Even when the moon had reached the middle of the sky, the excitement of the Valentine tribe in the distance remained the same, and the joy continued.

"Who are you?" asked the traveler.

The girl's panic was quelled by this question and this voice. She summoned the courage to look up at the stranger. In the moonlight, the handsome traveler made her unconsciously open her mouth: "I... My name is Aya, a member of the Valentines."

"Where are you going?" asked the traveler.

"Ant City... I want to go to the Ant City!" Aya whispered at first, but suddenly she said it out loud.

"You should go before dawn. The desert at night is very dangerous," the traveler warned.

Aya held the book carefully, for fear that her hands would ruin the precious book. She looked at the words on the cover and sounded it out with difficulty: "The Canon, is that how you read it?"

She only knew some simple words and feared that she would remember wrong. After flipping through the pages, she was embarrassed to find that she couldn't read even half of the contents.

She didn't know where he came from, what kind of pain and despair he had experienced, why there was such a gentle sadness in his body, and what kind of person he carefully sheltered in his heart.

But the traveler didn't say anything. He didn't say anything.

Late at night, the young girl was very tired and sleepy. She murmured and asked, "Where is your lover? Where did she go?"*

The traveler replied, "He is always in my heart."

Aya couldn't tell whether this is what the traveler said or what she dreamed. She fell asleep with the book as her pillow, and the traveler took the liberty of taking the strange girl back to the village. He covered her with a blanket, sat next to her to watch over her, and went nearby to find some dry wood to raise the fire and warm her.

The traveler himself didn't sleep. He waited for the rising sun and then quietly left to continue his journey.

Before the start of this journey, he actually hadn't had many opportunities to watch the sunrise, as he couldn't see it in the Village of Dusk. When he’d moved to Neverland, he had spent half a year under the eternally starry sky. When he was on tasks outside, he was in a hurry and didn't have the mind to wait for a sunrise. In fact, he didn't have any attachment to the sunrise. If his lover was still there, it would be beautiful for them to watch the sunset together. The sunset never fell in the land of Dusk. They could sit side by side on the beach, holding hands and watching the end of time.

He wanted to take him to the snow-capped mountains to see if the snow leopard he had once treated still occupied the mountains, where there was a beautiful waterfall and ice lake and the frozen blue-green water amidst the ice and snow made the mountain as beautiful as a fairy tale. He also wanted to take him to the polar regions to see penguins. They could even adopt an abandoned baby penguin, feed it, and watch it stagger on the ice until it was strong enough to return to the colony.

He had many, many things he wanted to do with him. Maybe he didn't want to do these things. Maybe he just wanted to be with him.

When people who love each other are together, they can feel each other's hearts even if they don't say a word.

But if the distance was between life and death, could these thoughts reach the other side of the Styx?

The traveler watched the sun rising over the horizon, and his heart was at peace. He was like a boat drifting from one port to another. He may encounter storms along the way, but when the boat arrived at the harbor, he would still feel lucky and never feel dismayed.

He never felt that he should take happiness for granted. His decision with his faith was not to seek happiness, but to let his heart find peace, even if he was punished for it.

It was better to suffer frankly than to live falsely. He knew that he wouldn't run away. He had made a mistake and did not repent, so he should be punished. For him, such punishment was not pain, but atonement. All the sufferings in this world were to redeem the original sin that he was born with, and he had to pay for it with his whole life.

At dawn, Aya woke up from her sleep. She was covered with a blanket and didn't know when the bonfire before her had been lit. There were still faint flames swaying in the wind, but the traveler had left.

Aya grabbed the blanket, picked up the book, and ran to the village in a hurry. The rocks and thorns along the way made her run too fast, and she accidentally fell to the ground.

She couldn't care less about herself and picked up the Canon, only to find that a piece of paper had fallen from its pages.

She picked up the paper and turned it over. It was a hand-painted portrait of a handsome young man smiling at her.

There was a name in the corner, which should be the name of the person in the portrait. It was very simple, and she could easily read it out even if she couldn't read much. She gently said: "Qi Leren."

