"i know what you're planning. i know you're dying tomorrow." they said as they looked him directly in the eye. they would've seemed completely stoic if it weren't for the way their voice shook.

"please, just... if you can find it in your heart, spare me once last dance."

he sighed wearily, then agreed.

the two of them swayed through the halls to the sound of their heartbeats, losing themselves in the comfort of each other and trying their hardest to forget the reality of their situation--if only for a bit. neither of the two lovers knew how much time they passed in the embrace before they seperated, looked at him with a bittersweet smile, muttered a soft "goodbye", and turned away to their dorm--not waiting to hear his response.

they woke up the next morning feeling something between contentment and dread. they tried their best to brush it away with a "what's done is done", getting up to head to the bathroom and going about their daily routine as though nothing was wrong.

when the body was found, they forced themselves to remain composed--to go through the same old song and dance they'd done the past four times. investigate, wait for the trial, go to the room, and keep the suspicion on kokichi.

they found out the truth. everything was going according to plan until shuichi pointed out the clothes in the toilet and from there it spiraled out of control and it would've been too suspicious if i'd tried to deny it by then. i think i can hear the rocket blasting off, but it sounds so faint. i can't tell.

two more people have died in vain. i failed you.

-their nose is naturally hooked, but it's bumpy and lopsided because it has been broken!! he has been in a fair share of fights, never starting them, but they've gotten pretty good at ending them all things considered

-i have given them the title "The Apostate" :]

-they would go to church with Martha because it would make Grace too existential and scared but Martha didn't like going anywhere alone, sooo

-he tried to teach Martha to read but gave up; Martha got too frustrated (she learns eventually, thanks to Beatrice!)

-they know how to sew! fixes his own clothes and stuff

-Grace offered to try and heal his foot before but he politely declined; it's a part of him that he's accepted

-Grace's trial and execution was the front page story for a hot minute, so he had to shout about his best friend's death and sell biased & inaccurate stories about it so he could get paid :"]

-occasionally refers to Martha as "Marty" (Beatrice parallel BEATRICE PARALLEL)

-after Martha disappeared they started learning piano. He didnt get far though because he couldn't stand going in the church (to use the piano), especially without Martha

-when Martha returns, the only thing she could bring back of Grace was a jar with her heart in it (since her body got Dissected as fuck, chopped up to study n stuff) and anytime Eli is over at Martha's house (Martha kept it on her windowsill (where else is she gonna put it lol)) he like,, greets Grace's heart? I used to do this with an urn, it's a thing I swear. he would greet her heart,, he'd say hi to Grace, idk man.

-He and Martha still celebrate Grace's birthday; they set her heart jar on a table in front of a pastry or something. They don't take it very seriously (they need some lighthearted moments in their life god let them joke about their trauma please)

-after The Plot, Eli often goes with Martha on her (every-other-year-ish) visits to Aster and Beatrice. Beatrice and him get along very well (because of course they do) while Aster kind of scares him, but it's all good :]

-this one doesn't happen anywhere near the plot, only happens when hes like an adult n stuff but I think it's funny so...Eli COULD NOT keep a straight face at his Lavender wedding with Martha. Martha was more composed but Eli was NOT helping her keep it together Lol. After the fact he makes fun of Martha for being a terrible kisser (THIS IS SILLY GUYS PLEASE IM BEING SILLY)

I'm reaaallllyyy struggling with the whole Dawn rework (ask Sen and he'll tell you,, I'm struggling so bad) so I don't have much at the moment. BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I DO HAVE!!

As of writing this, Lucy WILL be a lot more active in the plot!! He's looking to prove he's still a powerful demon, so he goes with Gene to hunt down Frappe (and Dawn by associatio). He does, in fact, suck at his job though, so if anything he probably slows them down,, but that's okay...

-his glasses were accidentally stepped on by Ronnette when she was trying to wake him up one time (he passed out on the floor) but Lucy would rather DIE than go to the optometrist again so he's dealing with a cracked frame right now

-Lucy hates Juno almost as much as he hates humans,, but like he's never gonna hate anyone as much as he hates humans so (sorry Dawn, he wants you to perish so bad)

-Lucy is so sure that he's a MASTER at blending in with humans. He is not. He and his garish purple vest, unkempt And uneven long ass hair, and a shirt that's either A. Probably Gene's and therefore too big for him, or B. His shirt that has an entire sleeve missing. He doesn't remember where he lost the sleeve but he hasn't gotten around to getting a new one yet BUT HE WILL SOON GUYS TRUST (it has been 5 decades at LEAST)

-as of writing this I think I'm gonna make it so demons can actually control/choose what their humanoid form looks like, and I think Ronnette would pick on Lucy a lot for making his humanoid form so scrawny.

