My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Imagine you’re tied up in a basement in Berlin getting interrogated by a teenager and his voice is cracking the entire time and if you laugh he’s going to shoot you

AU where instead of becoming the red hood and taking over gotham’s criminal underground at 18-19, jason todd decides to go back to school and graduate from college, and just generally live the life his parents (read: catherine and willis todd) would have wanted him to have that they unfortunately couldn't have given him due to their circumstances.

and what does jason get his college degree in, might you ask? he graduates with full honours as a political science major, minoring in english with plans to work in public policy.

and y'know, after graduating and working for a couple of years, things seem to be actually looking up for jason. he has good friends, a stable income with a job that he actually enjoys, he owns a home, his romantic life is pretty decent, and he's actually healing from the trauma of his death. there’s nothing that could possibly go wrong in his life, right? not when it’s been the best it’s ever been in years, right?

well, that’s where you’re wrong because when he comes home from his 9-5 shift, jason finds the batman himself brooding in the dark while sitting criss cross applesauce on his very new leather sofa.

and just when jason thought he was having a good week.

(this idea was kinda inspired by this post that i made a while back, where jason goes back to school, and now i’m having too many ‘what would jason have become if he didn’t become the red hood?’ thoughts running through my brain because of it, lmao.)

Your Marika and family art is some of my favorite stuff to see on my dash; I'm curious what your take on Maliketh is! I don't think I've seen any of your pieces feature him (:

(i have drawn Maliketh before, but it's pre-DLC so it's mostly just fluff fanart haha)

i had a pretty harsh reading on how Maliketh and Marika's relationship could be at first and tbh i still think so now. but when i think about how her betrayal to Maliketh in the end could be her trying to help Godwyn gain a second life as Lord of TWLiD (burying Godwyn right at the Erdtree root, still leaving him there even when he started spreading Deathroot around, guidance of grace waking Fia up, the Death Knights in LoS), trying to accept Death now that it's sth that could give her Godwyn back (and thus Maliketh was feeling guilty and teaming up with Radagon's GO hunters for... nothing), it opens up to more possibilities i guess? that it's not always tense and her betrayal in the end is not only out of pure grievance towards him specifically?

i could see that at one point the closed off and always on edge Marika, fresh off heartbreak and ascension, would slowly open up to Maliketh and start to rely on him more (while still aware of the sleeper agent the Two Fingers has in him or sth).

& i do think Messmer grew up with Godfrey & Maliketh in the picture, his armor plates and colour palette of black and gold mirror Maliketh after all. so they probably were a dysfunctionally normal family once.

i just need to find a way to put him in some art 😂

Okay so I need to get this off my chest because it's been annoying me -

There's a LOT to critique about Rise Of Red and Descendants as a whole, but the one criticism that genuinely does not make sense is the 'it basically just became The School For Good and Evil in Rise Of Red when they went back in time!' because? No??

How the School For Good and Evil works, in it's literal bare bones sense, is that there are two separate schools, one for good, one for evil, and they're essentially conjoined with one person in control of both and different teachers for the Good and Evil side. In Rise Of Red Merlin's academy is one school with regular / royal / rich people who are good and or just a bit mean but not straight up evil, and then there's like... One small group of villains...

They're not the same. Like. At all??? Where are people getting that they're similar in any way???? Because there are villains and heroes????? If you want to talk about Descendants and them ripping off another franchise, talk about Ever After High!
