung I am not sleeping with-âÂ
âWhat? No, no I meanâŠ.. just wait here.âÂ
Your eyes followed him as he jogged out of his room, leaving you alone with your thoughts. You must be crazy to suggest this. Sure there was alcohol in your system and sure you were trying to get your mind off Seungcheol, avoiding going back to his house but thisâŠ..
âHere you go.âÂ
Soonyoung strolled back in with what you could only describe as a wooden looking, very phallic instrument.Â
âThatâsâŠâÂ
He nodded. âA dildo.âÂ
âI have so many questions.âÂ
âLet me clarify. Yes I have used a dildo before-âÂ
âOh god.âÂ
â- Although my girlfriend isnât the biggest fan of it-âÂ
âThis wasnât my question.âÂ
â-I do occasionally enjoy it myself.âÂ
âI donât think I should be a part of this conversation.âÂ
âBut this dildo in particular, has never been used by either of us before.âÂ
âThat!â You pointed out. âThatâs all I needed to know.âÂ
Soonyoung held it out to you, looking at you expectantly. You gulped.Â
âYou know, I donât think I can do this. Iâm actually more of a vibrator girl myself.âÂ
âNow whoâs indulging in the TMI?âÂ
You rolled your eyes. âMy point is, I donât need this, I can just do it myself-âÂ
âI havenât even gotten to the story behind this.â He giggled. âThis is my fatherâs.âÂ
âAaaand Iâm done here.âÂ
âNo what I mean is-â He shuffled closer to you like he was revealing a big secret. âMy father may be the god of wine and ecstasy and madness and theatre and so many things but he is alsoâŠ. the creator of the dildo.â You stared at him vacantly. What?? âI donât think you wanna know the story behind it, itâs disturbing as fuck-âÂ
âMore disturbing than everything so far?âÂ
â-but basically, a few years back, my father was temporarily exiled from Olympus and while he was in the human world, he had, what he calls, a magnificent business ideaâŠ.sex toys. Dildoâs in particular. Thatâs when he made this.â He held it up and you wished he did it a little less proudly. âThis isnât an ordinary dildo Y/n, no. This baby can take on the shape, size, dimensions and every single tiny detailâ He gave a dramatic pause. âOf the person you are imagining while going at it.â
âW-what?â You blinked at him stumped. âYou mean to say itâŠ. morphs into a replica of someoneâs actual dick?âÂ
Soonyoung nodded fast. âThis piece is a prototype that Dionysus made but when he brought the idea to Zeus it was shut down immediately because Gods arenât supposed to interfere with human business and all that hoo ha, so he left it with me before he returned home.â With a small smile dancing on his lips, he held it out to you. âSo if you want, it's all yours.âÂ
You stared at it.Â
A magic dildo that could take the shape of any dick you wanted?Â
You would have to be insane to say no to that.Â
Pretending to hesitate just so you didnât come across completely deranged, you slowly took the toy off Soonyoungâs hand, feeling the weight of it in your own. As you tried to picture how exactly this night might go, Soonyoung took a few steps back, grabbed a fistful of the material behind his neck and pulled his shirt over his head.Â
âWhat?â He smirked as your eyes ran down his chiseled body, mouth moving but no words leaving it. âDidnât you say it was hot?âÂ
As Soonyoung moved all the clothes stacked on the chair to the floor and sat down, you watched as the minor oversights in your plan came into play. If he had to take notes, Â then Kwon Soonyoung was going to watch you.Â
Tongue in the cheek, you glanced around the room, thanking all the gods in Olympus when you spotted a lacy blindfold hanging on the headboard. Without questioning its existence in his room, you quickly grabbed it and threw it at him.
âThe deal was for audio Kwon, no visuals.âÂ
In complete contrast to his hot as fuck appearance he pouted like a child as you shook your head and looked at the blindfold pointedly. Sighing, he reached for it and put it over his eyes, tying it behind his hand. Not trusting him entirely, you walked up to him, slotting yourself between his legs and pulled the knot. Soonyoungâs hands gripped your thighs in both surprise and pain.Â
âSorry.â He mumbled, fingers softly grazing your legs as he pulled his hands away. âI promise, I canât see a thing.âÂ
You nodded, then realised he said he couldnât see and cleared your throat. âYeah, okay.âÂ
âOkay.â He breathed, leaning back, waiting expectantly.Â
Taking a few seconds, you let out a deep determined breath, preparing yourself for what was coming. As you unbuttoned your jeans, shimmying both your shorts and underwear down your legs, your eyes finally took a good look at the man of the hour, Kwon Soonyoung. Yeah he was one of the members who often trained shirtless which meant you had seen this display many times before but this was perhaps the first time you were actually paying attention to it. Before this, you hadnât quite realised just how beautifully tanned and toned he was or how much that undercut suited him or how hot he looked biting his lower lip.Â
Kicking your garments away, you pried your eyes, reminding yourself that this man was taken. Or at least would be taken again pretty soon. You shouldnât do this. You shouldnât be looking at him, you shouldnât be thinking about him and he sure as fuck cannot be the inspiration for your new magic sex toy.Â
That unfortunately meant that there was only one other person in your mind who could be the muse - Choi Seungcheol. Despite his dismissal earlier and despite being someone who held herself as a very high level of self respect, it was evident that your body shamelessly still craved him - he was the only one running in your mind. Trying to block him out, you arranged the pillows on Soonyoungâs bed against the headboard, adjusted the towel and slowly climbed on. In all the time that you took leaning against it, spreading your legs and settling in, Soonyoung remained incredibly quiet. Patient.Â
Although he couldnât see you, watching him felt weird, given the man and the dick on your mind were not him. Sighing, you glanced at the object you were gripping - it had already taken shape of what you desired and the sight of it made you gulp.Â
Lord was Choi Seungcheol thick.
Given his beefy exterior and broad build you had always assumed he was packed between his legs but this was nowhere near what you were imagining, not even close. Earlier, you were worried how you would get yourself off when you werenât even wet enough but now you were practically dripping with the thought of that inside you. Still, you didnât think it could fit, not without any prep.Â
Slipping two fingers in your mouth you wet them messily before guiding them to your folds, smearing the spit with your very evident arousal. When you let out a soft sigh, Soonyoung shifted in his seat like he was alert and when your fingers teased your hole, slowly slipping in, an unintentional moan left you too, making him practically grip the armrests of his couch tight.Â
âI'm going to need more than that Y/n.â He whispered. âWhat are you doing right now?âÂ
âIâm prepping myself, itâsâŠâ You gulped. âItâs too big.âÂ
âDo you need lube?â He frowned. âAlthough I donât know where it isâŠ.or if I even have any-âÂ
âThatâs okay.â You shook your head. âI think Iâm wet enough. Almost.âÂ
âDo you need any help?âÂ
You glanced at his tense body. âHow can you help?âÂ
âAre you the kind that listens to instructions?â
âOccasionally.âÂ
âThen push your fingers further.â He exhaled. âCurl them up.âÂ
Although that was what was on your mind anyways, you obeyed. As your fingers brushed that spot, a soft fuck escaped your lips.Â
âFeel good?âÂ
âYeah.â You nodded. âYeah thatâs good.â
âThen move.â He cocked his head. âSlowly at first, then pick up speed.âÂ
Even before he finished his sentence you had followed through, fingers pumping faster, head falling back as the grip around the dildo in your hand tightened.Â
âAdd another finger.âÂ
âThis feels good enough.âÂ
âThis will feel better.â He urged. âStretch yourself a little and add another finger.âÂ
Scissoring yourself open, you held back the moan that was threatening to tumble out, terrified Soonyoung would hear you. Belatedly you realised - Soonyoung was supposed to hear you.Â
âFuck that does feel better.âÂ
âYeah?âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
âAre you ready for more?âÂ
â.......I think so.âÂ
âThen wet the dildo.â He shifted. âPut it in your mouth.âÂ
Hesitating just a bit you brought it up to your eye level, still taken aback by its sheer girth. In the dim light of the lamp on the nightstand you can see a stark vein running along his length, the sight of it nearly making your mouth water. Oh you wanted him to fill your mouth, you wanted him to fill you just about anywhere so bad but it was clear from earlier that Seungcheol didnât want the same. So you were just going to take this chance and fuck him out of your brain. After tonight you were not going to think of Choi Seungcheol anymore.Â
Determined, you wrapped your mouth around the tip, humming against the weight on your tongue before pulling it out with a wet pop. As Soonyoungâs breath hitched, you sunk your mouth down on it again, taking it further in, not far enough to let it hit the back of your throat, but enough to just slightly choke around it, drool running down the corner of your mouth.Â
âY/n,â Soonyoungâs voice sounded almost choked too. âPleaseâŠ.âÂ
Youâve never had a man beg for you like this before and it wasnât enough to touch him but to touch yourself? Something in you swelled in pride, but something was also terrified about what things would be like once this was over - could you and Soonyoung really be the same again? And if things were going to change, how would they be?Â
âSweetie, you have to do somethingâŠ.âÂ
Knowing you needed something in you more than he did, you drove the thoughts away before aligning the tip at your dripping hole and slowly pushing Seungcheolâs girth in.Â
âHoly shit..â You sighed as you thrusted his length further, the stretch serving a sting that slowly ebbed from pain to pleasure.Â
âIs it all the way in?â Soonyoung groaned as you shook your head gulping.
âItâs notâŠâ You panted, glancing down to see barely any length disappearing in you yet you were so full. âI canât.â
âYou can.â He licked his drying lips. âYou can Y/n, come on - fuck yourself like you want to be fucked.âÂ
Yes you knew Soonyoung had a horrible habit of pointless flirting but you did not think his mouth was capable of spewing such filth too.Â
âTell me how you like it.âÂ
âDeep.â You whimpered, answering him as you shoved it in more, feeling it hit all the right places. âI like it deep.âÂ
âAnd fast?âÂ
âAnd fast.âÂ
âThen move.âÂ
And you did, pulling it out, pistoning it into you, sharp intakes of breath and curse words leaving you as you did. You felt your eyes roll back, threatening to shut but when they landed on Soonyoung they widened - he had slid down his chair, manspread now a lot wider and stark against his pants was the imprint of his uncomfortably trapped boner.
âSoonyoungâŠ.â You accidentally moaned, simply trying to get his attention. âAre you⊠hard?âÂ
âUnbearably.â He confessed immediately. âIâm s-sorry, itâs been a while-âÂ
âDo you want to touch yourself?â
You donât know why exactly you asked him that but you wanted him to feel good too. Just as good as faux Seungcheol was making you feel.Â
âI think I can cum without that.â He half laughed, half groaned. âBut god yes I want to.â
âDo it.â You directed him, halting your own movements, watching him. âTouch yourself.âÂ
Without wasting a second, Soonyoung instantly unbuttoned his pants and stuck his hand down, wrapping it around his erection. As he shifted uncomfortably, you could tell he wouldâve felt a lot better if he could completely free himself.
âCareful. Otherwise Iâll see youâŠI mean itâŠâÂ
âDo you mind?â He raised his eyebrows at you. âWould it bother you if IâŠ.âÂ
If you were being honest, since the moment you laid eyes on the outline of his dick you were curiousâŠ
âNo.â You shook your head. âI donât.âÂ
âThen I donât give a flying fuck.âÂ
He raised his hips a little, just enough to pull down his pants as his erection sprung free, resting against his abs, pink and flushed.Â
Oh he was long.Â
Seungcheol might be thick but Soonyoung was long, like he could reach places no one else could. As he spat in his hand and smeared the pre cum along his length pumping it in his fist, you gulped, forgetting that you too were in the middle of doing the same thing, just staring.Â
âY/n,â He moaned your name, throwing his head back, setting off a strange fire in your groin. âMatch my pace.âÂ
You nodded, thankful to not have to put your own brain to this which was threatening to shut off any moment now. Watching him half lidded, you let him set the pace for your movements, matching him almost perfectly.Â
âFuck this feels so good.â Soonyoung whimpered.Â
âIt does.â You agreed, with struggling breaths. âSoonyoung pleaseâŠ. Faster.âÂ
âFaster?â He smirked, but listened. âYou really are one of us huh.âÂ
âI need more.â You whined, feeling yourself at an edge you were just not able to cross. âSoonyoungâŠ.âÂ
âI wish I could help, baby.â He sighed, âI really do wishâŠâÂ
âWhat would you have done?âÂ
âIâd have my mouth everywhereâŠmarked your neckâŠ. marked those pretty breastsâŠ.fuck Y/n, youâd have to beg me to stop.âÂ
âDonât.â You moaned, pushing your shirt up with your free hand, grabbing a tit, squeezing it painfully hard. âTell me moreâŠâÂ
âIâd hold the toy for you, watch you fuck yourself on itâŠ.â He stroked himself faster, almost erratically. âMaybe give it to you from the back so I can see how your ass-âÂ
Groaning annoyed at the sound of music coming loudly from his pocket, your movements faltered, eyes widening. It was different from the ringtone earlier which probably meant-
âIs that Mina?âÂ
âYeah.âÂ
âP-pick it up Soonyoung.âÂ
âIgnore it.âÂ
âSoon-âÂ
âIgnore it.â He emphasized. âGo on Y/n, I donât know how long the effects of that toy are going to last.âÂ
And thatâs what made you stop wondering why Soonyoung wouldnât pick up the call when this was in fact the most ideal situation the two of you were meant to be caught in. You didnât want to lose what you were pumping inside you, you didnât want to lose the feeling of Seungcheol stretching you out. As you resumed the pace, Soonyoungâs voice left him like a croak.Â
âDo you like the thought of this? Someone listening to you get off?âÂ
You didnât want to answer that. Wasnât the kind of things you liked evident by the fact that you were fucking yourself to one man while watching and listening to another?Â
âBecause I love that youâre watching.â He whispered. âItâs driving me insane.âÂ
âI wanna see you cum.â You pulled the toy out of you, tossing it onto the towel before your fingers found your clit rubbing circles hard.
