Alright so I just finished Earthspark and boy fucking howdy do I have opinions, but I’m not talking about those right now because I’m tired and the ending broke me in such a way I no longer care about anything.
What I would like to say though is I think Tanatulas should have been replaced with Shockwave in that on episode he had with Nightshade. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Tanatulas. He was literally so good, I loved his designs and his vibes and the only bad thing about him is that he never said his pronouns back. But really think about it. He didn’t have to be there. Earthspark spends too much time with the Maltos to really develop anyone so the more characters you add the more everything struggles.
Tanatulas showed up for one episode, he’s not even in the finale. Shockwave was there though and vaguely important, but it doesn’t make sense for him to just suddenly be okay with the Maltos. Unless he took Tanatulas role. Then his sudden willingness to help them would have made so much more sense. It also wouldn’t have been a very hard change, just as a whole, because neither Tanatulas or Shockwave are that important.
Just give Nightshade a line about how they should save Shockwave because they trust him and well everyone else acts the same.
Shockwave even fills a similar general role as Tanatulas being a weird scientist who care more about their science than the war. So it really wouldn’t be a hard switch and would make Shockwave make more sense. If you want to go further too Shockwave doesn’t even have a normal vehicle mode so he really could have given similar lines about alt modes to Nightshade.
Obviously Shockwave actual introduction episode would be different or maybe he’d just get replaced entirely but I really don’t think any of those changes would be too hard. Because again, he’s just not important enough for any changes to his character to be hard.
Tanatulas in Earthspark doesn’t validate his existence much as is. I really do love him, but he’s replaceable and just clutters an already poorly handled cast. While I think it would be cool if he was just more important they clearly didn’t want that by not even giving him a finale shot. So I do think just swapping his episode with Shockwave (and whatever other alterations are needed to make that perfect) fixes the problem with having too many underdeveloped characters since it removes one character and in the process developes another.
#id rewatch the show to see how well this fixes it but I don’t hate myself that much#genuinely can’t remember shockwaves intro very well so I dunno make I’m wrong but this feels right#i loved Tranchulas very much but no one gets screen time so I think instead of letting a one shot character take up more room#you just edit it so someone important to later episodes actually shows up more#my biggest beef with ES is just how little they care about anyone outside of the Maltos#all I wanted was a funky show about big guys with not usual teams and kinda gay moments#all I got was a very forced found family and acting like these background characters matter more than they do#fucking hate everything about the kids ngl. can’t stand child soldier characters. hate it when humans are important to TF shows#and I hate it when they get magic. literally prime connection. stfu. i don’t want to hate kids because they’re kids but I do not like them.#earthspark spoilers#tf earthspark#earthspark shockwave#earthspark tarantulas#hate to slander one of my favorite episodes like this but I do think it would help the ending at the very least#i don’t even like how this shockwave looks. he’s too slim for sw. but like he makes more sense story wise#transformers#transformers earthspark#ugh hate to add in more ranting in between actual tags but I keep thinking if more stuff#worst things about the kids in ES is like all tv show children they always follow people into stuff even when told not to and cause issues#like bumblebee telling them to stay back. he’s got this. he’s literally a scout let the man scout#but no! they gotta follow him and are the reason he gets caught!#that plot line and character type is so common and everytime it annoys me greatly#can’t you just listen to the guy who can handle themselves and know what they’re doing? can’t you just stay back untrained guy? please?#for my mental health#original post

Yea, I’m convinced that the Miraculous season finale was unsatisfying on purpose.
The “happy ending” scene at the end had this surrealist lighting and slightly off-putting music in the background. It gives off major false utopia vibes. It actually makes me feel relieved, because there were two things I was worried about for this finale but the way they wrote it resolves those issues a bit.
First, I was worried that they were going to try to wrap up everything perfectly within the span of this two episode special. There was no way they were going to be able to give all the different plot points and character arcs the closure they needed within that time frame. by leaving us with an open ending, It gives itself room to properly develop and deal with the fallout from this mess slowly over time.
And then, arguably the bigger issue, was Miraculous’ future after season 5. I kept thinking to myself, what are they going to have to do to keep Miraculous interesting after this? Sure we’ve got Lila, or Cerise, or whatever her name is, but everything we’ve been following this series for since the beginning was about to be resolved. Monarch gone. The Agreste arc over. Adrienette canon. What is Miraculous’ sense of identity after this? Do they hit the reset button and retell the story Disney sequel style? Do they force a breakup between Adrienette to keep the romance plot alive? What’s the point of this still VERY fresh reveal of senti-Adrien if Gabriel and his influence is nothing but a distant memory?
But because of the way things went down, none of those things we thought would be resolved actually are. Monarch fucking won. He got what he wanted, and now everyone is living in a world of his image. He’s remembered as a goddamn hero, which is fucking infuriating! And Adrien doesn’t know! Doesn’t know that his dad was a supervillain and terrorist, doesn’t know that he’s a sentimonster, doesn’t fully accept that he’s been abused. And Marinette is keeping all that from him! Probably because she doesn’t want to inflict unnecessary pain on him, but when he finds out he’s going to be an absolute MESS.
Which means the Agreste plot, the family drama, the relationship antics that we’ve been following for all these years will continue as a throughline in the show. It means that there are natural reasons to continue existing conflicts and keep the show running without it feeling contrived. Because none of this is ok, and it’s going to take a lot of time to resolve. A lot of pain, a lot of drama, and a lot of conflict. I wouldn’t be surprised if Adrien and Marinette have major relationship problems over the secrets that she’s keeping from him. The Ladynoir angst from season 4 is back at full force. And you KNOW Cerise is going to zero in on that shit like a moth to a flame. Before this I was fearing a ultra-contrived break up to keep the audience invested in their story, but now I would be totally satisfied with a temporary break up as Marinette’s secrets become too much to keep hidden.
So yea, I was angry at the season 5 finale. The Gabriel statue made me gag. And I REALLY wanted to see Adrien stick it to his father. But then again, he did in his own way. He pulled one over his father by tricking him into muting his mics, which gave him a chance to strategize with Plagg. He’s the one who decided to play the long game and wait patiently while Plagg found a new holder to defeat Monarch with -- as opposed to rushing in with brute force, which shows significant character growth for him, by the way. I’m proud of him. And I can’t wait to see where his arc goes from here as he continues to explore his own agency and his relationships with people around him.
As for Marinette, I was very satisfied with her face-off against Monarch/Gabriel. The moment he realized his archnemesis was her was priceless. And that piano? God. That was glorious. She was a total badass. And she demonstrated her growth, too. She acted with a lot more maturity than we’ve seen at other points in her story by putting aside her personal vendetta towards Gabriel and Monarch to focus on creating a peaceful solution -- even if it did come back to bite her in the ass hard.
So the manipulator won. Fitting, because I feel kind of manipulated too. I would’ve never guessed in a million years that Gabriel would actually be able to make his wish in the permanent timeline, or that Miraculous would go down such an unsettling and unsatisfying route (at least in the short term). I’ve gotta respect them for that. All these years we thought we knew how this conflict was going to resolve -- all those dramatic reveals in the Agreste basement, the final battle between Adrien and his piece of shit dad, Adrien breaking out of his control in one decisive and cathartic swoop. Instead, we got something much more sinister, something much more insidious. Whatever is lurking around the corner is bound to have MAJOR repercussions going forward.
So I’m content to wait and see what happens next. There’s no point in complaining about how a story went when it isn’t even resolved yet. Was it perfect? Nope. Will it be done perfectly in the future? Also no. And that’s ok. Because it never will be perfect, and what we saw here made sense. It was impactful. It creates new opportunities for the characters and their story arcs that didn’t exist before this finale. We are in a new era of Miraculous, and I will be waiting on the edge of my seat to find out what the hell this beautifully unpredictable series is going to evolve into next.

Decided to rewatch NATLA to properly form my own takes that’s been running through my mind: (I’ll have both things that I like and dislike.) Part 1
SPOILERS!
I like it like a friend from a hundred years ago:
First and foremost, NATLA predominantly consists of Asian American Pacific Islanders. Good for them for creating a version that is more in their lens and creativity.
The Bendiiing. All of the elements, except for Earth, are 10/10. I really want it to be more solid, especially on AangvsBumi. It’s not that bad though, so much better than…well u know. I’ll give it an 8/10.
I rewatched it with a Filipino dub and it’s good, 9/10. Aang VO was convincing as a kid, so either they’re a great actor or a great kid actor. The jokes (Sokka’s sarcasm) hits better on my mother tongue
"You're my friend. You will always be my friend.”
Avatar state under the ocean
The costume. The only one that I do agree with everyone else that lacks is Zuko’s scar. They should’ve put prosthetics on the eyebrow.
Zuko’s hair? Hello? They did a great job. Even though my sister and I sing Ariana Grande song whenever we see them swaying. It’s an integral part of his story, and I loved that they keep it. There’s an East Asian culture that indicates that kind of haircut as a punishment. I remember my History teacher taught me this in eighth grade but I forgot which it was, my bad. And the actor’s such a champ for having that hair IRL.
My favorite actor performances: Gordon (Aang) superb acting. Liz (Azula). Utkarsh (Bumi). Justin Wong (Chong/SecretTunnelguy) sounds exactly like the character. Made up for my delusional expectation that Dee Bradley Baker would be in this. Ken Leung (Zhao) pisses me off so much, and that means he’s doing a great job. Dallas (Zuko) & Iroh (Paul). DDK's(Ozai) a natural idk if that's acting /j
Was it established in the OG that Katara's intro is a folklore/legend? Because yeah, I don’t mind that it is considered that way in this version.
AAAAA, the Lieutenant Jee younger casting makes so much sense now! The 41st division is chef kiss. Zuko cryiiiing when he was being banished!? Dallas Lui ate!
