The Other Elements
This is the fifth part of my elemental series! Today we will explore other elemental systems, possible other elements within the system, and other cultural explorations into elemental systems!
So, we have looked at the basic elements, earth, air, fire, and water, but what about the rest? What about all the other magical systems out there?
Why are there sometimes other elements?
Often times when we are researching the elements, a lot of spaces will have other elements that are important to their culture or religious framework. The most basic outline we can see across multiple cultures is the veneration of 'earth, air, fire, and water' but most cultures also venerate elements outside of that, whether its the concept of a spirit or another element that plays a role in life like snow, they will be venerated differently.
As science progressed, and as esoterica were working on an elemental system, they started grouping together things. An example is with snow, WE know that snow comes from water, so it has become an aspect of water in western systems, however to an ancient culture that may not have known that, it became its own element with distinct lore and features. This can stem from multiple reasons, like if its a cold climate so half of the year is covered in snow spawning a cultures need to venerate it differently. Additionally societies each had their own needs and philosophical beliefs which called for the addition of multiple other elements. We will explore more about the nuances of this later.
Another aspect that is worth exploring is that some systems do away with the 4 main elements all together, take Feng Shui or Wu Xing a 5 element system that composes earth of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Now, this system came from need and philosophy, it is a reflection of the culture it came from (9th century China) with strong emphasis on harmony and figuring out a place in the world.
Now that we have looked into what I am talking about, lets look into some nuance.
What are aspects and names? Why are they not elements themselves?
As we previously explored in an example, lets look at snow. Snow is now an aspect of water in western elemental systems because we know that snow directly comes from water, why isn't it an element itself anymore? Snow has become an aspect, or a form of the element of water with its own distinct name, associations, and lessons outside of the whole of water. What gives?
Similar to how gods have epithets (aspects of their character) and archetypes told in stories, the elements have the same thing, instead its observable traits that come from the whole. For example, fire is also ember, charcoal, and wands because fire is associated with all of those things, they are extensions of the whole that offer a unique perspective. It is an aspect you can work with, like picking an epithet to work with in deity work.
With this in mind, it explains how we get 'darker elements' or pieces of elements. Now some things cannot be classified in this way, so they become elements all on their own. For example, some groups will include elements like 'nature' to describe the living things and use earth to describe the unliving things, it is spiritually distinct from earth, and has its own associations. While in the west people lump that in with earth, it isn't true for every system and often times there is spiritual and religious significance to the distinction.
Because of all of this, personal elemental systems are extremely unique to someone's region and beliefs, Its why for some groups snow is still its own distinct element, or even sometimes considered a distinct byproduct of an element of a god, like a child, making it a distinct element. There is not right or wrong answer when it comes to the elements or elemental expression, what's important is that you find a system that resonated with you, the land you are standing on, and the lands that came before you.
Something important to recognize is that elements are very naturalistic and are intrinsically linked to human activity, things like climate change, terrain change, and more can influence how an elemental system evolves. It is why it matters that you research both the land you are standing on, and the land your ancestors walked on, so you get a more rounded view of how the elements have adapted and you start learning more about what resonates and connects with you personally.
What are some examples?
Keep in mind, these are just some examples and don't reflect every culture out there! I wanted to list a couple examples to get get you thinking about where these systems came from and why. As a reminder; people are not a monolith, lets not treat them as such, these are just a couple examples from around the globe, research is key when looking into personal associations. These are just some bite-sized beliefs Greek Classical Elements Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Aether Philosophy: Empedocles (5th century BCE): Proposed the four elements as eternal substances forming all matter. Aristotle (4th century BCE): Added Aether (divine, unchanging substance of the heavens). Celtic Traditions Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit/Otherworld Symbolized life’s cyclical nature and the connection between the physical and spiritual realms.
Hindu Panchabhutas Earth (Prithvi), Water (Apas), Fire (Agni), Air (Vayu), Space/Ether (Akasha) Foundational for Ayurveda and many spiritual traditions, they are the building blocks to life.
