He’s not sure how much time passes as he goes through this strange phase or void. He has no way to tell. But eventually, it’s like he’s finally settled into something.

you open your arms and he climbs up to sit next to you. it’s a perfectly strategic move to hide your smiling face from his sad one.

you, brushing his hair back in a comforting manner: “and what is the difference again?”

elijah: “he was made into a spider but is human. i was born as a spider-human”

abby makes eye contact with you: “what a weirdo” she mouths then turns around to head back into the kitchen to work on dinner again

you hide your smile by kissing elijah’s temple

you, once you tame your laughter: “okay, baby. then a spider-human is what you will be. what do you need help with?”

elijah, thoughtful to your question, though obvious to the irony and absurdity of his costume: “i need to make four more legs appear on my body”

you: “hmm what about paper towel rolls? momma puts them in the recycling bin so I bet some are still there. why don’t you go look?”

elijah, happier than before: “ok! thank you mama!”

elijah detaches from you and sprints to the kitchen

I think after a long day of working hard and tiring herself out, Abby would go to her room and lie down. She’d expected you to be there, as you’d planned to eat together in her room, but you must’ve still been working, so she changed out of her day clothes and waited with a book as she lay in bed. She’d tried to stay awake, fighting off sleep each time her eyes fluttered, but eventually her book was left in front of her as her head rested on the pillow you usually used.

When you finally got to her room, completely exhausted from the extra tasks you’d been handed, you were carrying two plates of hot food and trying not to drop them as you came in carefully and kicked the door shut behind you. You set the food on a small desk she had in the room and looked at her, fast asleep.

You felt bad for making her wait, especially since you were the one that suggested dinner in her room for privacy; meaning that she hadn’t eaten.

You continued to let her rest, undressing and getting into one of her sweatshirts and a pair of her boxers before you went to the bed and knelt beside her. You moved her book to the bedside table, marking the page for her before running your hand over her hair and down to her cheek to run the pad your thumb over her soft skin.

“Abby?” You spoke quietly, bringing your hand to her shoulder. She turned on her back to get your hand off her, making you chuckle. She was never in a deep sleep when she didn’t fall asleep with you, and you usually found that endearing. Tonight it made you feel even worse about standing her up. “Baby,” you changed your tone, whispering in a coo as you leaned down to kiss her cheek. She huffed, sleepily turning away from the touch before her brows furrowed, slowly recognizing the soft plush of your lips.

You chuckled as you brought your hands to her hips, pushing up the material of her shirt and lowering your head to her abdomen. Your lips grazed against her freckled skin before you kissed just under her navel. You knew how sensitive she was here, and your knowledge proved to be true when she stirred.

You kissed her freckled skin softly, warmth spreading wherever your lips touched and making her slowly wake to the familiar feeling as you slowly kissed up her abdomen.

You didn’t realize until you felt her muscles twitch, a breathy laugh coming from her as her hand went to your head and ran over your hair. You peppered kisses along her skin, practically kissing each of her dusted freckles as she laughed at the ticklish feeling.

"I'd like to have it spicy." Abby smiles. "It's fun to sip on it while Charles beats him with the broom. Oh what if he puts some hot oil on the wooden stick?"

"That's way too much." Aleks said, as everyone in the room slightly groaned. "Even if he's my husband, I enjoy this. A lot." She chuckles a bit.

"Me too. Charles is doing what we should have before." Jodie sips on her tea.

"A little harder in the back, Charles! It's more effective!" Koa cried out.

"Ah, so satisfying." Vasili closes his eyes, sips his tea and takes a breather as they watch the chaos between Charles and Adler together.

I fell IN LOVE with bucktommy after 7x4, but honestly i think i just got kinda swept up in the excitement of bi buck and just generally falling in love with lou, because now it’s been a few eps with them together and…..i don’t really like them together…

Like i wanted them together so much, and now they are, i think it’s just…meh. They just made tommy into a really boring character? I can’t stand when LIs are boring. Ali, natalia, ana, marisol, and now tommy? Give me taylor ANY DAY over any of them! (Abby i honestly can’t comment on bcs i watched s1 before i was in the fandom and i genuinely thought that that whole storyline was gonna be about abby ending up stalking buck and ruining his life and i was so on the edge watching that entire season that i don’t think i can actually make a proper judgement of what their relationship actually was lmao i’m dubm)

I just don’t understand why this show has such a hard time making LIs have personalities?? I’m never gonna root for them if they’re boring, period.

Idk, maybe they’ll make him a little more fun in coming eps, but rn i just really miss buddie. Like the pendulum swung back so hard after bucktommy canon and just hit me right in the face, and now i want buddie canon more than i’ve literally ever wanted it before lmao

oh anon i get the sense that a lot of people are in your shoes right now lol. tommy is getting the plot device love interest treatment for sure which is weird because, again, he didn't need to. like yeah the scene at the end might demonstrate him putting some amount of effort in for buck but the actual reason he showed up at all from a plot standpoint was so buck could come out.

it's interesting because i think after 7x04, we all (me included) expected him to be something more than this, which is why there was so much speculation about his role in the chimney story... and then he wasn't involved even a little bit. what's also funny is that i actually do think that after taylor, abby, and shannon, tommy probably does have the most backstory and personality (not saying much considering the marisol of it all) - he has the potential to be compelling. i actually do like canon tommy i'm not joking about that (even though imo he comes across as consistently kinda dismissive of buck).

but the personality we're being shown is... not really melding well with buck's, specifically? or, i guess i should say that it's not really being developed in service of their relationship? so i really cannot tell if i'm supposed to root for them because from here it looks like tommy's around to drive buck's self-discovery story, at the very least. and now he's not going to be in the next couple of episodes so? i'm curious to see if they're going to make his presence known in any way.