THE HYBRID ANIMALS LOOOK SO GOOD. The ostrich horse blended well with whoever rides them. It doesn’t look CGI to me. MOMO HIS MOMONESS, MOMO OF THE MOMO DYNASTY
Any Zuko fight choreography (MY FAVORITE CHOREO DALLAS LOOKS FIIIRE). And Aang’s too (Oh hey).
Aang the Hype Man
The fallen Fire Nation ship behind Zukka fighting. (It’s in my notes idk why but I guess background details are a win)
Aang and Iroh's interactions
NATLA Zuko (I don’t think there’s much of a difference though with the OG lol, and it’s probably because the NATLA directors/producers like Zuko)
Camera direction
The Found Family Hug™, what Netflix can do well.
End scene of Episode 1, is very cinematic. I can’t believe TV shows have come this far. I hope employees are paid well.
The End Theme remains the saaame, and is added with cinematic effects as well.
The folly/sound effect at the start of Episode 2. Why is this the only episode with that flair?
Creating a grave for Gyatso.
How Ozai’s forced unity/being totalitarian is represented. Reminds me so much of our own government, it amuses me. I know it’s not directly referencing that though. It’s good that they show it early on I guess. With the Fire Nation culty greeting as well.
On a lighter note: THE AIR SPHERE/BALL whatevah, yes! More of this goofiness. How about instead of being inspired by GOT, NATLA should be inspired by Stranger Things in terms of fantasy + childhood simplicity balanced by this trauma they're going through. (Well, ST lacks worldbuilding cause it’s just normal Earth but anyway)
Kyoshi Takeoveeer. I hope Roku gets more screen time someday though. Pls pls pls.
They incorporated the OG character theme songs! Of course! The ones I noticed right away are the FireNation Siblings’. So if you watched OG Avatar and you watched the scene where a mysterious girl joins the infiltration of the FN Royal Palace, you’ll know who she is.
Sorry not sorry, Daddy Dae Kim is daddying. (Although he did catch me off guard in Zuko’s Agni Kai lmao.) The plot.
The Aang VS Zuko fight! A reference to the Fortune Teller fight. The team did so well.
Zuko The Master of Disguise Major In Stealing Clothes. Full-time Avatar researcher.
A fourth wall foreshadows Bumi’s OOC for this version. Jet’s "he’s not like he used to be" in line. I mean they did warn us.
Another 4th wall is the line “Things shouldn’t be here” referring to the prototype Fire Nation balloon.
Nice animation with the retelling of Two Lovers legend.
Lu Ten Funeral scene ate. That single teaaaar. I recommend everyone who loves the animation to watch this scene. To feel something idk AHAHAHAH.
The actors were convincing when interacting with CGI animals. Specifically the badger moles.
ZUKO AND IROH SCENES!
CGI’s great did not waste any money
In Katara’s flashback. She experienced this in her present form. And when she was so scared to go to the place where her mom was killed, she immediately changed back to her young self. Like, I wanted that so bad when I was watching the flashback. I thought, this shouldn’t be the present-day Katara. There should be a moment when she switches back to young again. And they did.
Big Iroh-like moment that makes you cry as an adult when Gyatso was reassuring Aang that the genoc*de wasn’t his fault, and shouldn’t blame himself. Ahh, and the subtle sadness as they say goodbye.
Random eye drawing from Zuko. He’s an artist AHAHAHAH. Okay, I forgot which episode. Sincerely, unreliable narrator.
Showing Zuko's scar when Aang says "Do you even know that lives are at stake".
Basically every scene/plot they 1 by 1 copy from the show. Did not disappoint (well, maybe because OG showrunners were there). Blue Spirit, Siege of the North.
Zuko’s room. I love me some character bedrooms. He’s like a TV Sitcom character for that.
Gaang teamwork scenes! It works and it's dynamic.
Hahn as an honorable man? Yes. I don’t like love triangles so much. I like me some camaraderie. And Ian (Sokka) acted well for feeling included and seen as Hahn recognized his value as warrior/intel.
Zutara fight scene.
Two points that I don’t know if I like but it makes me realize some stuff:
Meek Katara. I know there are specific plot points that Feisty Katara is needed. But she was always nurturing, so I think it makes sense she’s…meek? That Jet scene explains it. Maybe because I relate to her being a log AHAHAHAH. But yeah, uh, I do not, ironically, have strong feelings against that water down.
Angry Bumi. IDK how to feel about him tbh. I always think Bumi is…harsh like that. Almost scary. But yeah, he never blames Aang. Still, it doesn’t feel out of place here. He will return anyway so he’s not this one-dimensional character that is only angry at his friend (hopefully). I never thought of how Bumi would actually feel. And that he will be upset, and now it’s sad because that’s like your friend when you were twelve years old and you wonder where he’s been all this time, and if he’s alive. And..war..never made it any better to process that emotion. So, we got two versions, one that is cautious and then eventually welcomes him, and another who's completely angry and blames a literal kid that he does not know the pain (from the war). Too real, and I personally don’t mind.

Rowan Trevelyan - Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014)
Coping with the fact that I won't have Veilguard in my hands until tomorrow by taking pictures of my favorite Trevelyan Inquisitor.
World State Info and Basic Background below cut for anyone interested.
Rowan's Background
Honestly just a big ass mabari masquerading as a human. Autistic as fuck and hyper-focused on Thedas History. Youngest of 5, but due to elder siblings joining The Chantry or dying as a result of the Trevelyan's dabbling in The Game, he was unexpectedly shoved into the role of the next head of House Trevelyan. His parents paraded him around like a peacock at parties, which he was not happy to attend. Caused a few minor scandals because his autism made him terrible at The Game, most of which was swept under the rug. That is until a distant cousin, envious of Rowan's position, paid off a male servant to seduce Rowan and expose him in the middle of a party. Rowan's parents tried to force him into an arranged marriage with a female childhood friend of a family that owed the Trevelyan's too many favors, but once Rowan found out he fled from Ostwick. He made for the Conclave, intending to join his eldest sister in the Templar Order. However, he arrived just in time for the Conclave to blow up, which eventually landed him in the role of Inquisitor.
World State
Recruited Templars and Absorbed them into the Inquisition. Pledged to help them rebuilt, in memory of his sister.
Felt a kinship with Gaspard over their mutual dislike of The Game. Did not intend to let Celine die, but had such low approval at The Winter Palace that he couldn't get to her fast enough to save her. Thanks to Leliana, they were able to gather enough evidence to blackmail Briala into leaving Orlais so that Gaspard could rule alone.
Warden Stout stayed behind in the fade. Remaining Grey Wardens are absorbed into the Inquisition. Hawke travels to Weisshaupt.
Leliana is softened, and elected as next Divine.
Rowan drank from the Well of Sorrows.
Vowed to stop Solas and dissolved The Inquisition at the end of Trespasser. Was more than happy to step away from all the politics. Preferred that he have only a few close and trusted friends help him track down Solas, rather than an entire organization.
Romanced - Dorian
Rowan was so distracted by Dorian when the magister arrived at the gates of Haven that Rowan took more than the usual amount of magical blasts to the chest during the siege because he couldn't stop looking back at Dorian's handsome-ass face.
Literally lights up any time he spots Dorian.
Relations with other Characters
Sees Cole as a younger brother that also blurts out things he shouldn't, made him more like a Spirit.
Convinced Iron Bull to save The Chargers. Even though Rowan's the 'boss,' he looked up to Iron Bull as a respectable fighter. When he got worn out from the politics of leading The Inquisition (which was frequent) he'd seek out Iron Bull for training to distract himself. Dorian made it a habit to sit nearby whenever the two men started training.
Holds great respect for Cassandra, and low-key sees his later sister in her. They spoke often of what it meant to lose a family member and needing to live up to others expectations.
Loved to listen to Solas talk about The Fade, and was always asking questions. He shocked Solas with how humble and willing he was to looking at things with a difference perspective.
Vivian took a single look at Rowan, immediately pegged him as a victim of the game like herself, and took him under her wing. She made sure either herself or Josephine was always at his side whenever the politics of nobility was involved (so they could basically acting as his autism translator and navigate The Game better).
Respects that Blackwall is trying to atone for his sins, but isn't very close with him.
Enjoys the few times he spent with Sera, but often gets confused cus of the way she talks so he didn't often seek out her company.
Is a huge fan of Varric's books. Rowans was so star-struck that they barely interacted.

Rebels Rewatch: “Fighter Flight”
We went out shopping and wound up stealing a military aircraft, only on Rebels people, only on Rebels.
This is one of my favorite episodes to rewatch, it’s just so FUN.
A very pretty shot of Lothal, pre-burninating, and a short mellow excerpt of the Main Titles theme to open us up.
Behind the scenes it seems that Kanan has been teaching Ezra something, because he’s poised over this bowl like he’s ready and raring to practice something he learned.
You know I gotta talk about it, it’s the flirting scene!
Look at this dork trying to be all suave and charming. ^_^
It doesn’t work because of course Ezra is fourteen and a dumbass just how I like ‘em but I like that Sabine never really seems overly bothered by his attempts, mildly irritated at worst, and even then she never gives him a hard no and she’s plenty capable, she certainly doesn’t let niceties get in the way of her speaking her mind on other things.
(See: How she was almost outright rude to Kanan and Hera about the whole Fulcrum thing.)
Subtle animation appreciation moment: Ezra briefly losing his place leaned against the doorframe and having to quickly readjust. Adorkable.
Zeb, you’re already awake, there’s no point to threatening Ezra here.
Smug little bastard I love him so much.
I really do like that they explore the inevitable friction that was going to occur when you house a snarky teenager with a cranky grown adult. It builds naturally off the previous episode.
Plus I just love Zeb and Ezra’s dynamic and love seeing them grow to respect and care about each other, sue me.