Hawaiian Elements Earth (ʻĀina), Water (Wai), Fire (Ahi), Air (Makani), Spirit (Mana) Reflects the balance of nature and spiritual energy (Mana) vital to Hawaiian culture. Native American Traditions Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Sacred Directions or Spirit (varies by tribe) Can be tied to the Medicine Wheel but not always, with an emphasis on balance and harmony.
Other System Ideas When in the process of researching, its possibly you will find other systems and beliefs, for example some sources online will say "The Norse believe in 12 classical elements" when in actuality it could be mistranslations, adaptations from medieval times, and so much more. Its important to consult with historical sources and people living within these cultures to make sure you are getting a full and accurate picture into their elemental systems! There are many, many others around the globe, with their own beliefs and systems, it is absolutely worth doing a deep dive to see what systems exist and why.
What is the western elemental system?
The western elemental system is a generalized system of elements (usually 4-5) that stems from ancient Greece, but was later expanded on by alchemistic and esoteric traditions! During the Hellenistic period, the Greek elemental system merged with Hermeticism and Alchemy in an attempt to build more with scientific practices, to which the western elemental system was finalized and integrated into western occult traditions during the medieval period! The things that made this system so unique is that it did not rely on any major mythology, but rather was used to explain concepts of the natural world. Because of the secular use, as well as a spiritual one, people began using this system to label tarot suits, herbs, astrology signs, and its where a lot of the 'elemental labels' come from today! A vast majority of sources you see use the western elemental system, which has its own pro's and con's especially when you cant pin point the origins to a belief, so remember to use researching skills when looking at these systems.
While we do have this system, we also began to see the spring of "cardinal witches", witches that use the cardinal directions to associate their practice to a certain element. The western system does attribute the elements to specific cardinal directions, so a west witch would mean a witch who delves into matters of water, the past, divination, and the psyche, because those are all associations with the western idea of 'west' These labels come from pop culture, folklore, and occult practices alike that have greatly shaped the way we view the western elemental system.
Final Notes
While no elemental system is perfect, we are exposed to it constantly on our spiritual and magical journeys. It can be a wonderful tool when learning about magic and how we interact with it on a worldly basis! I hope you found this informational piece as interesting as I did! Do you feel like you subscribe to an elemental system? where does it come from? Let me know in the comments below :) Fair Winds

🔮 Elemental Witch🔮
//don’t claim it as your own and/or repost it on other platforms// An Elemental Witch is a practitioner who deeply connects with and harnesses the energies of the natural elements - Earth, Air, Fire, and Water - in their magical and spiritual practices. From a perspective deeply rooted in nature, the Elemental Witch views the world as a tapestry of interconnected energies, each element holding its own unique power and symbolism.
Here's a breakdown of how an Elemental Witch interacts with the elements and their perspective on life:
Earth: The Elemental Witch reveres the grounding and nurturing energy of the Earth. They work with crystals, herbs, and natural materials to connect with the stability and abundance of the Earth element. They honor the cycles of nature and find strength in the deep-rooted wisdom of the earth.
Air: The Elemental Witch embraces the element of Air, representing intellect, communication, and clarity. They connect with the winds, use visualization techniques, and work with feathers or incense to invoke the expansive and transformative qualities of the Air element.
Fire: The Elemental Witch harnesses the passionate and transformative energy of Fire. They work with candle magic, perform rituals under the light of the flames, and embrace the power of creativity, inspiration, and courage that the Fire element embodies.
Water: The Elemental Witch honors the emotional depth and intuition of the Water element. They connect with bodies of water, use water in their rituals, and attune to the ebb and flow of emotions and spiritual insights that the element of Water represents.
From the Elemental Witch's perspective, life is a dance of interconnected energies, and they seek to harmonize with the natural world to bring balance and transformation into their lives. They see themselves as stewards of the elements, working in harmony with nature to manifest their intentions and honor the cycles of creation and destruction.
