Yo, when are people gonna actually start acknowledging that Autism causes social and communication deficits?????? Like, Autistic people have massive difficulties in social ability and communication. Way too many people, particularly other Autistic people, get really upset at Autistic people for not having good social skills, and like????????????????? Yeah??????? Autism is a social deficit????????
I've consistantly seen people complaining about Autistic people not learning proper social skills, like being able to pick up on social cues, and being able to do small talk. Like, I'm sorry, but I literally have a disability that means that I can't learn how to do that??????
You cannot just assume that I haven't tried to learn how to do that just because I'm bad at it, I have a social disorder, I'm just bad at it, no matter how hard I've tried to learn social skills (and trust me, I have).
A part of Autism being a social deficit isn't just that picking up social skills intuitively is harder, but learning social skills is also much harder. While some Autistic people can learn social skills if they put the work into it, most can't.

i'm tired of all the bullshit about dating autistic people being all about OUR obstacles. what about neurotypical people who can't understand that autistic people may not have a job? what about neurotypical people who don't understand that some autistic people can't contribute to fucking capitalism and this has nothing to do with the person's worth? i hate this world

A friendly reminder to those unaware:
Autism is a spectrum.
Some autistic people always knew that they were "different" growing up,and immediately or eventually recognized that they were autistic once they were made aware of asd.
Other's never knew that they had autism growing up,but once they realized they were autistic,it all finally made sense.
Other autistics are in denial of their autism for various reasons, some aren't diagnosed because of ableism or lack of time and money to get diagnosed, some autistic people never get diagnosed.
Some autistics get diagnosed young, other's get diagnosed a little later in life, and some get diagnosed late or very late.
Some autistic people prefer to use stim toys. Other's do not.
Some autistic people prefer to use other methods of stimming, like body stimming,or visual stimming instead of relying on disability tools.
Some autistic people use all forms of stimming,as often as possible and require a constant stream of self initiated and controlled sensory stimulation to maintain their physical and psychological health . (Like me,we're a very, very, very sensory seeking normally hyposensitive audhd system)
Some autistic people have comorbid conditions, like adhd or anxiety, and so on and so forth. Other's do not.
Some autistic people crave rough textures. Other's do not. Some autistic people prefer rough or gentle textures at different times, and to varying degrees.
Some autistic people prefer loud sounds, others prefer complete quite. Some prefer both at different times, and to varying degrees.
Some autistic people struggle with basic tasks, others do not. Some autistic people excel at complicated tasks, but are inept at simple ones. Some autistic people are better at either one,or neither,at different times and to varying degrees.
Etc etc
Bonus:
There are differences among us,naturally, but there is still some baseline symptoms that we all share in common, and experience in different ways and to varying degrees because the human brain and body and experience is so complicated. ❤️♾️

Gender Autism Pride Flag
Gender Autism or Autistic of Gender: describing someone who experiences autism as a result of one's gender; for when one experiences gender in an autistic way, or autism in a gender way; or someone whose gender has autistic traits.
Despite its definition, this is for autistics only (as if it was a reclaimed term). I didn't think autigender transcripted my feelings just as saying "gender autism".

Why are Instagram!Autistics against the word "symptoms"?
I was reading the comments on a reel, and Autistic people were saying that it was a "red flag" that someone in the reel used "symptoms" is reference to Autistic people. But like, why??? Autistic people have symptoms of Autism???
And this isn't the only time I've seen this either, like, what am I not understanding?

i am on the verge of tears watching this poor girl. the exact same thing happens to me as well (i'm also autistic).
this person who i love and cherish so much, every time i would text them or whatever, just trying to communicate, they would think i'm being petty, or attacking them, or trying to put obstacles like i didn't want to see them, etc. and it made me so confused, just like this girl. i'm just trying to do this properly, and care for people, but seems like i keep messing up? like, even when i'm silent. this happened a lot with my mom (still happens tho), and now happens with my relationships with others. i have to chose my words and voice tone very carefully, every single time, and still, i'm not doing it right. i'm just as tired as her, in this video. sometimes i think i'm better off alone indeed.

I should have known better than to dig through my old stories from when I was a teenager. There's so much trauma packed into them.
So I tried to unwind with a nice little video game (a new dating sim/visual story) since I'm having a high support needs day (high pain, poor mental health, increased confusion, anger, etc.) Anyway, I wasn't expecting the little platformer game. Usually not a problem.
Except today I'm not able to do hand-eye coordination well.
Today I'm not able to problem solve well. Today I'm barely able to get out of bed and am at a 12/10 on the pain scale, have negative spoons, and have the patience of my poor traumatized toddler self whose parents told them at age 10 they were a mistake (accident while on birth control) long after the divorce and whose parents should have never been together to start with.
Today, I had a meltdown because I tried to play a free to play video game, I couldn't edit the settings to make it disability-friendly, and struggled for 15 minutes with a task that in not unsimilar to a level in Mario Maker/Flappy Bird. I cried, screamed, and hit things. I wanted to hit my laptop/self-sabotage. But I didn't. I rage screamed (accidentally left the windows open, oops), tried to control the hitting to pillows only, and sat with my feelings.
I am tired of being exhausted all the time. Reparenting myself when my teenage self hates all adults and doesn't trust them is hard. Being kind to myself when everyone else treats me like scum is hard. Melting down over something I wanted to do to cope but suddenly can't do and can't change that is hard. But I will continue to fight for myself and others because no one deserves to be silenced.
My story matters. I owe it to myself to remember, even if it's hard. I can be kind to myself and not push myself.

One bathroom cleaning hack I recommend for neurodivergent people is to
Use toilet paper to wipe dust off of surfaces.
It works really well because of how grippy the toilet paper is and you don't need to use a lot.
And after you can just flush it down the toilet.
Its what i do when i dont have time or have low spoons and i really need to take a shower/bath. I avoid bathing in a dusty bathroom if possible.