This is nitpicky but... sometimes the paths the characters take through this ship make no damn sense.
Like right here, Ezra comes out of the nose gun pod... which can only be accessed via the cockpit ladder that he immediately runs to. We can hypothesize that maybe he made a detour via the vents, as in the pilot, but... Zeb comes that path too. And he definitely doesn’t fit in the Ghost’s ventilation system.
Granted I notice this because I obsessively charted out the Ghost’s layout but still, it bugs me.
Zeb coming in with a flying leap to tackle Ezra will never not be hilarious.
The Found Family dynamics are in full swing this episode; Hera lording over as Team Mom, Zeb and Ezra acting like squabbling siblings, pretty sure this is the first time someone refers to the other three as “the kids”, Kanan and Hera being absolutely low-key married...
The bouncy, elastic character movement is also very prominent here. Like I said, the show loses this as it goes on, but it lends itself perfectly to the comedy of this episode.
Please appreciate Ezra swiping at Zeb like a feral cat with me.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The animators take time out to have Ezra scratching up into his hair as he turns from Sumar. I love little tiny character details like this, it just makes things feel so natural and organic.
Imperial March snatches coming on the clarinet here.
Again with the small character moments, Ezra crouching and readying his slingshot.
Rebels said Eminent Domain is the arm of state tyranny, pass it on.
Friiiiiiick the height difference between Ezra and Zeb is getting to me, he is so freaking tiny!
No wonder everyone he meets feels the immediate need to adopt and protect him.
Serious question: What exactly does the Empire want or need with a crate of meilooruns? They hardly seem the type to care that much about the nutritional needs of their troops.
Like as not it’s for the plate of an officer with an expensive palate.
Ezra already responding much better to Zeb’s shoulder punches.
I would like to just reiterate: I love Zeb and Ezra’s friendship, it is adorable, they play so nicely off each other and I’m glad they got this bonding episode in early Season One.
The bouncy woodwind that’s been picking away in the background here transitions seamlessly into the Force theme prelude, hgn I LOVE it when the score adds to plot beats.
I could be wrong, but this sounds vaguely like a cue from ANH when the Stormtroopers were chasing Han and Chewie.
Ezra being so smol that Zeb can literally chuck him up to a rooftop. *cries*
Baron Valen Rudor was featured in Ezra’s introductory short (Zeb’s too I think?), it’s kind of a running gag how the Rebels show up to ruin this guy’s day in particular. And it is hilarious.
Please appreciate Zeb’s maniacal cackle as he blasts troopers away with the TIE fighter with me.
Oh wow, I never noticed the subtle Force ring sound effect right here with Ezra leaping to the other roof. Nice touch.
I hear some notes from the Return of the Jedi soundtrack here, specifically when the Rebel Alliance is making its attack on the Death Star. I think that may be one of the leitmotifs associated with the Rebel Alliance specifically?
I really want to know the story behind Ezra’s, “You don’t know how. Let me!” here.
A lot of this really seems to suggest that Ezra’s flown ships before.
Force ring sound effect coming in as Ezra senses the approaching rock formation and once again, I love this show’s animation. I think I have a gifset of this moment specifically under my #your clone wars could never tag.
(Explanation: That tag is mostly for appreciating early Season One Rebels animation, which is on the level of TCW’s Season Three at least.)
I may be a Sabezra whore at heart, but I do love how casually domestic Kanan and Hera are right here.
This is one of the funniest exchanges on the show. XD
Subtle animation appreciation moment: Zeb’s ear flickers and the awkward way Ezra scratches his face.
Ezra’s “I think I know where it [the smoke] is coming from.” makes me think he’s visited the Sumar’s farm at least once or twice and knows its general location.
IIRC a large part of this episode’s inspiration was the toy or concept of this specific transport right here. Fun trivia fact.
I don’t think anyone anticipated Lyste becoming more prominent a player lol.
Like an OC you get inexplicably fond of.
Oh hey! Ezra’s theme is piping in here!
Oh frick is that a Dies Irae reference?
(For context, the Dies Irae is basically an ooooooooold classical music meme, usually used to musically portent death, doom, or gloom. Star Wars tends to use the Dies Irae liberally. Rogue One in particular had heavy Dies Irae references in several of its tracks.)
This music cue, on the other hand? Unique to Rebels. Kind of fun, but then I’m a soundtrack nerd and enjoy this kind of thing.
Zeb continuing in the classic Star Wars tradition of, “We’re fine, we’re all fine here... now... How are you?” failed bluffing lololol.
I know I’ve mentioned my appreciation for the hair animation but... seriously.
It’s so soft-looking.
A stuttered, half-formed variation of the Force Theme here, which only plays a few notes in the sequence, just the suggestion of the leitmotif really.
Luke’s Theme, on the other hand, though in mellow horns, allowed to play more fully, though interrupted on the very end by a sharp discordant note as the Stormtroopers come up top.
This is what we call ~*musical storytelling*~.
Snrk, one Trooper downed by fruit, the other by friendly fire. Love the whimsical little sting as Ezra’s pelting them with meilooruns.
“You did all this... for FRUIT?!”
Still one of the funniest lines in the series.
Oh wow I just noticed the nice scuffed texture on Ezra’s backpack.
Ezra’s jaunty little salute character tic, which Kanan picks up. <33333
Props to Zeb’s prehensile feet, love whenever the writers use them.
I wanna know when and how Zeb learned about Ezra’s helmet collecting hobby, did Ezra try to cram his stash on the shelves as soon as he moved in? Lol.
Awwww and Ezra’s already getting comfortable with arm bumps, love to see it.
*bangs “Rebels animation was gorgeous from the start, ya’ll just hatin’” drum*
I think I can hear some of the cue from the “Property of Ezra Bridger” short. Pretty sure it’s used as a kind of “Rebel shenanigans” leitmotif throughout the series.
Prime “aww” moment here as Zeb and Ezra wrestle, love love love the boys being affectionate, underrated friendship, gimme more.
Lol, Ezra sounds more confused than offended by Sabine’s painting.
And a slightly more upbeat rendition of Ezra’s theme to close us out.
I love this episode it’s got Zeb and Ezra friendship bonding, Kanan/Hera being adorably married, it becomes delightfully relevant to the finale, and it’s hilarious, I don’t really have anything else to say except haters to the left, why don’t you have some fun occasionally?
Tomorrow, the episode that most people said was the hook for them for the show and the start of major Spacedad-Spaceson feels.

fic update #4 - scara's background
To reiterate this part of my take on the Genshin Impact modern AU. I will be writing about the other characters in a separate post.
KEEP IN MIND THAT THE ENTIRE STORY IS FROM HIS POV (this is a surprise tool that will help us later)
Kunikuzushi was the name Ei gave him when she adopted him. She was not at all interested in getting pregnant the "normal" way so she decided to adopt. She found Kunikuzushi in the adoption center as a very young toddler. She saw promise in the child and took him home.
It was not until long, however, where she was met with disappointment. See, Ei was looking for a successor who can follow her footsteps and become mayor of the town of Teyvat, or at the very least, become a better leader than she was. What she was looking for was a firm child, who will grow up to be the perfect leader.
However, Kunikuzushi was a very emotional kid. He cried when his mother was out late. He threw tantrums when Yae Miko (more on her later) was forced to babysit him. He was not fond of dango milk or any food that Ei tried to feed him. She immediately regretted having adopted an emotional child but because of her search for perfection, and her reputation, she couldn't return him to the orphanage. She had to continue raising him.
When his sister, Raiden, was born (from an IVF), Kunikuzushi was immediately cast aside. He was also second place to his sister and in the eyes of his perfectionist mother. Raiden was a a perfect copy of his mother, with the perfect genes and stoic personality Ei always wanted.
Soon after, he was dubbed as the black sheep of the family. Rumors were spread around about him being unstable, a psychopath, a mistake. Some said that the mayor adopted him as an act of charity and that he was a mistake.
And while he wished that he could swallow his emotions and become numb, Kunikuzushi couldn't help but absorb everything that was happening to him. He was filled with pent up anger, pain, sadness and heartache. He never grew to properly control them.
Fast forward to his freshman year of high school, he was a loner. No one paid any mind to him. In fact, because Raiden and he weren't in the same school, there was more reason for no one to acknowledge him. It didn't erase his background or the stigma people had against him, but Kunikuzushi would rather be ignored than hated.
Ajax, the class clown, and he got into a fight that caused them both to be in detention. With Ajax's prying, Kunikuzushi ended up venting out his frustrations to another person for the first time. He hoped to put that incident behind him.
The next day, he went to school and Ajax invited him to join the school's theater group (link to that post here) where he can express his emotions with the art. Kunikuzushi, not necessarily having stage fright and mostly just being bothered by people's opinion of him, ended up auditioning and got the role of Scaramouche, a villainous character.
Liking that name, he decided to adopt it, so he can be someone other than Kunikuzushi. Sure that won't erase his past, but he could maybe use that as a start to find a new identity for himself- one that had nothing to do with his family.