It was just an ordinary name, but the tender brushwork on the portrait made her voice go soft unconsciously. She wanted to take a closer look and feel the overflowing tenderness, but a gust of wind blew from the desert, violently and rapidly, and took the portrait from her unsuspecting hand, blowing it into the clear sky above the vast yellow sand.

The sand flying in the wind overwhelmed Aya's eyes. She waved her arms wildly in confusion, but she could only grasp the yellow sand in her hands. When she opened her misty eyes again, the portrait had been brought to the sky by the wind, fluttering and rootless, and was about to disappear into the heavens.

Aya chased it without thinking, racing the wind all the way. A great sadness filled her heart and a voice in her heart made her run, run, run desperately... She lost her shoes, her feet stepped on stones, and blood flowed, but the pain of her body could not overcome her inner sadness and she still dared not stop, she wanted to catch what was about to be lost—until she tripped over thorns and fell heavily to the earth.

She fell in such pain that she fell to her knees and cried. Her feet had already been cut bloody, her knees were scraped open, and she was bleeding. Even her hands were full of cuts. She shrank back and wanted to give up, but she looked up and looked into the distance unwillingly.

The wind was blowing again, and a gust of wind sent that thin piece of paper to an unknown distance. Such a large desert, such a small piece of paper. In an instant there was no trace of it, only the vast yellow sand and blue sky.

Who was the man in that picture? Aya would never know.

It was doomed to be unknown, impossible to find and impossible to obtain.

And how could the emotion carried on the delicate paper withstand the relentless sand in the desert?

It would eventually be destroyed, buried and forgotten.

Aya was stupefied and kneeling in the hot sun, with mottled blood all the way behind her showing that she had made an almost crazy effort for a story with no answer. Her eyes, which were filled with the wind and sand, kept shedding tears, but they couldn't wash away the hard sand in her soft eyes. It seemed that something sharp was stuck in her heart, so sharp and painful, but she didn't know what it was.

She didn't know anything.

Sadness and melancholy suddenly welled up in the girl's heart and she burst into tears on this barren land, for a stranger whose name she didn’t know, for a stranger who only knew her name.

Editor’s Notes: After checking three different mtls (my number has gone up again oh dear), I’ve determined that BMBL calls the book the Bible in the original Chinese. I’ve chosen to translate it as Canon in order to distinguish it, as BMBL has stated previously (and will again later) that, despite being very similar, the religion in this series is not Christianity.

I think this chapter is the first time I’ve cried a bit while editing. I encourage everyone to come back and read this little interlude again once you’ve finished all of Part II, there’s quite a bit that hits differently.

I’m going to be taking a one week break while we’re between arcs in order to do some catching up, so the next chapter will be up on June 18th.

For some reason I’m becoming really fascinated with my own character, Nymeria, because of everything about her- Her miserableness with the life she has right now, her swearing of revenge against the entire world due to the insanity her powers caused her, and her eventual possession by Aya, the “Vessel of Destruction” and shadow of Kaya, and then Nymeria’s final sacrifice: Killing herself, bringing Aya down with her to rid the world of Aya. 

i keep listening the song “The Song I Heard Somewhere” (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieRplpDRXJ8&list=RDieRplpDRXJ8&start_radio=1 ) and writing stuff in a almost-poem-idk-what-it-is-honestly-way. 

Hence yet again I made something similar to the last writing thing I wrote, which may be easier to understand whats going on? idk:

A bright light pierces the sky, A woman stands, Her face looking to the sky. How did I survive the keen blade which had been created to kill my kind? How did I survive the attempt on my life?

Upon awaking, realizing she had survived, She ordered the destruction of all “God Blades” which had been specially created to destroy the souls of the gods. With their destruction, Officially no physical weapon was now capable of destroying the goddesses. The assailant was found and executed brutally and personally by Nymeria.

Now with that out of the way, she was left to think on it all.

Her mind had officially been lost, twisting and turning into a desire for revenge. What had triggered this sudden insanity?

It may be that upon surviving a fatal blow, she realized something, That this world was cruel and unclean. That everyone in it had the potential to be evil. And by allowing her existence, Somehow it had wronged her. The insanity caused by the powers of the creator had now caused insanity to the goddess of time. It should have been billions of years before that point, however, But I suppose anything can happen, right?

