Petdepense - Pet DPD Archetype
Tumblr media
ID: A 5-stripe flag with its stripes angled downward toward the bottom in a V formation. Coming down from the top-center is an arrow, with the top containing a downwards obtuse triangle with an icon inside. The icon is a pet collar with a bell, colored a dark mulberry pink. The arrow is a medium-dark mulberry pink, and the triangle inside is slightly lighter. The stripes, from top to bottom: Dark brown, dark pink, pink, brown, dark brown.
Depense are labels that describe one's relation to DPD and their dependent identity. It may be a gender experience, orientation experience, or any other identification: even its own category altogether.
Petdepense, or the pet dependent archetype, is a dependent identity related to pets, considering oneself petlike, and/or being seen as a pet. It may feel beloved, loyal, and inhuman / beastlike, but may also have other interpretations.
The modifier symbols are: 🐾🌷
The tulip as a symbol for DPD is representative of how gardens are dependent on their gardeners and often lovingly tended to in turn.
Depense coined by @epikulupu. Also tagging @cupidcoining and @revenant-coining.

Really sick of going into the DPD tag and only finding posts specifically about cluster B disorders. Please let us use our own tag and stop tagging DPD if you're going to exclude us purposefully. Please use your own damn tags.

I don’t know how many people will see this as it has been many years since anything was posted on here, but!
If anyone would like to take over ownership of this long inactive blog (that I was not equipped to handle when it was passed to me at 17, admittedly), send me a message!
I am open to anyone who wants it :)

do you know how much it hurts to oversexualize yourself as a way to make yourself desirable and STILL not be desired
having the one person you want paying attention to you, not attracted to you that way. but attracted to others that way
because it hurts. like a lot lmao

Tbh my suggestion for self DX is to meet people who have the diagnosis already and see if the skills they've picked up for coping are working for you too, if the experiences they describe are familiar to your life, etc. If you have the same symptoms, and they're eased by the same treatments, then for all intents and purposes that's the same DX.
You might try the 'actually' tags like 'actuallydependent' to find people to hang with.
The best part about this method is at the end even if you don't get a DX, you get to meet people in a low risk environment.
....erm
Personality disorder havers, I need your help. Due to the psych industry and diagnostic processes being absolute hell where I live, I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a...i guess..."self diagnosis help" thing, as in, what to look for if seeking a serious self diagnosis route aside from checking out the dsm.
Which, yeah, I've been looking down the dsm, tests and experiences related to AVPD and DPD and while I relate to both, I know how serious personality disorders are, and I suppose I wanted to know if any of you know where I could find stuff like, on comorbidity or overlapping symptoms, what they could be mistaken for, extensive signs/symptoms?
because i have a hell ton of social anxiety, rsd, which could stem from ADHD so that is a risk id rather avoid

Why do psychologists talk about personality disorders, only discussing how they affect other people and not how they affect the person with the disorder, and then blame us when we struggle to get treatment and be honest about our feelings? It is so hard to live in this world with a personality disorder.
The judgment from all sides hurts so much and finding people who understand without judgment is a breath of fresh air.
