the smoothie method!
sorry, long post!
so i created this method, and its called ā€˜smoothie methodā€™ because you mix together everything that you like/is good for you as you would fruits and veggies for a smoothie. so of course this method would be different for everyone.
i personally favour the raven method, alice in wonderland method, and void state method, five senses, give up and sleep. so i would do the following. this may or may not also work for you.
i usually will put on some white/pink/brown noise or theta waves in the background as well as a guided method for the void state (or sometimes get into the void state myself) before doing the following. (tip : if you have a tv in your room you can use that instead of a device, as they usually have an automatic turn off after a time you set. set it to turn off at the time you want it to. or use an app/website/other that has no ads (eg spotify premium, mp3 files, apple music, etc.)
visualize yourself by a tree (use all five senses), visualize a character/person from your dr running by. imagine the feeling you would feel (confusion, intrigue?) visualize yourself getting up and running after this character. then you fall down a rabbit hole (visualize this well enough and you will physically feel like your free falling). you then land in a large circular room with many doors and a table in the centre with a key. look around. which door looks like it would lead to your dr? take the key and open that door. what do you see? what do you smell, hear, feel? visualize very well. step through this door now. the character is there, taking your hand and leading you towards a house/castle/etc in this reality. you find yourself in bed as your dr self now. (alice in wonderland + five senses)
now that your in bed as your dr self, begin the raven method as you normally would. only now you are in your dr. do you feel your sheets? hear your family members of your or in the background? no you dont. its all part of your dr. begin counting, and each 10th number (or 20th, maybe odd numbers, whatever works) state an affirmation. remember to visualize everything as well, this is very important. once you reach a certain point where you begin to feel tired, turn over and give up. continue to think as your dr self. what did you do today? what did you eat? what will you do tomorrow? anything your stressed over? imagine these feelings and thoughts vividly. you are in your dr, so your thoughts will be of your dr. either allow yourself to drift off, or stay awake until you naturally open your eyes (donā€™t force them, and make sure to script that your eyes open once youā€™ve shifted if you want) (raven + give up and sleep)
once you have shifted, make sure to ground yourself. use all your senses, donā€™t get up until you arenā€™t as overwhelmed/excited as this will sometimes bring you back to your dr (of course this is different for everyone, so you might not need to ground yourself)
if anyone wants specific methods put together just comment and iā€™ll get to it as soon as i can.
anyway thats all! enjoy and good luck!

DO I NEED TO TRY THE FUCKING ALICE IN WONDERLAND METHOD OR WHAT, HIGHER SELF?!
Okay....weird....my tiktok feed was legitimately filled with the Alice in Wonderland 'Alice' theme...a solid 3 vids in a row and then every other vid for a solid 10 minutes was the Alice theme.
Then there was a tiktok about following the white rabbit...."it is not 'if' i'll follow the white rabbit but 'when'"...okay, i get it damn
Tumblr media
Important to note that i haven't interacted with anything alice/disney/fairytale/gothic/shifting related at all...coincidence?

Speaking of other things, when I was younger I had Alice In Wonderland Syndrome. (Not trying to be that person but you gotta look it up bc I canā€™t explain things very well šŸ™ƒ) Crazy things as a child.

Yes, this is a new account, I just made this. I don't care if people question the authenticity of my post, my experience as a shifter, or whatever I'm about to say.
I don't know how to use Tumblr, nor do I know how to make my post reach people who need it, nor would I be a narcissist and say "you're lucky if you found my post!" I don't mind if this reaches an audience or not, I'm glad to get everything off my chest.
Yes. I've shifted.
I have shifted realities, more times than I can count on my fingers, and that is for a very specific reason, which I'll explain later.
I'm writing this because I'm about to permashift, and no, I won't hear out any antishifters or people who don't like permashifting in general, I don't care about your opinion so don't waste my time.
Before I start, I'd like to say one thing:
I was irrational minded, I lacked belief in myself and shifting. Shifting often times felt like a chore more than a fun activity, and i have to admit, it became an unhealthy habit.
So? Why did I mention this?
Because I had been lurking around shifting communities and I realised everyone feels like this, a very (mentally) painful feeling where the lack of shifts starts acting as your biggest enemy, and the phrase:
"Shifting needs practice!"
Sounds like poison when it comes from an experienced shifter.
Though, is the phrase actually true?
No, not at all.
Shifting does not need practice!!
Here's why:
(BTW, I will explain my "method", no matter if I have time or not. Also, I don't call this reality "Current Reality", instead I call it Void reality, so don't get confused.)
The "practice" you're doing is only affecting your void reality (taking time out of your day, making you constantly think you're in your learning phase, so it doesn't exactly lead to your desired reality, does it?)
Of course, if you view it as a skill, it will in some way act like that, it'll become a skill for you, and you can never succeed on your first, second, third, hundredth try, because in your brain you have registered the fact that shifting is this grand, universal task, and that it is very difficult (because its common sense that you practice difficult things to get good at them)
Practice is a very humane and earthly act, if people have succeeded doing just practice, then good for then, they're right in their own way, but it didn't work for me, and in my opinion it's the worst way to view shifting, and often times it is demotivating, and you'll mess up you're entire journey.