âFuck I'm close.â He pumped himself faster, losing rhythm, broken moans and whimpers leaving him. âSo close.â
Words left your mouth too as incoherent babbles as you felt your back arch and insides tighten pleasurably. Eyes crossing and shut tight, you finally came, chest heaving, trying to catch a breath. As you slowly came around and ran your fingers down your folds realising just how much you came, Soonyoung continued to push himself over the edge, like he just needed a little more nudge to finally find his release. Gulping you swung your legs off the bed and silently walked up to him, standing between his manspread, leaning till your lips were right by his ear.Â
âCum for me Soonyoung.âÂ
Almost immediately, with a guttural moan, his head fell back, baring his neck as spurts of cum shot onto his hand and torso, painting them white. Once the sheer amount left him he finally slumped back into his chair, breathing again, like he had been holding it in for too long. The sight of his cum all over his abs against the sheen of sweat on it made you clench unwillingly and you ran two fingers over it, collecting it. You knew his lips parted to catch his breath but you took the chance to slip your digits into his mouth, letting him taste himself. Surprised but not unpleasantly, Soonyoung ran his tongue along them, licking it clean, pulling away with a pop.
âYou taste as good as you sound.âÂ
It's only then that you realise your own arousal was coating your fingers too.Â
Scoffing awkwardly, you shuffled back, picking up your shorts and panties from the floor, putting them on slowly. Â
âI'm not dressed yet!â You shrieked, futilely trying to cover yourself as Soonyoung attempted to remove his blindfold. Holding his hand up, he allowed you to get dressed in the silence that followed. Silence that was too much to bear, silence that if he hadnât broken, you would have.Â
âI wasn't sure if I heard right but I thoughtâŠâ He let out a deep breath as he tucked his flaccid self back in his pants. âI thought you took someone's name as you came.âÂ
You froze.Â
You hadn't realised but now that you thought about itâŠ. maybe, just maybe, you had taken Seungcheolâs name as your orgasm hit you. Yes you were incredibly turned on by Soonyoung and the sight of him and the sounds that left him but there was only one thing running at the back of your mind - cheol, cheol, cheol.Â
âI'm not sure what you heard.â You brushed away his concerns, trying to sound casual. âI don't even know what I was saying, I was in some other zone entirely.âÂ
Soonyoung hummed in response and didn't push you for any further details. Grateful, you wiped your hands on the towel laid out before grabbing it, the bedsheet as well as the dildo and stuffed them all in your bag, throwing it over your shoulder - this was your mess to deal with.
âYou done?âÂ
âYeah justâŠ.put fresh sheets please.âÂ
âOh don't worry about all that.â He got up, attempting to take his blindfold yet again. âI got it. If you want you could-âÂ
âGoodbye Soonyoung.â You stepped back, knowing he was offering for you to stay the night. Instead you headed for the door, hoping to leave before your eyes met his again. âI hope I was of help.âÂ
And as you left, you heard him sigh, revealing something he probably didn't mean for you to hear.Â
âI don't think so Y/n.â
â
When you left Soonyoungâs house the rain had stopped but as you stood in the dining hall before the laundry machines the storm had returned yet again, much heavier this time. You glanced outside the windows at the obscurity sighing. It was like things just hated being in your favour.Â
When the ding of the washer went off, you shifted the sheets into the dryer and decided to leave it there for the night considering you couldn't carry them back in the rain - youâd deal with them in the morning anyways, you werenât ready to see Soonyoung just yet.
When you grabbed your bag from the floor, the weight had not reduced much - the dildo was still in it except it was back in its original popsicle-like shape, any trace of its resemblance to Seungcheol lost. You'd simply washed it and put it back in the bag, unsure what else to do with it. A part of you was annoyed that it had taken after Seungcheol of all people but the other was terrified that if you were to ever use it again, it would probably still model after him yet again.Â
Disappointed with yourself you took a deep breath and shook your head. No. No more Choi Seungcheol. This ends here.Â
Glancing at the machines one last time, you held onto your bag and ran out into the rain, hoping that Seungcheol had retired to his room by the time you reached. Instead, just as you approached the House of Zeus, you heard his voice.Â
âY/n!âÂ
He was drenched from head to toe, his blonde hair sticking to his face much like his shirt plastered against his pecs, like he had been soaked in the rain for hours. Letting out a struggled breath, you walked straight into his house, ignoring him. Seungcheol jogged over as fast as he could, putting himself in between you and the doors.Â
âY/n please listen to me-âÂ
âI donât want to.â You attempted to go around him, only to be blocked by him again.Â
âI just want to explain what happened earlier-âÂ
âI donât care enough for an explanation.â
âI do!âÂ
You rolled your eyes as you pushed him away, a lot less gently than you intended to and Seungcheol immediately caught your hand, pulling you towards him.
âSeungcheol-âÂ
âYouâŠ. you can touch me.â He looked at his fingers wrapped around your wrist in awe, then at your palm flat against his chest.
âDidnât you say you didnât want me to-âÂ
âYou shouldnât be able to.â He muttered like he was amazed, unable to tear his eyes away. âHow can youâŠ.âÂ
âSeungcheol, you're not making any sense.âÂ
He let out a deep breath. âIn all the powers a demigod has, some are protective, acting like a shield."
"Okay..." You frowned.
âAs the son of Zeus, mine isâŠ.a force field.â Oh. âAt times like war, or in adrenaline driven situations, I become highly charged, rendering anyone who so much as comes two feet near me electrocuted. It's supposed to be a way to weaken enemies.â He sighed, âThatâs why I was afraid of you touching me. I didnât want you to get hurt.âÂ
âButâŠ..Seungcheol Iâm not an enemy and this isnât a war-âÂ
âI get nervous around you.â He avoided your eye. âI donât know, I justâŠ.. I can feel my skin prickling around you butâŠâŠâ He glanced at where your hands met his again. âYou donât feel anything?âÂ
âNo, no I donât but why do I make you nervous?âÂ
Seungcheol smiled softly. âDo you really not know?âÂ
You suppressed the grin forming on your own face. Fucking finally.Â
âNo.â You shook your head feigning innocence. âTell me.âÂ
âCan I show you?âÂ
Maybe you nodded a bit too eagerly, because Seungcheol chuckled, pushing himself up against the door, pulling you along with him. As your body pressed against his, his hands found your waist, gaze darkening. He leaned in, lips hovering over yours, whispering your name softly, like he loved the sound of it. As your breaths mingled, lightning went off behind you, the silver light illuminating his gorgeous face and all its sharp angles. And just as you moved closer, eyes fluttering shut, Seungcheol cleared his throat.Â
âY/n Iâm sorry, I forgot that itâs late and we have training at 4 tomorrow.â He muttered, drawing his hands away. âYou should sleep. I canât excuse your lateness everyday.âÂ
And yet again Choi Seungcheol left you completely baffled as he opened the door behind him and walked in, away from you.Â

This wasnât supposed to happen. You werenât supposed to be in this battleânot today, not like this. But the gods, your so-called parents, had once again decided to throw you and the other half-bloods into the fray, using you like pawns on a celestial chessboard. It wasnât fair, and some of you had dared to say so, but really, who could stand up to Zeus? Who would risk it, knowing the cost?
The fight had started off manageableâa few monsters, nothing you and your friends couldnât handle. Youâd thought maybe, just maybe, this would be one of the easier ones. But that hope shattered when the Minotaurs appeared, chaos erupted, and before you knew it, the battlefield had turned into a gruesome field of broken bodies and spilled blood. Friends, strangers, creaturesâdead or dying everywhere you turned.
You shouldâve been stronger. As the daughter of one of the more prominent Greek gods, you were supposed to rise above, to lead, to fight. But even godly lineage has its limits. You were cornered before you could react, outnumbered and outmatched. Their strikes were brutal, unrelenting, and though you fought back with everything you had, it wasnât enough.
Now, here you are, crumpled on the ground, blood soaking through your torn armor and pooling around you. Every breath burns, every movement feels like a thousand daggers stabbing into your flesh. You can hear the shouts of your friends somewhere in the distance, but their voices are drowned out by the pounding in your ears.
You canât die here. You wonât die here. But as the darkness creeps in, swallowing the edges of your sight, you canât help but wonder if this time, the gods have pushed you too far.
You looked down at your wounds, at the crimson streaks running down your arms and hands. Your fingers were stained red, trembling as you struggled to make sense of the pain. It was everywhereâyour chest, your legs, your ribs. Every breath you took felt like fire, every movement sent waves of agony through your body. Youâd never been to Tartarus, but you swore this was what it must feel like. This was suffering, pure and unrelenting, and you didnât know how much more you could take.
For a moment, the thought crossed your mind: you could just close your eyes. Let the pain take over. Give up and let the darkness swallow you whole. But before you could give in, something in the corner of your vision caught your attention. Him.
Sim Jake.
Son of Ares.
Even now, bruised and bloodied, barely holding himself upright, he kept fighting. He refused to back down, even when it looked like his body might give out at any second.
And he was your crush.
From the moment you arrived at Camp Half-Blood, clueless and scared, he had been there. Youâd met him on your first day, wandering aimlessly, overwhelmed by the realization that you were a demigod. He had found you and, without hesitation, taken you under his wing. Heâd taught you the ropesâhow to hold a sword, how to defend yourself, how to survive. He showed you kindness when you needed it most, and slowly, over time, youâd fallen for him.
How could you not? There was so much to love about Jake. His soft curls that always seemed to fall perfectly into place. His warm, puppy-like eyes that somehow made you feel safe. His confidence, his humor, the way he smiled like he had the entire world in his hands. He was fierce and brave, yet gentle in a way you hadnât expected from someone like him, someone whose father was the God of war.
Jake was... Jake.
And to you, he was everything.
But what were you to him? A friend? A sister figure? A pupil heâd taken under his wing out of pity? You didnât know, but the idea of confessing your feelings only to be rejected kept you silent. Why would someone like him ever like someone like you? Jake deserved someone strong, someone who could stand by his side in battle without faltering. Not you, bleeding out on the ground, helpless and weak.
You shook your head, trying to push the thoughts away, but they lingered. You didnât deserve him. That much, you were sure of. And yet, even as you tried to convince yourself to let go of the hopeless dream, you couldnât take your eyes off him.
You loved him. So, so much. Even when you didnât want to. Even when you tried to tell yourself it was foolish, that it would never work. But no matter how hard you fought it, your heart always betrayed you. And somehow, that hurt so much more than any of the physical pain you were feeling. The ache in your chest burned hotter than the cuts on your skin, sharper than the bruises blooming across your body.
You told yourself youâd had enoughâenough fighting, enough struggling, enough everything. So, you stayed where you were, content to just watch him in your final moment.
But then you saw it.
A creature.
It was creeping toward Jakeâs blind spot, its movements silent. He was too busy fighting off another monster to notice.
He didnât see it.
He didnât see it.
Your body moved before your mind could process what was happening. You didnât know where the sudden rush of adrenaline came from, but it didnât matter. Pain surged through you as you forced yourself to your feet, the wounds screaming in protest, but you ignored it. Your hand found your sword, then your shield, both slick with blood as you grabbed them from the ground.
You staggered forward, limping and breathless, but your focus never left him. The creature was getting closer. Too close. Panic clawed at your chest as you tried to move faster, your battered legs trembling beneath you. Every step felt impossible, but you didnât stop. You couldnât stop.
âJake!â you screamed, your voice hoarse but desperate enough to make him turn. His wide eyes found you, shock flashing across his face as you barreled toward him, pushing yourself past the limits of what you thought you could endure.
Before he could say a word, before he could ask what you were doing, you threw yourself against his back. The impact sent a fresh wave of agony through your body, but you bit down the cry threatening to escape. You raised your shield just as the creature lunged, its attack colliding with the metal in a sickening crash.
The force of the blow rattled your bones, nearly knocking you over, but it didnât hit Jake. It didnât hurt him. You held firm, your shield braced as you stood between him and the creature, refusing to let it lay a single claw on him.
For a moment, everything else fadedâthe chaos, the deaths, the battlefield, the blood. All that mattered was that Jake was safe.
And you wanted to make sure he stayed safe. That was all that mattered. With a shout that burned your throat, you pushed the creature back with all the strength you had left, raising your sword and slashing it across the neck. The monster let out a guttural cry before falling, its body crumpling to the ground, lifeless.
