Something I really like about timebomb is that Ekko actually knows what he's getting into.

I'm not really seeing it get talked about but in season 1 they mention that Ekko and the firelights help people addicted to shimmer get off it and lead more fulfilling lives within the community. I should probably rewatch the scene for the exact wording (might be misremembering tbh) but that comment implies A LOT.

First: Ekko's mission is helping people where he can, he would probably try and help Jinx even if he wasn't in love with her

Second: He has experience dealing with severe mental illness as that often goes hand in hand with drug abuse, namely depression/suicidal ideation like what Jinx was exhibiting

Third: He's probably mapped out best course of action FOR dealing with this and has already figured out his own limits/boundaries. Meaning he knew what he was getting into trying to talk Jinx out of suicide, and was thus more equipped to deal with the aftermath

Fourth: He's probably helped ex members of Silco's gang. The firelights seem to have a theme of healing and repairing and recovering, so they've probably also learned to forgive. If they're mission is to rebuild the lanes into a safe space, they can't exclude people they don't like, they have to make room for them. I think they fought Silco out of necessity, and I doubt Jinx would be the first person they help who's killed one of them.

These all might be a bit of a stretch but I think it really fits. Beyond that, it shows that Ekko can ACTUALLY help Jinx. As much as unconditional love can do, Ekko has the tools for Jinx's recovery and a path ready for her. He also probably knows that her "healthy" will look different from AU Powder's "healthy." On top of that, I expect he knows how to respect her even in the middle of psychotic breaks and won't agitate her already frail mental state

I can think of nothing but Arcane atm #timebomb #ekko arcane #putting it in the tags bc I want to let people agree with my timebomb takes without having to listen to my other ship opinions #uh on that note I have some Caitlyn and Vi opinions that go a bit hand in hand with this #but I think that in contrast Caitlyn and Vi are mutually self destructive #see neither of them seem to make the others mental health... better.#Vi is desperate and needs love wherever she can get it #and Caitlyn... I'm not sure. I have a hard time reading her but a lot of the vibes I get off her feel like she just likes having the power #over vi #I KNOW THAT'S A STRONG CLAIM #hear me out #Vi in her search for unconditional love does a lot of enabling #a good example is when Caitlyn arrests that henchman in episode 3(?)#Vi is VISIBLY uncomfortable with that and for good reason!#Caitlyn just locked someone up for life for... nothing?#kinda like Marcus did to her (yes Marcus was trying to protect her but I doubt that's how Vi sees it)#but Vi doesn't voice this or push Caitlyn on it #instead she asks Caitlyn not to change #not great communication on Vi's part #but also indicative of how little their values align #and how little Caitlyn actually considers Vi and her problems and history #Caitlyn doesn't help Vi heal and she turns on Vi the second Vi stops enabling her and letting Caitlyn do as she thinks is best #neither of them are ready to deal with the others problems or communicate well #again. willing to discuss this. my opinions are swayable.#I just personally found Caitlyn made the most sense and was most compelling when she was going down facist dictator path #sure she could be more but I don't think the show ever really transitioned her away from that #you can see it in the way she treats Maddy #hhhhhh I should go to bed rather than spill every last thought I've ever had

MORE!!#TAYLOR WANT SHEET METAL #can you imagine all the clan battlehammer weavers tearing their hair out trying to figure out how to fit dwarf trad clothing on a human #i neeeeeeed to stop using green as a prominent colour in all my drawings cuz i always end up hating the colour balance LMFAOAO #i'm halfway through sea of swords now and the way catti is written in it is so... weird.......#like she's normal and fun and acting like herself in all of the scenes where it's just her and drizzt #but then if they have to talk to any npc at all suddenly it's like a fuckin batman and robin situation #and drizzt is doing all the talking and catti is just his sidekick that occasionally interjects #it reeeally feels like it should be the other way around and both of their characters suffer #cuz drizzt is supposed to be quiet and kinda shy and cat is supposed to be talkative and extroverted. can I just say that I love the way arcane portrays grief. specifically when we refer to powder’s breakdowns in season one act one. when vi tells her to stay behind and then the confrontation between her and vi after the explosion. because it’s ugly. it’s not pretty, it’s not watered down.

and it’s real. that’s how I cry. when I was little and now. if I’m angry and having a breakdown, that’s how I cry. I scream and I yell and I hit myself and I bite myself and I make a mess. our emotions aren’t pretty. and they don’t try and make it pretty.

