this isn't against Itadori as a character but rather the fact the story doesn't put him in this kinda situation but I'm kinda sad he never has like... Not a crisis of faith but his heros aren't ever really taken off their pedestals. Like he never really has to consider just what it means to admire them. Like my main thoughts is Gojo, and how I believe Jogo mentioned that "unlike Itadori" he is capable of cold calculation (this is right before he unlimited voids in Shibuya) and I just wish we could have seen Yuuji learning about that side of his teacher. I don't think he'd hate him or anything but I'd like to see how he responds to that- if he's disappointed in Gojo, if his admiration affects his ideals, etc.
#This was kinda sparked by Yuuji saying like. ''if I don't keep fighting I'm just a murderer'' and like. Gojo is just explicitly a murderer#Morality aside he has taken lives. And he's not the same as Megumi so he'd react differently to Yuuji's reluctance to murder/desire to save#Ppl but also like. im #tired and unfocused but for whatever reason I just want to say Ieiri Shoko & Geto Suguru are both disabled. Literally nothing will change my mind on this
#They are not at all at peace with that fact tho. Suguru has just the worst most obliviously internalized ableism#And Shoko has no coping mechanisms beyond substances and self isolation#Gojo's also disabled but that's more explicitly stated w the Six Eyes/migraines/blindfold thing#Shoko and Suguru might not be intended to be disabled but I know they are. i like Yuuta well enough he's a weird little guy but. He is in close competition with Suguru for the award of "the writing choices surrounding them make me feel real fucking uncomfortable." Suguru's still winning bc of the fact his storyline has 3 different young girls' pain/trauma is used to fuel his character development. Riko is... A bit uncomfy, but she is A Character. But Nanako and Mimiko are genuinely inexcusable because they exist in the story to make Geto seem more sympathetic instead of just fucking evil, as seen by the fact they fucking die and aren't acknowledged afterwards (even when Miguel and Larue participate in the story they aren't fucking MENTIONED). But God I hate how Rika is treated by the narrative it's genuinely just. A mess imo. Like 1. Obviously her primarily defining trait is loving Yuuta which is already ehhh 2. Dies as a kid and is obsessed w Yuuta 3. This isn't because of HER OWN ACTIONS BUT RATHER YUUTA CURSING HER 4. After "passing on" her curse form is. Still fucking there and being used as a tool 5. Her character profile seems to imply she was abused in some way by her family which. I don't have a lot to say beyond :/

hanami + Jogo vs Gojo is a lot better in the sub Gojo is genuinely so fucking menacing. But also I'm realizing the exact choice kenjaku made to make sure Satoru HAD to sacrifice some people lives + safety. And then go "hey you know who else killed a bunch of people? Me. Your friend. Hi"

Which isn't terrible as a sorcerer- it's more important to focus on the danger first#Then work on the Everything Else. But like FORCING him into that mindset then going. Like they don't have to do anything to him#But if they get hurt or killed and he's held responsible by others or even his own morality? That starts breaking ur brain#And you have to work REALLY HARD to make sure you don't let yourself sink into the kind of self indulgent anger#That lets u disassociate from the feelings of grief. listen this may be Nothing but. Junpei + Kokichi friendship and/or romance. I have some actual reasons for this but a good chunk of it is "I think they have a huge amount of wasted potential + Vibes"
