Spiritfall has just released out of Early Access! This was my first job in the games industry, I've worked super hard on it and it's been an incredible experience. I started with the Marketing and Community management, and I ended up doing a whole bunch of the writing for the game.
If you're looking for a fun Hades-Like Platform Fighter with, in my opinion, really solid accessibility features then consider grabbing a copy. It is available on Steam with a 25% discount at the moment.

Hello Tumblr Community!
We’re Clumsy Bear Studio, a tiny indie team, and we’re so excited to share the first trailer for our debut game, Hungry Horrors! 🐻🍽️
Hungry Horrors is a roguelike deck-building adventure set in a magical world inspired by British and Irish folklore. But here’s the twist — instead of fighting monsters, you must cook for them! As a princess, your survival depends on preparing traditional dishes that either satisfy these legendary creatures or… well, let’s just say the consequences aren’t pretty! 😅
Wishlist on Steam
You’ll come across iconic figures from folklore like the Glaistig, Jenny Greenteeth, and Fear Gorta, all while mastering authentic recipes like Champ, Stargazy Pie, and Cranachan. It’s a game full of charm, humour, and strategy, where every dish and encounter is steeped in tradition and myth.
Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think! We’d love to hear from you as we continue to bring this world to life.
🎮 If you’re excited about Hungry Horrors, please wishlist us on Steam! It helps us out a ton and keeps you updated on all the latest news. 🙌

THIS GAME IS FREE RIGHT NOW ON EPIC GAMES GO CLAIM IT RIGHT NOW
I don't often say that you need to play any specific game, everyone has their own preferences and I get that. That being said. You NEED to check out Astrea: Six sided oracles.
FIRST OF ALL, JUST LOOK AT THIS SNIPPET FROM THE STEAM BANNER
Tumblr media
The game is GORGEOUS, and I don't mean in a "this game has good graphics" NO I MEAN AS IN THE ARTSTYLE IS JUST STRAIGHT UP BEAUTIFUL. It's a visual experience like I have never seen before.
But what's even better than the artstyle, is the gameplay. Good lord the gameplay is fantastic. Everything feels like it works together perfectly. And when I say everything, I mean everything. From the dice, the artsyle, the story, your virtues, your health, the enemies' health, your blessings, your sentinels- everything feels in sync with eachother. The sheer amount of synergies you can discover feel endless. (I'm personally a huge fan of the virtue system- making a 'bad' or an 'unlucky' roll still have a significant purpose in your game plan is some genius game design)
Every turn matters. Every turn is a matter of life and death, a good turn is good, but a bad turn can be outright DISASTEROUS. This game WILL have you sitting on the egde of your seat constantly. Every turn is a puzzle to be solved, and every run is a combination of carefully (or not so carefully) picked out dice, with many paths to victory.
Like so many masterpieces of games, the game is easy to learn, but has so much dept to explore that I don't think I'll ever truly master it.
Look. I put 5 hours in the free demo which only includes the first area and only a handful of dice, virtues and characters. This game is gonna get hundreds of hours put into by me. There's a lot to say about the game, but frankly- none of it is enough to encapsulate the full experience. If you're not sold immediatly, you can try the demo first, it has plently of content to get you hooked
NOW GO PLAY IT, IT'S 10% OFF FOR THE LAUNCH! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

I Can't Stop Playing Two-Hand Path
(rescued from a post from r/solo_roleplaying)
I backed Two-Hand Path on Kickstarter and now that it's out I've been playing it daily. It's got the good vibes of a rogue-like video game with modern post-apocalyptic dungeons. The central roll and write mechanic gives you tattoos, jewelry, and scars to define your mage's struggle to survive, and backstory of how they inherited their magic as you try to clear dungeons and complete goals. Your character sheet is literally just a picture of two hands you fill in with details as you play.
I haven't fallen this hard for a solo RPG in a while and it feels like something innovative in the genre, so I wanted to spread the love. Here's a photo of my mage's hands from my most recent runs:

Scars give you more HP, bracelets let you reroll dice, rings let you substitiue their number for numbers on the dice, and tattoos tell your story when prompted in certain encounters.
I've never played anything like it. Anyone else playing? Know of any other roleplaying games with similar roll-and-write mechanics?

Endless Rebirth is out!
Hey everyone, my best friend just released their first TTRPG, Endless Rebirth, after over a year of development and it'd be wonderful if y'all checked it out!
Delve into dungeons, defeat numerous enemies, uncover treasure, level up, and die... a lot. Endless Rebirth is a roguelike dungeon crawler TTRPG running on a brand new d6 based system made from the ground up. Unlock numerous Abilities and customize your loadouts with tons of equipment options, and die to get stronger.
Made to be easy to learn, especially if you have experience with games like D&D, and filled with a ton of tools for the facilitator to build dungeons and enemies. The game includes additional resources and tools to aid in playing and increase accessibility with more in the future. The game is PWYW, so come check it out! There's also a Discord server for it if you want to try some playtests!

Critical PSA to Balatro or Mahjong or general Roguelike Deckbuilder Lovers for the amazing looking upcoming game ULTIMAHJONG!
ULTIMAHJONG is in the exact spirit of the likes of Balatro, Bingle Bingle & other casino/gambling-based roguelikes/deckbuilders that have been inundating the indie gaming scene recently and which I’ve personally been happily drowning in! In this case the base game is Mahjong & it’s straight up Riichi Mahjong based thankfully rather than the deluge of puzzle solitaire tile matching games that overwhelm Steam
Currently has playable demo on top of being Wishlistable. The dev predicts a release this year & I’m absolutely purchasing it on day one if for nothing else than to reward a halfway legitimate Mahjong game!
Speaking of the dev, they themselves ran through a few rounds of the early game to show it off:
youtube
Don’t know how many this post will reach but I’m happy to do my part to raise the population of Mahjong Enthusiasts out here on top of supporting innovative indie devs & their projects!
EDIT:
My luck finding out about these types of personally niche games seems to remain at an all time high because I’m obliged to update this post with a 2nd Roguelike Mahjong Deckbuilder on the horizon: AOTENJO
Similar to ULTIMAHJONG in intent but with its own distinct style & also has a free demo on Steam to try out.
One of AOTENJO’s major features is the inclusion of multiple regional mahjong variants to enrich the variety of the play experience!
Unlike in the case of ULTIMAHJONG, AOTENJO’s developer XO Cat’s YT channel (under the moniker NonToxicEel), lacks a similar in-depth breakdown of the game’s demo but does have a few videos attempting speedruns of the demo and are still a recommended watch to get the game flow & feel they’re aiming for:
youtube
Once again, I happily embrace the Mahjong renaissance we seem to be getting in our post-Mahjong Soul & Balatro indie gaming landscape!