Shifting is not a skill, shifting is a universal law.
I'll become more clear as I explain my journey:
My journey:
I found shifting from a random YouTube video 3 years ago. I might have only said cool and moved along.
A year later something traumatic happened in my life, which shook me so badly I needed an escape.
First of all, I chose astral projecting, but I realised I was too much of a coward to do so.
Then I came towards shifting, first DR was very typical, it was Hogwarts.
Having no knowledge whatsoever in the topics of spirituality, meditation, I went straight to methods, because they were like guides for me, I was very inexperienced, of course, and looked at other people and what they were doing for guidance.
Alice in wonderland method didn't do much, raven method was too uncomfortable (side note, all this raven method does is make you too focused on your void reality, cmon, in your DR are you laying down like a starfish?) And I was having terrible trouble with my intrusive thoughts (which made the floor disappear from under my feet, made the stairs for the stairs method too short to climb or straight up made them dissappear as well)
I didn't have any luck that year, no mini shifts, no lucid dreams, or sleep paralysis. And my DRs never remained constant. They always changed on a daily basis.
I was big on methods, I couldn't realize they never worked for me.
Although, this year of failure led me to finally figure out where I belonged.
A DR made out of scratch, which I spend much effort in putting the pieces of it together.
The DR, which was called "Home reality" really made me feel settled in my journey.
LOA, and the consciousness theory were the leading factors which made me shift.
And don't worry, it isn't what you're tired of being told, I didn't just apply any orthodox definition of LOA and succeeded.
Background to my first shift:
It was a particularly stressful day, I really missed my home.
I was studying at my college (I still am, but...) and I was dreading giving a chemistry test, I did not prepare. In my mind, one thing was constantly looping in my head.
The scenario of the chemistry teacher coming in, and taking the test, and the next day I get it handed back with a big fat zero.
But then I stopped and wondered, having already known about the consciousness theory, so according to it:
"I am constantly letting this thought run in my mind, and constantly letting this reality dictate what happens next."
Basically, I realized what was about to happen next was indirectly in my control, but with my line of thinking, I was letting this reality control it directly.
I stopped, like actually stopped thinking.
And with a blank mind I thought.
"I won't have to take any test today."
And went around telling my classmates this with a confident tone.
The teacher came in, said we'll instead do some practicals in lab.
So the test got cancelled.
Going home, I got excited, i felt powerful.
I decided to apply this to shifting.
Before shifting, I took a nap during the day, (if you're tired your body insists on sleeping, so your mind will get hazy and you will start acting lazy towards your goal)
And after living how I normally would, before bedtime, I listened to some songs, and look at a Pinterest board which reminded me of my home reality.
My method and what happened next:
First phase of shifting:
When I laid down on the bed to start shifting, I first got comfy (for me, if I feel sleepy for some reason, I laid on my back, I can't fall asleep in that position, but if I think ill stay awake until I reach a "detached state" then I sleep on my side, it's comfortable)
I obviously wasn't checking the time, but I spent about 10 minutes getting relaxed, all I do to relax is:
a) look at the blackness (closed eyes, looks like starry skies) and try to believe I'm looking at the milky way.
b) think about my home reality, just faces of my loved ones, and nostalgia inducing images.
c) Affirm, but don't focus entirely on affirming, usually in the back of my mind I'm repeating "I have shifted to my home reality" "I have shifted my senses to my home reality" "I have stopped sensing the void reality" "I am smelling, tasting, feeling, hearing and seeing my home reality" no other fancy affirmations required. (Now that I think about it, you need to affirm NOW because this method has two phases, one where you are shifting, and one where you have shifted, and you are in the 3D, where you are occupying your DR self, their thoughts, and memories, and popular method usually only have one phase, either you are shifting, or have shifted. So my point is if you affirm later and you'll be affirming when you're supposed to be in your DR, and obviously, your DR self won't be spouting out affirmations about shifting to a random reality for no reason.)
During this time, you'll feel tingly all over. It's a good sign.
And you'll feel a certain detachment, like you aren't exactly here, you have no idea what position you're lying in, and where your feet are. (Please, for the love of God do not start counting your feet or get freaked out that you can't feel your leg, you'll come back to the void reality.)
So you can start the next phase.
Middle phase (optional):
To prepare for the next and last phase, you can do this to get ready, or don't (First read the third phase)
This is all about connection to your DR.
Think about memories from your DR, focus on the faces of your loved ones, the way you act, talk, your mannerisms in your DR, or you can simply say affirmations like these one:
My name is ___.
I work as a ___.
My age is ___.
Don't try to imagine vividly or anything, lightly touch upon the basic details of your DR, the construction and foundation of any reality and the person, who has existed there for their entire life.
(That's you!)
