a cult of the vast that believes that the true form (or "creator"/manifestation) of the Vast is Asteria

"the falling titan": Asteria is a titaness, and is the goddess of falling stars

delos (the island she becomes/became): islands are surrounded by water. the ocean is notoriously a great thing for the Vast. plus she's a goddess of stars, astrology, and stuff, and that has to do with space which is also great for the vast

she's also connected to prophecy/oneiromancy (divination through dreams), and ofc all of the tma cults have prophets so it works out

(plus metaphorically dreams are endless places/times, so it fits even more with the Vast because the prophets are constantly surrounded by manifestations of the Vast, whether awake or unconscious)

Thinking about how Gossip Girl takes the day off for Thanksgiving. It’s kind of a cool detail for s1 because it humanizes her in a way that hasn’t really happened yet— up until that point she mostly just a felt like an omniscient narrator/plot device. Idk, I just love thinking about the in-universe Gossip Girl who’s just kind of a teenager like everyone else. Her hypothetical character (not Dan) really interests me, and I wish the show alluded to her real life more or dropped some breadcrumbs of personality every now and then. 

Funnily enough the book is pretty good at this: Gossip Girl is way less withholding about being a student among everyone else and reads a bit more conversationally which I like. (She actually answers asks in the book, which I’m glad they did away with in the show because I feel like that’s a bit too much interaction with the general public for her. She needs a little bit of mystery.) Imo Gossip Girl is kind of like a god or a higher power of some sort. She controls the narrative, she’s feared and worshipped at the same time, she can ruin your life- but she’s cheeky about it. And at the end of the day, she’s just a regular person who’s managed to simultaneously stir the pot and fly under the radar with unparalleled success. The ultimate schemer! You gotta commend her for it.

In her memo she very well could be, but it also says she gazes sadly at the book. and how am i not supposed to believe she’s talking about herself? plus the skill inflicts poison- which could be projecting or some other thing i’m too tired to type out rn.