#ending it here because this is what you essentially need to know before the story starts#this may be a chiscara fic but this is scaras story#childe is just a side character lol#scaramouche#Kunikuzushi#genshin impact modern au#genshin impact au#genshin modern au#genshin au

you're correct about ozai. i only loosely remember the comics, but the additional context there is pretty much that ursa was the grandchild of roku (whose family went into hiding precisely to avoid being roped into fire nation politics), that she already had a lover when ozai's father found her and set her up to be married to ozai (presumed to be zuko's actual father), and that ozai treated ursa as basically a trophy wife, going as far as to tell her that their wedding was the last time she would see her own family because she's "his." the man has a very solid background to be a misogynist, and they just didn't touch on it at all in the show, except to imply he was a bad husband (which...no shit).
i kind of respect the attempts to make more rounded female characters, including a female long-term villain, but i think they dropped the ball when considering misogyny and female oppression as topics (even though the writers clearly had it in mind at some points, they could never seem to commit or go all the way; it was better than a lot of other media, but it was FAR from perfect). i'm not necessarily against fully evil female characters, though i'm not very into wholly evil characters in general, and i'm mostly bothered by the fact that the younger girl sibling was irredeemably evil when the older male sibling was fully redeemable. also, i lowkey think that azulas traits play into some misogynistic tropes (as a little sister who was always accused of being a liar who faked her emotions to "get her way" (but was also "overly emotional," as well??) and was seemingly assumed not to care about anyone or anything else other than herself and her own self-satisfaction, her depiction stung to see quite a bit).
even though the writers clearly had it in mind at some points, they could never seem to commit or go all the way
YES
They wanted the credit of having these themes but were unwilling to give them the full depth that makes people truly appreciate them. While I think Azula's slip of mind was horrifying in a good way, I think it was rushed entirely too much. I think the earliest we see this "slip" is Boiling Rock when she's "betrayed" by Ty Lee and Mai. There's definitely a shock in her expression when Mai basically tells her "you haven't been controlling me with fear the way you think you've been".
But we should have see more. You can't provide to me this calculated queen of battle and then three episodes before the finale be like "oh but naw, she's losing it". Like, why would she be losing it over some bullshit like her hair was fucked up or she JUST started thinking about her mother? She just got everything she's been hounding for!
If you want me to think she's losing it over her new position as firelord (by the way, I love the genderless title of the throne. Kind of like Pharaoh), have her flashback to the betrayal of Ty Lee and Mai. Show me how she's looking around and putting on unnecessary acts of force to keep intact this method of control she's used her whole life. Show me an example of her thinking she's got everyone in the palace under her control of fear but its somehow revealed that they only really follow her because they're more afraid of Ozai.
That is a problem with this franchise in general. If you're gonna do it? DO IT.
I LOVE the ending of Amon's season. There was no redemption! And his brother knew that so he KILLED THEM BOTH. And we don't know what that tear was! Was he crying because he was happy to be reunited with his brother? Was he crying because he, the master blood bender, could sense what his brother was doing? I personally love that ending because they followed through. This guy was indoctrinated by his father but rebelled too far and overall, was just too far gone.
I do not think at any point Azula was too far gone. Yet, that's what they kept trying to sell to me.
Azula wouldn't be some compulsive liar. She would be so brazened in her fear tactics that there would be no need to lie. She'd say "I only lie when I'm afraid, and what do I have to be afraid of?"
They have a better show of female rep, but like you said, I hope people don't hail it as perfect.

For real though. the “happy ending” scene at the end had this surrealist lighting and slightly off-putting music in the background.
We are in a new era of Miraculous, and I will be waiting on the edge of my seat to find out what the hell this beautifully unpredictable series is going to evolve into next.
honestly i think (mostly hope) everyones reaction (the salty ones) are the reactions we're supposed to have. like after everything thats happened this is the way it ends for gabriel?? nah pretty sure (not really but i can dream) this finale is supposed to make us mad and suspicious

SO I just finished binging all of Romantic Killer bc it came up in my recommended. And oh my god I loved it so much;;
There’s definitely mixed reviews about it WHICH IS FAIR bc the premise is about a girl named Anzu who isn’t interested in romantic relationships but she then gets pushed into typical dating sim situations with Really Cute Boys in an effort to like. Force her into a relationship. And obv this kinda comes off as arophobic. But the fact that she so stubbornly refuses to partake and tries so hard to veer away from those situations makes it so fucking funny, especially when she rejects the boys with faces like this
And it turns out it’s really just a show about found family and overcoming trauma and developing healthy friendships with people and UGH. UGHHH it’s so good.
I actually adore Riri lmao they’re SUCH a little shit and I very much enjoy insanely chaotic characters like that. And we start off thinking okay wow this person’s kind of an asshole for forcing a girl to get a boyfriend by taking away her cat, her favorite hobby and her favorite snack, but then we find out OH, they’re just a cog in a corporate machine and they don’t really have much of a choice about it. And we slowly see Riri actually gain true affection for Anzu, and see how much they come to care about her as a person rather than just as a test subject, to the point of them actually breaking the rules of their contract just to make sure she’s safe. AND NOT JUST HER. They make sure the people she’s associated with are safe too, even if it risks them getting in Big Trouble with their boss. AND the fact that they canonically go by they/them pronouns but can ALSO transform into a boy or a girl depending on their preference, and they playfully flirt with Anzu in both forms?? It’s so good. Also thinking about the effort that Anzu goes through to make sure Riri gets to stick around;; like even tho she’d never admit it. She’s come to care for them too in some very strange way lol
And Junta;; the fact that Anzu is actually so concerned about him possibly being brainwashed into the position of childhood friend? Like she doesn’t immediately push him away or shut him down, she actually cares about him as a person and wants him to find happiness and wants to get him out of the situation she thinks he’s in. But then she finds out oh wait he actually IS a childhood friend. And he’s such a good boy. I love love LOVE how they handle the love triangle aspect in this, because obviously yes there’s a bit of jealousy, but not enough for things to get petty between him and Kazuki. They actually treat each other with respect and regard each other as friends and are kinda rooting for the other in their own way. Kind of “may the best man win” sort of thing. There’s no toxicity, there’s no classic “fighting over the female love interest” trope, they actually genuinely like each other after a bit of awkwardness enough to feel comfortable with living together and living with Anzu. They’re SO fucking sweet god dammit //shakes fists
(Honestly tho I really wish we got more episodes focused on Junta. Bc he really seemed like more of a background character and made the whole “love triangle” aspect not feel as prominent. Which is fine I guess?? But I felt so bad for him lmao)
And Kazuki 😭 My beloved. My poor sweet boy who deserves the world and everything in it. Just the build up. The subtle hints of his trauma that pop up every now and then. And when it all comes together you’re like oh!! Ohhh. THAT’S why he acts so aloof and cold all the time. THAT’S why he doesn’t like being the center of female attention. THAT’S why he gets distressed at things that, at first, seem so insignificant. THAT’S why he got attached to Anzu so quickly. And I love the way they handle his trauma, how they don’t make it seem any less important or alarming just because he’s a guy. And how Anzu’s there for him through everything 🤧 How she’s the person to pull him out of the darkness, how she stands up for him time and time again, how she just KNOWS when he’s uncomfortable and steps in to protect him. She ends up caring about him so much despite how they were set up to encounter initially. And he cares about her so much too. And I just 🥺 I care them
Also the fact how everyone came to help Kazuki when they found out what was going on. No judgement, no “you’re making this up”, no “isn’t this your fault to begin with?” They all just step in without even hesitating and support him through his trauma and immediately go “Okay we’ve got a problem so here’s our gameplan.” SEE. IT’S REALLY ABOUT THE FOUND FAMILY,
And one of my favorite things. Riri 🤝 Hijiri using their influence and power to protect both Anzu and Kazuki despite the risks to their reputation and social standing
OH AND I wanted to mention. I love that all of the classic romantic tropes i.e. something happening to your cute neighbor’s apartment so that they’re forced to live with you while it gets sorted out--those are generally really cheesy and make huge plot holes and don’t make ANY sense in the narrative. But that’s the thing about RK, they make it funny, yeah your cute boy neighbor’s apartment flooded bc we need him to come live with you. We did it with magic. Yes your childhood friend is living with you now bc we had a weirdo break into your apartment--with magic. So now he feels like he needs to stay with you and protect you. Yes you got hit by a car with a really rich boy inside and now he’s interested in you. We also did this with magic. Everything that would be regarded as a “coincidence” and is a badly written plot point just to push two characters together is actually explained through the hilarious concept of magic and I LOVE that it’s so fucking funny
Honestly this show is really up to interpretation too which I like a lot? Some people think hey yeah, maybe Anzu will end up with someone. Others say you know what the message here is that friendship is the most important thing and sometimes platonic relationships are better than romantic ones. The ending is pretty ambiguous so it could really go in any direction.
Anyway I have so much more to say but. Just watch Romantic Killer it’s really good thanks bye
(Trigger warnings include sexual harassment/assault, stalking, panic attacks/PTSD, and attempted murder, so please take care while watching <3)
#Romantic Killer#Romantic Killer spoilers#Anzu Hoshino#Riri#Tsukasa Kazuki#Junta Hayami#Shima speaks#Long post#I'M SORRY I JUST REALLY ENJOYED IT AND WANTED TO SHARE.#Anime recs#I love Kazuki so so so much#Probably bc he reminds me a LOT of Todoroki#Like. They have the same calm disposition and mannerisms#And they talk the same way too#I could not. Help but think of a BNHA crossover while I watched this. SORRY#But yeah it's so good 😭#Kazuki my sweet angel my cinnamon roll who's never done anything wrong in his life ever#Also lmao like. Love triangles yeah okay. But Anzu has TWO HANDS. So does Junta and Kazuki. LET THEM DATE.#Or at least be in a happy platonic relationship together

My Review of Helluva Boss season 1
Disclaimer: Yes this is my opinion. No I’m not forcing you to agree with it. I am ignoring the pilot episode for this review
Episode 1: Murder Family
Plot Summary: When the I.M.P get hired to take out a heroic homicide survivor, things sure do happen.