Phase three:
Take a sudden, abrupt stop from your stream of thoughts. (Yes intrusive thoughts will still pop up but don't give any importance to them) when you're in a blank state of mind, not longer than 30 seconds, you need to build up to the last step of your shifting method, and journey.
a) start imagining hearing the voices of your loved ones or just any voice, calling your DR name, your nicknames, with different tones. (For example, i heard my name in an angry tone from my father when he was scolding me, I heard my name followed by a laughter when my S/O teased me.)
OK, for me, I started feeling intense, groundshaking symptoms at this moment. Sudden flashing of lights, extreme feeling of floating, and ofcourse, feeling tingliness so much that it felt like pins and needle on my entire body. (I did ignore the symptoms)
b) plan the rest of your day in your DR, which you will be spending.
AGAIN, PLEASE DON'T SAY IT LIKE THIS.
āŒļøWhen I reach my DR āŒļø I will have to go to that eye specialist for that appointment.
Instead: (and the more you personalize it, the better)
Ughhh, I have to go to that appointment- this day will suck.
(Don't mind my example, that was the only thing I could think of at the moment)
c) in this reality, you are constantly thinking of something, your thoughts are definitely what constructs this reality, and your current thoughts are affecting your subconscious. (By this point, your subconscious is grounded in your DR, so don't worry about that bastard.)
Now, you're going to start thinking, thoughts which are going on in your DR self's mind, start with one sentence, with which you'll be able to start consciously thinking like your DR self.
And think in the style, tone, and mood of your DR self, and keep the thoughts strictly related to your DR.
Thats it, but what happens afterwards? And what happened to me?
So for me, I started feeling weird while I was thinking.
And I remember I thought this:
"Ugh, I don't want eggs for breakfast."
(I'm not saying this is the key to shifting, at this point, I had covered various topics, including, weather, my upcoming work assignment, and praised my S/O for a good 5 minutes.)
And I started panting, like suddenly I was trying to catch my breath, the room felt bright, so I opened my eyes, and well, I was in my home reality :)
I was delirious for a few second, my S/O was looking at me worriedly, but surprisingly, it didn't even take me a minute to adjust, it felt all so natural and I wasn't scared.
I didn't even feel emotional, at all, and didn't hug my S/O with tears in my eyes, I straight up asked to be served breakfast, incase anyone was wondering.
So that's it.
Although i have much to say, I'm tired of writing, but I'm more than willing to answer each and every one of your questions, although I only have 7 hours left till I permashift, I'll remain mostly active till then.
And no, I'm not rereading this to fix my grammar, so just ask if anything confused you.
Ask away.
I'm still not sure if this'll reach anyone or not.

So, I just read It's Not Impossible: Healing from Ritual Abuse and Mind Control by Svali.
For those who don't know, Svali is a conspiracy theorist who popped up in the early 2000s claiming to be a former Illuminati/New World Order programmer. Her claims are based on the stuff put out by the likes of Mark Phillips/Cathy O'Brien and Fritz Springmeier/Cisco Wheeler, which in turn derives from stuff like The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, blood libel, witch panic, Michelle Remembers, and Alexander Hislop's anti-Catholic conspiracy theories. It's full of your typical Project Monarch psychological pseudoscience that can effectively be used to blame literally any symptom or behavior on programmed DID, whether or not someone actually has DID at all. It's got all the usual stuff about an alleged global cult that practices the most absurdly complicated, messy, and risky forms of mind control instead of just using the regular ol' indoctrination and manipulation tactics that work just fine for your more typical authoritarian assholes.
She is regarded as a ritual abuse/alter programming expert by people such as Ellen Lacter and Alison Miller, and if you search through the citations on many ritual abuse/RAMCOA websites, you'll often find her name. If you didn't have any familiarity with Svali's outlandish claims before, I think after reading this you'll agree that no sensible person should ever be citing her as an authority on anything. Here are some of the weird and ridiculous claims she makes in this book:
Fetuses are tortured and programmed in the womb. They are capable of making choices presented to them in-utero. (Yes, according to Svali, fetuses can fully understand language and process questions.)
Children can be forced to forget things by threatening them with death if they don't. (Literally not how memory works. If anything, death threats would make it harder to forget.)
Toddlers are trained as assassins and sent to kill wealthy targets, because wealthy people tend to have, shall we say, a predilection for children. (Yes, some wealthy people are child molesters. But claiming they're all into this as a group is absurd. It's also two antisemitic conspiracy theory tropes with the serial numbers filed off.)
Alice In Wonderland programming includes games of croquet where the balls are the decapitated heads of children. (Always with the absurdly over-the-top programming methods.)
The conspiracy programs people from birth to have a visceral fear and hatred of Christianity. (The function of this claim is to deny the traumatic impact of Christian religious abuse.)
"Many occultic groups" hate Israel and aim to destroy its national security through infiltration. (Of course we're going to get Christian Zionism in this conspiracy theory.)
"Higher occultic groups" round up Christians "from prisons and camps in third world countries under oppressive regimes" to torture and crucify them. (Typical oppression fantasy of white American Christian conservatives.)
Genetically enhanced individuals were first produced in the 1940s. (Quite unlikely, given that DNA's role in inheritance wasn't even determined until 1943.)