You stood there for a moment, panting, trembling, and turned to Jake. He had just bested the last of his opponents, his blade still in hand, his chest heaving with exhaustion. The relief that flooded you was overwhelming. He was okay. Jake was okay. That was all you needed to know.
But your body had reached its limit. The adrenaline that had kept you standing drained away in an instant, leaving only the crushing weight of your injuries behind. Your legs buckled beneath you, and you fell. Your sword and shield slipped from your hands, clattering to the ground with a dull metallic crash.
You barely registered the sting of the impact as your body hit the ground, too numb, too tired to care. The edges of your vision blurred, darkened, but you could still see Jake turning toward you, his eyes wide with alarm.
âNo!â His voice was panicked, cutting through the haze that threatened to pull you under. You wanted to respond, to tell him you were fineâor at least lie and say you wereâbut the words wouldnât come. Your body felt heavy, your limbs like lead.
You tried to lift your head, but the effort was too much. All you could do was watch as Jake dropped his weapon, and rushed toward you. You wanted to smile at him, to reassure him, but the darkness was too strong.
You felt so numb, so cold⊠like the warmth was slowly draining from your body. The pain that had consumed you earlier was gone now, replaced by an eerie emptiness. But then, you felt itâJakeâs arms around you, pulling you close. His warmth pressed against your chilled skin, his frantic movements jolting your mind just enough to keep the darkness at bay. His voice was desperate, trembling as he spoke, though his words were distant, muffled by the haze clouding your mind.
You blinked sluggishly, trying to focus, trying to understand, and thatâs when you felt something wet against your face. It wasnât bloodâit was warm, and it fell in soft drops that rolled down your cheeks. It took you longer than it should have to realize they werenât your tears.
Jake was crying.
Your Jake. The brave, unshakable son of Ares. The boy who faced monsters and gods without flinching, who always smiled even when the odds were stacked against him. His face was twisted in anguish, his tears falling freely as he cradled you like you were the most fragile thing in the world. His voice broke as he spoke your name over and over, his hands shaking as he tried to keep pressure on your wounds.
Why was he crying?
Your mind felt too foggy, too far gone to make sense of it. You wanted to ask him, to tell him you were fineâeven if it was a lieâbut your lips wouldnât move. Instead, you stared up at him, your heavy eyelids threatening to close, wondering why he looked so heartbroken.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered, his voice cracking as he pressed his forehead against yours. âIâm so sorry. Please⊠please stay with me. I canâtââ His words choked off into a sob, and his grip on you tightened, as if holding you closer could somehow keep you here.
Sorry? What was he sorry for? You didnât understand. Your chest ached, not from pain, but from the look on his faceâthe fear and desperation in his eyes. Youâd never seen him like this before, and it hurt more than any wound ever could.
âJakeâŠâ you finally managed to whisper, though your voice was barely audible. It took every ounce of strength you had left, and even then, it felt like the effort might break you. His head snapped up at the sound of your voice, his tear-streaked face hovering above yours.
âYes! Yes,â he said quickly, his tone a mix of relief and panic. âIâm here. Iâm right here. Donâtâdonât you dare close your eyes. Stay with me. Please.â
You wanted to obey, to stay awake like he begged, but the numbness was spreading, the world around you blurring again. Still, you fought to keep your gaze locked on him, his familiar face the only anchor you had left. You wanted to tell him everythingâto tell him you loved him, that he was the reason you kept fighting, that he was your everything. But all that came out was a weak, trembling whisper.
âWhy⊠are you crying?â
Jakeâs face crumpled again, and a fresh wave of tears spilled from his eyes. He shook his head, brushing your hair back gently as if trying to soothe you. âBecause I canât lose you,â he said, his voice breaking with every word. âI canât. Iââ He swallowed hard, his chest heaving as he forced the words out. âBecause I canât lose you,â he choked out, his voice trembling like it was on the verge of shattering. He looked so lost, so helpless, his usual confidence stripped away.
âI canât lose you, not you,â he rambled, his words tumbling out like a dam had broken. âI wouldnât know what to do without you. Youâreâyouâre everything, and I shouldâve told you that. I shouldâve stayed with you during the battle, I shouldâve protected you betterââ His voice broke again, a sob catching in his throat. âBut I wasnât strong enough, and now⊠now youâreââ He cut himself off, shaking his head furiously, as though refusing to even acknowledge the possibility.
His hands trembled as he cupped your face, his thumbs brushing away blood and dirt like he could somehow make everything better by sheer force of will. âYou canât leave me. You canât,â he said, his voice rising in desperation. âI canât live without you. I donât want to. Do you hear me? I need you. I need you.â
Tears streaked down his face, landing on your cheeks and mingling with the blood there. You stared up at him, your body too weak to move, too drained to respond. But your mind⊠your mind raced. His words, his confessionâit didnât feel real. Jake, your Jake, was falling apart in front of you, his heart laid bare, and you didnât know how to process it.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered, his voice raw with guilt. âIâm so sorry. This is my fault. If I had just stayed with you, if Iâd justââ He clenched his jaw, his fists tightening as though trying to hold back the anger at himself. âI shouldâve been there. I shouldâve been by your side, protecting you. Thatâs all I ever wantedâto keep you safe. And I failed.â
You wanted to tell him he was wrong, that it wasnât his fault, that heâd done more for you than anyone ever had. But the words wouldnât come, your body too weak to obey. All you could do was stare at him, wide-eyed, your heart pounding despite your exhaustion.
Jakeâs gaze searched yours, his desperation deepening when he noticed your silence. âPlease, say something,â he begged, his voice breaking. âYell at me, tell me Iâm an idiot, anything. Just⊠donât leave me. Please..â His forehead pressed against yours again, his warm breath mixing with your shallow, ragged gasps.
The world around you felt distant, muted, but Jake⊠Jake was so close, his presence so overwhelming that it was the only thing keeping you tethered to reality. And even through the haze, you could feel your heart breaking at the sight of him. Youâd never seen him like thisânever seen him so completely shattered.
You wanted to reassure him, to tell him it was okay, that you werenât giving up. But all you could do was keep staring, stunned by his confession. The boy you thought could never love you the way you loved him was here, holding you like you were his entire world, begging you to stay, telling you he needed you.
You didnât know how this would end, whether youâd survive the injuries tearing you apart, but in that moment, you found the strength to part your lips, even if only slightly.
âJakeâŠâ you whispered, barely audible, but it was enough to make his head snap up, his tear-streaked face inches from yours. You saw the hope flicker in his eyes, the way he clung to the sound of your voice like it was the only thing keeping him alive.
âIâŠâ Your voice faltered, the effort too much, but you managed a small, trembling smile. You needed him to know, no matter what happened next. âYouâre wrong. You⊠you didnât fail me.â
âNo,â Jake said sharply, his voice trembling with barely-contained emotion. âI did fail you.â His hands pressed harder against your wounds, though you both knew it wasnât helping. He looked at you like he was trying to will you back to life with sheer determination, his tears falling faster now. âIf I was just a little stronger, just a little faster⊠youâd be standing with me right now. Victorious. Unharmed. Unscathed.â
His voice cracked, and he shook his head, his lips pulling into a thin, anguished line. âYou wouldnât be here, bleeding out in my arms. You wouldnâtââ His breath hitched, and he closed his eyes for a moment, his shoulders trembling. âYou wouldnât be dying.â
You wanted to argue, to tell him he was wrong, that none of this was his fault. But you couldnât. Not because you agreed with him, but because you already knew the truth. He wasnât wrong about one thingâyou were dying. The warmth in your body was all but gone, replaced by a chilling numbness that crept deeper with every passing second. You could feel it now, the faint pull. You wouldnât survive this. No godly intervention, no miracle could save you.
So what was the point in denying it? If this was the end, you knew there was something you had to do. Youâd carried the weight of your feelings for too long, burying them out of fear of rejection, of heartbreak. But now⊠now you didnât have to be afraid. If he rejected you, it wouldnât matter. Youâd be gone, and thereâd be no heartbreak to endure.
What better time to confess than when you had nothing left to lose?
Your lips trembled as you summoned the last of your strength, your voice a mere whisper. âJakeâŠâ
His eyes snapped back to yours, the desperation in them piercing through the haze clouding your mind. âWhat is it? Donât try to talkâjust hold on, okay? Youâll be fine. Iâll get you out of here, I swear.â
You wanted to smile at his stubborn hope, but your body was too weak. Instead, you forced out the words youâd never had the courage to say before. âI⊠I need to tell you something.â
Jakeâs brow furrowed, his panic deepening. âNo, you donât. You can tell me later, okay? When youâre betterââ
âJake,â you interrupted, your tone firmer this time despite the weakness in your voice. He froze, his lips parting slightly as he stared at you. You swallowed hard, forcing the lump in your throat down as you looked into his eyes, memorizing every detail of his face.
âI love you,â you whispered, the words leaving your lips so softly they almost got lost in the chaos around you. But Jake heard them. You saw the way his expression shifted, the way his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. âIâve loved you for so long. And I⊠Iâm sorry I never told you before, but I couldnât. I was scared.â
His mouth opened as if to say something, but no sound came out. You pushed forward, desperate to get it all out. âI didnât think youâd feel the same. But IâI needed to tell you. Just once.â A weak, bittersweet smile tugged at the corners of your lips. âEven if you donât feel the same, itâs okay. I just⊠I needed you to know.â
Jakeâs face crumpled again, his tears falling faster now as he shook his head. âNo,â he said, his voice breaking. âYou donât get to do this. You donât get to say that and thenââ He stopped himself, his hand cupping your cheek as he leaned closer, his forehead nearly touching yours. âI feel the same... Iâve loved you for as long as I can remember.â
Your heart ached at his words, both with joy and sorrow. You wanted to hold onto that moment forever, but you could feel yourself slipping away, your vision blurring at the edges. âJakeâŠâ you whispered, his name a soft breath on your lips.
âNo, donât you dare,â he said, his voice rising in panic as he shook you gently. âDonât you dare close your eyes. Youâre staying with me, do you hear me? I love you, and youâre staying with me. Please.â
But his voice was growing fainter, the world around you dimming as the darkness closed in. All you could see was him, his tear-streaked face and trembling hands, his love for you written in every broken word he spoke.
And as the last of your strength faded, you managed one final smile, your fingers brushing weakly against his hand. âI love you too,â you whispered, and then everything went still.
You wouldnât know that Jakeâs screams echoed across the battlefield, piercing through the chaos like a dagger to the heart of everyone who heard it. His cries were filled with so much anguish that even the monsters seemed to hesitate, their bloodlust momentarily stalled by the sheer force of his grief.
He clutched your lifeless body to his chest, his arms trembling as he held you as tightly as he could, as though refusing to let you slip away completely. His tears soaked into your bloodied clothes, his face buried in your hair as he sobbed. âNo, no, no,â he chanted over and over, his voice cracking with every word. âPlease⊠not you. Anyone but you.â
Jake felt like his entire world had collapsed. His heart was shattered, broken beyond repair, leaving nothing but a hollow void in its place.
âYou canât leave me,â he whispered, his voice hoarse and barely audible now. âI canât⊠I canât do this without you. You promised me. You said youâd stay.â His fingers brushed against your cheek, smearing the blood there as if trying to bring color back to your pale skin. But it was futile. He knew that. Deep down, he knew.
Yet he couldnât let go.
His body shook as he leaned down, pressing his forehead to yours, his tears falling like rain onto your face. âIâm sorry,â he choked out, his voice breaking again. âIâm so sorry. I shouldâve been stronger. I shouldâve protected you.â
But no matter how many times he apologized, no matter how many tears he shed, it wouldnât bring you back. And that thought⊠that reality⊠was unbearable.
Jake felt his breathing grow ragged, his chest tightening painfully as the weight of your absence threatened to crush him completely. He couldnât imagine a world without you. A world where your laughter didnât fill the air, where your smile didnât light up his days. A world where he didnât get to tell you how much he loved you every single day.
âI canât do this,â he whispered, his voice trembling. âNot without you. I canât.â His hands shook as they clung to you, his knuckles white from the force of his grip. He didnât care about the battle raging around him. He didnât care about the blood still staining his hands. All he cared about was you. And you were gone.
He pressed a soft, trembling kiss to your forehead, his lips lingering there as his tears continued to fall. âI love you,â he whispered, his voice so soft it was almost lost in the wind. âI always have. I always will.â
But the pain didnât go away. It only grew, consuming him like fire, burning through his resolve and leaving nothing but ashes in its wake. He didnât know how to go on. He didnât know if he could.
Because a world without you wasnât a world worth living in.
Jakeâs trembling hands slowly reached for the pendant around your neckâthe one heâd given you months ago, after youâd bested him in a sparring match. It was simple, unassuming, but it had meant the world to him when youâd accepted it. Now, it was all he had left of you. He unclasped it with shaking fingers, clutching it tightly in his palm as if it were the only thing tethering him to what little sanity he had left.
âIâll see you again,â he whispered, his voice so broken it was barely audible. âI promise. Iâll come to you. Just⊠wait for me.â
As the battle raged on, Jake didnât care about the outcome anymore. He didnât care about the gods or their games, or the war that had taken everything from him. All he cared about was the promise heâd just made. To you. To the only person who had ever truly mattered.

