I can’t believe I forgot about this guy!

I just remembered this guy. Fun fact: Akira Ito was formerly Kazuki Takahashi’s editor and he did make a few cards when he wrote Yugioh R. When I saw this card as a kid my mind instantly thought it looked like a Royal Paladin from Vanguard. That’s because it’s the same guy who drew them👀.

But seriously look at this proto-Royal Paladin. I want to give this to Aichi but if I did so I would likely need to lower the power levels of everyone’s DM decks. Also this guy has no upgrade or retrains so it’s a dead end. Still I feel like it would be wrong to ignore this guy.

Here are some ideas for how decks could change with a power level adjustment. These decks are much closer to the power level of the normal anime with few new cards used as possible. They are mostly used if they narratively fit. For example Aichi, Kai, and Ren:

Masahiro is a huge fan of bdsm and has drawn inspiration from fetish and fashion magazines. this film contains bdsm and erotica surreal imagery. Masahiro depicts womanhood and symbolizes the 'Womb'. Akira Yamaoka composed the music and Takashi Ito modeled and designed the 'Mouth'.

So the SH2R post-release "discourse" has begun, and it is as dull, circular, pointless, predictable, onanistic, and pedestrian as you would expect.

It's hard to tell where the wokewhining grifters end and fans with genuine criticisms begin, but even the latter group's concerns about the game are honestly just fucking boring.

No, it was never meant to be a replacement for the original classic. (It hasn't gone anywhere, for one.) But it is an exemplary modern horror title that remains faithful to the source material. Considering the odds against Bloober Team (not to mention Konami's marketing department's meddling), and the absurdly high expecations for this game, they still stuck the landing, and thus deserve every bit of praise they receive for it.