Claims that "The Light of The World" is an occultic painting that depicts the Antichrist. (Actually, it just depicts Christ.)
Theta systems are trained to psychically kill from the time they're in the womb. Theta assassins have sex with the target, then use the resulting soul tie to demonically kill them. (You know you're into some deep far right shit when they're talking about "soul ties" like this.)
Chi is a demonic power. (Always with the racism.)
Kabbalah is used to open portals to install demons. (And of course, the antisemitism.)
Druids can shapeshift into animals and trees. (This is how druids work in modern RPGs.)
Mages can shapeshift into various animals. (So many occultists WISH this was true!)
Cult children are genetically enhanced for intelligence. (Meanwhile in the real world, not a single alleged survivor has ever demonstrated said intelligence.)
Saturn, Prometheus, and Vulcan are demonic deities. (Pure religious bigotry here.)
Mothers of genetically enhanced fetuses are brutally tortured and gradually dismembered throughout the entire pregnancy. Supposedly, miscarriage is prevented with the cult's "state-of-the-art technology" that's "at least 50-75 years ahead of what's publicly known."
Supposedly, "all videos, CDs, computer games and other digital media now have subliminals embedded, that are fed at 0.03 microseconds." She claims that you can't pause the video to see the message because the images will be blurry, as they're only visible when the media moves. How very convenient, Svali. (By the way, conspiracy theorists have been claiming media is full of dangerous subliminal messages for years, programming children to turn into mass murderers and whatnot. So far there is zero evidence that rock music turns you into a killer.)
Direct quote, "It is amazing how desensitized our population has become to sex, violence and the occult due to this mind control technology that sits in everyone's living room." (Literally your old-time Satanic Panic rhetoric.)
Direct quote, "I personally believe that we are very close to the ā€œend timesā€ of Revelations, and that the Occultic messiah (or antichrist) is alive." (Always with the End Times mythology with these people.)
Yeah, so this is one of the people that therapists pushing this idea that alter programming is a real thing regard as an authority. They're citing a far right conspiracy theorist who claims toddler assassins are sent to kill wealthy targets and that druids can actually turn themselves into trees.
I'd like to reiterate here that the type of alter programming people like Svali claim exist is not something there was ever any real evidence for, and the whole idea originated among conspiracy theorists. This was not a case of something that actually existed just being co-opted by bad faith actors. It is very literally a witch hunt, and one way we know this is that the early modern mythology of satanic witches and today's mythology of alter programming use many of the exact same tropes. And we also know that people can be coached into confabulating memories of events that never took place (you can see very obvious examples of this yourself here and here).
None of this is to say that human trafficking, sex abuse, religious abuse, institutional abuse, and so on aren't real; they very much are. But the kind of stuff that people like Svali push is not, and it's so full of pseudoscience and far right bigotry that it will harm survivors of extreme abuse even more. The function of this mythology, and the quack psychiatry that goes along with it, is to push people into hyperconservative Christianity and scapegoat the religious trauma it causes.

Fuck! I was setting myself up for a great trip tonight. Bubble bath, a delightful green apple honey iced tea, an orb set to show a playlist of movies, and a small charcuterie board.
But apparently, the dipshits at the magic supply store swapped the magic mushrooms and the tragic mushrooms. Yet another reason that rhyming sorting methods suck.
So hear I am, soaking in a tub and crying because every movie I watch is so damn sad. šŸ˜ Why did Dorothy have to kill that witch? šŸ˜ Why did everyone have to be mean to Alice when she just got to Wonderland? šŸ˜ And why did Mr. Bean always get hurt so much when he just wanted to be a goofy Englishman?

THE DOROTHY METHOD
so, iā€™m not sure if anyone has already come up with this, so i apologize if they have! iā€™m not trying to steal anything from anyone, i just randomly thought of this lol.
so, with the wicked movie recently coming out, i was also thinking about the wizard of oz (which is a ā€˜shiftingā€™ movie to me lol) and i was thinking. we have an alice in wonderland method. do we have a dorothy method?
and soooo here it is!
iā€™ve never really come up with/written out a method lol so if anyone would like to re-write this in a better way please feel free šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
šŸ©µšŸ•šŸ§ŗ
as you lay down and close your eyes, let yourself feel all of your surroundings. let go of any stress or tension you have in your body. let your mind wander, act as if youā€™re just normally going to sleep.
now, after youā€™ve relaxed, imagine your room begin to spin (bonus: see your room in black and white). it doesnā€™t have to be as intense in the movie, but imagine your entire room (or wherever you are) has been picked up and is spinning in a tornado. if you have any anxiety or fears about shifting, *this* is the time to feel it. let yourself begin to imagine your dr; everything fantastic and wonderful about it, imagine it. after all, you have no idea where this tornado is taking you (šŸ˜‰)
when youā€™re ready, let the tornado end. in your mind, imagine yourself get up, steadying yourself. take in the surroundings of your room. you notice your bedroom door, and slowly walk to it, opening it to see your dr bedroom (or wherever you wake up in your door). i want you to see every color, as if youā€™re seeing it for the first time. itā€™s unlike anywhere youā€™ve ever been.
