When I first read TBONA and the line “you can pretend I’m still Jacks of the Hollow and that you want to be mine” and her response “I’m yours” always stood out to me. Specifically because he never said it back to her. But then in ACFTL he admitted that he belonged to her all along but that doesn’t mean that she belonged to him- “Being yours does not make you mine.” So that night in the hollow he knew he was hers, he just didn’t say it out loud.

I always think that maybe Jacks gave Evangeline his dagger, the SAME one Tella used to stab him, to see whether she would stab him with it, just like Tella did when they kissed.

It’s like his test - does she love me or will she stab me? And that's also why he’s so gleeful and always brings up how Eva DIDN’T stab him when he became a vampire, because it’s like “Oh. She doesn’t want me dead. So she basically wants me”
