Edible cookie dough recipe for regressors ☆´ˎ˗︶︶︶
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
gif credits
Who doesn't love cookies? Or, alternatively, who doesn't love scraping the bowl for leftover cookie dough? Because I love it, a lot, it makes me feel very small! That's why I started looking for edible cookie dough recipes, and after some tests and adaptations I made my very own recipe!
Basic Ingredients ☆´ˎ˗
for every 1 cup of all purpose flour, you'll need...
🥣: 1/2 cup of brown sugar
🍪: 1/2 cup of softened salted butter
🥣: 1/4 cup of milk
You can use granulated sugar instead of brown sugar for a more sugar cookie-like flavor
You can use edible flours (such as: almond flour, coconut flour) instead of all purpose flour and skip the heat treating step altogether
Instructions ☆´ˎ˗
🍪: Heat treating the flour: to make sure the flour is safe to eat raw you'll need to heat treat it. This can be done in three ways
With an oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread the flour on a tray, over baking paper, and bake it for 5-8 minutes
With a stove: spread the flour in a saucepan, turn the heat to low and stir it for ~2 minutes. Be careful to not burn the flour!
With a microwave: Microwave the flour for 30 seconds and stir the flour so the heat can be evenly distributed, and repeat the process 2-4 times. Remember to use a microwave-safe bowl!
🥣: Mix in the butter and sugar, and whisk them together until fluffy
🍪: Add the flour and the milk to the mixture and mix until homogeneous. The end result should have a soft and thick texture and hold itself together well.
Adding in flavor ☆´ˎ˗
Now, if the plain cookie dough isn't enough, here's some extra ingredients for specific flavors
🥣: 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for a classic vanilla flavor
🍪: 2 tablespoons of peanut butter for a peanut butter flavor
🥣: 2 teaspoons of coffee powder for a coffee flavor
Adding the sprinkles ☆´ˎ˗
To finish off, a perfect cookie is usually adorned with sprinkles for added texture and colorfulness! This step is completely optional
🍪: Traditional chocolate chips
🥣: All kinds of confetti, hundreds & thousands, etc
🍪: M&Ms or skittles
🥣: Chopped chocolate
🍪: Chopped nuts
Enjoy! ☆´ˎ˗
🥣: This recipe serves around 6 portions and the measures can be cut or increased for less or more portions
🍪: This recipe can be stored in a fridge for around a week and can be added to ice creams and milkshakes
🥣: This recipe cannot be baked! It was made to be eaten raw

recipe 02- angel milk!
💚 - this recipe is easy to make!
🥛 - this recipe involves milk, so it’s not very good for kids who have lactose intolerance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: this is a very easy dish to make! You don’t need an adult unless you are shaky or may make a mess. Make sure you clean up afterwards!
Ingredients needed- steamed milk, sugar, whip cream (optional!) and vanilla extract! (Optional: food dye of a chosen color)
How to make- get a cup, small or large. Fill it up with warm, steamed milk, and then add sugar in the bottom. You can stir with a straw or with a spoon. Add a drop or two of vanilla extract. (Optional: add whip cream to the top if yours is cold! It tastes better this way!) (also optional: add a drop or two of pink/red (or blue, or green, etc) food dye to make it look cute!)
Finally- enjoy your angel milk! It’s yummy. You can put it in a bottle or sippy to enjoy, also. OR: turn it into ice cubes to put into something warm (ie. Your normal milk, hot cocoa, choccy milk heated up)