take the time to explore your dr surroundings like youā€™ve never seen them before. as previously mentioned, take note of all the bright colors, all the pretty decor, every single piece of it. after youā€™re done exploring, you see your bed (or, again, wherever you wake up).
you just had a long journey, and it looks real comfortable right now. feel it, lay down (or sit), and continue to take in the surroundings
keep looking at your surroundings and taking everything in until youā€™ve shifted

how to get perfect grades from a short attention span girlie that nobody asked for
when you get home from school, rewrite all your notes from all the important classes that day (if youā€™re a british slag like me then just do all your gcse subjects)
learn how to do deep work: work for a really long period of time with barely any breaks where you donā€™t get distracted and get shit done ā€” having noice cancelling headphones whilst listening to white noise etc works best for me
donā€™t let anything distract you, put your phone away in another room, etc
if you canā€™t concentrate, before your revision sesh, stare at a still object for 1 min to help with your focus
have a schedule/a weekly routine!!! i know youā€™re lazy and have been avoiding making one so hereā€™s my routine: on school days I rewrite all my notes from the classes (that you care about) that day and do some homework then leave the rest for the weekends
mindset is EVERYTHING. be positive about everything in your life and stop being a pessimistic bitch. everything will be okay. jeez.
for music, find a few white noise/focus music playlists and listen to them with noise cancelling headphones for most intense focus (linking my fav spotify playlists below)
write everything out by hand. donā€™t be lazy you dumb fucker and type everything up on quizlet. quizlet is bullshit and you know it. itā€™s been scientifically proven that writing things out help you remember them better
go over things early in the morning and late at night (quickly proven to stick in your brain more)
find what works best for you. find your perfect environment, music, time of day to revise, method etc. i work best in my room after 4 pm by using flash cards I have written out by hand
donā€™t let food distract you!!! if you have snacks nearby but youā€™re eating them instead of working then put them away
have an app for revision. study bunny if my favourite one itā€™s so cute but it doesnā€™t distract me
holidays are a blessing. dedicate some time every day in the holidays for revision, even if itā€™s not a lot
have a good balance between school and other hobbies. i would say have a good social life but i honestly donā€™t think having one is that important. or at least itā€™s not important to me, but if you want a good social life then go for it
have goals for the future, like if you want to go to uni and where you want to go if you do, what field you want to specialise in, etc and work towards them
if you want to exceed in school then you have to make revision and academic excellence your coping mechanism or a safe haven to calm you down
reading books, especially literature helps so much with everything. not just your vocabulary but it also helps your understanding of the world and helps you see everything in a different light. and donā€™t give me that ā€œbut i do readā€ bullshit because tiktok smut twisted love twisted hate icebreaker all that crap that youā€™re not even old enough to read donā€™t count. my fav books if you need any recs: the virgin suicides (not literature, just well-written), the secret history (not literature, just well-written), girl, interrupted (again, well written but not literature), crime and punishment, carmilla, dracula, alice in wonderland, emma, pride and prejudice, sense and sensibility, much ado about nothing, a midsummer nights dream, rebecca, the outsiders, little, women and loads more
delete social media if it worsens your mental health or your grades. deleting tiktok has been the best decision of my entire life, i was so unhappy for so long because endlessly scrolling was a coping mechanism but now im actually happy for once in my life and my grades are quite good
pray like you didnā€™t revise and revise like you didnā€™t pray
i have to have a number 20 because odd numbers besides 13 and 7 annoy me
thank you

do you use any methods to shift? if so, which ones?
I shift all the time with methods. Lately, I've been considering on trying out different official methods instead of my usual personal method (legit it's just heavy meditation, music, and sense incorporation)
In 2020/2021 I explored a lot of methods though! My absolute favorite was the raven method even though it almost never got me anywhere productive. It honestly just put me in a crazy relaxed state and I loved that I guess so that's what really put me onto my main meditation shabang today. It started out at counting to get me to that state of relaxation, then it went to binaural beats or hrtz frequencies, then eventually to music, and right now I'm listening to ambient sounds that match my Dr or just calm me like fireplace noises, or something of the sort. I also really REALLY liked the Alice in wonderland method, that one I actually got hella results with and it. Love them but I haven't done either in a LONG time and I'm considering trying them out to see if I'd still have the same results or if things have changed since then. Who knows šŸŒššŸ™ŒšŸ½.

āœØ How to Shift Realities: A Beginner's Guide āœØ
Tumblr media
So, youā€™ve heard about reality shifting and want to give it a shot? Maybe youā€™ve seen it all over TikTok or stumbled upon a Reddit thread and thought, "Can I actually do this?" The answer is yes, you can! Shifting is all about moving your consciousness from this current reality (CR) to a desired reality (DR). Whether you want to visit Hogwarts, join your favorite anime, or live your dream life, shifting is your ticket there. Hereā€™s how to get started!