On Rising Swells
Part Seven of The Pirate AU. As always, 18+ for this series. No smut in this one, but they do take off their clothes for plot(?) ~4.4k words
You expect more to change, after finding out that your husband has strange, unexplainable magic running through his bones, after finding out that he died.
But nothing does, not really. Kori brings your dinner to Jason's quarters, you fall asleep alone, and when you find the courage to make your way above deck in the morning, there isn't a hint of blood on the wooden planks.
Jason keeps his distance, at least his version of distance. He lingers just out of your space, pretends to occupy himself with coiling lines and inspecting the horizon.
The crew treats you as if you've never left, as if an entire ship of soldiers weren't slaughtered in your name. It's almost overbearing, but Rose's lessons with your dagger and Roy's endless, friendly jokes and easy-going conversations lull you into a routine.
The Outlaws' ship is by no means small, but with only so many places to go and Jason's inability to be unaware of where you are, you're not surprised that within a few days he finds his way back into your bed as the moon rises. You should be more upset when he lifts the covers carefully, and oh so slowly, wraps his arms around your middle to pull you back against his chest.
But you can't find it in yourself to be mad, not really. His affliction, as otherworldly as it seems, kept him alive. And for as hurt as you want to be over being on the outside of another secret, what has its clutches on your heart is how much you missed him.
You missed his warmth when you were in Central City. His kisses across your skin. His sweet words and adoration and eyes that shine at you like you hold all the secrets of the world between your fingers.
You missed your husband, so if you trace his scars after his breathing evens out in the night and thank whatever higher power has healed his wounds time and time again, it is no one's business but your own.
The days pass to weeks as you settle into place. You relearn which knot is less likely to slip when you work high on the mast, you find your sea legs during a particularly nasty storm that cracks lightning across the ominous clouds.
You find out exactly how many rounds of ale, wine, and rum you can handle as Jason and his crew spins and sings tales of their adventures.
Their stories no longer seem so tall now that you've seen evidence of magic with your own eyes. The words they share about glowing stones, demigods with impossible strength, and sea monsters no longer ring as falsehoods or myth.
You can't help but be fascinated by Donna's whispered memories of her childhood, of the island made entirely of woman warriors that sound like they come from legend. You're equally enthralled by Roy's stories of Atlanteans and the sorcerers he's met who can command water and sea creatures with just their minds.
But skills and stories aren't the only things you've taken to committing to memory. It's your husband, Jason, who takes up most of your thoughts and time.
The sound of his laugh rings in your ears long since it's faded from the air. The feel of his hand steady on your back lingers even after he moves away. The smell of the sea and leather and something so uniquely him fills your bedsheets even after he's slipped from your side to navigate his ship through choppy waters.
You study him, when he's occupied with shouting orders to his crew, when his back is to you and all you can see is the foreboding red of his hat and coat that sends even the bravest of sailors to a state of panic.
He feels like a mystery sometimes, with scars even he fails to remember where or how he got.
But his breath still shallows the same when you press a kiss to his shoulder. His eyes still darken and focus completely on you in the moments before he drives you into seeing stars. He still kisses you like you're everything he's ever really wanted.
Weeks at sea with him have proven one thing over and over again, Jason Todd is still your husband, and that means he still feels like home, no matter how your doubts fester and curl in the pit of your stomach.
And you've found that you like being at sea, the adventure it brings. You like the crew and the friendship they've offered you. You, though you would never admit it out loud, like Jason. You like that he treats you the same as when you had first gotten married.
You like when he calls you treasure, when he says it as if you're truly the most precious thing in his possession.
You know all this, but you can't seem to stop yourself from darting closer and closer to the ship's railing, eyes fixed on the dark, churning water below.
All of this is true, and all of this you know. Even if it isn't perfect, you're the happiest you've been in years.
The world is at your fingertips, a pirate lord is at your beck and call, and the ships maps have been plotted for an island with sandy beaches and a secret lagoon that Jason swears has the most beautiful waterfall you'll ever see, and he can't wait to see you try jumping from its cliffs.
There's yelling behind you, shouts of your name and pleads, and your brain vaguely catches the word 'sirens'. In the back of your mind, you know that means something, but all you can really focus on is the mesmerizing song filling your every sense.
"Come closer," itâ theyâ the water tells you. The voice is a symphony of everything you've ever wanted, all your innermost desires and longings in the cadence of Jason's.
A part of you knows that doesn't make sense. Jason went below deck to fetch you a heavier coat to stave off the chill of the impending storm, the wind that whips and bites at your face. But logic doesn't rule your mind at the moment.
"I can give you what you want," the ocean sings, and you listen. You don't feel the desperate hands grabbing at the back of your clothes as you launch yourself over the railing, all you notice is that there's suddenly no surface beneath your feet and that the voiceâ voices in the water are pitching with glee.
The fall is quick. A rush of air against your skin, and then you're freezing. It's enough to shake you from your trance for a moment, for you to realize how much danger you're in, for you to know that no matter how sweet Jason's voice is, it's not really him.
You have just enough time to be grateful you're not wearing the heavy layers of your old dresses, before the symphony of melodies starts again, surrounding you and drawing you back under their spell.
The waves crash over your head, cold fingers brush over your ankles, threatening to pull you down beneath the sea, but you aren't afraid. The song is beautiful, it whispers soothing promises of a pretty garden filled with roses and flowers you've never even dreamed of before.
Heâ theyâ sing about the life you were going to have, the life you did have. It weaves ballads of sunrise and sunsets while you lay on silk sheets and you swear you can see all that it's vowing to give you just below the surface of the water.
So you reach for it, draw in a deep breath and swim down and even as your lungs burn and vision blurs, you kick and claw and beg for the chance to just brush your fingers over the tune that's hypnotized you so completely.
The human-like shapes that dart around you aren't important, the bell-like laughs and dark dots that start to take over your vision don't mean a thing.
The voices lament poetry of promises of your future, even as your world starts to go black, "A family," they sing, painting you a picture of Roy, of Artemis, of Koriâ the entire crew grinning and reaching for you, "You could be so happy with us."
A hand caresses your face, and the water itself seems to smile at you, beckoning you closer. You think you're about to reach it, you just need a little more, just one more second and everything you've dreamed of since the night you first lost your husband will be yours.
But it doesn't come. What comes instead is an arm around your waist, hauling your head back above the waves. You think you scream, or maybe the sea wails at the loss of you. You kick your feet, shove at the body dragging you through the water and away from the voice.
"Treasure," the voiceâ noâ Jason snaps at you, "It's me, it's me. Stop fighting."
You sag for a moment, confused and exhausted. The song still has a hold on your mind, still has you wanting to dive back below the waves. You were so close, and if he could just let go of you, you could sink back down to where all your desires are waiting for you.
You suck in a breath, soothing your aching lungs as you try to find the energy to fight him. But something stops you.
Just pass his shoulder, a face bares its teeth at you. It's beautiful, with eyes reminiscent of crystal and diamond, but your every instinct screams danger. The thingâ the siren lunges at you, and you bury your face in your husband's shoulder for what seems to be the last time as you wait for it to drag you below the waves.
But the siren never touches you. You're hauled into the air instead, Jason's harsh curses filling your ears, as he grapples with keeping one hand on you, and one on the rope tugging you both to safety. You feel nauseous as you scramble to grab onto Jason, digging your nails into the fabric of his shirt to try and steady yourself.
Rough hands grab you once you near the railing, pulling you on deck as you cough water out of your lungs. The hypnotizing melody still hums in your ears, though it grows weaker, you still have the urge to follow it, but Jason's warmth against your side keeps you grounded, even as the ship rocks precariously in the rising waves.
Your throat burns as you sink to the ground. You didn't realize how much salt water you swallowed. Boots pound on the planks around you, gun shots occasionally sounding as the crew shouts at each other, but Jason doesn't move his body from yours. You don't look at him, can't.
You're almost embarrassed, ashamed to have been so desperate for a past you can't go back to that you fell for the siren's cursed song. You knew it wasn't him, that the Jason you married doesn't exist anymore, you just didn't realize how much of a hold that memory still had on you.
You feel even colder now that you're out of the water. You've lost one of your shoes to the sea, and your clothes stick uncomfortably to your body.
Jason says something. You can feel the vibrations of his voice against you, but you don't register the words. He presses a kiss to your temple. It makes your throat tighten. You almost died and, in turn, almost got him killed.
He stands, helping you up on your shaky legs before carefully passing you to Kori. He says something again as you slump against her, you catch the word 'tea' and 'just need a moment', before his presence is gone from your side.
You force your gaze to his back as he leaves. He's soaked, hair matted and dripping. There's claw marks torn into the back of his shirt, down his pants leg, but no sign of blood or injury. The sight makes you all the more nauseous and ashamed.
Kori turns you away from him and guides you below deck, towards the galley. She only stops to let Bizzaro wrap your shivering frame in a heavy blanket. She helps you sit, before flitting around the kitchen, and neither of you speak until she's pushed a hot mug into your hands.
You fidget, reeling, and eyes downcast. Your mind clears more, now that you're out of the air that seemed to vibrate with magic. You remember how you wanted to watch the storm clouds roll in over the horizon. How a soft lullaby started to fill the air, just after Jason left you to go below deck, and how the crew laughed over song.
'Pointless,' Roy had said, grinning and fearless, 'Siren magic can't touch us.' But it had certainly affected you.
"Why didn't anyone else jump," you ask quietly, almost uneasy to hear the answer. You wait for Kori to tell you that you're weak. That you were never meant to be among a crew of ruthless, but none the less talented pirates.
She says none of those things, just sits herself at your side, uncaring that you're slowly creating a puddle of sea water on the bench. "Oh, that would be Garth's spell."
You run a quick mental check, and, no, there's definitely no Garth on this ship. You huff, frustrated at yourself and your own lack of information, "Who's Garth."
She hums, absently mindedly, reaching out to push at your mug, encouraging you to drink, "He is known as Tempest, he sails with The Titans."
She waits for you to drink before continuing, "They owed us a favor, so he cast a spell on us that nulls siren's music. It's a boring story compared to what I usually tell you, no?"
"The Titans," you mumble, taking another sip of the tea. The Titans are familiar enough to you, a group of treasure hunting adventurers that've occasionally taken out some rather dangerous pirates. You think you recall them coming to Gotham once or twice, but you don't think you've ever seen their infamous captain Nightwing, "Why did they owe you?"
Kori pats your knee, eyes going a little sad, "There was⊠They had an issue with a mercenary. One we took care of. I suppose we forgot the spell's protection didn't extend to you. I'm sorry we didn't think of it andâ I'm glad you're safe."
You open your mouth to wave off her apology with your own and explain that you should be thanking her for how much she's done for you, how at home and welcomed she's made you feel with her stories. (and maybe to pry into what mercenary could cause issues for a group like The Titans, who apparently have spellcasters within their crew)
But your words die in your throat as she continues to talk, plucking your empty mug from your hand to place it down, "But, you know, Jason never needed a spell. Even before, siren songs never affected him. He always said it was because he knew you couldn't be out here, that what they were promising wasn't real."
She smiles at you, then, warm and soft and fond, "It's easy to see why he loves you so much."
You think she's trying to make you feel better, and it almost works. You crave stories of your husband from the times you were without him, and it makes your heart ache to know how much he's really, truly loved you even after so much time apart.
But it serves just as much to make you guilty. Maybe you don't love him as much, or as strongly, if you were entranced by the spell. Maybe you're fighting a losing battle, by staying with him and his ship.
Your thoughts are cut short as the galley's doors are thrown open, and Jason, who you barely have time to note is still dripping with salt water, strides over to where you and Kori are sitting.
His eyes dart over you as he kneels at your feet, lifting your hands to rub some semblance of warmth back into your fingertips. "Does anything hurt," he asks gently, fretting as familiar worry lines crease his brow.
He raises your hands to his lips to blow warm air over your skin when you shake your head, his gaze not reassured of your truthfulness. You think he'd strip you bare right there on the table if not for Kori's easy, knowing smile over his mother henning.
She stands, pressing a kiss to your cheek and then one to Jason's, "Go dry off in your cabin, lovers."
Jason spares her a reluctant glance before focusing back on you, "But the stormâ"
"Is something we can handle, Captain. Now go on, before they catch a cold," Kori nods to you on her way out the door, voice all light and teasing as she disappears down the hall. It's only then you start to notice that you've been shivering, the blanket nearly as wet as you are.
"Dry clothes first," Jason murmurs, eyeing your one boot. He scoops you up without warning, one arm under your knees and one across your back, to carry you through the door and towards his quarters. You hardly have the energy to protest, but you are aware enough to notice that his skin is warm to the touch.
"How are you not cold," you grumble, fidgeting with the threads of the blanket to occupy yourself. He seems to relax at the sound of your voice, but you can't quite pinpoint why.
He hums as he pushes open the door to his room, walking over to the bed to slowly sit you on the edge. He kneels down, removing your lone boot and making a face as you both watch the water that pours out of it. Jason pulls the blanket from your shoulders, tossing aside before answering, "I rarely get cold now."
He doesn't elaborate, and you want to pry, you do, but his fingers dip under your shirt, callused and hot against your skin. It's distracting in the nicest way.
