i think toby has a lot of hard days, obviously... im still on the fence of how slender sickness affects him, but I think that he doesnt really get the same skullsplitting headaches the others do that drives him to listen. so if he just rots in bed for days at a time, theres nothing but nausea and emptiness - slendy cant rlly get him out of bed. (somehow he remains a favorite)

i think that everyone sorta expects brian to be the one helping toby. he's friendly, charismatic, comforting - but none of that does anything for toby. it makes toby feel belittled, infantilized, angry... has occasionally thrown an alarm clock at brian for calling him buddy. brian eventually gives up and decides to wait it out, cuz he's only human and starts getting angry in return.

kate gets it so she usually just.. IF SHE TRIES, she'd just hang out w him. take a nap in the same bed but he wont move an inch when she wakes up. she'll toss a water bottle to him and head out when she has smth else to do. she doesnt know how to help besides bring stuff, cuz thats what he does for her

but i think tim knows how to like. work toby. piss him off enough to get up out of bed, knock some sense into him, say something that scares toby into getting up, whatever. occasionally he'll lie and toby will yell at him but he's up for the first time in days and tim hands him a beer and asks him to go chop some wood for the cabin and tobys like fucking whatever okay yeah sure whatever. and toby would never ever ever ever ever say it, but deep down he's grateful for tim just having a way of getting him out of his funks . . . then the nausea stops, finally.

Her and Subaru are polar opposites, but similar.

Basically she, unlike Subaru, she wasn't really that known by her peers as a child (matter of fact, she was invisible) but as she grew up, she learned to face her own fears and started communicating more. People's expectations of her? She thinks it doesn't matter because its what they want, not her. She also joins a lot of competition ever since she got older.

Closet-ish otaku. Unlike Subaru, she doesn't pull out references but stoops down to other people's level and give them words that they understand. But the moment people ask about what she likes....she becomes a yap lord.

She's a bit calm. Like calmer version of Subaru. She's eccentric, but a bit more toned down. She's sort of the type to say the most ridiculous shit TO YOUR FACE and smile. She knows what she said was crazy its just funny to see other's reaction.

even ocs within their universe arent as fleshed out! all the ocs and some of their spoiler-free info are on my art fight page, but all of my current ocs are linked into one universe so heres a ranking of how much lore each character has:

1 - Vikki

this girl definitely has more lore considering her ghost seeing abilities adding onto her character

1 - Glume

being the main protagonist of the universe she almost ties with vikki with how much lore she has. but since vikki has supernatural powers i think shed be considered to have more but these two are at a. lose equal tbh

3 - rose and edric

will not give any info on their roles in the story but they definitely have their own story i have thought out

4 - nancy and eleanor

youve seen nancy on my art fight but she has a supporting story as she was the previous wife of edric, but she doesn’t have too much lore and is just simply mentioned in the comic (thats as much as ill say regarding her). as for eleanor, you’re all just hearing about her today but to prevent spoiling my own comic before its even published… ill just say she has a backstory lol

i hate him but think hes so silly at the same time. hes not spoken too much about in the comic but does have a few appearances, i’ll definitely make minicomics with him but despite not much being said about him in the book he actually has a history with glume and an entire profile on their equivalent to twitter where he posts about being an “alpha male” unironically. no, he cannot name 5 soap brands.

hes a dead sassy asshole who has a backstory of his life that isnt really explored in the comics besides a small summary since he isnt too important plotwise. but again, along with the other characters with little appearances i might make minicomics oitside the book for him.

little is explained about her life besides her occupation and a reference to how she died

more character new to the public but they have a bit of lore and these kids wont be featured in the book but if theres a book two i might add them in. honestly they were made after i finished writing out the full story, i just wanted to expand the universe for funsies yk

i feel bad this queen is so low on the list since i love her but i havent thought of a proper backstory for her. all i have is shes glumes sister and is used to kinda bring out glumes character more and is a supporting character. her backstory wouldnt even be relevant in the story as shes a background/sligh side character, but she still deserves one (all the characters that remain vague on lore do)

10- the bathroom ghost

no this is not hanako, in fact, this dude is not even close to being as cool. i cant say much but theyre bland and you only hear about their death. theyre yet another character that is new to the public.

You like to practise and Kaeya also likes it when you practise. He thinks you're incredibly skilled and loves listening to you play your instruments. The way your fingers glide across the strings, the way your hand easily climbs the neck, the nimble movement of your fingertips dancing from fret to fret - it's all so lovely to a point he finds himself so mesmerised he might miss your music.

At first you worried that you were going to bother him. After all, instruments aren't exactly the quietest things on earth. However, since you were confident enough in your skills you knew it didn't sound awful and with his blessing your shared home was constantly being peppered with the pretty noises of your instruments.

Kaeya loved to do his paperwork at home, feeling like you were serenading him. It put him into a wonderful flow state, letting him do work so much more efficiently than he was able to do it before.

What he didn't know was that you also enjoyed singing. You didn't practice it as often as you did everything else, not wanting to subject yourself to any embarrassing voice cracks around him. You know he wouldn't make fun of you but you wanted to be at your absolute best before you sang for him.

That was all thrown to the wind when he came home early one evening. He was planning to surprise you after finishing his shift early, grabbing you some of your favourite treats to spoil you with. He practically snuck in, making sure to shut the door quietly behind him. He didn't want to interrupt you and your rehearsal after all.

He expected the sound of the guitar playing, happy to hear that you picked it back up after a brief stint of going on strike due to a difficult chord progression. You played other things in the meantime, but there was something about the song you were playing before that he just loved.

What he didn't expect was to also hear your voice quietly singing along. It wasn't incredibly loud or anything, but it was very soothing from the tiny bit he could hear. You were singing along with whatever you were playing, so focused that you didn't notice him standing in the doorway listening along to you.

When you finished, he claps for you, making you jump so hard you almost drop your guitar. You don't know how to respond, and instead just find yourself a little embarrassed. You wanted to perfect this song before he heard it, drumming against the body of your guitar a little as you wait for him to speak.

"You sound lovely," he says sweetly into your ear, hugging and kissing your cheek once you move the instrument out of the way.

"Thank you. I wanted to sing that song to you, but I didn't want to until I perfected it," you pout a little.

"Really? That sounded perfect to me," Kaeya praises, pressing a kiss to your lips.

"It could have been just a bit better, you know? I'm just a little harder on myself since I know I can do better."
