#i've made this disclaimer on another post but will again since i've seen a lot more of the movies now #the movies are VERY good and very enjoyable but unfortunately the first handful are bogged down by transphobic/homophobic/okama stereotypes #they kind of vary in their severity. Movie 5 i think is the biggest catalyst because it features the stereotyped characters the most #prominently. Movie 3 doesnt really have caricatures per se but saves a very backhanded reveal for the end #Movies 1 and 4 are a bit more tolerable if my memory is correct. Movie 2 i think is kind of comparable to Movie 5 with its caricatures #in that the characters have similar roles in both movies #i admittedly can't remember what caricatures there were in Movie 6 or 7. 7 i think barely had anything #RAMBLE RAMBLE BASICALLY: these jokes are within the first 7 movies or so 5 being the zenith then reducing down and down. by movie 8 it's sa #e #i give these disclaimers because these movies are all very enjoyable and i would not recommend them if i didnt think there wasnt any merit #o them. they are all very much worth watching. Movie 5 still has a lot of very enjoyable stuff in it (there's a showdown in a supermarket!!#but i just want to make sure that is clear and established since transparency is good to have and i dont want anyone's viewing experience t #be ruined because they weren't given the proper warning #if it's any consolation it's my understanding that even the directors hated doing the jokes #iirc Keiichi Hara really didn't like doing the jokes and i think had a talk with the mangaka Yoshito Usui and was like 'uh dude this is #gonna age horribly can we maybe not'#ironically Hara's first film is Movie 5. which is again the biggest offender #BUT! that is my spiel. my understanding is that it's contained to those 6 or 7 first movies and i think is strictly just a movie thing #so please do give these films a watch but just be mindful at the same time #if anyone needs recommendations my favorites have been movies 4 and 9 but i genuinely really enjoyed every one that i have seen #i've seen the first 11 and a half movies (need to finish 12) and movie 22. the worst i've felt about one is 'oh that was pretty good!'#each film has its own merit and is very very very much worth watching #22 was the first Shin-chan anything i watched and all my Shin-chan expert friends say 4 is a good introductory piece #in case that influences anything/makes it easier to break in #so. thus concludes my spiel #csc #vid

jjk is about a lot of things but most of all with regard to Shoko Satoru and Suguru it's about how if you don't interact with people who aren't in your weird fucked up school with like 10 ppl total on a regular basis you WILL become an incredibly interesting adult in a way that makes people pity you

Man. When you lose 25% of your social lif #And you can barely. Talk to the other 75% because they're equally but differently affected. Shits going to do some Interesting Things to u #Also it might be part of ''op grew up with very little social interaction not for any one specific reason but in general #Doesn't naturally form friendships/bonds even when surrounded by ppl'' but only having like 1 or two close friends #(and like. Satoru calls Suguru his only friend. He definitely likes Shoko and Nanami but obviously there's a distance there)#Will do some Very Interesting Things To You. Anyway Satoru and Suguru were both pretty heavily implied to be very socially isolated #As children (bc of being ''the strongest''/able to see curses but also autism. They're autistic) and then ended up having a wildly #Codependent relationship that ended up ruining them both bc they didn't know how to start fixing things #Because they were the only ppl they really knew so. I'm going to be honest I think at some points they straight up loathed each other #Suguru bc Satoru ''left him behind'' Satoru bc Suguru ''didnt catch up'' and like. They had fucking no one to talk to #like 1. Shoko and Nanami are Also Kids and Know Both Of Them Well so trying to go to them would be. Wild #2. The adults in their life... There's only so much Yaga can do as one man. And I also think he's Struggling #3. They straight up don't know how to talk to people. They just don't.#Anyways they hated each other because they loved each other and I'm not saying talking to other ppl would've fixed this but #I think it could've changed A Lot y'know. Eh maybe my point would be stronger if Yuuji Megumi n Nobara #Like. Had better fleshed out social lives (showing why they're less fucking. Deranged) bc there's clearly Elements but not really much #Concrete stuff to point to. Yuuji kinda just forgets his old classmates. Sad! Megumi had His Sister and that was........ 1. The entirety of Monaco 2010

Any Monaco celebration has a special place in my heart as you probably well know! But just Monaco 2010 as an entirety is insane to me, to name a few: the matching Porsches...their parc ferme hug...Seb trying and failing to pull Mark into the pool...them jumping into the harbor together and Seb having to pull Mark up onto the dock, MONACO REALLY GAVE US SO MUCH 🤧 but also this race being the calm before the storm, like seeing them be all cute with each other but then knowing how the season ends and how things continue to proceed after that

2. Their Singapore 2008 date

Always holds a special place on my heart. Just that we have so many pictures and even footage(!!!) of their PR mandated date in a time where this kind of thing wasn't really common yet. The caption of the YouTube vid "Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel share an evening in Singapore" 😵‍💫 and I also think often about this comment on that vid calling Seb a "kleine Mädchen." I just think it's very cute. Giggly STR Seb and older gruff RBR Mark, not yet affected by teammate tensions

3. Japan 2007

I think its always very interesting the foreshadowing you can read into while watching older races. I love that Martian were always on an inevitable collision course. Like imagine being Mark and that rookie who crashed into the back of you then goes to win a race before you and then becomes your teammate and then becomes wdc. That they were on this collision course before they even became teammates and Seb had barely been in the sport yet. And LIKE that quote from Mark about Seb about "kids with no experience" and Seb crying in his garage, crazy.