He removes each layer of soaked fabric with a reverence that makes you want to melt in relief and cry in distress all at once. He peels the stockings from your thighs, a frown crosses his face at the faint scratches across your ankle. "You didn't mention these," he says, eyes snapping up to yours.
"I didn't feel them," you admit, honest. You don't remember losing your boot, didn't feel the claws that tried to drag you down. You just remember how much you wanted to swim deeper, follow the haunting melody that spun around you beneath the waves.
His gaze never leaves you, as he presses a loving kiss to your skin, soothing the sting of the marks, "I'll make it up to you."
That pulls you from your lulled state, and you knit your eyebrows as he begins to kiss his way up your calf, murmuring apologies, "It shouldn't have happened, treasure. Not to you."
"You're being ridiculous," You breathe out, reaching for the linens to cover your bare skin, "It was no one's fault but my own, and I'm fine, you pulled me out of the water."
His hands travel up your legs to rest on your thighs, not hiding his concern over the way you try to hide yourself from him, "My love, being affected by magic is not a burden for you to bear. Everything that happens on this ship is my responsibility. And that goes double for the one that's wearing my ring."
You lose your words at his reaction, his sentiments, unsure of what to do. Jason sighs heavily, wrapping his arms around your middle to draw you close, so that he can bury his face in your chest and listen to the beat of your heart.
You instinctively reach up to card your fingers through his wet hair. It's silent for a moment, and then he exhales shakily, "I thought you hadâ I was afraid, treasure, when you weren't where I had left you. I couldn'tâ all I saw were those things trying to lure you further from the ship."
You squeeze your eyes shut at his words. You knew, of course, that Jason was the reason you were alive, safe on board his ship. You knew he was the reason you didn't drown, left to be a meal for the mythical sirens. You knew that you both could have died.
But it's only now that you're settled, out of harm's way and on his bed that it really registers that he'd jumped into the stormy tides after you.
You wonder if he hesitated. You wonder if he doubted, for even a moment, that you were worth the trouble. You know it's unfair, and you can't find the words to ask, so you open your eyes to look down at him. "You're still soaked," you say instead, pointing out the obvious and letting your hand fall from his hair.
He laughs a little, pressing a kiss over your heart, before standing to strip out of his own sea-matted clothes. Jason doesn't bother dressing as he guides both of you towards the center of the bed. You can tell he has half a mind to just lay on top of you, to keep you shielded on the off-chance there's magic still controlling your mind.
You're grateful that he doesn't. He tangles his legs with yours instead, as you lay on your side, and he presses his forehead to yours, eyes blown wide, but so intently focused.
"I can't lose you again," he tells you, one hand pressed firmly against the small of your back, and the other curled around the nape of your neck, holding you steady.
"I don't have the strength for it, treasure," he whispers, voice lowering as he searches your eyes for something, though you can't begin to guess for what. His words are familiar, heavy, and you find yourself wanting to say the right thing.
"I have nowhere to go," you try, hoping your words are what he's looking for, "and I want to see that island you promised me. Santa Prisca, right? With the best rum of all the isles?"
You think you got it wrong, that he might be disappointed, when his arm leaves your waist so he can cup your face, "Darling, you know you can rely on me for anything. Whatever you saw down there, whatever they promised you, I'd find a way to give it to you. You know that, right?"
"I know," you say softly, almost overwhelmed by the sureness of his voice, the firmness of his gaze. Flashes of the life they showed you rear their head in your mind's eye. The garden. The roses. The sunrise on your skin. A family. Him as he was. The past and a future that seemed so secure ripped away.
"And if, treasureâ if this isn't enoughâ"
You surge forward to kiss him, silencing his words. The ache in his voice, the anxieties in his eyes, every part of you wants to quell them. What the sirens showed you is unreachable, and for as broken and confusing as things are now, Jason Todd is your husband. Your vows, your loveâ none of that has changed even if both of you have.
You only pull away when the tension starts to fade from his body, "This is enough. What they showed me doesn't mean anything. It wasn't real."
He studies you for a moment, thumb brushing over your cheek, "What did you see, love? What called you away from me so desperately?"
"I don't remember," you answer quickly, maybe a little too quickly to be believable. But Jason doesn't press, only wraps you up more securely in his arms, warding off the chill of the ocean that lingers in your bones.
"The sea should calm tomorrow," he murmurs, pressing his face to the top of your head, "With the wind on our side we'll be shore side in a few days and you can try all the rum you'd ever want to, treasure."
It's an olive branch, you think, a way to let you keep your words buried in your throat. Jason would let you drift to sleep, pretend that none of this happened, and he didn't dive headfirst in danger for you, and you didn't lie about why you did. It feels wrong, cruel even, to not attempt to trust in him.
"There was a garden," you whisper like it's a grand secret, "filled with flowers I've never seen before. Some that I didn't even know existed." You know it's not enough, that there's no way he'd believe you'd throw yourself over the side of the ship for just the promise of some pretty petals.
But he smiles into your hair and starts to trace patterns across your back, "Flowers, huh, treasure? I can do that."
"I saw the crew," you breathe out, tucking your face against him to hide whatever weakness you're sure is painting your face.
"Aye," he prompts, dragging his hand tenderly over your spine, "Did you?"
"You were there, too," You say, speaking before you can second guess yourself, voice going even more hushed as the air seems to go still at your admission.
His fingers still on your skin before continuing their absentminded path, "Is that so?"
You nod against his chest, you almost feel lighter, freer, at peeling away some of the armor around your heart.
Jason nuzzles at the top of your head, and starts to press kisses down to your ear, "I am here. With you. That's not going to change." He pulls the blankets higher over your body as you melt against him, all your worries, wrongs, and doubts, quiet and locked away in the back of your mind.
His warmth, his touch, the steady rocking of the ship, and promises of new sights to see on calmer waters is enough to let you succumb to your exhaustion.
But even as you drift off, you can't quite escape from the memory of the siren's song in your ears. A family, they'd sung, an idea you'd never really thought of before, at least not past Jason. But they had sung it to you, pulled it, supposedly, from the deepest parts of your heart.
It nags at you, from the corner of your mind as sleep wins out, even with the steady sounds of Jason's breathing and his fingers soothing over your skin. And it almost feels like, maybe, they knew something you didn't.

Non-Durge Strike would've been a far worse person than he is as Durge, fun fact
Non-Bhaalspawn Strike is a child of a drow and a cambien who was found by his adoptive mothers back in their pirate days, before they settled down. He's a magical prodigy that grows up in a loving home that actively encourages him in pursuing the study of magic. He's an extremely talented sorcerer and he knows it, and without Bhaal who would keep his ego in check by being an abusive father, Strike becomes just kind of the worst?
No Bhaal means that doing good (non-murder) things isn't taboo or a novelty anymore, so they're boring now. He has no god to serve so there is noone he would feel inferior to, which means that all his ambition now goes unchecked and he ends up wanting to be a god himself. He's a sociopath in any au, here that just means less murder and more selfishness. He's still charming and manipulative but now lacks the background of a sheltered, abused child, so boy does it get worse.
In game time: There is no memory loss and no physical trauma, meaning that Strike doesn't have to rely on his companions for survival and support for his crippling mental health; he's sane, perfectly self aware and in perfect control of himself. Because of that he just manipulates mansplains manwhores his way to be in charge of the team and never establishes a strong bond with anyone there. Him and Gale know eachother from when they were studying in Waterdeep and Strike always looked down on Gale for needing to rely on Mystra for his spells. He would very much encourage Gale to explode himself and in the end succeed.
He gets Astarion to ascend. Why? Cause he wants to see how the ritual works, nothing else. Demonic magic would be really interesting to him. He'd then break up with Astarion and laugh in his face at the idea of becoming bonded to him for life - they leave off on bitter terms. They do save Aylin but only because Strike wants to see a demigod in action; later he helps her kill Lorroakan but also steals the wand that could seal Aylin forever, just in case if he ever needs a convenient immortality on hand.
When he meets Gortash they vibe so hard with eachother that Karlach punches Strike in the face for being such an awful dick about it, but he manipulates his way out of the situation. He does like Gortash but at the same time pities him because he thinks it's pathetic to serve a god like that.
In the end, he gets the crown of Karsus for himself and manages to override it back into its true purpose, and the gang would have to fight him to try and stop him. Upon their failure, he'd become the next Karsus.
So yeah, all in all? Bhaal surprisingly helps him be a way better person lmao

"breathe baby," is the first thing whispered into your ear when he finally finds you. he had been looking all over for you after his exams, wanting to celebrate them being finally over. but he couldn't find you, or really any trace of you in his or your dorm.
when he begins his search, he's extremely worried of what could've happened to youâ by the time he finds you he's one minute away from filing a missing person report (he tells you later, it's never clear if he's was fully serious.)
his arms are wrapped around you the moment he spots you, bringing you in close as he whispers against your neck. "shh," he mumbles, petting the top of your head gently to make sure he doesn't mess with your hair. "im here sweetheart."
your cries and hiccups don't deter him at all, he only keeps reassuring you and rubbing your back as you begin to cling to him. your arms wrapped around his neck as he hoists you into his lap, cradling you like a babyâ he holds you until you begin to calm down.
he wipes the tears from your glistening eyes, making sure to use his sleeve to get your nose so you don't ruin your hoodie (it's actually his, but he would never make a big deal out of itâ its cuter on you anyways.) he presses a soft kiss to either hand, trailing up your wrists to your arms until he reaches your face.
he leaves a disgustingly wet one on your cheek that makes you sniffle and try not to laugh, he smiles against you like he's sick with love. "what happened baby, talk to me?"

What's the new au???
It's another modern/non-demigod au, with Tattoo Artist! Annabeth, who is also a single mom working hard to coparent her five year-old. The story starts when she meets her friend/mentor's cousin, who's only just moved back the New York City after getting Ph.D. out in California.
Here's a bit of the draft. Not sure if this will ever actually be something I finish though.
