Welcome back to the Neil & Seth shitshow!
i love my dummy sweet pea princesita seth sm we were robbed of his 3 brain cells
*Context for the Aaron tweet: in my Kevaaron fic “dance ‘til you find someone to die for” as well as my Kathea 🌺 wip et general hcs where Aaron and Katelyn have to separate, Kate has a mental breakdown from her multiple undiagnosed mental illnesses and thus is interned into a psych ward for months while events unfold on the outside. i just saw the tweet and thought it was funny and a lovely coincidence :)

I know after everything Rob did in 2015 it makes sense that he'd have to work to build trust again (especially with Aaron) but a lot of the abuse storyline eps in 2016 end up feeling like Chas and Aaron using Rob for help and emotional support and then shoving him away when he dares to hope that they want him around or makes a mistake (like with paying off that kid Ryan).
Like if it wasn't for Rob Aaron probably would have died in that scrapyard from his cutting. Or he could have died when he left the hospital if Rob didn't go looking for him. Or worse he may have taken his life if Rob hadn't been there to listen about Gordon and to push Chas to ask Aaron what was going on.
It was Rob that pushed Aaron to go to the police and who reminded him that his father shouldn't be able to get away with what he did. It was Rob that made sure Aaron knew he had support. Cain was the one initially telling Aaron to just drop the whole case.
Also it was Rob who kept Aaron's secret about his father until he was ready to talk about it. Rob wouldn't even tell Chas he made sure to wait until Aaron told her himself. It was also Chas who told Cain (without Aaron's permission) and then the entire pub even when Aaron told her not to.
And I know this wasn't his smartest or best decision but Rob also paid that kid Ryan to lie about Gordon because he was willing to do anything to help Aaron. Not to mention that fact that Chas kept pressuring Rob to do something to Gordon, making it seem like if he didn't do something drastic he didn't truly care about Aaron. I think not only did Rob want to make sure Gordon was sent down he also wanted to prove himself to both Chas and Aaron and prove how much he loved him even if that mean risking going to jail.
Rob was also the one who found Sandra and Liv (and paid a lot of money to track them down) then took Aaron to go see them. And finding them was vital to Gordon getting found guilty.
Rob also didn't try to pressure Aaron into any kind of relationship he wouldn't even kiss Aaron when Aaron tried to because he knew Aaron wasn't in the right mindset for anything like that then.
I don't know I'm just ranting here cause I love Rob and I'm always protective over him. I will say I love that in 2018 in the reunion Aaron really thanked Rob properly for all he did in 2016 and finally fully told him how much all of his help meant because he often didn't say so when it was happening. And I'm not trying to hate on Aaron I love him too and I know he was in like the worst possible head space in 2016 but it's still frustrating when you're watching these eps in order and you see Rob's hurt little face every time he thinks Aaron's given him an inch and then something happens and he snatches it right back.

fellow fansies - I have complied a (hopefully) comprehensive list of cast members for anyone new to the fandom or for those who may like a refresher on the casts. I've not included every single character, just the main ones, so if you'd like a character adding just ask; also if you notice any cast members are missing or have been labelled incorrectly in any way, please let me know, I want this list to be as accurate as possible. characters with a dash (-) for any of the categories I wasn't sure if they were included in that production or not. if you're able to fill in any of the blanks that would be much appreciated. any questions, please let me know <3