Review: It... was okay. It showed off how the personalities and characters were going to be treated during the season. For example, Blitz is a complete asshole with no regard for his employees, Millie has no personality except hot murder wife, Moxxie is treated like shit and has no spine, and Loona has a bad attitude and is largely forgotten. Some things that bothered me the most was how the hell Mayberry knew Martha survived and got all the cash. Like... in this hell isn’t it impossible for the average demon to know what the fuck is happening on the surface? Also the ending. The ending was complete shit. First with the police bombing the house. It was... very abrupt? Like yes police brutality is very much a thing but there are better ways to illustrate it. Also the laughing and “lesson learned” part felt very forced and awkward. It wasn’t natural, Helluva Boss itself doesn’t parody children’s shows so why at the end have it parody that? The humor doesn’t hold up. At all. It’s all shock value stuff and it’s only funny on the first viewing. Rewatches just don’t add up. There’s no good build up for most of the gags imo, nor is the follow through very strong.
Rating: 5/10
~
Episode 2: Loo Loo Land
Plot Summary: When Stolas hires I.M.P as bodyguards on a trip to Loo Loo Land, things sure do happen.
Review: It was better than the first episode but still shows off very early problems in the story. First of all, it highlights how selfish Stolas is, completely ignoring what Octavia is saying to go and flirt with some asshole she probably doesn’t even know. A minor issue I had was with Millie’s character, or lack thereof. Why did she act like an idiot in this episode, hell even missing a shot she could’ve easily made considering her background in being a literal assassin. And this episode, when compared with all the others just doesn’t add up. It shouldn’t have been released that soon.
Rating: 6/10

Episode 3: Spring Broken
Plot Summary: When Blitzo's ex girlfriend steals his parking spot things sure do happen.
Review: Disclaimer. Yes I’m asexual. Yes I find an abundance of sexual themes uncomfortable. But I also know someone who isn’t asexual (and a very sexual person) who found the abundance of sexual themes in this episode uncomfortable. Now, I will give the show some credit, the scene with Blitz saying “I love this song” and then fucking up the lyrics is hilarious. I’m going to be honest... the part where Moxxie got sexually assaulted rubbed me the wrong way. In episode 1, Blitz threatened to fuck him and Millie, in a way that didn’t seem so keen towards consent. So right now that’s at least two rapey jokes in a show that’s supposedly sex positive. Also the whole part about Blitz stealing Verosika’s credit card and maxing it out while Blitz just dismisses it (maxing out a credit card is a very valid reason to be pissed at somebody-) makes me wonder “why the fuck am I supposed to care about this asshole?” In episode 1 Stolas mentioned that he was letting Blitz in the human world illegally. Why is Verosika allowed to go to the human world and run around, probably becoming very popular, which we can assume by that one dude with her name painted on his chest, and I.M.P isn’t? Also what purpose are they serving by being on the surface? They’re fucking humans big whoop. Are they damning them to hell? For having sex outside or marriage or some shit?? Because if that’s the cause then it’s not really that sex positive lmao. Also how old is Loona supposed to be? Because the show and Blitz treat her kinda like some emo teen but I’ve heard that she’s in her twenties??? Also the “I adopted you so you should care about me” angle Blitz is trying to push on Loona reminds me of parents who tell their kids “I birthed you therefore you should put up with my shit”. Also funny how none of the songs seem to be catchy at all or stick in my head, and I’m usually one to get songs stuck in my head easily.
Rating: 3.5/10
~
Episode 4: C.H.E.R.U.B
Plot Summary: When Cherubs and Imps clash over the life of a shitty old man, things sure do happen.
Review: Full disclaimer. I hate this episode. I hate this episode with a passion. Like first of all, why the hell are people even questioning where the billionaire is gonna end up. This episode contributed nothing. All it did was show me how little Viv cares about her source material. And how needlessly crass she can be. The unneeded gore, the uncalled for pedophile joke, the frankly childish pessimism... it all contributes to showing how horrible that episode is. Also that fucking ending grinded all my gears. Honestly, it proves that Charlie is wrong and that demons can’t be redeemed. I need to pray after this episode.
Rating: 2/10
~
Episode 5: The Harvest Moon Festival
Plot Summary: Blitz sees a horse. Things sure do happen!
Review: Ah love how not even a full minute in, Stolas talks down on Blitz. And Blitz invades the privacy of Moxxie and Millie. Why are we supposed to like him again? I wish we saw more of Moxxie nerding out over weaponry. I also wish they talked more about how it’s supposedly impressive that an imp started his own business? Also why is Millie acting childish??? Sallie Mae is the only character I like and that’s because she only has like three lines. (and I’d like to mention how she gets so little screen time and yet Viv pumps out merch of her). Why is Striker even singing? There’s no need for him to sing at all, it adds nothing to the plot. I kinda wish they had kept Striker for on longer, have him slowly gain the trust of everyone and get closer only to stab them in the back. But oh well. Then that would mean actually writing a character arc. Also that Loona entrance was dumb as fuck, it genuinely felt like the writers had no idea how to get out of killing Striker. For a show with a lot of death, they seem hesitant to kill off characters we give a shit about. Although I will give credit where credit is due, it’s an okay episode. Better than most Helluva Boss episodes even if it is mediocre.
Rating: 6/10
~
Episode 6: Truth Seekers
Plot Summary: Characters talk, and things sure do happen!
Review: Ohhh boy this episode has some major issues. First of all, saying they are killing specifically targeted people is just wrong. It doesn’t look like that at all. They killed (from the PUBLIC’S point of view) a heroic woman, a bunch of college students, and an old billionaire. That doesn’t look like they are killing specifically targeted people. Again, giving credit where credit is due, that scene where Moxxie and Blitz annoy the shit out of the agents (especially Moxxie’s fake drink order) was genuinely funny and enjoyable, even if it went on a beat too long. Why do the agents in the hallways have swords???? Also during that whole truth serum drug trip, the agents didn’t ONCE ask them any questions! It’s almost like this was a way to force character development onto Blitz. The song was okay at best. Blitz saying he gives Moxxie a hard time because he believes in him is bullshit. All Blitz does is insult him over usually nothing. That’s not pushing him to be greater, that’s Blitz being a dick. Also, genuinely, that scene where Stolas pulled Blitz by a chain to come to him, with Blitz’s expression? That disgusted me. Helluva Boss is fetishizing a toxic relationship. I don’t care if a show has a toxic relationship on screen, especially if it’s an adult show, but to pretend it’s healthy? It ain’t nowhere near healthy. Blitz was given character development without having to work for it. Are there going to be any consequences for the imps literally killing a bunch of people on the surface? For being caught? Millie has no personality except for “badass wife” as per usual. Stolas literally calls Blitz his “impish little plaything”. How is that a healthy uwu gay relationship again? Also he’s being a condescending asshole, joy. Just kill the agents why didn’t they kill the agents-
Rating: 4/10
~
Episode 7: Ozzie’s
Plot Summary: Things sure do happen!
Review: Any character development from the previous episode? Gone! He’s full on stalking and crossing boundaries that Moxxie explicitly set. And he’s using Stolas to help with the stalking. And why was Stella insistent on killing off Stolas if she’s going to take Octavia away regardless? (Which really should’ve been shown on screen) Having Blitz and Stolas being called out was sorta satisfying but there are better ways to have them face the consequences of their actions. Nothing much to comment on mainly because I want to be done with this review lmao.

I'M LOWKEY IN THE MOOD FOR SOME FLUFF SO I DECIDED TO MAKE THESE HEADCANONS. i hope you guys enjoy! <3
Pregnancy Headcanons
Characters: Reiner, Porco, Colt, and Zeke
Warnings: Mentions of NSFW, pregnancy, birth
Reiner Braun:
- ohh boy, now let me just say this man has a breeding kink so you've definitely have had some pregnancy scares before. it was kind of common 😳.
- now when you started feeling sick one day, you instantly were concerned. Reiner noticed the change in your behavior as well. You seemed more tired, you barely slept, and worst of all you threw up a ton. it was a lot more than usual as well.
- Reiner didn't know what was wrong, he was scared to lose you.
- that's when it dawned on him that you two had sex weeks prior, without a condom. he was freaked out because he wasn't sure if you had forgotten. he decided to go to you about it and he explained that you should take a pregnancy test.
- you thought the idea of you being pregnant was ridiculous, but you gave in and took the test.
- when it came back positive, your whole world just stopped. you were pregnant with Reiner's baby.
- when you told him he was absolutely ecstatic. Reiner was excited to start this new chapter with you and assured you that everything was going to be okay, and he'd be by your side through everything. he was very helpful in getting what you needed.
- you found out you were about 6 weeks along at the doctor's office, and you two couldn't be happier.
- Reiner is very protective of you already. with you being pregnant, he is now 100x more protective than before. HE HAS HIS EYES ON YOU 24/7. whenever you go out, he goes with you. he was always around in case of an emergency.
- lowkey into pregnancy sex
- the symptoms were the worst, Reiner would wake up some nights to you going back and forth to the bathroom or throwing up at certain smells of foods. he was there for all of your mood swings and odd cravings 😭, he would always laugh whenever you would run to the bathroom having to pee.
- Reiner absolutely falls in love with your pregnant belly, there's just something he loves about your belly being so big. he always has his hands on your bump <3.
- both of you would argue over gender, Reiner wanted a girl and you wanted a boy. eventually you found out you were having a girl, and Reiner felt like a total bad bitch 😭.
- Reiner would have Bertholdt come check in on you often if he's at work, or he'll send you a text asking how you're feeling. he understands how some days you can have terrible morning sickness and that you need some love.
- he'll massage any part of your body that's sore.
- Karina was excited to be a grandma, she would often invite you over to ask how you were feeling. she was a huge help for you and Reiner during the whole process, she practically acted like you were her daughter.
- Reiner would so make a nursery by himself 🥺, he'd do it all within like two days and you'd be so impressed by it all. he wants everything to be ready before your little one comes home.
- when your water broke, Reiner was absolutely a total mess. Bertholdt and Annie had to calm him down, he was so scared.
- it was hard for Reiner to watch you cry in pain, he was a total mess at the doctor's office he had to walk out of the delivery room. eventually, he came back and watching you give birth was one of the most beautiful things he got to watch.
