Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 70
The Doctor took a module on winning arguments as a class while on Gallifrey. (Audio: Previously Next Time)
Time Lords had galleons. They were made out of a special type of wood. The stories about one called the Glass Devourer would give the Doctor nightmares. According to myths, the Eternals visited the Time Lords and inspired the way they flew through the universe. (Audio: The Road Untravelled)
Different possible Alexes - Susan's son and the Doctor's great grandson - are named Alex Campbell, Alex Tyler, Alex Foreman, and Alex Who. (Audio: The Road Untravelled)
In an alternate universe, Quences kept the Doctor prisoner in an old forgotten part of the Capitol with Badger as his keeper. Quences believed that the Doctor was meant to become Lord President, so he, or Auld Mortality, was brainwashing and hypnotizing him in an effort to get him there as he wanted to run away from Gallifrey. He became an author. Instead, that universe's version of Susan became Lord President. (Audio: Auld Mortality)
In a version of reality, Sarah Jane convinced the Fourth Doctor to destroy the Daleks on Skaro. After doing so, they tried to escape, but a prototype Dalek killed Sarah Jane and Harry and shot the Doctor. Narvin extracted the Doctor and gave him the last of the Elixir of Life, allowing him to regenerate into an alternate fifth incarnation, one that had the appearance of the Sixth Doctor and called himself the Warrior. (Audio: Dust Devil)
The Sixth Doctor and Mel encountered an early Gallifreyan named Tamira who traveled in a Type 2 TARDIS. She was caught in a constant state of regeneration by the Thrusk, but when she was freed, she stabilized into an appearance identical to Mel. (Audio: Mel-evolent)
The Seventh Doctor thought he might have had a giddy aunt, but it was probably metaphorical. (Audio: Forever Fallen)
Rose and the Metacrisis Doctor had a daughter named Mia. (Comic: Empire of the Wolf)
While Ruath was using the Time Scoop to view the Doctor's timeline, she saw the first incarnation, commenting on how old Theta had gotten before betraying her. She also saw the final incarnation, saying that this incarnation would be no good for her. She settled on the Fifth Doctor instead despite it being forbidden to meet out of temporal sequence. After all, she certainly didn't want to meet Ka Faraq Gatri. The Fifth Doctor would have been easier to manipulate to her ends. (Novel: Goth Opera)
By some accounts, the Leader - the President of Republic of Great Britain in the Inferno universe - was the Inferno version of the Doctor. This universe's Second Doctor had accepted the "thin" face offered to him at his trial. (Novel: Timewyrm: Revelation)
In the Inferno universe, Koschei never became the Master, and he and Ailla became stranded on Earth. The control console was cannibalized by agents of the Republic of Great Britain. Ailla was killed, and Koschei was enslaved, wired to computers to extract information. He was tortured to death several times and ran out of regenerations. After meeting himself from the main universe, he begged for death, and the Delgado Master unplugged his life support system. (Novel: The Face of the Enemy)
While traversing the Land of Fiction, the War Master's shadow gained intelligence and sentience. His shadow fell in love with Poetry, who he killed. Her death destablized the Land, so they used the Master's TARDIS and the shadow TARDIS. The Master agreed to leave but before doing so tricked his shadow into looking into a magic mirror. The Shadow was sent into a sort of limbo or purgatory where fictional characters live before their creation. (Audio: The Shadow Master)
The War Master once infiltrated the Kaled scientific elite by saying he was Davros's uncle "Sorvad." (Audio: The Master's Dalek Plan.)
The War Master had used Davros's old assistant Alron to turn him into his first Dalek. He then gave Alron, now his Dalek Supreme, an order to make thousands of Daleks. He then went forward to the moment the Time Lords sent the Fourth Doctor to prevent the Dalek's creation and had the Daleks kill him. (Audio: Shockwave)
While leading his Daleks on a military campaign, he began having visions of the Unbound Master warning him of the Dalek's treason. The War Master agreed to help avert this time line, contacting his past self and tricking him into bringing Crazlus to him. He then killed Crazlus, making his whole plan impossible and thus averting the changed time line. (Audio: He Who Wins)

fun fact, in the audio dramas the Eighth Doctor DID go back to visit Susan and also discovered they had a great-grandson Alex, who was played by Paul McGann's actual son Jake McGann!
so even though that last episode made a big deal out of Fifteen never going back to visit Susan, I choose to believe that they just lost some memories in the bifurcation and the Doctor absolutely did go back to see Susan and spend Christmas with her <3