In their magical practice, the Elemental Witch aligns with the energies of the elements to manifest their desires, gain wisdom, and bring healing and balance to themselves and the world around them. They view the elements as allies and draw upon their energies to create change, find inspiration, and deepen their spiritual connection.
Overall, the Elemental Witch lives their life attuned to the rhythms of nature, finding beauty, strength, and guidance in the elemental forces that shape the world. Their perspective on life is one of reverence, connection, and co-creation with the natural elements, seeking to weave their magic in harmony with the earth, air, fire, and water.

I believe in incorporating the plants that live and grow around you into your spiritual practice and common Lilac is prevalent in my neighborhood. During spring it’s incredibly fragrant and I love to harvest the wood and blossoms to make spiritual oils and more. I believe in it comes in a variety of different colors, but I’ll be focusing on its purple and white aspects.
Common Lilac
Gender: Feminine & Masculine
Planet: Venus & Mars
Element: Water & Air
Zodiac: Gemini
Metaphysical powers: Spring, renewal, growth, exorcism, banishing, protection, playfulness, good fortune & misfortune, flirtation, romance, attraction, cognition, memory, wisdom, divination, illusions, pleasure
Lilac wood is commonly used to enhance memory, concentration and more due to its air like properties. This wood is excellent for wands and is also said to be a great offering to forest spirits.
Allegedly, according to several sources the sprigs are used in Russia to imbue children with luck and wisdom. In the UK, in a small localized part of England it was believed to be bad luck to bring white lilacs into the house, but finding one with five petals was considered lucky. The purple and red varieties were less feared but were excluded from house decor as bringers of misfortune.
Since the flowers only bloom for a short period, just a couple of weeks depending on where you live, you only get a brief period of time to harvest, the fragrant blossoms. They typically appear between Beltane & Litha, but often can start budding in late spring in April. This is why they are also associated with spring, renewal, growth and perseverance since they also have the ability to push and penetrate through harsh an heavy winter energies. They’re great for initiating and facilitating energetic breakthroughs and new growth.
In these fairly modern times, they are used for banishing negative energy, ghosts, ghouls and other assorted haunts, specifically the purple variety. They are also considered a romantic sort of flower, that inspires flirtation, playfulness, summer flings/love and short attractions. It may not bring you a marriage proposal but it does bring a fun, playful energy that’s good to incorporate in glamours and love work & it can even defend you from the evil eye.
Could you see yourself incorporating Lilacs into your spiritual practice ?

A Baby Witch's First Grimoire
Grimoire Entry 13 - Marijuana in Witchcraft
Disclaimer: This blog post is intended for readers ages 21 and older, or 18 and older with a medical marijuana card. I do not condone the misuse of marijuana by anyone.
My history with marijuana
Back in early 2020, about a few months before June, I started to smoke marijuana for medicinal purposes. I had already been practicing magic for 4 years at this point. I had no idea what I was doing and had no structure for my craft. I started smoking once a night and occasionally would feel compelled to light a candle. Over time I started to notice myself performing magic when I was high. I realized that this really helped me to tap into my higher self and made my intent much stronger. Now that I'm older and wiser I've learned many other uses for marijuana that I had never even considered beforehand.
What are some uses of marijuana in witchcraft?
Cleansing
Divination
Blessing
Charging
Connecting with your higher self
Smoke blends
Spell writing
How to use marijuana in witchcraft
1. Cleansing yourself:
Take 3-5, 3 second hits from your cart or bong and visualize the smoke carrying away the negativity. If you're a heavyweight take 5-10, 3 second hits from your cart or bong. If you're a lightweight take 2, 3 second hits from your cart or bong.
2. Cleansing your space:
Start by standing at the entrance of your space, the area you walk through to enter and exit the space, and take a 3 second hit from your cart or bong. Exhale the smoke and visualize it clearing any negative energy. Move in a clockwise manner around the corners of the space, taking a 3 second hit for each corner.
