- Beware the Lurker of The Deep; Anis - 

About a while ago, @hphm-jeniferltheman​​ made an OC based on the various cyprids or creatures from her culture. [Named; Kapoya] and I love it a lot! A little later, another user; @akaisenhatake​​ made their own OC of the same theme. [Named; Aaron]

Not wanting to miss out on such a concept that can highlight some of South East Asia’s strange monsters, I decided to do a little research and something caught my eye.

Legends among village folk and fishermen in some parts of the Malaysian Peninsula tell tales of a mysterious phenomenon that they witnessed and survived to tell the tale. A creature that is suggested to be larger than the boats due to the amounts of bubbles it produces from beneath the murky waters.

- Meet Anis -

The anthropomorphic version of the Sulur Bidar (Su-lur Bi-da-r). In the actual version, The Sulur Bidar is described as a Man-eating carpet monster who looks like a normal carpet/ tikar (a type of woven mat) with snake head for tendrils on each corner. (The first picture is the official)

If you ever get too close. The creature will unleash its heads and drown its victims like a burrito and consume. Looking into it further, the Sulur Bidar is also described to have a foul odor when it surfaces. In some illustrations, they have one of the heads be replaced with a woman’s head.

As you can see, this isn’t the exact version you may think of. That is because I had to play a little fast and loose with the description. My version of the Sulur Bidar is a sort of humanized version of the creature.

In some ways a twisted version of the Lamia; The half-human and half-snake woman but instead of a snake’s tail, its a snake’s head with her limbs replaced by a pair of snake heads as well.

- Basic Information -

Anis is the human name of the Sulur Bidar. She is based on Sucy from < Little Witch Academia > Anis is beautiful and a little mysterious. When she’s not being a river mermaid, she will cover herself up in layers upon layers of cloth to hide her snakes and shop for clothes and proper food since humans to her are, junk food.

The snake heads each have names, Named after an Icebreaker game known locally among school cadets as; [Tepi, Depan, Belakang] Translation; Side, Front, Back. As for the names, Anis is a Left-dominant. So her left hand- I mean, left snake head is; Tepi. At the lower half of her body is the “Kakak” (older sister) addressed as; Depan and the non-dominant is her right; Belakang.

That is all I have about her for now. I will make her official eventually but for now, its all just doodles. As for her connection to Sadie and Hector...That is still in the works. That is all for now.

Movie idea:

A comedy that is loosely based/inspired by how the infamous English dub of the “Ghost Stories” anime came to be. The movie is centered on an American studio that is tasked to do the English dubs of anime shows. One particular anime, “Heavenly Hammer”, is considered to be one of the worst animes of all-time. To make matters worse, the first official English dub ended up being lackluster and badly edited (for example, an obvious outtake was somehow included).

Since the production has been so chaotic and negative, the original Japanese studio tells the American studio that they don’t care anymore and that they can do whatever they want with the do-over of the English dub. The only rules are that the character names and the overall plot must remain the same.

The lead director, realizing they’ve just been given complete creative control, decides to “spice things up”. He tells the actors to just start improvising their lines and do whatever they want. Chaos ensues as the end result is one of the most offensive, yet hilarious, English dubs. The movie explores both the making of the dub, as well as the immediate aftermath (the studio and actors dealing with their newfound notoriety, being canceled on social media while also being praised for how hilarious the dub turned out, the original Japanese studio realizing what they’ve done, and so on)

Cast:

1) Paul Rudd as the lead director who decided to go nuts with the English dub

2) Aubrey Plaza, Simu Liu, Kat Dennings, and Michael B. Jordan, Maya Rudolph and Aaron Paul as the voice actors

3) Hiroyuki Sanada as the head of the Japanese studio that gave complete, creative control to the American studio

Ay ciertos tipos de lunares/ manchas en la gente que siempre me llaman la atención. Las del tipo "nos hubieran quemado en la hoguera en otra época", pero la mayoría son pequeños y ubicados en lugares que captan mi atención.

Tiene 2 lunares en su mejilla con las que perdería todo el día tratando de unir de diferentes formas. El mismo que tiene unas cicatrices producto de un accidente y que no tiene problema en mostrar. Y si yo me viera como el también presumiria.

Marry My Dead Body (2023, Taiwan)

Mini-review:

I had so much fun watching this! I feel like the movie's tonal shifts and mixtures might be a bit too jarring for some people, but they worked perfectly for me. Most of the comedy lands pretty well, and the dramatic moments strike a nerve. There are even some effective jump-scares here and there! But the thing that takes the film to the next level is the acting. Greg Hsu and Austin Lin deliver flawless performances that really draw you in. People expecting a full-on gay romance will be disappointed, cause that's not what the story is about at all, but the chemistry between these two actors is fantastic and energetic. The directing is also dynamic and keeps you on the edge of your seat. That being said, the movie is not perfect. It tends to represent gay people in a way that feels somewhat stereotypical, and I think it could have delved much more into the social issues it addresses. I know the film has the best of intentions, but yeah, it could still be better in that regard. Anyway, Marry My Dead Body is a very fun experience, filled with humor, drama, action and great performances.

During a collaboration between class 3-C and 3-D, Caius turned himself into a puppy. He also turned Xue Long into a tiny dragon. Caius does not remember anything about being a puppy, but he was an energetic little puppy that ran around the whole school. Xue Long definitely remembers what happened.

Sebastien accidentally turned Aaron into a cat. Aaron had been walking in to deliver some papers to Crewel, but ended up becoming an unsuspecting victim. He trapped Sebastien in a closet for that.

Jian-Yu accidentally made a hair growth potion and became Rapunzel for a day.

Hubert turned himself invisible. People only saw floating clothes.

Emil accidentally created a body swap potion and swapped bodies with Xinyi. Xinyi hated it.