"Formula" baby food for ARFID age regressors 🍼🥤
I'll make a better post with progress pics next time I make some, but I wanted to post about it quickly, since it was such a success.
My small (@bunnnybcy ) has ARFID, which makes it very difficult for him to get much nutrition, and I'm always trying things to make health accessible to him. One way to make "scary" foods accessible is to make them cute or baby-like. This recipe is sort of a "base model," a warm and sweet treat that can be altered later to increase their fruit & whole grain consumption.
Equipment you'll need:
Saucepan
Stirrer
Measuring cups
Stove or hotpad
Blender
Sippy cup or reusable pouches (Link to reusable pouch example)
Refrigerator for storage
Sweet Cinnamon Formula Recipe 😋
Ingredients:
1 cup + 1 cup milk or plant milk of choice (we used vanilla soy milk) 🥛
1/2 cup plain rolled oats 🥣
1 tsp dark brown sugar, or to taste*
1 tsp honey, or to taste 🍯
Cinnamon, to taste
Vanilla extract, to taste
Steps:
🥛 Heat the first cup of milk in your saucepan on the stove. Turn the heat up to medium, or medium-high if you're impatient.
🍯 Stir in the brown sugar and honey, and continue to stir frequently until the milk starts to lightly boil.
🥣 Stir in the 1/2 cup of rolled oats, and turn down the heat to medium, if it isn't already there.
🥄 Stir frequently until the liquid is mostly absorbed, about 5-8 minutes. (The longer you cook it, the smoother your end product will be, which is important for ARFID smalls.)
🆒️ Take off the heat, and let cool for a bit, until you're confident that it won't melt your blender lol.
Pour the oatmeal into your blender, add 1/4 cup milk🥛, and blend until smooth. Check the consistency, and continue adding milk in 1/4 cup amounts until your small approves of the texture. This would also be a convenient time to add more cinnamon, vanilla, honey🍯, or sugar, if they feel the taste is lacking.
Pour into pouches or sippy cups.
You can store leftover formula in the fridge for 3-5 days.
Other formula flavor ideas:
Strawberry 🍓
Banana🍌
Blueberry 🫐
Peach 🍑
Chocolate 🍫
Peanut butter 🥜
Apple pie 🍎
Pumpkin pie 🥧
Sweet potato 🍠
Notes for other carers of little ones with ARFID:
If your small one will tolerate it, adding nuts or seeds during step 1 will yield a more nutritious result, but some may not blend down. Chia seeds, for example, will remain visible and will feel like poppyseeds, which may be off-putting to someone with ARFID, even though they don't taste like anything.
Always remember to introduce new tastes and textures slowly, and allow them to try a new thing multiple times on different days if they're unsure about it. Unsure may just mean unfamiliar, and it'll take them a number of attempts to acquire a taste for it. Uncertainty is a good sign of a future "yes", but don't push them to finish a serving of something they're on the fence about; the pressure may turn it into a "no". Instead, give them the option of putting the rest away for later, and after some time, when they're ready, encourage them to try it again.

here's an easy mug cake recipe ! i wanted to add some extra bits explaining why directions are the way they are so it's a little educational as well, baking science is a hyperfixation of mine and i see people make alot of mistakes that are easily fixed once you know proper techniques :3
icing is optional, but can easily be made by combining powdered sugar and a little bit of milk!
you can also add things to this recipe like cinnamon, remove the cocoa powder and add 2 tblspoons of vanilla extract to make it a vanilla cake, etc.
i hope this was helpful ! sorry if it's too wordy :<

5 of my favorite drink recipes for regressors ☆´ˎ˗ ︶︶︶
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As someone who generally prefers non-solid food, I often find myself making drinks for my regressed self because they bring me a very unique kind of comfort.
So here's a small (likely the first of many) compilation of recipes that I usually make for myself when regressed!
🍓 Yogurt Smoothie🍓
This one is the simplest of them all, and one I make pretty often! Though I don't think I'm the only one who does this, I came up with the recipe myself!
Ingredients: 100g or 3,5oz of a yogurt of your choice; 2/3s of a cup of milk Method: Blend them together until it's all creamy and foamy Servings: 1 cup
🍎 Apple and Banana Smoothie 🍎
My mom used to make this for me when I was a kid! Has a porridge-like texture.
Ingredients: 2 slices of apple; 2 slices of banana; a cup of milk; a tablespoon of oatmeal; a teaspoon of sugar Method: Blend it all together and serve! Servings: around 1 1/2 cups
🍋 Swiss Lemonade 🍋
Funnily enough, the "swiss lemonade" is neither swiss nor a lemonade. I'm unsure if anyone here is familiar with this one, but for me it's the best creamy drink for a sunny afternoon
Ingredients: 2 whole limes, 600ml or 20oz of cold water, a can (395ml or 13,5oz) of condensed milk Method: cut the limes in 8 pieces, without removing the peel, blend all ingredients for less than 10 seconds (blending for too long might make the drink bitter!). Strain through a fine strainer to remove rinds and serve. Servings: around 3 cups
🍼 Burnt Milk 🍼
Another one my mom used to make for me before bed, she says it's good for sore throats. Has a unique burnt/caramelized taste.
Ingredients: 1 cup of milk; 2 teaspoons of sugar; a pinch of cinnamon (or a cinnamon stick) Method: Pour the sugar on a small saucepan, cook and stir on medium. Right when the sugar starts caramelizing (burning) add the milk and stir in. Serve and sprinkle the cinnamon on your drink! Cinnamon is also good for sore throats Servings: 1 cup
🍫 Hot Chocolate 🍫
Classic? Mayhaps. But this recipe has a little special ingredient that gives it a thicker texture
Ingredients: 1 cup of milk; 3-4 tablespoons of cocoa mix powder; 2 tablespoons of corn starch (the more you add the thicker the drink's texture); a pinch of cinnamon Method: pour the milk, cocoa and corn starch on a small saucepan, cook and stir on medium until hot. Serve and sprinkle the cinnamon Servings: 1 cup

