Anyway, Army, Marines, Navy, & Nat. Guard haven't had long hair since the Revolution. Coast Guard's hair has always been short. Air Force cut hers short all the way back in '49 during a particular bought of self-consciousness about fitting in with the guys. So Space Force comes around, and she has long hair and wants to keep it long and I just keep imagining the rest of the branches huddled around a computer watching youtube tutorials on how to do buns & braids & how to keep bumps out of ponytails. Group project, it is a good thing Space doesn't mind sitting still for so long. The first time they got a dutch braid right they went out to celebrate it was a big deal.

Honestly I always mostly just think of the [looks at notes] 3 managers Harry was friends with when thinking of what he lost but considering he's that old and has been jumping between franchises so much and also the fact Every Fucking Phoney (save for 3) got scrapped by the time we meet him; how much as this man lost? How many people he cared about has he seen die gruesome deaths again and again? Has he managed to find time to process this to grieve or has he just desensitized himself to the situation entirely? I wonder if some vague memory or reaction from how he dealt w this while in the war is how he keeps it at bay. Though it's rich of me to take his formality at face value when he has shown to not be a stranger to strong emotional reactions. Much to think about!

we got a new coworker who is cool and i really like but my managers are giving him a little more heat for mistakes than i usually see from them and considering he’s a black man it does Not look good

#like. he dropped some nugs right. and when we drop weed on the ground we have to waste it #and it’s something we have ALL done. and if youre new to weed jobs it WILL happen #so when he did it i walked him through the process. which is how it was always done #and the day after it happens they approach him and act like it was done all wrong and that it wasn’t communicated w next shift who had to-#package it end of day?even though he did?#and went on about consequences and i think he mentioned they said even being forced to buy it??#like what the Hell???i have NEVER heard of that before #i have dropped and SHATTERED a jar before. i know for a fact my manager did too and wasted well over an ounce #i was never told i needed to compensate for it #we just take the L and move on #until now fucking Apparently. i was always on guard with them since they screwed over my ex coworker/friend who is native mexican #which REALLY pissed me fof bc i fucking love them and as a detached native mexican they encouraged my reconnection efforts #and helped me with it too. easily one of the most important new friendships i ever made and they fucked her over #and we know her not being white was part of it. now it’s happening again #i wont have that deep a connection w this new coworker but i think hes great. nice and easy to talk to and work with.#hes kind of exactly what we need but theyre being difficult w him and it’s pissing me tf off #well he at least has me on his side if he needs it. he doesn’t take this job That seriously bc he’s kinda just here for fun #so he’s pretty shrug about it but doesn’t stop us from shittalking w each other about them lol #IM took edibles right after work and had to air my frustrations #txt

#a biscuit's rambles #was at a party and uhhhhhh. well. it wasnt. very fun #i mean ive been stressed for ages and i didnt manage to get into the mood before anything even happened so that does make a difference ofc #but i also did retreat outside for some space n air n good music and uh.#yeah. i was gone for a full hour and no one ever noticed i even left. kinda. depressing #also so many of my friends are picking up so many unhealthy habits and its terrifying yay #its not my job nor my ability to save them i cant do more than offer some help but damn that does hurt #but like. cant wait to get out of here anyway. i need to meet people who actually have similarities with me #i cant connect to any of them including my best friends and its getting more and more obvious #well. to me. idk how much they even notice of me lol #But on the bright side that one alt place for teens Exists so ill go there soon and see if i meet anyone there #anyone who like. gets me a little. or at least listens to what i consider actually good music #god the music at that party was so incredibly awful #and i dont drink and my brain didnt manage to detach into a Silly State close to being slightly drunk so i got the full force of it lmao #anywayyyyy #my mum is working with me to possible get a diagnosis of what my brain weirdness even is so! yay for that!

#legit just went the whole process of #oh wouldn’t it be cool if he was a test pilot (has not reread the comics and was going off the movies)#-> him being an air force test pilot is doubly significant given that was the fast track to astronaut candidacy for a long time #-> he did technically get to be an astronaut huh #and then i went and googled and yeah. that’s just. the real character . bc they’re good at their jobs. fuckin love this character man #i’ve attended two conferences with test pilots and they’re fascinating man those folks are hella intelligent but such a unique culture #if i ever actually write that au i was talking about i need to come up with an ironic call sign for him #i do think modern ben would be more fun as a nasa test pilot. just bc of the slight tension btwn him and reed. and he so strongly fits the #military archetype that it would be interesting to have that juxtaposed with him not being military #it would take some character work but you could do smthn interesting with it

I have paid off about $18,000 of student loans (like just did the pay off early amount rather than waiting 10+ years to pay almost double because of interest) and I still have almost 100k left...

#I paid off the ones that don't qualify for loan forgiveness #Also other than a part time job before joining the Air Force #I haven't used my degree for anything #I didn't join as an officer #and my current job doesn't require a degree #(in fact most people I've worked with look down on education as a whole so that's cool)

#personal #Abbie speaks #I always felt that way too until it was my best friends who were in that situation #Choosing between military or working a mimimum wage job for the rest of their lives #Because they couldn't go to college since they had to take care of their families #And now because they can't afford it #I don't like the military and I'd rather kms than join it #But I am privledged enough to have never been in that situation and I never will #So I refuse to judge someone else for what they do to survive #Especially since they're just in the national guard and air force so they don't actually do anything