I find it more likely that if either of them are going to stir shit, it would be Kylar. (Mermaid!Sydney is obsessive but not volatile.) But Naga!Kylar specifically plays the long game, so now that he knows Sydney's upper hand, he will plan around that. If his second plan fails, he will likely lose patience and explode in some way.

The scene where Whitney asked about reader's harasser is foreshadowing.

Not planned but anything is possible if your heart dreams it.

In this AU Sydney and Kylar are adjusted to animalistic communication that doesn't require the minute manipulation of muscles that human speech does at the present. Think of them as babies. (I recently watched Shape of Water and it was so good. I love nonhuman-human romance, and it was such an earnest story.)

→Lucifer

Lucifer doesn't like getting summoned. He's a busy demon, and has better things to do than have humans summon him around. That's probably another of the million reasons he never makes pacts with anyone.

He's made it clear that you should never summon him unless you absolutely have to. You learned that summoning him for a joke was not a good idea after Belphegor and Satan managed to convince you to try it at least once..

You'd never quite been very confident, but the exchange program had helped you a whole lot. (And fun fact, Lucifer's pact mark can be your own cheerleader, I swear— Touch it and you're suddenly filled with so much confidence and and pride it's—)

With a bloody nose the thought of summoning Lucifer, the second(Third? Is he stronger or weaker than Barbatos..?) strongest demon in existence against them seems very tempting..

So you do exactly that, and the glare that he gives everyone around him is enough to make your bullies not even think about the fact he appeared out of nowhere in a bunch of smoke.

"What is going on here MC?"

Someone who's bad at reading him would probably think he wants to kill you, but you know better and can clearly see the small signs of concern.

The second he knows the situation then.. Well, it won't be pretty.

Lucifer is scary, even in his human form, and he gives your bullies the deadliest glare he can manage, and it's a miracle they haven't turned around and made a break for it yet. Maybe they're scared of testing his patience? Who knows.

He'll lean in and tell them something in a hushed voice so that you can't hear what he's saying, but you can see the color slowly draining from their face.

He gives them a polite smile as he shoo's them off, turning around to you as he checks on your injuries, making sure you're alright.

He's definitely scolding you for getting hurt though. It kinda sucks but also it's kinda nice.

For some reason that you can most likely guess is Lucifer, they won't even go into the same class as you, and soon after they move schools.

→Mammon

Honestly? When he gets summoned he half thinks you're a witch trying to get him to pay his debt...

Then he realized it's you and he's just so happy but then he sees the blood and now he's freaking out and—

He takes a second to calm himself down, breathing in and out slowly as your bullies stare at him in disbelief.

The next seconds he's all over you, asking you questions that probably aren't even related to what's going on because you're hurt and he's stressed and when he stresses be panics—

When you explain the situation you're honestly scared at the dark look in his eyes.

Mammon isn't the type to lose control, so he'll just give your bullies a bright grin that almost has you believing it. He'll walk over and casually throw his arm around their shoulders, whispering something so you can't hear.

You are concerned about what he said though because whatever it was it worked better than what you had been expecting of the second born.

He'll make you ditch school to do something fun with him now that he's in the human world— He saved 'ya, so it's only fair, right? Right!

He tells you to pay but ends up paying because he wants to be the 'cool older brother' and if you try to question it he'll just start screeching incoherent things.

Well, least your bully problem is over?

They won't come close to you at all...

→Leviathan

MC how could you!? He was in the middle of a game and he was almost done with this super hard game—

Oh no he's outside.

Why would you do this to him!? You're such a normie! He doesn't want to be outside! This sucks, this isn't what he wants to be doing at all..

Then he sees your 'friends' and he gets jealous. Wasn't he supposed to be your best friend? He was the lord of shadows to your Henry God dammit!

Then when you tell him the situation..?

Leviathan isn't a stranger to bullying. Not a lot of people think he's fit to be the avatar of Envy, so he gets a lot of shit from random demons and he knows how horrible it can be.

