A redemption arc for Sephiroth (completely unearned, at that) would be a greater insult to FF7's narrative than even Crisis Core. But Square have proven to be cowards as of late, trying to please everyone, unwilling to follow through on the story's original, subversive, leftist narrative (which means satirizing the "legend of Sephiroth" into the ground), so I wouldn't expect much from them. Part 3 is destined to be letdown for anyone who cares about meaningful storytelling.
No redemption arc for this POS.
#final fantasy vii#sephiroth#it's like at some point Square just stopped giving a shit about the meaning of this story and decided to try and please everyone equally#if you're the kind of simp who cares more about wingboi here than the people he victimized you're everything that's wrong with this fandom#also#crisis core was a mistake#and#first soldier is puerile mary sue garbage

Them: "They can't be together because she's dead!" Me: "My bad. I forgot that this was Final Gritty Reality and not Final FANTASY." I have a whole-ass rant about this, btw.
"I enjoy Clerith."
"ERM HEY SO UHHHH DID YOU AERITH IS DEAD??? THAT SHE DIES???? DID YOU KNOW THAT??? SHE'S IN THE LIFESTREAM?? DID I MENTION SHE'S DEAD??"
Thanks, captain fucking obvious. I didn't know one of the most spoiled gaming moments in history, I didn't know about this super secret obscure fact! Thank you! :))) I do know that Aerith dies, did you learn that from some Tiktok edits???
They say this and act like our minds are gonna be immediately changed LMFAO!!!!

Aerith and Tifa 👏🏻 I was really doubting if I should animate it or not 🤭 but I am glad that I did. 🥰💖
Which bestie would you give a high-five? Let me know in the comments. 🤗

"Cloud was never in SOLDIER! GOTTEM!"
Yes, I'm sure he's just heartbroken about not being admitted into Shinra's little war criminal clubhouse, especially after he mopped the floor with their leader three times over.
People who think this is some sort of gotcha need to stop patting themselves on the back for being media literate, especially after demonstrating the polar opposite. Pretending that this is somehow to his detriment only means they can recite the basic facts of the story but fail to interpret what they mean. Please stop embarrassing yourselves.
#final fantasy vii#cloud strife#zack fair#sephiroth#shinra#media literacy#(and this fandom's lack thereof)#seriously... put this one out to pasture already#it's giving “started with Crisis Core” vibes