~
There were already a few people lined up on the sidewalk when Annabeth stepped through the door. Sundays were walk-in days at Electric Tattoo, but it was first come, first serve. She still had half an hour before she needed to serve anyone though.Â
Electric was a basic street shop that boasted artists who could probably work somewhere more impressive, but didnât have the energy to deal with the Instagram of it all. Annabeth herself had a decent following, and her books were usually full, but she still appreciated the spontaneity of a walk-in. And Sundayâs were good money. Sophia spent the day with her father, and Annabeth spent the day sticking needles in strangers.Â
Sheâd built a pretty robust portfolio in the last few years; she could do just about anything. Geographic tattoos and linework were her favorite though; it was the closest she got to using the architecture degree she finished mostly out of spite in the end. But sheâd always like the drafting process, even if she couldn't stand her internships or the industry in the end.Â
At least, as a tattoo artist, she got to stab the shitty men she dealt with with needles.Â
âI booked your six oâclock spot already,â Thalia said to her before anything else.Â
âGood morning,â Annabeth said back. âWho is it?âÂ
âMy cousin. Iâd do it, but you know how I feel about doing family,â Thalia said. Annabeth didnât know why she phrased it like that, but she wasnât in the mood to tease her about it. âIâve told you about him, I think? Percy? Lived out in Berkeley?âÂ
Annabeth shrugged. âProbably, but I donât remember,â she said as she walked over to their shitty coffee maker -- the machine and the coffee it produced were sub-par, but it would do.Â
âYouâll like him,â Thalia promised.Â
âLast time you set me up with someone you thought Iâd really like, I didnât fall in love, and I got pregnant,â Annabeth reminded her.Â
âI told you to abort the little crotch goblin,â Thalia teased.Â
Annabeth rolled her eyes. âThat crotch goblin is your goddaughter.âÂ
âAnd I love her very much,â Thalia promised.Â
Thalia had been her mentor through her tattoo apprenticeship, and then, a fast friend. And for all of her jokes, she was a reliable aunt and baby sitter for Annabethâs now-five year-old.Â
Really, Annabeth needed the distraction of a Sunday walk-in day. Sophia spent Saturdays with her father, slept at his house, and didnât get dropped off to her again until six thirty Sunday night. It wasnât even a full forty-eight hours, but Annabeth spent just about every Saturday night missing her, whether she stayed home or went out.Â
She wiped down her station, got her ink, tools, and stencils ready. And then she checked her phone again. Nothing from Luke. Not that she was worried. He was a good and responsible father. But she appreciated a photo here and there, an update.Â
Annabeth decided to just text him instead: âI have a 6pm, bring her to electricâÂ
Luke just thumbs up reacted.Â
Things between them had never been particularly romantic. A few okay dates, and some decent sex had really been the extent of it. Until Sophia made herself known to Annabeth a few weeks later.Â
Annabeth knew she didnât exactly look like a mom, with arms and legs covered in tattoos, a piercing in her eyebrow, and an undercut (really, her hair was simply too thick to deal with in its entirety), but she had always wanted a baby. And this one was hers. She didnât expect Luke to want to coparent or be around at all. He made things easier -- financially especially -- but âŠÂ
Well, there wasnât really a but. That was what annoyed her so deeply. They could be the perfect family. Mom and Dad just didnât love each other. Luke had proposed to her when she told him. But Annabeth had just laughed and turned him down. It was more stable for Sophia this way. The less time they spent together, the less likely they were to hate each other in the end.Â
But Annabeth still looked forward to six thirty.Â
~Â
Thankfully, no one asked her to tattoo any genitals today. Closest she got was some side boob -- laurel wreaths, one on each tit. They came out pretty nice. She might have stolen the idea for herself if her tits still sat up like her clientâs did. Breastfeeding had left her flatter than she was used to. But at least she could usually go braless these days.Â
Annabeth cleared off her bench, disinfecting the surfaces and the equipment as Thaliaâs voice got louder and closer to her.Â
âI can have Hazel re-pierce your ear, if you want,â Thalia offered, tugging on some manâs ear.Â
âOw,â he complained. Annabeth stood still and looked at him. He must have been the cousin. Percy, she remembered. He looked more like Thalia than her brother did -- dark hair, strong jaw, just a few inches taller than her, and devastating green eyes.Â
âThis is Annabeth,â Thalia said, gesturing towards her. Annabeth gave a small wave. âSheâll be ruining your arm today.âÂ
Annabeth laughed, insulted. âYou taught me. If you think my work is that bad, itâs your fault.âÂ
âItâs not about your work,â Thalia promised. âThis idiot,â she pointed to the man, âlost a bet and now gets whatever dumb tattoo my brother picks out.âÂ
âIâm hoping heâs kind to me,â Percy said.Â
Annabeth forced a smile and looked at Thalia. âI really donât want to give you a tattoo you donât want,â she said.Â
âBets a bet,â Thalia said.Â
âItâs really no worries,â Percy said.Â
âIs it your first tattoo?â Annabeth asked.Â
âNope,â he promised her. Then he rolled up his tee shirt sleeve to reveal his shoulder. It was covered in dark linework of waves, with a ship on the sea. The lines were incredibly clean, but for a moment, Annabeth panicked. It was shaded in with reds and purples that for a moment made her think it was painfully infected.Â
It didnât take long for her to realize it wasnât infected at all. It was a very well-healed image of --
âThe wine dark sea?â She guessed.Â
âYeah!â Percy said. âThalia told me you were smart.âÂ
âShe went to Harvard,â Thalia offered for her.Â
âSmart enough not to bet on a tattoo,â Annabeth said to him. Well, anymore.Â
Thalia walked back to her station, leaving Annabeth and Percy relatively alone. Frank had a man on his bench next to her, but they werenât talking. Â
âItâs really okay,â Percy promised her. âI knew I was going to lose.âÂ
âWhat was the bet?â She asked, inviting Percy to sit on the bench while they waited for Jason to make up his mind.Â
âIâm working on my first book, he just finished his dissertation. Race to the finish. He was way ahead of me, though, just needed a final push to finish before his funding ran out. So, I figured I could sacrifice my forearm to keep him on track,â Percy explained.Â
Annabeth asked a few more questions and Percy offered answers. He and his cousin were both classicists, he was Greek, Jason was Roman. Jason was at NYU, Percy had been out at UCLA, but then did a postdoc at UC Berkeley. But heâd finally gotten a job at Hunter College. Heâd only just moved last week.Â
âAre you from California?â Annabeth asked. Jason had finally made up his mind, theyâd gotten the paperwork signed, and now Annabeth was applying the stencil. SPQR. Easy enough. Â
âNo, no, from New York, although,â he pointed to the New York Yankees logo sheâd tattooed on herself just above the knee, âa Mets fan.âÂ
âI really donât have strong allegiances. I just did this to piss off my Bostonian family more,â Annabeth said. Â
âRebellious,â Percy teased. âThalia told me youâre from San Francisco?âÂ
Annabeth nodded. âWell, sort of. The family is from Boston, but my dad is also a professor. I grew up near West Point, then we moved to Berkeley when I was thirteen.â She pulled the stencil paper away. It looked straight. âThere, check out if you like the placement.âÂ
Percy examined it in the mirror, twisting his arm in different positions to make sure he liked it.Â
âYeah, looks great!â He said, laying back down. âSo, wait, your dad teaches at Berkeley?âÂ
Annabeth nodded. âHistory department. Twentieth century military stuff, though, you probably wouldnât have --âÂ
âIs your dad Fred Chase?âÂ
Annabeth pressed her lips together to hold back a sigh before saying, âthe one and only.âÂ
âHeâs a âŠâ Percy paused, studying her face to see what he should say about him, âvery boring man,â Percy said. Annabeth laughed.Â
âYeah, yeah, all research, no fun,â Annabeth confirmed.Â
Percy was looking at her in a new way, like he was trying to piece something together. âYouâre his only daughter?âÂ
âYep,â Annabeth confirmed. His eyes glanced at her chest, and Annabeth knew he figured it out. Her daughterâs name, the first three letters at least, poked through the V neck of her black tee shirt. âHeâs mentioned me?â She asked.Â
âOh yeah. I mean, I havenât talked to him a lot, but I mentioned I was from New York. He said he had a daughter and grandkid in the city.âÂ
Annabeth nodded. âSophia.âÂ
âWhere is Sophia today?â Percy asked.Â
âWith her father,â Annabeth said, trying to communicate through tone that Sophiaâs father was not someone Annabeth was romantically attached to. âHeâll bring her around later,â and then for good measure, âhe gets her on weekends.âÂ
Percy nodded, and then got comfortable, offering her his arm. âHe gets her all weekend? Nights too?âÂ
Annabeth turned on the tattoo gun and picked up some ink. âYeah, why?âÂ
âJust ⊠if youâre single --â the needle made contact and shut him up.Â
âYouâll still need to pay for the tattoo even if you ask me out,â she said with a teasing smile.Â
Percy relaxed a bit as he got used to the sensation. Annabeth had it on good authority that she was a very gentle tattooer, actually. Men were just babies.Â
âYeah, I assumed,â Percy assured her. âDo you date? I mean, are you single?âÂ
âAm single, and I guess I date.â Truth be told, she didnât date often. But she wasnât opposed. Her arrangement with Luke would easily allow for a date here and there, she just ⊠hadnât dated much. Even before Sophia. Thirty in one month, she wasnât exactly itching to join dating apps.Â
âCool,â Percy said as she finished the first pass on the S. âAre you free next weekend?âÂ
Annabeth smiled. âLet me finish this tattoo and then you can decide if you ever want to see me again,â she said.Â
~Â
As always, her linework was clean, and the tattoo sat straight on his forearm.Â
âHow much?â Percy asked, after it was sanitized and wrapped.Â
âOne hundred,â Annabeth said. It should have been closer to $120, but sheâd give him a friends and family discount. Percy handed her his card.Â
Annabeth turned to the register.Â
âSo your daughter --â Percy started. Annabeth didnât look up from what she was doing, worried about what he might say or what her face might reveal. âSheâs what? Five?âÂ
âYeah, she turned five in April.âÂ
âBlonde?âÂ
âSo, so blonde,â Annabeth said with a faint smile.Â
âBig fan of Beauty and the Beast?âÂ
Annabeth looked at him. âDid my dad talk about her that much or are you psychic?â She asked.Â
Percy just pointed to the window. Six thirty.Â
Luke was holding their daughter as Sophia waved her arms around, trying to get Annabethâs attention. She was in a new Belle dress up dress. Annabeth had to appreciate that Luke doted on their daughter, but it was hard not to resent him. He got to be the fun gift-giving weekend parent, while Annabeth was stuck with the bath time, nap time, daycare, chores parent. Sophia was starting Kindergarten in the fall. Soon Annabeth would be the homework parent too.Â
But her building resentments fled her for a moment. She put Percyâs card down and walked quickly towards the front door. Thalia had locked it at six after the last clients had come in for the day.Â
âHello beautiful,â Annabeth said as Luke handed Sophia over. She was starting to get too big to be picked up, but Annabeth was still doing her best. âIâm just finishing up,â she said to both of them, letting them inside.Â
Percy and Luke seemed to recognize each other, and offered some warm words.Â
âItâs been a while,â Percy said, glancing at Sophia, then back at Luke.Â
âWhat? They donât have Facebook out in California?â Luke asked him, as if to say this wasnât a secret.Â
âYou know I donât bother with all that,â Percy said. But Annabeth thought he looked a bit guilty and apologetic for missing ⊠all of this.Â
âCan I see your tattoo?â Sophia said, pulling on Percyâs shorts leg. Percy squatted down to her height and held out his arm. Sophia stared at it for a second before announcing: âThatâs not a word!âÂ
Percy just laughed as Annabeth told her daughter to be polite, before adding, âreally good reading, though.â Sophia beamed.Â
âItâs Latin,â Percy explained, offering her the meaning in Latin then English. Sophia seemed genuinely inspired by the new information, and Annabeth wondered if sheâd, despite it all, birthed a tiny scholar.Â
When he finished his explanation, though, there was a long awkward silence between the three adults as Sophia ran off to find Hazel.Â
Percy started to excuse himself, realizing that he was the odd man out now. He signed his name on the receipt, leaving Annabeth a more than generous tip. She watched him try to shield the receipt from Luke as he wrote his phone number for her. She hoped this wasnât some bro code nonsense. Legally, Luke had partial custody of their daughter; he did not have authority over her Saturday nights.Â
âSee you next Saturday?â Annabeth asked as Percy started to leave.Â
He looked sheepishly at her, but his smile betrayed him. âYeah, let me know what works?â He said before leaving her alone with Luke.Â
âYouâre going out with him?â Luke asked as he handed over Sophiaâs bag.Â
âMaybe,â Annabeth said, tucking the receipt into her pocket.Â
âI mean, Iâm fine with it. It just ⊠heâs a college professor,â Luke said.Â
âWhat, you think Iâm not smart enough for a college professor?âÂ
âNo, I think your dad is a college professor,â Luke said.Â
âDonât be an asshole,â she warned. âHow was she this weekend?â
âGreat,â Luke said. âShe read a bunch of books to me, we watched Beauty and the Beast twice, and we went to the park. No accidents, no injuries, no melt downs.âÂ
That was her girl. She was a bit injury-prone, as she inherited some of Annabethâs impulsive fearlessness, but otherwise she was a smart, well-behaved girl. She was more than Annabeth thought she deserved.Â
âGreat, and the dress?â Annabeth asked.Â
âCouldnât help it. It was too cute,â Luke said. âIt makes her happy.âÂ
âIâm not mad about it,â Annabeth promised. âThank you. Itâs sweet. Iâll be in touch about next week. Her Pre-K graduation is on Thursday, donât forget,â Annabeth said.Â
âDonât worry, we also practiced singing âGod Bless America,ââ Luke said. The Pre-K kids were all singing that during the ceremony.Â
âWell, I still need to clean up here. Feel free to hang out, or take off, whatever,â Annabeth said.Â
Luke said hi to Thalia, goodbye to Sophia, and goodbye to Annabeth and was gone within a few minutes. âI need to talk to you about something this week,â Luke said. âAn idea I had. A surprise for Sophie.âÂ
Annabeth nodded. âAlright, call me whenever,â she said, waving him off.Â
âTell Percy I said hello,â were his last words to her before leaving the shop.Â
Annabeth found Sophia in the back with Hazel, who was marking where Sophia would get her ears pierced with a marker. Annabeth told her she had to be seven to get her ears pierced, but she still insisted on getting the little purple dots on her ears every time she saw Hazel.Â
âReady to go, nugget?â Annabeth asked. Sophia nodded and got Hazelâs help getting out of the big chair. âSay thank you,â Annabeth reminded her.Â
~
Bay Ridge was decently close to the shop, and not too far from Park Slope where Luke lived, but it was still a long way on the R train. Sophia spent the entire ride asking Annabeth a series of ear-piercing related questions that Annabeth answered honestly, logically, and with as little audible annoyance as she could manage.Â
But three stops from home, Annabeth suggested they play the quiet game. Her daughter was as competitive as she was smart, and stayed quiet the rest of the ride.Â
Annabethâs first words were: âCome on,â when the subway pulled into their stop, and Sophiaâs first words were a boastful: âHa! I win!âÂ
âPrincesses donât brag,â Annabeth said, taking her hand. That might have been a lie. She had no idea what princesses did or didnât do.Â
When they finally got back home, Annabeth popped some chicken nuggets in the airfryer, got some steam-in-bag veggies out of the freezer, and wrestled a tiny human out of her new princess dress.Â
âCome on, you donât want to get food on it,â Annabeth said as Sophia pouted.Â
After many chicken nuggets, and a reluctant forkful of vegetables came the bath. Then the bedtime story. Then tucking her in. And kissing her goodnight.Â
âLove you to the moon and back, sweetie,â Annabeth told her.Â
âCan I wear my Belle dress to school tomorrow?â Sophia asked.Â
âNo, but I promise you can put it on as soon as you get home, okay?â Annabeth offered.Â
âOkay.âÂ
âGood night,â Annabeth said.Â
âNight night,â Sophia offered back.Â
Annabeth shut her door. It was only nine. A bit late for her bedtime, but Sophia wanted a few extra chapters of The Hobbit, and Annabeth did love that book.Â
Annabeth unpacked her weekend bag. Sophiaâs favorite toys had already come out of it, and her favorite blanket. All that was left were the dirty clothes. One outfit was shoved in a plastic bag, covered in brown goo. Annabeth groaned.Â
âFor fucks sake, Luke --â Heâd told her no accidents. Sophia had never even had a poopy accident before. She barely had accidents at all. How long had he ignored her for her to --Â Â
Mud, it was mud, she realized when she opened the bag. Sophia had somehow gotten covered in mud. She took a deep breath and let her shoulders relax.Â
Annabeth took out her phone and texted him anyway.Â
AnnabethÂ
You could have told me about the muddy clothesÂ
Luke
Shit, sorry, I forgot.Â
Happened this morning.Â
She jumped off the swings and landed in a puddleÂ
I keep telling her not to do that
She typed out: no reason to leave it for me to clean but deleted it, in no mood to start a fight.Â
Annabeth
I know, I keep telling her too.Â
Maybe we take swings away from her until she stops next time
Luke
I donât want to be the bad guyÂ
Annabeth
You think I do? Iâm proposing a united effort here. I just need to know youâll back me up.Â
LukeÂ
Alright, I will.Â
She just went to the bathroom and dropped the dirty clothes in the shower and started to rinse them out. Her apartment had a washer and dryer, one of two blessings in her life (Sophia, of course, the first one), but she didnât need it getting covered in Brooklyn mud. She let that wash down the drain.Â
With the clothes rinsed she started the wash, stripping off her own clothes from the day to throw in with them.Â
Her hand slipped into her pockets, checking to make sure she didnât wash another pair of headphones. She found Percy's receipt. She smiled. She typed the phone number into her contacts, before putting the receipt in her bag. The shop would actually need that to charge him and make sure she got her tip.Â
Annabeth
Hey, itâs Annabeth
Heâd texted back by the time she got out of the shower.Â
Percy
Hey!Â
Annabeth
Iâll be honest, I was hoping for a better pick up lineÂ
Percy
Shit, okay hold on let me think of oneÂ
How about: you are an SPQ-T? Â
AnnabethÂ
Itâll doÂ
They didnât talk much. She asked about his tattoo; he confirmed their dinner plans. He asked about Sophia, if she had a good weekend, that sort of thing.Â
Percy
Sheâs adorable. Looks just like you
Except blankÂ
Annabeth laughed.Â
Annabeth
Sheâs constantly in trouble at school for drawing on her arms and her friendsâ arms.Â
Percy
Sheâll be a great artist one day Iâm sureÂ
Annabeth
Her dream career is artist princess mommy
Thatâs exactly what sheâll tell you if you ask
Percy
Not a bad collection of jobsÂ
Annabeth finally asked the question she did need an answer for before anything else went forward.Â
AnnabethÂ
Do you like kids?Â
Percy
I love kidsÂ
Canât wait for my own honestlyÂ
Annabeth
So youâre alright with me having a kid?Â
Percy
Yeah for sure
Itâs not like sheâs going anywhere anyway. Wouldnât have asked you out if it wasnât okay.Â
AnnabethÂ
Were you and Luke close growing up?Â
Percy
Eh, he was always Thaliaâs friend. He mostly tried to pressure me into stealing candy and shit.Â
Us going out wouldnât be weird to me
Is it weird for him?