- HE WAS SO EMOTIONAL WHEN HE HELD HER 🥺🥺🥺. HOLY SHIT THIS MAN WAS A SOBBING MESS.
- god pls give this man a baby, he is such an amazing father.
Porco Galliard:
- Porco is always one to notice odd behavior or changes in your usual routine. he's very observant and blunt, so expect him to question you a ton whenever something seems out of the ordinary for you.
- when you started feeling sick, Porco found it odd. he hadn't seen you this sick in a really long time and it kind of concerned him being honest, he was scared that you were seriously ill. he would hold your hair back everytime you threw up your food. it really worried him.
- Porco overthinks A TON, he thought you were dying or something.
- that's when Porco decided to take you to the doctor. the last straw hit when you practically almost passed out when you were working out, he basically forced your ass into going to the doctor.
- you explained your symptoms to the doctor and after a few tests, you found out you were pregnant.
- hearing those words made Porco genuinely shocked, but he was so excited and happy. he told you he'd support whatever you wanted to do and after some talking, you both decided to keep it. he assured you he wasn't going anywhere and he was going to take care of you and your baby.
- Porco definitely goes overboard with it all 😭, mans would barely let anyone even breath next to you. he is so defensive over you and the baby, he's just protective like that. he sleeps with one eye open practically.
- dealing with the symptoms were a lot to handle at first. Porco wasn't sure what would trigger you to vomit or what would piss you off. you told him not to worry about anything and that you'd be okay, of course he's a stubborn little shit and just pouts but you find it to be adorable. he laughs when you have to pee 500 times a night.
- he loves the bump, he always pokes it for some reason and laughs.
- Porco wants a girl so bad. he literally tells you how much he wants a daughter and that's what he ended up getting. he found out you were having a girl and he was absolutely ecstatic, he was so ready to meet her.
- Marcel would probably come around if Porco was out working or he wasn't able to be at home. sometimes he'd send Pieck to check up on you if you weren't responding to him quick enough. this baby is so concerned over every little thing 😭.
- Porco would carry you around everywhere if your feet were sore. he knows how sore your body is so he'll carry you around the house.
- his family was very excited for the two of you, his mom was so happy to finally have a baby coming in the family. she gave you tons of advice and she gifted you with a ton of items for the baby.
- Porco asked Marcel to help him with the nursery, he didn't have any clue where to start and your due date was approaching faster than he could even blink. it took awhile, but they ended up making a really cute and pretty nursery. Porco felt like a proud dad in that moment.
- when your water broke, hell on Earth happened.
- Porco wasn't even there when it happened, you were with Pieck and it broke. when he got the call he went absolute ape shit and ran out the door, he literally zoomed to the damn hospital.
- he became so worried about you 🥺, seeing how uncomfortable you were and how much pain you were in made him so scared. he stayed by your side as long as he could so he could somewhat make it a little less painful.
- it was really late when you finally gave birth and Porco was awake for all of it. he couldn't fall asleep without seeing you give birth. it was so beautiful to him.
- UGH HE WAS SO EMOTIONAL. you hadn't ever seen Porco cry until then and it made your heart so happy.
- he'd literally fall asleep with her in his arms <3.
- UGH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.
Colt Grice:
- okay this soft baby is always one to know when something feels off with you. he always has that gut feelings you know? it always bothers him until he asks you what's going on.
- you started feeling really sick and Colt being the giant baby he is, he got really scared and worried about you. he watched as you would run off to the toilet and vomit whatever you ate, he thought you had food poisoning. he noticed how exhausted you were, mans was so scared for your safety.
- like Porco, Colt is an over thinker. he legit thought you had some disease.
- one night he decided to just scoop you up and take you to the doctor. he couldn't handle watching you randomly vomit or almost pass out, he was scared one day you'd get even sicker, so he took you in.
- the doctors were concerned after hearing your symptoms, so they ran some tests. the tests revealed you were pregnant.
- Colt was shocked as shit, but he was so fucking excited and happy. he literally almost fainted from hearing the news, he wanted to have a baby with you for a pretty long time. he was open to your options though, but in the end you both agreed to keeping it.
- Colt is very reassuring, especially in this scenario. he reminds you that he will be here every step of the way and he isn't going anywhere. this is a process you'll be taking together, not just you.
- this baby will do anything he needs to do to keep you both safe. he holds your hand a little tighter when you're out and about, or he'll keep his hand on your small bump. he became protective overnight.
- he actually manages your symptoms pretty well, he'll make sure he has water ready for you after you throw up or he'll make you something to eat that'll ease your stomach. he keeps up with the weird cravings or the mood swings. Colt does a lot to make sure you're okay and comfortable.
- he is obsessed with the bump, he loves pressing kisses against it 🥺❤.
- Colt wants a boy so bad, he wants to teach the little boy everything. HE JUST LOVES THE IDEA OF A SON. after heading to your ultra sound, you told him he was getting a son and he lost it. he was so excited.
- he would probably have Falco come over and watch you 😭, yes a 12 year old. Falco keeps you entertained and he asks you about the baby a lot plus he knows what to do in case of an emergency.
- Colt would be very comforting, he understands completely how some days you can feel irritable so he tries his best to make you feel better. he'll run relaxing baths for you, kiss wherever you feel sore, etc. mans is really built to take care of you while you're pregnant.
- his family was absolutely ecstatic when they found out. Colt actually had some background knowledge about babies, his mom was pregnant with Falco after all. he kind of picked up on a few things as a kid, so expect him to know what he's doing. his mom was very supportive and helpful too.
- Colt is a damn handy man, he knows how to build a nursery. he basically told you to not worry about a damn thing and to go relax. when you came back the nursery was so pretty and adorable, you fell in love with it.
- when your water broke this man freaked the fuck out, he was in panic mode.
- Colt was freaking out at the hospital, he literally couldn't keep calm. he paced around the waiting room, Falco had to literally force this man to sit down and relax.
- seeing how much pain you were in broke his damn heart, he tried his best to calm you down and male you feel at least somewhat comfortable. he assured you this would be over soon and it'll all be worth it to see your baby.
- when you finally gave birth, he was astonished. he thought birth was such a beautiful thing and watching it made him so happy.
- he was such a sucker for this little boy, when he held him for the first time he was so overcome with emotion. he fell in love on the spot and literally kept him all to himself 😭.
- he is the perfect dad ugh.
Zeke Jaeger:
- Zeke has a serious breeding kink so you've definitely have had some pregnancy scares in the past. nothing he isn't used to, the tests usually came back negative anyway.
- you became really sick over a course of two weeks and it was extremely out of the ordinary for Zeke. he noticed how you slept in a lot longer, your eating habits changed due to your vomiting, you had to pee a lot more than usual. the #1 thing he noticed was your period had oddly been late. he thought you were you were seriously sick.
- mans was scared okay?
- that's when it dawned on him that all your symptoms were involved with pregnancy. he realized the timeline when you both had sex and when you got pregnant lined up perfectly. Zeke decided to get you a pregnancy test, he told you he felt like it was the best option.
- you took the test nervously and it eventually came back positive.
- you told Zeke and he was shocked, he was so excited for this new chapter. he was literally on board for anything you wanted to do.
- Zeke would come to every ultrasound, he assured you that he was going to be by your side for everything. he got you anything you needed, mans would rush out the damn door to get you anything you asked for.
- he takes care of you pretty much whenever he can, if you were feeling sick he'd stay in bed with you until you were feeling ready to get up. he'll cuddle up with you all day if he has to. mans is also very protective and defensive over you, if anyone is giving you some weird side eye he'll literally protect you with his damn life lmao.
- Zeke manages with your symptoms pretty well, he hates watching you throw up. he knows how uncomfortable it can be for you and he always holds your hair back, or he'll have something prepared for you to ease your stomach. he hates the mood swings the most 😭, he also hates when you get up 500 times to piss. he makes fun of you all the time.
- don't even get me started on the bump, he loves it. sometimes he'll poke it randomly and start laughing.
- Zeke wants a girl so bad. he literally loves the idea of having a daughter, but he didn't get it. you told him after your recent ultrasound you were having a boy. he was a little disappointed, but he was still happy. he gets to teach the little man how to play baseball <3.
- Pieck comes over when Zeke isn't around to check in. he is always really worried about you, so whenever he gets that gut feeling he'll send Pieck right over to make sure you're fine and that she can tell Zeke everything is cool.
- like i said earlier, he's very comforting. he knows how to take care of you especially on your bad days.
- his family is really happy for you both, his mom helped you a ton with the whole process. Zeke is a bit older so he kind of knew a bit about babies since Eren is his step-brother. he picked up on some shit when Carla was pregnant, even then his family gave you tons of advice.
- Zeke had no clue how to make a nursery, he had to call up his god damn dad for help 😭. Grisha was absolutely in for it, and he did exactly that. the two spent hours building the nursery and it came out really well.
- into pregnancy sex.
- when your water broke, holy shit it was like hell on Earth. Zeke didn't even know it popped since you were out and about when it happened.
- he actually was pretty calm, he wasn't freaking out or running around like a mad man. he was very chill and relaxed waiting for the doctors to come and let him in the delivery room.
- seeing you screaming in pain was hard for him to hear, you were struggling and there wasn't much he could do. of course he'd hold your hand and remind you that you're going to be okay, even if you screamed at him telling him to shut the hell up 😭. Zeke was like 😀.
- when you gave birth, oh wow he was so shocked seeing how a vagina can push out a baby.
- when he held his newborn son he was so happy, he almost cried but he felt so proud. he literally was in love with his son and he couldn't be happier.
- PERFECT DAD YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND.

My opinion on bnha 329:
You can check in here my opinion about chapter 328, if you want the context.