4. Turkey 2010

I have such a fondness for "WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE DOING HERE!? WHAT A STUPID ACTION! I'M GOING HOME! FUCK YOU!"(to the point where my friends who know nothing about f1 know about that quote by proxy bcs I quote it so much") I think it's interesting how much Martian's conflicts revolve around team orders and disobeying radios. It's funny bcs in Turkey 2009, a very similar situation to both Turkey 2010 and Malaysia 2013 happens, them telling Seb to stay behind Mark bcs of whatever reasons. And in 2009, Seb is clearly 🫤 about it but obeys but then goes on to try to overtake Mark in 2010 and fails, but then succeeds in 2013, very interesting to see how that dynamic evolves and grows more toxic! But by far the best part about Turkey 2010 is them having to take that "Us in our Get-Along T-Shirt" pic 😭 it's so funny and I wish they'd do press releases like this nowadays

5. That Monaco 2021 interview where Mark interjects about knowing the meaning behind the coins in Seb's race boots

It's just very sweet to me. There's some post about it on here that explains how meaningful it is, but I don't feel like searching for it, so I'm kinda just paraphrasing that. But like imagine them having a conversation where Seb explains it to Mark and the meaning behind it, and like probably a decade later, Mark still remembers it in perfect detail, enough to remember about the specificities about which coin goes in which boot and why.

Obligatory mentions: Malaysia 2013 of course(but I wanted to mention others, but Multi-21 is a given when considering crazy Martian moments), Australia 2016 podium, Mark's various Instagram forays during Seb's retirement, that one interview where Mark grabs Seb from behind while Love Will Tear Us Apart plays, when Seb sat on Mark's shoulders, anything of them from Abu Dhabi 2022, etc etc

#ace attorney #ramble in the tags #that is literally all ace attorney is. its just a legal drama in the format of an anime/visual novel lol #as with most procedurals it amounts to “its interesting because normal people don't usually see this and the characters are fun to watch”#(procedurals include medical dramas btw)#but like. under most circumstances most people would find anything talking about court procedure boring #ace attorney is interesting because 1. theres a lot of artistic license taken. 2. the characters are fun. 3. murder mystery #4. narumitsu #this goes for medical dramas too. granted i dont question my interest in medical dramas much since i have a special interest in medicine #but medical dramas usually have what should be medical practice that goes completely ignored for the sake of the story being interesting #(ace attorney does a similar thing. watch any attorney react to the updated autopsy report in turnabout sisters lmfao)#anyway. i find it fascinating that legal dramas like ace attorney and law & order are found as interesting as they are #real law stuff is usually heccin boring to most people #(also med residents don't usually have time to be fucking behind the scenes. if residents are fucking each other they have too much time /j #(you do not have the level of relationship drama going on at real hospitals that you do in medical dramas. nobody has time for that lmao)

#em.txt #negative #all thr fnaf stuff that's come outta my rbs since the anniversary have just been queued. my queue is huge it takes a bit #anyways #bendy has given me pounds of grief & a lot of it is my fault for like. falling in love with a proof lf concept #& not waiting for the game to come out in full & rushing in to each chapter looking for hints #to a conclusion i made up in my mind & was never ever coming. the ending to game one is quite trash #& while the sequel tries to make the ending in 1 worthwhile it's too little too late #because while a sequel can recontectualize its prequel it cannot erase how it was when it first was released #yeah so like. i figured between how shit the studio heads were & how I didn't like the first game ot the second game #or really the spinoff which i played i am like the only bendy fan i know that played that thing #& I'm not like. super stoked for any of the 3 games they teased in secrets of the machine #which i think is fine btw secrets of the machine is okay but i refuse to judge it as a game because it's an advertisement #i think some of the secrets in that game like the poster one are stupid but most of it is fine kinda cool. glad they got to reuse #all those assets from previous games & also cameo the car from the mobile game #ANYWAYS i figured all this would pile up to mean i would cut off batim. but I haven't. when the next games come out i will #probably at least check out a playthrough maybe play them myself if they seem interesting #meanwhile. like. the fnaf 10th anniversary happened #they dropped a sequel to help wanted. they dropped 2 more fnaf games. & I don't give a shiiiiittt #i woke up the day after the anniversary & realized like. I don't like the games. I’ve always been interested in things like choose your own adventure stories or when community polls choose what happens in a story. Tbh I would love to write one (I know there’s a way to do this on ao3, the choose your own adventure part not the poll one as far as I’m aware) it’s just a matter of 1. Making time to do it 2. Deciding what story/fandom to write it for 🤨

going to a comedy open mic tomorrow mostly to watch my friends (it's at a cool venue that my improv troupe performs at once a month and a few improv troupe friends are doing standup there) but when these friends were asking if i'd be interested in coming they were like "btw there's usually a ton of open spots on show days if YOU want to do something... and they're not strict about it only being standup either, people have done character pieces and sketches etc like they embrace the weirdness... and they're not strict about time limits you could probably do anything between three and eight minutes... sometimes if there's not enough people signed up they'll even let you go twice..." and i'm like god damn it i thought i was gonna take a break from aubrey but this setup is like tailor made for an aubrey appearance lmao

