Honestly the "wear womens clothes as a man, take the fashion you want" thing wouldn't be a terrible idea if they were sized relatively the same.

The problem is, they're not, so unless you are a twig of a man whom an M sits loose on you're not going to fit in the womens' XXXL pants, because they're smaller than the men's M.

It's irritating too because I'm too short for most mens' pants, but womens' pants are sized like.

So I'm either looking at something that doesn't go up to my waist size, or that I have to hem, which sucks and is annoying, and is not even possible for a lot of pants that have things printed on them.

URGENT ‼️ PLEASE READ

recently I rescued a cat and we were not expecting her to be in the condition she is in. she was rescued from a very neglectful situation in which we believed she would just need a check up and a groom; however, that was not the case.

meet bear: my sweet sweet kitty who is in urgent need of not only a much needed bath, but immediate medical care as well. in order to see a groomer to get her overgrown nails and matts taken care of (which have poop embedded into them as well), she needs to see the vet first for a plethora of issues.

first she has never been to a vet so she has never had her shots before (which are necessary in order to get groomed due to being a danger to people)

second she has bitten someone and given them blood poisoning due to the bacteria in her mouth from said neglectful living situation. this could be resolved with a dental checkup.

third, she likely has a head cold because she's having issues breathing. she's coughing and sneezing and I hear her huffing when she eats. she also is producing a lot of saliva despite potentially being dehydrated (which brings a risk for crystals as well)

fourth her sister has died of pyometra and bear is not spayed, so after her check with the vet and being groomed, we also need to discuss a future spay.

unfortunately her appointment isn't until June 10th, however she needs to see a vet now which means I may need to bring her to an animal hospital (since the vets are all booked up atm) which tend to be more expensive than doctor visits.

My sweet baby Peppermint passed away on December 8th, 2024 at 2:45 AM. She became sick very suddenly and unexpectedly on the 6th as we noticed she wasn’t eating any food or drinking any water. Believing it was a UTI, we took her to our local vet where they prescribed antibiotics. On the second day she got worse and we took her to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with pancreatitis. We were told that with treatment she would likely survive, but that unfortunately was not the case. Peppermint had suffered from neurological issues and food wasn’t able to go into her stomach, resulting in her passing. I make this post because me and my family are grieving, and in need of help. The vet wouldn’t have recommended treatment if they thought it was too late for my girl, but now we must pay for the rest of the treatment she received.

Her two vet visits cost us $3000 altogether, and this is $3000 we do not have. But we wanted to do anything we could to save Peppermint. i also realise there's people who are gonna be like "you expect me to believe that tony tinystepsforward is 29, disabled, a sex worker of nearly a decade, worked at automattic for six years, and someone who does as much organising with local trans and prison abolitionist and sex worker spaces as they seem to imply" and frankly you can believe i'm lying if you want, that's your right, just block me or w/e you don't have to be here. but yes i do in fact both work to eat and work for a better world. i just happen to be the kind of person who really struggles with inertia and is always doing a million things. kiasu, as my singaporean friends still call me, though i don't think i fit the classic archetype there at all — it's not a fomo thing as much as a having poor judgement about the feasibility of the ways i want to be generous with my time and energy and skills. i'm working on it. i would like to learn how to rest.