Under the hoodie/layers, she tends to wrap her legs around her kinda like a hug! And so in the first part that's the weird bumps under the hoodie. They're starting to unravel a bit. She hates being called a monkey cause it's NOT her fault she's short and has to climb on things and up things and includes people in "things" category.

#my characters #911 and 810 and 666 (Satan) are all just agents and everyone except 911 has an odd feature of sorts #such as her spider legs and 666s tail and 343s eye on her chest and so on #they just go by their assigned numbers usually until 666 overheard 911 talking on the phone and heard him say #yeah yeah its eric sorry for a new number again #bc he tends to get new phone numbers for secret keeping reasons #but he has to call his parent to check on em! so hes like yup its me! that guy with an actual name!#and 666 is like oh thats hilarious and starts to call him Prince (since he likes to sing a lot and also prince eric sooo)#and in return to being dubbed prince he starts calling 666 satan #but! 810 and 666 become really good friends and she decides it might not be his name but its more personal than a number #so she adopts the teasing nickname as an affectionate nickname #also 911 is distinctly the only actual boring human amidst the group and he just keeps finding out about the others on accident #and then since he lives at HQ he starts to offer his very boring room up to his friends so they can strip down #and let the extra limbs or parts get some air #so hes constantly just walking into his own room and having 810 in her underwear face down on his bed with her legs out #and he sighs and goes about his day #hes kinda grateful 666 just lets his tail out and keeps his pants on most days but hes also walked into his room and #no pants only boxers tail out and flicking happily #so he just kinda counts it as a win for everyone if satan is happy (satan is the nicest of them lmao)#but yes! in the first part shes basically yelling shes gonna kill him she swears to her best friend #and 911 is like yeah ok thats scary please do NOT actually choke your human jungle gym lets just not do that actually thanks!#anyway sorry for the heap of tags i wont stop overall but i will for now ty for looking at my ocs

Staging concept: Ophelia carries around a book that she uses to press different flowers and plants. At one point we see her actually pressing one of the flowers Hamlet's given her before, and we get the impression that she wouldn't part with this book for the world. During the "Get thee to a nunnery" scene, Hamlet rips the book out of her hands, and she goes diving after it to make sure he didn't damage it. And during her final "mad scene", she starts tearing out the relevant pages (rosemary, pansies, fennel, columbines, etc.) to give to everyone present. Laertes is the only one to get the significance of his sister giving away parts of her prized possession, and it adds an extra layer to his grief.

#Some extra foreshadowing and a way to organically work in the book she's given in Act 3 Scene 1...#Listen I have a lot of feelings about how to stage Ophelia's final scene--for me it needs to be about *her*grief first and foremost.#It's so grossly easy to play it voyeuristically but this is a young woman who's been let down by everyone she thought she could trust #and now she's come to her lowest point where nothing feels like it matters anymore.#And that needs to hit the other characters present like a truck--they could have done something to actually *help* her #instead of using her for their own agendas but they didn't.#And for Laertes especially... that's his baby sister and he wasn't there for her and now he's watching her destroy something she loves.#Maybe he tries to give her the page back but she pushes it at him and there's a moment of agonizing eye contact between them #where he knows she still loves him but she's never felt so betrayed by everyone and there's nothing he can do to make it right.#hamlet #ophelia #shakespeare #the schemer speaks

with a few minutes' reflection and a second conversation with my parents I have realized that I may have overblown things and overreacted a bit and also in some ways they're correct even if I think they're also harsh about it

#we talked it out. i don't think they intended to be hurtful they're just trying to make me see how badly my pessimism #can impact others?? I think all three of us were pissed off during the first conversation #there's a lot of other stuff going on behind the scenes too that I don't want to talk about #but like. my parents aren't total jerks. when we aren't all being belligerent to each other we get along quite well #and I really do respect them quite a lot. some days we Do Not do well at Being A Good Family though #my dad did say that he's seen people apparently cringe away from me when I'm acting annoyed though #which... may honestly be true. I have a very readable face and if I'm upset people tend to notice #I just... I talked to them again and realized that I took that one thing to mean ''everyone hates you and is just pretending to be nice''#idk if I agree about what my mom says about me bringing a Vibe that brings the whole room down #I think that one may just be because she's so used to me complaining to her about everything bc I... do actually complain too much #but anyway. we resolved the argument. my initial ''my parents told me everyone dislikes me'' was uh... MY inference #and not actually the words they said #I also think I should stop complaining online so much. it's just letting the complaining spirit grow #re: my last post
