🌺Sleeping was always hard for the overactive Warner brother. But tonight was harder than usual for Wakko. They couldn’t stop tossing and turning in their race car bed all night long. They managed to get some sleep in but were awakened by a nightmare. It was the same one as before, being locked away in the Warner Tower for years again, it was scary the first time and that thought was still scary even now. It didn’t help that they lived in the water tower either. A soft whimper escaped their lips as they sat up, their gloved hands searching for the little teddy bear in the darkness.

🌺Once their fingers brushed their stuffie they grabbed ahold of it and held it close to their chest. Wakko didn’t want to be alone right now. That was the last thing they wanted right now. They got from under the covers and hopped down from their bed before they began to travel through the darkness of their makeshift home. Soft whimpers and whines slipped past them. The darkness was something they never liked after they and their family were locked away in the same place they called home. Wakko allowed their feet to guide them, not really knowing where they were going, just that they were going somewhere. They stopped in front of a door.

🌺Oh, it was Yakko’s. Did they want to disturb him again? They always felt bad disrupting him when he was sleeping despite him being their big brother. But their need for someone else was too strong. They gently knocked on the door before opening it to peek in. “Bro-bro?” They whimpered quietly. Their floppy ears perked from the shuffling they could hear before the soft light of his bedside lamp was flicked on.

🌺“Mm, Wakko? What are you doing up so late?”

🌺Wakko fiddled with their bear plush as they sniffled. “Pubby have nightmare.”

🌺Yakko sat up and yawned softly, stretching out his arms before he fixed his blue eyes on Wakko’s brown ones. “Ah, bad dream. Does Pubby wanna sleep in here tonight? Or does Pubby wanna get something to eat?”

🌺“Pubby wanna sleep.”

🌺That seems to catch Yakko off guard for a moment. It was rare whenever Wakko didn’t want to eat, it usually only happened when they were truly upset and regressed cause of it. Wakko watched their big brother pat the spot next to them and they showed no hesitation when it came to climbing up in his bed. They got right under the covers and cuddled up next to Yakko.

🌺Wakko held their plush close to their chest with one arm while the other was used to cling to their big brother. “Is Pubby all comfy?” Yakko asked to which the Warner gave a little nod. They watched him turn the lights off and get comfy, his arms wrapping around them protectively.

The last thing you wanted to see after coming home from school was that your little brother had gone through your room, least of all what he got his grubby little mitts on.

Neatly laid out on your bed is all the gear you had hidden away in the bottom of your dresser, including your pacifier.

Mortified doesn't even begin to describe how you feel.

"How was class?" Carter swivels nonchalantly in your desk chair, a smug look on his face. "That professor an ass like usual?"

You can't even scold the younger boy for his language, too focused on thinking about how you're going to explain yourself in a way that's believable.

"Are you done gaping like a fish?" He gets up, waving a hand in front of your face with a pout. "You know, I should really tell mom you've been lying, I'm willing to hear you out first though."

Lying?

"You haven't been honest with any of us," Carter crosses his arms over his chest, sulking. "A lie by ommission is still a lie, that's bad, you know? But I'm such a kind little brother that I haven't tattled yet, you have a chance to tell the truth."

The explanation you try to give is clumsy, babbling on that the items actually belong to a friend, that you're just holding onto them-

"Yeah, right." The boy scoffs, rolling his eyes. "I'm not stupid, you don't even have that many friends to begin with." Always a brat, huh? "Come on, why won't you just admit it? I'm not making fun of you, I just want to know what's going on with my big sibling."

It's embarrassing, humiliating. You wouldn't have come home if you knew that you'd be confronted like this, a nice ditch would look pretty comfortable right now.

You eventually get the words out, your cheeks sweltering as you tell him that it's just a dumb thing you do sometimes to help with stress.

"Oh, I know what it is." He hums, a smirk settling on his lips. "I just wanted to hear you say it." Carter grasps your hand, pulling you over to sit with him on the bed. "Why are your things so boring though? Our baby stuff was always cute.."

Strangling him isn't out of the question yet, or you could smother him in his sleep with a pillow.

"Dad will buy you whatever you want, I don't get why you're so cagey-" Carter grunts when you snatch the paci he had picked up out of his hands, looking highly offended. "Rude, I'm just saying you're making this into a bigger deal than it is. Nothing should be worth lying to us over."

You sigh, leaning back against the pillows, which is apparently an invitation to cuddle. He curls up against your side, arms wrapping around you like a vice. "I'm serious.. no one is gonna judge, we just want to make sure you're taken care of."

There's something weird in his voice when he says that, but like everything else apparently you must be overthinking it.

"Please, bubs? I love you, I want to spend time together even if you're little. I can be a good big bro, I'll prove it!"

age regression roles/terms

age regressor

a person who mentally regresses to a younger age, as a way to cope with trauma, stress, anxiety, and/or as a way to heal their inner child. it can be voluntary or involuntary. often accompanied with little gear. most often referred to as a "little".

pet regressor

a person who mentally regresses to the mindset of an animal, usually a small animal, in the same way one would regress to a younger age.

caregiver

a person who looks after regressors, most often referred to as mama/mommy or dada/daddy. they can however, be called anything that both the little and carer are comfortable with.

flip

a person who is both a regressor and a caregiver.

pet owner

a person who looks after pet regressors, can also just be referred to as a caregiver.

babysitter

a person who temporarily babysits and takes care of one or more regressors and/or pets.

sibling regressor

also referred to as a sibby or sib. in age regression terms, a sibling is a friend who you share a bond with and sometimes regress with. they are often referred to as a big sib/sibby if their regression age is older than your own, and a little sib/sibby if their reqgression age is younger, you can also go off of real ages if your regression ages are similar/the same orif you have an age gap friendship and it makes you more comfortable. you can also use gendered terms like sis, sissy, sister, bro, brother, bubby, ect.

little gear

little gear refers to physical items that help someone regress. littles often use items such as stuffed animals, adult-sized pacifiers, sippy cups, large baby bottles with adult-sized nibs, onesies, and childrens shows. pet regressors may use items such as ears and tails of the animal(s) they regress to and pet/chew toys.