I'm glad Horikoshi solved many of the things I pointed out last week. And I'm glad that I'm correctly reading into the manga, at least at some extent.
Let's see what we got this week: (long post)
After a long building up of relating Spinner to common citizens, mutants, people with weaker quirks and in general, the audience or the general public, we finally see this being explicitly acknowledged. He's on the end of his arc now, because the people picked him as their voice.
The last point is really important because Spinner now has great power. This is a direct parallel to the way Uraraka took control of the megaphone and spoke for the heroes. Now, it's Spinner's turn to speak for the villains, but because people wants him to do so.
On another note, we got an amazing graphic parallel of Stain and Spinner. While Stain is in shadows, Spinner is bright. And unlike Stain, Spinner has been chosen by the public. He was not there to be a leader, but people recognize him as one. This is very interesting because it shows how much Spinner has grown and how he is his own character, with his own achievements.
We saw Dabi back in a forest. This is a direct parallel to the way he stopped being Touya and got to be Dabi. It's a graphic reminder that we're getting the end of his arc with the Todorokis. What is his last step? We know he has his own plans and we know he wants to make Endeavor suffer, so could he be on a solo mission to achieve his vengeful desires? In which forest is Dabi? Are we're going to get more flashbacks? Are we going to see him back at Sekoto Peak?
Please note that when they mention Toga, it's exactly the way Curious wanted it. Toga is in front of a black background. She's being inserted on a narrative by force and not by choice, because someone else is putting her there. Alternatively, the white background tells us Toga's arc is still lacking definition and scenario for its end. Her fate is yet to be defined.
There's A LOT to say about AFO. Please look how the League of Villains is broken. AFO is using them as puppets. When referring to Spinner, he talks about him like he's a "bodyguard", not an equal or a friend like Tomura used to do. AFO clearly doesn't care about them and he won't stop to consider what they want, unlike Tomura. He has his own things to do and anything else must be forgotten and put aside.
AFO is still hiding behind Tomura. Please note how Tomura is treated like any other nomu. AFO took the throne of the king (Tomura) and made Tomura into a war dog.
Now, I've written some meta before about how Tomura never had an own identity until he met the League. Kotaro denied Tomura being himself, so much that the hand of Kotaro was still making Tomura faceless long after Kotaro's dead.
After Kotaro, AFO took away Tenko Shimura and imposed a new identity: Shigaraki Tomura. Please note that Shigaraki is AFO username, which means that even back then AFO was planning on using Tomura as an extention of AFO himself. And by naming him Tomura he pressured the kid to never forget his anger and sadness, caused by the tragedy of his family. It was AFO who repressed further the kid, all the hands being a physical reminder of such act. The hands were covering his entire face and because Tomura was unable to touch, he was only able to listen, just like the nomus. That's why Tomura scratches his neck so much. He itches for having an own voice, an own personality, an own identity.
If you pay attention to the panels in bnha 329, you can see how Tomura is wearing both a suit that resembles AFO's clothes and a cloak that resembles the one AFO was using on the world where Deku could see the vestiges. Tomura even has the white hair like AFO now. His pose and clothes are a direct parallel to Deku, but in a way AFO is a parallel to OFA.
Tomura has been stripped away of everything that made him himself. He doesn't have the hands, he doesn't have his clothes, people calls him AFO now, he doesn't even have his friends around. He's alone, a weapon and nothing more. I wrote another meta about how Tomura had no identity analyzing a panel from bnha 328. This is the direct consequence of that.
But this is not a separate case. It is pretty normal, in fact. When a system fails, when an entire country dives on a crisis, it's normal for everyone to question their place in that society and their identities.
Deku had an identity crisis and his friends for UA needed to rescue him and reminded him who he was. Toshinori had a crisis and Stain needed to helped him with it. Uraraka questioned too her identity as a hero and from there her speech above UA was born. Endeavor got a crisis, Shoto got a crisis, Toga needs to decide as much as Spinner does who do they want to be, Dabi is facing his old identity and his new identity conflicts...
This is actually pretty good. The narrative around heroes and villains are being questioned.
Who am I and why am I that person?
Do I need to be that person?
What is my role in society? Why?
What are my goals and why? Are they worth all the consequences?
Do I like the identity of my society? If not, can I change it? Can I change all the things before?
Bnha inner universe is walking towards a redefinition. What is a hero, what is a villain, who are they, why they are heroes or villains, etc. These characters were forced into certain roles or they assumed they needed to play those roles, according to what society told them. And now, they are free to decide. Time and time again, in every journey of any hero, the problems of the identity and the self vs the others is vital, and it shows through the decision making system.
On a final note, I'm a little sad that Horikoshi made a female version of All Might to fight Tomura, instead of giving her a more original character design in general. Women in the bnha universe tend to be seen as replacements of previous existent characters, or they are used quickly to further the plot and get forgotten. They deserve a better treatment, being honest.
The kids will get there rest time, because not all the cards are on the table yet. I love that it's the turn of the villains to play, because the final result of the next battles are going to be partially determined by what the members of the League of Villains decide to do.
Spinner will probably betray AFO, because he's not loyal to AFO's ideals but to his own ideas.
Dabi has his own thing going and he's also going to get rescued by the Todorokis. I really want to see Hawks, Endeavor, Shoto and Dabi all in a same fight, because parallels are going to fly around and I bet we're going to found out more about Dabi's heart.
I think Toga is still going to interact with the UA kids and help them somehow. I hope she gets to talk to Deku and make some good friends.
And for Tomura... He needs someone to reach for him. He has lost himself. His determination is gone, the sparks in his eyes, his fire. He needs a reason to fight, a reason to believe. He needs someone to believe in him, someone to call out his name and make him exists. He needs someone to see him. He's the same lost boy who walked on the streets asking for someone to rescue him. He's the same kid that asked for someone to believe he could be a hero. If Deku gives him that, if All Might helps him too, if the League is there to show them their loyalty, Tomura will be able to snap out of AFO's control and break free.
Nothing like a good villain chapter to make me excited about the future chapters. Let's wait and see.

Abuse of Children Portrayed in Film
I like to use movies as an escape from the harshness of the real world and one of the things that I have learned about in my education is the effects on children when they are mistreated. I have a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology and one of the hardest classes for me to handle was Abnormal Development in Children and Adolescents. We covered everything from dealing with dyslexia and ADHD to surviving severe abuse and loss at a very early age. We had guest speakers that ranged from people who had escaped genocide as children, to individuals who had been sold into prostitution by their parents, to people who had suffered severe abuse from their parents or guardian. I have heard stories that will stick with me forever and that is nightmare fuel that I don't want to share.
Because of my background education, I take note of the treatment and behavior of children and adolescents in the movies that I watch. There have been many great movies over the years that have depicted the suffering of children and it has always been difficult for me to deal with. There are more well known examples of films that focus on suffering but throw in more of a "sometimes we all suffer, even the children" message that demonstrate that kids aren't immune to great travesties (basically any film about The Holocaust). There are also well known films that show children "coming of age" through hardship (Annie 1982, Oliver! 1968) but end perfectly. There is a more current series of films that focuses entirely on a boy discovering a fantasy world that was robbed from him when his parents were murdered by a tyrant (Harry Potter series). But in this list I want to review some lesser known films that show examples of abuse. Even after all that I have seen and heard, the following list of films have affected me personally for one reason or another. Sometimes the children in these films endure and overcome their situation in the end. Sometimes these children do not survive or sadly remain in their misfortunes. To me, this can make the movie all the more powerful because of the incredible amount of pathos that endangering a child character can add. It can also make it a heart wrenching experience that is painful to watch. Here are some powerful films in which children suffer and the struggle is one of the main plot lines of the movie:
SPOILER WARNING AND VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISORY!!! I AM GOING TO GIVE AWAY THE PLOT TO THESE FILMS AND IT SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING THAT SOME OF THE PLOTS ARE DISTURBING!!! EITHER WATCH THE FILM IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS OR CHECK OUT THE FOLLOWING SUMMARIES IF YOU WOULD RATHER JUST HEAR WHAT HAPPENS SO YOU KNOW IF YOU WANT TO WATCH OR NOT!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sybil (TV Movie) 1976
I just recently saw this film after I had heard of the story in my abnormal development class almost 10 years ago. It is the story of a woman who developed multiple personalities to deal with a childhood in the care of an undiagnosed schizophrenic mother. The movie stars Sally Fields and is based on a true account of Shirley Ardell Mason and her treatment by psychologist Cornelia Wilbur. The acting in the film is overdramatic at times, but it definitely reminded me of some of the actual old videos of Shirley Mason and her sudden strange switches in personality when she was scared or anxious. Dr. Wilbur used hypnosis to actually introduce Mason to her alternate personalities and she was able to recognize her disassociative identity disorder and overcome it. It still hurts me to think that this person was mentally wounded so deeply by her parents that it basically shattered her into pieces in an effort to make sense of things.
Leon: The Professional 1994
I mention this film a lot because it is a heartwarming story of an assassin teaching a young orphan how to murder. It is the breakout role for Natalie Portman and it is just amazing. Leon is a "cleaner" that lives next door to an abusive and addictive family with a troubled girl named Mathilda. The father gets in trouble with the mob and some enforcers come by and slaughter most of the family while Mathilda is getting groceries. She returns during the massacre and realizes what is happening so continues next door and pleads for shelter. Leon takes her in and teachers her the trade and protects her from the men who want to finish her off. The movie was written and directed by Luc Besson and stars Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, and Natalie Portman. The suffering that this girl endures because of her parent's addictions hurts me, yet I have seen and enjoyed this film many times. I recommend watching when in the mood to be deeply affected by the trials of a little girl and the killer who protected her.