1. Understand What Shifting Is šŸ§  Shifting isnā€™t just lucid dreaming or daydreaming; itā€™s about experiencing an entirely different reality as vividly as you experience this one. Itā€™s like living in a parallel universe, but with more control. Youā€™re essentially moving your awareness to a new world where the rules and circumstances are different, and youā€™re the main character.
2. Set Your Intention šŸ“ Before you even start the process, be clear on where you want to go. What does your DR look like? What role do you play there? Write down all the detailsā€”your appearance, surroundings, relationships, abilities, etc. The more specific, the better! Some people even script out entire scenes to help visualize their DR. But remember, scripting is optional. Itā€™s all about what works best for you.
3. Choose a Shifting Method šŸš€ There are a ton of methods out there, so find one that vibes with you. Here are a few popular ones:
The Raven Method šŸ–¤: Lie down in a starfish position, close your eyes, and start counting to 100 while repeating affirmations like "I am shifting" or "I am in my DR." You might feel tingles or vibrationsā€”donā€™t freak out, itā€™s totally normal.
The Pillow Method šŸ›ļø: Write your DR script or affirmations on a piece of paper and put it under your pillow. As you fall asleep, focus on your DR and imagine yourself there. Visualize everything until you drift off.
The Alice in Wonderland Method šŸ‡: Imagine yourself running after someone (like the White Rabbit) through a tunnel or hallway. As you reach a door at the end, open it, and step into your DR. Keep focusing on the details of your new world.
4. Stay Calm and Trust the Process šŸŒ™ Shifting can take time, so donā€™t stress if it doesnā€™t happen right away. The key is to stay relaxed and trust that youā€™ll get there when youā€™re ready. Anxiety or frustration can block the process, so take it easy. Try meditating or listening to subliminals if youā€™re feeling too antsy.
5. Look Out for Symptoms šŸ‘€ When youā€™re close to shifting, you might experience some symptoms like tingling, floating, or feeling disconnected from your body. These are all good signs! It means youā€™re on the right track. Some people even hear sounds from their DR or see flashes of it before fully shifting.
6. Affirmations Are Your BFF šŸ”® Affirmations can help reprogram your mind to believe that shifting is possible. Repeat things like "I am in control of my reality," "I shift easily and effortlessly," or "I am in my DR now." Say them out loud, write them down, or play them on loop as you fall asleep.
7. Donā€™t Compare Your Journey šŸ›¤ļø Everyoneā€™s shifting experience is different, so donā€™t get discouraged if yours isnā€™t the same as someone elseā€™s. Some people shift on their first try; others take weeks or even months. Itā€™s all about persistence and finding what works for you.
8. Enjoy the Ride šŸŽ¢ Once youā€™ve shifted, enjoy your DR to the fullest! Interact with the people there, explore your surroundings, and live out your wildest dreams. You can stay as long as you like, and when youā€™re ready to come back to your CR, just set the intention to wake up here.
9. Practice Self-Care šŸ’– Shifting can be intense, so make sure youā€™re taking care of yourself in your CR too. Get enough rest, eat well, and donā€™t neglect your responsibilities here. Remember, your CR is important too, even if itā€™s not as exciting as your DR.
So, thatā€™s the gist of it! Shifting is an incredible way to explore new realities and experience things youā€™ve only dreamed of. Be patient with yourself, keep practicing, and have fun with it. Who knows, you might wake up tomorrow in your DR!
Happy shifting! šŸŒŸāœØ

shifting in media
the portal. this shifting-based concept is one of the most common in multiverse media by far due to its simplicity. go inside in one universe and come out in another. its so popular, some shifters like to visualize it to reach their dr.
now playing...wonderland - caravan palace
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. equestria girls
twilight, sunset shimmer and pinkie pie (yes, pinkie pie) enter from the pony-verse side the human-verse by walking through a portal. or in this case a crystal mirror.
2. cupid (monster high/ ever after high)
both monster high and ever after high have a character named cupid. which is canonically the same person. she goes from monster high to ever after high, which i guess takes place in the same universe and is more of a transfer (?) but because the stories are so separate from one another, ill call it a shift.
4. coco
in the movie coco, in order to contact his ancestors, miguel makes the impossible trip across realms in order to reach the afterlife. for those who believe that heaven/hell are shifting, based on the belief of the deceased, this is a classic reality shift!
5. coraline
to escape her parents who coraline continues to clash with, she goes through a portal to an alternate version of her new family home (where people have freaky button eyes!) to find the quintessential "perfect" parents.
5. alice in wonderland
I had to include this last since its just so iconic! i mean, it even has a shifting method named after it...i dont think i need to explain how this correlates: alice gets sucked up into a portal to a waaackkkyyy weirrrddd universe.

