It always feels like people just want... more. When you're a creator of almost any kind and especially when you're in a fandom, people just want MORE content. Sometimes, most of the time, I want to hear "the things you create are uniquely you and that's what I want" or something like that. Because otherwise it feels like the only thing people will miss from my existence is the fact that there's just LESS being created. It feels like they DO actively want less ME. They want... more of everything else that already exists. Just MORE of it.

like @agentchimendez I love all your characters. It’s a problem because it makes it so much harder to talk about any of them when I like or am intrigued by so many of them. And I love your art and colours and all of that but most of all, I just love your characters and their interactions. It’s like yes.... today you’re putting another part of your mind online!! This character you have been thinking about!! I get to see that and experience that too and I just... I want to talk about what I see in it but I am so sure that my point of view is just going to backfire. It’s not gonna gel. I’m so convinced that we just wouldn’t get along. Also I just really love Emil and I’m sure you already know that but oh my god, I really do.

and @buttersketches I did discover your work through Mario’s Day Job first but I remember, all that time ago, getting so invested in the Reborn the first time I read it... and I know that I love Yes Princess! with all my heart and soul, but the Reborn in general hits this nostalgia point that makes me just want to relive your comic over and over and over. I’ve known about your work a lot longer than most other people’s so I’ve always just looked up to you in some ways... but then I’m also like, why would I say this? What’s the point in ever talking about how much all your stories and artwork has meant to me?

and @friendsofoaktreetown you really are so unique to me. When I see your posts, nobody makes me laugh or smile in quite the same way. I really am so, so relieved that you exist and have the opinions you do and are who you are. But damn, I love your writing. And I just wish I could break through this mental block and just read and read so I could read everything you would ever share and get you to send me your writing because I just don’t get tired with you. And I need to know more. I know I have to play half of this role in exchanging information. So with the way that I am, I always feel like you don’t tell me enough.

You three were among the first I got deeply invested in in this fandom and it’s so difficult to say any of this stuff. Because I don’t believe I matter and why would someone want to hear anything from someone they don’t believe matters? And it's why I'm never going to be able to post again, so long as it feels like anybody could be doing any of the things I do and it wouldn’t matter to anyone that it’s not me.

And it's why I'm always constantly seeking people who are like me, of whom I still have not found. It's why I'm never going to speak up in a discord or forum setting, because when someone says an opinion you share, you feel good inside. You can respond to someone who shares an opinion of yours. And no one responds to me. I don't say anything that people agree with.

Yam: Unpopular opinon?

I loooooove Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. Literally adore it. I’ve heard a lot of people say they just can’t get behind the characters, and I understand that problem, but the music and the gameplay and the actual business-running aspect of it is all just so charming. It’s the game I go back and play when I want to really get into the number-crunching, windmill-processing aspect of farming sims, but I’m tired of DS Cute (which, tbh, is probably my favorite in the whole series). 

Orange: Share a fanart/fanfic/comic you like!

Ugh this is so hard holy heck. There’s just so much good content out there!Personally, I would check out @buttersketches. Butter does a lot of super cute character doodles, sketches, and full-fledged drawings from all across the series -- and we share a love of Klaus from SOS, which helps a lot lol.

Tbh I haven’t read a lot of fanfic lately? That’s shameful to say, I know, but I usually spend so much time writing/planning my own that I barely read anymore. I should work on that.

Pineapple: Least favorite bachelorette?

Oh dear. Let me think. 

Michelle from ANB, probably. I just. She treats your protag pretty rudely, and then just...you still marry her? Seems fishy to me. Some people really like her, but idk. She seemed like an even-worse version of Allen. They had some weirdly toxic bachelor/ettes in that game. 

I feel like this question is so negative. To offset that, let me tell you my favorite bachelorettes from across the series: Celia and Muffy are dolls; also Iluka and Siluka from SOS:tot are SO GOOD; I love literally every single one of the Animal Parade bachelorettes (literally.every.single.one.), I love Ann and Mary in Mineral Town, and I adore Julia and Natalie from Sunshine Islands. So wholesome. I’m definitely forgetting some, but there you have it.

Fic Back Friday Sunday Monday

The Look Part 4 

Okay, so, I’ve written plenty of other Gilder fics where Scott is naturally the Pathfinder. But then one day I had the thought that what if he wasn’t? I’ve played Mass Effect: Andromeda several times as both Scott and Sara, and I have a world state for each version living inside my head (who doesn’t, though?) 

So one day I had the thought that what would happen if Sara was the one that had woken up first? What if Scott was the one that had been in the coma, and then later kidnapped by the Archon? The fic series that this is part of is my version of an exploration of that. A Scott that isn’t the Pathfinder, but was always meant to be on the Pathfinder team. A Scott that is honestly going stir-crazy by being kept behind on the Hyperion. 

A Scott that honestly, wants to live the life he left an entire galaxy behind for and flew 600 years to live. 

A Scott that is starting to fall for the technical officer on his sister’s ship. 

(I do have every intention of continuing this series. It’s just a matter of inspiration and winning the battle against a serious case of writer’s block.) 

As he reached the meeting room, he could feel the gentle shuddering in the floor plates of the Tempest, signaling that it was preparing to lift off. To where, he didn’t know, since he hadn’t asked Sara where they were headed next. I suppose I’ll find out soon enough, he thought as he approached one of the sets of windows just as the ship left the surface of H-047c’s main asteroid.

Scott didn’t know how long he stood there, though it couldn’t have been very long—they hadn’t even left the Remav system yet—when he heard footsteps approaching from behind him.

“For the record, I did get your email,” Gil said as he joined Scott at the window. “And while I would have happily answered it, do you know how suspicious it would have looked to type an email like that while dodging everyone’s badgering?”

Scott looked over at him, though whether he had been going to answer him or not fled his mind once he’d had his first glimpse of Gil Brodie bathed in starlight. Then an image formed in his mind where Gil wore nothing but starlight, and suddenly that was all he could think about.

“Why?” he asked quietly, and he knew he didn’t need to elaborate further when Gil looked back at him and he couldn’t see a trace of levity anywhere on his face.

“I don’t really know,” Gil said. “I just…couldn’t do it, you know?”

“Yeah, I think I do,” Scott answered breathlessly. “Though I feel like I owe you for that now, though.”

Gil watched him, his face almost as unreadable as it had been during the poker game. “Then you can pay me back for that right now.”

Before Scott could react otherwise (not that he would have,) the two of them were stepping into one another’s personal space, then Gil was cupping his cheeks in both hands, and then their lips met.