Annabeth
He hasnât really said anything about itÂ
Percy
Is it weird for you?
Annabeth
No
Percy
Good, thatâs all that matters to me đ

âłÂ return to masterlist
a chill wind permeated throughout camp as the various demigods that braved the outdoors found ways to keep themselves warm and moving. however most, those [reader] deemed sensible or sane - as sane as anyone at this camp could be, were tucked away inside. [reader] herself was in her cabin watching different video essays from youtube that piqued her interest. it was growing close to the end of lunch time and clovis was still gone, [reader] however had expressed that she wasnât hungry and although clovis had attempted to convince her to join him, he knew it would be a waste of time trying to convince his stubborn sister.
[reader] had barely noticed the passing of time, her noise-cancelling headphones allowing her to block out everything around her and immerse herself in the video she was watching. that was why she never noticed the knocking that came from the door of cabin 15. it may have only just begun or it may have been going on for a minute.
percy felt like cursing his innate need to be polite for his girlfriend. it was cold and windy, and heâd forgotten a jacket when he left his own cabin earlier. after a minute or so of intermittently knocking on the door, percy decided he was going to have just open the door himself. he opened the door slowly, calling out [reader]âs name as he entered. it didnât take him long to see why his knocks had gone unanswered from the headphones, to [reader]âs hunched posture over her laptop.
cautiously, percy stepped round to be in front of [reader], not wanting to startle her from behind. the movement in her peripherals caused [reader] to look away from her laptop, the sudden, to her, presence of her boyfriend causing her to jump slightly, blinking owlishly at something that wasnât a pixelated screen after hours of being on youtube. âw-what are you doing here?â her voice was hoarse after not really speaking since sheâd woken up, stumbling as she threaded the words together.
âyou missed lunch,â percy said matter-of-factly. âso I brought you something.â percy pulled out a small tupperware container containing a sandwich and a bunch of grapes. upon seeing the food, [reader] began to feel hunger grabbing at her. she took the container from percy with a quiet mutter of thanks, taking small bites of the sandwich.
âhow are you doing?â percy asked, only receiving shrugged shoulders as a response.
âI dunno, alright I guess. been watching video essays.â [reader] gestured to laptop screen which showed a youtube playlist of video essays on a multitude of different topics; the video that had been paused upon percyâs surprise appearance was titled âThe Internet is Turning its Back on True Crimeâ by Shanspeare.
âtrue crime?â percy raised an eyebrow.
âitâs interesting.â [reader] countered.
percy just shook his head with a sigh. heâd experienced [reader]âs stubbornness the hard way before and knew how fruitless it was to try and further the dispute. instead he reached into the big front pocket of his slightly baggy hoodie. âgot something else for you too.â he eased a hand through his curls.
that caught [reader]âs interest. âwhat else could percy have?â
slowly he pulled out a little plastic bag, the âCalico Crittersâ logo printed at the top and a group of the baby characters gathered at the bottom. the top was already slightly ripped open, and [reader] eyed it suspiciously. percy noticed the look and explained: âyeah, sorry about that. I wanted to get you a specific one so I had to check what was in there. took a couple of tries to get the right one.â (actually percy bought roughly $30 worth of the blind bags and definitely got some looks from the cashier and his mom, but if it ended up making [reader] happy percy was willing to spend his entire allowance.)
[reader] took the bag from percyâs hands, opening the gap at the top slightly wider and tipping the critter out into her awaiting palm. from the bag, a small black cat baby slid out. it fell face first into [reader]âs hand and she was quick to toss the now empty bag onto the bed beside her before gently picking up the tiny baby figure. soft black fur was wrapped up in a pastel yellow smock, the inside of its ears were pink under the black fuzz. at this point [reader] couldnât hide her smile as she carefully stroked the baby's cheek with the back of her finger.
all percy could do was look on admiringly; at how [reader]âs eyes shone as she inspected the tiny animal, at how sweet her rare smile was, at how she cradled the baby in her hands. percy was getting lost in thoughts as he sat on the floor, lovingly gazing up at his girlfriend. it was [reader] that abruptly broke the silence.
âthis means weâre parents now.â
now it was percyâs turn to look confused, until [reader] continued; âthis is our baby.â she held the little black cat out to him, and now understanding her words, percy smiled along with his girlfriend.
âyeah. but if this is our baby that means we need to name it, any ideas?â [reader] took a moment to think before announcing decidedly: âstar.â
âstar?â percy parroted back, testing out the name.
âyeah, sheâs got black fur like the void of space, and yellow is associated with the colour of stars.â [reader] explained.
âstar it is then.â percy agreed.
standing up, percy stretched his limbs, sighing in satisfaction when he heard several cracks of his joints. choosing to ignore the muttered âewâ that came from his girlfriend at the noises, he planted a quick kiss to her head and moved over to the cabin window just after the end of her bed. pulling back the thin cream curtains, percy craned his neck to look up at the sky above the camp. the dark skies from earlier in the day seemed to have mostly cleared and the winds had slowed down. âdo you want to go outside for a walk?â percy asked, turning back to face [reader], stifling a snort of laughter at her disapproving expression. âcâmon.â percy came back over to her, taking the hand that didnât hold star in his own, pulling her off the bed and leading her to the window. âthe weather has cleared a bit and we could use it as an opportunity to show star around camp.â
âokay.â [reader] agreed, still not totally sold on the idea but enjoying the thought of spending more time with percy and their new child. [reader] was still in her pyjama trousers and camp top, so she handed star over to percy and went on the hunt for a jacket. she found an oversized jumper in the pile of clothes at the end of her bed and slung it on. percy held an arm out for [reader] and with a giggle she took hold of his forearm, resting her arm in the crook of his elbow.
stepping out of the cabin into the brisk afternoon air, the pair started off on their slow stroll, pointing out the different landmarks of camp to star as the passed each one. as they continued to walk, the skies continued to clear up, the weather warming up even as the wind continued to nip at their cheeks. the two walked aimlessly around for about an hour before they headed back to cabin 15. percy sat down on the bed first before pulling [reader] to sit with him. [reader] pulled her laptop into her lap like before and disconnected her headphones from it, playing the video so they could finish watching it together. having missed the beginning of the video, percy whispered multiple questions in her ear about what was going on, [reader] whispering answers back as if they were at a cinema and didnât want to disturb the people around them, even if the only other one with them was star.
in percyâs warm embrace, it didnât take long until [reader] began to feel tired, slumping in his arms and resting her head on his shoulder. the sight of his girlfriend being able to fall asleep so easily in his embrace made his heart swell and a blush creep onto his cheeks. pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of her head, percy moved carefully to close [reader]âs laptop and move it to the end of the bed, then carefully placing star onto [reader]âs bedside table before shifting to sit more comfortably against the headboard of her bed, making sure that [reader] was still laying comfortably on his chest.

Hermes, rushing into the classroom like an over excited puppy that can fly, surprising everyone: Hey, did you get my letter :D it's really important, I gotta take you now
Kaminari: You mean the one you left on my desk while I was out of the classroom less than three minutes ago? Yes, I read it and for the last time, I have SCHOOL
Hermes: That lame thing? Just tell them it's important or whatever!
Kaminari: I can't just ditch school anytime you wanna start a fight or get icecream or whatever!
Hermes: No, it's fine! I'll just talk to your school's king-
Kaminari: Principal.
Hermes: Principal, and tell him you have to leave!
Kaminari: How about you just wait outside the building and I can tell you why this is a horrible idea then, kay?
Hermes: No time! I'm a busy guy, you know that, Denks!
Kaminari: THEN DO YOU'RE OTHER JOBS FIRST!
Hermes: Come on! It's a matter of life or death!
Kamimari: Maybe for me! I have a feeling you're not in any danger and won't be in the near future.
Hermes: Exactly! You could die! All the more reason to come!
Kaminari: No! No, it isn't! The fact that going with you means I might die is absolutely not a good argument!
Hermes: Oh, please, like you don't have buddies down there anyway. Come on, we gotta goooo!! I don't want to be in this boring room any longer!
Kaminari: It is truly bone-chilling that I'M the responsible one around you.
Hermes: I know, right? I hate it, I like you more when you're reckless.
Kaminari: Of course you do, now GO AWAY! Go wait in the dorm's lounge or something. Just don't get me in trouble.
Hermes: Oh, we both know I'm not capable of that.
Aizawa: What the fuck is going on here? And you, get OUT of my classroom!
Hermes: Jeez, touchy much? Fine, I'll wait outside, and you have to deal with this guy every day?
Aizawa and Kaminari: GO!
Hermes: Okay, fine! Geez, way to make a guy feel welcome!

How do you think Diomedes would react to Odypenath becoming a thing, especially considering he also becomes immortal on some versions
oh he is SO fucking confused lmao
literally no one was expecting it, not even them. he was the closest to all three of them and the first thing he actively shouts when he finds out is "WHAT THE FUCK"
but in the to be loved is to lose series au tho where he's like. immortal mentor to demigods and such who goes and hangs out in hades as his power wanes; he actually does know what odysseus is going to try and pull, it's just that they're all shocked when he succeeds, including the man himself and also Athena. he's leading the charge up there to ask Athena if she's running a temperature.
sometimes he'll have some odd paranoia of them asking to join their polycule. he is NOT joining their relationship thank you.
(after the whole thing w aphrodite, hes not really allowed to Love per se; but in general he wasnt keen on anything of the sort before, just going through the motions detachedly. he cares, they care, thats enough. he does not need their madness.)
another hilarious idea ive had is him coming to ithaka and finding odysseus and athena sharing penelope because athena was a part of both of them so long- helping penelope rule, helping odysseus get home- that somewhere on the way she fell for the familiar shape of penelope, and odysseus cannot blame her. penelope who begs dio to fucking help her cause she is going MAD- odyath only have gotten fonder of each other and no one knows how to break to them that its ok to express an emotion about each other. cue the FUNNIEST wackiest matchmaking plotting youve ever seen.