Now swearing revenge against the world and Kaya herself, She began her revenge plan. Bring instability to the world, and then destroy it all!

Emerald eyes gleaming for once after billions of years of miserable living, She chose her path. Now her destiny is officially sealed. “Ever Changing Fate” Whilst destiny will never change, Fate, the chosen path, May change often.

Hence the name of this story, This story of the time goddess and a girl who found out something she never should have found. And the ensuing civil war, Theda will fall into chaos. And Nymeria will fall, She will be sealed away on a distant island in the middle of the ocean. And the story of the Destroyer will ensue years later, The goddesses will fall into sleep, And the world will go on without them, This story of the miserable life goddess Will finally end with Nymeria’s sacrifice five hundred years later…

I used to actually despise Nymeria as a character, yes even tho she was my own character I hated her, but that was meant to be a good thing because she was made to be hated. And she still is made to be hated. She’s still an arrogant, self-absorbed bitch. But I have a bit of sympathy for her because she honestly had no control over herself by the time the assassination attempt happened, her insanity was starting to take hold. It’s a mystery why her insanity so much earlier (as it’s only 996 T.C. by the time her insanity starts, which is 549 years before 1545, the beginning of my story) than the other goddesses insanity had their insanity eventually start, and even then Nymeria’s insanity acted very quickly and she had already basically just lost it within only a month. So, in a way you can feel bad for her, but she still had some self control and chose to do a lot of things on her own will and now instinctively in a sense, like she does it just on impulse and regrets it later, no, she doesn’t regret a lot of what she has done originally, at least not until she dies does she finally regret everything. 

The insanity of the goddesses causes them to wish to destroy the world because the goddesses powers are simply parts of Kaya’s powers, the powers of the creator, and the insanity basically makes them want to destroy, opposite to the powers being able to create. Whilst the goddesses’ powers are not actually able to create on their own and instead manifested based on their personalities and everything, their still power that was originally within Kaya and thus were originally creation powers.

So even though the world really has done nothing to her, it was Kaya the entire time who had wronged her (albeit she never had malicious intentions, Kaya was desperate and didn’t think of how wrong this was to force part of your power onto someone else who has never before had this power unlike her whose had it for a few trillion years at this point), and basically she channeled the insanity into: I want to get revenge on Kaya and the world, and the easiest way is to destroy the world Kaya loves so much and then kill her!

So, yeah, ._. Nymeria is just messed up in the head.

She’s clearly got a lot going on. They’ve clearly lost a sense of themselves along the way, but I’m not sure that that that makes them “insane”. I think it just is more along the lines of them losing the idea of what it means to  have their job. Since they more or less control so many functions of reality and are supposed to be in harmony with humanity and everything that is tied together with that fact, and if they lose that control...

Well, it’s a mess.

It’s the story far too told in history in many cultures... where the gods, goddess, and more lose control and their sense of meaning the more they’re pulled from what it is that makes humanity— humanity in the first place. That’s why they’re always drawn to humans. We hold things that they do not and that comes to a cost for many people.

Oaken still holds hope for Linux support

EUREKA: EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION Anime Film Closes Out the Trilogy in North American Theaters

  Funimation has some big plans for theaters in the coming year, including the English theatrical debut of EUREKA: EUREKA SEVEN HI-EVOLUTION, the third and final installment of the film trilogy. That one is set to make its way to theaters in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand sometime in 2022.