3. Cleansing & charging an item:
Take the item you want to cleanse and charge. Clear the item of any dirt or dust that has collected on it. Take a 5 second hit from your cart or bong and exhale the smoke across the item you want to cleanse. Take a 3 second hit from your cart or bong and exhale over the item again to charge it.
4. Connecting with your higher self and writing spells:
Smoke until you feel a slight tingling sensation, or until you're high but still functional. Find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed and sit in a comfortable position. Allow yourself to meditate on the sensations you feel and all of your senses. Allow yourself to really focus on each one. When the time feels right begin writing down any spells that come to mind.
5. Create a smoke blend and use it for divination
Make a smoke blend that is 2 parts marijuana, 1 part intention herb, and 1/2 part aromatic herb from the list of smokable herbs listed below. Call upon your deity of choice and smoke in their name. Follow the method outlined in method 4 to connect with your higher self. Allow your divine self to commune with your deity of choice. Make sure you thank them when you're done.
Smokeable Herbs:
Lavender* - Good for healing, relaxation, and sleep
Rose Petals* - For love and beauty
Damiana - Increases the calming and relaxing effects of weed, used for lust and passionate love
Mullein - Communication with spirits and protecting oneself from evil spirits
Blue Lotus Petals* - Increases the calming and relaxing effects of weed, used for lunar magic, divination, and connection with deities
Wormwood and Mugwort - Used for divination, protection, and psychic power. (Do not smoke Mugwort if you're on birth control or are pregnant)
Mint* and Peppermint* - Used for good luck, money, energy, love, protection, and clearing negativity
Cloves* - Used to clear negative energy, attract money, stop gossip
Red Raspberry Leaves - Used to ease symptoms of PMS, offers protection, and love
Catnip - Relieves period cramps
Motherwort - Induces astral travel, channeling, increases psychic awareness, and eases anxiety
* - Aromatic Herb

Advice for the signs based on which element dominates your chart 🔥🌍💧💨
i was meditating and recieved great insight into the thought process of some signs through the literal embodiments of their element.
Earth signs: are grounded and practical but they can also easily get stuck literally or mentally in certain thought processes, because just like the earth it takes a lot to get them to actually move or change, like earthquakes or mudslides or even Pangea just over long periods of time, or sometimes it just needs a comet to come in and completely change the way they work or think, they need to remember that they cannot let themselves become stagnant and know that though it takes great effort to change--especially the way they think, they have the hands to mold who they wish to become.
Fire signs: ever changing, growing and always going towards what brings them joy or enlightenment, can feel like they over power a space and are lonely in their growth, but free in their dance to learn the balance between destruction and creation and what it means for them, to keep finding a light or to be their own, they are centered and sure of what they want but their unpredictable way of moving and changing can be jarring to others, while others might fear them because of their self assuredness they need to remember their center of good and come from a place of warmth, you can be your own light, but don't let your self destructiveness take over
Air signs: free flowing, goes where the wind takes them, sometimes not being able to put action into their own lives but other times being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, but they can get sucked into their own heads lost in thought and unsure of where they're going, Air signs abstract patterns are what keeps them excited but can make them lonely, they need to flow with life while knowing which direction they're going, and to let others into their lives and not let the people they like slip from their grasp from being too carried away with other things, sometimes you need someone to keep you grounded, it's okay to need others
Water signs: can sometimes fall too deep into their emotions, accidently consuming themselves in their own waves or the ripples created by others, can turn themselves into the most fearsome tsunami rather than remembering the calm waters they can have, always absorbing other waters, you need to center your emotions within yourself and remember that you are a creature of growth, ever changing, some days you will feel like a smooth sailing river and other days will feel like thrashing rain, and you need to center yourself and remember that that is okay

✨The Air Element✨
Direction: East
Correspondences: Speed, strength, clarity, lightness, movement, momentum, communication
Air is a powerful element that represents change and movement.