#still on the fence about it bc the burnout i experienced at the beginning of may extended to aubrey #especially bc so much of my aubrey stuff is comedy about gender and my brain was more in ''set everything on fire'' mode #and i think i've gotten to a good place with that burnout but i still haven't worked on any aubrey stuff since i got home from college #but even still even tho my mental health is better than it was a few weeks ago #recently i have had this horrible insomnia where i haven't been able to fall asleep at night in over a week #(i've made up for it with naps but still i am not mentally 100% rn. i've tried so many things and nothing has worked.)#so that's my justification for *not* doing aubrey tomorrow. however.#i reeeally need to get more performance experience bc there's only so much you can develop a sketch character without performing them #and this venue is so good. it's an art gallery like an hour away that's designed to be part gallery and part performance venue #especially for comedy. like the venue owner is this veteran comedian who used to work with bobcat goldthwait and a lot of other big names #and it's a low-pressure environment bc everyone there has seen me do comedy before with my improv troupe #but they still haven't seen me do aubrey at all so it's bringing a new side of my comedy to some of my main collaborators #like this is so much better than my previous aubrey performances bc they were all either #1. shows in CLASSROOMS with a bunch of my classmates who generally don't get my comedy (very clique-ish)#or 2. a guest spot on a show at a coffee shop where everyone knew each other except me #plus the biggest thing for me is the lack of a strict time limit. like as much as having a good 3-minute monologue can be #i think aubrey is a character you need to get to know a bit longer than 3 minutes. and a lot of my stuff is long while also being very tigh #like not every monologue is like this but my best aubrey monologues are almost like aubrey is telling you a sitcom storyline #and removing too many lines makes the whole narrative jenga tower fall over #and as much as i want to figure out how to make every monologue a good starting point #having the chance to perform multiple monologues if i get to go twice so that they can build off each other would be perfect #idk i'm not sure how often the open mics are there. at least monthly tho i might be missing next month's depending on when i'm in toronto #so like this wouldn't really be my only chance. but yeah i'm on the fence about whether to bring aubrey back for a performance tomorrow #i probably wouldn't do new material. i'd do the 5 minute version of my uncle reg monologue bc it's the one that's worked best so far #and if i get to do multiple. maybe i'd do the ''nom de plum'' monologue bc i think it's also very strong #and it has a good callback to uncle reg #but idk i also think doing the song would be very fun and on-theme since it's pride month and the song is a satire of rainbow capitalism #tho i'd probably have to rework the monologue that leads into the song bc even tho i loved the concept i don't think i articulated it well #or i could write an entirely different lead-in and make the previous monologue (''C/H/M'') a separate thing to revise later #which would probably go better and somehow be less work to write. but even so i don't know what the venue's sound setup is

i finally finished bg3 2 nights ago ya'll 😭🥺

#i specifically looked up when i made a post about that my pc can run bg3 it was 2 months ago damn!!#it took me so long with trying to do every sidequest and i still managed to miss a lot of stuff 😳#i skipped a couple of act 3 quests too i skipped dribbles that baldur mouth gazette one and i think some others too #because i couldnt be bothered anymore trying to finish it faster 😂😭#and i still misssed stuff in act 1 🤡 for example that shovel thingie or what's it called 😭#anyways the ending overall i liked but there's almost no companion endings or what??#i felt like we deserved a cutscene for each companion and an extended for romanced one??#and i didnt even get to see karlach last time 🥺 it just said that her time is short and it skipped to astarion future plans scene 😭#i didnt want my tav turn illithid so i turned orpheus although ididnt want that for him too but oh well 😫#still don't understand why emperor straight up did 360 degree turn and joined the absolute even before i freed orpheus #like he didnt consider even for a sec orpheus would provide shield for him even tho he later agreed emp was right #about this whole thing needing and illithid i mean #anyways im considering doibg gale romance run but now i need mods and to decide if i replay from start #or from my act 2 save in moonrise where if i reject astarion 🙈 my gale romance activates??

finished my rewatch of blue exorcist s2. my main thought is rin & yukio walked so shigeo & ritsu could run. they are walking pretty slowly though lol

i have a lot of issues but also i can't help but like the show. it's nostalgic and i really really like rin as a character. im just a huge fan of Nobuhiko Okamoto's voice acting and rin's voice cracky teenage screams lmao.

#blue exorcist #ao no exorcist #but yeah theres a lot of frustrating weird stuff that annoy me #like everyone was so separated during the whole big fight. why. for what reason #the character are best when they all actually interact with each other (as shown by the last episode)#but they were each sequestered into groups of 2 or 3 (or fucking 1 with yukio?? cmon)#like for a little while thats totally fine. for the WHOLE rest of the season????#also i liked the artstyle of the first season better #though when the animation picked up it looked really good