cardan x jude pt 1.
so i mentioned in a previous post (here) that cardan is seemingly obsessed with with mortals/mortality in itself or at the very least is fascinated with pretty much anything to do with humans and their world, literature, artifacts, etc. in that post, i mentioned that this could be cardanā€™s method of escapism considering he despises faerie, lacking virtually any interest in his role in the court or as the high king. but i think this appeal towards mortals could be what led cardan to take notice of jude and eventually fall desperately in love with her.
in tcp, cardanā€™s favorite book is alice in wonderland, a story where a regular human girl is thrown into this magical and dangerous world so very different from her own. itā€™s there that she relies on her wits and own strengths to survive. is this not what happened to jude and taryn? so it makes sense that this could be another reason cardan takes interest in jude. (see this post)
also in tcp, itā€™s mentioned that one of the first things cardan noticed about jude were her ears and their roundness, how different they were from cardan and his friendsā€™. i highlight this specifically because what jude sees as a massive insecurity, cardan is intrigued by and even takes a liking to.
part of the reason i think jude is so alluring to cardan is that she has the one thing cardan can never know, mortality. see, in faerie, cardan can have anything he wants, and if it isnā€™t already given to him he takes it. this is not the the case with mortality. cardan can never have it no matter how hard he tries, so in a way couldnā€™t he be partly jealous of jude? in tcp, cardan views her as a weakling, dirt. he and his friends called them the circle of worms- and even that isnā€™t a low enough ranking in his eyes. however, itā€™s later revealed that cardan would free the mortal servants at hollow hall and would even take beatings for protecting them. so could cardanā€™s initial hatred for jude stem from the fact that she is born with something over him? maybe he begins to hate her (i mean before she starts to stand up to him) because she has something he might deep down long to become familiar with.

i accidentally shifted
āš ļøTW drxgsāš ļø
I went to bed, and I was in a universe where I was a 23-year-old woman named Alice and I was kind of a butthole, and I was cursing a lot (which I don't do in my CR). Then I went out with my boyfriend and my best childhood friend (yes there was tension there) and got Ä„1gh on Pepsi. I know nothing at all about that stuff in my CR, so I was like "oh, this is a lucid dream, my brain is just making stuff up because it doesn't know this." But then I started hallucinating, and me and my boyfriend did an activity. Afterwards, me and my best friend, a girl named Kelly, went into a dark room and played the first Sims game. Then I was in my old apartment with my two-year-old daughter, and she was crying because Alice in Wonderland was playing on the TV very loudly and i couldn't get up and turn it off. I've never seen Alice in Wonderland. And when i woke up i just looked up the scene that played, and its real. I also asked my dad about drxgs, and that was accurate too. I remember everything. It was like i just lived a whole alternate life, even though the entire thing was probably like 2 days. I didn't do a method, I just laid down and thought "hey, wouldn't it be funny if I shifted?"
I'm kind of scared.

A word about Alice
ā€œHave you seen that evil Alice in Wonderland game at best buy?ā€
That was how I was introduced to it. A game that would stay with me for years after. I had no idea what the person was talking about at my high school in the A.V. room. I was there frequently, editing my first stop motion film (An adaptation of Edgar Allan Poeā€™s the Raven).Ā  They told me she had a knife and there was a thin cat next to her. I was intrigued and the next time I was at best buy I wandered to the Computer Game department and found the box.
Thatā€™s when I was introduced to American McGee's Alice.
Tumblr media
I feel like I should mention, I was not and still am not really a PC gamer. I do console games mostly and reserve my computer for animation and editing. This game however, I needed to play it.Ā  I was gripped by the image. The stark red background. The haunting stare of the character. the hand on the knife. It was unapologetically dark and I was obsessed.Ā
I went online wanting to learn more. It was early 2000 and my home internet was still dial up. I still recall going online to the Alice website and finding a countdown page. It was a music box, a child singing in the background, a terribly brokenĀ  tune looping as the box threatened to open. It was haunting and perfect.Ā  Iā€™d come home from school and for the short moment while I was the only one there, Iā€™d go to the site and let that strange tune play though the house. At the end of the countdown, the box opened to reveal a decaying baby doll head (All of this is from memory and may be distorted by time. I unfortunately canā€™t find any images of the countdown page.) It stirred something in me to see that page come to life. It was the early days of internet. The time of MySpace. So the site was crude by todayā€™s standards, but it was the most amazing thing to me at the time.
Tumblr media
Iā€™d leave it open on one of the computers while I was in A.V. at school. friends would come and weā€™d watch Alice move (sitting up from her seat, marveling at her blade, dusting off her dress.)
And of course, take time to show anyone the trailer.
I remember this time of being a teenager entering adulthood, feeling misunderstood, anxious, scared, and losing myself in the music of Garbage, Poe and Crystal Method. Alice fit right in to the aesthetic of everything I saw at the time.Ā  If Wednesday was the goth friend saying and liking macabre things, Alice was the older teen sister angry with the world and ready to scream at it with you. She was grunge, she was dark, she was frightening and wonderful.
I couldnā€™t afford the game, but I could afford the soundtrack. I ordered it from Amazon. A site that was also in itā€™s early days at the time. I hadnā€™t ordered much from the site, but I needed this.
Iā€™ll always remember when the email alert came. My package had been delivered. There was a storm that day. I lived in Phoenix Arizona, and when we have storms it looks like the world is ending. The sky was dark, the thunder was loud. You had to get inside. I came home and went to the mailbox. The CD shape of the package nearly made my heart stop. I knew what it was, but holding it felt like an achievement.Ā  I listened to that music daily.
