It's fun how, whenever DE was asked a specific lore question in the AMA, there usually was a non-answer, which makes sense, since a lot of things aren't set in stone (I really don't mind, I don't want specific numbers and like the speculation aspect of the lore), but I am also a gremlin and will perform Malicious Compliance.

Anyways, long story short - someone asked the Corpus Age Question (even mentioning how Ergo looks older than Frohd despite being his pupil), and I think Megan did a jokey non-answer how their aging depends on how much they praise the void.

WELL, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A LITTLE STORY I COOKED IN MY BRAIN-

ok, it's not that big of a deal and sorta irrelevant, but here is a tl;dr:

When Nef and Ergo were younger, an accident happened on a ship they were working on and the void drive created a portal and they fell through. They got lost in a weird liminal space but managed to find one another and get out.

To this day, Ergo thinks that Nef is a little bit off. So basically - Nef died in the accident and Ergo took back with him a void construct which may or may not be tainted by Wally.

There is no bigger meaning, well, unless the accident never happened but it's Ergo coping with the fact that the Nef he fell in love with is nothing like the Nef of today so once he learns about the Tenno, the Duviri Paradox and all the void shenanigans, he convinces himself that he took the wrong Nef home and that the real one is Out There.

Anyways context, fucker decides to terrorize Ares WAY after the main story coz he's silly-goofy and bored. There is an actual reason he's around he's just not gonna say no to being a pest and hijacking the poor guys room.

I picture son of Poseidon Nico as still having a pretty weak constitution and getting tired and exhausted from his powers pretty easily when he starts overdoing it

But specifically, Nico with the Poseidon bloodline, I picture him just like dissolving, becoming many many droplets of sea water.

He would usually hit his limit and dissolve when he's already on water, so others would just have to wait it out a little bit, while Nico's pulling himself back together.

At first they don't even realize he's straight up dissolving, and figure out that he's just going underwater to swim around a bit, and recuperate his strength before coming back up.

But one time, Nico hits his limit while fighting on earth, and somebody like Percy just has to dive right in, and catch the droplets on a bucket or something, because nobody knows what would happen if they didn't, and they sure as hell don't wanna be finding out in the middle of a Quest.

This process Nico goes through also makes him feel more isolated, as other people, sometimes point out that it's a lot like what monsters go through once they are killed, and then reformed

Fortunately, anybody who says anything like that in the earshot of any of Nico's friends, is immediately getting sent to the Aether
