looking through the dual destinies and spirit of justice sprites really has me like "did ace attorney have a rough transition to 3d or do some of the sprite animations just not work in 3d like they do 2d"

#yes theres a difference. “rough transition to 3d” generally means the entire game is messy #additionally usually “rough transition to 3d” implies they couldn't help how the 3d stuff turned out #100% convinced that if they hadn't stuck to some of the 2d sprite animations it wouldn't be QUITE as awkward as it is #not all the sprites in dd and soj are awkward either. they just decided to keep the 2d sprite animations #for some characters that works (ema and trucy for example) but for others (APOLLO) it feels SO awkward on some animations #klavier. i just hate klavier's model. i love his animations though lol. his hair flip after his laughing animation? 10/10 #the other issue is that dual destinies and spirit of justice feel like they were animated using a regular 3d animation software #im 100% convinced that the reason the animation on tgaa's sprites is so nice in comparison is because they used motion capture #i dont know if dd and/or soj used mocap but it feels like they didnt and i think its one of the issues with the sprites #most of the designs arent any more or less realistic than tgaa's designs. mocap would work for dd and soj's sprites #anyway enjoy in-the-tags the ramblings about the sprites of a game i havent played yet lmao #ace attorney #dual destinies #spirit of justice #ramble in the tags

a cult of the vast that believes that the true form (or "creator"/manifestation) of the Vast is Asteria

"the falling titan": Asteria is a titaness, and is the goddess of falling stars

delos (the island she becomes/became): islands are surrounded by water. the ocean is notoriously a great thing for the Vast. plus she's a goddess of stars, astrology, and stuff, and that has to do with space which is also great for the vast

she's also connected to prophecy/oneiromancy (divination through dreams), and ofc all of the tma cults have prophets so it works out

(plus metaphorically dreams are endless places/times, so it fits even more with the Vast because the prophets are constantly surrounded by manifestations of the Vast, whether awake or unconscious)

#ace attorney #ramble in the tags #that is literally all ace attorney is. its just a legal drama in the format of an anime/visual novel lol #as with most procedurals it amounts to “its interesting because normal people don't usually see this and the characters are fun to watch”#(procedurals include medical dramas btw)#but like. under most circumstances most people would find anything talking about court procedure boring #ace attorney is interesting because 1. theres a lot of artistic license taken. 2. the characters are fun. 3. murder mystery #4. narumitsu #this goes for medical dramas too. granted i dont question my interest in medical dramas much since i have a special interest in medicine #but medical dramas usually have what should be medical practice that goes completely ignored for the sake of the story being interesting #(ace attorney does a similar thing. watch any attorney react to the updated autopsy report in turnabout sisters lmfao)#anyway. i find it fascinating that legal dramas like ace attorney and law & order are found as interesting as they are #real law stuff is usually heccin boring to most people #(also med residents don't usually have time to be fucking behind the scenes. if residents are fucking each other they have too much time /j #(you do not have the level of relationship drama going on at real hospitals that you do in medical dramas. nobody has time for that lmao)