Now, so you know, I didnā€™t just admire this game from afar. I did get the game for my birthday one year. I had talked about it so much that it was almost certain my mom would remember. It was the first computer game I owned. I was terrible at using a keyboard for games and couldnā€™t get through the first few levels without a huge amount of struggle. It was a lot of getting used to and I loved it.Ā Ā
From the opening cinematic, the menu screen, the sound of the bell when you start the game. It was exactly what I wanted.
Tumblr media
At the time I couldnā€™t think of another game like Alice. It felt tailored made from people with my mindset. A frightful game with a deep story and a character I immediately identified with. At a time where games had very action oriented goals, Alice gave a backstory of an asylum even coming with a patient log for Alice. All of it detailing the terrible fire, her mental state, and the struggle she was going through.
The best part of this was that I wasnā€™t alone in my admiration for this story. You could walk into Hot Topic and Tower Records and be greeted by large Alice statues modeled from the box art that captured my imagination from the start.
Tumblr media
I wanted to see more of this character. I dreamed of seeing a movie someday.
And it almost seemed like I would get my wish.
There was news that a film was being developed of Alice with Wes Craven directing and possibly Natalie Portman or Sarah Michelle Gellar playing Alice. part of me hoped for an animated film with the original voices, but I was still gripped by this news.
At the time, I didnā€™t consider myself a horror person (feels weird to write that now since I think Iā€™ve always really been one). I didnā€™t really seek out horror films and avoided gore. But I wanted Alice to by a disturbing and imaginative experience. I wanted to be scared watching this while feeling for the main protagonist and wanting her to reclaim her mind.
In a world where this film went the way I hoped, people would have movie nights today of Midsommar, Pearl and Alice. It would be a film that would take you somewhere you were afraid to go, but couldnā€™t look away from.
But then...I heard the movie wasnā€™t happening...and news of Alice stopped.
I never stopped thinking about that macabre girl and her journey through a tattered land of her mind. I listened to the music, revisited the game and also drew her now and then. lines from the game even made it into my typical dialogue (ā€Promise only what you can deliverā€ wise words).
I also still dreamed of seeing a film someday and would imagine who would play Alice (for a while I kept seeing Emma Watson as the character, but also still like the idea of an animated Alice.)
Then, one day, watching Attack of the Show on G4. I saw the most unexpected image.
Tumblr media
Alice was coming back, and this time she would be on consoles.
The thrill was back, and as soon as a trailer came out, I immediately shared it with everyone.
I was quick to buy the game when it came out, and it was wilder than I could have hoped. A gripping story with tragedy, beautiful animations and moments that sent a chill through me. The kind of chills that made me pause the game and take in what I was seeing. The sight of a monstrous train rampaging through wonderland was a gift. The way Aliceā€™s mind would unravel things was mesmerizing. Seeing life in London through her eyes and getting more of the history of the character (and the twist of the Red Queenā€™s identity) it was perhaps the only game that really pulled me in fully. I love games like the Arkham series, Bioshock, Horizon, Silent Hill, and so on. Alice to me felt like something more. I wasnā€™t trying to save a city or save someone, I was playing to help retain someoneā€™s sanity.
The fascination with this character and world was just as alive as when I first saw all of it. I bought the art of book and still go through it and use it as a bit of inspiration if I have a creativity block.
Tumblr media
Ā I carried my love for the character all the way to my work in animation and even built a stop motion puppet while I was working on Guillermo Del Toroā€™s Pinocchio film. A character who I was so taken by in high school now stood on my desk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All this is to say that this take on Alice Liddell and her fantasy world has had a great influence on me. I was prepared to continue following this story and I hoped to someday see her find her way to the big screen and have a final story where she would come to peace with what happened to her.
The news that the tale of Alice is not going to continue is devastating. Itā€™s troubling to see so many stories be brought to an abrupt end. for finales to never be given and answers to questions to be lost forever.Ā
There are a lot of stories that I believe deserve to be told, but weā€™re constantly given entertainment thatā€™s simple, easily digestible, with nothing to say except to reference nostalgia and trend online. Itā€™s hard to find something that you can connect with. Something that you need a moment to think about after youā€™ve seen it. Something that gets you emotionally. These things are found mostly in the passion projects of creatives. The projects they pour so much into and want to present to the world.Ā  The projects that are not just made with earnings in mind, but also how youā€™ll connect to the audience. I think these projects are important. They push us to look further in and to question how we connect and interact with a story.
Too easily these types of ideas are thrown aside now and itā€™s harder for anyone to finish the tale they wanted to present to the world if it doesnā€™t fit with what a studio algorithm says. It may be a dark time to be a creative right now, but Iā€™ll remember the stories that I connected with. The ones that hit an emotional part of me and made me stop and think about a new perspective on life, fear, depression, joy and how I connect to these things.
Thank you American Mcgee and the Alice team for taking me and many others through a Wonderland that reached into our very soul.Ā