As humans, we would not be able to survive without Air, but as witches, we would not be able to craft without it.
Air is responsible for carrying our intentions to the Source so that they can be heard by the Universe. The element of Air allows us to send our magick across the globe and through the cosmos, and it aids us in creating change.
Air generates power and movement. When we’re working with the Air element we can use it to create momentum in our lives and in our rituals. Air can bring us clarity and help us connect with the Gods and Source. Mercury is representative of the air element as a planet, a metal, and a deity. Mercury is the planet of the mind and it rules over communication and technology. From the breath we draw in to the breath we release to speak, we would not be able to communicate without the power of air.

Who would be carrying? I think Jennette would because I'm scared Athanasia might experience the same health complications that Diana did
Oh, I kinda want it to be Athy, because I get off on her suffering ♡
but Claude would rather stick his hand inside and rip her baby out of the womb than let her give birth to Jennette's demon child xD
Roger asking how his grandchild is doing:
Like Claude is not gonna risk his Diana 2.0 dying in childbirth as long as he's alive 😭

Working with Air
Welcome to the third part of my elemental series! Today we will explore some aspects of working with air like offerings, devotional activities, common lessons, aspects, and more! With all that said lets get started!
To preface: I am a devotee to water itself, I am a west witch practioner which means I work within the domain of water, the past, divination, and psyche! I also am a general elemental practioner and have experience working with all of the elements and their aspects!
What is working with air like?
While looking at verified gnosis and cultural nuance some things remain familiar, things like air being both stagnant and rushing, life giving, and more! It is a major backbone (Much like all the elements are for each other) in the way that all organisms that preform aerobic respiration (Air breathing) need oxygen, air, and a form of atmosphere including water based animals. Air does not have a concept of gender (same with all the elements), however you can always ask as a bonding opportunity or follow a cultural addition that may apply pronouns to an element.
In general, air is primordial, but it is considered one of the youngest of the elements mainly because magma, water, and a form of earth had existed before O2, and an actual atmosphere. With that in mind, the air ended up facilitating a lot of growth here on earth, and from there air has many aspects! Air has tempest, dead air, atmosphere, wind, and breath! There are plenty of types of air spirits like syliphs, Sylphons, Spirulites, and more.
Some people work with wind, air anomaly's like tornados and wind storms, and breathwork. Wind and breath teaches more gentle and peaceful lessons about how to take a step back and take a moment for yourself. Someone who works with tempest might receive more lessons relating to coming into your own power and growing a backbone. Each aspect will have different lessons and personality traits, but each of them still follow the same lessons of balance between motion and pause, and even speaking.
In your relationship you may be called to breath work, using feathers, and more that we will be discussing a bit later, however air is will see us like any other animal, and is more apprehensive to engage in a conversation so practioners may have to call out to it first. UPG: Air is really rushing and sometimes can be overwhelming, and we have had many wonderful conversations relating to hard work, taking things as they come, and not falling into unhealthy stagnation. Air has not been very direct and tends to come as needed into my space and isnt an omnipresent force! In general I have needed to call on it first for information or advice, it is also quite stoic and serious when needed but also upbeat and kind when needed.
Finally, air does have some birth connotations, but they are directly indicative of the relationships it has with other elements. Air cannot do its job in a vacuum like space until some level of atmosphere is established. However 'air' can mean different things to different people, and in a way taking a first breath is life!
What are common offerings?
People tend to keep an altar to air near doorways, windows, and living rooms because of the rush of energy as people walk through doors, the energy of change from windows, and more! historically a lot of air honoring comes from within like being outdoors, having windows open, and doing breath work in a special place because of the motion you can feel from the air.
In air practices there are heavy emphasis on working and action! this comes from most of air needing to be moved to be felt, as often times we dont notice when we are breathing or walking through the precious gas. Moving air like with breath, feathers, and fans can be really helpful.
