some thoughts
I'm very aware some people think the strike fell flat during its last few steps, but it's good that we had SOME coordination rather than none. I hope that we can arrange this again, because our action towards Israel should hit it where it hurts - the organizations that support it
At the end of the day, you are fighting with your voices, with your wallet, with your protests, uplifting each-other and honoring the memory of the 26,000+ martyrs who were senselessly killed by the IOF, while also remaining steadfast to protect those who are still alive.
The fact that there are still Palestinians with hope should signal to us all that there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Freedom for all of Palestine. Freedom for all oppressed nations. For Sudan, for Congo, for Yemen, for the Uyghurs, and many more. And if nothing else, please document their memory like Palestinians would want you to.
I will share with you the poem written by the Palestinian poet Refaat Alareer, titled "If I Must Die". He wrote it before being killed by the Israeli army.
If I must die,  you must live  to tell my story  to sell my things  to buy a piece of cloth  and some strings,  (make it white with a long tail)  so that a child, somewhere in Gaza  while looking heaven in the eye  awaiting his dad who left in a blaze—  and bid no one farewell  not even to his flesh  not even to himself—  sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above  and thinks for a moment an angel is there  bringing back love  If I must die  let it bring hope  let it be a tale
Thank you so far for sharing what I've been learning this past week, and cumulatively these past few months. I have hope for Palestine. I just hope that we can break the system so the bloodshed will stop soon enough.
Until then,
CEASEFIRE NOW! FREEDOM TO PALESTINE!

wallahi, you will find nothing in this dunya. this worldly life truly is of no value. turn back to Allah, for He is the only One Who can put your heart at ease. every person will hurt you, every person will disappoint you. people leave one after the other. and do you know who didn't leave and never will leave? Allah swt.
so please, if you have the ability to love, love Allah first.

The US Presidential debate was horrible. It only underscores how bad both actually are, and it doesn't matter to vote either.
i watched clips of the debate. the united states should be ashamed.
your senile american dust pouches suck for sure, but that's exactly why you need to vote. the people who want the orange man with the principles of bigotry and an actual American doomsday event in office will show up to vote. they showed up in 2016 and they will show up again.
from a guy living in a parliamentary republic, i wish y'all had shit like coalitions and multiple parties in government, but because the right to vote has been manipulated against you, it's beyond critical to participate and take back that right. no one in their right mind wants to vote for Biden or Trump but y'all are between a rock and a hard place right now. it's because of your primitive voting system that the free world will be led by one of these doofuses and it's best that you pick the one that will do the lesser damage, even by a little.
think of it this way. Biden isn't gonna live forever. He's older than Trump. Joe Biden has a higher chance of dying while in office, which will bring in the Vice President i.e. a younger person - to take the lead for the Oval Office - at which point it will become the United States' job to protest and turn around the Vice President rather than Trump who is more set in his ways.
y'all have been left very little choice but to try and game the system that's been playing your asses in plain sight. sadly this comes at a time when that strategy doesn't help groups worthy of immediate attention (Palestinians, BIPOC, queer people etc.). the fight in front of you all is long and hard and tough, but it's a fight worth fighting nonetheless.

''Jalal'' is such a dumbass name to give to kosovo, I'm from there and I have NEVER met nor heard of ONE goddamn person with this godforsaken name. Instead of giving kosovo an actual albanian popular name (ex gentian, driton, arianit, ylldrit, bekim, besim, luan ect) tix really decided to go through the himaruya-way by giving him an obscure, extremely rare and goofy-sounding ass name that literally no one from the country has expect maybe a good 40 people at best

vampires In albanian mythology
albanian folktales & vampiric creatures as i’ve known them !
Tumblr media
DHAMPIR / DHAMPIRICA (f.)
“To drink through one’s teeth”
dhamb / dhëmb : teeth pir : To drink
♱ a being born from a vampire & human. as all genders of vampire In balkan folklore are said to greatly prefer human woman, vampirism almost always comes from the father’s side.
♱ dhampirs are capable of normal lives amongst humans since they do not have a strong compulsion for drinking blood & are not weakened by sunlight, but are said to still possess supernatural abilities.
♱ often described as having untamed dark / black hair & no shadow that follows them. other possible descriptors include a large / crooked nose, being covered or smeared with dirt, and having a very deep hollow of the back that could resemble a tail. other balkan regions believe vampires to not have bones, so dhampirs have also been described to have no fingernails & very “soft” bodies.
not much is known on how to injure or weaken a dhampir as they are not known to be violent. they represent more of a bad - omen.
SHTRIGA
“Witch”
shtrigë : evil spirit, witch
♱ a witch who drinks the blood of (typically) infants while they sleep, often transforming into some sort of winged insect (moth, bee, fly, wasp, etc.) as she escapes back into the night. if a victim’s blood is not fully drained, sickness will inevitably kill them UNLESS the shtriga herself cures them (by spitting in their mouth).
♱ often described as a physically disfigured older woman with a “hateful” look and pale eyes. typically known to live deep within forests where they can live hidden & regurgitate the blood of her victims.
♱ can be killed by typical vampiric murders i.e. staking, decapitation, cremation. a cross dipped in holy water is also fatal to a shtriga And if she can be lured into a church, a cross made of pig bones placed at the entrance would effectively trap her. by dipping a silver coin in blood regurgitated by a shtriga, it would become an amulet of protection against any shtriga.
LUGAT
“Devil”
llugat : a frightening, violent person
♱ an extremely violent vampire - like creature. typically male, a lugat is someone who lives in darkness and is evil incarnate. he will reside where the sunlight never reaches (caves, abandoned water wells, old ruins) and stay concealed within these shadows while luring victims to himself. lugats are also said to be able to fly in the night, riding the wind to bleed & feed on people in their sleep.
♱ described as corpse - like with long nails that resemble claws. allegedly lugats are born of people who died tragic or extremely bloody / unhappy deaths, and that the devil enters their body while in the grave and exits with them.
♱ asides the other vampire methods, lugats are especially weakened by dogs & werewolves. dogs barking wildly for no visible reason could mean the arrival of a lugat in your home.

Because I'm thinking about the one time a guy called me black 2 years ago, here's list of ethinicities/nationalities people have incorrectly thought I am (at least those I remember):
black (the other once I can kind of see, this one just confuses me)
turkish (has gotten a lot less since like 2014)
middle eastern (has basically replaced turkish)
albanian (I said algerian, that's clearly not the same, why does this keep happening)
vaguely south european (this one is rare)
french (based on my last name, that is very much not french, also only once)
Nationalities no one has ever assumed, but would been correct:
german (fucking hell)
algerian (the only person who got close was someone who was also half north african, I wonder why)