And yet there are people that are doing it to his MC? To his best friend and younger sibling?

Not on his watch.

He doesn't bother hiding what he's saying from you, unlike the previous two. He's saying some of the most hurrying threats you can imagine as he's showing off his fangs that are, keep in mind, impuded with one of the most painful and toxic poisons in the three realms.

Safe to say your bullies are a bit too scared to try and get near you again..

Well, why not watch some anime with him right? You no longer have to deal with the bullies, so do something fun with him! He's better, right? Yeah, so he'll take his favorite unoffical younger sibling to watch some anime.

→Satan

Hahaha— Why the hell would you summon the literal avatar of wrath? Do you want to get charged for murder?

If we go about this realistically he'd murder them on the spot, no hesitation. Like, summon him and he'll give you a curious glance.

Once he's aware of what's happening..

He'll get fucking livid, because how dare they? That's his younger sibling and he'll kill them right fucking now—

Either use your pact to stop him once he's beaten the shit out of them, or just let him kill them. It's your choice.

He really won't listen if you say it normally, since he'll be lost in a fit of rage, so be careful—

He'll feel a bit bad that you might be traumatized after that, though he doesn't feel shit for the ones he actually beat the shit out of—

Should have known better than to fuck with the unofficial younger sibling of wrath embodiment.

→Asmodeus

Please, Asmodeus values his manicure more than he values a fight. There's no way he'd get physical with them.

He'll probably just jump at you the second you summon him, shouting about happy he is to see his 'cute little sibling.'

When he notices the situation he'll probably just charm your bullies to leave, and to leave you alone.

He's just going to drag you away after that, determined to spend as much time with you as he can until Lucifer comes and fetches him. He missed you, you know? You missed him too, right? Of course you did, it's him!

You didn't notice the demonic claws that were held to the throat of your bullies.

→Beelzebub

Aaa, Beelzebub, Beelzebub, Beelzebub..

Look, Beelzebub is naturally really protective of his family. He loves them more than anything in the world, and that feeling was just doubled after Lilith's death.

Since you're a human, he's even more protective of you than he is with the others. (It's to be expected. You're a fragile human, their mostly capable demons. He's afraid one day he'll lose you to something small.)

So he'll probably panic the second you summoned him, fearing the worst and that maybe he was too late and should have followed you up to the human realm—

If he smells your blood he's a step away from giving into Satan's sin and breaking just about everything around him.

When he sees your mostly fine he'll calm down, but honestly if your bullies haven't ran away yet I feel bad for them.

Assuming that they haven't, —even if they probably did after seeing this huge guy show up from nowhere— He'll probably just eat them.

He's a bit hungry, so why not get rid of someone who's hurting his family while soothing his hunger? Win-win.

He'll understand if you don't want to get traumatized by that though, so he'll stop if you ask him.

You can assume safely that he'll find them afterwards though, he has a keen sense of smell and he remembers their face. They won't survive, their death will only be postponed.

→Belphegor

Belphegor is very protective too. He's not generally a very protective person, unlike his twin brother, but with you it's different.

He's already hurt you so much, and he doesn't want you to get hurt again ever.

Still, he's a bit annoyed that you woke him from his nap. He's tired MC, he's tired.

He's sharp though, and he's going to understand the situation really quickly. He won't even spare them a second glance, just guide you away from them.

He'll give them a threatening smile as he flashes both his claws and fangs at them, and they won't get near you again after that.

Why would he bother doing something that might get messy if he can just enter their dreams and make them do it themselves, right?

He's not above driving someone to suicide, they should have known better.

Anyway, MC, he's tired and you dragged him away from his nap so now you're obligated to nap with him