Kids 1995
This film came out when I was early in high school and bothered me greatly. It is a story by Harmony Korine, and one of his many attempts to capture the hopeless lives of unmotivated and unsupervised teens. These are young teens having unprotected sex, stealing money to do drugs, and attacking people in the park. I did not really go to these kinds of parties when I was that age (or ever really) and it has bothered me to think that adolescents would partake in this kind of behavior. It is hard for me to believe that these kids had the ability to mentally comprehend the consequences of their actions and some of the characters end up contracting HIV from each other. I would not recommend the film because it is a depressing day in the life that no youth should have.
Gummo 1997
I would not call this a good movie and I wouldn't really recommend it. It is another work by Harmony Korine and really details the depravity that can occur with unsupervised youths living in low socio-economic conditions. This movie is just depressing and motivated me to find something to motivate me into action. I got into both psychology and teaching, which has served me well for the past 20 years. It was this film that showed me how low the bar for quality of life could be, and I guess for that I am thankful. However, I still wouldn't recommend it.
Happiness 1998
This movie I didn't see right away but noticed it at the video store on many occasions. I final watched it when I was about 25 on the recommendation of a friend and one particular storyline greatly disturbed me. It is basically the story of 3 sisters that feel they should be happy and project a face of happiness, yet they are miserable and have horrible lives. One sister in particular is married to a psychiatrist who turns out to be a pedophile that rapes the friends of his young son. At one point rather early on in the movie, this man confesses to his son that he raped the boy's friends and that he would do it again. The son is so confused that he asks his father why he never raped him. It is so disturbing to me because I know the boys that were assaulted will be forever damaged and this boy who was not actually raped will be mentally scarred as well. The fact that there are people in the world that would harm children that way, recognize what they had done, and then know they didn't have the self control to stop themselves from doing it again is horrifying to me.
Lilya 4-Ever 2002
This film is deeply disturbing and I highly recommend never watching it. I will spoil it for you now so you never have to see it if you don't want. A 16-year-old girl named Lilya lives with her mother. The mom gets a boyfriend and the couple move to America and abandons Lilya with a neglectful aunt. The aunt movies into the old apartment of her sister and Lilya is forced to move out and become a prostitute to make money. A boy comes along and convinces her to move to Sweden to escape her life. When they arrive, this boy sells her to a pimp and she becomes a teenage sex slave. She almost escapes, but is then captured and beaten almost to death. She escapes again and this time commits suicide so she won't be recaptured. This movie is awful and changed my mind about giving every film a chance. I wish I could forget this film, but I can't. Perhaps it is just not for me, but this film presentation is definitely an experience that you won't soon forget.
The Kite Runner 2007
I read this book in my twenties and saw the film in my thirties and both affected me greatly. A well-to-do boy and his friend are in a kite battle competition and the friend is beaten and raped when he goes to retrieve a fallen kite. The well-to-do boy denies knowing what happened to his friend (he does know) and basically shames and abandons him. This action haunts the well-to-do boy for the rest of his life. How the boy who was raped is basically falling prey to blaming the victim is heartbreaking, and the lifetime of guilt of the other boy is pitiable. Neither boy was the actual attacker yet they both were the ones that suffered.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many other examples of movies along these lines and could be found if you feel like suffering. I can't say that I would recommend them because they are very difficult to watch. Beyond just dealing with the content, it is rare to find child actors who can actually portray somebody who has truly suffered. The mix of bad acting and a depressing plot can make for a terrible movie going experience. The genre of movie involving suffering does exist, though, and it could be enjoyed (?) by some. Just not generally by me.

Hey so this thought has been on my mind for like ages and I think that you'd be able to write a headcanon about it in a wonderful way, so I'm presenting this idea to you hehe ( I love ur blog so so so much btw!)
So let's say that whatever miracles of seven happened, that Yuu overblots. Being constantly pushed around by other students by being magicless, solving the idiot trio's problems, trying to survive overblots and dealing with Crowley's neglectful ass cheeks sure is not easy. With all the piled and bottled up negative emotions, Yuu like the previous boys, overblots. Yuu wasn't that hard to defeat cuz you know, they're magicless, but the twst boys did struggle and Yuu's quite the challenge too. So what if, after Yuu's overblot, they had a full on mental breakdown. Not like crying mental breakdown, they're full on SCREAMING, their voice are cracking too, and very painful to hear. They started to unconsciously harm themselves so they have to be tied down to prevent to hurt themselves further. How would the dormleaders react to that?
(Sorry for my English and if I ever break a rule, it's OK if you decide to not do this too. Btw I got this idea when I watch ATLA aka Aang the last airbender, for reference of the breakdown of Yuu just search "Azula's breakdown" that practically how their breakdown looked like :D)
I cant write headcanons because you basically wrote everything. I will just make comments and additions to this. first I mention the background, secondly Azula’s breakdown so non ATLA watchers can understand a little and lastly, MC having breakdown like Azula. For the record, I could write about ATLA for pages since it is something I love since 2005. LOL This became a bit meta xd
You can join the discord server here 😉🤣
Firstly, the back ground:
I was 7 years old when ATLA started airing. I’d be excited to get back home to watch ATLA after school. Azula’s breakdown was awful back then when I first watch it as a kid. And of course, when they aired the episodes again and again. I rewatched again because I remembered the show being dope when I was in 12th grade which was stress relief while studying for university exams, and then I rewatched last year and even founded a Zutara server. Now I’m getting back to the point. In the last two rewatching, I saw Azula in a different light and her breakdown at the end of the show was understandable. I can recommend some ATLA meta that you might like.
Secondly, Azula’s breakdown:
Azula lost everything. In the flashbacks, you saw she was getting along with Zuko, laughing and playing tag until Ozai’s influence on her grew while Ursa showed more affection towards Zuko since Ozai basically hated Zuko. These two triggered each other and it grew like snowball effect which came to the point that Ozai-Azula and Ursa-Zuko. She didn’t get love from Ozai, she was just a puppet, someone to empower him more, not his daughter meanwhile to Ursa, she was a monster. Azula was 8 years old Ursa disappeared. Imagine how this would affect the child. After this, she had estranged brother that she was jealous of because of Ursa’s love, a father who manipulated her, and an uncle who was too in pain to do anything and he was more focused on Zuko. She only had Mai and Ty Lee as “friends” but it was toxic and Azula used fear to control them. After Zuko got banished, Mai and Ty Lee went to their own places, leaving Azula alone with Ozai. Just when Zuko got back, she was being like the last times, cruel teasing, Mai and Ty Lee with her. Later, Zuko went away and probably got lectured by Ozai for her lie. Mai and Ty Lee stood against her. In the end, she had no one. Ozai didn’t want her with him either because he only wants power. Being alone drew her to the edge. In the Royal Hair Washing, the girl sje fired had her face. Her self hatred was palpable. She started to reflect this via Ursa, the mother who thought her as monster and didn’t love her like she did Zuko. I believe she would have had breakdown if she actually killed Zuko. At the end, she couldn’t handle it anymore. Being all alone, not being loved, self hatred and finally failing at something which is something she knows Ozai would never tolerate like he did with Zuko. This 14-year-old wouldn’t be able to handle it anymore and had breakdown.
Now last section, MC having breakdown like Azula’s:
Let’s see the things MC went through:
Stripped away from home
Doesn’t have much memory of it
Is thrusted into a world so foreign to them, where everything is foreign to them. There is no familiar thing that can make them recall home or feel at home
Is forced to study things that they have no prior info where the others have prior info and they are expected to ace the tests. This puts on pressure on regular students, can’t imagine the pressure they would feel since they barely understand the magic.
Is treated like trash by everyone at least once. From the first moment they came to Twisted Wonderland, they were like dirtbag. Dire gave them a house where they could get Hepatitis A to C, tetanus, hypothermia and any other disease. They have lived in that state for months and the house barely got fixed by the end of exams. They got belittled or used by almost all characters at least once. Examples: Vil calling them nobody; Azul trying to take the only thing they have from them, the dorm; Riddle calling them uneducated because not having magical parents; Leona acting like they are a toy in E2; Jamil literally manipulating their choice; sometimes NPC characters talked; Cater making them do his work etc.
They are given more than a person should handle. They are not certificated psychologist, they aren’t superhuman, they don’t have super healing... They are just human but has to fight enemies than can easily kill them if it were not the magic users around them. They are given the task of dealing with the emotional breakdown of the other people.
All of these are building up more and more. Maybe they started to get along with people after the belittlement and being used but every new character does this. At one point, it will be too much and they will think “they are only nice to me because I did a favor to them. If not for that, they wouldn’t be nice to me” which would lead to self doubt. When one starts doubting themselves, everything else starts to go down. Also, new characters treating them that way adds salt to the wound.
MC isn’t a professional psychologist. They can’t handle other people’s issues without taking a toll at themselves. They don’t even catch a break between everything.
Dire is deliberately keeping them away from home as they all do the errands he say. To him, what MC wants doesn’t matter much. The game doesn’t show but if MC has family and friends or pets, you can’t tell me that they wouldn’t miss them once or see, hug them or know their state, alive-dead, healthy-sick etc.
Lastly not being invincible. The end of Episode 5 shows this well. They couldn’t stand against Grim who isn’t as powerful as the other overblot characters. They are mortal who can get hurt easily.
Now all these build up meanwhile we don’t see an MC centered chapter, how they are etc. It’s all about the others. Maybe there were a few chapters asking if MC is okay after everything but it feels like it is in the second plan.
Everything that I mentioned can lead to a breakdown like Azula’s. Everything is just too much to handle and they don’t talk with a professional about it. When they finally let out everything, it feels much better, screaming out their lungs, lashing out like all of them did. They are finally letting out all of their emotions, crying and screaming; yet still feels better than bottling everything up. They think maybe that’s how overblot characters felt.
All in all, everyone in NRC needs a counselor.