03 - octopi sausage (aka octodogs)🐙
💚 - very easy, a few small steps
⚠️ - , may need an adult for microwave + knife use.
🕒 - less than 10 minutes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What you will need- sausage, knife (⚠️), microwave, and a toothpick. (Optional: mustard or ketchup)
How to make it- grab your hotdogs and split all of them in half, or a little less if you want. Then, get an adult to use the knife and cut a few small stripes in the bottom of each hotdog (These are the tentacles). Then, you want to poke two small holes on the face, using the toothpick, to make eyes! Then, put them in the microwave for 1 minute ish, if the tentacles aren’t bent enough then put them in for one more minute. Finally, you can put ketchup or mustard in a bowl, dip your octodogs in, and eat!
final- enjoy this recipe with your little friends too! Easy to make, even able to be made at school (cooking scissors. No knives.)

"Pumpkin pie" baby food for my ARFID age regressor -- no blender needed 🥧🍠🎃
Equipment:
Knife 🔪
Cutting board
Microwave-safe dish
Plastic wrap
Microwave
Potato masher
Optional: vegetable peeler
Ingredients:
1 large (or 2 small) sweet potato 🍠
2 Tablespoons butter 🧈
Vanilla soy milk, or milk of choice 🥛
Cinnamon
"Pie spice" spice mix (or whatever you have & enjoy of the following: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, clove*, mace, star anise) .... (*if using clove, only use a very tiny amount. It's strong!)
Vanilla extract
Honey 🍯
Step 1: peel sweet potato(es), and cut into small chunks. Place into microwave-safe container.
Tumblr media
(My cuts were uneven because I was trying out a new knife-holding method recommended by Julia Child, and because it doesn't really matter for this recipe.)
Step 2: Add a little water to the dish, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave until fork-tender*. (For me, this was 8 minutes, with a break to stir in the middle. Smaller cuts will need less time.)
Tumblr media
*("Fork-tender" means you can easily pierce the chunks with a fork.)
Step 3: Add butter 🧈, milk 🥛, honey 🍯, and spices, and mash together with the potato masher. Keep adding and stirring until you've achieved a taste and texture that your small one enjoys.
Tumblr media
(I forgot to take a photo until 2/3 pouches were filled. Oops).
Step 4: Load into pouches or other serving-sized containers. Bonus points for marking the date and contents (I used dry-erase markers)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These pouches hold a maximum of 7oz, and I filled 3 of them, so I guess this recipe makes roughly 21 oz. (There was some that didn't fit, so it's probably more like 24oz).

I made brownies!! :3 They're so good! I love them and they're really simple to make! Here's the recipe!! It's really simple! I promise!
Recipe
226 grams (1 cup, 2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted and still warm
½ teaspoon salt
120 grams (1 cup) all-purpose flour
400 grams (2 cups) sugar (granulated, brown, or a combo of the two)
70 grams (⅔ cup) cocoa powder
4 large eggs
I added about a tablespoon of vanilla extract as well!:3
Preheat the oven to 350ºF/175ºC and position an oven rack to the center position.
Measure out all the ingredients.
TO MAKE THE BROWNIES
Prepare a 9-inch (23 cm) square baking pan with parchment paper or non-stick spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour (120 grams, 1 cup), sugar (400 grams, 2 cups), cocoa powder (70 grams, ⅔ cup), and salt (½ teaspoon) until well combined.
Add the warm melted butter (226 grams, 1 cup) and eggs (4 large) into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Whisk the ingredients together until well combined. The batter will be quite thick. You can also fold in chocolate chips at this point if you want to make them extra chocolatey.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and use a rubber spatula to smooth out. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until a tester comes out with moist crumbs. Slightly under baking them will keep them extra moist and chewy.
Let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing, they will be gooey straight out of the oven. You can eat them like this if you like, but they need to cool to completely solidify.
Happy baking butterflies!!🦋
P.S.- Tiny babies please ask for help!! I did this while big so please don't get hurt trying to bake sweeties!!🦋