i think big fights with megumi are actually kind of rare. yeah he gets annoyed a lot but it never really blows into a full on fight. so when this fight happens, you two have no idea how to handle it because this is new territory for both of you. i think when you start keeping quiet around him, it would only annoy him more and he'd give you the cold shoulder as well. he'd be good at it too because he probably think you're overreacting. as the days pass, however, and he's completely calm, he'd start to feel guilty. surely you aren't still mad at him right??? but when you still actively avoid him, the guilt gets worse. megumi has a hard time articulating his emotions and he'd rather show you he's sorry but how can he when you avoid him like the plague? nobara and yuuji tried getting him to talk to no avail (gojo didn't even try no matter how hard yuuji asked). i think it's when he hears and sees you laughing with yuuji (who was only trying to cheer you up) that he sucks it up and makes the first move. He realized he isn't the most fun person to be around, nor the most affectionate partner, but he cared about you deeply and he wanted to show you in his own ways if you still wanted him to. He'd probably show up to your room unannounced and give you the tightest hug the moment you open the door. this wasn't really like him at all so you hug him back, telling him it's okay. Megumi would still say "im sorry" and give you an apology because he does want to be able to tell you how he feels without putting up walls, and this was the first step. megumi loves you and cares for you deeply and he knows you know how he feels, but he wants to grow better at showing and telling you too.

Completely inspired this by @luvbunnz art...but let’s talk homecoming headcanons. I know your art was prom fits Ro, but let’s consider :O

So I’m going off of the really sad idea that Mari died in her sophomore year, so she would never be able to go to prom. She was able to go to Homecoming though, and she went both in her Freshman and Sophomore years with Hero. 

Homecoming is a little more lowkey compared to Prom, so she and Hero aren’t concerned about like looking polished and perfect. Sophomore Homecoming Mari dresses in one of her favorite more formal black dotted sundresses, a red bow standing out in her night dark hair. Hero wears complimentary black blazer over a white button up, his sleeved bunched at his elbows. He forgets to get her a corsage, and she doesn’t care. 

So much of their lives is dedicated to perfection, the greatest gift they can give each other is to let their love be imperfect. With one another they don’t need to be the best, they just need to be there. 

Still that doesn’t deny their natural charm and pretty looks. They are probably one of the best looking couples there that night, and the effortlessness of their beauty together is both heart warming and jealousy inspiring. 

They spend the entire night dancing. They jump around, they do silly stupid line dances, and they share a few perfect slow dances that are little more than just holding one another and swaying. By this point they’re both working so hard that they almost never see each other alone. Anytime they spend together is also spent with the kids, so having this night just for them...it’s exactly what they needed. 

Rather than getting picked up from school, Hero and Mari decide to walk back home. Mari’s sensible heels are killing her after hours of dancing, so Hero carries her home on his back. Her hair spills over his shoulder as she leans down to whisper and laugh in his ear, and he doesn’t know if he ever wants this night to end. He wonders if he could just pause the world here with his girl under the stars. 

Hero makes a detour and takes them to their secret spot in the park. They sit on the dock together under the full moon and the stars and chat together for hours. Months later after he loses her, Hero tries desperately to remember what they had spoken about, but it’s all gone. They end up falling asleep at the dock, and wake up just as the sun begins to rise in a panic. They sneak into Hero’s house through the back door and quickly make a fake bed on the couch that Mari definitely slept in

Kel covers for them and says that Hero and Mari came home late last night and fell asleep. Hero was definitely in bed when he got up this morning. Hero makes him homemade lunches for a month as a thank you. 

Okay so remember when I said that Hero only watches Grave of the Fireflies alone? I lied. He watched it with Mari.  

This was in their teen years. I HC that Hero was already having like normal teenage struggles before he lost Mari. He has a lot of pressure on him, and look being 15 sucks. 0/10 would not recommend. He’s stressed, tired, everything seems to make him angry, and he can’t understand why. There are times that Hero gets exceptionally unlike himself, so they have a system that the two of them started just after they both turned 15. 

They would send Kel to have a sleepover with Sunny and they would make a nest of blankets and pillows in front of the TV in Hero’s house. She would cook dinner instead of him (usually pasta because Mari was good at baking but not super skilled at cooking) and they would take it and eat in front of the TV. 

They don’t pull out their backpacks, they don’t mention homework or school or college prep. They don’t let themselves think about all the things pressing down on them.

They usually didn’t talk a lot on those nights actually, but listening to the music and watching the movie was usually able to bring down the walls Hero built up between them. Nights like this are bad, but they’re also good because they end with his head in her lap, her fingers in his hair, and the tension finally leaving his shoulders and spine. 

((After Mari dies memories of those nights sours. Hero feels sick and selfish. Mari had been hurting so badly and he hadn’t even noticed. She had taken so many nights soothing his ridiculous dramatics, and he hadn’t even seen she needed him just as badly. Grave of the Fireflies becomes his Mari movie, and that never changes.))