Some common practices include meditation and breath work, energy motion, dance, song, using feathers, fans, and incense scrying are all really common aspects of work! Another aspect is action, doing divination with clouds, the sky, and smoke is helpful, and then another thing is storm chasing, tracking the weather, and observing the atmosphere can also be really good forms of connection.
What are some correspondences?

Sylphs and the Air Kingdom.

We go onto the elementals of Air! The Sylphs!
I don't know honestly what people think of the air elements, and the air elementals but they're anything but the gentle creatures they are. In truth the Air kingdom is more about the open heart and gentle approach to not get overwhelmed. If there's anything that can sum up the whole essence of the air kingdom is that.... It is Refinement. To Quote Vimalananda
"Most Westerners today believe that all their desires, and their sexual desires in particular, should be gratified immediately. But there is nothing speedy about refinement; it takes time and restraint. Refinement occurs automatically in all aspects of life, and especially in sex and in spirituality, if you just slow down. Westerners think the spiritual urge can be gratified in the same way that they gratify their sex urges. No wonder that most of them end up with fake gurus.”
If I already put the main idea is that of REFINEMENT. Then that means I should build on that with certain aspects of this refinement that bring that refinement, I would call them, Appeasement, Detachment, Slowing Down, and Service. I will preface, very explicitly that all work with Sylphs and Air elementals is better to be done through an intercessor, angel, god, etc and whatever else you take as a guiding and protective spirit instead of dealing with them directly.
Appeasing/Praying For Spirits of Air
I feel uncomfortable to even call it appeasing because these spirits usually are full of wisdom and light but often tend to be easily slighted or easily fickle if we are not careful with them. Do I mean that ALL sylphs are fickle or easily offended? of course not but the general flightiness of their elements can make them jump from one thing to another, to have that excessive force without grounding. Don't you find sometime when you get in argument to feel like you're "flying in rage" or flying heedlessly into the situation. That's all there's to it, pray for the spirits because if you die then who will pray for you? who would give you light and stability if you don't give it to them.
Detachment and Slowing Down
The best way to attain the detachment from the rushing winds and tempest is simply to slow down. If you're rushing through the prayer then you will get overwhelmed with it, if you rush through your prayer, exercises, and meditation then you will be rushed by it. If we remember the Undine's post then we can see the same reflective nature of spirits and that they often reflect our tendencies and behaviorism. If we come to the spirits rushing them like a tornado then the air element aspect of practice will start rushing us and pushing us like a tornado and we might want to slow down and take a breather. Even in Writing, in talking, in playing, in working, in praying, in sleeping, in doing your day to day life. Yes, the clock is ticking but the faster you go the more stuck you get. I am not advising people to like detach themselves emotionally or intellectually and become jaded but more of slowing down, so you can have that *space* between you and your life and not get overwhelmed.
Service
Service here implies serving someone something of value, that aspect is pretty weird to think of but when we take the time not to think about ourselves but to think of other we will find a great deal of blessings coming our way. If there's anything that Air elemental can teach you is that humbling presence when you walk out of water and Earth and see the sky above you. People can overlook how humbling the firmament look like, literally when you look at the Sky and see the great expanding heaven above you then you can't say or do anything but be in awe of the greatness of the world. What can we serve? That's a question for you to answer honestly, but that's an essential point I would like to emphasis in the Air. Serving elevates more than just being "here", there's a lot more to just grabbing stuff forcefully and grace plays a huge role in this. Let the Ray of Thine Intelligence and the warmth of Thy Love penetrate even unto us; then that which is volatile shall be fixed, the shadow shall be a body, the Spirit of Air shall be a soul, the dream shall be a thought. And no longer shall we be swept away by the Tempest, but we shall hold the bridles of the Winged Steeds of Dawn, and we shall direct the course of the Evening Breeze to fly before Thee.