    The film is directed by Tomoki Kyoda. Here's how Funimation describes it:

Eureka has lived alone in atonement for ten years, hated by the world and blamed for the chaos that destroyed everything.   Sing a Bit of Harmony tells the story of the beautiful and mysterious Shion (Tao Tsuchiya) who transfers to Keibu High School where she quickly becomes popular for her open-hearted personality and exceptional athletic talent... but she turns out to be an AI (artificial intelligence) in the testing phase! Shion's goal is to bring chronic loner Satomi (Haruka Fukuhara) “happiness.” But her strategy is something no human would expect: she serenades Satomi in the middle of the classroom. After finding out that Shion is an AI, Satomi and her childhood friend, engineering geek Toma (Asuka Kudo), steadily warm up to the new student. Along with the popular and attractive Gotchan (Kazuyuki Okitsu), the strong-willed Aya (Mikako Komatsu), and judo club member "Thunder" (Satoshi Hino), they become more and more moved by Shion's singing voice and earnestness even as her antics bewilder them. But what Shion does for Satomi's sake ends up involving them all in some serious pandemonium… Get ready for the heartwarming story of a not quite market-ready AI and her classmates!

  Sing a Bit of Harmony is written and directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura, who took home the “Excellence Award” at the Japan Media Arts Film Festival’s animation division for his work on Patema Inverted: Beginning of the Day, and the “Best Anime Award” at the Tokyo International Anime Fair’s OVA division for Time of Eve.

Sunday Igboho: Arewa youths give Yorubas 72 hours to leave north

The Arewa Youth Assembly, AYA, has given Mr. Sunday Igboho 72 hours to move his Yoruba individuals from the north or be compelled to make essential moves by expressly assuming the liability of getting them back home.

Hi, for the WIP for Brio: Lee's fic fic, post season 3 and/or don't let me go but not. And also the urban fantasy script sounds intriguing. No pressure, but very excited about potential new Brio fic from you, I love your writing!

Lee’s fic fic

So everyone knows and loves @johnisntevendead (ConvolutedConcussions)’s story Better Than a Harmony. Lee is/was my fic enabler (and I theirs) and we collaborated on this idea. I am obviously super in love with it, and I was inspired to write a fic of their morning after their first time in that universe -- so basically a fic of a fic. I had a really strong idea and wrote a very small bit and then it disappeared into the wind.... If they ever pick it up again, I may get reinspired! The fic was meant to be sleepy fluffy morning smut.

An Excerpt:

The first thing he's aware of is that his hand is full of warm softness. The next thing he's aware of is that he's naked, and after that -- he's not alone. This final point is punctuated by a delicious roll of wide hips against an impressive bout of morning wood, and he buries his nose in her hair to smother a groan.

“Time to get up already, ma?”

“Oh, you're the one who's up already…” she murmurs, grinding back again. “Hard to sleep through almost being impaled.”

Don’t Let Go but not

My original idea for this prompt was a bit different: Beth and Dean are at this soccer league/PTA “potluck” that’s more like a little carnival, much to Rio’s chagrin. Beth sees Rio and tries to avoid him, tries to keep Dean from seeing him, but fails. They get into a fight and Dean storms off. Rio ruthlessly teases her, not realizing how upset she is. Dean retaliates by flirting openly with one of the other mom’s at the potluck, Beth is furious but doesn’t say anything -- just keeps drinking. Eventually one of the PTA moms mocks Beth because of Dean and Beth loses her shit.. Rio steps in when Dean can’t handle it, telling Dean to take his children home while he handles Beth. He takes Beth to his car with Marcus, who sweetly asks if Miss Elizabeth is okay, she suddenly goes ramrod straight despite her drunkenness. Rio gets her in his car and holds her hand, she tells him “don’t let go”.

I love how silly the idea is, and I love the fluffiness of it, and I also had a strong start -- and then I lost the idea and it drifted to what is now Don’t Let Go on AO3.

An Excerpt:

He wasn’t planning on going; he’s got too much shit to do and the idea of spending more than 10 minutes with the insufferable, snotty white suburban moms and stuck up, too-tight collared blonde, tanned suburban dads leaves a sour taste on his tongue, and he’s not sure he’s up for it, even with Marcus jutting out his lower lip and letting it wobble just so -- he doesn’t want to examine where his kid learned that particular trick -- and his ex giving him a pointed look that reeks of you-were-gone-for-three-months-and-you-owe-it-to-him.

