The Origin of the Species (2024)

Devilman Yaoius is the forefather of the “Doomed Yaoi��� genus of anime ships. Its offshoots, Hanta Yaoius (Greater Leopika) and Eva Yaoius (Kawoshin), retain their forefather’s biblical symbolism and dark, Lovecraftian undertones, yet evolved in a distinctly divergent manner. Hanta and its decendants have a distinctly more banter-y tension than the romantic worship of Eva and its descendants. Interestingly, Chainsawman Yaoius (Akiangel) retains characteristics of both Eva and Hanta. Additionally, Madoka Yaoius (Madohomu), developed a trait known as “girl yaoi,” presented as longer hair and skirts instead of pants.