Until Next time, with the Fire that doesn't lie. PS: my friend, @witches-bottle is doing a series on elemental work on a faster pace than me, I recommend you go check them out :D

Elemental Work
A little blurb I thought I'd write on the way I see the elements in my practice, as they are very important all throughout in my practice and my clairsenses.
First, while some use five elements, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Spirit (Also called Space, Void, or Soul, but I use Spirit), I use the primary four, with Spirit being what is already within us as living beings. I will explain more about the element of Spirit at the end.
Fire
Direction: East
Colors: Red, orange, yellow, white, pink
Feeling: Strength, Fury, Passion, Energy, Excitement, Struggle
Planets: Sun, Mars, Venus
Signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Cards: (Playing cards) Spades, (Tarot) Swords
Arcana: The Chariot, The Sun, Strength, The Tower
Short summary: Fire exudes raw energy, unlike someone that might be more Earth-aligned, which can give off power as well, that power is usually more controlled and sensible. Fire shows the start of a struggle or challenge, or it's a focus on being blunt and upfront, or heading straight into something.
Water
Direction: West
Colors: Blue, light-blue, teal, sea-green, turquoise
Feeling: Emotional & Spiritual sensitivity, Love, Care, Bonds & Relationships, Turbulence & Balance
Planets: Moon, Neptune, Venus
Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
Cards: (Playing cards) Hearts, (Tarot) Cups
Arcana: The Lovers, The Moon, Death, High Priestess
Short summary: Water like the sea, holds the push and pull of emotion, and connects with the moon, to help us connect spiritually to our higher selves, or the divine. With all this in mind, it's often tied to representations of emotion and mentality as well as love, sensitivity, and relationships.
Earth
Direction: South
Colors: Brown, black, green, metals
Feeling: Grounded, Secure, Healing, Growth, Power, Wealth
Planets: Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto
Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Cards: (Playing cards) Diamonds, (Tarot) Pentacles
Arcana: Temperance, Justice, The Devil, The Emperor, The Empress
Short summary: Powerful and steady, Earth is always in control and secure of itself, or stubborn and of the material world. Because of its ties to the material and security, healing and personal growth is the usual feeling surrounding it, as well as a focus on wealth and gain.
Air
Direction: North
Colors: White, grey, light-blue
Feeling: Freedom, Imagination, Creativity, Communication, Balance
Planets: Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter
Signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Cards: (Playing cards) Clubs, (Tarot) Wands
Arcana: The Star, The Wheel, The Magician, The Fool
Short summary: Free and loose, Air strives for freedom and imagination, often being found where one's creativity and freewill prevail. It can be fickle, but necessary for a flourishing and healthy life, as its energy exists as the most free and open-ended of all elements, while still interested in the ideal balance of wisdom, knowledge and the road to enlightenment.
Spirit
Direction: The Void, the Inner self
Feeling: Life, Spiritual Enlightenment, Spiritual Energy
Arcana: The World, Judgement
Short summary: Now, this is a special situation. I believe that while the four elements can be around most things, the fifth and final element is within all spirits (living, dead, or divine) or things that any spirit has charged or left imprinted with their energy. Whether that be nature spirits, regular humans, deities, etc., the Spirit element isn't as commonly found in all things. This element comes from within us as the spiritual energy flowing through any being and represents spiritual enlightenment and life as well as the absence of such.
Note: The planets placed here are not in the context of their traditional astrological signs, this is based on UPG (Unverified Personal Gnosis), and to give a different perspective. The way I see it, the planets are fluid in meaning and domain. This depends on the context of the intention towards dealing with the planets and their meanings. Aside from that, people have their own meanings and feelings for the elements, this plays into the difference in interpretation as well.
Note (2): The Major Arcana given, although not all are listed, this is strictly a personal interpretation, and you're free to comment or give opinions, but understand that this is simply my interpretation and I also do not specialize well with tarot.
This will definitely change with time, and feel free to comment your own opinions, UPG, interpretations, or questions!