But that tiny part of him that’s always fixated on her, his strawberry blonde, whitest of the white suburban mamas (but so much more than that, a voice whispers), urges him to finally cave and agree to take Marcus to this damn end-of-the-soccer-season potluck. Rhea had for some reason not switched their kid to a different team after the debacle with Elizabeth inserting herself into their lives (likely, he surmises, due to that lip wobble), and these kind of events scream Elizabeth’s name, so he’s certain she’ll be there with her brood. Maybe even with her dumbass husband, too.

He also would rather not examine why the thought of getting all up in her business while her husband watches gets him feeling a certain kind of way.

His hemming and hawing means he and Marcus are an hour or so late, including the time it takes to swing by a french bakery to pick up dessert as his contribution to the party. As soon as Marcus spills out of his G wagon, the kid is beelining to the playground, shrieking Jane’s name and colliding with her as she tumbles down one of the slides.

Urban Fantasy Web/TV Series

Another Lee/Meghan Collaboration! We’re both queer and interested in very modern settings with fantasy woven in, so we took an idea I had been fostering for a while and went back and forth for a while until we had a solid concept. It would probably be a Web Series as those are easier to self produce, but I would much rather see it as a one hour TV series. Alas, that’s a while off, so a web series works for now!

The main character of our story is not the main character of her Universe’s story -- the “Main Magical Girl” is a huge lesbian disaster and is often not around, seeing as she’s like.... doing stuff to save their world. Our lead woman is a bookworm who stumbles on a secret society of sorts who protects the knowledge that every book in this universe isn’t actually a book; each one is a recording of the goings on in other universes that really exist.

Magic in this world is illegal. There are other magical sentient races: Faeries, Nymphs, and Pixies (who are tiny and treated like vermin, so they have to hide. The MC has one living in the walls of her apartment that she befriends). The Fae world exists alongside the human one, there’s halflings for most of the races. There are different schools of magic.

Our MC starts talking to another woman through the books, and they eventually fall in love. Other girl is in trouble in her world, and there’s something evil stalking her. They eventually learn how to open portals between books. Our MC isn’t inherently versed in the known magical schools, but has her own type.

There’s quite a few awesome supporting characters: Corvo, the bi halfling black man who was once in an apprenticeship to be a Librarian who now runs an independent book store and has a special relationship with corvids; Tessa, our MC’s bi activist cousin who is feisty and sarcastic and ends up falling deeply in love with Corvo; Corvo’s big beefy ex bf who’s a sweet, gentle gay disaster; Artemis, the deaf non-white witch who runs a magic speakeasy and has circle runes tattooed on her fingers and palms to boost her magic.

The villain is capitalism/racism/power obsession.

I often tag stuff that inspires me for this series, the most common being ones that remind me of Corvo (tagged on my blog with that name). I really, really, really want to eventually make this happen, I am so in love with the idea, and so in love with the core 4 characters.

An Excerpt:

Close to the climax, within the third act, Sage and Aya communicate through a stable portal and Sage is giving Aya what she needs to save her world…

SAGE:  Hey, one more thing. AYA:  What?

SAGE reaches into the portal and drags AYA forward, their lips touch just where each of their worlds meet.  The kiss is passionate.  When it ends, they press their foreheads together for a brief moment.

SAGE:  I, uh--I believe in you.

Sage and Tessa, in the dead of night (for the dramz) have a book they absolutely should not have and are planning on finally opening the portal into Aya’s world--their plan is nebulous at best, they’re gonna bring Aya into this world, not realizing it’s not just her who’s in danger, but her entire world.  Corvo interrupts in grand fashion, telling them to stop, that they don’t know what they’re doing.

TESSA:  She’s in danger and they’re in love!  Also, fuck you! CORVO:  No, you don’t get it--you two?  Cannot do this.  Also, you’ll sorta cause the apocalypse.  She’ll die, we’ll die… lots of death. TESSA:  I’m sorry, who the fuck are you? CORVO: Never mind who I am, you’ve got bigger shit to worry about--you think your shenanigans didn’t put you on their radar?? TESSA, looking incredulous:  “Shenanigans?”

Some noise, like a clatter or footsteps, signals they are not alone.

CORVO:  Oh, shitting f--you gotta get outta here and put that thing back where it came from.  [He either points at the book or hands it to Sage or Tessa.]
