Look, I don’t mind that MHA ended without confirming IzuOcha canon even as an IzuOcha shipper since I’m well past the stage where I care about my ships being canon or endgame, but I don’t get this whole sentiment I’ve seen of “I’m happy IzuOcha didn’t become canon because otherwise Ochaco would’ve been reduced to Izuku’s housewife!” What makes you think that Uraraka would have to be a housewife if she married Deku? There are plenty of Pro Hero wives and mothers in MHA. Just because some other shonen series that had married epilogues did that to the girls doesn’t automatically mean MHA was bound to follow suit.

I’ve even seen accusations that those who are disappointed in Izuocha not being confirmed are just jerks who want Uraraka to be a housewife which I think is a strawman. “Oh but look at this rando tweet/post from a user with 10 followers with little to no engagement saying that!” those are a few and far between, your average IzuOcha shipper doesn’t think Uraraka should be a housewife. So much IzuOcha content is them being pros together, including the domestic fan content where they’re married with kids.

Analyzing vol 1 and vol 42: the story of mha told through covers

The pro heros were always seen as celebrities or god like figures that were playing a part on a stage. In volume 1, all the heros are in red, not shown fully to the viewers, their costumes are the main things that stand out. They look like they are taken straight out a comic book page. Whereas, in volume 42, they are all smiling and can be fully seen. Their faces are what is the most emphasized. After the war, heros are finally humanized and seen as actual people outside of their hero work. They aren’t put on a pedestal anymore.

The last manga cover is symbolic that Izukus dream to become a quirkless hero was made possible. Deku is the first quirkless UA teacher and later the first quirkless pro hero. That was all made possible by class 1A and shows that they were finally able to make a better hero society where people can feel safe with or without a quirk. Dai being on the cover shows Izuku inspiring the next generation like all might did but this time as a reachable hero instead of an unreachable symbol.