(which doubles as a good excuse to keep dio around. penelope adores him, and the rest of the family dotes on him, so perhaps she will sabotage their own plots sometimes so he can stick around longer.)

demi god LU time
the law of hyperfixations says you must combine interests at every given chance
adding a cut here as to not clog feeds!! its a real long post
i wanna hear thoughts too! so dont be afraid to comment. these are my personal opinions and i wanna hear if anyone agrees or disagrees :D (apologies for all the tags btw)
edit to add the stupid doodle
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d25e242f4f1fbcc2dd79247691ab1e72/16028fecb00d712d-61/s540x810/222298850bf9e8137fb9e87a093649c3fde9b967.jpg)
the gods all have favorites, and ironically none of them are their own kids (save for hades: he loves his kid. doesn't make him a good parent, but you know?)
In a more Zelda timeline abiding setting; Originally they weren't all at camp halfblood at the same time, but time shenanigans decided they were to be brought together
Imagine Chironâs surprise when 7 of his dead campers waltz into camp (this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter camp. Dionysus is completely unfazed, knowing the bs time shit the gods are dealing with atm)
By the time they enter camp in Wildâs Hyrule for the second time he kinda understands (Wind and Sky didnt have a Camp Halfblood, for the record, for obvious reasons)
Alternatively, its some form of modern au where theyâre just from different parts of Hyrule (skyloft, downfall, ordonia, windfall peninsula, hyrule town (different from castle town), the list goes on) which would make a lot more sense for this kinda au (the world wouldâve just had a LOT of calamities within the span of a few years, some of the heroes knowing about camp and others not so much)
(i think Legend, Wars, Time, Wind (post WW) and Four wouldâve known about Camp Halfblood while the others were just kinda on their own until after their quests) meaning over half of them didnât have prophecies and just went to deal with the issue themselves, possibly meaning on their journey they learned of camp
Ok well, all of them but Wars, who grew up at Camp Halfblood
All Zeldaâs are children of Athena, save for Skyward Sword Zelda since she's the reincarnation of Hylia (yeah, im keeping the original Zelda goddesses! What of it?)
At some point fairly early on, a Zelda only had a son, who got together with Athena at some point and boom
Sky: child of ZeusÂ
self explanatoryÂ
God of the skies? his name is literally Sky
not to mention how fucking powerful he is?
he was the "first" Link; Zeus was technically the first God, it makes sense (this is such a stupid reason)
The skies are his home, Zeus finding someone on Skyloft and âfalling in loveâ with their love of the sky too results in this bad boy right here
The demise fight? Only a zeus kid could harbor lightning like that
A camp counselor in the modern setting (ik typically once youâre 18, youâre no longer a camper really, but shhhh)
Wind: child of PoseidonÂ
Don't roll your eyes, i've got a reason!!
the 4 wind gods throw a fit anytime he's sent on a quest (they all love him even if they won't admit it)
A world purely ocean and islands? Poseidon would have a fuckin ball
The Great Sea needed a hero, Wind was brought about more for necessity than out of the want to have a child (this leaves a hard disconnect between wind and the gods, knowing his dad didnât really have him out of love for his mom but because the world needed to be saved)
The irony of Poseidon being the patron of pegasi and horses and Wind not knowing what a horse is will never not be a funny thought
Has more control over the wind than he does the sea (for now)Â
he, like Legend, pointedly ignores that he's a demi-god, especially since he comes after the Hero of Time (kinda hard to live up to that, even outside of a demi-god au)
The ocean and winds are his mood ring: you upset him the wind gods are after you
In a modern setting, the same reason applies kinda; a quest under the sea would be virtually impossible for anyone but a child of Poseidon, and hell knows a cyclopes isnt gonna be sent (gotta love those prophecies)Â
OR!! OR AND HEAR ME OUT
Wind isnt a demigod
The wind gods still adore him, but he doesn't have the heroâs spirit and i think thatâd kinda translate to not being a demigod, yet still being the one who was destined to go on the quest because there just weren't any demigods to do it
Still not set on which id go with
Legend: child of HadesÂ
Ah yes, child of the big three goes on so many quests trope. Love to see it
he's Apollo's favorite favorite (Warriors is jealous as hell. Thats his dad! Wdym he likes Legend more????)Â
Pointedly ignores the fact he's a demigod (at least, he definitely tries to)
Blessed by (and beefing with) so many gods from his quests
probably one of the few heroes who's spoken to their godly parent (trust me, it was out of obligation rather than free will)
Prefers helping out the more minor, underappreciated, and not as needy or bitchy gods (like Hestia, for example)
curses the Olympians constantly, they've learned to ignore him, hes their best questing kid
Sort of a general camp counselor since Hades doesn't really have kids (its technically his last year but hes been there the longest out of everyone)
Managed to block the oracle over iris message
After his trip to the dark world and lorule, the gods go haywire around him, much to his delight (because it means they leave him alone)
Hyrule: child of HecateÂ
adopted by Hermes (much to the dismay of all the Hermes children)
I was on the line between Hecate, Apollo, and Hermes; Hyruleâs affinity for magic and the blood curse resulted in Hecate to winÂ
Very detached from the gods, the help he receives is never outright but more subtle blessings
The gods like to ignore Downfall after Legend died tbh (outside of modern, obviously)
Well, they still ignore Downfall as a city/country.Â
Only learned of camp thanks to Legend, otherwise he wouldnât have had a clue it existed
Wild: child of AthenaÂ
Also adopted by HermesÂ
One of the more chaotic children of Athena
The idea of Athena being his godly parent sourced from his resourcefulness and quick battle (or just general) strategies, along with his pre-calamity self being stoic and more on the critical side
Completely forgot he was a demigod and just let loose, Athena is more than slightly perturbed by him and yet so infatuated
Supervises archery at camp
Warriors: child of ApolloÂ
exemplifies almost 0 traits of his father other than his looks and his affinity for medicine (shit archer, shit musician, can't write poetry)
blessed by Athena during the war since he was struggling so much, she always has a soft spot for the heros since they fight to protect her daughters so hard (aka pity blessing)Â
Actively beefing with AresÂ
Aphrodite likes to keep an eye on him, mostly for entertainment (she woulda eaten the whole Cia debacle UP)
Very notorious in camp considering he was a war captain at the ripe age of 17; once learning of the whole Camp Jupiter has apartments and college for half bloods insisted and led a project at CHB to get something similar built (which is where he, Sky and Twilight stay after turning 18)
Twilight: child of Demeter
His love for ranch animals and caring for his farm lead me to this decision
Also the whole wolf thing, that also counts
Appalled by the fact Wind doesn't know what a horse is considering he's literally the son of Poseidon (jealous the kid can talk to Epona and he can't)
After his journey to the twilight, the gods kinda flicker between Greek and Roman around him so they tend to avoid him like Legend
blessed/cursed by Lupa, hence the wolf thing
Teaches foraging lessons at camp
Four: child of Hephaestus
He's the smithy, I couldnât not say he's a Hephaestus kid
received a lot less help from the gods since he was one of the firstÂ
started advocating that heros receive help from the divine after LU concludes so those after him have a fighting chance (not in the modern setting)
I havent played many of his games, but the kinstones sound like a thing Hephaestus would scatter across the earth as scrap from his creations
Not one of the fire wielders (the only one that can wield fire is Red when split, mostly because of the elemental bs in minish cap)
After drawing the Four Sword, Janus (despite being roman (i like to think the four sword would be a roman artifact, it just feels right)) was suddenly pretty interested and bestowed what wisdom he had for the demi-god
Vulcan, Neptune, Aeolus, and Ceres all came together to forge the elemental stones; the Minish were still the ones to bestow the sword to Hylian people
The gods tend to avoid him too, for the same reason they avoid Twilight and Legend (dark world shenanigans and the Four Sword)
He loves the damn forge at CHB, and was ecstatic seeing the one at Camp Jupiter
He was asked by Chiron if he would be interested in running a forge class for young demigods (be it his siblings or anyone interested) but sadly declinedÂ
Has that air of responsibility to him, being a seasoned quester (and while his 3 doesn't stand to Legendâs 6, its still pretty sizable) hes looked up to by the younger campers
Time: child of Demeter Kronos?Â
The Kokiri were so Demeter core dont even tell me they werent
I guess theyâd kinda act like nymphs and dryads in a sense??
His abilities use to relate to his mother until the events of his first quest: the Ocarina of Time was designed to slowly corrupt the user, being a creation of Kronosâ
However, it wasnât really designed with a demigod in mind soooâŠ
Also self explanatory, the titan of time? Duh⊠huh?? what do you mean he was taken over?? What do you mean he was a child of Demeter?? No he wasnt lol that Neverrr happened
the reason he's the only âchildâ of a titan is mainly because of the fierce deity mask literally making him god-like, meaning he has a lot more power harbored in him sooo (the second he dawned that mask he discarded his old identity for that of a titanâs child, since it was also cursed object)
Donât ask how he came to being Kronosâ kin, no one knows, not even he does (I do) (no, it does not imply a Hylian wandered into Tarturus and got out alive to have the baby)
Avoids interacting with the gods at all costs, he's weary of them as they are of him (even if he saved the world twice)
Extras :)
Ravio: child of PlutoÂ
blessed by Minerva for his natural quick witted nature and clever war strategies, if her own daughter can't succeed she might as well make sure ONE does
can tell if a rupee is real or not by glance alone
Sheerow scares the fuck out of the gods, which in turn means Ravio puts them on edge, a thing very few can achieve
the gods never gave him much thought until the events of albw, to which he suddenly gained like four pair of godly eyes on him
can and will plan one of the worlds most successful heists, refuses to participateÂ
also beefing with Ares (not Mars, Ares)
Based on my personal HC that Ravioâs some sort of artificer (be it replicating magic dungeon items or just flat out creating new ones) i think Vulcan has his eyes on him too
Hilda: child of MinervaÂ
by far the strangest child Minerva ever birthed
exemplifies the traits of a hero rather than a ruler
a little jealous her mother likes Ravio more than her
gods be damned, she's not going to let them neglect her kingdom anymoreÂ
a force of fucking nature that single handedly forced a meeting with the gods and somehow forced them to agree to start restoring Lorule (she got the idea from Legend, who has done this multiple times for multiple different reasons)

So, maybe as a way to wrap around TTG verse into canon, Perse does something that really upsets Zeus, like disapproving of the Swear to not have anymore children and tries to hide any living Hades and Poseidon children (Zeus has already killed any of his that remained from WWII), so Zeus curses her to be reborn as a demigod. And everyone thinks she's going to be reborn as one of Athena's kids (with maybe Annabeth as the fan favorite suspect) only for Poseidon to whoopsie with Sally Jackson and realize "oh, shit, found her. My daughter!" and maybe baby perse remembers, or has chronic dejavu. I just really think its sad if Perse doesn't get Sally as her mom again.
WAIT THIS IS SO GOOD
My poor Percy, whoopsied TWICE. First, she died and went to the past to become Athena and Poseidonâs daughter, THEN she is forced to be born as a demigod again but doesn't remember almost anything (except in weirdly specific moments).
She's followed by owls wherever she goes, she hates Greek mythology media made in Hollywood, and she apparently can read Greek and Latin for no explainable reason. And from time to time she dreams of a grey-eyed women making everyone promise not to get near her daughter.
Athena would be so pissed in this AU. Like, how dare her dad punish her perfect child for DOING HER JOB? So is Poseidon. His poor Perse didn't deserve any punishment when Zeus himself couldn't keep it in his pants.
Athena would loves that Sally named her daughter after her daughter (even though Sallyâs daughter IS also her daughter). Also, Sally loving Perseâs myths would be so cute đđ
Athena, whenever Zeus considers murdering little Perse: đčđčđč

Demigods and Domains
I'm pretty sure this is like pure fanfic stuff but I like the idea of it a lot. The idea that the reason Percy can control things like blood and poison is because while he was in Tartarus his domains evolved and expanded out of the ones his father gave him.
And basically its one of the reasons demigods are so powerful, because they can cross and seep into another God's domain (not easily of course) but they aren't restricted by being a god because they have mortal blood within them.
So that had me thinking a little bit. If Percy (and by extension other characters but it would be a little bit tricker to apply it to) falling into Tartarus where he is pushed to such extremes that the capabilities of his domains shift, then what the hell could he be capable of?
Not to mention possible blessings from the gods and Primordials. (Yeah this is lowkey apart of my Tartarus AU because I think I want to write that one first. Maybe I'll just switch and swap until I finish one lol).
Because I'm not gonna lie I could lowkey see Percy being offered blessings from multiple and I have a few ideas.
But just as a normal demigod what could he domains expand to? Would it be a stretch for fire to become apart of his domain due to the exposure and use of the phlegethon?
I've already thought about the basic things people usually do, pulling magma from the earth, ice manipulation, poison, blood, pulling water from thin air, etc etc.
But I want to do something different because I do want to incorporate "dark!percy" into it somehow.
But not like super op, edgy. dark Percy because realistically he wouldn't be like that. I just see him as more of "falling for you" type if you've ever read that.
So like if you have any ideas PLEASE comment I have none. I really just want to explore his powers out of the basics. (Maybe to can tap into different epithets from Poseidon and from other pantheons because syncretism??