Have you ever had a soap plotline go one way and you wish it had gone another? Doesn't have to be a huge story.
At the time i kind of wanted robron to get back together after Robert was shot and Aaron was out of prison.
Like it wouldn't have been healthy, and they'd both be annoyed that they couldn't keep away from each other (and they'd keep it a secret because they were both insistent that it was over and neither wanted their families to know).
Then Gordon turned up and Aaron would have been like, absolutely losing his mind and Robert wouldn't have any idea why, just assuming it was his fault.
All would have gotten sorted eventually though, with the same outcome with Gordon etc.
That sounds pretty good actually!
I've written a few what if fics but those are mostly "what if Aaron didn't go to prison", "what if Robert didn't go to prison", "what if Robert bought the pub", "what if xx thing didn't happen"
but as much as I loved the robron reunion and the lead up to the second wedding and the absolute perfection that was the maxine reunion ep, I would have liked Robert to have had a sort of fling with Mike the chef. Like he convinced himself Aaron had moved on with Alex, so he pushes himself to move on too - with a fit Irish fella who kind of looks like Aaron.
Aaron still dumps doctor boring but Robert actually does go home with Mike. Aaron thinks he's lost Robert for good and mopes around the village for a few weeks while Rob is conflicted™ because Mike is a genuinely nice guy and maybe in another life they could have been good together... but Aaron is AARON.
But Vic and Rob's girl squad push him to make it work with Mike (like Chaddy and Liv did with Aaron and doctor boring) so it lasts way longer than it ever should have, but eventually he breaks up with Mike, and then there is the PINING over each other until Aaron goes all out one day with a Big Romantic Gesture and they get back together - and live happily ever after and nothing bad happens to them ever,

Cine: Latter Days (2003)

I feel like no one talks enough about what a piece of trash Liv's mom was. She knew at least to some extent what Gordon did to Aaron and never tried to help him. Some people might be able to argue that she was afraid of Gordon and stayed quiet for her and her daughter's safety but she did nothing for years. And even when she knew the truth was out she actually argued against Aaron and was poisoning Liv's mind with lies.
I'm glad she did eventually help with Aaron's case but it was like the very bear minimum that she could have done. Speaking as someone who is also a survivor of CSA (by my male babysitter) if I knew that someone was aware of what happened and kept it a secret or didn't try to help it would only make my trauma worse.
Even though Aaron wasn't Sandra's bio kid and even though I'm sure he was difficult to parent at times Sandra was still partially responsible for him and she failed him. Honestly I think she felt like if Gordon was focusing on Aaron he wouldn't turn on her and Liv which is exactly why she moved out when Aaron did.
Personally I think that Sandra should have had to face some kind of punishment along with Gordon not as harsh but something. Unfortunately even abusers don't usually get the punishments they should so people who cover up the abuse certainly don't.
I'm just glad that Liv got some semblance of a good family with Aaron and Rob before she died because both of her bio parents were spectacularly awful. Rewatching the 2016 eps Liv annoys me a lot but I try and remember that the reason she acted out so much is because of the environment she came from.

My Favorites (Gay Themed Movies)
BL/GAY ATW (BOYS' LOVE/GAY AROUND THE WORLD)
Movie: LATTER DAYS (2004, USA)
This movie will forever be one of my all time favorites. It was a low budget film written and directed by C. JAY COX. And it dealt with some serious subjects such as suicide attempt, conversion therapy, unaccepting parents and finding yourself.
The film boasted big name for such a low budget project such as Jacqueline Bissett, Mary Kay Place, Amber Benson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rob McElhenney and Erik Palladino
But as good as they were I think the movie went to the newbie leads of Steve Sandvoss as Elder Aaron Davis and Wes Ramsey as Partyboy Waiter Christian Markelli.
The story was about a Mormon missionary leaving Pocatello, Idaho to go on his 2 year mission. Living with 3 other boys/men that were out to tell LA about Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Elder Davis (Aaron) meets and is enamored with neighbor partyboy and sexually promiscuous Christian Markelli. Christian makes a bet with his friends he can bed one of the Mormons but when he gets close to Aaron almost winning the bet. Aaron calls him out. This affects Christian as he falls for the Mormon missionary. But after Aaron and Christian are caught kissing
Aaron is sent home to Idaho for excommunication in more ways than just religion as his mother and father basic Shun him leading him to slit his wrist. He survives (but you don't know that right away) only to be placed in a facility to fix his affliction of homosexuality. Believe it or not it ends somewhat happy. Aaron and Christian are reunited but no closure on rather or not Aaron's family accepted him. I'm guessing not. But it was still a damn good movie.
Something I didn't know at first. The screen play was adapted into a book by T. Fabris and published by Alyson Publications and France did a version called La Tentation d'Aaron (The Tempation of Aaron)
But sadly Steve Sandvoss has quit acting roughly after 2010 and became a farmer. Noble profession but given the chance with his talent in LATTER DAYS he could have been a household name. But that's just my opinion.