Susan meets the War Doctor
12 June 2024
Carole Ann Ford stars in two new box sets of full-cast audio drama, as Susan is reunited with her grandfather – but not as she’s ever known him before.
Tumblr media
No Gallifreyan was safe from the Time War. While the Doctor resisted the call, his granddaughter Susan did her duty and signed up to fight the growing Dalek threat.
Susan (Carole Ann Ford) teams up with the War Doctor (Jonathon Carley) in two brand-new box sets, Susan’s War: Family Ties (due in August 2024) and Susan’s War: Grandfather Time (release date TBC). Each of these box sets contains two episodes of exciting audio drama.
Family Ties and Grandfather Time continue the story of the 2020 release, Susan’s War. That box set featured Susan meeting the Eighth Doctor, at a time when he was reluctant to join the fight. Now, as they’re brought together on new missions for the Time Lords, she must come to terms with her grandfather being a very different man – the War Doctor is ready for battle.
The Worlds of Doctor Who – Susan’s War: Family Ties and Grandfather Time are now available to pre-order as collector’s edition CD box sets (+ download for just £15.99 each) or as digital downloads only (for just £12.99 each), exclusively here.
The stories in Family Ties are:
The Lost Son by Sarah Cassidy  The Golden Child by Peter Anghelides
And, the stories in Grandfather Time are:
The Last of the Kaleds by David Llewellyn The Voord Alliance by Andrew Smith
Producer Heather Challands said: “It's my privilege to continue the story of Susan. Carole Ann Ford takes the lead so well and it's so exciting to have her front-and-centre in these stories, tackling the Time War. These episodes really confront Susan with the family that she's lost, and the family she still has! For the first time, she's going to meet the War Doctor. But will she approve of what her grandfather has become?”
Script editor Matt Fitton added: “This is a different angle on the Time War – it’s much more to do with diplomacy and espionage. Susan’s not a soldier; she uses her brain and her empathy for forging alliances with other species for the Time Lords. And I like to keep an aspect of the 1960s present, so we touch on characters, situations, and alien races that hark back to the time when Susan was travelling with the Doctor.”
Big Finish listeners can save money by pre-ordering both Family Ties and Grandfather Time as a bundle for just £30 (collector’s edition CD box sets + download) or £25 (download only).
All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.
Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mail-out of collector’s edition CDs may be delayed due to factors beyond our control, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.
-- Oooh! They're bringing back Alex Campbell again, I see (Sonny McGann). And Commander Veklin! ( @riversofmars )

Happy Halloween 🎃
.
I’m not one to rush how quick time goes but I’ve been so excited to finally upload these illustrations. Coming up with the costumes was so much fun too aha! (Fun fact, all of this started because I wanted to make a ‘Goldichops and the three bears’ pun).
.
Goldichops and the three bears (Robert, John, Fanny and Alex)
Sanrio squad: Yoshikitty, Badtz-Maru, Lala and Pompompurin (Zoe, Kaito, Aya and Max)
Outfit swap (Stan, Sonya and Mitch)
Dino onesies (Jarod and Lola) (they’re pachycephalosaurus onesies because the wiki says the main character of the Prologue book said that’s the dino Lola would be)
Demons, Colton and an angel (Tyrak, Colton, Muller and Florres) (Tyrak doesn’t need a demon costume and I just know Muller probably wouldn’t wear a costume either)
Bowling (Mile 0 Steve and Adam)
Witch and wizard (Anzu and Daw)
The Little Tyrax (honestly only included this illustration because I thought it would be cool to draw them too)

I'm listening to Time War: Cass, and Alex is a gem. An actual conversation he has with his great-grandfather:
Alex, about 8: He's hard to kill, that one. Unless you lop his head off, I suppose.
8: >:( I'm standing right here. I can hear you.
Alex: Or blow him to bits. Or hurl him into the sun, that'd work. Or a black hole. Or build some sort of giant x-slicer and then-
8: okaaaaay. we get the idea. let's not contemplate ways to end my existence.
Alex: or feed him to a dinosaur!

Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 48
The Eleventh Doctor and the Fifteenth Doctor once worked together in an attempt to free a woman named Nora Wicker from a time bubble, but before they could do so, Nora confided in the Eleventh and told him she wished to stay. (Audio: The World Tree)
The first alien planet Rose went to was Justice Alpha. Before that, she had only been to space stations and ships. (Novel: The Monsters Inside)
The Eleventh Doctor keeps the Second's recorder in his pocket sometimes. (Novel: Shroud of Sorrow)
Chad Boyle frequently tormented Ace as a child. At one point, he almost hit her with a brick, but he was stopped by an older version of Ace. If he had hit the younger Ace, he would have killed her. (Novel: Timewyrm: Revelation)
There are several academic cities on Gallifrey, including Prydos, Patrexi, and Arcalia. (Novel: The Garden of Evil)
The Oldharbour Clock is a really old clock near the Capitol on Gallifrey. It is intricately decorated with little figures that dance with every chime of the hour. These figures, however, gained sentience and are actually the most intelligent beings on the entire planet. (Novel: The Infinity Doctors)
Lake Abydos on Gallifrey is home to singing fish. Romana's family spent a lot of time here, and she used to swim in the water when she was young. (Audio: Neverland)
After being resurrected, the Celestial Intervention Agency allowed the Master to read up on the Doctor’s past, making him aware of what happened to Lucie, Tamsin, and Alex. (Audio: Masterplan) This also means the Master is probably aware of any major events in the Doctor’s life from before that time as well.
The Doctor once saved Peter Capaldi from a Mandrel and Peter Davison from a Krynoid. (Comic: The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who)
The Eleventh Doctor said that the TARDIS has a GPS with the voice of Davros. (Audio: Trouble in Paradise)
Leela had a sister named Ennia, who was killed by Horda at three years old before Leela was born. Their mother killed the Horda with a knife, the same one Leela carries. (Novel: Eye of Heaven)
Ophiuchus was a Time Lord healer who managed to overcome the regeneration cycle limit on thirteen incarnations. For this, the High Council declared him a renegade, claiming that he had to do things such as vivisection to extend the lives of Gallifreyan criminals. (Comic: Ophiuchus)
Some Time Tots keep rovies as pets. (Audio: No Place Like Home)
Susan was 97 when she applied to Coal Hill School. (Novel: The Time Lord Letters)
Jane Templeton was a trainee Time Lord attending the Academy. She got stranded in Ancient Egypt and lost her TARDIS, which had taken on the appearance of a shabti figure. By the time she found her TARDIS, she was in her thirteenth incarnation, and her TARDIS was so degraded that the Seventh Doctor said it should be euthanized, which would involve flying it into the heart of a star. Since she had impersonated the god Thoth, she was guilty of class 2 intervention, the punishment for which is vaporization. Instead of letting the Doctor save her, she slipped into her own TARDIS and died with it. (Audio: False Gods)
