honestly advertising is so fukcing wasteful not even just in the convincing you to buy shit you never actually wanted but like

how much electricity is wasted displaying ads that could've gone to keeping houses warm. How much paper is produced just to be turned into pamphlets and ads that will just be thrown away. how much internet bandwith is wasted just on the amount of ads that are on the internet nowadays. How many hours worth of labor went into producing ads that are going directly into my adblocker or my waste bin that could've been time spent doing literally ANYTHING useful?

Hello. I love your art and your worlds. They inspire me and remind me of my own characters and ideas. May I ask - how did you start sharing them on tumblr? I have a lot of characters and little settings, but I do not have any "coherent" or very completed storylines, and I think that is one of my hang-ups. Did you start out with stories, or did you just put art of your concepts and characters at first? I appreciate your time!

hiya for sharing on tumblr i'd nearly always go art-first even if the art was the least important part to me, i guess i used to feel guilty about posting long walls of text or full on chunks of prose because i was conscious of the time investment required of the audience for stuff other than visual art. and it's easy to portray some storytelling in visual art that can be widely spread and understood in the 2 seconds it takes to view the image. therefore if people didn't get it or if they just didn't like what i was putting down, i'd feel less guilty lol because i only took up 2 seconds of their time

but i do get dissatisfied with just posting contextless art for people who'd treat it as only a pretty picture (which is valid....) without context. so i made this blog to share the context as well. the most popular setting i posted about on this blog was hashtag ice storm over kosa which has zero coherent or completed storyline, but it had a hook that interested people and enough space for them to meet it on their own terms. i don't think presenting a full complete story is the way for posting success on tumblr but i also cannot stress enough that posting with the goal of Posting On Tumblr or getting notes will leave you demoralised and disssatisfied pretty quickly.

if you wanna post what you have then post it and keep it a space which is still comfortable and enjoyable for you. don't chase engagement or the perfect posting format to be as understandable as possible (my posts are barely understandable and i bounce between 139032 unique settings and characters every hour of every day which can't be easy to follow either). people like characters, and they like plot hooks probably more than they like completed plots, ask me how i know. you should aim to disappoint your followers as much as possible.

Is it possible you’ll publish The Black Horse to a printing company to make access to getting the book easier? Or is that not something in the works.

I did consider self-publishing on amazon but I'm leery of that company and the terms & conditions you have to agree to. It might happen at some point but I'm not pushed. However I know it's probably the best way to reach An Audience who aren't just ppl who happen to follow my blog here.

I do plan to get a physical print copy for myself and I know that the companies that offer this service often need bulk orders so I might have that as a limited option for sale at some point to make up the order. I just need to do up the spine & back cover and review my options.

As for traditional publishing, what can I say but Unlikely
